Chapter Four; Mother's Embrce
Japan; Kuoh Safehouse
Day of the Tri-faction conference
Naruto and his team fully gear up in their combat gear this time around. Inspired by Xenovia's exorcist gear, Naruto and Yuma have created a set of, lack of a better term, uniforms for everyone which has been enhanced by seals to boost everyone's combat effectiveness to the limit. Reminiscent of Leaf Anbu armour, with added protections in the form of shoulder plates, a spine guard, and leg armour, and a colour shift of dull grey and blacks in lace of beige front plates and half masks to cover their mouths and noses.
Magic storage seals, modified from chakra storage seals with runes learnt from his mother, Naruto had equipped this large seal on their backs, beneath their spine armour, the shoulder pouldrons are fit with air resistance negation to increase speed and agility in all actions. Those were paired with general toughness increases, making sure their shoulders are safe. The ladies breast plates are slightly different as they a very specific seal to support their fronts perfectly to prevent giggling mid combat preventing altered balance in high-speed combat.
Naruto's breast plate is both a chakra storage, and hardening seal for increased defence and a back up for his already impressive chakra reserves. Nothing like his original reserves that were unmatched, but he was, currently, at high Anbu, low sannin with the seals fully powered but his control would give Sakura a run for her money.
The spine armour has two seals linked to one another, one to harder the metal without loosing flexibility and the other to slightly reduce air friction in flight. The second only activates in flight, a reaction to the unfurling of wings.
The navel armour plate has a medical regeneration seal for automatic treatment of light injuries, pain killers, counter position agents, and artificial adrenal boosters. It isn't infinite but still useful. Anbu survival rates skyrocketed after he and Sakura sat down and created that back home. Replicating it wasn't difficult but finding the appropriate medical herbs was a hassle. Yuma was to thank for that though.
Arm braces hold storage seals for additional weapons or back up ones, depending on who, but also cut resistance applied as back up.
Leg armour have anti crush seals, both thigh and shin guards, with the loose knee guards anti stab protection with the tall combat boots having anti-slip. No seal required there but Naruto threw it on there regardless. Now they can all stick to literally any solid surface effortlessly. The last two days they have had them, they have been training in their usage to become instinctively familiar with them. Final adjustments were made, the storage seals filled and the team running through mock drills.
They were ready.
Stepping out of their home, they stand before Naruto without their half masks on hoods down as they get ready to move out for their first 'Mission' and active encounter. Naruto looks over all the three ladies, nodding at the insignia Yuma, Xenovia, and Mio came up with. Two blades crossed in an 'X' with one black and red, the other white and gold with a grey and red torch in the centre. They all had it on their left chest peace and both upper arms on their black under suits. "You know it's kinda scary how comfortable these feel." Xenovia comments and she shakes off her limbs, checking for her range of movement that was completely unhindered, "Tell me about it." Yuma comments as she flexes her claws that were out in the open despite the armoured gloves and arm guard. "We look awesome!" Mio cheered and Naruto smiled at their enthusiasm, Mio especially having just taken her first life not too long ago. Sure, she has refused to sleep alone since, but her cheer was back so that's all that mattered right now.
"We are going to teleport to the meeting place with Lady Gabriel now and we won't be using our alias this time around." Naruto informs and they all nod, "Then why the masks?" Asks Yuma holding hers up, painted to look like a cat with whiskers, "To prevent inhalation of foreign substances." Naruto states flatly causing her to look abashed "Right. My bad."
"Their concealing of our identities isn't even their secondary effect just a happy happenstance." Naruto shrugged non commitedly, placing his on that was a call back to his old fuzzy friend. Dark orange with black whiskers. "Remember to activate your walkie-talkies." His final words as he lazily spins up his teleportation spell, awaiting to hear everyone say their ready, "Ready?"
"Ready." Mio chirps, "Good to go." Yuma comments, "Me too." Xenovia finishes and they vanish from their hideout.
Appearing at in the car park of the hotel the Angel party was staying at, Gabriel standing waiting them with her four escorts, all four-winged angels, who were startled by the quick teleportation of the Leviathan heir but even more surprised by their uniforms. Even Gabriel was momentarily caught off guard by their new getups. After a quick once over, with more than just her eyes, she nods and smiles "Thank you again for aiding us this time around, Lord leviathan." Addressing the one with her brother's sword on his back, eyes briefly looking over at the one with Durandal's handle poking up "You helped us, we help you. Hopefully we can achieve an understanding going forward." Naruto shaking Gabriel's offered hand.
His words cause her to smile and nod "That's what today is about. As long as you protect us from the shadows, our escorts in the open, I doubt anything will become an issue."
"Indeed. Shall we go then?" Naruto states and the seraph nods, "This way please." And she leads them toward her older brother Micheal who too was surprised at the uniformity of the mercenary help. Together they all head to the venue, Kuoh academy.
