A note about this story: I made an urban-fantasy, universe hopping KH AU many years back. And then DLC dropped and we got Quadratum and I was like "man how funny would it be if it was literally our world?" and then they mentioned both worlds being "fiction" to each other, and then KH4 trailer dropped and others pointed out it was literally in Shibuya, and then I thought of all the different "realities", so here we are. This is about 75% nonsense, so don't think too hard about it. Enjoy.

This world was called "Quadratum", but Strelitzia said the locals called it "Tokyo". The second Sora looked out on it, he could feel this place was different. Not just from the roads and skyscrapers, but the air and the people in it felt different too. There was just something off about it Sora couldn't quite put his finger on.

But differences or no, Sora still wouldn't turn his back on them. That's why when a massive heartless made it's appearance, Sora didn't hesitate to charge into battle.

"And hopefully, you'll meet the person who knows your heart better than anyone."

He didn't know what she meant by that, but he would ask later. For now he had his guard up, keyblade at the ready. He barreled in, determined to take down this foe.

"We interrupt this program to bring you this breaking news-"

Kilometers away from Tokyo, a cashier worked in an unassuming convenience store. A face that was unmistakable, with a voice equally so. He was almost as short as the keyblader, though more athletic in build. He had thicker arms and chest, and was shockingly pale. Against the dark green of his apron and his black shirt, it was more apparent.

"Thank you for your business," said the cashier, offering an obligatory bow to his leaving customer. "Please come again."

But the biggest difference was his large, sun-gold eyes, and jet-black hair.

"-In an unprecedented event, an enormous, towering monster is wreaking havoc in Shibuya."

The cashier whirled to the phone it was coming from- an unwitting customer that had forgotten to put his earbuds in. He was staring with shocked eyes at the tiny screen, not even looking up when Sora forgot his manners and darted around the counter to come up next to him so he could see.

"Ariasu, what are you doing!?" Yelled the older man supervising him. "Get back behind the counter!"

But he ignored him, yellow-gold eyes wide as his worst fear played out in front of him. 'Heartless!'

And that figure with the light and magic-

"I have to go- I'm sorry!" He shouted as he pulled off his apron. He tossed it on the counter as he ran out the door, knowing he was gonna regret his boss screaming after him later.

'Please pick up, please pick up!' He prayed as he pressed the contact on his touchscreen and held up his phone, not stopping his running for the back of the store.

He felt immense relief when the ringing cut off, and a dark screen appeared with a groggy, sleep-heavy voice. "Hello-?"

"Kairi, you need to project to Tokyo, now!"

"Sora?" The voice was still groggy, but he heard rustling sheets, and alarm in her voice at the urgency. "What's wrong?"

"There's a heartless in Shibuya, near the crossing." He halted to a stop in front of a motorcycle propped behind the store. A polished Harley Davidson FXSTC Softail. He was already opening the attached compartment in the back to pull out a pair of goggles. "I think a Sora is already there fighting it. It's gonna take me almost an hour to get there, I won't be able to stop the news crew from seeing his face." Once the tinted goggles were secure, he pulled out the rounded black helmet. "You gotta keep him outta sight and explain things until I get there!"

"Sora are you out of your mind?!" Because it was night where she was, he couldn't see her face, but he could hear the movement on her side, and the sound of sliding drawers. "You can't go into danger like that, what if you faint?!"

"Do I have a choice?" He snapped back. "If I don't go, universe order is gonna blow up! This thing is huge, Kairi, this is gonna be another world wide disaster!"

"Huge?!" She shrieked. "How big is this thing?"

"Godzilla big!"

"AIP-!"

The screen shut off, and Sora shoved his phone in his pocket. He plopped on the helmet and clicked it closed before swinging his leg over the bike and pulling out his keys to ignite it. Normally he at least walked it out from behind the convenience store before blazing off, but this time he just zipped off, only making cursory glances before darting onto the street and kicking up speed.

A heartless that massive meant there was already an opening. And there would definitely be more pouring in.

Dread filled his heart. How had the other Sora found his way here? How big was the doorway to allow that monster through? Was it the work of a villain? Was there some universe travel the other Sora had used that went wrong?

Was it him?

Whatever the case was, Sora was going have to go on massive damage control real soon if Kairi couldn't help him avoid the news crew. He trusted this Sora would be able to defeat that thing, but the second his face was plastered all over the news, they were done for. They'd have to come up with a story and fast.

