I really do hate cutting in at the beginning, but bear with me for a moment. This is not Chapter 7, but 6.5. This is an extension of Chapter 6, and I highly recommend you reread chapter 6, since it's been…2 months.
That is all, for now. Enjoy.
'Calm…' I could feel my heart's individual beats in my hands, as they sounded out like drums in my ears. 'Calm down, damn it.'
"Hey…" In my face once more, the emerald eyed demon whispered haunting words in my ear. "There's no need to be afraid…I would never hurt you, Hikigaya-kun~."
Flinching back a few steps, I stop myself from any more backtracking and glare defiantly at the devil in disguise. "Why would I ever…" I noticed the serious expression on her face hadn't disappeared. "Tsk. Why should I believe you?"
"Yes, yes…I'm well aware of your distrust, but I'm the one who understands what's happening here." She waves it off. "AND, you could at least listen, then come to your own conclusions. Ah, but where to begin? Oh, right."
The Genuine Route
School Roof
"This is better, no one can interrupt us up here…Maybe." The green eyed girl says, staring out the chain linked fence. Looking back at the nasty eyed loner, his patience was obviously thinning by the second. "I guess I should start with this. My name is Monika, Monika Hayashi…No, Hayashi Monika? …Just call me Monika, kay?"
"..." Obviously, Hachiman was uninterested in who she was, but he had obviously heard the name mentioned by Sayori.
"The quiet stoic mysterious guy won't work on me, Hachiman~."
"Don't call me that." He glares, as his patience disappears.
"Whatever you say, Hikigaya-kun…" Clearing her throat, Monika maintains eye contact with the otherworlder. "I should probably start with why you're looping."
"Despite what it may seem, this world still operates on the same rules as a dating sim…loosely, at least. The main protagonist, which is you in this case, must reach an ending. Though, the rules are a bit more harsh here. Absolutely, none of the girls must reach a bad ending, because if they do…Well, it's back to the start of monday. Do you understand everything so far?"
"Hold it, you know about the game?"
"Of course. I mean it's…Wait, just how far did you get into the game?" Now it was Monika's turn to ask a question she didn't know the answer to.
"Around…fifteen seconds? Why does it matter?"
"You're serious?" With an affirmative nod from the one opposite of her, Monika doesn't know how to respond. "…Wow…Pfft! Hehehe~ Of course you did, you don't really seem like the target demographic, or..."
"You suck at answering questions."
"Patience, Hikigaya-kun. I'm getting to it. To answer your first question, I do know, seeing as it's a very important plot point in the actual game."
"What?"
"It isn't too important this time around, seeing as the original game's plot has derailed."
She was right, Hachiman didn't honestly care if she knew about the game, because only one thing was on his mind. "Why didn't you st-"
"Stop Sayori?" For a moment, Monika's eyes glaze over. "I could if I would…but I can't." She answers, her voice breaking. "Do you think I like seeing my friends go through this? … I hate it." And so, it started raining.
"..." Hachiman kept his mouth shut, or rather, didn't know what to say. He kept his mouth shut even after she recomposed herself.
"Sniffle. Sorry, I guess I wasn't as emotionally stable as I thought I was." Wiping away at the last of her tears, Monika puts the previous serious expression she had back on. "Anyway, I'm guessing you still have more questions?"
"How do I get back home?" He asks, trying his best not to show any sympathy for the girl.
"Straight to the point, huh? You could at least feel a little sorry for me, you big jerk." She pouts, which has no visible effect on the loner. 'Actually, I…have a possible solution, but I don't know if it will work." Truthfully, she didn't know. "At best, it should bring you back home."
"At best? What happens if it isn't at best?"
"Nothing too bad, just three very angry girls and a possible headache."
"What? Wait, you're not explaining anything clearly. What exactly do I have to do here?"
"Reach the true ending. Save them."
"Save them? Why shou-" He couldn't finish his sentence, the ending of his first loop and the moment just now eating away at any possible argument he may have had.
