In a garden with a small white table. A girl wearing a blue dress was having tea with a man wearing a gold outfit with a gold top hat. Complete with a golden top hat. The tea were having tea. But the girl dropped a fork she went to pick it up only for her and the golden hatter's hands to connect. She looked into to the bright shine of his yellow eyes and the two leaned in with their lips about to connect…catt woke up her hand on her mouth as her face was red….
"Was that…jon?" catt asked herself..steam came out her ears as she hid her face in her hands…she had a crush on jon…
Jon pov.
I noticed catt was acting weird today…wonder what's up. But i can worry about that later. As now the library is an urban legend.
"I've been meaning to ask for a while…but why are you two doing this? Considering that you revive those you think who were undeserving to die here. But why is the so called white messiah willing to kill people for the light?" roland asked.
"The white nights and dark days…they were my fault. The light was supposed to shine over the city for a whole week. But it was cut short thanks to an abnormality born from me. My hatred." i said.
"Yikes, who earned your scorn to the point where an abnormality was born from it? Your a pretty forgiving guy jon, so whoever this was must have been one massive prick." angelica said.
"The prick in question is named ayin…a selfish failure of a man who was so obsessed with succeeding where his girlfriend failed. That he brought back those I held dear by putting their brains in metal boxes. Ensuring they couldn't rest until Carmen's project finally succeeded. And just like what happened in the old lab…death, Suffering, For nothing! At some point the asshole realized that he can't do it even after god knows how many time loops…but instead of letting my friends rest…he figured that the one person who left the old lab alive could do it….he sent me a letter. And i took on the role of the manager of facility x-394." i said.
"Seeing your friends be turned into robots must have pissed you off huh?" roland asked.
"Yeah…even worse. They didn't remember me…but i did what ayin wanted…i got the light flowing, and i did it my way. I got everyone in the facility through it alive…and I turned my old friends back into human thanks to the light that exists within my body." i said as i showed the glowing light coming from my hand. "Not sure if this is due to a mutation of swimming in cogito or not and at the end of it i met the prick again. And i stabbed for every person he's wronged. Including angela who suffered the most by his hands…centuries of suffering and being treated awfully by the prick. Simply for not being another carmen. After that. Well the white nights soon began. However my hatred breeched and used the light to become the first armageddon class abnormality." i said.
"Wait…so that big monster that appeared in l-corps wing was because of you guys?" angelica asked.
"Yeah…we killed it before it could do any real damage. But it doesn't change the fact that the abnormality born from me reduced what we worked for to dust. And the dark days and distortions happened because of that. Which is why we're doing this now. Maybe if the light goes through as intended. The distortions will stop." I said. Angelica giggled.
"Always have to be noble huh? Guess that's why they call you the white messiah. Well we owe you..but remember. This makes us even!" angelica said with a grin.
"No wonder you and roland are together. Both of you seem to have a problem admitting how you feel. Is it really hard for you to admit we're friends?" i said with a smug grin. And got slugged in the arm by angelica. I laughed and rubbed my arm. Roland's woman can punch.
Time for another reception…the last member of streetlight office on his knees begging for help from two zwei members. Isadora and julia. Isadora is just annoyed at san asking for help. Being dismissive and harsh to san. I think the zwei just used streetlight office as cannon fodder. San mars and lulu. They were pushed in the water by the zwei and they just walked away when they were mauled by the sharks. And what pissed me off more was when isadora was only willing to help san when our library reached urban legend rank. Now that the bounties high enough now you want to help him? Oh, I'm going to enjoy booking her.
"Looks like an association is about to make their move." roland said.
"Well angela. You wanted more refined guests. We're about to get them. As now we have people coming here that are skilled. Have a clear head. And know what their getting into. Things are going to get more difficult." i said.
"Fine by me. The more valuable books. The more light we can get from them." angela said with a smirk.
"I've been wondering…it seems like ms library director and jon are rather close. Why is that?" angelica asked.
"Same reason you two are here…jon saved me from torment. He gave me hope…which is why i want to be by his side to the end…no matter what happens." angela said with a smile. I noticed the smirk on angelica's face.
"That almost sounded like our library director is in love with the white messiah." angelica teased. Angela's cheeks went red as her response was to warp away. Roland and angelica laughed…i rolled my eyes at their antics and went to greet our guests. It was just some generic zwei fixers. Not worth talking about.
