As the group made final preparations before leaving, Terry was standing next to one of the gunships looking out towards the city in the direction they would fly in towards the Black Sun base. As he gazed out towards the open space, his mind starting to flow with the memories of his parents in the days leading up to their deaths.

Mandalore

In one of the towering homes of the Mandalorian elite, lived the Blacks. The mother and father, Mary and Warren, were scientists who invented new technology and researched diseases to find cures. Their son, 5-year-old Terry, was born with a gift that allowed him to learn quickly than normal. By this time, Warren was working on another invention that was designed to look like simple clothing, but was really an advanced suit of armor that could block anything. Fire, blades, stunners, and even lightsabers. Warren had intended for this to be the a lighter version of the typical Mandalorian armor and the first for a set of armor for the Mandalorian elite and the Guard to the royal family. He had just finished the first set and tested it out with success.

Warren: Excellent! The suit is a success! What do you think, son?

Terry: It was great!

Warren: Glad you liked it. So, you think you can make something good in the future?

Terry: I'm not sure, father, but I think I will.

Warren: Even a child can think of an idea at this point in his life, but sometimes it takes a little more time. Come, let's prepare for dinner.

After putting the suit in a closet in the lab, Warren takes his son up to their home level. As they arrive, Mary has dinner prepped and the family gathers at the table.

Mary: So, how was the test, dear?

Warren: It was a success. This suit will be the first of many to come for Mandalore.

Mary: Good to hear. What about your brother, Derek? He's been quite obsessed with your idea for quite some time now.

Warren: Yes, Derek's been a little jealous about how well I bring our inventions to reality. Not to mention that he's getting greedy.

Terry: Why does Uncle Derek have to be like this?

Warren: I don't know, son. If he continues to be like this, well, I don't know what to do.

Mary: You'll think of something, dear. Things will be alright.

The family eats their dinner and heads off to bed. The next day, Warren, Mary, and Terry go to the lab. As they go to the balcony to enjoy the view, they hear blaster fire and explosions. They look at the nearby capitol city and see strange looking fighters heading their way.

Warren: GET DOWN!

The trio get to cover as the fighters blast at their tower and strike in different places, including the lab. No one is hurt.

Mary: What's going on?

Warren: We're under attack! But how did they get through the defenses without being seen?

Then their attention is drawn to the door to the lab as loud hard banging is heard as intruders attempt to break it down. Warren takes Terry to the closet with the suit.

Terry: Dad?

Warren: Terry, stay in here and don't come out unless I say so. Okay?

Terry: Yes, dad.

Warren closes the door and grabs two blaster rifles and hands one to Mary. Then the door is blown open and armored intruders burst inside. Blasters fire and three intruders fall while the others back off. Warren examines one of them and notices a symbol on the armor.

Warren: Black Sun? What are they doing here?

Mary: And how did they get through our planet's defenses?

Then an explosion above them knocks them down and more Black Sun agents jump down and subdue them. As they are brought to the balcony, the leader of the attack approaches.

Leader: You want to know how we got through? Well, you can thank this guy.

The leader points from behind and out steps from the smoke Derek Black.

Derek: Hey, bro.

Warren: Derek?! Wha- What do you think you're doing?!

Derek: Simple; I want what is mine. Black Sun seems to be able to do just that and so, I gave them a deal. They could take whatever we have stashed while I take your new suit. It wasn't too hard to deactivate the planet's defenses.

Warren: Your greed and selfishness disgusts me, brother. No wonder you were always behind.

Derek steps forward and slaps Warren several times.

Derek: Not anymore. Now tell me, where is the suit?

Warren: It's not yours.

Then Derek grabs a blaster and shoots Mary in the chest.

Warren: MARY!

Terry, who had been watching the whole thing through the slightly open door, was horrified at what he just saw. Then Warren, in all his rage and fury, muscled free and grabbed a blaster from the agent who subdued him and blasted the agent and the other next to him. Then he quickly grabbed a small spear on the floor and thrust the blade across the leader's neck, killing him. Then he engaged Derek in a heated struggle and managed to slash Derek across the face. Despite that, Derek managed to gain the upper hand, take the spear, and thrust it into Warren's chest, piercing a lung. Warren fell to the floor in pain and agony, coughing up blood.

Derek: Fine! I'll find that suit myself!

As Derek raises the spear to finish Warren off, Terry, in a scream of rage and grief, ran out of the closet. As Derek turned around, Terry threw up his hands in a forceful manner and Derek felt some invisible force throw him off the balcony. As Terry ran to the end of the balcony, he looked down and saw Derek land on a Black Sun fighter and it flew off with Mandalorian fighters in hot pursuit. Terry rushed to his father who was barely alive and tried to stop the flow of blood.

Terry: DAD! Please put some pressure on it ok dad?

Warren: Terry, I'm sorry. I can't fight it.

Terry: Please don't talk like that, dad!

Warren: Listen to me! Take care of the suit. It's yours now. When you're ready, it will be yours. Make sure that Derek doesn't get it. I'm sorry I won't be there for you, son. Just don't give into fear and your pain. Will you do that?

Terry: Yes, father. I will.

Warren: You're the best of all of us, Terry. You're on your way. Just keep going.

With tears streaming down his face, Terry could helplessly watch his father succumb to his wounds and died in his arms. Terry closes his eyes and hugs his father's body tightly.

The memory ends.

Back in the present, the sky is starting to get dark. Terry is still looking out into the distance as the group is preparing to assault the Black Sun base. As he remembers what he lost because his uncle, he is filled with determination to bring his uncle to justice.

Ahsoka: Terry.

Terry looks back at Ahsoka.

Ahsoka: You feeling alright?

Terry: I'm fine. Just thinking about how this will end.

Ahsoka: So long as we don't doubt, we will pull through.

Terry and Ahsoka then board a Gunship and soon, the force heads out to assault the Black Sun base.