"That wasn't your fault, Hikigaya-kun. You didn't know." She spoke, appealing to his logical side. "...but, now that you do know. Will you let it happen again?"
"Don't. Don't guilt me, I never chose to involve myself in this." Hachiman angrily points out, ignoring the fact she may have just read his mind.
Clenching his fists for a brief moment, he sighs and lets go of most of his negative feelings. "...I don't trust you."
"I see." She responds, unfazed by his admittance of distrust.
"But…If what you said is true…then, you're my best bet at getting home." He glares, clearly not pleased with the outcome.
Unlike the loner, she is clearly satisfied with the result.
With a satisfied smile, Monika reaches her hand out to the loner for a shake. "I look forward to our continued partnership."
Staring at the extended hand with extreme amounts of scrutiny, the dead eyed loner scoffs as he ignores it completely. "Did you even listen to me? I do not trust you for a second."
"You're really harsh, Hik-"
"Hachiman?"
Hikigaya Hachiman
"Monika too? Umm, I'm not in-interrupting anything, right?"
"You're not." I replied immediately, turning back to face Monika. "Hayashi-san just wanted to talk to me."
"Really? Wait, Monika, you know Hachiman?"
"Is it that surprising?" Normally? Yes. "Hikigaya-kun and I were classmates in our first year, and I just wanted to catch up. What I'm surprised about is that you're friends with him." And what the hell does that mean? …Wait, why am I offended?
"Hehe…is it?" Sayori laughs, but without an answer to the question, the silence grows awkward.
The silence doesn't linger for long, as Monika clears her throat. "Well, I should be going now." Walking past Sayori, Monika opens the door to the stairs, but stops and faces me. "It was a pleasure talking to you again, Hikigaya-kun. I'll see you next time."
The metal door slammed shut, leaving me alone with the girl I had failed a loop prior.
"...Hachiman? …Can I ask you something?"
I had just made a deal with the devil, and I would soon pay off a portion of what I owed.
"About?" I ask.
"Well…" Shifting nervously, Sayori doesn't even make eye contact with me. "Are you and Monika…da-"
"No." I don't bother entertaining the thought. "Is that all? Lunch is ending soon."
"Phew…"
'What are you so relieved about?' I don't voice my question, as I start making my way back to class.
"Hold on! Wait for me!" I hear Sayori from behind me, as she catches up. I keep my pace, as I stuff my hands into my pockets, hiding my bleeding palms from view.
To Be Continued…
Canon Omake - Purple and Black, do they mix?
Moving gracefully through the shelves of countless books, a violet haired beauty dressed in the Sobu student uniform allows her eyes to roam throughout the many shelves.
Stopping at the far end of the library, her lips find themselves curving into a frown. Her eyes grew cold, as she clicked her teeth in both disappointment and anger. 'Not here either…'
Hearing a whisper to her right, she notices two onlookers staring at her. Her face lights up in embarrassment, and she makes a hasty retreat to where she left her things.
Arriving at the seat she took, she noticed the increase in other fellow readers. With her search not bearing fruit, and her dislike of crowds, she starts making her way out.
Walking out of the library, the third year student starts making her way back to her apartment.
The Chiba streets were calm, but still busy. The bustling crowd was filled to the brim with students of varying grade levels. She didn't allow it to show on her face, but her previous displeasure soon returned once more.
Waiting at a crosswalk, her negative feelings only seem to deepen as she overhears the group of students next to her converse between each other. The topic at hand was irrelevant and unimportant, but they reminded her of the club she was in, and that didn't seem to do any favors on her current emotional state.
With an annoyed huff, she looks back at the crosswalk light, tapping her foot as she waits for said light to turn green. Soon enough, her impatience is rewarded as the light changes, allowing her to cross.
Taking the first step, she is immediately pulled back by a firm hand on her shoulder. "Oi, watch it."
Before she can get angry or break down at whoever grabbed her, possibly the latter, she feels a wave of air fly past her.
