"Galar, huh? Feels like ages since we were last here." David said.

"The last time we came here, we adventured in the Crown Tundra and competed in the Galarian Star tournament."

"Not to mention, capturing a ton of legendaries." Mayumi said. "This was also where you started bonding with Cheetah and her group, was it?"

"Pretty much. It was the first we had with her as an ally. Oh man, how time flies… I wonder how they are doing right now." David said.

"I'm sure they're fine. You know better than anyone that they're tough as nails." Sectonia said.

"Maybe we should've told Zamazenta 'bout this fiasco? I'm sure he'd want to help out, this a region he's protected with you since forever ago, Zacian." Gemini said.

"You are aware of Cipher's broadcast, right? No way he would've missed that." Zacian said. "In fact… Now that you mention it… Zamazenta and I have kind of been falling off a bit lately, haven't we?"

"It's not your fault, it's just the way things work. Whenever a new region is discovered, people start flocking towards it." David said. "No offense towards you, Miraidon."

"(None taken. I know it's gonna happen to me soon. But I'm not too worried about that.)" Miraidon said. "(At least you'll still have your riding buddy.)" he said a in a bit of a cheeky tone.

"Yes. And then there is my Elemental Sword. I can't help but feel that there's more to this thing than we figured out during our Dungeon Odyssey trip." Zacian said.

Rime hummed in thought as she had her eyes closed. "(I see, so that is what awaits us.)"

"From the looks of things, you and Zamazenta have little leeway to attain any kind of spotlight. Unless Zamazenta becomes eligible for Unite Battles, of course." David said. "Maybe this journey concerning that sword could serve as something between the two of you."

"Yes, perhaps so. I think Zamazenta would like that opportunity, honestly. Knowing him, he'd jump at the chance to help without a second thought." Zacian said.

"And I bet Reformed Society would join in too." Scarlet added.

"Ah, that's true." David said. "Though…"

"Still thinking about that incident with that prison report?" Jexi asked.

"Yeah. Not sure if I should involve all of them or…" David said.

"Ah, you're overthinking things again. That's how people can tell you're nervous." Jexi said.

"Of course I'm nervous. I keep thinking about what's going on in Cheetah's homeworld. I can't help but feel that… If something were to go down there, there is a chance her group might not make it out. Well… They will, but… Probably not completely intact, if you know what I mean." David said.

"Yeah, I do. But you can worry about that when it happens. It's not worth brewing over right now." Jexi said. "Besides, you probably should at least try. It seems like the only right way to do it."

"You are sure? I mean… You don't exactly have the best relations with them." David said.

"That's my group's problem. Let me deal with it." Jexi said. "You'll need all the support you can get on this thing, after all. Just a…gut feeling I have."

"Yeah, you have a point there. With how things have gone lately, I'll need all the help I can get." David said.

"Besides, their rap is not as bad as Connor's, especially after that whole Starfall Island Incident. I think you'll be able to find a way to work that whole thing out in your favor. You always find a way to." Jexi said.

"Sorry to interrupt this conversation you're having… But we are now arriving in Galar and…things are hectic!" Jet said seeing giant Pokémon roaming across Galar and causing trouble.

"Dynamax Pokémon everywhere!" Ibuki said. "It's like an all out Kaiju rampage!"

"Galar Particle readings are completely off the charts!" Entrapta said. "The whole region is seeing red, and not in a good way."

"What about Leon?" Titanica asked.

"Looks like he's already on the move." Jet said, showing images of Leon using Dragapult to attack some of the Dynamaxed Pokémon.

"We'd better get out there too." Hope said.

"Whoa, hold on! One Dynamaxed Pokémon is one thing, but…all of them, all over Galar?" Bow asked.

"Size isn't everything. Dynamax may make a Pokémon bigger, but they still have to deal with their usual weaknesses." Hope said.

"He's got a point. We watched Alice tear through Galar like a hot knife through butter, and she was able to become champion, Dynamax or not." Lapis noted.

"And we know all the ins and outs of the Dynamax Phenomenon thanks to watching her battles. We can take on all those Pokémon no matter how big they are!" Frosta said.

"Yeah…save that for when we…aren't getting attacked!" Jet said as the ship was hit by a Dynamaxed Tsareena.

"Right, Motivational speeches for later." Frosta said.

The Dynamax Tsareena tried to attack them with Max Overgrowth, launching giant seeds at them, which the Galaxy King was able to evade.

"Prune that oversized fruit queen!"

"I've got this!" Adora said, sending out her Ceruledge. "Use Flare Blitz!"