Japan; Kuoh Academy
As the angel party arrive on site, the sight of the joint fallen, devil, security was a sight to behold. It was clear there was tension but nothing going on to transpire between them. Both sides took note of the non-angels among the last of the heaven detail. Most assumed exorcists, as their head exorcist Griselda Quarta arrived to greet them "Lord Micheal, Lady Gabriel; you arrived right on time." They smiled and nodded to which she allowed her eyes to flow over the new help and spots a very familiar face among them. Smiling she moved forward to greet her legal daughter "Xenovia. You look well. What's with the get up?"
"Mother, I umm…" she takes a deep breath as she removes the mask revealing her face in its entirety "This…" gesturing to her new armour, "…is new armour my friend made for me. It's a lot lighter and more protective than the standard one I had before. This is its first field trial though so…"
"I see." Griselda comments inspecting it and could feel the number of runes on it was nothing to scoff at, "…and who exactly made it? It looks well thought out."
"I did, ma'am." Naruto stepping up, extending his hand, "Naruto Leviathan, leader of this team." The head exorcist didn't even bat an eye at the introduction, "Pleasure to finally meet you, Leviathan-san. I have heard of you from the higher ups. You did some good work in the Tokyo sector. Why'd you move?"
"The hero faction was establishing a stronger foothold. Didn't want to get caught up in their foolishness. Though, coming to Kuoh was a spur of the moment idea, I'm glad I did. I met a good friend here in your daughter." His eye smile told the lady he was happy, but what caught her attention was the fact he said friend and not servant, "You mean servant, right?"
"No. I mean friend." Naruto looking directly into her eyes, "I am not that big on the whole 'become my servant and be all powerful' stick the new faction is preaching recently. Far too many loopholes and limiting of self choice. Not my idea of freedom. It's also why I am technically in hiding and she is one hundred and twenty percent exorcist." This actually amused the older woman, a devil who talks about freedom of choice? Now she's seen it all. What's next, he'll say that he hates the old faction or something and serves the light "Half right…" Naruto chimed in causing her to freeze, and he smirks, "I am not a power crazy fool either. The old faction leaves much to be desired." He sighs, "Even if I am a direct descendant of them."
"I like you kid. Perhaps after all this, we could spar to see how much my daughter has grown under your care." She smirks and he matches it with a smirk, "Sounds fun. We gotta go though, we'll be watching from the shadows you cast in the light." She nods at that "Sounds like a plan. I will escort them in. Stay safe you hear?" Looking across them all "That goes to all of you."
"Yes ma'am." They chorus and she nods, "Now scatter. My lips are sealed." With that they vanished into the shadows of the surrounding buildings, much to the hidden amusement of the arch angels and the chief exorcist who smirks at the display before turning back to her bosses "I like them."
"They are good kids." Micheal comments and Gabriel nods with a smile.
During the meeting…
Naruto was crouched in the tree beside the ORC clubroom, out of sight and out of mind, looking out across the school yard. He had noticed two signatures inside, both low to mid class devils, but seeing as it's the ORC clubroom, he guessed they are part of the Gremory Peerage. As he hasn't met them properly, he couldn't tell who they are, so just decided to leave them be, until of course he called in what he was seeing approaching him "I have eyes on some party crashers."
"On my way." Came Xenovia's quick response, "Me two!" Mio's a moment later, "Me three." Yuma as Naruto draws his blade silently as the eight magicians approach the barrier surrounding the building. Leaning forward for an instant launch off, he idly noticed that only now the building occupants have noticed the threat but against these numbers, they will be helpless. He holds his sword in reverse grip for a quick opening slash into his open palm.
Just as the barrier began flickering, he gets the signal, "I'm in position and ready to strike." Xenovia over the radio and Naruto blasts off, not waiting for the others and just as planned, his wrist flick slides through the rear two in a single past, excalibur destruction slicing through five in Xenovia's opening swing, that is one massive blade was Naruto's thoughts as they both close in on the last magician who fell on his ass upon seeing what happened to his allies.
Without words Naruto approached him, "I'm sorry, please… please spare me…" but his pleas fell on deaf ears as he was dragged into the shadows behind the old school building where Mio and Xenovia got a front row seat to one of Yuma's more 'delicate' talents. No one even heard his screams. Almost no one. Both Koneko and Gaspre within the building did and were both terrified of the people who saved them.
Ten minutes later the foursome leaves the shadows, and Xenovia sends her 'mother' a message detailing what they discovered. Just as a patrol arrived at the sight of the bodies, a murder of four crows, "This you?" Their leader asks to which Naruto nods, "Magicians. Clearly not invited to this summit and tried breaking into this devil house." Pointing to the building beside them. "We just finished interviewing their eighth member and coming to clear this up." His causal disregard for the carnage out these fallen on edge, especially if the 'interview' was what they thought it was, "Anything we should know?"
