Hey there, time for another Shaman DxD story and let's see how things will play out in this chapter. Now that Yoh is at school let's see how Manta and Issei will deal with this mysterious new student. Can they discover the truth or things will be put to the side? Well lets
At Kuoh Academy.
"How could he say no, he was with those ghosts!'' Said Manta.
"Yeah, he is must be hiding something!'' Said Issei.
The duo were seeing the new student Yoh just relaxing on his desk, almost sleeping like nothing matter. Everyone in the class saw their smartest student and the class pervert looking at him as if he was a wanted fugitive.
"Why do you want to help me?'' Asked Man.
"I want to see what is happening. This guy is not trustworthy.' Said Issei.
"Really? I thought you didn't care for stuff like this.'' Said Manta confused.
"Look Manta, I know you might think I just think about boobs for most of the time, and yeah, I do, but I like to go around and find some answers. I am not someone who just let weird things pass by.'' Said Issei.
Manta had a little bit of respect for Issei now, yes he knew the teen was a notorious pervert but he wasn't a bad person, plus like him he wanted to see what Yoh was hiding from the class.
"Ok Issei, let's work together.'' Said Manta.
"Aren't you worried your reputation might be dragged down? I mean I have no respect in this place.'' Said Issei.
"I already have my eyes set on various Universities, grades is what they look for not my social connections.'' Said Manta.
"Really! Man, I should have started earlier for exam preparation.'' Said Issei.
Manta just laughs at that. He felt there might be more of Issei than the pervert than everyone keeps telling about it.
"So what is the plan?'' Asked Issei.
"I am going to follow him after school, make sure he has another encounter with ghost and comfort him.'' Said Manta.
"Well that's sound like a plan! Count me in!'' Said Issei.
The two boys shook hand as they look at their target Yoh Asakura.
A little later
The two followed Yoh to a bridge, they didn't know why was he there.
"Look! He is just relaxing on the edge!'' Said Issei.
"Let's see what he will do next, maybe he is waiting for someone or something.'' Said Manta.
The two stayed hidden near an alley, getting a good view of Yoh and wondering what was his next move.
3 Hours Later
The two just stayed planted on their hiding spot, seeing Yoh in the same edge of the bridge all relaxed and having no complains. The fact that he stood in the same spot for 3 hours straight, just looking at the sun with not a care in the world insulted them as they lost an entire day.
"WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING ALL THIS TIME!'' Screamed Issei all pissed. He lost a day of looking at Porn for this.
"Ah, coming with nature sure is fun.'' Said Yoh all calm as he talks to himself, but both teens heard him loud and clear.
"He is just enjoying nature!'' Scream the two in shock.
"Oh, its you two.'' Said Yoh seeing the duo.
"Ah! We got discovered!' Said Manta.
"What do we do?' 'Asked Issei.
"What is the meaning of this?'' Asked Yoh confused.
Wanting to see what was happening Yoh asked the two why were they following him, being a very calm person Yoh simply answered their question.
"I see. Sorry if you two found this to be boring, I like being around nature and Kuoh sure has a lovely river.'' Said Yoh.
'So you just like to stand around and watch a river?! What kind of teenager are you?'' Asked Issei.
"The weird kind, I guess.' Said Yoh with a laugh.
"I guess he is right.'' Said Manta.
"We have a big question for you! The big one!'' screamed Issei.
"Why didn't you tell everyone at school that you knew us, plus the ghost thing! Why did you denied it?'' Asked Manta.
"Because if people were to know my scret everyone at school would have gone crazy. I actually came to Kuoh not because of the school, but because of my advanced training. I am Shaman.'' Said Yoh.
The two looked at each other confused.
"Shaman? What is a Shaman?'' Asked Issei.
"Isn't this a high-ranking member in a religion position?'' Asked Manta.
"A little bit, but a Shaman is a link between the physical and the spiritual world. If you two need my help, just ask. I gotta go home now, see you two at school.'' Said Yoh leaving.
The two teens just looked at each other in confusion, Yoh told them why he couldn't just tell their classmates why he knew them or why he could talk to ghost, but still didn't made sense. While Manta was a bit lost Issei was pissed.
