Chapter 15
Hell hath no fury like a Hero Scorned
"In a SHOCKING turn of events!" Heimdall yelled as the entire audience behind him shuddered fearfully at Jason's new monstrous appearance, "Jason the God Butcher has revealed the TRUE extent of his Divine Weapon and has taken on a NEW NIGHTMARISH look! I mean just take a GANDER at those giant wings! And how about that wicked stinger! Is the guy EVEN human anymore?"
While the Watchman of the Apocalypse made his commentary, Zetes and Calais observed the monstrous amalgamation that they once knew as their captain, with horrified and worried looks plastered on both their faces from their seats in the god's side of the audience.
"Holy Hera, what has BECOME of our friend?" Zetes whimpered, "Is that thing in the battlefield REALLY Jason at all?"
"D-don't worry Zetes, I'm sure that underneath all those... New features he has, buried somewhere deep within, is the Jason we ALL once knew and loved!" Calais said in a hopeful tone
On the flip side, the Goddess Athena shook her head sadly as she wore a solemn expression, "No, I'm sorry you two, as much as I hate to admit it myself. The thing that now represents humanity down there in the battlefield is no LONGER the man you both once knew, and there is no use in pretending this fact isn't true. He has lost himself to his hatred, allowing it to consume the entirety of his being, his body, his mind... and worse of all, his SOUL."
The two Boreads shuddered at the Goddess of Wisdom's words, though they knew that what she had said was most likely true, a small part of them still held onto hope as they turned back to watch the battle, that their former friend wasn't truly gone.
In the battlefield, Jason or as he now called himself, the God Butcher. gave an animalistic snarl, as he paced from side to side. Eyes on his opponent in front of him as his large paws hung loosely in front of him as he leaned forward while he walked, his hooves crunched heavily against the ice, making Hel wince slightly each time the uncomfortable sound was produced.
The Queen of Helheim held her weapon in front of her in a defensive position, her eyes never leaving her opponent as she waited for the God Butcher to make the first move. The eyes of Fenris attached to her left arm did the same thing, its gaze focused intently on the monster in front of it as it growled defensively with its ears flattened against its head.
Suddenly, right after he took another step, the God Butcher with lightning fast speed, twisted his body to face his opponent, before pushing himself forward with his hooves, propelling himself forward as he charged straight towards Hel with his claws outstretched, ready to tear her into shreds.
Reacting quickly, Hel swung her halberd to counter the attack, and there was a loud,
"CLANG!" as her blade met the sharp claws of the God Butcher.
However, unlike previous clashes, the two adversaries were not stuck in a standstill as their weapons were locked in combat. Instead, the God Butcher swung his claws upwards towards the Queen of Helheim, backhanding her roughly across the chest, sending Hel reeling backwards even with her increased strength and endurance.
Falling on to her side, Hel struggled to her feet as she tried to catch her breath after getting the wind knocked out of her. However, her opponent would not give her the luxury of time, as the God Butcher began to launch another offensive against her.
From behind his back, the God Butcher's deadly scorpion tail began to extend in length similar to how Hel's own tail arm had done so previously. The venomous appendage curled around his right side, moving threateningly like a snake that was about to strike, before it shot straight towards the Queen of Helheim at blinding speed, its barbed stinger aimed directly at Hel's face. Witnessing this, the eyes of the spectators widened in anticipation as they sat on the edge of their seats, preparing to see whether or not Jason's new form and lethal attack had been the deciding factor of the second round.
Thankfully for Hel, her heightened senses were what saved her once again from certain doom. Pushing past the pain of the God Butcher's previous attack, the Queen of Helheim raised her left hand along with faithful Fenris who seemed to know exactly what its mistress was planning as it was hoisted through the air. For it opened its jaws wide, revealing its sharp white canines ready to bite down on whatever was foolish enough to find itself within its jaws. And just before the deadly stinger could reach her, Hel closed her eyes and swung the open mouth of Fenris right towards the God Butcher's tail as if to grab it in mid-air, and a loud resounding, "CRUNCH!" was heard as the audience gasped before becoming silent.
