Breakfast Tells All
Warning: Love Scene
The late morning sunlight streamed through the blinds of Jason's room, casting a warm glow on the rumpled sheets. Kelsi stirred and fell back asleep, waking Jason who's eyes fluttered open with a groggy smile. He took in her slumbering form, her hair a tangle of dark curls against the white pillowcase.
How did I go from missing her to having her in my bed? Like this... Jason wondered as he watched her sleep, a smile tugging at his lips. It felt surreal, like a dream he didn't want to wake from. He couldn't resist reaching for her, the desire to touch her outweighing wanting to let her sleep,
She blinked her eyes open when his fingers brushed her cheek, a smile instantly sweeping across her face as she stretched, slowly coming to consciousness.
"Morning, gorgeous," he whispered. Her groggy smile was infectious and he couldn't help but grin at her.
"Hey, handsome," she mumbled, her hand finding his cheek, "you look happy this morning."
"You do too, like someone wore you out good." He leaned in close to kiss her neck, desire racing through his veins as flashbacks of the night before flooded his mind. "Any chance you're up for another round?" he whispered in her ear, pressing his body closer. Nibbling on her earlobe, his morning wood pressed into her hip, asking for her even though they had just woken up.
Kelsi wiggled closer, squirming at the tickling sensation on her ear. But then she felt his hand making its way slowly up her thigh, on its way to her crevices that were quickly becoming slick with anticipation for him. "I'd say it's too early for that, but it must be nearly ten o'clock," she sighed.
"Don't go anywhere then." He quickly rolled on a condom before pulling her back into his arms.
She spread her legs eagerly, begging him to start the day off right.
He let out a soft laugh as she began to writhe in his arms, his slow strokes making her groan terribly. "It's always time for this, Kels." He drove in deep, urging a loud grunt of pleasure from her throat.
"Do that again," she begged as her breath went shallow.
He leaned his ear close to her lips. "Do what?" he teased, his voice a low rumble like a brewing storm. She swallowed hard as she tried to gather her voice to speak again. "Tell me what you want, Kels."
"Go deep," she managed to plead. "Please, you feel so good."
"Oh, you mean like this?" He pressed into her again, deep and strong making her arch her back uncontrollably.
"Yes! Just like that!" she exclaimed, louder than she wanted and instinctively brought a hand over her mouth.
He gently pried it away, intertwining his fingers with hers before pinning her hand down above her head. "You can be as loud as you want, Kels. I own this place remember?" He drove home again, slamming hard into her tight crevice to bring another loud grunt from her throat.
"Jason!" She yelled as she brought her free hand to his shoulder and launched her hips into his with a powerful thrust of her own.
How he loved hearing her yell out his name. Her desperate voice flooded his senses, sending an urgency racing through his veins like a fire gone out of control. He grabbed her other hand and pinned it against the pillow as well, effectively chaining her to his mattress for his final assault. "Holy shit, you're tight, Kels! I'm not gonna last!" He could feel her muscles contracting around him, making his control vanish entirely.
"Me neither!" she exclaimed in anticipation of the storm behind his darkening eyes that was threatening to crack at any moment. He brought up his speed, thundering into her over and over again while she writhed and strained under her growing climax. Suddenly she gasped loudly and threw her head back into the pillow, the intense release shaking her to the core. The feeling of her torrent of pleasure rippling over him sent his climax surging through his body, catapulting into her with a satisfied groan of his own.
"Damn it, Kelsi, I think that's hardest you've come for me yet."
"I've never had that, ever," she replied, breathless, "it's all you, lover." Her heart pounded in her chest as she realized the implications of her words.
Jason released her hands, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, that's," he started and cleared his throat nervously, "quite a compliment." His lips brushed gently over hers, flitting their way up her cheeks to kiss her eyelids.
Kelsi's stomach did a flip-flop. The word hung in the air, making her conscious of all it implied. She panicked as a wave of uncertainty washed over her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put that label on us," she stammered, her cheeks flushing.
He gently traced a finger along her jaw. "Hey, it's okay. You're right though, technically this does make us lovers." His voice was soft and reassuring as his fingers continued their path down her neck.
