Summary:

Gabriel lost his wife because of the broken miraculous. He also ended up sick trying to save her, and so as to protect his son, he pushed him away, not wanting him to see him sick. But while all he did, he did it to protect Adrien, that just made their relationship deteriorate with time.

It was a quiet noon in Paris, Ladybug and Queen Bee had just finished their patrol. Hawkmoth's attacks had started over two years ago, every day, the man made his desire to get his hands on the miraculous of creation and destruction known.

At first, Ladybug protected the city with Viperion. But despite this, Viperion was never seen, for he felt more comfortable working from the shadows. But after an incident, he had to leave Paris and was shortly replaced by Queen Bee.

At the same time Hawkmoth had appeared in Paris, so had Mayura in London, it was this what had led Master Fu to send Viperion to London, this way, he would be able to help Chat Noir and Bunnix. Even if the damage done by the sentimonsters couldn't be completely fixed, rewinding time and knowing the future would certainly help reduce the damage.

Now it was a whole lot calmer than it had been two years ago though, there were less attacks in Paris, but it didn't seem to be because of some sort of decrease in negative emotions, it was as if… time itself had to do with it.

"Hey, Ladybug… have you ever wondered if our miraculous are connected to others?"

"What do you mean by that, Queen? In theory, the kwamis are." She turned to look at her companion, noticing her faraway look.

"No, I mean other boxes, not just the one we know. I know that it's not possible, that there aren't any more left after what happened, but I meant communicating with other holders without having them added."

"Hmm… I don't think so, if it was possible, we would have known it by now. Why did you suddenly think of that?"

"I don't know, shower thoughts?" She smiled lightly, it was more than that.

Ladybug crossed her arms over her chest, giving her a playful smile. She enjoyed messing with her.

"Wow, I didn't know you could think."

"Hey! You insult me, of course I can think!" Queen Bee protested, chuckling, not really taking the comment to heart, she knew Ladybug liked messing with her. "That you can't see it is another thing." She added, crossing her arms over her chest and faking indignation as she looked away.

"Well, of course I can't see it, I don't have x-ray vision."

"Stop!" She tried to hold her laughter, but at the end, she failed, it was impossible to deal with her.

"Alright, alright, but let's test your theory." Ladybug told her, pulling out her yo-yo, opening it to look through her contacts. "Let's see, there's Carapace, Master Fu and a few others that have nothing to do with the miraculouses."

"Let me check mine." Queen Bee said, taking her spinning top out and looking through her contacts, sliding up to the last of the contacts. "Huh? It shows some sort of 'sync more'."

"I saw it, but I would rather not press it, I don't think it might be that." It was best to be cautious.

"But think about it, we could find Hawkmoth."

"No, we are fine as we are, also, if we were to use your logic, he could-"

"Oops, too late, already pressed it." She smiled innocently, annoying her companion.

"Give me that." Ladybug took the spinning top from her, looking at the ones that now showed on the screen, very few had names and the rest were just the kwamis. "If Hawkmoth finds out about this, we are done for, he would know that there are more kwamis and he would look for them incessantly, just as he does with our miraculous already."

"I know, I know, but give me back my spinning top." Queen exclaimed, snatching it from Ladybug's hands, hugging it against her chest so she wouldn't try to take it away again. "If you wanna see, sync yours." She stuck her tongue out at her.

"No thank you, but seriously, Queen Bee, I'm being serious, be careful and don't call anyone. It could be dangerous." She narrowed her eyes, this wasn't a game.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." Chloé rolled her eyes, waving her hand around, giving it less importance than she probably should.

"Queen-"

The explosion that suddenly cut through Ladybug's words was music for the hero of yellow and black, for that just saved her from getting killed by her leader.

"We will talk later, for now, we gotta take care of this akuma." She stood up, approaching the place where the chaos was coming from.

Ladybug spent the entire fight warning her and scolding her. After they defeated the akuma, they reunited and gave each other a high five.

"Please, remember what I told you. See you tomorrow."

"Sir, yes, sir! I mean, ma'am, I won't call anyone." She stood up straight, holding her hand against her forehead like a soldier. Marinette wasn't quite sure whether she was messing with her or if she was taking this seriously.

"Whatever, goodbye." She let out a heavy sigh, she was exhausted.

"Goodbye!" Queen Bee also bid her goodbyes, this before they both parted ways.

Marinette was having a crisis at her house thanks to Queen Bee, she tried to relax, but all she could focus on was on the matter of the contacts.

"It's driving me crazy Tikkiiii!" She threw herself onto the couch of her bedroom, screaming into the cushion.

"Don't think about that, Mari, Queen Bee wouldn't be so careless. You have known her for two years already, and you know how much effort she puts in trying to make things right, she will listen to you."

"It's just that I can't stop thinking about that, she listens, but she is also curious because she tries too hard. All because of those who criticize her, I don't understand Paris, sometimes, they support her, but then they criticize her because they say I was better off alone, all because they don't know about Viperion, ugh, so annoying."