"Yeah, Chaos Brigade is planning an attack any minute now. These guys were supposed to send the signal by catching the devils in there."
"We'll spread the word." They take flight as Yuma proceeds to burn away the bodies, her blue neko flames proving their worth, Naruto following up with water to clear away the ash and blood. Before they all return to the side of the building, awaiting the attack.
A little earlier, meeting room…
Griselda's phone buzzes in her pocket and she takes out and reads the text from her daughter and frowns. The leaders are in mid discussions about asking the younger generation what their thoughts were and the report on the attack launched a month ago by the rouge Cadre fallen but all notice the head exorcist step beside Micheal and whisper into his ear, causing said man to frown and nod before whispering back orders and she nods before returning to the background.
As Griselda returns orders via text again, Micheal returns his focus forward to see everyone looking to him "Is something wrong, Micheal-dono?" Serizechs asks to which the arch angel sighs before looking to the Crimson Satan then to his little sister, "Well, it seems our security detachment had to despatch two squads of magicians attempting to break into the old building in the back of the school."
"Our clubroom!" Spoke up Rias, jumping to her feet but Micheal smiled at her with his palm up, "Do not fret, young Rias. They were stopped before the barrier was broken." Allowing the heiress to breath a sigh of relief, "How troubling. Do we know who they work for?" Azezel asks with his fist supporting his head, to which his brother nods, "Unfortunately we do. Chaos brigade." This caused the leaders all to stiffen their spines, one dragon emperor shifted uneasily in the background that was caught by the Satans and Angels. "What else did you learn?" Asked Serafall Leviathan, formerly Sitiri, full business and no kidding around in the face of such a topic "Just that they seem to have planned to attack but without the start signal from the sacred gear to freeze time…"
"So that was what they were after." Rias mumbles now really worried about her bishop and rook, when Griselda reappeared by Micheal's side, "All forces have been redeployed. Our special unit is staying on guard over the dampir in case they try again." With a nod, Micheal looks to Rias "Did you get that, Lady Gremory?"
"I did and thank you for your consideration." Rias bowing her head to the angel in charge of heaven, who smile back gracefully "See, this is what we need…!" Azezel comments flamboyantly, gaining the rooms collective attention "…angels helping devils, devils helping fallen, and fallen helping angels. This is the future! We should commend this day with this alliance."
"Before that…" Serafall speaking up, deciding now as a good a time as ever as this subject has been on her mind since the first report, leaning forward onto the table. Her colleagues, the fellow Satans, knew what question she was to pose and to whom "This is to you Micheal…"
"How may I help?"
"We have received a report from little Rias here about a certain devil working under one of your generals within our territory." Serafall announces much to Azezel surprise, Vali's silent shock, and the amusement of Griselda Quarta. Micheal raises an eyebrow at that, a silent signal to continue "This devil hails from a house that is supposed to be part of the old faction, but we are fully aware that said faction would rather die then work with you and that said devil is a male that isn't registered within our records. Care to explain?"
Before he could however a massive magic circle appeared above the school that shakes from an explosion that set off a chain of events that lead to solidification of the alliance.
Outside…
"Well, isn't that something?" Naruto comments, arms crossed, staring up at the massive transfer circle acting as a bridge to Satan knows where. Looking to his team, "We hold here as per Griselda-san's instructions." They all nod but watch on as the defensive forces swiftly sweep in to counter the invading forces.
For the first few minutes it seemed that the alliance forces were maintaining the upper hand, and all was going well, until Naruto and Yuma noticed a signature sneaking towards their position. Both snap their heads towards a simple cat at the barrier. Naruto's growl alerted the other two as he vanished in a burst of pure speed, Yuma on his heels, and he slashes where the cat was, the feline evading the attack "Nice try, Nekomata. You will not be getting passed this line." Naruto gesturing to the line his sword made in his attack.
"My – my… so aggressive. How'd you detect me, I wonder? Nya?" The cat remarks before noticing the Nekosho behind him, tail waving calmly behind her causing narrowed eyes, "I see. So, you had help, nya." Naruto wasn't going to correct her error. That would be stupid.
Glancing around, she noticed she has been boxed in by an exorcist at her rear, is that durandal? A fellow Youkai on her right, a demon on her left and the unknown ahead. Interesting team set up with all bases covered. Casting an illusion to escape, she was shocked when it is immediately broken, the unknown charging at her with his blade mid slash, she leaps clear directly into the path of the second heavy sword user, she narrowly avoids it but does loose a bit of fur on her back but is punched down by her fellow feline.