Her eyes still closed, Hel's mind panicked for a moment at the sudden quietness of the crowd. For it could mean only two things, one that Jason's attack had struck true and she was pierced by his venomous stinger. Or two, her defensive measures had successfully protected her from harm as she had hoped.
Slowly opening her eyes, Hel breathed a quick sigh of relief, as she realized the latter was the reason for the spectators' silence. In front of the Queen of Helheim, just a few dangerous inches from her face, was the God Butcher's stinger. And clamped tightly onto the tail that it was attached to, was Fenris. whose strong and mighty bite had successfully managed to pierce through the hard and sturdy exoskeleton covering the God Butcher's tail. Holding it firmly in place and preventing it from harming her.
The God Butcher growled in annoyance, seeing that his plan had been foiled and tried to retract his tail back towards him, only to find that Fenris kept a firm grip on his tail and prevented him from pulling it back.
"Filthy mutt." He snarled in frustration, as he used his paws to grab on to his own tail, and with a mighty tug, forcibly freed his own tail from Fenris' jaws. Causing some of the wolf's canines to be painfully ripped out of its jaws, and remaining lodged in the exoskeleton of the God Butcher's tail.
Fenris howled in agony at having its teeth yanked out of its mouth, blood leaked out from its maw like a river as it whimpered in pain. Hel, being literally attached to Fenris, let out a sharp cry as she felt its pain as her own and so began to stroke her left arm with her right, in both an attempt to comfort Fenris and soothe her own pain as well. Before deciding that the best course of action would be to revert back to her original self to spare her companion the agony.
Transforming back into her base form revealed that the left side of Hel had taken quite the serious beating. A few small holes riddled in her arm, no doubt from the few arrows of light Jason had fired that had managed to make it past the hard scales of Hel's Midgard Serpent form. And as for her left hand, the tip of her rotted fingers were ironically coated in fresh blood, as the fangs that Fenris had lost had caused some of Hel's own gnarled fingernails to be ripped out of their sockets and were the source of the bleeding.
Hel grunted as she resolved to rip out a piece of her war skirt to wipe away the blood from her hands, before wrapping it tightly across her fingers to stem the bleeding. Her opponent meanwhile, also took the time to check on his own wounds as well, the God Butcher brought his tail to his face as he inspected the segment of it that had been bitten by Fenris and was now covered in blue blood leaking from the injuries. While the bite had indeed managed to damage the exoskeleton of his tail, the sturdy hide had managed to withstand the attack and prevented any deep wounds, though there still was the issue of removing the teeth that were still embedded in his tail.
With just one hand, the God Butcher simply grabbed onto each tooth and began removing them with ease, as though he were using a tweezer to pluck out hair. His face betrayed no sign of pain or discomfort as he extracted the last tooth from his tail and tossed it aside before simply turning back to his opponent.
After witnessing and experiencing her opponents vastly increased strength and proficiency in close ranged combat first-hand, Hel knew that engaging in hand to hand combat like before would be disadvantageous, even with the support of her transformation's enhancements. And with that thought on her mind, the Queen of Helheim decided to transform back into her Midgard Serpent form, reasoning that the increased protection it gave her with its tough scales, and increased ranged attacks with her tail-arm would make it more effective against Jason's new form.
"W-whoa, what's going on? One moment Hel's got Jason on the ropes with her transformations, and then the next thing we know, he pulls out some CRAZY new monster form of his own and turns the tables on her? What even IS that thing down there?" Pandora exclaimed as she turned to Prometheus and Hera for an answer.
"I hypothesize that his Divine Weapon draws strength from his hatred of the gods," Prometheus theorised, "and the humiliation and anger he felt from getting beaten up by Hel was the straw that broke the camel's back. Kicking his Weapon's power into overdrive, and transforming Jason into the form we now see in front of us."