She messed up her hair and stared at Tikki silently for a few seconds. She trusted Queen Been, even though it was hard to adjust to her at first, once she did, they became an amazing team.

However, people criticizing her just made her nervous, making her make mistakes, but no one was perfect, even less her as Ladybug, she's messed up big time a dozen times.

She had noticed Queen had been a bit absent, most likely because of the matter they had been speaking of before the fight, it was partially why she couldn't get it out of her mind. Couldn't stop worrying.

"I'm gonna go mad." She buried her face back into the cushion with a groan, Tikki just watched her, unsure on what to say to her.

And truth was it, Chloe was dying of curiosity at home.

"Come on, Pollen, I promise I won't call anyone, I will listen to Ladybug, please let me transform, just for a moment." She begged with both hands, hoping to convince her.

"My queen, you will be in trouble if you do. I just want to avoid that. You also know you can't use your miraculous for fun or for selfish reasons."

"It won't be for that, I swear it will be quick, I won't do anything bad, I will give you lots of food if you want, but please, I'm begging you."

The kwami ended up releasing a heavy sigh, agreeing to her request, not for the food, but for her.

"Thank you!" Chloe quickly stood up, excited. She locked her door so no one would come in. "Now, Pollen, buzz on!"

Once transformed, she sat down at the edge of the bed, and without wasting a second, she began looking through the contacts which had arranged themselves in alphabetical order.

"Bunnix, Chat Noir, Jessica Kaynes, Mayura, Viperion… hmm… Chat Noir sounds familiar, but I can't figure out from where." She put the spinning top down and looked him up on her phone. "Oh, it's the London hero Adrien's mentioned." She grabbed her device/weapon, however, she touched the screen wrong and called the number. "What?! NOOOO!"

"Hello?"

The second she heard the voice, the second she ended the call, de-transforming just as quickly. As Pollen saw her expression, she knew she had fucked up.

"My queen?"

"I accidentally called the hero from London, Ladybug's going to kill me." She whispered, panic leaking into her voice as she let herself fall back on the bed. "What am I gonna do now, Pollen?"

"Don't ask me, I warned you but you didn't want to listen."

"I know, I know… I won't tell her anything, I can't do it, she's gonna kill me." She quickly got up, giving Pollen some food before going to the bathroom, she would definitely not say anything.

However, on the patrol the next day, she ended up confessing. Guilt threatening to consume her if she didn't say it once and for all.

"Ladybug, I have to confess something to you, I can't hide it anymore… Yesterday, I accidentally called one of the contacts."

"You did what?! Queen Bee! I told you not to do it! I'm gonna grow gray hairs at this point." She face palmed, unable to handle any more of the stress, last night she had had so much faith in her, just for it to completely disappear now.

"I didn't mean to! I'm sorry, really! I pressed it by accident while looking at who appeared, but I hung up immediately!"

"We can't afford to make mistakes like that, Queen." She said through gritted teeth, she was trying to keep herself calm, but it was impossible to understand her.

"I know! I'm really sorry, but the one I called was the hero from London, so nothing bad happened. Even if it does, I will handle it!"

"It's not about that Queen Bee, what would have happened if you had accidentally called Hawkmoth? Or Mayura? That could have been dangerous." She crossed her arms over her chest and turned her back on her, she had mixed feelings right now, she was angry, but she was also worried.

"But it didn't happen!"

"Luckily, but if that had been the case, they could have gotten your location, you, your family and everyone you care about would have been put in great danger." Unbeknownst to her, her words got Queen Bee's expression saddening.

"I know, and it's not something that I want, I don't even have much and I want to protect it…"

"I know, it's why I spent the whole night thinking about this. I couldn't think of a scenario where Hawkmoth doesn't find out our identities and our families and friends end up in danger. Where he forces us to give him our miraculous in exchange to spare them. The trust Master Fu put in us would be shattered if we were to make such a huge mistake just out of curiosity."

Marinette relaxed her arms and turned around to meet Queen's gaze, to see her so close to tears made Ladybug understand that she had finally gotten the point across, she felt guilty, but she had to understand that this wasn't a game, this was serious, someone could seriously get hurt, or worse, die.

"I'm sorry, really, I know that apologizing is pointless, but I promise you that from now on, I will think better before acting. I don't want my imprudence to affect others, even less the people I care about, they don't deserve it."

"It's alright, Bee, I see that you have finally understood, so I forgive you, but just this once, only because you called a hero, the heroes from London aren't the bad guys, as Master Fu said, we are on the same side." She put her hand on her shoulder, giving it a light squeeze, hoping to bring her some comfort through it.

She knew she was being a bit harsh, but she was just trying to protect her and keep her from doing something that might end up hurting her and those she cared about.

"Let's stay here for a while, we can patrol later."

Chloé nodded, blinking rapidly so as to get rid of the tears, refusing to cry there, she had to learn from her mistakes. La dybug was right, she had to be careful, she had to think about her father, about the people she cared about.