The speed limit on the 311 express way was about 100 km/h. On his American model gauge that was about 60 mph. It was a designated main street in the city, allowing high speeds for quick travel, but still in the middle of the metropolitan. Even an hour was probably generous for an eta, and Sora wasn't sure he could afford the delay. He scouted the cars as he turned on, debating the risks. It wasn't rush hour, so he wasn't expecting traffic anyway, but could he afford to speed and risk some kind of accident?

The sound of police sirens made him jump guiltily, and he double checked his speed to be sure it hadn't crept up while he wasn't looking. No, he was still in the clear…

The patrol sped past him, accelerating down the expressway at a speed that actually shocked Sora. Mostly because they were going down and not seeming to chase anyone. And then a few civilian cars started merging over to the far right, readying themselves for the upcoming turns. And then a few more. A few more…

And then it hit him. The radios. Of course they would be declaring a national emergency right now. They must be urging all the citizens to stay clear of Shibuya. Which meant the roads would be…

Perfect.

He signaled by habit before swerving over to get out of the right lane. He revved the engine and kicked it into high gear, blazing down the road to get to Shibuya as fast as his bike would go.

Down at the Hikarie building, people had already cleared the streets. Parts of buildings, cars, and debris floated from the black vines pulling them up. People were running as fast as they could- when they weren't dumb enough to try to record what was happening on their phones, at least.

'It really is like Godzilla,' Kairi thought to herself as she looked upon it. 'He's actually destroying the city!'

Ready as quickly as she could be, she had thrown on khaki shorts and a purple t-shirt with white sneakers. Her pixie-cut was haphazard, having forgotten to straighten it. There was a scream from her left, and she looked to see a man that was on the ground, one leg impaled by a large, broken piece of window glass. A woman was helping him, trying to get it off and get him to stand and get away. Kairi took off, mentally prepping herself to yank out the piece and give the man a healing spell.

Only for the separated section of a skyscraper come crashing down onto the couple. Kairi skid to a stop, a strangled cry of horror escaping her.

"Take this!"

The shout of a familiar voice made her turn back to the matter at hand, staring down the dark giant before her. From this far she could really only make out a silhouette of a person, and his attacks. He was jumping from debris, to car, to debris, running up giant limbs and striking with what she could only assume was that infamous "keyblade". She could see brilliant light and shapes whaling into the heartless in an impressive feat, telling her that he was indeed as a great of a fighter as Sora (her Sora) had claimed. And all around him were more pieces of the city being torn up, the monster wreaking destruction despite his best efforts. From above, a helicopter circled that she could only assume was the news. And looking backwards she could see the outline of a van with a satellite on it. Sora was right, he never would have made it in time on his own. But as it was, she couldn't very well ask him to stop fighting this thing, could she?

Kairi drew the blade at her hip- a wooden bokken carved in the manner of a short sword- and charged with a battle cry. She gripped the handle with both hands, and it began to glow bright. Another moment, and then she was a blur, slicing the beam of light into the foot of the giant. It reared back, releasing a cry and buckling onto his knee. Sora followed him down, landing on the street and looking to the figure glowing bright behind the heartless.

'Who's-?'

But the sight of the behemoth raising his hand for an attack stopped his questions, and he held up his blade to charge in again. Using the chain on his blade to grab hold of a streetlight, he yanked himself out of the way to avoid the massive hand slamming down, just before jumping back over and bringing his blade down in a wheeling combo on the limb.

Behind the heartless, Kairi didn't have a way to yank herself up on the floating debris to get to the monster's face. But she noticed a new piece being grabbed, and ran onto it just in time, hitching a ride into the air. With Sora distracting him, she had enough time to jump on its back, and run up his spine as quick as she could, charging her blade again into a long, brilliant beam of light. Using spiritual energy to leap the last few meters to the base of it's wings, she spun with a battle cry, slicing into it's appendages in a cyclone of light and power. The behemoth reared back with a cry, roaring into the sky.

'Glad whoever that is is on my side,' Sora thought to himself, readying his keyblade for the next assault. 'But who-?'

He got his answer when the stranger fell from the monster's back. She ran around it to join him in the front.

"Kairi!?" He gaped as she spun to stand next to him, holding her wooden sword at the ready. "What are you doing here? I thought Stretzila said-"

"Look," she turned to face him. "I promise I'll explain everything later. But we have to hurry and defeat that thing before more people get hurt!"

And then he gaped- not at her words, but this close to her face, he could finally see the differences that weren't apparent from afar. She was Kairi, yes, but… more elegant, sharper, and… "Wait… you're not-"

But a sudden echoing roar interrupted them, and from the buckled monster spread a pool of darkness onto the street. Kairi brought her hands together quickly, and a bright white shield engulfed the both of them, protecting them just as inky black strands of energy snaked around the fallen cars, pieces of buildings, and pieces of street and cement. They flew up, and then hurled toward them, crashing into the shield. From behind them, they could hear a few screams, telling them there had been a few stragglers that were now getting the message to flee double time.