The next reception looks like it is going to be san and julia. Needless to say. I'm keeping mars and lulu out of this one. Before they came here. Isadora gave a presentation on the distortion phenomenon. It was stuff i already knew mostly. About people turning into monsters. How it started thanks to the dark days and when a huge abnormality appeared at the center of l corp. Right where facility x-394 was. But what i didn't know and hit me like a brick was the death toll of the pianist. 20 percent of district 9's population died that night. Even though the toll would have been much higher if not for my intervention including roland's wife angelica…considering the kind of life roland has had. And how much angelica means to him…a lot more bodies would have been made as the pianist's last song gave birth to another equally terrifying monster. But still 20 percent of a district's population is still a lot of people. Either becoming notes or a part of the 6 armed freak's piano. I sighed. Another thing I learned is how the hana association sent a color fixer after it…had to be argalia. After all. Kali is dead as far as they know. I don't answer to them. And neither does iori as far as i know. And I have no clue who the black silence is. So the blue reverberation is the only one they can call on. They also mentioned about rumors about a blue haired ghost hunting and killing the distortions. They don't believe it but i could feel a grin on my face. That was me doing my part. And i'm also glad to know I managed to remain anonymous.
"Blue haired ghost?" angelica asked.
"That would be due to my E.G.O form. An armor formed from my own mind. That does bring up a question though…whatever happened with L-corp?" i asked.
"Their still around…and had several facilities built to contain pieces of jon's hatred. As it was a powerful abnormality. Every piece of it can create a tons more energy then 5 alephs combined." angela said.
'So that means l corp is still going strong despite what happened at x-394…it's only a matter of time before those parasites get greedy and want more." i said.
"You speak a lot of crap for the company you used to work for kiddo." roland said with a smug grin.
"The way i ran the facility, putting the lives of my employees over production speed got on the higher ups nerves a lot. They would call me and complain asking me to speed up production regardless of risk. My response would always be on the lines of "are you the ones going into rooms where the creature inside will probably kill you? No? Then fuck off you damn parasites"" i said.
"Surprised you didn't get fired for that." angelica said baffled.
"No one would take the job…so they were stuck with me." i said. After that. We greeted our new guests.
"Greetings dear guests. As one of you have been before. I'm sure you already know who we are. We know why your here. So step on through." angela said.
"Guess your getting sick of saying the same thing over and over…can't blame ya…anyway. May you find your book in this place." I said. Malkuth took this one. During it. I saw alex protect malkuth a few times. After the battle was over. Malkuth hugged and thanked alex. I saw a blush on his face. Something tells me romance is blossoming between those two. But in any case…with that done. I figured it was time for an increase in manpower. So it was time to tackle some abnormality fights.
I decided to tackle the one's on the floor of general works. The next ones were abnormalities that I didn't see during my time as the manager of x-394. I only really saw them in recordings of ayin's countless botched runs.
Heart of aspiration. In lobotomy corp. It was something an employee could pick up for a boost at the risk of going nuts if not returned to its place on time. But this time it took the form of a beast.
The next one was pinocchio. One i never saw in any of the recordings or my time as the manager. As expected of abnormalities based off of children's stories. This version of the story takes a much darker approach. Being a wooden doll with axes for hands being held by strings.
The last one on the floor of general works was the snow queen…a floating head robe and hands of ice holding a sword. The head has antlers of a deer. And there's nothing under that fabulous light blue coat.
With the abnormalities done. Roland's floor gained several abnormality cards that will come in handy down the line. And also his floor is the first to have a full party of five.
And boy was i happy to see bongbong and yumyum i was so happy to see them. I missed those two starry eyed weirdos. But the last one was another familiar face…kori. I chuckled at the irony that he returned when we defeated the ice queen…considering what he is. It turns i'm not the only powerful being walking the city that would no doubt have be marked for death by the fucking head if they knew about me or him. I remember the day i found out that i had an ice titan working for me around day 40. A massive breach happened. But when i came down there i saw kori and ciro walking away from all the abnormalities which were all frozen. I went back to angela and asked her if there was any e.g.o's that could freeze abnormalities.
"No…the snow queen's weapon. Frost pieces. Is the closet ego to something ice elemented. But it does not have the power to freeze abnormalities." angela asked. So i went to ask ciro and kori what they did. And ciro spilled the beans about what he and his big brother were. Just like me. They made sure not to do anything that would get the head's attention. Knowing what that's like. I kept their secret safe. And i'm glad to see him back. With him by their side. No doubt roland and angelica ain't losing any receptions from this point onwards.