Hera on the other hand, who had all the while been vying loudly for her chosen fighter to regain the upper hand once more in the fight. Now oddly watched the fight in silence, her face pale and her eyes opened wide as she bore witness to the thing that she had once called her champion. Her unusual quietness did not go unnoticed by Prometheus, who glanced in her direction with a quizzical look on his face.
"Well, I wouldn't say that I'm too pleased with what Jason has done to himself in order to win. But this new form of his might JUST be what we need to win this round!" Göll said in a hopeful tone.
"Although me and my siblings often preach that even the most vile of sinners are able to reform themselves and change their ways. THAT man down there fighting as humanity's representative and his tactics are unbefitting of redemption, much less the role granted to him."
All heads turned to the doorway of the room to see who the owner of this new voice was, revealing a handsome young man dressed in a simple red and white tunic, he had long wavy black hair that reached his shoulders, and a scabbard hanging on the left side of his belt. And tucked behind his back were two beautiful wings, very reminiscent of the wings that the God Butcher himself had on his back, with white feathers that were coloured gold at tips. His voice was melodious and even had a sort of angelic echo to it.
Göll gasped upon laying her eyes on the man, "YOU!" She yelled before rushing straight towards the man who raised his arms in response as though he were about to attack.
Worried for her friend's safety, Pandora yelled frantically after the Valkyrie," Göll! Come back! It isn't safe! You don't know what this guy may do to you!" However all of her worries were put to rest when she saw Göll tackle the winged man in a sibling-like hug to which he happily returned.
"Brother Raphael!" Göll squealed joyfully, "It's so nice to see you again after SO long! How have you been?" The Valkyrie gushed as she pulled out of the embrace.
"I've been doing well Göll, it's nice to see you too after so long as well!" the man who was revealed to be none other than the Archangel Raphael himself replied with a laugh before his voice took on a more sad tone, "While it saddens me that you sister Brunhilde has left us, I'm very sure she would be VERY proud of you seeing how well you are doing following in her footsteps!"
Göll blushed at the Archangel's compliment, "T-thanks Brother Raphael" She smiled," But I couldn't do it alone of course! These are my friends who have been helping me ALL the way throughout!" She said, directing Raphael's attention to the other three individuals in the room.
Pandora returned a nervous grin as she waved at the Archangel despite the warm and wide grin he flashed at her, her nervousness wasn't completely unfounded however. As she remembered quite clearly that Raphael was one of the 13 gods chosen by Ra to participate in the second Ragnarok on the side of the gods, so what was he doing here with them?
Prometheus meanwhile was more welcoming as he and the Archangels were on rather good terms with one another, spreading his arms open as he walked towards Raphael with a wide grin on his face as well.
"Raphael, my friend! A pleasure seeing you after so long! It's been quite a while since I visited the Temple of the Holy Light, how have things been with you and your siblings?" The Titan said while pulling Raphael into a friendly hug.
"We've been doing quite well, Prometheus." The Archangel grinned, "Can't say that I'm too pleased that you haven't been visiting us at the temple as regularly as you used to, once you find the time you should definitely drop by! Michael and the others all miss you dearly!"
"Hahahaha! Of course, of course!" Prometheus answered," Pray tell, why have you chosen to grace us with your presence today?"
Before Raphael could open his mouth to reply though. Hera, who wore a cold and disdainful look, rudely interrupted their conversation, "Why do you THINK he's here Prometheus? He is one of Ra's representatives. There's NO doubt the only reason he is here is to obtain information from us to report back to his master, I say we should kick him out of the room right now before he gets that chance." She snarled in a tone even more unfriendly than the one she had used on Prometheus before.
Göll stood defensively in front of the Archangel with an angry look on her face, "THAT'S NOT TRUE! Brother Raphael and the rest of the Archangels LOVE humanity! They are protectors of mankind! There's NO way he would act against them!"
