Terry Black is an 18 year old human Jedi Padawan with black curtained hair from the planet Mandalore. His master, Bruce Kestrel, was from the planet Naboo. When Terry was five, his parents were killed when intergalactic crime syndicate agents from the Black Sun attacked his hometown to steal valuable Mandalorian gear. He watched as his parents died in front of him and as the agents prepared to execute him, he threw his hands out in front, pushing them out a window where they fell a long way to their deaths. When news a force sensitive child was found on Mandalore, the Jedi sent Bruce Kestrel to pick the child up and be that child's master.
During his years in the Jedi Order, Terry grew into a well-mannered, mature young man. Aside from his time as a Jedi, Terry would work as a scientist and a mechanic. He made some friends with several other padawans, including a Togruta female named Ahsoka Tano. During the Clone Wars, Terry excelled as a Commander, leading his troops in battle after battle, winning victory after victory. He won over the support of his men by fighting alongside them in battle and keeping the casualty count low. Sometimes, he and his master would work with Ahsoka and her master, Anakin Skywalker. When Dr. Vindi released his Blue Shadow Virus on Naboo, Terry used his scientific knowledge to help make a cure to the virus in time to save Ahsoka, Captain Rex, and Senator Amidala. After this, his respect in the Order grew.
Terry felt like he got the life that was taken from him back, but then came an incident at the Jedi Temple that would nearly destroy him. What made it worse for him was that he realized that it was a friend of his that would betray him in a most painful manner that it would shake his faith in the Jedi and the Republic. One day, while assisting in the defense of the planet Cato Neimoidia with Anakin and Ahsoka, they were contacted by Master Yoda that they were being recalled to Coruscant to investigate a bombing at the Jedi Temple in the hangar. The bombing had killed several clones, temple workers, and seven Jedi, one of whom was Terry's master. Terry was devastated to hear of his master's death, but was determined to not let his emotions consume him.
During the investigation, it became clear that there were several motives behind the bombing. By this time, the War was starting to take a toll on the people of the Galaxy, the worst was on Coruscant. The people were starting to blame the Jedi for the War and were becoming quite radical in their protests. What made it worse was that a Jedi was involved in the bombing. While interviewing surviving witnesses, the search narrowed down to a temple worker named Jackar Bowmani. Searching his apartment, they found evidence that his wife, Letta Turmond was the perpetrator of the bombing. She had put NM-K reconstitutor nano-droids in her husband's food, turning him into a living bomb. When Letta is arrested, Grand Admiral Tarkin successfully argued that she should be in Republic custody since clone troopers were among the casualties.
With Letta in custody, Tarkin appeared to make the investigation into who the Jedi culprit was a little harder. He suggested that they should focus on Terry, since the nano-droids were from Mandalore as Terry was. No matter how crazy it was, the Jedi could not argue much with Tarkin as he was higher in position. The accusation caused a memory in Terry's mind to awaken. When his parents were killed, he recalled seeing the Black Sun agents stealing several boxes of NM-K nano-droids, giving the possibility that Black Sun could have been involved in the bombing.
When Letta wanted to talk with Ahsoka, Terry insisted that he should talk with her, given the fact that his planet's weapons were involved. Letta relented and allowed Terry to talk to her. Arriving at her cell, Terry could feel a sense of fear coming from Letta. During the interrogation, Letta let it be known that she planned the bombing to strike a propaganda blow to the Jedi. She believed that since the Jedi were so called peace keepers, they were supposed to prevent wars. During the war, she felt like they had become warmongers and were responsible for the Clone Wars. She then said that she was in fear for her life because the Jedi who helped her told her that if she were captured, the Jedi would kill her.
When Terry asks Letta who the Jedi was, she was suddenly killed by a Force Choke by an unknown individual. During the Choke, the security cameras were recording the whole thing and it seemed like Terry was doing the Choke. Terry was then taken into custody for murder he insisted he did not do. During his ordeal, it seemed like the Jedi Council was starting to believe that Terry was indeed the Jedi who helped plan the bombing, despite no evidence. When Terry was informed by Ahsoka that Tarkin was arguing with the Council to have Terry expelled from the Order and face a Republic court martial and that the Council considered, Terry was devastated. After everything he did for the Republic and the Order, the Council still did not fully trust him.
While in custody, Terry noticed a key card on the floor right outside his cell and used the force to use it to open his cell door. He went out and travelled a short distance to a room with several dead Clones and his lightsaber and a comm-link among the carnage. As he picked them up, the Clone Commander Fox noticed him and sounded the alarm, believing Terry was the responsible. Managing to flee, Terry made a mad dash across the base, dodging and deflecting stun gun rays along the way. Anakin, Ahsoka and Rex joined the pursuit, hoping to convince Terry that they were trying to clear his name and he was making it difficult. They did not believe for one second that Terry was guilty.
Running into the sewers, Terry followed the pipe and it led to a massive hole that led to the lower districts of Coruscant. As Terry looked down looking for an easy way, Anakin and Ahsoka caught up. They tried to convince Terry that they were working to clear his name and they would not let the Republic hurt him, but Terry told them the Council thought otherwise. He believed the Council was preparing to watch him die for something he did not do and was putting too much faith in a clouded Force than their own beliefs. With that, Terry jumped out of the pipe, onto a hovercraft that brought him down to the lower districts while Anakin and Ahsoka watched with worried looks.
Now on his own, Terry set out to find a way to clear his name and uncover the true culprit. During this time, he entered an uneasy alliance with Asajj Ventress to help him find the culprit. The commlink he picked up was connected to another friend of his, Barriss Offee, padawan to master Luminara. Barriss secretly helped Terry to follow possible clues to find the culprit. Barriss led Terry and Ventress to a warehouse Barriss said held a powerful clue. As Terry entered and looked around, he was attacked by a hooded cloaked figure who was wearing Ventress' helmet and had her lightsabers.
In the ensuing struggle, the assailant managed to overpower Terry and impale him in the side with one of Ventress' sabers. At that moment, Terry, in a reflex move, grabbed the helmet and took it off the assailant's head. To his horror, it was Barriss! Barriss used the opportunity to use the Force to knock Terry into a pillar and drop a large pile of rubble on his lower half body, trapping him. With Clone Troopers close by, Barriss made her escape after placing boxes of the nano-droids in front of Terry to permanently frame him for the bombing, proving she was the Jedi who assisted in the bombing.
With the Troopers approaching, Terry prepared to succumb to his fate that he will die and be unable to prove that Barriss was the culprit leaving him to take the fall. But, little did he know, a small eight-legged visitor would give him another chance.