Transformation drops but before she can escape again, she is forced flat against the ground by an intense gravity attack, barely able to even twitch. The demons doing no doubt. "Kuroka the stray. You are under arrest for crimes against Youkai kind." Spoke the Nekosho who approaches the struggling woman who, upon realising the danger she was in pulls on her trump card. Senjutsu.
Much to everyone's, not Naruto's, surprise she was able to stand in the increased gravity field of Mio, who was afraid to increase the intensity any further and kill the woman by accident like before. Just after she lunges at Yuma who begins to leap back, a fraction of a second too late to avoid her claw swipe completely, Naruto appears and slammed her face first into the dirt.
At the same time Mio releases her technique as Naruto continues to manhandle the troublesome feline, pinning her down beneath him, arms bound behind her back, which is when stray noticed that her senjutsu was being drained by the one atop her who was also coated in nature energy. Her bewilderment caused her squirming to stop long enough for a chakra suppression tag to be applied cutting off her access to her powers and she falls unconscious immediately from the shock to her system. The next moment she was sealed within a prisoner scroll and handed to Yuma for safe keeping. Mio grins behind her mask with a V sign "Two for two!"
"Yeah, but something tells me this is just the beginning." Xenovia comments earning a nod from Yuma and Naruto "Get back to positions…" and just as they move to return, another explosion rocked the arena and then white dragon emperor appears in the sky, running through the allied forces. "Another enemy?" Mio poses causing Xenovia, who replaces durandal back on her back, to shrug "More than likely."
"We have our instructions…" Naruto repeats as they head back to the old building, but spot numerous devil's approaching, though they were friendly possibly. Drawing weapons and taking up their positions Naruto calls out "Halt! Who goes there?!" Causing the ORC group to land a safe distance away from the four armoured personnel, armour they have never seen before but one of them held a very familiar sword "We are the…" the red head was interrupted by the arrival of Gabriel, "It's fine. We have new orders for you." Immediately Naruto's squad stands aside, but the Orc doesn't move and watches on "The frontline is holding but the white dragon emperor has gone against our alliance. We want you to change that."
"Lady Gabriel, isn't that his job?" Yuma pointing to the red dragon gauntlet wearing teen, who looked ashamed at his lack of power to confront his destined rival, "Issei isn't strong enough to." Rias piped in, "Though, you're strength is even more questionable. I don't sense anything from you all. Who are you?" Rias was pointedly ignored as Gabriel continued "Your orders are to fend off the white dragon or force him to withdraw before damage to our forces are too great to remain."
"We'll get to it…" Naruto froze upon sensing a very familiar signature arrive on the battleground and he snaps his head directly towards her "She… she's here…?"
"Who? Who's here…?" Asked Gabriel as she stretches her senses and picks up the new arrival and her eyes widen, "Is that…?" He silently nods, before slowly turning back to the Arch Angel, "Lady Gabriel… I know this is selfish but…"
"Go. We will manage." She smiles as he nods and steps past only for the angel to take hold of his bracers, casing him to turn to look at her "Remember, whatever she chooses is her choice. That's what you told us. Please don't fall from this path you have chosen." He nods silently before looking forward to the path ahead "I will do my best to bring her home…" his devil wings spread, all six of them causing gasps from the Gremory group, "Good luck, Lord Leviathan." spoke the lone angel among the devils, which he heard just before he blasts off, a sonic boom shockwave blasting everything, beside his team and Gabriel, in his wake asunder.
Battleground
Serafall Leviathan and Azezel confront the old faction leader Katerea Leviathan, having above them like she held all the cards as head forces battle it out against the joint alliance, "Don't worry, Serafall. Today, I'll kill you at this place and take the title of Satan Leviathan for myself. Then, Ophir will become the god of the new world. It's fine if he's just a symbol. The system, the laws, and the doctrine will be constructed by us. Michael, Azezel, and Lucifer Sirzechs, your era is over."
"Is that what you truly believe Katerea? Is there really no way to coexist?" Serafall asks almost pleadingly at her old rival. "How foolish! Of course not! Not while you usurpers still attempt to cling to power!" She bellowed adjusting her glasses "Guess you are too far gone. Come…" the fallen governors general stepping up to bat, calling out the enemy general "…allow me to use this as a…" but before he could finish, a wall of ice erupts between both parties just as Katerea catches a punch from someone she had not anticipated being here.
The shockwave erupts as the ice shattered to pieces revealing a masked individual in Katerea grasped hand "Well, it has been a long time hasn't it, sochi…?" Eyes widen at that as she throws him back, the wind pushing his hood back revealing his now white greyish hair, purple eyes that matched Katerea's along with his facial structure as he removes his mask, "That it has, oh dear mother…" his eyes seemed to glow with his growing rage, "…but you threw me away remember? I am no son of yours." He growls as the air around him crystallised, the cold mist flowing down over his six wings showing just how potent his ice powers are.