Hera cackled meanly, "Is that so? Then pray TELL, why is he on Ra's final roster? If he and the rest of those uppity Archangels were REALLY supporters of humanity, you would think that they would have rejected that tyrant's request as SOON as he asked. But no, He's on it PLAIN AS CAN BE! Some 'protector of mankind' he is!"
Raphael's eyes narrowed as he took a step forward to the Queen of Olympus, "Ah, Lady Hera, as charming as ever I see. I assure you, your highness, that I'm in NO way here to perform espionage. My position on the god's roster has in no way swayed me from my position as humanity's protector, for I will always be on the side of mankind."
Hera snorted at the Archangel's reply, "A very heartwarming and rousing speech, Raphael, yet it does not change the fact that you are on the god's roster, fighting for humanity's destruction. Quite hypocritical wouldn't you agree?" The Queen of Olympus sneered.
"I am not proud of that fact, yes, "Raphael said, his face darkening," But that decision was not truly my choice, Lord Ra... He can be very... Persuasive when it comes to having things his way. Lets just say that not ALL the gods on his roster had volunteered themselves to be part of it." As he finished his sentence the Archangel glanced upwards to the god's VIP section where Ra, who had noticed the Archangel with the saviors of humanity, was leering down at them with a cold smirk.
"SEE Lady Hera!" Göll said fiercely, "The Archangels LOVE humanity! Raphael wouldn't DREAM of harming any humans let alone face one in a death match unless he was forced to!"
Raphael smiled gently at the Valkyries' belief in him, "Thank you for those kind words Göll. However, I must say, there are some humans who have managed to earn my personal ire. And THAT thing down there that was once known as Jason is one of those individuals. So to see him as one of humanity's representatives deafening them from the wrath of the gods, is rather... Conflicting for me."
Göll's smile falters a little," it's because he killed your brothers isn't it?" She said softly while placing a shoulder gently on the Archangel's shoulder.
Raphael sighed and nodded slowly," Yes indeed, that man rather than submit to the judgment of his crimes, chose to murder my brothers. Then the Chief Gods chose to erase their names in an attempt to cover their own incompetence. And NOW, that monster has the GALL to use their wings to aid him in his battle? Forgive me Göll but it is in my opinion that he has no RIGHT to be anywhere but his cell in Tartarus." The Archangel finished with a glare at Hera, much to the anger of the Queen of Olympus, who looked about ready to fire back a few insults of her own.
" Wow, Lord Raphael and Lady Hera don't get along that well huh? Is there some kind of bad blood between them, Prometheus?" Pandora softly whispered to the Titan of Fire by the side.
Prometheus chuckled softly in return, "Let's just say that the Archangels and the rest of the pantheons don't exactly get along with one another. The Archangels have always seen themselves as superior to the rest of the gods due to their stronger connection with humanity, while the other gods despise them for their defiance. Hence, more often than not you will see both sides butting heads with one another."
"Oh, I see" Pandora gulped nervously as she eyed her grandmother and the Archangel as though they were ticking time bombs in the same room waiting to see who would explode first.
"WELL THEN!" Prometheus said in a cheery tone, quickly intervening," Let's put all past animosity we might have between ourselves behind us shall we! After all, we all have the common goal of seeing humanity successfully win this Ragnarok as well in the end!"
…
Hel grunted with effort as she used her tail-arm to continuously strike at the God Butcher and force her opponent to keep his distance, her plan was somewhat working with the God Butcher jumping back and forth to avoid her attacks. However, the Queen of Helheim's numerous injuries meant that she was not as fast as she previously was, and her opponent was able to outspeed her every move.
Every time her tail-arm shot forward in an attempt to capture the God Butcher in her coils, her opponent would simply jump out of harm's way in a single leap, slowly chipping away at Hel's energy and defense.