Malkuth's group would be facing happy teddy bear fairy festival and queen bee. The same ones her team had to deal with back in x-394. But fairy festival went from little fat fairies. To lengthy abominations. The queen becoming this big creature with a big mouth covered in blood and four long limbs walking around like a bug. While the smaller ones are now spider beasts with a massive head covered in multiplied faces. With pale white eyes and sharp blood covered teeth.
As for new assistants. The first one was dakota…i figured the grumpy purple pigtailed girl would show up for malkuth. Though i learned a bit of why's grumpy…she worked for a workshop and got heavy weapon addiction…she was hoping to do what many others hope to do in the backstreets, make enough moolah to move to a wing with her siblings and folks..but her family was soon gone. Her brother was found dead with missing organs…her mother died on a job accident. With the people higher up not willing to tell the cause. Her little sister disappeared without a trace. Clearly kidnapped by some powerful people considering it was at a time where they should be many witnesses. And her father got the worst of it turned into a bloody meat tree. Well it's no wonder she was so quick to bust the employees balls if she found them lacking. After all she lost her family due to incompetence…was it incompetence or did what was considered the authority just didn't care about some girl from the backstreets family. But she was to see us again. She did have respect for me. Considering I managed to run the place without any casualties.
The next two was ciro. Guess if kori was here. His little bro wouldn't be far behind and lastly dana.
After that. I went to revive san and julia. I had mars and lulu in the room with me when i did it. San did indeed care for his two underlings considering the tear filled reunion. And i made the same offer as i do with everyone i revive. San was hesitant. But after some pushing from mars and lulu
"I'll work with you as well…if you promise to revive walter and isadora when they arrive." julia said.
"I'm guessing walter is the higher up isadora is going to talk too…alright. Even if I don't like isadora. I'll do it." i said.
"What's up with this disdain for isadora boss man?" lulu asked.
"I'm not a fan of people using others for cannon fodder. And honestly the way she talked to san here. It's obvious that you guys were just pawns to be sacrificed. She was only to willing to help out san here when the library reached the rank of urban legend. Only when the bounty got high enough for the zwei that she actually started to give a shit." i said. Lulu got mad. Mars looked to the ground. Guess he knew from the start. Julia did the same. More likely out of guilt. She knew that i was right. I can tell she didn't like that part of how the zwei operated. After that. I went to the floor of history. I noticed a heated conversation going on between angela and malkuth as i got close everything went dark…like they did back in x-394.
I saw probably the first days of when angela first awoke. As much as i hate benjamin for kissing ayin's ass…at least he tried with angela. He was actually nice to her. He tried…unlike ayin. Who never even looked at her. And dismissed her as "just a machine." she still held on to hope that if she had a kind heart. He would look at her…poor angela. Trying to get affection from a bastard obsessed with a dead girl.
"That was….just like back in the facility…her memories…leading too…malkuth! Get ready for a fight!" i yelled.
"You got lost in a sea of desolation and now you think you can lecture me? Are you trying to boast to me that you had someone to look out for you in the end?" angela said as her clothes turned into a flaming version of her own outfit. It seemed she was resonating with the abnormalities on this floor. "Don't be ridiculous." angela said.
"W-what's going on?" roland asked.
"She's having a meltdown…though it's different from the ones the sephirah had. She's resonating with the very abnormalities on this floor." i said extending my light blade. "Meaning we'll probably need to handle this like a suppression. Let's do this together, malkuth." i said.
"Got it jon. Here i come angela!" malkuth yelled. And thus began a long fight as angela copied the power and form of every abnormality leading to a long gauntlet. After defeating angela's fourth match flame form. She then took the form of the forgotten. Her face was dirty and hair was disheveled and she had the stuffed arms of the happy teddy bear. This was the easiest form to beat. But not the easiest for my poor spine. As she seemed to focus on entirely trying to hug me to death. The next form she took was wingbeat. Her hair was long. Her face had blood on it along with a small open mouth smile. The kind a psycho yandere has when she got the target of her affection in her sight. The next form was hornet. Angela's hair was done in a ponytail as she has a suit and wings like a bee. And a spear with the colors of a bee.