She frowns, "I had no choice but to. You were a failure. Yet now I see that my judgement may have been a bit to hasty. To think, your Lusifuge powers would surface so late. Or maybe you were just a late bloomer." This definitely caught everyone's attention, especially a curtain head maid's whose eyes widen marginally and for a brief moment, "Failure huh? Yeah… I've failed all those tests because you'd spend more time with me. When I hit puberty, at aged ten, my hair started turning white and my ice magic started superseding my water." As he spoke a water funnel began forming at his back, seemingly forming from the air itself, "…but you know… I trained my ass off everyday and night to balance it out…" abruptly the the funnel froze as he twisted his hand "…and now…" his eyes lock on to hers, her own magic circles springing up, "I'll show you what a proud failure like me can do." The massive chunk of ice span wildly as it streamed like a laser at his mother upon his command.
A slice of water cut the giant ice cube into several tons of slushy, passing Katerea by harmlessly as she summons numerous water snakes to burst forward at her son, who matches hers instantly, both attacks cancelling each other out but he sneaks in another pair of icicle lances that she narrowly avoids firing off two massive leviathans at him. He snaps up to circles, one at each, and froze them within seconds before sending them back with interest. His mother tuts, evading both as they crash below, crushing several of her men, not that she cared right now, "Now-now… sochi… this is no time for a temper tantrum. If you are upset with me, we can discuss this after we are done here. Keep this up and I'll ground you…" casting a massive multi-faceted spell as numerous water spikes, dragons, and snakes begin to form all around her.
"How many times do I have to tell you…" Naruto gathering a stupid amount of magic, his output easily matching then surpassing his mothers reaching close to Satan's currently watching this family feud "…I AM NOT YOUR BABY ANYMORE!" upon his roar the cloudy skies part and six kilometre long dragons of supercooled water droplets and air from the upper atmosphere, come roaring down at speeds directly towards her mother, much to everyone's surprise and dismay "Aisukirin!" Naruto roared as the beasts freeze the very air they were flying through.
"You are so getting a timeout after this!" Katerea shouts unloading everything she had the encroaching supercooled water vapour, currently roaring at her. She managed to take out four of the six before they drop below five thousand feet, but the last two combine into one and lunge forward. The Lady Leviathan, realising she could not disperse it in time, threw up numerous defensive barriers.
Boom. Half the city flash freezes. Or at least would have if the four Satans, two Arch angels, and the governor general of the fallen, not collaborated on a joint barrier and even still it was close. Everything that was touched was frozen solid. Even the magic circles themselves had frozen over.
There was silence for a long time before cracking could be heard when suddenly Naruto broke through, shielded by his wings, that spread when he cleared the frozen mist, stablising himself, that reaches just below the roof of the school. His mother appears a shortly their after, ice falling from her frozen defensive spells, as she smirks at her son "I must admit. That was a very powerful attack, creative too, as expect of my blood." Finally spreading her now eight wings to shake off the remaining ice, while Naruto just narrowed his eyes at her "Now, come dear. We must return. We have…"
"Why…?" He whispered but it carried, and the leaders were paying rapt attention, hoping to gleam any and all information they can to sway this powerhouse to their side, "Why what?" She questioned as her final wing defrosts allowing her full flight mobility once more "Why do you serve those decrepit old fools who lack any true understanding of the world at large?"
"Watch your language, sochi! Those old men are great…"
"Were never great." Naruto shook his head, "Think about it mother, you always told me to look at the evidence present and extrapolate." She looked generally confused now, "Those old fools that survived the Great War… why and how do you think they survived? If they were so important, they would have been targets of interest and hunted down with extreme prejudice, no?" He posed which was a good point, even the Satans had to agree along with the fallen and Angels.
Katerea however allowed her now messy hair to cover her face, her mind reeling at something so obvious. Of course, all the actual leaders would have been killed, the brave would have fought for what they believed, the strong willed never ever surrendered. Leaving only the spineless seeking to benefit from the blood of others. Of course. How did she not see it before. But… but it's too late for her. She's in too deep. Plus, there's another… the three of them are the last of the true leviathan clan. Smiling, she makes her decision, she will in trust her son to clear and restore the name of their family to greatness. Just have to play her part.
Sighing heavily as her eyes glow a vibrant purple, face set in a well practiced scowl, "I guess I really do need to punish you…" her magic spikes again, reaching her maximum output of ultimate class, and she saw it. For a brief moment, in his eyes, the plea of a little boy for his mother, burying the guilt she has to do this. For him. His magic spiked too, far slower than hers did, but barely reaching its previous heights, much to everyone's shock. Then again, the attack he used must have drained quite a bit, "Is… is this the only way… mom?" He asks solemnly, calmly, without any emotion in his voice beside a hint of sadness, "You will come willingly, or I will beat you to the edge of purgatory and drag you home by force!"
