The following is a summary of ideas continuing from the fanfic universe that I had created with some level of hindsight and self awareness. Also considering how silly Seed Freedom is, I want to see if I can top it.

TWO YEARS LATER

While relative peace in the sol system was reestablished at the end of the 2nd Valentine war, holdouts from LOGOS/Blue Cosmos remnants continued to attack pro-peace countries throughout Earth. They have a mobile HQ in space that has since evaded detection from the major powers and because of the vast resources and Earth Alliance connections, LOGOS has the military industrial complex to sustain itself for many years.

The Kingdom of Foundation is now simply called The Foundation, a small independent country on Earth. Its background is entirely mysterious but it has kept its autonomy for decades somehow through backroom deals and its own advanced technology. It's as if it has somehow established a hermit kingdom amongst a sea of countries that had been swallowed up into the Earth Alliance.

COMPASS, a multinational Peacekeeping organization, created with the sole purpose to intervene in conflicts without individual nations being accused of military action through the red tape. Its goal is to only fight when needed when conflicts spill into crimes against humanity. They are not meant for prolonged campaigns.

Its current objective is to mop up LOGOS/Blue Cosmos remnants throughout the Sol system.

Compass's motto is "To always point in the right direction"

In low Earth orbit, Millennium, Compass's flagship, prepares to deploy its forces to intervene in a conflict started with LOGOS remnants. This is one of the largest campaigns of destruction from the Remnants. The Yamato team was deployed to resolve the issue Earthside

Elsewhere deep in the asteroid belt, the recently christened Minerva II class, the Anla'shok, sailed towards the LOGOS/Blue Cosmos Remnant's mobile base, a massive repurposed colony ship.

In the darkness of space, silence is all you get. A small glimpse of objects flying towards the colony ship. They were stealth missiles, launched cold to not give off a heat signature and coated to reflect the colors of space. As they approached their target, it was then their engines fired up and began their pre-programmed course to the LOGOS colony ship's engines. Massive explosions crippled it.

"Sensors show multiple impacts, colonel"

Vorian Fanel stood on the flight deck of the ship in his Mobile Suit, 1/144 Qubeley "LMES4 Corneille" Custom Build )

"Bridge, give me comms. Let's say hello."

"You're on, sir"

"This is Colonel Vorian Fanel of COMPASS. In accordance with international law, you are all under arrest. Charges are illegal military activities, desertion, sedition, piracy, and war crimes against civilians. You are ordered to stand down weapons and surrender. Failure to comply will result in lethal action. Your main engines have been disabled, there is no where to go."

"No response, colonel."

"Yeah, I didn't think so. They tried gas at 30 Banchi. Pretty sure, they don't want to talk."

"Sir, detecting multiple launches. Their escort ships are moving into attack formation."

"Action stations. Launch all fighters. Signal the fleet to drop cloak"

"Aye aye, sir. Action stations. Set condition 1 throughout the fleet."

"Fleet is ordered to drop cloak"

At the signal, several dozen warships that were invisible before, suddenly became very visible and had surrounded the LOGOS forces.

"Enemy has opened fire. Multiple missile launches"

"Ready main cannon. Set charge to full strength."

The Anla'Shok's main weapon deployed. Like its predecessor's Tannhäuser, this was a large position cannon that came out of the ship's bow. Its charge and beam are infamous.

"Target enemy capital ship." Vaan's orders were clear. No quarter. Vor took a breath before giving the order, "And fire."

The original Minerva's cannon was never this strong. If one could hear in space, you'd think the sounds of an ungodly scream had cut across space as it impacted the colony ship, slicing right through it.

"Direct hit, Colonel. Enemy ship is suffering secondary explosions. Reactors going critical."

"Rey, let's go. You got clean up duty."

"Roger that, boss"

Rey Za Burrel. Formally ZAFT FAITH. Now serving in COMPASS. He had requested deployment away from Earth and the nearby colonies. Having done his share in the last war, he felt he needed to reach out further into space, only to see remnants of the last conflict still going on.

"This is Skull 0-2, Kshatriya taking off."