A sports car of some kind speeds past her, and would have likely hit her had she not been stopped by whoever it was who did stop her.
Turning to face her savior, she finds herself meeting the eyes of a…
'His eyes…they're so…'
"You alright?"
"I…" The words were stuck in her throat, so she did what any other person would, and ran away.
Her home wasn't far, and her run back there was without stops. Locking the door behind her, she finally allows herself to make a noise she couldn't in public. "Kyaa!" She squeals, as the side she hid from others finally showed itself. "He was…he was… Perrrfect~!"
"His dead eyes which harbored no emotion, yet his deep soothing voice conveyed worry for my well-being, he is…"
"My dark prince…"
Meanwhile, Back On The Chiba Streets
Hikigaya Hachiman
I can only watch as the girl I instinctively helped ran away from me. 'That bad, huh? Are they really that creepy?' With a big blow to my pride, I sigh and start making my way back home.
I had a childhood friend to feed, after all.
To Be Continued In Part 2?
Now. Allow me to start with this. The Sayori Omake from Chapter 6 is NOT CANON. At first, I was debating whether or not I should make it canon, but I soon decided to make it Non-Canon simply because I wanted to.
Hachiman has suffered enough, right?
…Yeah, no. Expect more suffering in the next chapters to come. When they do come…in the next few centuries.
Yes, I know, 2 months for this?! I have a valid excuse, okay? I'm a busy man who provides for a family of 50, alright?
Joking aside, I am very busy with college, okay? And work too. Fuck. As I write this, I'm getting ready for class, yippee.
Also, the Omake occurred a day or two before he met Monika.
I'm short on time, so…Review Time!
MeetraSurik8 says: You released this chapter as I was reading another fic so you caught me early. Poor 8man getting put through the wringer with more to come too. I like how, after learning of Sayori's fate, he is almost more clingy of her, it's kind of cute. When it comes to the little omakes, what do you mean they are canon-ish, do you mean only some parts of them are canon or only some of the little omakes are canon. If it's the latter, you should make a distinction between canon and non-canon omakes. Also, that's one way of getting 8man to leave. Overall, a good chapter, can't wait to see what's next.
To that I say: To Be Hachiman, is to suffer. I mean, can you blame him? A bleeding heart and sis-con like him would definitely act like this. Yes, very cute.
As for the Omakes, sorry. I uhh, forgot to clarify on that. So let me say it now. Monika Omake from Ch 6 is Canon. Sayori Omake from Chapter 6 is not.
I hope you enjoy this chapter. Goodbye.
Eisenhower Haloway says: Yep, definitely going to each route and getting Subaru'd, although he's having amnesia... I wonder how long does it take for him to go clinically crazy.
"Crazy? i was crazy once, they locked me in a dating sim, filled with bad ends, and bad end made me crazy—Crazy? I was crazy onceprobably Hachiman
To that I say: You have bear fists? Iykyk.
That aside, Hachiman's suffering is inevitable. This is DDLC, after all.
Crazy stuff will happen in the future, too.
Crazy?
Bluecookie420 says: I like seeing Hachiman come up, but he needs to suffer for it first -so- I want to see Hachiman suffer.
I get excited for each update, but they come so so sporadically. :(:(:(:):):(:(. Really want to see more Hachiman and Doki interactions. Til next time.
To that I say: …The more Reviews I read, the more I realize how many sadists there are among you… Among? Amogus.
Brain rot aside, I'm working on it! I know how much I suck at being consistent. And, uh…I'll try to do better.
See ya!
G0dz1llex says: Glad to see a new update of this fic. I was busy reading 117 chapter from one where hachiman is an schizoaffective loser, great choice to kill time until next chapter.
Anyway, good chapter. Hungry airhead girls are saiko!
To that I say: …I can't say I'm familiar with this fic you speak of.
Saiko, indeed. Also, have a good day, Bully-san.
Other than that, I'm done for now. Will try hard on chapter 7. Good bye!
