Prince William
She looked gorgeous when I saw her convincing me about what I thought about her.
She knew I would rarely take my eyes off her, and I wanted her to know that, to know who she would be with.
However, I still ensured her Father wouldn't see my true intentions with her if I was to win this game.
From the beginning, I knew how her Father was, and to win, you had to play the game his way, meaning act like him.
Which is why when its us two I acted that way but not a lot when my Dad was around.
This is because he wouldn't agree, but I think there is more to King Ricardo than he's letting us see.
Besides, my parents taught me that you sometimes have to be like the enemy to win.
My parents would say it's too dangerous, but I am willing to take that risk. Besides, there is no fun without a bit of danger.
Once we arrived at the dining room, I sat next to her; the reason for this was to observe every moment Ricardo would do.
Last time, I remember Rosalie seeming terrified of her Father, yet this time, everything was very odd.
It was almost as if they were a loving Father and daughter, but I can see right through the lie.
He says he cares and loves his daughter, but then again, she is terrified of him.' Why?' I thought momentarily.
I did notice that King Ricardo loved to push many buttons with my family; I noticed that from the start.
My family was slightly confused and thought nothing about it, but there was something more. He seems a bit too charming with my Mother, which I can see she finds annoying and creepy.
"Wasn't that the name of the former late queen of Whelsire?" Asked Ricardo, sniping me out of my thoughts as I saw Rosalie shake her head.
'Really?' I thought as I took deep breaths and smiled.
I knew what he was doing; he was trying to poke my Dad and GrandDad with the loss of my GrandMum.
Thankfully, my Mom and Liz were around the two, placed their hands on top of theirs, and smiled at them.
"We decided to name her after her GrandMum since she looks a lot like her," said Mom as Dad nodded.
"I'd say she looks a bit like you, my queen," he said as my eyes widened.
'What the hell? How did he know what my Mom looked like at Liz's age?' I thought as I looked over at him, frowning.
"Thank you, but she does have a bit of her Father's as well," said Mom as I watched him.
"What about you, my dear? What do you like to do?" Asked GrandDad as I turned around to see Rosalie smile nervously.
"I mostly read and paint," she said as her Father lifted her hands up proudly, making me frown, confused.
"Oh, come on, Rosalie, tell them how a fantastic seamstress you are," said her Father, smiling as she smiled nervously.
"You sew?" Asked Mom, surprised as she nodded.
"From a young age, I learned to," she said, smiling as I lifted my eyebrow.
Many princesses didn't know how to sew since they thought that was the job of an ordinary seamstress.
'Still, she learned from a young age, just like Liz and Mom; how curious?' I thought as I looked at her.
"Do you play sports? Or do ice dancing?" Asked Elizabeth as she shook her head, smiling, making me frown, confused.
"I do not, princess," she said, slightly smiling, upset, almost as if she was hiding something.
She tried to smile, but I quickly saw it and knew she was lying there, her eyes said it all here.
I turned to look at her Father for a moment and then back at her before I understood; he didn't know she did sports.
"Then I don't see how those two are going to get along. I don't think they have anything in common," said Elizabeth as Mom looked shocked.
"Elizabeth!" Exclaimed Mom as Liz smiled and shrugged while I tried to hold in my chuckle.
"They don't have to like the same things, my dear, just get along," said King Ricardo as Rosalie raised her eyebrow.
'Wise words, old man, wise words indeed,' I thought as I smiled before taking hold of Rosalie's hand and bringing it up.
"This will be a happy union, that I am sure, especially for the good of our kingdoms. Right?" I said, holding her hand as she smiled and nodded.
"Right," she said, smiling before looking back at my parents.
Suddenly, the doors opened to reveal our food; they immediately placed it on our plates, and I saw Rosalie's eyes widen.
She seemed very surprised and even looked confused about what we were about to eat.
I quickly noticed that she looked at me, almost wanting to ask what this was, but she couldn't bring herself to ask.
"For tonight's dinner, we have decided to serve lobster pasta," I said as I saw her eyes widen.
"I hope that is alright. We didn't know if you had any allergies to anything," said Mom, as she smiled and nodded.
"No, it's alright," she said, smiling, as she took her fork and began eating.
I'm not going to lie; it was cute seeing her eat the pasta, enjoying every taste as if it were her last bite.
"What school did you graduate from?" Asked Dad as her eyes widened slightly.
I was finally going to hear the answer without having to ask myself, but then again, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be the answer I was expecting.
