Volume 3, Chapter 10:
There's no classic adventure than one with large mountains, clouds, fog, and adventurers. These adventurers however, weren't your typical ones, but the quest remains the same as most people. That would be the ultimate TARDIS team of The Doctor, Dalek Khan, and Team RWBY who were hiding behind a large boulder after placing fresh food for a creature they are looking for: A dragon made out of bones and a fire that blasts like lava. Their goal was to distract the dragon and enter the cave to see a mythical waterfall. 10 minutes have past and not much has happened.
Weiss: How long did you say it would take for the Skullion to sense the food?
The Doctor: It shouldn't have taken this long. They have considered having the strongest nose to smell anything that's fresh within seconds and from 30 miles.
Blake: I for one am so glad I did not forget to put on perfume.
Yang: *sighs happily* The smell of lavender is like heaven.
Blake blushed at the compliment from Yang but a loud gasp from Ruby startled everyone and looked over to see her just playing Pokémon with Dalek Khan which made everyone facepalm at the false scare.
Ruby: No fair! How are you making these small Pokémon stronger and unstoppable than all the heavy hitters I have.
Dalek Khan: It is called preparation Ruby!
The Weapons duo continued to clash in the game while the others continued to inspect for the dragon until Weiss's scroll began to ring as she quickly pulled it out and muted it but noticed it was Winter calling her which meant to talk or training session. However, a cold chill was felt by everyone followed by a low growl as all eyes were widened followed by a disappointed sigh by the Doctor.
(Don't Stop Me Now by Queen)
The Doctor: It's right behind us isn't it?
Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive a-a-live
Everyone slowly turned around to look up and noticed the Skullion was watching them the whole time and preying on them from the thick fogs covering the land. If there's one thing they hated now, it would be fog.
And the world, I'll turn it inside out, yeah
I'm floating around in ecstasy
Ruby: Doctor...
So (Don't stop me now)
Weiss: Run?
(Don't stop me)
The Doctor: Run!
'Cause I'm having a good time
Having a good time
I'm a shooting star, leaping through the sky like a tiger
Defying the laws of gravity
The TARDIS team leaped from the boulder and made a run for it as the Skullion roared and blasted its lava fire towards them. The scenery changes from the Skullion island to Atlas Academy as Team RWBY while exhausted and a bit smoked just finished their training with Winter as she noticed their looks and exhaustion.
I'm a racing car, passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go, go, go, there's no stopping me
Winter: May I ask what exactly where you four doing before coming LATE to training?
Weiss: Busy!
Team RBY: Adventure!
Weiss facepalmed while Winter only gave them a suspicious look. And from Atlas Academy to the TARDIS for more adventure as it seems time froze each time they got in.
Yang: Where to next Doc?
The Doctor: A space ocean kingdom of Fish people.
Blake: What are they like?
The Doctor: Fish. And people. In a translucent ocean that resembles space!
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees, that's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man outta you
Despite truly looking like they were floating in space; it truly was a clear ocean with fish and people as Team RWBY swam along and had the time of their lives before ambushing the Doctor and dragging him into the water as well for all laughs. The next day after morning lectures and daily patrolling, the girls ran back to Atlas Academy and towards the TARDIS for more adventures without knowing they are being watched by Winter.
(Don't stop me now)
I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball
(Don't stop me now)
If you wanna have a good time, just give me a call
(Don't stop me now)
'Cause I'm having a good time
(Don't stop me now)
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all, yeah
Back at Atlas Academy, more training for Team RWBY as Winter watches this time and notices the lack of energy from the girls and not to mention all of them having a bit of wet hair. It was beginning to frustrate her that they were spending too much time with the Doctor and not focusing on the training.
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars on a collision course
I am a satellite, I'm out of control
I'm a sex machine, ready to reload like an atom bomb
About to oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, explode
The Doctor: KEEP RUNNING!