Frustrated and flustered, Hel's attacks became more aggressive and rash, lacking discipline and control as well as sacrificing her defense as she took a few steps closer till she was directly below one of the few ice spikes that were still standing in the arena so that her attacks may land.
Witnessing his opponent's position, the God Butcher saw an opportunity. And with one huge vault, he leapt high up into the air and soared straight over the Queen of Helheim, much to both her and the crowd's amazement. Before landing on the side of the ice spike with a heavy, "THUD!". The hard rims and concave underneath of his new goat hooves allowed him to stay rooted on the near vertical side of the ice spike directly above Hel without falling down.
With a roar, the God Butcher jumped from whence he stood, dropping straight down right in front of Hel. Before lifting one massive clawed paw and bringing it straight down. A nasty, "SCHLUK!" sound was heard throughout the arena as a bloody gash appeared on Hel's chainmail, the impact of the attack also sending her tumbling across the arena floor, forcing her to revert into her base form.
Sensing that victory was imminent, the God Butcher let out a sadistic laugh as he slowly took one step after another towards his fallen prey, savoring every delicious moment before he took the life of his final godly victim.
Hel however, was not going down so easily. Although her chainmail was now ripped to shreds and the front of her chest feeling like it was on fire while colored red by the blood leaking from the wounds, the Queen of Helheim struggled to her feet, gasping for breath as she tried her best to ignore the searing pain from her injuries.
The God Butcher cackled as his opponent's stubbornness to give up, "I have to hand it to you Queen of Helheim," He said in his distorted voice, "Most of my victims either just gave up or begged me for mercy like PUSSIES before I slaughtered them. You, on the other hand, choose to be a glutton for punishment, getting back up on your feet JUST to be pummeled to the ground once more till you're dead and gone. Just like those preachy stiffs whose wings I ripped off before I got locked up."
He lifted her head to give a steely glare at her opponent, "While I thank you for the compliment, this fight will NOT end now, nor shall it end with me lying on the floor awaiting your final blow!"
The God Butcher growled, "This is getting annoying, you can't POSSIBLY hope to beat me while your all fucked up, just give in and I'll make your death quick and painless." His words were met with a glare from the Queen of Helheim who spat at him," I would rather DIE gruesomely, than EVER bow my head to one so corrupted like YOU!"
The God Butcher shrugged, "Slow and painful death it is, either way works for me." With that he spread his wings once more and flew up into the air, once he was about a good 50 feet above the ground, the God Butcher extended his two palms up over his head and into the skies above. Suddenly, the black smoke that had previously covered Jason's body prior to his transformation to the God Butcher reappeared around his hands and slowly began to channel itself up into a giant sphere in the air above his head.
"W-WHATS THIS?" Heimdall gulped as he slowly began backing away from the arena and eventually found himself fleeing into the stand once more for his own safety," Jason appears to be summoning a GIGANTIC ball of smoke above his head! Just what KIND of attack is he planning to use it for?"
Right after Heimdall had made his commentary, there was a loud gasp from a human in the audience," WAIT! HOLY SHIT! LOOK AT THAT!" He yelled, directing everyone's attention to Jason's wings. All six of them now had eerie eyes all over them, all looking down towards the injured Hel as they began to glow with a white light.
Meanwhile, the ball of black smoke above the God Butcher's head was now at its maximum size, towering over the cowering audience who looked up to it in fear and awe, with a diameter as long as a semi truck. Cackling loudly, the God Butcher bent his arms backwards as he prepared to throw with the sphere following suit," So long Queen of Helheim! Best hope that your subjects loved you enough to mourn for you as your soul dissolves into the void that is Niflheim!" He gloated as he threw his smoky projectile down towards the Queen of Helheim. As he did so, the glowing eyes on his wings shone the brightest they had ever been, before beams of white light burst forth from each eye and rained down upon the entire battlefield like an airstrike, ensuring that there was nowhere Hel could run without getting struck by either the ball or beams.