_37k6nQ5hdU?si=6sZ9G-Zm970WPLzQ

Focusing, Rey launched all his funnels and began wiping the floor with the Remnant mobile suits that were coming at him. Any he couldn't get the first time, he used his gatling guns.

"I'm heading out as well. This is Skull leader, taking off"

Vor's Qubeley took off, launching his own funnels to support Rey.

After the battle, Vorian reviewed the casualties. They suffered none. It was the Remnants that were dogged in their fight. They took very few prisoners. Almost none of them wanted to surrender.

"It's madness…" Vorian looked to Rey, "Sir."

"You mean why they kept on coming. Hopelessly outmatched. Surrounded and even offered surrender."

"I suppose it would have mattered if they had surrendered and saved the ammo. These charges are pretty hard. Anyone in a command position would have been sentenced to death either way. The lowly soldier zealot all came charging at us"

Carry On

Kira continues to work on the Proud Defender pack for his Freedom V2 when suddenly he hears a familiar voice coming from above him, relatively speaking since in zero G there is no up or down.

"Kira! What are you still doing here? Go home." Vor floated towards him

Helnlien took exception to Vorian being so casual with a superior officer.

"That's Commodore…colonel, sir." He paused a bit seeing how intimidating a Fanel is when Vor gave him a look.

"It's alright, Lieutenant. That'll be all." Kira salutes the man, who floated away

"Sir,"

Vorian stops floating and steadies himself next to Kira.

"That's right, we're practically cousins."

"Cousin…is that right?"

"Yes, and I'd rather not have another family member killing himself over work. Unlike a certain Emperor, you don't have an empire to run on top a throne"

Vor was referring to Vaan, his half brother. Ever since it was leaked that he was related to the Emperor of Mars, everyone felt like stepping on eggshells around him. It further isolated the young man from his peers.

"Go home to that lovely wife of yours. I bet she's cooking you a feast right now, hero." Vor playfully nudges Kira with his elbow.

"We haven't actually…"

It wasn't official yet. They were engaged in secret when Lacus became the interim Chairwoman of PLANT after the war and then she stepped down to become the President of COMPASS. Announcing that the president of the most powerful peacekeeping organization and the highest ranking officer in said organization are married would show even more signs of nepotism on top of the emperor of Mars is his brother and on the Compass council.

"Don't make me pull rank on you, buddy." Vorian pushed Kira a bit

"Don't I outrank you?"

Vor made a hand wave gesture in front of Kira, the kind that implies an odor problem.

"Yes, as in smell. You need a shower before seeing your lady tonight.."

Shoving Kira away and letting the zero g carry him off, Vor grabbed the data pad.

"Go home. I'll help with the Proud Defender. We Fanels have been designing Mobile Suits for hundreds of years. Remember, you have others to rely on. Start acting like a commander and not a manager."

Kira paused for a moment. Vor was right. He's letting all this get to him. The constant fights. For him, the war never ended. But he was not shouldering the fate of humanity. It was never his duty for that. He didn't stand alone facing Durandal and even before that.

Smiling a bit, Kira nodded to Vor.

"I'll leave this to you, then…Colonel Fanel" He saluted

"Yes, sir" Vor smiled back with a salute.

Because Kira was able to leave at a more reasonable time, he made it home to Lacus waiting for him with dinner. After all the stress of work, she almost wanted to tease him by offering dinner, bath or her.

It was a nice quiet dinner with an unhealthy amount of fried foods.

After dinner,

Kira fell asleep on the couch trying to read reports. Even at home, he was working. It was not good for one's health.

Lacus walked over to him with a blanket, sitting down next to him. He was deep asleep. She stroked his hair a bit and thought for a moment. Then, an ancient but appropriate song came to her.

She had stopped singing for the crowds years ago. In fact, her short career as a songstress was such a big part of her life. It wasn't until she became the voice of a resistance and the voice of the people that she realized her words carried more weight than in song.

She once sang during the "colony drop" incident to calm the orphans and occasionally to herself when visiting the Orb memorial

And now she sings for her beloved,

Once I rose above the noise and confusion

Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion

I was soaring ever higher

But I flew too high

Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man

Though my mind could think, I still was a mad man

I hear the voices when I'm dreaming

I can hear them say

Carry on, my wayward son

There'll be peace when you are done

Lay your weary head to rest

Don't you cry no more

As Lacus sings the song, she starts to turn off lights and prepare for the night. She noticed Kira's work desk with photos of them, of the Archangel crew, and family pictures.