"I was homeschooled all my life, Your Majesty, but my courses were the same as Ever Realm Academy," she said as Dad nodded.
"Just like the Queen and my Grandson," said GrandDad as we smiled slightly.
'Well, at least I know that she has training and knows what to do in case of an emergency.' I thought as I smiled.
"Why did you homeschool, darling?" she asked Mom as she slightly turned her eyes towards her Father before looking at Mom.
'Her Father.' I thought as he smiled, slightly upset, before turning to face my Mother and then at Rosalie.
"That was my fault, my dear queen; you see after I lost my dear wife, I couldn't let anything happen to my daughter," he said slightly, padding her head as she smiled.
'Oh, brother.' I thought as I mentally rolled my eyes since I couldn't do it in front of everyone here.
You could see the lies here; Rosalie's expression exposed him so quickly.
I can't believe he expects us to believe this; he's a good actor but not a terrific one to pass by me, and sure as hell, not my parents.
"I guess you could say I became very protective of my dear Rosalie," he said, smiling.
"So, you didn't have any friends growing up?" Asked Edward as Rosalie shook her head.
"You can be my friend; after all, you're about to become my sister-in-law soon," said Elizabeth as Rosalie smiled.
"Thank you, princess," she said as Liz shook her head.
"Elizabeth," she said, smiling as Rosalie smiled and nodded.
"Elizabeth," said Rosalie smiling and we continued eating.
Something tells me these two will get along with no problems. Maybe Liz can help her come out of her shell.
Once dessert came, the same thing happened when she was eating the molten chocolate lava cake.
I don't know why, but Rosalie seems to eat as if they were her last meals or if she hasn't eaten anything this good in days.
"Your Majesty, it seems there is a visitor," said Isaac as Dad turned to him confused.
"Thank you, Isaac. Do you know how it is?" Asked Dad while King Ricardo stood up.
"I think that may be for me if you and your son would follow me, please," said King Ricardo as I frowned, confused.
As I stood up, I quickly noticed that Rosalie's eyes widened in fear. She looked at her Father, who gave her a stern look and made her stay in her seat.
That is the fear I was waiting to see, and from what I just saw, it confirmed everything; all of this was a lie, a play, mockery even.
'What are you playing at Ricardo?' I thought as we headed outside of the dining room.
Once we stepped outside the door, King Ricardo looked at me and Dad before smiling, slightly upset.
"Your Majesties, I have a favor to ask," he said. I frowned at Dad, confused, and he returned the same look to me.
"What is it, King Ricardo?" Asked my Father as Ricardo smiled at us.
"I have lots of important meetings I have been canceling or moving due to the distance they are being held," he said as we listened.
"I was wondering if you'd allow Rosalie to stay here while I go to the meetings," he asked, and Dad and I looked surprised at each other.
"I don't have a problem, but I think that decision goes to William," Said Dad, smiling at me.
"You want us to babysit my fiancé?" I asked as he nodded.
"As I said, she's my prized possession, and I wouldn't want her to get into unwanted trouble, if you know what I mean," he said, smiling as I thought.
"It will only be till I get back and..." He said as I cut him off.
"Here's the deal: We'll look after her, but she's not returning at all," I said as his eyes widened.
"But William..." he started, but I shook my head and cut him off.
"King Ricardo, I am sure you have people who can care for her at your palace, so why leave her in our care?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"This way, it gives you two time to get to know each other," he said, smiling as I raised my eyebrow.
"This is an arranged marriage deal; why should I get to know her?" I said as he looked a bit shocked.
"She will be the future queen of Whelsire William," said Dad as King Ricardo nodded.
"Yes, yes," he said, trying to convince me as I tried not to show my joy in beating him.
"I guess she should get to know her new home, but as I said, if she stays, she stays for good," I said as he thought for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright, we have a deal," he said, extending his arm as I took it and we shook on it.
"For the moment, we will say you're out of town and leave her in our care until you return," said Dad as King Ricardo nodded.
"Perfect, I will talk to Rosalie this moment," he said as we nodded and headed back inside.
Once we walked inside, all eyes turned to us, and King Ricardo walked up to Rosalie.
"Rosalie, please come with me. There's something I need to discuss with you," he said as she nodded and stood up.
"What is going on?" Asked GrandDad as soon as Rosalie and King Ricardo were out of sight.
"There has been a change in plans," said Dad as Mom looked concerned.
"What type of change?" Asked Mom, looking at me as I looked at Dad.
