Blood And Bridges

Chapter 58

Cold was the steel of my axe to grind

Hell was the journey but it brought me heaven

Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire

The remaining days came and went despite the attempt to cover it all. It was obvious to Simon that regardless of what his dad had told him. Something was going on with his parents and the more htey attempted to not talk about it. The easier it was to see.

Besides the echos of conversation between Sage and Lowen.

It was quiet. On the ride home from the cabin.

...

"The two of you unpack shower and change!" Brooke exclaimed. From the bottom of the staircase as the twins made their way upstairs.

"We will!" They replied.

"I have sketching to do." Brooke said. Looking to Simon. As she took her suitcase upstairs.

Brooke made her way through the hallway dropped off her suitcase. And made her way into her design room.

It was full of fabric. Sketches. Mannequins. She grabbed her sketchpad colored pencils and started to draw.

Simon retreated to his bedroom. Bringing in his suitcase.

He left it by his closet. And shut the door behind him.

"My boyfriend's home." The teenage girl said with a smile.

Simon walked right over to her. Taking her in his arms. Kissing her softly.

She was naturally tan. Dark hair. Hazel eyes. Her name was Jenny Jagielski.

"How long have you been here?" Simon asked.

"I sneaked in through you're window. I have to find the copy of the key you made me. When you texted you were on the way back i came over and have been hanging out in here." Jenny explained.

"I missed you." Simon proclaimed. Caressing her face and kissing her again.

The two teenagers had secretly been dating for a year.

Given the weird tension between their fathers it was easier to just keep their relationship quiet.

"I fully support you going to see you're bio mom."

"If you want a relationship with her you should have one but if you don't. You shouldn't feel bad about it. She is a stranger." Jenny reassured.

"I love you." Simon proclaimed.

"I love you too." Jenny said.

"I should let you unwind in peace. Talk to you tonight." Jenny said.

"You really missed me." Simon said with a smile.

"These clothes were just in you're closet and i tried them on."

"And i could give them back." Jenny teased.

"Don't you dare." Simon replied. Toying with the S necklace. He had gifted her.

And with that Jenny left out the window.

...

Peyton laid herself down in bed. Closing the shades.

She clutched the cellphone waiting to hear Lucas's voice.

She knew he was back in town now.

When the call finally picked up. It wasn't Lucas at all.

"The number you are trying to reach has been disconnected." The operator announced.

Peyton felt her heart sink.

...

Days Later

Brooke hugged him tightly watching as he left the car and went into Karen's cafe.

She took a deep breath. It would be fine. She repeated to herself.

Simon roamed the booths and tables.

Taylor smiled shyly.

"Thank you for meeting me. I've wanted to have you in my life for a long time." Taylor started off.

"I just need to be honest. I'm grateful you signed away you're rights. Because of that. I was able to have my mom. And she's the greatest."

"I have no interest in having a relationship with you." Simon proclaimed.

"You don't mean that. She poisoned you against me."

"That's all this is. I'm you're mother. Not her!" Taylor exclaimed.

Simon got up from where he was seated. And left.

It only minutes later did Taylor cause a scene screaming and knocking things over in the cafe.