"I know," she whispered, "I'm just not sure I was really ready to say that."
Jason rested his forehead on hers and took a deep breath, leading her to do the same. "Honey, if that's how you feel, then you can be honest with me." He shrugged with a nonchalant smile, "I'm already sold on you, you don't have to worry about scaring me off."
Kelsi felt her heart swell, but it was still all so sudden it scared her, even though it felt right. "As good as you feel and as right as this all seems, I'm still trying to take some things slow," she admitted. "I'll have to let you know."
He gave her a soft kiss and smiled back at her. "You know where to find me." She nodded and gave him another quick kiss. "In the meantime, what do you feel like for breakfast?" he asked as he slipped out of bed, dealt with the condom, and returned to step into fresh boxers and jeans.
"Oh, I don't know, I usually just have some tea and toast or a bagel. What about you?"
"Usually oatmeal and coffee, I think I have some bread. I'll go check and get started." Jason pulled a fresh shirt on, smiling at the fact that she was still wearing his from the night before.
"Okay, if you don't, whatever you're having is good. I'll be right down, just need to brush my teeth first."
Jason took one last look at her stretching under the sheet and headed down to the kitchen before he got too turned on again. Connecting his phone to the small speaker he kept in the kitchen, he tuned into his usual morning vibe. It was what he usually listened to, but was he singing along? He didn't sing, not since the last school musical. Even though he was unsure if Kelsi would go for his preference of crashing rock, he took the chance anyways and made a mental note to ask her what she wanted to hear when she joined him. As All-American Rejects ripped low through the speaker, a loud knocking came at his door. Dragging himself to the entryway, still worn out from the morning's activities, he opened the door to the smiling face of his mother.
She stood tapping her foot on the porch, a jar of biscotti in her hands. "Ah Buongiorno, Jason! I called this morning, but you didn't answer."
"Uh, yeah, Ma, I just slept in a bit, you know, Saturday," he replied, instinctively closing the door an inch. "What are you doing here?"
"I had an errand nearby so I thought I'd make a delivery. We missed you when you didn't make dinner on Tuesday, you work too hard my son!" She nodded at the petite pair of flats sitting beside his work boots. "Is someone there with you?" she probed, curious as to who could own those shoes or that purse she could see hanging off one of the island stools.
Jason's mind raced. "Oh um, no. I mean, yes, well…" he stammered.
Lucia narrowed her eyes, her maternal instincts kicking in. "Jason Adriano Cross, are you hiding something from me?"
Before he could concoct a believable excuse, he heard footsteps on the stairs.
"Jason! Where's your toothpaste, baby? I forgot mine!" Kelsi's voice rang out as she plodded down the steps.
Jason panicked, silently hoping she had gotten dressed. But then he saw her, wearing his hoodie and her shorts, and he breathed a short breath of relief. He chuckled nervously as she froze, her eyes going wide at the realization that they weren't alone. "Right drawer, hun, with my shaving cream," he said.
A blush crept up her cheeks. "Oh! hi there," she said, a tremor in her voice emphasizing the awkwardness of the moment. Jason shifted nervously. Their secret was out.
His mother's eyes widened in surprise, then a knowing smile spread across her face. "Well, well, well," she said, her voice laced with amusement. "Looks like someone had a visitor last night."
"Uh Kels, this is my mom, Lucia Cross. Mom, this is Kelsi Nielsen. We uh…" Jason stammered as he tried to explain, but his mother simply waved a hand, silencing him.
"Oh, relax, Jason, I know who Kelsi is, her mom and I go way back," Lucia interrupted, her laughter filling the hall as she handed him the biscotti. "Enjoy that with your breakfast, you two. And Kelsi, it's wonderful to have you back in town. You should come up for lunch tomorrow, my dear, I'm sure his father would love to meet you too if you're this special to Jason."
Jason's face flushed, but as he looked at Kelsi, her smile radiant and her eyes sparkling with amusement, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. His mom might have caught him red-handed, but at least he was caught with the girl of his dreams.
"I'd like that, Mrs. Cross," Kelsi answered with a smile.