The last form was one in the form of snow white's apple. An abnormality i only of due to the recordings. Angela's green stem form had the hair of princess lost in the forest with wearing a red dress that was covered in green vines. Alongside holding a…lantern i guess. As it took the form of an apple wrapped in green vines as well. Two green vines was also blocking us meaning we had to chop them down to reach angela. After green stem was defeated. The place became flooded with light. As another flashback occurred. To a conversation that i had with angela. She brought the schematics for the nanomed stations.
"Thank you angela." i said.
"No need to thank me…i'm just a machine doing it's job." she said. I stood up.
"Angela…don't think of yourself like that…you think like a human. You feel like a human. You're human enough…and you're more than just my assistant. You're my friend. So don't consider yourself a machine. Cause i sure as hell don't…now could you bring isaac up here. I have an promotion with his name on it." i said. Angela nodded and went on her way. But it turned to what I didn't notice at the time…a smile. Everything went white again. But i heard angela's voice.
"I never told you…how much those words meant to me…how they made me feel…so warm…warmth i never felt before." angela said as the light faded and i found myself back in the floor of history. Angela soon got up from the floor.
"So this is what it feels like to have a dream. And to have a surge of emotions." angela said.
"Keep dreaming like that and you could bring down the whole library." roland said.
"Do you feel better now?" malkuth asked.
"Sorry about that…all this farce about being neglected or recognition from others. Just forget it." angela said. I shook my head.
"No…this was something you needed to get off your chest…all those years of suffering isn't going to heal just because of those 50 days we spent together…there's a lot we both have to get over…just remember angela…you're not alone. I'm always up to talk to you. Even if it's just to hear you vent. Never forget that." i said. Angela looked to the ground and blushed.
"I'll be sure to remember that." she said as she snapped away again. I heard malkuth giggle.
"You know…I saw and heard that flashback to you and angela…with around. I'll know she'll be find." malkuth said. I smiled and rubbed her head.
"Thanks for the confidence. Little sis." I said with a smile.
The next abnormalities we tackled were the ones on the floor of technological sciences. Forsaken murderer. All around helper singing machine. And the funeral of dead butterflies.
Most of yesod's assistants were employees from x-394 that i can't really remember anything about. But the last one took an interesting turn as once again no assistant came out of the book. But the light screen showed up. Showing the place that alex came from. This time it seems to be a heist that ends with only one survivor. A woman named uriel. Some naming as yesod back from his first life. And just like yesod. She was really bossy at work. A manager for a company. Her employees were annoyed. But she got shit done. However things went tits up for her when the ceo's daughter ended up on the team. She was a nasty spoiled brat. So spoiled in fact that she went to her dad and not only got her fired. But she and her dad bent over backwards so that she couldn't find a job anywhere else…talk about petty! The company soon went down the toilet soon after thanks to the daughters terrible leadership. But that didn't make her feel any better. She only felt bad for her colleagues considering their now jobless thanks to that idiot's leadership. But hey at least they can actually find work. Uriel had to resort to crime because she can't find good honest work thanks to that little bitches influence. And to make it worst. She lost the money she was stealing getting away from the authorities.
"Dammit….the rent's due…now what do i do?" uriel asked. And soon she felt something in her back pocket. And pulled out the invitation. With nothing to lose she signed it. And found herself in the library.
"Welcome to the library ." i said.
"I didn't think i'd find another armageddon knight here….so what trial do i have to overcome to get these books?" uriel asked.
"Actually. What we summoned you here for is to hire you. As an assistant librarian. You'll be paid handsomely for every guest you handle." i said.
"So basically. You want to hire me to be a gatekeeper…well beggars can't be choosers. I just hope the first guests show up soon…i'm going to get kicked out of my home if i don't have the money in three days." uriel said.
"Hmm…i see. Well you won't have to worry about that. Cause free room and board comes with this job." i said.
"Hmm…alright…you think you can warp in my belongings into my new room?" uriel asked.
"We can do that." i said.
"Just let me know when you need a skull cracked…oh silly me. I didn't get your name." uriel said.
"It's jon karakuer tenshi." I said.
"So this is where you ran off too desmond…" she said as headed to the floor of technological sciences. That got my attention…did she know my dad? After getting her stationed in. i went to check in on yesod. Roland and angela were there as well. As i approached everything went dark again. And i heard voices. Angela wanting to save and help the employees. But was forced to sit back and watch as they die. Energy collection above all else. As ayin and those parasites above. Forced to see all that death and could do nothing…so this is the hell that angela was forced to endure…watching people die…and can only watch.