The next trip wasn't the best at all as a simple ship exploration turned into a battlefield by the time the gang arrived which led to them running back to the TARDIS except for Ruby and Dalek Khan who stayed behind to fight which led the others to run back and get them.
Weiss: How much further?
The Doctor: TARDIS has got to be round this corner. I hate battlefields. Don't you hate battlefields?
Team RWBY: YEP!
The Doctor: Just keep running!
I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees, that's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you
Each adventure with the Doctor would exhaust Team RWBY even more when they return to the Academy. The next day was perhaps the clear sign was a drained and tired Team RWBY lost a quick battle to Team JNOR which disappointed Winter even more especially that the girls did not care much as they ran out of the room to snooze for a bit and continue more adventures with the Doctor. For them, it was a needed break from everything that's happened since the Fall of Beacon and things that are still to come. And for the Doctor, that feeling of loneliness was disappearing because he had his new family. The next adventure was perhaps one of their favorites yet.
(Don't stop me, don't stop me, don't stop me)
Hey, hey, hey
(Don't stop me, don't stop me, ooh, ooh, ooh)
I like it
(Don't stop me, don't stop me)
Have a good time, good time
(Don't stop me, don't stop me) Woaaaaaaah!
The four girls cheered out loud as they were at one of the biggest space concerts with different aliens and people from across the universe. And the cheering was for the Doctor as he played a solo part with his guitar displaying his incredible playing skills. However, for Weiss, it was getting too much for her considering the Doctor did not have a coat at all and wore sunglasses to make himself look cooler but it was going to make her faint. The Doctor continued going all out on his guitar solo causing a huge eruption of cheers from the crowd and causing Weiss to finally faint.
Oh, I'm burning through the sky, yeah
Two hundred degrees, that's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit (Hey)
Travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man outta you (Hey, hey)
That night was never going to stop as there were a bunch of fun activities and events going on besides the concerts. Team RWBY had their share of fun with getting on rides, playing arcade especially Ruby and Dalek Khan who went on to win a Tag Team Video Game Tournament, trying new foods and drinks which somehow tasted much better than anything in Remnant. It was truly all fun and games for the Doctor and Team RWBY.
(Don't stop me now)
I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball
(Don't stop me now)
If you wanna have a good time, just give me a call (Ooh, alright)
(Don't stop me now)
'Cause I'm having a good time (Hey, hey)
(Don't stop me now)
Yes, I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all
The TARDIS made its return to the dorm room of Team RWBY as they all bid goodnight to the Doctor as Weiss shared a quick kiss with him before exiting out of the police box and disappeared as Team RWBY instantly knocked out with their casual outfits on.
Ah, da, da, da, da
Da, da, ah, ah
Ah, da, da, ah, ah, ah
Ah, da, da
Ah, da, da, ah, ah
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
The next morning, it's been two hours since Team RWBY needed to report for lecture then patrol. They never showed up which caused confusion among everyone except Winter, for she knew exactly who to blame for this. Marching outside of the Academy, she spotted the TARDIS and knocked aggressively on the doors.
Winter: DOCTOR!
The Doctor: *opens the doors* Oi! Careful with her! She doesn't like hard hits.
Winter: *walks inside and looks around then looks at him* You need to stop.
The Doctor: I beg your pardon?
Winter: I do not mind at all if it was only one day that people don't show up to report but A WEEK?! You have been taking these girls time away from something important and serious for your own silly travels.
The Doctor:*crosses arms* If anything Winter, I have been giving them time to relax themselves and give them time to enjoy because ever since Beacon fell, they have not stopped. Believe me I've seen it and I haven't stopped either.
Winter: You have not stopped because you are not strong enough to handle it on your own!
The Doctor: If I wasn't strong enough to handle it on my own, I would have been dead a long time ago. As a matter of fact, Remnant would no longer exist, and we would not have this discussion at all.
Winter: What are you even talking about?