Taking a deep breath, followed a heavy sigh, his words to and from Gabriel came to mind "Whatever she chooses, is her choice." His eyes harden, burying his dislike for this whole affair, mirroring his resolve to end this sooner rather than later. He can cry then go on holiday or something later on. Immediately his magic spikes to ultimate class, nearly super devil levels but his suits magical storage draining fast, as he snaps one hand up, the clouds parted again, the sun glaring through this time but no sight of a dragon. A new attack maybe as his mother began casting multiple laced offensive and defensive spells simultaneously. His second hand slowly lifts up, the water molecules collect together in the air all around the battleground, as he gains altitude to see the entire area within his field of view "This… I borrowed from one of Yuma's anime. The concept was plausible though I had to modify it slightly…" a sun beam lights the area, rapidly warming up the area, hardening the ice and raising steam, but the beam slowly, methodically, and with great care began to narrow.
On the side lines…
"He isn't… is he…?" Azezel watching with a slack jaw, "He is…" Micheal confirmed with a nod, "This… this is amazing…" gawked Serafall, "Truly a genius in ice magic." Spoke a startled Grayfier Lusifuge, looking at the currently only other of her clan "I look forward to trading notes with him."
"Seriously?" Serizechs gulps looking at his wife who smiled sweetly, "I've been looking for him for over a decade. Now he's here. I must speak with him. Train him. He's a Lusifuge…"
"…and Leviathan…" Serafall reminds but was studiously ignored.
With the ORC upon their own roof, "Did we honestly try to corner this guy ourselves?" Issei muttered having witness the entire battle thus far, "We did." Akeno confirms with a cold sweat down her temple, "We were lucky right?" Issei continued to which Koneko nodded "Yes." Kiba comments as the beam finally narrows "Megiddo? From slime… right?" Rias comments having recalled something similar to this happening, currently to engrossed in her otaku world than the fight itself.
Back on the battle ground…
Numerous water serpents rush skyward with their master in behind, "Kōri no taiyō!" With a blast of heat, half the serpents flash vaporised, a second twitch of his fore finger and another half is destroyed her moves his thumb and two more bite the dust. His senses spike when suddenly Albion, the divine dragon appeared from beneath the ice, blasting up to meet him at speed. Growling at having to make a choice, he twists his hand counterclockwise and his thumb twitches and a laser like beam of super focused sunlight punches through the dragon armour, shattering the balance breaker and blasts him back down to the floor in a flaming heap.
Boom.
The sky fogs up again as Naruto is knocked out of position and loose his hold on the super chilled water in the atmosphere. A chain faction of strikes hit him, from the remaining serpents and water blasts from his mother in an unrelenting attack. He crashes into the tundra covered earth and for a solid thirty seconds the attacks kept striking true. When the dust and ice finally clears, all that was their was splinters from an almighty log, and splinters of his cloak, "What the…" slam. Boom. Another eruption of smoke snaps everyone's attention where Katerea was hovering to find a banged-up Naruto there instead , a stream of white leading to the second dust cloud.
Wiping the blood from his mouth, spitting what collected in his mouth, Naruto's hands cover themselves in crystal blue ice forming a monstrous claw as his fourth set of wings unfold, his power spiking again as he partially enters his true form with his skin going pale as snow with blue vains becoming visible beneath said skin around his eyes, around his mouth and neck. Shattering the sound barrier as he dived, he pulls up just before hitting the ground, tearing up the tundra ground with their air pressure alone, as he reaches forward towards his slowly raising mother, who had yet to see him.
Seeing this, Vali reapplied his balance breaker and darts to intercept the death blow to save his comrade in arms as per his instructions from the infinite dragon. Spotting the gleam of the white one in his peripheral vision, Naruto ejects his sword into his left hand, and flicks it like a kunai at speeds beyond Vali's comprehension, due to their closing velocity, and it punches right through his armour and into his shoulder forcing him to crash due to the impact.
Katerea looks up just in time to see her son's claw reach her chest, eyes wide as they meet her son's equally purple ones. The second hits claw touches her skin, everything seems to stop for the two of the two of them.
Naruto's Soul Scape
Katerea finds herself in the field outside her manor outside Lucifaad, the water garden where she see's a four-year-old Naruto picking water lilies and braiding them into her own hair and her smiling at his goofy smile. She smiles at that as she grabbed him and hold him close as the two laughed and enjoyed the warm day it was, free of anything beyond the walls. "This is one of my favourite memories." Naruto's voice and she smiles, not turning to her son she knew was standing at her side "Mine too."
"Then… why are you here?"