"So this is where your oh so rational thoughts lead you? If you were going to lecture me, you should have demonstrated it yourself, you're all standing before me because your all bark and no bite. Price? Who do you think paid that price? Do you really think it was you?" angela asked with anger as she morphed into regret. Her hair becoming long and her wearing the straight jacket and mouth cover that you'd see at an asylum. With the metal ball attached to her leg via chain.
"Here we go again…yesod. Do you have my back?" i asked.
"Of course. Just like you had everyone's back at lobotomy corp." yesod said.
"Thanks…suppression start!" i yelled. Extending my light blade. After bringing down regret. We faced grinder mk 4 angela. She had her hairstyle back in x-394. But had a robotic body covered in blade with all around helper's blades coming out of her back and even had it's smile. And after that. Harmony angela taking the power of the singing machine. Her eyes were closed. And her face and long hair covered in dried blood. She was wearing what i would describe as a dark bard outfit. And complete with a guitar that had the singing machine design due to the body being one of the singing machines blades. The next form was solemn lament. Her hair was still long but had bangs this time complete with a black and white butterfly hairpin. Her outfit was something i could see her attending a funeral with. She had two short rifles in the form of the ego weapon we got from the funeral of dead butterflies. Whenever our bullets exploded against each other they turned to flocks of black and white butterflies. And the last but not least. Magic bullet. Angela's hair went back to being short but slicked back this time. Her eyes glowed and black flames emnated from her like the freeshooter did. She had the same blue ponch that the freeshooter wore. Her own black outfit underneath it. Once the magic bullet form was defeated. Everything went white…
An employee was about to be broken by a tight hug from the happy teddy bear. I quickly ran in and got the stupid bear to let go.
"Bad bear! Bad! Bad teddy! You okay?" i asked the employee.
"That stupid thing almost snapped me like kitkat bar. Thanks for saving my life manager." the employee said as he went off. I saved another employee from being flattened by the forsaken murderer. Another from being eaten by spider bud. Another from being pricked by porrcubus. Another employee from being cut in two by nothing there. And a lot more times i saved employees. And i got a call from the parasite up top. Who were not thrilled with me putting human life over energy production.
"If you want that energy so god damn bad! Then how about you come down from your ivory towers and go into those chambers yourselves!? You're still getting your energy. Even if it's slower. You money hungry parasite can go a few days without money to blow on yachts and hookers!" i yelled.
"Remember who gave you this job you ungrateful little shi-" the higher up yelled only for jon to abruptly hang up on them. I sighed sat down and rubbed his temples "maybe i'll take netzach up on his offer to drink." i said. I didn't but i was never going to bend the knee to those parasites…everything went white and I heard Angela's voice again.
"In this darkness…this hell. You lit a candle of hope. You did what ayin refused to do. And saved everyone when you were expected to let them die…you are a hero…you're my hero." angela said as I found myself back on the floor of technological sciences.
"This isn't good. I can't keep doing this every time. This isn't good." angela said.
"Have you come to this senses?" yesod asked.
"Yes, I have. It's rather irritating to be this sober. Actually." angela said annoyed.
"This was long overdue angela. You've hid your pain from everyone long enough. And it's time you let it out…and i'll be here to make sure you don't go too far…i'm your hero after all." i said with a smile. Angela's face soon glowed pink.
"A-all the more reason not to let it out…those are thoughts not meant for you to hear!" she yelled warping away. I soon got back to work.
3rd person pov.
"She's crushing hard on him huh?" roland asked with a grin.
"Oh that wasn't just crushing. director is in love!" angelica said in a mocking singing voice. Yesod sighed and shook his head.
"This isn't the gossip floor. Get back to work." yesod said with annoyance.
Jon pov.
The next day rolled around as i got dressed i was stopped by taii and rose.
"We need to talk jon!" taii yelled.
"About catt's crush on me?" i asked.
"No about ca-wait what?" rose asked.
"I'm not dense. I know how she and angela feels about me. But this conversation is going to have to wait until gebura wakes up." i said.
"Is gebura..your girlfriend?" rose asked in fear.
"Yeah..but she's actually okay with me having a harem…but only if she sets the ground rule of how it's going to work." i said.