"Well, I wasted my afternoon for nothing.'' Said Issei.
"What! But he told us what he is and how he can see spirits.' Said Manta.
"Wait, do you believe this crap?'' Asked Issei.
"no, I mean I want to but I want to make some research on this Shaman subject.'' Said Manta.
Issei just walked out a bit annoyed, he felt this wouldn't lead to anything and was a waste of time.
"I bet its just some hoax, forget about it Manta.'' Said Issei leaving Manta.
"Issei wait!'' Said Manta a bit worried.
"See you at school tomorrow.'' Said Issei.
The brown-haired teen left the short one near the bridge, Issei just walked out annoyed that he wasted the whole afternoon watching a guy doing nothing, absolutely nothing.
"Man, I could have watched the volleyball team get changed but I wasted on a guy watching a lake. I wish there was something else to do now!'' Thought him angry.
"Excuse me.'' Said a sweet voice.
"Huh?'' Asked Issei turned around to see a beautiful girl with black hair and wearing the female Kuoh Uniform.
"Can you help me with something?'' Asked her with a blush.
Issei didn't know but he was pretty much walking into a trap.
Back with Manta
The short teen felt that this would be a solo mission, dinging out what a Shaman was and see how Yoh connects to all of this. That explanation was very vague and didn't made a lot of sense and he wanted to know more about it.
"If Issei is not going to help me I guess that's ok.'' Thoguht Manta.
The short teen went to the Kuoh Library and looked for a dictionary and look for the word Shaman.
"Found it!'' Said Manta all happy as he started to read it.
Shaman, in animistic religions, a person who communicates with Gods, Spirits, and the dead using magic to cure illness, foretell the future and influence events. Entering a special trance to borrow these spirits powers shamans act as medicine men, guide or medium forming links between the physical and the spiritual world. Ancient times, they were the center of society and still are in some cultures today.
The research made Manta feel like a fool, he didn't believe a single thing of that crap. Despite seeing Ghosts hanging out with Yoh he felt there was a lot more to be answered about it.
"This is otter bullcrap!' Thought him.
He left the library and wonder what else was Yoh hiding, that guy was a true mystery. While walking Manta saw a bunch of teens hanging out and having fun, being the typical social typecast Manta couldn't be feel a little be jealous, he always put his grade and education above everything so he didn't had much friends. Sometimes he really wanted a girlfriend.
"Well, I am already on the last years of high school, I might find someone at the University.'' Thought him.
He then saw someone jumping around all happy, he took a closer look and saw it was Issei.
"Is that Issei?'' Thought Manta.
"I got a date and she hot! I got a date and she's hot!'' Said Issei all happy.
The information made Manta a little bit down, even a pervert like Issei got a date even before him.
"Even Issei!'' Thought him.
Manta just looked down a little bit in sadness but he had no one to blame but himself. He put academics in front so he had to continue with that.
"I need to go home.'' Said Manta.
Manta went to the train station to go home safely, however someone came around the place. The infamous Ryu and his gang of no good people. Manta took a look of those guys and went hiding.
They were talking about Kuoh and how much of a great city it is, but they were also talking about the great Samurai Amadaru and how its grave is weirdly protected from all sorts of amulets. Manta wanted to go away quiet but he bumped into a trash can causing a lot of noise.
Bam
"Who the hell tossed all this trash?'' Asked Ryu pissed.
"I was just passing by.'' Said Manta scared.
"Well we gotta teach you a lesson for tossing all this trash at our direction, get him boys!'' Said Ryu
"AAAAAH!'' Scream Manta horrified.
The beating was not that serious but at least Manta was able to leave the hospital later that day.
The Next day
Manta went to class with a cast arm and a few bandages, everyone in class was surprised that he got attacked by Ryouh gangs.
"Why were you walking around near the train station? Everybody knows that they tend to pass by there late at night.'' Said a classmate.
"Yeah Manta that was stupid of you.'' Said another one.
Then Issei and his friends appeared, the brown pervert was in shock upon seeing Manta state.
"Manta! What happened to you?'' Asked Issei.
"What happened! I was attacked by Ryu gang, they beat me up by every inch. I was leaving the library after doing a research on Shaman and that when they appeared.' Said Manta.