Aside from the continued small bush fires, this was a good life they had. But the fact that both of them chose a life of peacekeepers means the fight may never end. Lacus knows Kira so well and he wants to help humanity to a better future.

Just then, she stopped singing when she heard a voice calling to her. Turning to look around, it wasn't a voice in the room but in her mind.

"Who?"

It was an unknown voice but at the same time sounded like she had known it for a long time.

Far away from their home at the local spaceport, a mysterious figure stares in the general direction before entering his shuttle to leave. He smiled devilishly at the connection he made. Things are going according to plan.

The Swordbearer

Watching the Black Knights spar was quite a sight. They were using live blades against each other. Some would say such practice was reckless. One false move and there's great injury and even death but apparently these knights didn't care about the safeties. A seasoned sword fighter would also note that using live blades in sparring would increase the amount of wear on the swords, chips and cracks would make the blades useless eventually. Apparently The Foundation was rich enough to afford these things. Or they are just frivolous in spendings. Either way, they noticed the guests were watching.

Shura, the commander of the guards, approached them.

"Care for a match, Commodore?" Shura asked, raising his blade to Kira, almost threatening him.

Kira, trying to be polite, declined.

"My apologies. I'm not one for swords"

It does make sense. Kira is a mobile suit pilot. It's not like the use of giant melee weapons that's semi automated in giant mechs would actually translate to combat with an actual person on the ground.

"What a shame. Seems your reputation is only as good in a cockpit your girlfriend gives out."

"Shura! Don't be rude to our guest" Ingrid spoke up, trying to maintain the diplomacy.

"I'll have a go" Shinn stepped up.

Kira wanted to stop him, but Mu held him back.

"Let him go. A challenge's been made, Kira. There's honor at stake here."

Kira could care less about ancient honor, but seeing Shinn step up instead of simply picking a fight shows how much he's grown.

"Alright…boy. Have at thee" Shura steps back and readies himself, "I'm the Commander of the royal guards, Shura Serpentine"

Shinn stepped in front of Shura and reached to his side, where he was carrying the sword of Fanel. As the swordbearer, he was duty bound to bring this with him at all times and he kept his word even during situations that were awkward. Try explaining to your boss that you're attending briefings with a sword around or at the gym. He even said to Luna one time, "the sword stays on" which got him a slap.

"Lieutenant Shinn Asuka. Yamato Squadron" He drew the katana like sword and gave a dueling salute.

Shinn struck first. He was not going to hold back simply because they were using live blades. It would dishonor the challenge.

After a few clashes and swipes, it was clear Shura found this more entertaining than he initially thought. It didn't actually occur to him to question why Shinn was the only one of the party to be carrying a sword and a very special looking one at that.

"That's quite an interesting blade you have there, boy. I've never seen anything like it." Shura tried to start a conversation like this were the movies but Shinn didn't take the bait. He fought with the same determination as if to kill and this surprised Shura.

He underestimated Shinn because of his age. When he looked at Kira, who was older and Shinn's superior, he didn't see the eyes of a killer but with Shinn it was different.

He had "killer eyes".

It was primal and dangerous.

Shinn took a high guard, with both hands on the hilt and the sword raised over and the blade pointed behind him, a style similar to European longswords. He's facing someone who is fast on his feet using a saber one handed.

Just then, Shinn cuts down and then across, forcing Shura to retreat but he only used it to jump high over Shinn to his back. Not fast enough, Shinn tried to strike behind him, only to lose his sword when Shura disarmed him, sending his sword flying.

There was a gasp from the COMPASS party as the fight was over…but the outcome was unexpected.

Indeed Shura now has his blade clearly at Shinn's right side against his neck. One quick motion would be all it took to cut.

At the same time, Shinn might have been disarmed but he was not unarmed. Right at Shura's throat was the sheath that would hold the sword of Fanel. Shinn had grasped it at the last second and thrusted it upward under Shura's over extended arm. If Shinn hadn't stopped right at the throat, surely there would have been serious injury if not killed by a full force thrust.