"It's settled then, we'll see you both for lunch tomorrow. Arrivederci, Jason!" With a wink and a final wave, Lucia retreated to her car, leaving Jason and Kelsi standing in the hallway, a mixture of relief and amusement washing over them.
"Well, that was interesting," Kelsi remarked, stepping up to Jason's side as he closed the door.
He chuckled softly, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Yeah, subtlety isn't exactly my mom's strong suit." He looked down at her and was caught in her sparkling green eyes. "Wow," he whispered.
"What?" she said with a raise of her eyebrow.
"You're just so beautiful in the morning, especially after last night."
"And this morning," she chuckled with a gentle elbow to his ribs.
"What do you want on your toast?" he asked as she slid away from him with a subtle seductive smile, like she knew exactly what she was doing to him. "I've got butter, peanut butter, and my aunt's homemade strawberry jam."
She slid onto one of the island stools and propped her hand under her chin. "When homemade anything is an option, who's going to turn that down?" Kelsi replied as she watched him work. Her eyes began making their way from his toned arms and broad shoulders down his back to his sexy ass where his usual dark wash jeans hung on his lean hips. That whole package was gently rocking out to some ridiculously energetic music for the morning as he made her breakfast.
Is this a dream? Her toast popped and the sharp ding of the bell probably would have woken her if it was, making her breathe a sigh of relief that she was indeed wide awake.
"Sorry," Jason said as he turned the music down, "I can change that. Is there something you'd rather listen to?"
"Oh gosh no, I love Dirty Little Secret," she giggled as the intro buzzed through the speaker.
He slid her toast slathered in jam to her with a grin. "No way," he said with disbelief, "I would have never guessed."
"Well I like just about anything, but early 2000s punk is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine," she replied. Jason smiled at the coincidence, he knew there had to be a few hidden reasons why he was so attracted to her. "My preferences are pretty limited to rock, hard rock, and more rock," he chuckled and turned to push two more pieces of bread down in the toaster for himself, humming along to the music.
"Your aunt makes delicious jam!" Kelsi remarked as she took a bite of her toast.
"Yeah it's something I look forward to in the summer, she and my mom do a couple big days of making tomato sauce and jam, it's a lot of fun."
"That's so nice," she said with a smile, "when did they make this?" He crossed his arms and leaned against the counter waiting on the toaster.
"That was one of last year's batch," he said before the toaster popped again and he got his own toast coated in the sweet strawberry goop. "I think they're planning for next month to make this years' tomatoes, you should come with me."
"I'd like that, sounds like fun," she said as she licked a stray bit of jam from her lips. He smirked and took the seat beside her.
"It'll be way more fun if you're there," he said with a soft kiss on her cheek. The coffee maker finished dripping as the kettle began to spew a piercing whistle from the stove. Kelsi jumped up to move it from the burner and flicked the whistle off.
"Mugs are where?" she asked, pointing her fingers aimlessly at the cabinets.
"Right over the coffee maker," he replied and watched her retrieve two from the cabinet, "I put your tea in the next cabinet to your left."
"My tea?" She turned halfway around and shot him a confused look. She had assumed he would have tea, everyone should have tea in her mind, but why he was referring to it as hers was a mystery.
He looked down at his own toast, slightly embarrassed, hoping that his explanation wouldn't sound creepy. "Well I know you like tea and I didn't have any, so when I went to get groceries, I got some Earl Grey like you had on our date. Thought I should have some, you know, in case you ever came over."
"So you were planning on bringing me back to your place?" Her voice carried a gentle tease and he breathed a sigh of relief that she didn't look freaked out.
"I had hoped you'd come visit sometime."
"That's really sweet of you to notice, thanks," she said with a smile as she turned back to pouring her tea. While she also poured Jason's coffee, he gazed down her slender legs, one crossed behind the other as her toes tapped to the wild music.
"One cup of motor oil for one sexy gearhead," she remarked as she slid his coffee across the island to him then settled back on the stool beside him with her tea.
Jason couldn't help but smirk at her affectionate teasing as he sipped the hot coffee. Even though it was the same blend he made every morning, the fact that it had been served up by his lover made it taste like the best coffee he'd ever had.