"You tell them, Dad, I will be right back," I said as he nodded, and I walked out of the dining room.
I don't know why, but something was telling me to go outside and find Rosalie and not leave her alone with her Father.
I stepped a foot outside but didn't see them anywhere; I was about to make a turn when I heard a voice coming from the opposite side I was to turn.
"I-I can't stay here," said a familiar voice as I began to follow it.
Once I could see them from far away, I quickly noticed that Rosalie had her hand on her cheek and looked afraid.
'Did he just? No, this bastard didn't just strike his own daughter,' I thought as I felt my blood begin to boil.
"What did you not understand about listening and doing exactly as I say, Rosalie?" He said as I saw her close her eyes.
"Listen to me you little brat, I am not going to have you rebel on me, you are to do what I say and I will hear none of this! Am I clear?" He said as she nodded.
"Am I clear?" He asked, gripping her tighter as I began to walk quickly towards them.
"Yes!" She said, looking away from him.
"If you want to leave here, I suggest you let go of my fiancée," I said, crossing my arms as Rosalie looked at me with her eyes widened.
"Making threats are we? Now that is not any way to treat a family member like that," said King Ricardo smirking as he left go of one of her arms.
"Let her go, or I will have you thrown in the sellers," I said sternly raising my eyebrow as her eyes widened.
"Careful now, boy, you wouldn't want this to be called off and have a war upon you for treating me," said King Ricardo as I chuckled.
"King or not, you gave her to me a few minutes ago, and she is not your concern anymore," I said as her eyes widened.
'Shit, I didn't want her to hear it that way, but I have no choice; I can't let her Father see the importance she means to me.
"My fiancée is the future queen, and if you put your hands on her again, I don't care that you're her Father. I will lock you up," I said, raising my eyebrow.
She stood in between her Father and me; if I am being honest, that is a good thing, or I would have killed him by now for hurting her.
It was then her Father let go of his grip as I took hold of her other free arm and pulled her behind me.
"She's your problem now," said King Ricardo, smirking as I returned the smirk.
"Oh, don't worry. She won't be a problem; I'll make sure of that," I said, knowing well that I was probably scaring her.
"I think it's time for my farewell," said King Ricardo as I nodded.
"Come," I said as King Ricardo and Rosalie followed me.
Once we entered the dining room, we noticed everyone standing up and heading towards the door.
"Everything seems to be in order here, so I am off," said King Ricardo as Dad and I nodded.
"It was wonderful having you here," said GrandDad, and King Ricardo smiled.
"I hope to see you both soon," said Mom as King Ricardo shook his head.
"I will come as soon as I can, Your Majesty, but Rosalie will stay here," he said as everyone's eyes widened.
"What?!" Exclaimed everyone.
'I guess Dad didn't tell them anything.' I thought as they looked surprised.
"I have many business meetings to attend, and I don't feel comfortable leaving my daughter alone. So, I asked the king if she could stay here while I am away," said King Ricardo as they nodded.
"I had her stuff brought over, and I just talked with her about it, and it seems we all have agreed," said King Ricardo as Mom nodded.
"We'll await your return then," said Dad as King Ricardo nodded.
"Please let us escort you," said GrandDad as King Ricardo shook his head.
"No need to, Garrick, I know the way," he said as Dad shook his head.
"I insist," said Dad as King Ricardo smiled and nodded.
"Alright then," he said before walking up to Rosalie and embracing her.
"I will see you as soon as I can, my Rosalie," he said, smiling as he pulled away and she nodded.
"Good night to you all," he said as everyone repeated before Dad and I, along with GrandDad, escorted him out.
Once we reached outside the door, we saw the carriage was ready for him, and he turned around, smiling at me.
"Thank you, gentlemen; I hope to see you soon for the wedding," he said as I nodded.
"I will make the announcement in two weeks, and then I think we should schedule the wedding soon," said Dad as I nodded.
"Keep me updated on the details," he said as my Dad nodded.
"Of course," said Dad as King Ricardo looked at me and smiled before hopping inside his carriage.
As soon as he closed the door, the carriage took off. I watched him disappear and felt a calmness come over me.
"Want to tell me what the hell was that?" Asked Dad confused as my GrandDad raised his eyebrow.
"Let's just say I don't believe a word he said today," I said as Dad shook his head.
"I don't either, son, but we have to keep him close and not have him suspect," he said as I nodded.
"I know, Dad, but trust me," I said as he sighed.
"I do trust you, but I know you well, William, and that worries me," said Dad as I smirked at him.