"So this gebura…she's the kind of woman who will dominate you isn't she?" taii asked.
"I'm expecting my first time to end with a broken pelvis…" i said. Looking away. After that conversation. I got back to work. Ending with the final round against the zwei with isadora explaining how the library works to who i'm guessing is her superior walter. Of course walter sees that isadora just wants get julia's book. And instead of worrying about syndicates like the carnival or the musicians of bremen. Freaks will be facing in the future. Reminding her of their duty to protect their clients from the freaks. Of course things changed when walter found the invitation in his drawer and his interest was peaked thanks to the book of distortion.
"Damn angela way to lure in the big fish with the right bait." i said.
"I simply offered them what they needed at the moment. I'm better than anyone at understanding the situation at hand and coming up with an appropriate response." angela said with a smile.
"Precisely ma'am. You surely did come up with the proper solution to lure out the zwei." roland said.
"Still. We should really work ourselves to get stronger after this…no doubt some deadlier foes are going to be coming for us when we take out the director of the zwei association." i said angela laughed.
"You know who we have in this library jon…we'll be fine." angela said with a smile. And thus we warped to greet our new guests. "Greetings dear guests i am the d-" angela said. Her usual speech was cut off by walter.
"You must be angela. The director and librarian of your name. And this is your assistant jon correct?" walter asked.
"Indeed. It's just as you said." angela said.
"I need to ask white messiah…why are you doing this? Working for her and aiding in this bloodshed?" walter asked.
"Guess i shouldn't be surprised that the zwei know who i am. Several of your fixers probably saw me kill the distortions…as for why i'm doing this 1. To help my friends. 2. To put an end to the distortion phenomenon. And 3. To put down a zombie that's been haunting for several years." i said both walter and isadora raise their eyebrows at me. "Step through that door. The trial begins. Win. and you walk with away with the books you came for. Lose and your books for the collection. Also a quick warning. This trial will be harder for you two. Considering the streetlight office fixers you sent to their deaths…their waiting for you wanting some payback for being the pawns that you sent to their deaths." i said.
"We did no such thing!" Isadora objected.
"Really? Then why did you harshly reject san when you came to you for help. Only to change your tune when you found out that the library was now an urban legend? Only when the reward was worth your time did you actually care. Seems to be that you really did see streetlight offices as people you could use to test how shark infested the water was." i said.
"They were promised a reward if they succeeded it was a fair deal! Not exploitation!" isadora yelled.
"Just because you lured that donkey with a carrot doesn't change the fact that you let it off a cliff knowing damn well it was a cliff…but we need to end this argument. We got shit to do. So go on in already." i said.
"Fine…" isadora said with scorn in her voice.
"May you find your book in this place." me and angela said.
Walter and isadora faced malkuth and alex alongside the streetlight office members. And the firecracker lulu was out for blood going in hard enough with her bat to crack those zweihanders. She even managed to break through isadora's sword and san got his payback by slitting her throat. And alex held walter's sword while mars gave a heavy blow. Cutting him in two. And after the reception i did what julia asked. And revived the two and offered them the deal. They refused initially but julia was their malkuth you just can't say no to someone that cute.
So with the two new zwei fixers on our side. We moved onto to our next guests. This time a group of fixers getting on a warp train. The lady with the blonde hair in a ponytail with some sort of clever/buzzsaw hybrid was hungover. Threw a huge party that was reserved for her and her friends apparently. Apparently they got a job from myo…ugh. That fucking rabbit has been a thorn in my side ever since x-394 was destroyed. Especially when you consider she's cloned so i can't really get rid of her now matter how many i drop her ass. Anyway they got on the train and were across a young couple named tommy and merry. However the train stopped. And they were stuck there for 6 hours. Then 31 hours. All those people trapped on a train in the middle of warp space. Despite that nobody's feeling hunger or thirst. And they can't break down the doors due to how sturdy the train is. However one of the three members of molar office had an invitation to the library. Considering they'll take anything other than being trapped on that damn train. Not that I blame them.
"A malfunction on the warp train. If this got public. That would be a huge blow to w corp's reputation." roland said.
"I just hope those people get off that train eventually." i said.
"Yeah…those trains are supposed to arrive 10 seconds right?" angela asked.