The Doctor: Winter, I'm a time traveler. I see it all and sometimes I'm a part of it. Dr. Pavel's attacks on the Schnee, Weeping Angels, Fall of Beacon, the Void, the Daleks, and Salem herself. I have dealt with the most difficult universal situations that humans like you would not be able to handle. Team RWBY has seen it all and they have been a big help in making sure Remnant lives on and so does the universe. Hadn't it been for them to save me, we would all be dead. And during all that time, we didn't stop for a second... ..to say, what the hell? We needed a small break Winter, a break from all the threats we've faced and all the challenges we have dealt with here. They may be drained and less energetic but believe me it is very much worth it to them because YOU lots push them past their limits like if they are soldiers. They don't need to be soldiers! They don't want to be soldiers! All they want to do is bring good, bring hope, keep your home safe.
Winter: Perhaps we aren't as prepared for threats from out there as you are. But here, you don't know what we've dealt with for decades! For decades, Remnant as been a battlefield.
The Doctor: Does everything have to involve soldiers and battlefields?
Winter: IT'S NOT OUR CHOICE!
The Doctor: I know. And yet you have never considered finding a way to change this or to even think that just maybe...all this bloodshed and destruction isn't the right solution to defeating Salem.
Winter: What...
The Doctor: Salem gets defeated. There's your answer. The answer that you, Ironwood, and everyone else has been dying to know. She loses in the end Winter but not like this. Not like how you are picturing it.
Winter: Then tell me how?
The Doctor: I can't. Events that have yet to occur but are to be done beforehand can cause ripples across the universe destroying everything and everyone. That is why I'm here now telling you to start changing your ways.
Winter: Look at that. How can you be of such help when you can't even help us defeat our biggest threat for such a long time.
The Doctor: Cause and Effect. Should have learned that when you were little but then again, you were desperate to leave home not realizing that besides the bastard that is your father, you left your mom and siblings-
Winter: KEEP MY FAMILY OUT OF YOUR MOUTH! And I suggest you stop bringing Team RWBY to your adventures before I start pushing the buttons around here.
The Doctor could only watch in disappointment as Winter marched out of the TARDIS, fumed by this heated argument with him. Both were in the right and in the wrong but how this grudge would end is unknown. Ace-Ops watched from inside the Academy with Harriet the only one having an approval of Winter's action while everyone else looked concerned, especially Marrow. He needed to reach out to Team RWBY as soon as possible. As for the Doctor, he went back to investigating an unidentified spaceship that crashed not far from Mantle and proceeded to send the file to Willow Schnee in hopes that maybe she could find some more information as to what crashed in Remnant along with a simple but clear message: "Oldest Daughter came to visit. She does not like me"
Once Team RWBY woke from their long slumber after the amazing time they had last night with the Doctor. They reported in and apologized for sleeping in which Clover did not mind at all, but Winter did which had the girls go through 2 hours of training which to everyone's eyes including Harriet was a little too much. The girls were all sore and resting as Marrow approached them with drinks.
Marrow: Long night I presume?
Ruby: It was worth it!
Marrow: The training or long night.
Team WBY: Long night.
Ruby: Both.
Yang: *drinks my soda* Gah. I kinda saw this coming but to have you go through it as well was a surprise Weiss.
Weiss: I'm sort of used to it now. Plus it's sort of better to be with you guys than get special treatment.
Marrow: Well about that...
Blake: Wassup?
Marrow: *scratches back* Most of her anger came from a heated argument she had with the Doctor.
Team RWBY: WHAT?!
Weiss: W-What happened?
Marrow: Winter was pretty mad with him because of all the time you guys have been with him and losing time to train and patrol. We saw her march into the TARDIS then about 5 minutes later she marched out more pissed while the Doctor watched and closed his doors.
Yang: That's not good at all.
Weiss: She's taking this a little too seriously. *sighs* I get how things roll here in Atlas but...we've been at this for quite some time. We've already gotten that intense field experience at Beacon and on our own.