"He's getting desperate!" The keyblader yelled over the crashes. "We must be getting close!"

It was a nice notion- too bad it was interrupted by the sound of the helicopter whirring getting louder. Both Sora and Kairi looked up to see more helicopters had joined the first. A couple normal news station ones, and several dark green military helicopters speeding toward them, circling around the giant heartless. She could see the news crew backing off to allow the military to work- though it was most likely just to get better shots of the army at work.

"Everyone, please evacuate the area immediately. Everyone, please evacuate the area immediately."

'The Jieitai!' Kairi gasped. 'Then that means we can get out of here!'

"Come on!" She said to him, dropping the shield and grabbing his wrist. "We have to go!"

He shouted as she yanked him, stumbling to keep up. "But the heartless!"

"They'll take care of it!" she assured. "But we have to get clear first!"

But straight up a head was a news crew in the distance, so she knew they couldn't risk going down there. At the intersection she turned to the right to try that way- but there were two vans with satellites on the roofs coming down, and she knew they would catch sight of them. So she looked to the left, surprised to see what looked like a fleet of green jeeps heading down the road. Was that-?

"LOOK OUT!"

Sora tackled her out of the way, just as a car slammed him and sent him flying.

"SORA!"

He crashed, rolling to a stop on the street. Kairi dove for him, managing to get a barrier up just in time to hold off another onslaught of debris.

"Sir!" Came the shout in a helicopter. He was radioing at the control panel. "Two civilians are still in proximity of the monster! One appears hurt and the other is… holding up some kind of... magic dome!"

"A what!?" Came the angry shout over the radio.

"I-I think that person is defending the other one, sir! I-It's some kind of magic dome stopping the cars hitting!"

"Shit, I can't believe we're fighting real life Kaiju," whispered his comrade to himself.

"If that person has magic, then treat them like a monster too! Open fire!"

At this point, Sora had made it onto the 3 expressway. He passed two patrol cars, and saw others on the side roads, and two different helicopters flying above to race toward the city. He could see more in the distance, all coming from different directions toward the epicenter of the invasion. 'That must be the Defense Force!' he realized. 'I should've known they'd come here. Guns might not work, but I bet a few rockets will.'

It's not like heartless were invincible after all- they just had powers. That meant they could leave it to the army and make a break for it. Sora just had to be the getaway car. Er, bike. As he got closer, he could swear he saw flashes of black in one spot between the buildings, though the helicopters circling around it was what confirmed his suspicions.

'Shit, a blockade!'

From a distance he could see the flashing lights and cars stopped at the expressway on the mouth of down town. He should have known that was why all the cars had exited already. That was why the police were rushing to the scene, to clear the area for the army. He braked and made a sharp turn for a right exit, slowing down so he could weave his way around the side streets.

'There's gotta be a way in somewhere,' he thought to himself as he looked toward the skyscrapers. 'People, people… blockade-'

A loud honk alerted him to a truck coming down a road he hadn't looked at, and he swerved quickly out of the way. People were still pouring out of the streets, while some were standing in the crowd or on the roofs and balconies to try to watch the disaster unfolding. He was going in a haphazard circle around the down town area, inching his way closer with each turn and seeing with dread a blockade on the distance entrance of each road. How was he going to get in?

He got his answer when he saw flashes of green in the distance. That was the army! The roads would clear for them, Sora could definitely use that-

A scream put his eyes back on the road to see people sprinting the intersection. He panicked and braked, swerving his bike sideways. His tires screeched down the road as the people shrieked and ducked for the impending crash. Instinct more than thought, he threw his arm out, bringing up a ringing wall of energy in front of the unwitting bystanders. His bike slammed into the barrier, bouncing back to force Sora to plant his foot as a kickstand.

"Sorry!" He called after the people shrieking and running off. "Sorry..." He looked at his bike and gently pat the handle-bars. "Sorry Grandpa Kent..."

He turned his bike straight, but hesitated as he looked out at the buildings of the downtown. He looked down at his bike in thought. And then, setting his face, he started up the gas again and turned down the main road toward the blockade.

'Here goes.'