"They say it's because of w-corp's singularity. Then can as the name says. Warp to point a to b in 10 seconds. Even one time I thought of stepping on. But my gut was telling me not to. So i gave my ticket to someone else. And went the long way." i said.
"Guess even singularity tech can fail some times" roland said.
"still…myo…ugh." i said.
"You know her?" Angelica asked.
"Ever since facility x-394 fell. R-corp has been hunting me. Probably thinking it's easier to kill me then pay the patent for my riot guard and heavy guard armors…they've been sending all three of their teams at me constantly." i said.
"And losing those teams doesn't cost them?" angelica asked.
"Normally it would. But not when their clones. I kill myo. The leader of the rabbit team. They'll have another one fresh out of the oven to slap some armor on give a rifle. So unless I destroy r corp. The hunt for me isn't going to end." i said.
"Still. It sounds like r corp and l corp had some dealings with each other." roland said.
"Yeah…but the rabbit team's service was one I barely used. Considering they'll wipe out everything in a room including abnormalities employees anything living. And as a guy that was dedicated to human life more than energy production you can see i didn't call the rabbit team very often." i said.
"You really are a shining of beacon of hope in this city jon." angelica said with a grin.
"Yep. now let's go greet our new guests shall we?" i asked. Angela nodded and warped us in front of the molar office.
"Greetings, dear guests." angela said.
"Good to see you too lassie. And who's the handsome guy next to you?" olga asked.
"Name's jon i'm her assistant." i said as i conjured up a glass of water with some alka-seltzer. I dropped the min the water and gave it to olga. "Drink this. It'll help you with your hangover." i said. She did as I said.
"Woo! Feel much better now! Thanks handsome." olga said with a wink.
"Anyway. Sorry to tell you guys this. But you just traded one bad thing for another. Cause now instead of being stuck on a train in the middle of nowhere. You're now fighting for your life for books. Step through that door. The trial begins. win, you leave with what you came for. Lose, and you three are now books on our shelves. You could turn back. But that'll just put you back on the train, sorry to say." i said.
"It's fine. Our mission was to come here anyway. Hope to see you on the other side handsome." olga said winking at me. I sighed.
"May you find your book in this place." i said.
Roland took this one. And of course they won. They have a cryogenic titan in their party. Still after the fight was over. I decided to revive the three fixers and made my usual offer.
"Also if you go on the floor of art. You'll find a guy there who will hook you with infinite beer." i said. Olga laughed.
"No reason to keep digging handsome! You already hit oil! You have a deal!" olga yelled while rain and mika facepalmed.
Our next reception was going to be a rough one. As this time we're dealing with a group of sweepers called the stray dogs. One of them named gyeong-mi is so goddamn violent even his two buddies dino and zulu clearly were annoyed how quickly he was to resort to beating someone to death. Apparently they were working for the gears church called before they were betrayed and half of them got wiped out they then made the deal with the zwei…the gears church…i thought i got rid of that fucking cult when i killed their leader. However it seemed as gyeong-mi has killed everyone they could interrogate. That's when the noticed the invitation.
"Syndicates kill more than they need to. Unlike fixer's they cause more trouble just because they feel like it." roland said.
"Yeah…this'll be fun." i said with a groan.
"Sweepers. I actually know about them." angela said.
"You mean those gas mask wearing freaks that attacked x-394 while was working their. The ones with the sickles and used human flesh to power themselves…their one form of sweeper syndicate. But as you see they come in many flavors. One such is angry ape!" i yelled. Angela warped us to greet those guests.
"Greetings dear guests my name is angela the director and librarian of my name sake. This is my assistant jon." angela said.
"Scratch that! Just let us in! We're in a hurry!" gyeong-mi yelled. Was that his attempt at a catchphrase.
"You're rather impatient i see" angela said.
"I said shut up! And let us in now" gyeong-mi yelled. I sighed.
"That way. Win and you get the books lo-" i said only to get punched in the face by gyeong-mi.
"Shut up and let us in now!" gyeong-mi yelled.
"I'm going to make you suffer. You roid raging small dick gorilla." i said as i was now pissed and had a bad headache.
"What you say bitch!?" gyeong-mi yelled as we were warpped in. this time it was my turn. I left the other three to the wonderlab girls while i made sure gyeong-mi suffered his cheap shot. And with that the stray dogs was gone. And the library now rises to urban plague. And as for me…i'm going to pop some painkillers and hit the hay…