Ceruledge dived from the Galaxy King down towards Tsareena, ramming into it with the powerful fire type attack and sending the gigantified fruit pokemon stumbling backwards across the Turffield area.

"Follow it up with Bitter Blade!" Adora followed as Ceruledge went to attack only to be kicked away into a wall. "No!"

"Shoot…this may be tougher than we thought." Frosta said.

"Attacking Dynamax Pokémon head on by ourselves isn't the best strategy." Jin said.

"Well then, we should we do?" Emo asked.

"Fight fire with fire, no?" Crimson asked as Inteleo stood next to him. "Now…fire off an Ice Beam."

Inteleo nodded as he pointed a finger and fired, freezing Tsareena in place.

"Now, adieu." Crimson said, holding a Pokéball with the snag machine as it dynamaxed before tossing it. The ball hit Tsareena, dragging it in before it shrank down and clicked. "C'est magnefique."

"Exemplary, Ash." Elisabeth said.

"Thank you. Now…can we pinpoint where this all originated?" Crimson asked.

"Hmm…seems like it all started from Hammerlocke." Tails said checking the scanners.

"Meaning Rose is probably there." Hope said.

"Chairman Rose…" Mari said, remembering her loss against the man. "No…things are different from back then." she reminded herself. "I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice."

"We still need to get to him in Hammerlocke. Meaning…" Jexi said as they saw the Dynamaxed Pokémon stomping around. "We gotta cross the Wild Area to reach him."

"Question: how the heck are we gonna get past all those kaiju?" DW typed.

"Maybe we could distract them." ZS said. "Give them a big target to focus on. One tough enough to hold them off for a while."

"Oh yeah? What do you have in mind?" Hope asked.

"Well, considering everything we go through, it's really not that much, but I think I should point out that one of Jexi's Perfect Links is the actual God of the Pokémon world." ZS pointed out.

"Not exactly." David said. "Many people get this wrong, but-"

"I don't mind being the fighter this time around." Jexi said. "I'll knock them down and you all scoop them up. Sounds like fun." he said as he sent out Arceus. "Let's do this…my link." he said as both he and Arceus entered the fray of battle.

Everyone followed after the two as they came towards a Dynamaxed Gyarados and Torkoal.

"Water and Fire…in that case…" Jexi said as Arceus changed into a yellow color before striking the two of them with electrical shots.

"The heck? Is he doing a speedrun of this?!" Ruby said.

"Yeah…that sounds like something he'd do." Yang said.

"Hey, I'm not complaining." Mermista said as she caught the Gyarados Arceus blasted. "He sets 'em up, we catch 'em."

"Hey, you're right! Whatever Pokémon Jexi and Arceus knock down, we can catch!" Scorpia realized.

"It's a Dynamax Catching free for all!" Frosta declared.

"Let's get catching, then." David said as he scooped up the beaten Torkoal.

The group quickly followed after the two as there was another two-on-one with Conkeldurr and Dusknoir as Arceus blasted down both of them after changing into a Dark type and then Psychic, plowing right through them. They then reached another two Pokémon, this time being Gigalith and Froslass, which Arceus easily handled by becoming a Fighting type and then a Fire type.

"This is nuts….they're clearing through like it's no issue." Merrin said.

"No surprise. The two of them do share a strong bond after all." Dan said.

"They're able to switch between the powers of the Plates so effortlessly." Noel said.

"We're coming on Hammerlocke now!" Hope said as they saw Jexi and Arceus battling with a giant Haxorus.

"Let's give it…all we got!" Jexi called out as Arceus became a Dragon type and shot down Haxorus as the two of them rushed right into the city.

The group ran towards the Hammerlocke Gym where a bright red light pulsed out from it.

"Something's pumping out an insane amount of Galar Particles from the power spot here in the stadium." Kokonoe said.

"How did Cipher make Rose do this? Without Eternatus, a mass outbreak of Dynamax Pokemon makes no sense." Titanica said.

"Unless they're using something to force an effect similar to it." Mari explained.

"But what would that even be? The power spots themselves, or another machine to harnes Galar particles just like with Eternatus?" Glimmer asked

"The what doesn't matter. If we can shut it down, all the Pokemon will revert to normal." Mari said.

"Righty-o." Glimmer said as they barged into the gym and saw a large machine pumping out the particles. "Oh…Mari was right. It's here…"

"And it's being guarded." Mari added as the group saw the mind-controlled Oleana and Rose standing in front as they both sent out Garbodor and Copperajah respectively.

"Alright Mari, you're on!" Weisz said.

"This is your chance at redemption, isn't it?" Miu asked.

"Yeah. Time to do it right this time." Mari said. "You guys deal with Oleana in the meantime."