"You just don't want Mom to be mad at you again," I said, walking as GrandDad chuckled, and they followed.
"He's got you there, Hugo," said GrandDad, chuckling as Dad rolled his eyes.
"I am playing his game as you taught me, Dad. Just trust what I am doing. We need him closer, not farther," I said as Dad sighed.
"He's got a point, Hugo," said GrandDad as he nodded.
"Even if it means I act like a jerk a couple of times in front of him," I said as Dad nodded.
"I know we don't trust Ricardo, but can we trust Rosalie?" Asked Dad as GrandDad shrugged.
"She seems innocent, but you never know," said GrandDad as I nodded.
"I am going to find that out, but If she's not, I don't think it will be a problem to get her on our side," I said, slightly upset.
"Why do you say that?" Asked GrandDad as I sighed.
"I believe her Father has been physically abusing her," I said as their eyes widened.
"What?!" They both exclaimed as their eyes widened.
"What makes you say that?" Asked Dad, concerned.
"Are you sure, William?" Asked GrandDad as I shrugged.
"I am not 100% positive, but I have a good reason to believe he is," I said sadly as their eyes widened.
"When I walked outside to find them, he was holding a tight grip on her that would leave a bruise, and she had a hand to her cheek," I said as their eyes widened.
"He slapped her," said Dad as I nodded.
"Why else would she have her hand on her cheek and look terrified," I said as they nodded.
"Yet we still aren't sure yet," said GrandDad as I nodded.
"That is why I am going to find out. Hopefully, I will have a sure answer tomorrow on that," I said as they nodded, and we walked back.
Once we reached the staircase, I noticed my Mom was the only one still there, probably waiting for us.
"Well, that would have been a nice heads-up," she said, raising her eyebrow at my Dad as he chuckled nervously, and she shook her head.
"Anyways, she is installed in one of the guest rooms; Izzie showed her to her room," said Mom as we nodded.
"Edward and Elizabeth?" Asked Dad as he hugged Mom from the side.
"They are tucked in for the night, and I think we should all, too," said Mom as Dad nodded.
"I agree, this has been an interesting day," said GrandDad as we nodded.
"Especially since tomorrow there is news to investigate," said Dad as GrandDad and I nodded, and Mom frowned, confused.
"Goodnight," I said as I looked at my parents, smiling.
"Goodnight darling, sleep tight," said Mom as she hugged me before I walked up the stairs.
Once I reached the top of the stairs and went to my room, I noticed Izzie walking towards me.
"William, the princess is all settled in her room," she said, smiling. I smiled at her and nodded.
"Thank you, Izzie," I said as she smiled.
"She's in the first room of the hallways where your Mom's old guest room used to be," she said as I nodded.
"Thank you, Izzie," I said, smiling and walking away as I approached her.
'So it seems she is very close to Liz; I hope she won't drive her crazy.' I thought, chuckling.
I love Liz, but sometimes, if you are not at her current level, she can wear you out. Many say she's wild, while I say that's my sister.
As I turned the corner, I quickly stopped outside her door and raised my hand to knock, but it took me a while to actually knock.
Once I knocked at her door, it felt like I had been waiting forever. I knocked again, wondering if she had heard the first time.
When I didn't hear anything a second time, I was about to knock again when I heard her voice.
"Come in," she said so low that it could barely be heard, but it was loud enough for me to hear.
Once I heard her say that, I quickly pushed the door from the side and saw a familiar of dark blue, almost purple eyes.
I saw her sitting on her window seat and began to walk towards her. Before I knew it, I was standing in front of her.
"May I sit?" I asked her as she nodded, and I took a seat.
"Rosalie, I am going to ask you a question, and I want you to answer me with the truth," I said as her eyes widened in fear.
If I'm being honest, I didn't want to ask her. If it was hard for me to ask, I imagine how hard it might be for her to respond.
"Has your Father ever hurt you?" I asked her as she looked away from me.
"Rosalie?" I asked her as she looked out the window before shaking her head sideways.
I couldn't help but smile and almost chuckle at the thought of this. My little Dove was clearly lying to me.
"Are you sure?" I asked her as she continued to look away from me as she nodded.
'Alright, have it your way, little Dove, but I don't believe you.' I thought as I stood up and pulled her by her arm, causing her to yelp.
I placed her in front of me as she stood; her eyes widened, and she was almost terrified.
I grabbed my handkerchief, and with my right hand, I dragged it from under her eyes down her cheek and forehead as she closed her eyes.