"WRATH OF THE FALLEN HERO: THE INESCAPABLE GOD KILLER!"
Some spectators screamed or cried as the entire arena shook from the massive shockwaves produced from the attack, while others shielded their eyes from the blinding light generated from it. Only a loud, "KABOOM!" was heard echoing throughout the entire arena before there was complete silence.
As the dust cleared, the audience members all rose from their seats, trying to see if the Queen of Helheim had finally been finished off by the God Butcher's devastating attack.
From his position above the arena, the God Butcher closed his eyes and chuckled, "Heh, not gonna lie that bitch was pretty good, put up ONE HELL of a fight! But all good things must come to an end, she's now just a BLOODY smear on the floor!"
As he said this, there was a collective gasp from the audience members as the dust finally cleared, "Ah! They must have found the body already." The God Butcher thought to himself as he tilted his head down to inspect his handiwork.
However, his self satisfaction soon turned to disbelief when he opened his eyes to have a good look, for below him was not the mangled burnt up body of the Queen of Helheim, but instead a humongous glacier of ice!
"WHAT THE FUCK!" The God Butcher screamed angrily, as he descended back down to earth and made his way towards the glacier, "THE HELL IS THIS! Don't tell me that bitch MANAGED to survive that attack? That shit should have DESTROYED her ass!"
As he got close enough to inspect the glacier, the God Butcher realized that the glacier was not one singular formation, but rather multiple layers of thick sheets of ice, all coming together to form one gigantic shelter for the Queen of Helheim to hide in to protect herself. That being said, his attack still had inflicted massive damage, and various parts from most of the outer layers forming the glacier had been completely destroyed, leaving only a few still standing in between him and his prey. His attack had also completely annihilated all remaining ice spikes in the arena, reducing them to little more than debris and puddles.
Despite the insane amount of damage his attack had done to the arena, the God Butcher was now absolutely livid that his opponent had managed to survive his attack once again. Raising his claws he began tearing away at the remaining layers of the glacier while letting out a guttural roar of fury.
"I TOLD YOU BEFORE BITCH!" He howled, "YOU CAN'T KEEP RUNNING AND HIDING! I WILL GET TO YOU IN THE END! AND WHEN I DO! I'M GONNA MAKE SURE YOU SUFFER!"
Heimdall gulped at the extreme levels of violence the fighter was showing, "Uhm, well folks just when it seems like all hope was lost for the gods, Hel's SHEER tenacity and refusal to give up shocked us all once again and has helped pull her through ONCE more! The Queen of Helheim has just erected a gigantic glacier to shield herself from the God Butcher's devastating attack! Will she..."
"No."
The commanding voice of Ra interrupted Heimdall's commentary as the Watchman of the Apocalypse nervously turned to face the Sun God," uh, w-what did you say oh mighty Lord Ra?"
"I said NO, Hel will NOT be making some triumphant return and turning the tides of the battle if that is what you're suggesting Heimdall. Even if she ISN'T already dead, once that beast reaches the center of that glacier," Ra gestured to the God Butcher who was still relentlessly tearing through each layer of ice. "He will tear her to SHREDS as if she was paper. So there is no point in wasting our time anymore Heimdall, do your job and just announce humanity as the winner for this round."
Both humans and gods gasped at this statement, was Ra seriously throwing in the towel? Why would he choose to give up so easily, did he have no faith in his chosen fighter? In their room, the saviors of humanity exchanged worried looks, while it was technically good for them that Ra was forfeiting the round, something felt amiss about the Sun God's behavior.
"Uhm... But Lord Ra, with all due respect we need to actually SEE one of the fighters die and have their soul sent to Niflheim before we can announce the winner of the match." Heimdall timidly stated.
"It doesn't matter, she may have holed herself up inside a bunker to survive the last attack, but there is NO point in pretending that this match is going to somehow MIRACULOUSLY end up with us winning. If we lose this round, then so be it. The rest of my roster is still MORE than capable of wiping out their competition and bringing an end to humanity."