(Cue: Battle! Chairman Rose - Pokemon Sword and Shield)

Mari walked up to face Rose and Copperajah.

"Back when we first faced you Rose, I let my anger get the best of me and got Mercury hurt when he couldn't handle it. But this time, Rose… This time, I won't make that mistake. This time, I'm coming at you full force." Mari said.

Rose simply smiled as he held his Pokéball in front of Copperajah.

"He's not starting with Copperajah?" Al asked.

The Pokeball containing said Pokemon, enlarged and turned pink before he tossed it back out, and standing before Mari was a Gigantamaxed Copperajah.

"No, he Gigantamaxed!" Klonoa said.

"So? I'm not afraid." Mari said. "Besides, it gives me a chance to use this." she said, pulling out a small grey candy. "Ready, Mercury? This is what we practiced for!"

Mercury leaped out of Mari's hair and glomped onto the the grey candy just as Mari tossed it. He then glowed brightly, and now stood there in his evolved form.

"Mercury evolved into Melmetal!" Gemini said in surprise.

"That's surprising. You were so adamant about keeping it unevolved before." Tsumugi said.

"I'll explain the details later. For right now…" Mari started, holding a Pokéball as it sucked Mercury in before enlarging and glowing pink. "Here we go!" she called, tossing it into the air.

To everyone's surprise, Mercury emerged from the Pokéball and Gigantamaxed just like Copperajah. In his Gigantamax form, Mercury's dark-gray hexagonal nuts are now embedded as five fingers for his hands, two for the feet, two underneath the shoulder, and two connecting the shoulder to a large golden nut at the center of its chest. A silver hexagonal nut is located on his abdomen, and it has a large red tail resembling an electrical wire located behind it. The head is shaped like a knight's helmet with three red clouds surrounding it. Inside is a smaller golden hexagonal nut, with a glowing red and gray sphere floating in the center of it.

"Holy crap! Melmetal can Gigantamax?!" Bow asked in shock.

"Ash, did you know about this?! You own one too!" Eddy asked Ash K.

"Don't look at me, I didn't even know he could do that!"

Even Mari was in shock, expecting Mercury to Dynamax normally. Her Syega comm then got an alert as she looked at it.

"Melmetal Gigantamax Update: In a distant land, there are legends about a cyclopean giant. In fact, the giant was a Melmetal that was flooded with Gigantamax energy." it said.

"(He even has a new G-Max Move coupled with Double Iron Bash. I'll have to wait for the right time to use it.)" Mari noted in thought. "Use Max Knuckle!" she called as Mercury attacked Copperajah with one of his fists, decking it across the face and dealing a supereffective hit.

"Use G-Max Steelsurge." Rose responded as Copperajah prepared to strike.

"(Now!) Use G-Max Meltdown!" Mari called as Mercury sent out a wave of erupting metallic spikes before two larger ones erupted underneath Copperajah, defeating it.

Mercury reverted to normal size before spitting the candy he ate out and comically deflating like a balloon back into Meltan.

"Success! I was able to make a Meltan Candy that temporarily evolves a Meltan into Melmetal as long as they have it in their body." Mari said as Mercury climbed up her and into her hair as he poked his head out. "Nice job, little buddy." she said, hi-fiving him with her index finger as his head spun in affection.

Meanwhile, the others were busy dodging attacks from Oleana's Gigantamax Garbodor.

"Okay…let's end this." Titanica said as she unleashed a Gigantimaxed Cinderace. "G-MAX Fireball!" she called out as Cinderace went and sent Garbodor crumbling down to the ground.

"Well that is what we call fast. So then…" Jexi said as the group administered the cures to Rose and Oleana before destroying the machine and stopping the forced Dynamaxing.

"And another region has been liberated!" Ash K said.

"Let's see… I think this means all that is left is Paldea." Meitenkun said.

"Damn right it is." Mark stated. "We need to get going ASAP."

"Right. We got a bunch of kids to save." Scarlet said.

"You sure you're going to be alright, Penny? It's all but guaranteed that we'll have to battle it out with your friends." Pearl pointed out.

"I know. But this whole situation with Cipher renders the rules of Team Star exempt. If fighting them is the only way to get them back to normal, then I'll give it all I can." Penny said. "Besides…I have plenty of rage towards that old geezer Evice to draw on. Might as well use it for something productive."

"...I am so proud of you right now." Mark smiled.

"I like to think I get all this from you, Mark." Penny said before looking ahead. "Alright everyone! Let's head to Paldea! Giacomo, Mellie, Atticus, Ortie, Eri… we'll be right there, just hold on!"