Even with her eyes closed for a second, I could see the bruises near her eyes and cheek.
But what got me even more upset was the cut on her forehead; it seemed like it was healing nicely with the stitches.
I then looked down at her hands and lifted the sleeves of her dress to see her arms covered with bruises, many old and new.
'The bastard of her Father was totally abusing her; here was the proof.' I thought as I sighed and let go of her.
"Try to get some sleep, Rosalie," I said as she avoided my eyesight, and I walked out of her room.
Once I was out, I went to my room and decided to pass by Liz's room, hoping she was still awake.
I knocked and stood outside her room until her voice told me to enter. After opening the door, I noticed she wasn't alone; Edward was there with her.
"Well, if it isn't my other brother, we were just talking about your fiancé," she said, smiling as I frowned.
"What about her?" I asked, raising my eyebrow as Edward smiled.
"Nothing terrible, brother," said Edward as Liz shook her head, smiling.
"We actually like her; she seems nice. Quiet but nice," said Liz as I thought momentarily.
"So, you like her?" I asked as she nodded, smiling.
"Of course, especially since she will be my new sister," she said joyfully as Edward chuckled.
"I am glad to hear that from you because I actually have a favor to ask of you, Liz," I said as she looked at me, confused.
"I need you to befriend her and get her to trust us," I said as Edward looked confused.
"Why?" Asked Edwards as I looked at them before saying my head.
"All I can say is that she's been through a lot, and she needs someone she can trust," I said as they looked at each other and then at me.
"Okay," said Liz, smiling as I nodded, knowing that she would help me.
"Thanks, Liz," I said as she smiled and nodded.
"I will let you rest then," I said as Edwards got the hint and got up with me.
"Me too; I will see you later, Liz," said Edward as she smiled.
"Goodnight, Edward, Willy," she said, hugging us as we hugged her.
"Goodnight, Liz," we both said as we walked out of her room and silently headed to our own.
Once we reached my room, I was so upset that I took off my coat and threw it on my bed as Edward came in and closed the door.
"Okay, what did you find out?" He asked, crowding his eyes and raising his eyebrows.
"The bastard of her Father has been abusing her," I said as his eyes widened.
"What? Are you sure?" He asked, slightly confused as I nodded.
"Her face and arms are covered in bruises," I said as Edward was speechless.
"But how did we not?" He started but then stopped mid-sentence as his eyes widened.
"Makeup?" He said as I nodded and he shook his head.
"The good thing is that she's not going back with that bastard," I said as Edward looked confused.
"I thought she was going to stay here for a bit?" He asked as I shook my head.
"Her Father left her here already. He's not taking her back. Even if he wanted to, I wouldn't let her go back to him—not after what I've seen," I said as he nodded.
"Does Mom and Dad know?" He asked as I shook my head.
"Mom doesn't know anything, but Dad thinks so because of what I said," I said as he nodded.
"What did you tell him?" He asked as I sighed.
"When they were talking alone for a moment, he was yelling and gripping at her arm tightly as she had her hand to her cheek," I said as he nodded.
"The bruises confirm it was a tight grip and her face?" He asked as I nodded.
"The same," I said as he shook his head.
"He's been slapping her," he said as I nodded.
"Dad will know about this tomorrow, but..." I started and stopped.
"Why didn't you tell Liz?" He asked as I shook my head.
"She will know eventually, but not by me," I said as he nodded.
"What did she say?" He asked as I shook my head at remembering the lie she said.
"Nothing, she even denied that her Father abused her," I said, frustrated, sitting down as Edward placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Maybe she's in shock, William; this is abuse, and if she's been alone all her life, how is she supposed to know or react to all of this?" He said as I thought.
"I get that you're upset, and you should be. This isn't how we were taught to treat a lady," he said as I listened.
"Just give her time, and give yourself time to relax. Sleep it off, and tomorrow is a new day," he said, and I couldn't help but smile.
"You're right," I said low as Edward looked surprised.
"What was that?" he asked, bringing his hand to his ear, clearly making it seem like he didn't hear me.
"I said you're right," I said as he smiled.
"My, was that so hard to finally say?" He asked as I nudged his shoulder.
"Don't push it, Edward," I said, smiling as he smirked.
"Try to sleep, brother, and not think about it; I will see you tomorrow," he said as I nodded.
"Thanks, baby-bro. Sleep tight," I said as he smiled and nodded before walking out of my room.
Once he was out of the room, I got up, walked over to my balcony doors, and looked out the window doors.
