Dasosiglord2.0: Hahahahaha...no.
Cyber Phazon GotDM: Wow...okay, let's tone down the creativity there, buddy. Also yes, thou shall love Eevee no matter what.
Viridian City, Kanto
"Hmmm..." Tai hums as he stirs a pot he bought from the Poke-Mart for a whopping 7500 Poke-Dollars. He still winces at the price and reluctantly pays for it as he hears his wallet sobbing. Thankfully, it wasn't exactly a total waste of money as he can use this for more variety of foods.
And said the money was refunded thanks to beating a certain idiot in a Pokemon battle and capturing him for his crimes.
Right now, he's cooking a porridge, more specifically prawn-seasoned seafood porridge. The reason why is that he's not allowed to borrow the Pokemon Center's kitchen as it was for the hired chef and their slaves, I mean, interns. And he decides to just cook in the backyard, definitely not because he didn't want to be a slave, I mean, intern.
He was a bit surprised to find out animals do exist in Pokemon World, especially the ones for delicacies like chicken, cow, pigs, and fish. It's just that they were mostly specially bred because Pokemon exist everywhere.
Tai found out that they were almost extinct when Pokemon breeding was introduced and took the world by storm. The sudden rise of Pokemon populations meant that they would require more food, and it was so bad that it almost drove normal animals to extinction.
Thankfully, the one who introduced Pokemon Breeding came up with a solution. It...wasn't exactly the smartest one but since it works, no one is complaining.
The solution was to breed the animals.
...yeah, Tai was speechless at the stupid and simple solution. At first, he was right, as the mass breeding between Pokemon immediately causes overpopulations, and Pokemons start to eat others like how animals were. So, to prevent a complete extinction, the animals were kept away from the wild, and whenever they started to overpopulate, they would use them as food stocks.
...Tai is still trying to process the whole weird history of this world, but he decides to stop it, or he'll lose more brain cells. Right now, he decided to just focus on cooking.
He was glad for the compensation money as he was now able to buy spices from the mart, which, to his surprise, were very cheap, but he ain't complaining. He first prepared a porridge, but he made sure to add the prawn.
As he stirs for several minutes, he then adds some carrots along with mushrooms before he stirs it for another several minutes. Then, he lowers the heat and pours the beaten eggs into it and the green onion as he stirs. He can feel the smell coming out of the porridge, and he can't help but want to eat it himself, but he holds back.
He looks at the cooked magikarp, completely seasoned unlike his previous attempts, before he turns off the heat. One thing Tai likes about Magikarp meat is that the fishy smell is easy to get rid of with the usual ingredients used for the usual fish. The meat only consists of protein along with other nutrients and no fats whatsoever, so it's pretty healthy to consume.
And he was glad that he always cleaned their organs off because all the waste and harmful substances were contained in the organs. So, his habit of cleaning the animal's innard saves his life.
"Alright..." Tai mutters before he uses his newly bought knife to cut the Magikarp into multiple pieces and places it on the porridge before he stirs it. "There...my new Magikarp and prawn porridge."
He must've imagined it, but the food glows for a brief second. He ignores it before he gains a notification.
[Skill: Advance Chef has leveled up]
"Cool!" Tai exclaims excitedly before looking at the porridge and activates his Appraisal.
[Magikarp and Prawn Porridge]
[Rank: B]
[A nutritious food created with love and care by Tai Yasuno, full of nutrients and flavors. Those who eat it shall recover their strength and full of vitality]
[Effect: Slight Strength Increases, Slight Durability Increases, Health Improvement, Cold Resistance, Slight Growth, Water Type Aura Recovery, Full Appetite]
Tai was double-take at the effects it could provide from a mere food he cooked with more care. The effects of the food are what shocks Tai as he thought most of the insane buffs were from the effect of his Chef's Blessing, but to find out it could have those effects without relying on such skills.
He's glad that he can still cook decent food without relying on his Chef's Blessing. He believes that his food was decent as he sees himself as a student who can still improve, as was shown based on the ranks and the description. Not to mention, his first-hand experience of being humiliated in front of everyone in the university's cooking contest keeps him from bragging about how good his food was.
He still remembers clearly how badly he was humiliated, especially when he was trying to keep his contestant from bullying other kids because they were just new. He knows that the judges were close allies to his opponent to win, but he did taste the food himself and knows that even if they weren't allies, they would still choose him over Tai. It was that day when he cried once more while calling his parents after he stopped for years.