Shinn remembered something Vaan had said to him once before "The blade isn't the only part of the sword"

"Well well…I guess the Freedom Killer has some spunk" He lowered his sword, he gestured to his fellow knight to give back Shinn's sword. It was caught when knocked in their direction.

Shinn took the sword of Fanel back and sheathed it. Whatever material the blade was made from, there wasn't even a scratch mark from sparring, let alone chips despite the fact that this very sword had a long and bloody history of removing heads.

Shura almost couldn't contain himself when he finally noticed the emblem on the sword itself. The mythical blade that only the Kings of Fanel are allowed to hold…in the hands of this…peasant. That was the thought going through Shura's mind

"Only the strong can truly change the world. Don't you agree…Commodore Yamato?"

"I don't believe strength alone can make meaningful changes"

"The weak can do nothing but be food for the strong. That is the way of the world"

Agnes almost jumped down Shinn's throat for his "lackluster performance" in her eyes.

"You almost lost! You going to put on a better effort next time?"

"Hey, I did my best. He could of killed me"

"But did you die?"

Shura looked past Shinn and at Agnes

"They call you the Moonlight Valkyrie." He smiles at her "The strong is also the most beautiful"

Apparently, that comment alone was enough to make Agnes swoon a bit. The party continued on. Luna had to tug Agnes away because it looked like she was in a trance.

Spycraft

Rey and Arthrun had infiltrated the capital city of Foundation, having witnessed the quiet oppression of opposition in the city, the pair made their way to the Foundation's labs to discover what they were hiding from the world.

After breaking into the Foundation labs and escaping, they made contact with their handler, Vaan himself, who was overseeing this operation from orbit on his flagship, cloaked.

Pouring over his data, Vaan has files of Aura and Orphee Lam as well as anything on the Foundation. One of the files he was looking through was a photo of his father, Leon Fanel with someone who appears to be Aura. The strange thing was she looked exactly the same as this woman but that doesn't make sense given it was over 20 years ago.

Treachery

The operation had begun, COMPASS forces supported by location Foundation troops headed towards the Eurasian border where Colonel Micheal was reported to have been sighted.

COMPASS forces included Kira in the lead with his squadron, Shinn, and Agnes following closely in formation. The triple squad with Hilda in the lead also followed close by to support. Lunamaria was left back at the Millennium as backup.

"This is Yamato. Have made contact with the enemy. Engaging. Shinn. Agnes. On me,"

The Remnant forces opened fire on them. Fortunately being skilled experienced pilots, none of the shots were effective.

Kira's team was joined by the Black Knights that flanked them from both sides.

Geass

With the combined physic powers of the Black Knights, they were able to poison Kira's mind into thinking he was attacking the leader of the Blue Cosmos/LOGOs remnants but he was actually attacking the Eurasian Federation forces. This confused everyone along with the Black Knights infiltrating behind the EF lines with a nuke to be used in a false flag attack on the Foundation capital.

The Blue Cosmos leader was actually here working with Eurasian agents but having been discovered by the Black Knights, whom they promptly kill to set up their false flag attack. With the excuse that the world is against they, they can begin asserting themselves with their own Destiny Plan.

When the illusion broke, Kira was now facing all the Black knights that overwhelmed him and Shinn. His existence was a threat to them having come from similar genetic experimentations and it is revealed they have the blood of House Fanel in them.

A surprise turn, Agnes switched sides and attacked Kira in the back, crippling his Gundam. She was in the same trance-like state as before, having become completely controlled by Shura.

Thankfully at the last minute, Athrun and Rey appeared to save their friends. Athrun in a red Z'Gok and Rey in an orange colored Saviour.

The pair fought off the Black Knights into retreat. Shinn gets picked up by Hilda after her teammates were killed defending the Archangel.

All friendly forces were evacuated before the nuke detonated at the capital and consumed the nearby area they battle took place in.

Foundation's betrayal has dealt a heavy blow against COMPASS. They lost the Archangel and several gundams along with some good pilots from Hilda's team. Those that remained retreated to the Millennium and went back to Orb to regroup.