"You went to the library and research Shaman? For what?' 'Asked Matsuda.
"I bet to see if Ghosts were actually real.'' Said Motohoma as the two laugh.
Issei didn't interfere in his two friends laugh, a bit anxious to be seen as a weirdo.
"Come Issei! You saw with me!'' Said Manta in shokc.
"I don't know what are you talking about? I mean ghost don't…'' Said Issei but then someone cut him.
"Ghost do exist.'' Said Yoh.
The class turned to the transfer student who was all calm looking at them.
"Manta, I heard what happened to you from my friends at the cemetery.'' Said Yoh.
"You did?'' Asked Manta.
"Yes and I am sorry if I couldn't help you at the time, but I will make things right.'' Said Yoh.
Then Yoh turned to Issei who had a look of confusion on his face.
"Issei.'' Said him.
"Uh?'' Asked the pervert confused.
"The girl you are going out is not a trustworthy woman.'' Said Yoh.
"Wait, how do you know Yuuma-chan?'' Asked Issei.
"I seen her before, she is not what she is telling you. I would cancel this date if I were you.'' Said Yoh.
The brown-haired student was now shocked, he told only 4 people about his date and Yoh wasn't one of them.
"How do you know all this?'' Asked Issei.
"If I feel you a bit different tomorrow that means you were transformed, don't worry about it you will get the hang of it. Anyway, I have to go now.'' Said Yoh.
"Wait, go where?'' Asked Issei.
"I have to settle the score for Manta.'' Said Yoh looking at Manta.
"Eh! What?! Why?'' Asked Manta in shock.
"Because you are my friend, I can't let a friend of mine get hurt and just walk off doing nothing. We gotta see this Ryu guy.'' Said Yoh grabbing Manta hand.
"No! He is going to kill us both!'' Scream Manta.
Yoh then dragged Manta out of the classroom, everyone looking at the scene in confusion as the chilled teen dragged the poor student out as if he was some luggage.
Issei on the meantime was mostly thinking on how Yoh knew about his date and what was going on. And what did he mean by transformation?
"Who is he?'' Thought issei confused as he sees Yoh as even more of a mystery than before.
Meanwhile.
Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri, the only two pure blood devils in the school were doing some paperwork when they heard some screams down the hall.
"What kind of noise is this?'' Asked Rias.
"I don't know.'' Said Sona.
The two girls peaked their heads out and saw Yoh dragging Manta who was still screaming and begging him to stop.
"Come on Manta, it will be fun. Since we are friends we can go have ramen together later.'' Said Yoh all calm.
"No, please, I beg of you don't mess with Ryu gang! And don't take me with you!'' Scream Manta.
The two girls only saw that image in confusion, not sure what was happening and who those two were.
"Uh…what is this?'' Asked Sona.
"Something fun is happening and we don't know.'' Said Rias with a laugh.
"I don't know if I would consider this fun, but isn't that Manta Oyamada?'' Asked Sona seeing the small teen.
"He is one of the top of school board? Isn't he?'' Asked Rias.
"Oh yes, his ranking is only below mine. I was even thinking of calling him for mine peerage, but he lacks to muscles skills and courage.'' Said Sona.
'Yes, it's a shame.'' Said Rias.
"Manta is a really nice boy, but he needs to still learn a lot in terms of social skill. I don't let just anyone join my ranks.'' Said Sona.
"Same here, I need to make sure I have the right member.'' Said Rias.
"Well, I guess those two are just going to have fun. I don't know what kind of thing they are doing but I hope it is not on school ground.'' Said Sona.
"Yes, but it's better for us to get back to work, we still have a ton of papers to sign.'' Said Rias.
The two devils then did just that, going back to work as Yoh and Manta would go for the battle of their life's and Issei would be going to the date that would change everything.
So yes, it's not the best sample and structure chapter but it was a fun one. Manta and Issei looking for Yoh and seeing what he does next, issei getting a date and then Manta getting attacked by Ryu. I admit that I skipped Ryu part a bit because I don't need a lot of exposition about Amadaru now, I can do this later and have some fun with.
