Summary: Rogue and Gambits Lives together

notes: I still cannot write in accents I am sorry. There is some brief angst but its worth it I promise.

It was a typical day at Xaviers' mansion as Remy Labeau, aka Gambit, started packing his bags and getting ready for his next adventure. Most of the X-men didn't mind this; Remy was never really part of the group; he was just there, and hiscolorfulpast made him hard to trust. Except for the Storm, that is. She was the one who convinced him to join the X-men after he got banished from the thieves' guild.

"Are you sure there is nothing I can do to convince you to stay?" the weather goddess pleaded, her concern for her friend palpable. She did not want to see him wander aimlessly.

"Sorry, Stormy, but It's time for dis Cajun to find the next adventure. Sides, it's not like I'll be missed here."

"I'll miss you. The others will warm up to you; they are just paranoid. But the Professor trusts you, and that's what counts."

"I know when I'm not wanted, there is no use in fighting it. And don't worry kid; I'll keep in touch; you can't get rid of me that easily." After double-checking that all his belongings are accounted for and that he has all his cards, Remy throws his duffle bag over his shoulder.

"Let me walk you out then; maybe I can convince you to stay."

"I doubt it, but Gambit won't mind the company." The two of them walk to the garage, where his bike is, and she asks him what his plans are after he leaves. He tells her that he mainly plans on drifting and taking an odd job here and there, making his way to the West Coast. "After that, I'll just see where I end up and go from there."

The two hugged goodbye, but before Gambit could hop onto his bike, there was a gust of wind, and the blackbird landed outside the garage.

"It looks like the Professor has arrived with the new student. Would you care to join me in saying hello before you leave?"

"Ah, what the hell! It couldn't hurt," Leaving his bag on the seat, the two walked outside, Jean, Logan, and Beast extiting from the front door to meet them. Slowly, the ramp lowered; the Professor was the first to weel out, then Scott, and after him followed...the most beautiful woman Gambit had ever seen. Eyes wide and jaw dropped, the man was convinced he was looking at some unearthly beauty. She had dark red hair with white streaks running down her face. Her eyes were the most shining emerald green he had ever seen, and he'd stolen a lot of emeralds.

Once he picks his jaw off the ground, Storm nudges him with a knowing look, and he will go introduce himself to her. He kisses her hand like the gentleman he is, and when she blushes and introduces herself as Rogue while tucking a strand of white hair behind her ear, he decides right then and there that he has to stay,

He spends every moment he can with her, sitting next to her at breakfast, making sure she always gets extra beignets, scheduling all his danger room sessions to train with her, and following her around the school like a lost puppy. Everyone knows that wherever you find Rogue, Gambit is never far behind. It took a while for her to warm up to him; after all, Rogue spent the majority of her life keeping people at arm's length for their safety; what do you do when they throw caution at the wind and clearly have a death wish? Gambit didn't have a death wish tho; he just loved her so much that to him, consequences be damned.

Things changed between them after Savage Land, where he professed his love for her and kissed her. Once they returned to the mansion and settled in, they knew they had to talk. The two of them were in the garden.

"Did ya really mean what ya said back there, sugar?" She holds herself self-consciously. "You know things will be difficult for us; i-i can't touch you, Remy. You know that. If you want to back out right now, I understand. We can still be friends."

Smiling at her, Gambit grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing her. "Chère, you are worth it to me, and I'll be here for as long as you'll have me."

She wasn't ready for something official but wanted him in her life, so they started their situationship. The two of them would flirt and have fun. He would kiss her hand and call her Chère; she would laugh and call him swamp rat, put her hand on his lips, and kiss him. They were happy.

Then Magneto became the leader of the X-men, and old skeletons were brought out of the closet. Before Rogue joined the X-men, she was part of the brotherhood and worked closely with Magneto, where they discovered he was the only one who could touch her. This led to a brief affair until she left them; the two of them pretended nothing had happened, but things got heated and awkward once he returned.

It was as if the two men were playing tug-of-war, and Rogue was the rope. It all came to a halt at Genosha when Rogue rejected Magneto, and Gambit died. Soon after that, Apocalypse brought him back as one of his four horsemen of death, with the only memories of his past life being that of pain.

"You left me to Die!" Death shouted, throwing a supercharged card at Rogue.

She was quick to dodge it, only fighting on the defensive.

"I gave you my life and love, and you tossed me aside to become queen with a terrorist." He throws punch after punch, and she keeps dodging as if they were in a dance.