Ruby: Plus, we've fought aliens. No one else has had that privilege.
Marrow: I be careful if you guys try to go out with the Doctor. She's got eyes everywhere and she's planned to keep you guys here all day.
Weiss: *groans* As if back home wasn't enough. *Stands up* I like to see her try.
Weiss made her leave as Team RBY looked at each other and shrugged as they joined Weiss as well in going to meet up with the Doctor despite Marrow's protests. As they made their way outside, Weiss turned around to look up to see her sister watching them which concerned and annoyed Weiss.
The Doctor: Have there been any reports or other camera angles that perhaps capture this ship crashing?
Willow: The only one I was able to get clear access is the one I sent you of Mantle's National Park where the camera spots the ship crashing down for a few seconds before it's out of frame. Doesn't look like a Slitheen ship or a Dalek ship.
The Doctor: The shape of the ship looks like a pillar. I'll have to set out and investigate myself.
Willow: What about the girls?
The Doctor: With the recent argument I had with your oldest daughter, I highly doubt she would let them come.
Willow: It's...veen difficult trying to raise her and keep her with everything that happened here at home. She's pushed herself too much and has kept that mindset. I've tried reaching out to her, but it would only be little to no time for interaction. Don't go too hard on her Doctor, she is not like Weiss where there was time to change nor like Whitley as to following Jacques's role.
The Doctor: I understand Willow don't you worry. Are you still thinking about bringing back UNIT?
Willow: Still working on how to bring it back in today's time. Besides you five and myself, there aren't much people that could help like the days of working with my father.
The Doctor: I may have met someone here who would be interested. Anyways, I'm going to investigate the crash; If you happen to find anything else, let me know.
Willow: Will do Doctor!
The Doctor finished his call with Willow Schnee as Team RWBY entered the TARDIS. The girls noticed it was very quiet this time which meant the Doctor was back into serious Doctor mode.
Yang: Eh,Wassup Doc?
The Doctor:*smiles and looks at them* Rise and shine you four. Hopefully you all had a good sleep.
Ruby: Best sleep in a while but at the same time, couldn't stop thinking about last night! Where's Khan by the way?
The Doctor: In his room, zapping the trophy you two won last night to have your name and his.
Ruby: Awesome! Let me go- GAH! *Gets grabbed by my hood*
Weiss: Not so fast. *sighs* We heard...there was some things going on with you and my sister.
The Doctor: I really don't know if you from Beacon or your sister is the real Ice Queen.
Weiss: *annoyed* Just answer!
The Doctor: Your sister claims that I have been making you four lose time, lose focus on the real situation out there. She claims that simply because I am an advanced alien that know how things go around the universe, I do not know how things go here in Remnant.
Yang: I'm sorry Weiss, but your sister is going a little too low on this. First off, you have not been making us lose focus. We all know stopping Salem is our biggest priority, we still have a long way to go but what we've been doing recently has just been a small break. Like a calm before the storm.
Blake: Not to mention, we made a promise that you were never going to feel alone, especially with us. We don't want those words of Uncle Howdy to remain in your head. Just because you're a time lord doesn't mean you're an outcast! Winter hasn't seen what we've seen.
Ruby: They're both right. Doctor, you have made such an impact on so many people including us. Imagine that a small town drew your TARDIS in a wall of heroes and inspiring people, that night Beacon fell, you gave people hope. Yes, the Grimm are still out there and many of them but the fact that you have given people hope sparks something that'll keep getting bigger and bigger. Like Yang said, we know the main mission here of Salem but these adventures haven't just been breaks, they've been lost time we are recovering from the time we were all apart from each other. We had so much planned before all of this happened, then we didn't see each other for over a year, and when we reunited, the troubles didn't stop. So now, here we are achieving that promise of travelling all across time and space and enjoying some free time!