Cloudy black energy seeped from his body, pouring instantly down over the motorbike. Giving the appearance of smoke trailing behind him, the cloud of darkness made him appear twice as large- and ten times as terrifying. He turned sharply down a main road, making a beeline for a blockade to the skyscrapers. Civilians and police alike dove aside and ducked for their lives automatically, watching in shock as a dark cloud literally shot a burst of violent energy into the ground to launch into the air, sailing over the blockade and clanging loudly onto the road on the other side. The engine roared, sailing down the street to the destruction ahead.

"Go straight for missiles! Fire, fire, fire!"

The loud whistles warned them just before the blasts exploded light and heat onto the monster. It roared in pain, turning angrily to the helicopter that had fired- only to get another explosion from behind from a different one.

"Sora, wake up! Wake up!" Kairi cried desperately.

Amazingly, he did, wincing as he got himself to sit and look around to gain his bearings. "What-?" Another whistle and explosion, and he jumped up to awareness quickly. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Kairi said. "But we have to go!"

The heartless raised the cars in it's hold, angrily hurling them at it's new flying enemies. The helicopters were faster, zipping out of the way to just barely avoid the hits.

"But they're in danger!" He argued.

"It's okay, they're military." Kairi assured, dropping the shield. "They know how to fight. But we have to go so we don't get caught up in it!"

He flinched, glancing up at the fight for himself. And seeing the artillery moving against the monster, he could see she was right. So he followed her sprinting, racing down the street for safety.

Looking up ahead, he could see a bunch of green cars coming towards them, and could figure out that these were also a part of the "military" this person was talking about. There was a new sound he was picking out, something like a mechanical growl getting louder. The woman that looked like Kairi stopped and looked toward it, and he did the same, seeing an individual coming in on a motorbike. He swerved around and screeched to a halt in front of them, putting his foot down to lean toward them.

"Did anyone see him?" The stranger asked her. Wait, that voice-

"Only from a distance." Kairi assured. "No one would recognize him."

"Recognize me?" Sora spoke up. "What do you mean? I thought this was a different-"

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" The stranger yelled suddenly, making them both jump. The stranger pointed to him angrily. "I changed my hair so I wouldn't look like you anymore! Hurry and change yours back!"

Sora just gaped dumbly. "Wha- what are you talking about?" He reached up to touch said hair. "I didn't even change this- it did it itself!"

"Oh, so I'm guessing you didn't spend weeks and weeks researching styles and your face shape and experimenting with it until it was perfect!"

"No, it happened in my sleep."

With the goggles on, Sora couldn't see the stranger's face. But he did see the way his mouth parted in a clear display of irritation.

"Guys," Kairi pointed to the oncoming military parade. "We have to go."

The stranger clicked his tongue angrily, then turned to him to jerk his head back. "C'mon, get on."

"To where?" He asked pointedly. "I'm not leaving Strelizia."

"Strelizia?" The Kairi look-alike asked, then turned to the stranger questioningly. "Who's that?"

But before he could answer, there was a loud shout from the oncoming convoy. "All civilians are ordered to evacuate the area immediately!"

"Alright, we'll pick her up too," The stranger said. "Just tell me where she is."

Satisfied, he swung his leg over and hopped on. "She's down that road," He pointed down the eastbound main thoroughfare. "I'll tell you how to get there."

Kairi hopped onto the attached trunk compartment behind him, holding onto his shoulders. He did the same to the stranger when the motorbike jerked to life, and sped down the street.

"...Wait," Kairi called over over the engine, leaning over Sora's shoulder to yell at the stranger. "I thought you said you were an hour away! How'd you get here so fast?!"

Since Sora was holding his shoulders, he felt the stranger tense. "Uh, no traffic!" He called back. "Clear streets!"

She scowled. "How fast were you going?"

He winced, revving the engine to speed up. "Uh, SORRY! GOTTA DRIVE!" He called, ignoring the yelling of the soldiers, and his friend.

"There!" Sora said a few turns later, pointing up at a building. "She's up in there."

The stranger and the Kairi doppleganger looked up at the giant building in shock.

"Wait-" the stranger pointed up to said building. "Are you saying she lives in there?!"

"Yeah."

"Jeez, how rich is this person!?"

"Not sure," Sora shrugged. "But she let me have a place to stay while I'm here."

And then the stranger turned to him. "She gave you a loft in Aoyama?!"

Kairi-look-alike touched the stranger's shoulder. "We can argue about it later, we have to get out of sight."

Said stranger grumbled as he slowed, and turned into the driveway to get to the entrance. "I don't suppose you know her number," he called over the motor.

"Uh, no, not really."

"Then we'll have to go up and get her." He turned off the bike and planted his foot to lean on it. "Kairi, do you think you can be look out? They might try to find my bike."