"I know, but I choose you, Remy." She tells him with tears in her eyes. After that, he hesitated for a moment before regaining his composer.

"Death needs no one," He yells back.

"Your name is Gambit; remember it!" After that, he was taken out of Apocalypse's control. After the battle, he was knocked out in a coma for weeks; Rogue was by his side the whole time. Once he woke up, she took off her glove, placed it on his lips, and kissed him. He was surprised at first but relaxed into it.

"I was so worried about you, Remy." She cried.

"Aw, glad to know you care, Chère." He winced a little.

"Of course, I care about you, Remy; I love you." He was shocked to hear this; she was always so hesitant and not shy but withdrawn. But here she is, professing her love to him.

"What about Genosha? And Mag-" She places her finger on his lips, shushing him.

"He's not you." They smile at each other. He wants to cup her cheek but doesn't have gloves, opting to run his hands up and down her arms.

"I love you two, Rogue."

"Anna-Marie," he looks at her in surprise, his brain not catching up with her words; she laughs softly, "My name is Anna-Merie."

"Well, I love you, Anna-Merie." He grabbed her gloved hand and kissed it, "How do you feel about the name LeBeau."

After that, the two made things official. They went on dates, moved in together, and could always be seen together. He took her down south to meet his family. Mercy loved her, taking her all over the town and going to every store. Henri and Jean-Luc were happy that he found someone to settle down with. By the end of the day, she was officially part of the family. And it wasn't long until he proposed. Down on one knee, he held out an emerald ring, ready to dedicate the rest of his life to this woman.

"Anna-Marie, every day you make me the luckiest man in the world, and I don't know what I did to deserve you. Will you make this old Canju the happiest man ever and Marry him?"

"Yes, yes, yes." He carefully places the ring on her finger, and she kisses him. They had their wedding down south with their family, Kurt the Officiant. It was simple and elegant, and when Remy saw Rogue walking down the aisle in a sleeveless mermaid-cut dress with long shoulder-length sleeves and a floor-length veil; he knew he had won the jackpot. Around her neck was an early wedding gift from Forge and Beast: a power-dampening necklace.

Their honeymoon was fantastic, with a whole month just for them. Once it was over, though, they fell into a nice little routine back in New York. They got their own place, close enough to the mansion to still be in their friends' lives but also have their own space. During this time, Rogue was working on her powers and got to the point where she could control them.

"Close your eyes, Swamp Rat; I have a surprise for you." She sat him on the bed, her hands on his shoulders.

"Ya don't say, where is it."

"Close your damn eyes, and you'll find out."

Shaking his head and letting out a soft laugh, he complied. He felt a soft and warm sensation on his cheek before feeling his wife's soft lips on his own. He was initially confused because the two of them had always kissed when she had her necklace...

His eyes snapped open, and he saw her with a coy little smile and no power dampener, "Suprise Sugar."

"Tu ne cesses jamais de m'étonner, mon amour" running his fingers across her cheek. Once she had complete control over her powers, they entered a new level of their relationship, one they were all too happy to explore. Soon, there was another surprise that Rogue and Remy were going to encounter.

Rogue sat nervously on the couch, trying to appear nonchalant, reading a cheesy romance novel. Deep inside, she was stressing, what she was about to tell Remy would change their lives forever, and she had no idea how he would react. Hell, she has no idea how she's supposed to react. He was currently in the kitchen, cooking dinner for them. She's been on the same page for the last 15 minutes when she heard him open the oven. There was a pause.

"Hey, Chère, did you leave a loaf of bread in the oven!?"

"Hmm?" she responded absentmindedly. She heard his footsteps getting closer, and he leaned against the wall with the loaf of bread in his hands.

"This loaf of bread, did you put it in the oven?"

"Looks more like a bun if you ask me." She prayed that her voice didn't give away how nervous she was.

"Well, did you put this bun in the ove-" His voice caught off abruptly, and she could see the wheels turning in her head. She bit her lip nervously, watching him. He looked like a statue.

"Remy...are you ok." Silently, he stumbles forward and falls in front of her.

"I-is this for real?" His voice is horsey and shaky. Wordlessly, she nods, and he brings his hand up to her flat stomach.

"What are you thinking?" She asked him.

"That depends. How do you feel about this?"

"I don't know. I'll be honest, I'm so scared; I never thought I'd get to have this, but.." She places her hand on top of his. "This might be one of the happiest moments of my life."