The Foundation

Aura stood tall amongst her people. The chosen few by their creator.

"Your great father laid down this FOUNDATION to bring in the next step in human evolution. You are the future of the human race. We must not disappoint him for he is watching and his avatar is here with us to bear witness."

The figure next to her stood calm and cold. His eyes piercing and his face was one anyone will recognize…Leon Fanel, the once great hero but also the arbiter of destruction from 2 wars ago. He looked exactly like in the archives, roughly 20 years of age. Clearly if he was alive, he'd be pushing 50 but just like Aura, who looked very young, early 20s herself, none of this made sense.

Somehow…Leonadas Fanel…has returned

With this declaration, Foundation stated the Destiny Plan is to be implemented under the threat of force, a rebuilt Requiem cannon on the moon that was never entirely dismantled because of rebel elements in ZAFT still loyal to Durandal and his plan. A coup was being attempted at PLANT.

To demonstrate their resolve to wipe out all opposition, they fired on Orb. Thankfully Vaan was already there and prepared. He had created a giant energy shield over the entire country, but even that won't last multiple attacks, so a counterattack was being prepared.

Turns out during the Great Eve war of 195, Aura was some named Laura Zabi, last of a line that disappeared in this timeline. Her family was once allied with the Fanels that worked tirelessly to produce the next evolution of mankind, superhumans that not only can survive in space but ascend to immortality. They called themselves the "New Type" of mankind

Apparently it worked since "Aura" has the appearance of a young woman despite her age. She was once in love with Leon Fanel during the war but he chose Relena Peacecraft and her jealousy was near madness so much so she decided to resurrect the man she loved and implant herself with his children. All the Black Knights are their "children".

Group meeting

Vaan contemplated all the information he's gathered. Everyone else gathered around the pool table.

"So…Orphee Lam Tao is my brother." Vaan said very plainly as if not even surprised at this development.

"Technically your half brother since his DNA matches your father and Aura." Rey made a correction, not that it makes it better. "We suspect so are the rest of the Black Knights"

"And this clone of my dad? How true to life is he…considering the other clones we have in the room…"

Vaan glanced at Mu and Rey. Mu gave a vulgar gesture to Vaan as he smiled.

Athrun spoke up to break the awkwardness.

"If these brain wave patterns Rey got for us are correct, mentally and physically, he IS Leonidas Fanel, be it at a specific point of his life, before he died. It's actually quite fascinating to not only clone a person but bring their minds back up from the point of death. Some might call Aura a genius"

"I am trying to not imagine the things she's done to my dad's resurrected clone corpse to sire this…thing"

"Well, it seems like this clone is relatively young. Orphee most likely was made from combining DNA from your father and Aura brought him to term…then she resurrected your father for whatever reason."

I can think of a reason, but it's already been brought up.

"Orphee also has similar telepathic powers as your father but on a much smaller scale. In fact all these "children" of aura seemed to share the same powers. It is what they did to force Kira into that friendly fire situation against the Eurasian forces."

"Right, so I shouldn't be the one fighting him." Vaan got up from his chair in the most casual way possible.

Everyone in the room turned to him, confused.

"Why not? You're the only one who can resist the telepathic attacks" Murrue pointed out

"I'll leave Orphee to you, Kira. He's got beef with you and he's got your girl. Athrun, you and Shinn will take on the Black Knights, Cagalli has a plan for you. Murrue, take your new ship against the Foundation's main fleet. My forces will be here soon to back you up."

Kira nodded. This battle was already decided. After his little scuffle with Athrun, he had nothing else to say.

"And what will you be doing, your highness?" Mu asked sarcastically.

"I'm going to take down this…imposter walking around with my dad's face and Aura. Need to call in an old friend for help and..."

Vann took a breath and turned to Shinn.

"Shinn…I'm gonna need my sword back."

Shinn perked up a bit, as if waiting his entire life.

"Yes."

The Custodes of Humanity's future

The Peacekeeper War

The allied fleets began the fight.

ZAFT regulars engaged rebel forces around the moon that were supported by Foundation knights. The Millennium and COMPASS forces engaged Foundation's main fleet along with the Mars fleet.