So, he decides that he'll learn more and more so one day, he won't be humiliated in such ways. Of course, he did make sure he didn't go overboard and always took care of himself, knowing if he wasn't healthy, he would be unable to perform fully as a chef. It's one of the reasons he made this porridge, to make sure he and his Pokemon remain healthy.
"Alright, guys. Food's ready!" Tai says as both Yuuki and his Eevee perk up and rush towards them. Tai grabs some bowls and pours the porridge into them before he gives it to them. They were curious about what kind of food Tai had just offered them, having never seen it in their life.
"It's a porridge," Tai says, getting confused looks from both of them. Tai merely smiles in amusement at their reactions. "Just eat it, guys. It's safe to consume." Tai says as he pours the porridge into his bowl.
Both of his Pokemons look at each other before shrugging and eating it. As they touch their food with their tongue, they feel like they have just eaten something very good. They felt warmth in their body, and any fatigue in their body disappeared. For Eevee, his injuries recover quickly, and his body feels lighter while his muscle regains strength.
They immediately devour the entire food wildly as Tai sweatdrops at the scene. He tastes the food and widens his eyes before his mouth forms a warm smile. This porridge is the first food his mom has ever taught him when he first wanted to learn how to cook. He remembers the disaster he once made in his first attempt, causing him to cry at the failure. But he and his mom decide to eat it, believing that wasting food is a sin, and they both make ugly faces every time they eat it, making each other laugh.
'Mom...I'm sorry...' Tai thought solemnly before he continued to eat his food. He decides that even if he can't see his mom or the rest of his family again, he will not wallow in self-pity and continue to live on. He knows his parents don't want him to do that.
"Tai?" Tai snaps out of his thoughts before looking at Yuuki. "You okay?" Tai smiles at him before nodding.
"Yeah, just a trip to memory lane," Tai says before finishing his food. Yuuki could feel his emotion and merely nodded. "Oh, right! I haven't decided to properly give Eevee a nickname?"
"Voi?" Eevee hears his new trainer call him and perks up, tilting his head in confusion. Tai swears he must've imagined it because Eevee somehow grew a bit. He definitely thinks he's imagining it since Yuuki seems to grow slightly.
"Yeah, I want to give you a name for your own identity," Tai says with a smile before scratching his left cheek sheepishly. He loves to do so, even back when he (unofficially) adopted strays or when he played Pokemon when he was a kid, even when, back then, his name choices were questionable.
He did name his dog Growlithe before changing it to Arcanine when he grew older, something his parents won't stop teasing him and he says he got it from his dad. He believes it's the reason why his little brother is named Hana for some reason and his mom, who was too tired when she gave birth to him, agrees without hesitation.
"Anyways..." Tai decides to get out of the memory lane and focus on the current situation. "I got a perfect name for you. Gintama!"
Both Yuuki and Eevee, now Gintama, tilt their head in confusion.
"It means Silver Soul. A one who possesses a soul as pure as silver and a bit of a twist, hoping you could properly discover connections and love." Tai says as he pets Gintama. "I don't know what happened to you, but judging from the reaction you had when I first touched you, I know you never experienced love in your life. So, I'm hoping that you will live up to the name someday."
Gintama stares at Tai before nuzzling his head onto Tai's hand with a soft purr. Tai smiles as he gently pats Gintama.
Yuuki watches Tai for a moment before letting a gentle smile. He was glad that his partner remained a kind person despite he sensed his soul was tainted by the outside world, hence explaining some of his moments. He hates how humanity is now, but he is glad that there are some kind souls here and there, albeit it was very rare.
"Scy?" Everyone froze when they heard an unfamiliar cry. They turn around to see a Scyther pop out of the tree, attracted to the scent of Tai's porridge. To Tai's shock, the Scyther looks terrible; its exoskeleton looks deflated, its blades are dull, its wings look weak, and it won't stop drooling at Tai's porridge!
"...is that a Scyther? Is that a motherfucking, honest-to-Arceus Scyther!?' Tai points out in disbelief. Yuuki did a double-take at Tai's choice of words before shaking his head and focusing on the current problem.
Like Tai said, why is there a Scyther popping out of nowhere, and why does it look like it was starved to death!?