"…because… there are some stuffs I need you to handle in my stead." The silence was telling. She sighed before turning to see the seven-year-old representation of her son, this was the last memory he had of her before she kicked him out. "You called mother." Naruto's young hesitant voice grated on her ears, "Yes… yes I did…" from this side, Katerea seemed to look so much eviler and imposing than what she remembered, "It's been decided…" Naruto gulped nervously, the chains keeping his hands apart and unable to fidget "You are a failure!" the strict mother, long brown hair tied up in the long ponytail. A detached demeanour toward her son currently being released from chains, his clothes ragged and dirty as she sat upon her high throne with her purple eyes filled with disgust and hated. "To think that I birthed such a wasted specimen." Pushing up her glasses upon her nose, blocking her eyes from him "Regardless. I have no use for you. So be gone." The boy's heart broke, but her heated glare cowed the seven-year-old who quickly bowed formally and stepped back, turned and quietly left.
"Is that how you saw me? Like an evil woman who replaced your mother?" She asks as the memory fades and her son, aged seventeen standing beside her now. He didn't respond verbally, but nodded as his head hung, and tears fell from her eyes "Oh sweetie…" she hugged him and for the first time in a decade, Naruto broke down into tears in the only place he felt comfortable to do so. His mother's arms.
"…my little Fuyuhiko. You've gone through so much and I wasn't there for you." She just continued to hold her adult son like how she used to, the area showing a similar scene of her cradling her five-year-old as he snoozed against her as she hummed an old melody that her mother had hummed to her many centuries ago.
After calming down, he sat up, but she pulled him back and rested his head on her lap "Just… we don't have much time so allow me this one selfish request…" he nods and she smiles, "Thank you sochi. I need you to find the last of our kin. Her name is Ingvild Leviathan. She has a rare disease, called devil sleeping disease. She's a half blood but she's all the family you have left. She's hidden somewhere in the underworld. Find and rescue her."
"I will." Naruto nods in affirmation, somewhat childishly causing his mother to smile, she kisses his forehead and suddenly a flood of information hits him like a shadow clone just popped "Those are all family spells I gifted you. Use them well." He nodded before her smile dropped and her stern visage, the one from her nightmares, makes an appearance "You changed your name? They called you Naruto Leviathan. Is there something wrong with Fuyuhiko Leviathan? The name I gave you?"
"No… no… I swear… it's just after… you looked at me like that… I thought I wasn't your prince anymore so…" he trailed off in a smallish voice and she flicked his nose, "Baka… you forget what I said? You were always my prince and even in death I will always believe that. After all, it's a parent's responsibility to believe in their children one hundred percent, right? It's only logical…" memories of his last life super imposed and the blond he recalled as his father saying that in a similar position to his mother right now.
Tears run down his face as he looks up at his mother small smile "Mum… I love you." Her smile grows too, "I love you too, sochi." Her form begins to waiver, slowly disappearing into gold dust, something Naruto is very familiar with, "Looks like my times up… your claw has probably punched right through me at the speed you were going at." She chuckled sardonically at the thought, "No… not again!" He jumps up, dragging her to her feet, "I won't let this end this way."
"Sochi… it's okay. I've accepted…"
"But I haven't! I just got you back and…" she flicks his his nose to calm him, "Fuyuhiko Naruto Leviathan." Her stern voice forces him to focus on her, "I am the proudest woman to have given birth to a wonderful man such as yourself. I am sorry for dropping all my mess on you like this, but with my death, any hold the old faction has on you will end. You will be free."
"…but…"
"But nothing! Listen to me… find Ingvild and restore the Leviathan name. I don't really care for the current four Satan's but if you must…"
"I don't like them either. I've been independent this entire time, ya know?"
"I didn't. Impressive sochi. As expected from…" he suddenly channeled his devil magic into his chakra and latched onto his mother's fading soul, and it began to reform before his eyes much to her shock "Sochi… what are you…?"
"Doing something really stupid, or brilliant. Haven't decided yet." He says with his eyes scrunched up in concentration, for a good two minutes they stood there until the chakra faded and she was still there. He smiled somewhat but was clearly winded, "It seemed to work." He smiled at her, "Hold on and wait here for a bit. I'll be back."
Back in the real world…
Naruto standing above his mothers' corpse, tears running down his cheeks, as everyone looks on in morning. The clouds have started to part seeming to grace the mother son duo in a beam of light, "I love you… mother…" his whispered words travelled into the winds. Pulling off his battle cloak, wrapping up her form within, hiding the hole where her heart should have been. As he strolls down the the path he made from his high-speed transit, no one barred his path as the few survivors on both sides step aside. No one could imagine what killing your own mother must be like, especially if she was the only family you had.