Ra casually sat back on to his throne, leaving Amaterasu and Huitzilopochtlishocked by his willingness to concede to the other side even though the match had yet to conclude.
Izanami meanwhile, wore a look of disgust as she stared daggers into Ra," For a god, you're one of VERY little faith, AREN'T you Lord Ra?"
Ra shrugged nonchalantly," I am simply stating the cold hard truth, I know you hold a fondness for Hel, Izanami. But like I said, there is NO use pretending that she is going to emerge from that glacier and somehow win the match. It's best for us to simply accept the loss and move on.
Izanami growled angrily as she began to rise from her seat, a ghostly purple aura forming around her as her eyes began to glow of the same color, "Why you..." She started.
"I would like to remind you, Izanami, that even though you are my elder and I hold you in high regard. I am STILL your superior in both status and skill, and I will NOT tolerate any disrespect from you like I would not your daughter's. So I advise that you remain seated and NOT question me any further." Ra said firmly, his voice was level and calm, but everyone in the room could sense the dangerous undertone and anger in it as well.
Izanami wisely chose to sit back down with a huff and turned her head away so that she would not have to face the Egyptian God. Ra smirked seeing this," My condolences for your loss." He said to her in an insincere tone, before turning his attention to Heimdall again and motioned for him to end the match.
Heimdall sighed, "Oh well, if Lord Ra decrees it then so be it I guess, gosh I preferred it when Lord Zeus was in charge, at least HE wasn't so scary and commanding." He thought to himself before raising his Gjallarhorn to announce the results of round 2, "WELL FOLKS! It seems that by special request from Lord Ra HIMSELF! The second round of Ragnarok No.2 will end EARLY! WITH THE VICTOR BEING..."
Before the Watchman of the Apocalypse could finish his sentence, there was a heavy, "SMASH!" As the God Butcher had finally broken through all the remaining layers of the glacier and had drastically cut it down to size, the once giant sheet of ice had been reduced to a sphere slightly bigger than himself. Now all that there was left to do for the God Butcher to do was to break this final obstacle in his way to finally reach his defenseless victim inside and finish the job.
"GAME OVER! QUEEN OF HELHEIM! I hope you're saying your final goodbyes inside that hidey hole of yours! CAUSE TIMES UP!" The God Butcher roared in triumph as he raised his massive fist above his head to smash the final line of defense that protected Hel from her bloodthirsty opponent.
However, right before he brought his hand down, the God Butcher suddenly felt cold, actually he wasn't just feeling cold, he was absolutely freezing. Looking down at the sphere in front of him, the God Butcher realized that cracks had begun to form all over it, and from those cracks, an icy blue glow pulsed brightly from within that seemed to be the source of the sudden plunge in temperature.
Before anyone could even do or say anything, the sphere split itself wide open with a mighty, "BOOM!" Followed by a massive blizzard exploding out from within, a ginormous whirling tornado made of snow and ice that was taller than even the entire Valhalla arena itself.
Covering his eyes and stumbling half blind through the mist, the God Butcher saw something that made his blood run colder than it already was. At the very top of the blizzard, behind all the snow and ice, were two giant glowing orbs, one was a brilliant bright green, while the other was a shining silvery gray. Both stared straight down at him from their position high above the battlefield grounds, with a chill down his spine, the God Butcher realized that those two things weren't orbs at all! They were eyes, eyes of some gigantic creature hidden behind the cover of the raging blizzard!
Suddenly a loud rumble could be heard all throughout the arena, and as if the blizzard itself were alive and speaking, a deep and echoing voice could be heard from within the snowstorm, one so loud that it could be heard by people miles away from the Valhalla arena.
"BEWARE O FOOLISH MORTAL! THE FROST JOTUN OF HELHEIM COMES FOR YOUR SOUL AT LAST!"