Vaan left a separate force to engage where Aura was actually located, at an abandoned space colony. Once his forces start the battle, he can see his true target. The clone of his father. Unfortunately for him, Aura also joined the fight. He can tell she needed to be within close range to maintain whatever hold she had over the clone. This was going to be a hard fight.

Old Friend

The clone of Leon Fanel revel in his power as he and Aura's Gundams almost overwhelmed Vaan alone

That is until a familiar blast from the past returned. Heero Yuy in a remade Gundam Wing Zero, joined the fight.

Not only does this new model retain the double buster rifles but the Wings were also funnels with their own buster cannons.

Caught off guard, this allowed Vaan to gain a second wind and engage his father's clone alone while Heero took on Aura, who could only curse at Heero, calling him a relic from a bygone era and even calling Relena a whore for having both his children and Leon's while her love for Leon is more pure. This didn't phase Heero, who was in his element. He was born to fight and was unstoppable.

No matter how much she screamed and commanded, none of her forces were strong enough to take on Heero Yuy who charged his buster rifles and sent a blast that killed her. The Millennium and other friendly forces mopped up

Clone Wars

Vaan lands his gundam or rather, he crashes it. The colony was in bad shape, but still managed to keep on spinning, the gravity at near Earth. The hole he and the other guy made was being auto repaired to prevent all the air from being blown out.

The Escaflowne wasn't going anywhere as Vaan opened the cockpit and stepped out.

"Vaan, do you copy? Everyone's occupied right now. We lost your transponder, turn your backup on so we can get you!"

Vaan removed the ear piece so he couldn't be distracted.

In front of him was the Anubis Omega, a redesign of what his father initially fought the Eve war in, the Excalibur.

Seeing the clone crawl out and onto the street made him chuckle. It was going to take more than a hard landing to kill either one of them.

He walked over to him, putting his sword over the back of his neck and resting his hands on it

"You sure know how to throw a party, old man…no food…no drinks…and the only babe is my step mother." Vaan spoke as he walked towards the clone of his father.

"I didn't think you'd grow up into such a cheeky bastard"

"The bastard is Orphee out there. Little brother is handling him with his wifey. They're a real power couple"

"He was a mistake…you're all mistakes…"

"Maybe...Maybe…but we all have to live with disappointment. Mine is stumbling in front of me."

Vaan swung his sword from behind his neck and grasped it. He drew the blade out. He placed the sheath into his belt to retain it.

The clone of Leon Fanel got up, using his sword as cane to steady himself.

"...yeah," He flicked the sword out of its sheath and drew it, throwing away his sheath in anger. His sword was an exact copy of the one Vaan was carrying. Like him, a clone.

…..

The fight was over. The clone has lost. He was bleeding from multiple large slash wounds, farther too many for his healing to keep up. Vaan was in no better shape but managed to stay on his feet.

"No…this isn't right. I was brought back for a reason." He grasps the broken blade of his copied Fanel sword. An imitation just like he was. "Give it back…It's mine…I am the lord of House Fanel from now and forever."

Vaan sighed a bit. He didn't think the mental state of the clone was this fragile. Of course Aura only brought him back as a toy rather than a person. He may even have memories and thought patterns of his father but he can never be him, not truly. Otherwise, he would never have been under the control of Aura. She purposefully made his mind subservient to her. It was the only way to control him. Now that the facade of being in control had been broken with Aura's death, he was left with nothing but lies.

Just then, Vaan looked at his sword, the sword passed down from his father and before that for generations.

Vaan then tossed it towards the clone as if to pity him. It clanked and scraped against the street and stopped just short of the clone's reach.

As if reaching for a life preserver in an ocean, the clone picked up the sword, feeling it. Something real in his hands, not a copy. He stared at the gem but something felt off to him. It was supposed to have a nice shine to it. It is said that when a true born Fanel holds the sword, it almost glows in the hand like some magic to tell he was worthy, but here, it was just a sword and nothing else. Disappointed, he got to his feet, still staring at the sword as if his hatred could "activate" it.

The clone finally looked back at Vaan but it was too late for him to react. Vaan was done playing around.

A crack from the gunshot echoed throughout the empty space colony. Vaan had pulled out his sidearm and shot the clone of his dad right in the chest.