'What's really going on, little Dove? Who are you really, and can I trust you? Or will you be the reason for my destruction?' I thought as I looked at the clear night sky.
King Ricardo
As my carriage took off, I couldn't help but feel the biggest sense of joy. Today, my plan was officially going to be worth it.
I did have a bit of trouble with Rosalie, but I know her well. My dear Rosalie will do what I tell her to do in no time.
This dinner arrangement couldn't have come at a better time. I have a feeling that the prince might have an interest in Rosalie more than he might like to admit.
I mean, why would he threaten me like that for a no one like her? Then again, he was raised differently by his parents.
It could simply be that she wants her to be respected since my daughter is to be queen. The thought of that brought me joy because it meant I was one step closer to my revenge.
If Rosalie were the prince's weakness, I could easily use her to reach him and the king and queen.
But if she's not, I hope that with time, she will be, and I mean since she will be spending time with them.
It's a bit confusing because he's not very direct about his feelings; it's almost as if he's afraid to show them.
Then again, real men don't show their emotions; weakness makes them vulnerable and easily a target.
For the moment, he has shown me he is a hard man to know and puts that charade on for everyone.
I am not going to lie. He kind of reminds me of myself. When I show something, I am not to hide my true intentions.
For one thing, that is bad because I don't know his true intentions, but for another thing, he has earned my respect.
However, this wouldn't have ended well if he were like me. I need him to fall for Rosalie or at least show me his weakness.
But I would prefer it be Rosalie to control this boy even more; I hope Rosalie does what I told her.
I am a bit worried that her wounds won't heal quickly since I used the last of her these couple of weeks.
'Since I knew she was to be gone soon, I couldn't let go without giving her a proper goodbye.' I thought, smirking as the carriage came to a complete stop.
The door opened to reveal my Stewart as I stood outside and began to walk inside joyfully.
"Bring a bottle of champagne to my room to celebrate," I said, sniping my finders. My steward nodded and left quickly.
While walking to my room, I passed what used to be Rosalie's room and decided to walk in.
As I walked inside, I noticed Celeste cleaning up the last things in the room, making it seem like a regular guest room.
"Make sure you throw away the remains she left here," I said as Celeste nodded.
"Of course, Your Majesty," she said as she bowed and left.
"Finally," I said, smiling as I walked out of the room and headed to my own.
Once I entered my room happily, I was about to take a seat when I noticed I wasn't alone.
"So, it's true, you have finally sold your daughter?" Asked a familiar voice as I smiled.
"What did you think, Ben? That I was going to give her to your son?" I asked, smirking as he looked upset.
"You knew very well my son loves your daughter and wanted to marry her," he said as I chuckled.
"As I said before, my daughter is fit to be queen, not rule along a duke," I said as he looked upset.
"How do you know King Hugo won't pass his throne to one of his other children?" He asked as I chuckled.
"You're so stupid, Ben; you and your son are no one, whereas I am royalty," I said as he looked at me, upset.
"This friendship is over, Ricardo," he said as I smiled.
"No, it's not," I said as I snapped my fingers and my guards appeared as Ben looked shocked.
"You see, you know me very well, and I can't have you spilling my secrets, so I think it's time I make you disappear," I said as his eyes widened.
"My family will come looking for me," he said as I smiled.
"I don't think so, take him away," I said as the guards took him away.
"You will regret this, Ricardo! You'll see!" He yelled as my steward brought me my champagne.
I couldn't help but think that he was right about one thing: His family would come looking for him.
'I needed to think of something, but what?' I thought momentarily as I smiled.
'That's it!' I thought as I smiled.
'Why get my hands dirty when someone else can do it for me?' I thought as I smiled.
I will simply place this blame on Whelsire, and since many kingdoms don't trust each other, this will be immediate war.
Killing my enemies and leaving me to take advantage of Whelsire completely. I just need to make sure they get married before that happens.
Just then, my steward handed me my glass of Champaign, and I nodded him to leave as soon as I took the glass.
Also, I need to make sure I have enough guards and gather more. It's funny how I said I'd be out of town with no intentions until now.
"Prepare my luggage for tomorrow. I will be out of town for a while," I said as my steward nodded.
"Yes, Your Majesty,'" he said as he bowed and left.
I need to make sure I have enough men for this battle. If not, I will fall, and I will not allow that to happen.
"You won one time, but you will not win this time, King Hugo. The game is on, and I will win this war. I am sure of that," I said as I continued to drink my glass in my chair.