Weiss: *sighs* I know Winter and I know how she can be, what she follows, what she tries to pass around, but even sometimes there are limits. I'm not saying she's in all the wrong but she's neither in the right. There will come a time when we won't be able to do this much anymore because we will have obstacles in life come to us. But even for right now, doing these adventures...they mean a lot to us as well.
Yang: Weiss rebelling against her own sister?! *gasps* Plot twist!
Weiss: Shut up Yang! So, where to next?
The Doctor: Ah, I'm afraid there won't be any adventures for today. Been trying to investigate some alien activity with the help of your mother.
Weiss: My mom?
Blake: What's going on?
The Doctor: Then map from space to Remnant is my display while the surveillance is from Willow that she got from Mantle's National Park. There seems to be a spaceship that crashed here this morning in Mantle.
The four girls watched both footages and began their concerns as to what crashed here and whether these aliens were good or bad. They also began to investigate any details or clues that could give them a better idea.
Ruby: Daleks? Slitheen? The Master?!
The Doctor: None...thankfully. This ship does not look like a Slitheen or Dalek ship as it has a more pillar shape.
Weiss: An alien pillar spaceship. *thinks*
Yang: Why don't we pull the lever and go find out ourselves?
The Doctor: That depends if you're on a list of not leaving Atlas.
Yang: Screw this! I'm in for some alien investigation!
Ruby: Count me in!
Blake: Ain't no restrictions holding me back!
Ruby: Weiss?
Everyone looked at Weiss who had mixed thoughts about all of this. Team RBY were going to speak up, but the Doctor moved forward and grabbed her hand to comfort her.
The Doctor: Weiss, you don't have to come with us if you feel forced. The choice is yours and I'll respect it. I know she's your sister and you've been wanting to find her.
Weiss: *breathes and looks at him* You are right. I have been wanting to find her and here I am...but they haven't been exactly as I hoped. Plus, it's hard to resist an adventure in the TARDIS and if there's alien activity going on. I'm In!
The Doctor smiled as well as Team RBY as they held on while the Doctor pulled the lever down as the TARDIS began to dematerialize. Winter watched with a disappointed sigh before walking away. About a minute or two, the TARDIS made its landing at Mantle's National Park as the crew got out and looked around.
Weiss: Where's the crash site?
The Doctor: About-
*BANG!* *POOM!*
Everyone immediately ducked down as they heard firing shots happening not far from the crash site. By the sounds, it was two different weapons firing towards each other. The Doctor knew this be the only opportunity to get close even when it's a huge risk, so he made a run for it.
Weiss: DOCTOR!
The Doctor continued to make his run towards the gunfight until one blast almost hit him which made him stumble a bit. He saw another blast coming towards him until something gold covered him and blocked the shot. He looked up to see Weiss using her time wings to cover him.
Weiss: IDIOT! You could have gotten yourself killed!
The Doctor: Death is a complex thing for time lords.
The firing stopped as everything went quiet so the gang all made a run for it and reached the site of the gunfight but also spotted the spaceship right in front of them. It definitely crashed but seemed like it was trying to land. Team RWBY all observed the ship while the Doctor immediately knew what it was.
The Doctor: Oooooooh that's bad news...
Blake: More bad aliens?!
Ruby: Can we get more good aliens for once!
The Doctor: No! No! They're not bad aliens...but this ship does contain bad aliens...as prisoners.
Team RWBY: What?!
The Doctor: I know very well what this ship is. And if there was a gunfight right here in front of the ship...we're in trouble...
Noises suddenly came from the bushes as Team RWBY pulled out their weapons as they waited for which of the aliens would be coming out. They heard a weapon activate from behind as they quickly turned around to see a large, bulky builds creatures with black, bulky armour with heavy boots and a large black helmet covering its head.
SCO BO TRO NO FLO JO KO FO TO TO!
Ruby: Doctor?...
The Doctor: That...is a Judoon...and that's their ship.
Judoon: TO SHO FRO SO ZO TO!