He kisses her hand before moving it to kiss her stomach, "This is one of the best moments in my life too, Mon Amor."

The dinner he was making was put on temporary hold; the casserole could wait. They were cuddling on the couch, dreaming about their future, and talking to the baby in French.

Nine months later, in the spring of 1999, Remy and Rogue welcomed their daughter, Josephine Marie "Josie" LeBeau, into the world. Even at a few hours old, she was a perfect copy of her mother, with the exception of her red and black eyes. Rogue lay on the bed tired, and the baby girl was sleeping on her chest. Gambit couldn't help but stare lovingly at his girls. He knew right then and there that he would do anything for them: fight, kill, die again, all to make sure that they were safe and loved.

Three years later, their daughter Henrietta Jean "Hetty" was born, with copper red hair, bright green eyes, and black sclera. The sisters were as thick as thieves, always up to some sort of mischief, and they had their Papa wrapped around their fingers. The two girls could really do no wrong, and eventually, their mutations came into power.

Josie's was simple. She canceled out the powers of anyone she touched, whether they were Munant, Mutate alien, or god. Hetty's were a combination of her parents; she could absorb and transfer the energy of anything or anyone she touched. When they were five and eight, respectively, they welcomed their little brother, Louis Logan "Louie" LeBeau, who inherited a tamer version of his mom's mutation, copping people's powers, and his dad's bright Red eyes, tho he does have white sclera.

The family of five was completed. Rogue and Gambit decided to retire as X-men and settle in Krakoa, where they own one of, if not the biggest, casinos on the island. They spend their summers down south with thier family.

Years passed, and they lived a happy life. As the children got older, they found their way in life, going to school, moving out, getting married, and having their own kids. This is where the couple found themselves in their family home in the bayou, on a porch, sweet tea in hand, watching their grandchildren playing in the water and looking for snakes.

They were hand in hand, not having to wear gloves for years. Rugging his thumb on her hand, he turned to look at his beauty, which was still as breathtaking as the day he had met her.

"Je vous aime River rat."

"Je vous aime à, Swamp rat." He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles.

"Every day, I am grateful that I didn't leave the Xmen the day you arrived at the manor; I can't imagine my life any other way.

"Same sugar." She hummed, looking into each other's eyes and listening to their grandkids laugh.

"Marie, stop it," Beau shrieked, running away from the girl chasing him with a small snake.

"He's not going to hurt ya!"

"Luc, Help me!" The five children were running around like a ruckus, their parents trying to get them in order.

Anna-Marie rested her head on Remy's shoulder, watching her family content, and he thought back to that fateful day, knowing he wouldn't change a damn thing.

I tossed my bag onto my bike and went to introduce myself to the new recruit. I didn't want to be rude, so what if she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen? Stormy was giving me a knowing look, but I shrugged her off; after all, it's not like I was staying for long. There was already a small crowd around her, and I caught the end of her conversation.

"- see if I like it here." I caught my breath; good lord, she was also southern. Our eyes met, and I had a millisecond to compose myself before I looked like a love-struck fool. Laying the charm thick, I grabbed her hand, bringing it to my lips, "Enchantée, name Gambit, but you can call me Remy." I couldn't believe I told her my actual name; most of the X-men didn't even know my name; only Stormy, Logan, and the Professor knew. The others were shocked, too, but it was worth it when I saw her reaction. She blushed profusely, and I decided that I wanted to see that a lot more. After a minute, she seemed to regain her confidence.

"Charmed Sugar names Rogue." Hearing her voice again was music to my ears. "Nice accent, don't tell me, New Orleans,"

"Oui," I gave her my best devilish smirk.

"Well, what do ya know, we neighbors, my old stomping grounds is Missisipy."

"The best things do come from down south." I squeezed her hand before letting her go.

"So, are you an X-men too?" she asked, fidgeting with her gloves.

Scott was about to open his mouth, but Storm and Jean shushed him. "Why yes, I am; if you want, I would be happy to give you the tour."

"That would be lovely, thank you." She's about to pick up her bag before I stop her.

"Allow me." I grab her bag and offer her my arm; she hesitates before taking it. From the corner of my eye, I see Storm grabbing the bag that I left on my bike with a knowing smirk. As we make our way in, the only thing I can think is:What did I get myself into?

notes: what do you like my oc children? Idk might write more stuff with them.
