Author's Note:

Since this chapter features an escape, this is where "Getting Past Security," from "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," will come in to play.

The sun was starting to set as Nick and Nack left Paramount's Great America to Maximilian Enterprises.

"You actually think the Princess will take something from one of her kidnappers?" Nack asked, looking at the big stuffed bear Nick was holding.

"Well, it's worth a try, isn't it?" Nick asked back.

Nack stared at him, then said. "Fine. Give it to her if you want to. But I'm warning you. You're setting yourself up for disappointment."

At the dungeon level inside Maximilian Enterprises, Serafina was using her claws to pick the lock of the cell she and Anneliese were in.

"Good girl, Serafina." Anneliese said to her cat once they were free.

She scooped Serafina in her arms and quietly made her way to the exit, just before Nick and Nack got out of the elevator, where Nick pushed the big stuffed bear out…and gasped on seeing the open cell, at which Nick and Nack stared, then said to each other. "You let the Princess get away!"

At the same time, Preminger was rushing to get to Maximilan Enterprises, but ended up getting stuck in traffic, unaware that Julian was behind him, not knowing, himself, that Mr. Maximilian's limousine was behind him.

Once she was outside Maximilian Enterprises, Anneliese noticed a loose hooded sweatshirt, which she quickly put on, and ran out of the Great America parking lot, calling for a...

"TAXI!"

On seeing her, the taxi driver stopped in front of her, asking. "Where to, miss?"

"To Audubon Elementary School." Anneliese instructed as she got in the taxi with Serafina, just before hearing the alarm sounding inside Maximilian Enterprises.

"And hurry!" she added.

Nick and Nack had rushed outside the building, only to see the taxi being driven away, with Anneliese and Serafina inside.

Nack groaned once the taxi had disappeared.

"We're dead, aren't we?" Nick asked before hearing Preminger's car horn honking.

Nick and Nack ran back inside through the lobby, but as Nack pushed the down button on the elevator, they heard an angry voice call out. "YOU IDIOTS!"

On seeing Preminger inside the building, Nick waved nervously while Nack said. "Uh, evening, boss. Everything is fine here. Fine, fine, fine, fine. Just fine! See ya soon."

But as he and Nick made their way towards the open elevator, Midas got in their way, barking at them.

"Uh, nice doggie." Nick said as he and Nack backed away from the poodle. "Good dog…oof!"

"I can figure out how the Princess escaped you fools!" Preminger said as he pulled his henchmen closer to him by their shirts. "But why didn't she tell the Queen she'd been captured?"

He let Nick and Nack go roughly, pondering. "Hmm, something strange is going on here. And it must be figured out if I'm ever going to be king."

Julian, who had already snuck inside the building, couldn't believe what he was hearing while hiding behind a potted plant.

"King? Preminger?"

As Julian leaned closer, the potted plant fell forward with a loud crash, giving away his hiding spot.

"Oi!" Nick called, pointing at Julian.

On seeing him, a weird-looking secretary pushed a button, sounding the alarm.

"Intruder alert! Intruder alert!" a voice called from the speakers.

All at once, an army of alien-looking guards, swarmed the lobby, pointing their spears at Julian.

"Lower your weapons!" ordered Preminger.

The guards did as they were told while he walked past them, asking. "Looking for something, Julian?"

"How can you be king?" Julian asked back before he felt getting tased…by the short end of Mr. Maximilian's cane.

As Julian collapsed on the floor, Mr. Maximilian approached him, saying. "And I thought tutors had answers to everything."

Mr. Minimum snickered wickedly as everything around Julian went black.