He didn't believe it, the clone thought. Wasn't there honor in a fight? Were they not still in a duel?! Had he no manners?!

Wrong…it's only a duel if they were equals and not once did Vaan saw this fake imitation of his father as even a human but more as a novelty.

One shot wasn't enough as his body was regenerating, but Vaan knew that already and kept on firing before the clone could react

2.

5.

10.

16 shots

Vaan's gun locked empty. He dropped the empty magazine and reloaded, continuing to fire 15 more times..

After another round of shooting, the clone was peppered with bullets and in a vain attempt to retaliate, he threw the sword haphazardly at Vaan, hoping in anger to hurt the young emperor but the sword missed and landed onto the street far behind him.

The clone's advance stopped when Vaan started to aim for his head, his face marred with bullet holes with the final shot right at the forehead.

The clone's body fell limp with the head shot and dropped to its knees and fell to his back onto the broken streets they were fighting in.

The ground around the body began to fill with the blood leaking out from every hole Vaan had created with his gun.

Vaan stands over the body, watching him bleed what life he had left.

He looked at his pistol finally and realized he shot all the bullets from his reload. Ejecting the magazine again, he reached for another but found none.

The empty magazine dropped to the ground, the sound of it felt louder than it should be as it echoed all around.

His shoulder slumped a bit, suddenly the empty handgun felt heavy as he dropped it as well, giving off a loud crack as it hit the floor.

Taking a deep breath, he walked over and picked up his sword, then took a seat on the ground, staring at the dead body of the clone. He sets his watch to finally turn his beacon on so everyone could stop worrying if he was dead.

After what felt like an eternity, Vaan heard the familiar thumps of mobile suits approaching his position. The ground shook all around him.

"There you are, your grace…cousin…" Vorian called out to Vaan over the comms.

Vaan reached into his pocket and put the earpiece back on.

"Report, Vorian."

"We won. All Foundation forces are routed. The ZAFT rebels have surrendered."

"And Orphee?...Aura?"

"...He's dead. Kira killed him… Aura, too. Heero took her out. All the other black knights are dead."

"...good, clean this up, Vor. I want nothing left."

"Understood. Get clear, boss"

"No, I'll witness it from right here."

"But…Vaan, you're danger close."

"That is an order….I want to see it."

Danger close meant calling down a strike from range as close as 600 meters. From where Vaan was sitting, he was only at most 100 meters. The clone had thrown his sword pretty far away but since Vaan refused to move, he can only count on Vorian's VERY precise aim.

"Yes, your highness" Vor adjusted a funnel.

Close wasn't even going to describe how it was. Vaan could see individual particles come down from above over the dead body of his father's clone. The green beam was bright, almost too bright to see but Vaan stared at the body as it was vaporized under the heat and then there was nothing but a large hole. Nothing remained of that spot.

"All done…was that really necessary?"

Vaan finally got up, dusted himself off and put his sword away.

"Legend has it that my father, being the product of the greatest bioengineering in human history, return to life when he cut his own heart out and transplanted it to my mother when she was mortally injured and grew a new one instantly…I didn't want to take any chances with this one, cheap copy or not"

"You….know you could have just chopped his head off in case…Can't grow that back"

"I could have…but I was just too curious to see if he could come back…turns out I was worried for nothing"

Getting into Vorian's mobile suit, he was taken back to the Millenium, where everyone was celebrating their victory by the time he reached the ship, all his wounds had healed. The benefits of being the son of a genetically engineered superhuman…whose clone he just vaporized.

Vaan wanted to ask where Kira and Lacus were but figured they had their own private celebration to attend. They deserved it.

This little conflict was at an end. The century began with 2 more great wars. It would be good to close it out with relative peace again.

With the Remnants of the more militant Blus Cosmos/LOGOS removed, Earth has seen a decline in major brush fire wars.

With the Foundation in ruins, its ruling elites all eliminated, their technology and resources were suddenly scooped up by the Mars Republic in the chaos. Records of Orphee's genetic origins and the clone of Leon Fanel were quickly destroyed. The threats to Vaan powerbase were handled. He returned to Mars a hero again. The Warrior Emperor, they will call him.