Vali Lucifer lifts himself to a seated position, his balance breaker long since gone, as he glared at the back of the retreating Leviathan-Lusifuge "Finally, a worthy opponent. Perhaps you will serve me, a Lucifer as does all Lusifuge once did. Glancing around, he spots the sword that wiped him out, not too far away, just as he goes to start crawling, he is yanked up by his rescue party "Man, you look messed up…" Bikou hoisting the injured white dragon emperor onto his shoulders "Bikou huh? Is it time already?"
"Yep but…" he frowns, "Your are in no shape to fight. We were meant to…"
"Forget that. Grab that sword over there." Pointing with his uninjured left hand to the dull looking bale sea green sword, its crisp golden handle gleaming in the low light of the thick clouds, "You don't use swords. Why would…"
"It cut through my balance breaker armour…" Vali informs causing Bikou to snap to it, only for the blade to be gone, "Shit! Where'd it go?"
"Argh you idiot! Let's just get outta here before the Satans find us." Vali orders and the two vanish into a portal, not seeing a causally sitting Raphael atop the building, dangling the sword he gave to Naruto by the handle between his fingers "Another favour owed." Before glancing back at the devastation, his face carefully neutral, "He is powerful. But is he powerful enough for what's to come?"
Reaching the main school building, Naruto, still carrying his mothers limp form bridal style, is confronted by the four Satans and both Sitri and Gremory peerages, who were smiling at him as he approached. Grayfier gives herself a quick once over to ensure she is perfectly presentable. Serizechs steps forward with his hand up, "It's a pleasure to meet you…" he trails off as Naruto passes them all by without even a glance, much to their surprise, and heads for his gathering team "Are you okay? I mean… are you hurting anywhere?" asked a somewhat panicky Mio who offered a weak half smile.
"Let's just go home. I… my mother… deserved that much…" he smiles but it wasn't warm but broken, Xenovia knew this is what he meant and what she must have looked like when he found her at that warehouse last month. They all nodded as they moved towards the edge of the barrier, "wait a second…" called out Serafall, landing ahead of them, arms crossed but they all look at her with blank faces "…you kids these days. No respect for…"
"What do you want, Serafall?" Naruto with narrowed eyes, a significant amount of killing intent rolling off him causing her to narrow her own eyes and glare right back "I am a Satan boy. Show some respect."
"Respect is earned not given. I have none for you so move before things get violent again." He states as Xenovia reaches for durandal, Mio's magic spikes and Yuma's chakra flares causing Serafall to dwarf all their outputs with a simple flare up of her own powers but they did not cower away "You will stand down and accompany us to…"
"Let me make this perfectly clear to you, Serafall. To all you Satans, actually." Naruto speaking up so everyone hears them, the devils eyes all narrow at the boy "I have no respect for any of you. You claim to lead the devil race but the amount of devils running rampant, against your orders and laws is at a laughable level. You think you control and speak for the race as whole? You can't even control your own council. You know you have a mad man with so much political power, he can literally pull the rug out from under you and you just smile a bare it. What kind of fucked up Satan's are you?"
Azezel was trying so very hard to not laugh at this development, the truth hurts and yet here it was being laid out by a kid no older than seventeen, "So, let's me say this again, Serafall…" his killing intent collected by two lifetimes of pain and hardships crashed upon the Satan who breaks into a nervous sweat, taking a few steps back as his eyes glowing a vibrant purple, the form of the legendary beast to which his family name honours materialising at his back hissing at her "MOVE!"
AN; Chapter Four already. This was originally part of ch3 but found a good spot to split it and expand upon in both chapters to round them out. The Kuoh arc is coming to a close and the crew will be heading out as now the devils are aware of them. News of Naruto's strength will ripple far and wide, alerting the most unlikely of people's intrest. Power plays are a foot as now the Leviathan and Lusifuge clans have a near ultimate class heir at such a young age. He will get his holiday and confide in an unexpected friend.
P.s. Naruto's birth name isnt actually Naruto in this fic. As he explained here, his actual name given to him by his mother is Fuyuhiko Leviathan. As he has his memories, and previously had contact with the tailed beasts, he went by Naruto whilst in hiding. The only people who know his actual name is his mother and himself. She typically referred to him as sochi in the presence of others. Katerea only added Naruto when speaking to him as to honur the name he had spent most his life under.
Legally, his name is still just Fuyuhiko Leviathan. Its a bit annoying whenever I read a fanfic where he gets reborn to new parents, they seem to have any random excuse to call him Naruto. Some are better than others but most are 'spur of the moment' gigs.
FYI; I am usually a chapter ahead of the uploads, so yes, Ch 5 is done and uploaded but unpublished until at least Ch 6 is done. Then I'll consider publishing it.

I do not own Naruto, DXD, or Reincarnated as a Slime, which was referenced in this chapter. Naruto tried to copy Rimaru's attack but as he lacks a super computer in his head, it failed just not completely. He will refine it as the story goes on, same as the attack he coopted from Sasuke.