She nodded. "I'll hide it if I see anyone."

"Thanks," he said to her. But then his gaze dropped suddenly, and he was staring intently at what looked like her neck. "Uh, but you may wanna fix that real quick."

She blinked and looked down automatically in confusion. "What?" she asked. "Is there something on my shirt?" She picked at her shirt in question- and then promptly screamed and popped like a bubble, vanishing without a trace.

"KARI!" Sora jumped and spun around in horror to stare at the now empty space. "What happened?! Where is she?!"

"She's fine!" the stranger assured, but had started snickering as he stood and slid his leg over the seat. "She just put her shirt on backwards. Now c'mon, let's get this friend of yours."

Sora had dismounted automatically to let him prop the bike up, but he was still horrified as he followed him through the automatic doors. "How does that explain why she vanished?!"

The lobby was luxury and spotless. The pale marble made their steps echo. But the stranger didn't even seem phased. "What you saw was basically her soul. She can astral-project to different places and universes. Right now she's safe, back at home, turning her shirt around so she doesn't look like a mess."

The last part he said with a bit of a laugh as he clicked the button and waited for the elevator. The place was empty, apparently having either been evacuated, or people hiding out in their lofts.

"So she wasn't even there," Sora whispered to himself in wonderment. "Wow..."

"How much did you tell her?" The stranger asked, more seriously.

"Who, Kairi?"

"This friend of yours," he said, turning to him. He still had on his goggles, but the frown was more than apparent. "Strel… Stretz..."

"Strelitzia."

"That one."

"Not a lot," he confessed. "Mostly it was her telling me about this world."

"Good," he said. "Let's keep it that way."

Sora just tilted his head.

The elevator dinged, and the doors opened. They walked in and Sora reached out to press the high floor button.

"What about heartless?" The stranger asked. "Have there been others too?"

"Yeah," he said. "They were appearing on the way to that one."

"Shit," he whispered under his breath.

"Who is she?" He asked to the stranger, who was only about two inches taller than him. "That girl just like Kairi… Her name was Kairi too, but I know it's not her. Who is she?"

The stranger didn't react at first, and then sighed heavily. "She is Kairi, just not your Kairi. She's what you would call an alternate. She was born in this universe and grew up here, living a life completely different from yours."

"Oh..." he breathed. "So it's like… a "her", but a different "her"?"

"Yeah."

"Then, are there other versions of my friends too?" He asked excitedly. "Donald and Goofy? Riku?"

The stranger flinched. "Well, sort of..."

The elevator opened, and Sora led the way down the hall. Well, next to him anyway since he was paying attention to the stranger.

"Thing is… Donald and Goofy exist, but not as people. In this world, they're… fictional."

"Fictional?" He tilted his head. "Like, from a story?"

"Yeah," he nodded, keeping his head down. "They're from a series of stories that a lot of people like here. Them… and the king."

Sora gaped. "The king, too?"

They stopped at the door, and Sora reached out to open it. But the stranger grabbed his shoulder before he could.

"That's why you can't talk to anyone about your friends. Not the two, not the king, or anyone you met on other worlds. People will think you're crazy- or worse, they learn about other universes, and we're all doomed."

"World order, I know," he said easily with a nod. "I won't break it."

"Universe order," he corrected. "The stakes are bigger here. So don't mention them to your friend either."

He blinked. "But she already knows about them. She's from my universe."

The stranger balked. "She's what?!"

Sora opened the door, but the apartment was empty. He led him to the open back doors to the balcony. There, looking out over the railing, was a short girl with white clothes and bright carrot-top pigtails. She turned at their arrival, and offered a smile.

"Hello, Sora," she greeted, and then turned to the stranger. She offered a bigger smile. "You must be Sora."

"Huh?" Sora blinked, and then turned to the stranger. "Your name is Sora too?" And then everything they had spoke of came back to him, and he reared back. "Wait, don't tell me you're-"

Dropping all pretenses, the stranger reached up to finally unbuckle and take off his helmet. Hair identical in length and style to his, it set itself apart only by being jet black. And as he removed his goggles, a face similarly formed and shaped as his greeted him. Though his eyes were bright sun-yellow gold.

Sora gasped. "Vanitas? You're alive?"

But he was looking at Strelitzia in rage.

"Tell me who you are," he demanded, and Sora really thought he would attack her any second. "And just what the hell you two are doing in my universe."

hello HELLO everyone! Welcome to nonsense and adventures galore! First two chapters will be serious since we need backstory, but… we'll see what happens after that. ;)
