ONE'S JUSTICE
CHAPTER SEVEN
Chapter 7: Target
HPSC HQ
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?!"
Bakugo screamed as he grabbed onto one of the older members of the HPSC. He glared down at the man who flinched in fear from the look the hero was giving him.
"Dynamight, let him go!" Endeavor said in a neutral tone as he went towards the boy but it was another person that got to him first.
"Yeah Bakubro, you might end up killing the guy!" Kirishima, Red Riot, said as he managed to pull Bakugo away from the man although you could tell he also wasn't happy at what he heard as well.
Tamaki was just standing at Endeavor's side with an angry expression.
"If you're done harassing my colleague you'll do well to remember we'll still your superiors, Dynamight." The head said in a neutral tone as she stared straight at the spiky blonde haired young man. "So unless you want your hero status revoked then behave yourself."
"You think you scare me?!" Bakugo retorted with a growl as he glared at the woman who flinched a bit from the look but managed to compose herself and stare back at him coldly.
"Whether I do or not doesn't matter. All that matters is that you do as you are told and we have no problem."
Bakugo snarled.
Endeavor placed his hand on the younger hero's shoulder and pushed him back slightly before he could attack the woman. He then stepped up to the people in front of them. "I still don't understand where all this came from."
"It's a matter of national security. For a few years now we've had to deal with AFO and his group who have also began to spread their influence to other countries." Endeavor was surprised at the last part of what she said. "And now we have some mad vigilante running around and doing whatever the hell he wants one that is even more dangerous than even AFO."
The group of heroes stayed silent. They had heard from Izuki how Ken had seemingly killed AFO from Shigaraki a few days ago.
"He's not someone we can let live. The rest of the UN also seem to agree with us." The woman continued earning nods from her other colleagues.
Tamaki chose that time to speak up. "He's too dangerous to let live? So you're asking us to end him. Is that it?!" He finished in an angry tone.
"Yes." She answered coldly. "As of this moment, just like Shigaraki, the vigilante, Ken Nagato is to be killed at any given opportunity."
Minato, Hours Later…
"You know you should still be resting." Kaina said as she walked up to the boy who sat on the edge of the roof of the building they were on.
"No time for that." He said without even looking at her. Nagant only sighed as she sat beside him, staring at the younger male who seemed deep in thought.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Hmm. Nothing important." He answered as he stood up. "Anywau I have to go meet someone right now so don't do anything stupid until I get back."
Nagant scoffed. "I should be telling you that." She muttered although Ken heard her. "Who is this person anyway?"
Ken grinned. "It's best you don't know that." Was all he said before he blasted off leaving her alone on the roof.
Flashback…
"Huh? You want me to meet your mum?" Ken asked in confusion.
Todoroki nodded as the two continued to stroll through the large hero school. "Yeah." He answered cooly. "My mother…she wanted to meet ever since I started visiting her again after the sports festival."
"Really?" Ken was not expecting that. "Why anyway? How did she even know of me?"
"I told her a lot about you." The ice and Fire boy said.
"Hope you didn't tell her anything bad."
"Unless your unnatural appetite is a bad thing then no, I didn't." Todoroki said with a smirk that surprised Ken. Since when did he start smirking a making jokes?
"How is she anyway?" He asked having heard of the condition the woman was in.
"She's better." Todoki answered. "At least she looked better than when last I saw her. Although the doctors said she still isn't ready to come home."
"I see." Ken said with a hum.
"She told me that she was watching the sports festival." The younger boy continued. "That she was happy seeing me give it my all although surprised that I was using both parts of my quirk."
"So you told her I helped out?"
"You and Midoriya."
"You know I didn't really do much."
Shoto stared at him. "Modesty doesn't suit you Nagato." He deadpanned earning a small chuckle from Ken.
"Hey Nagato…" Todoroki stopped walking prompting Ken to stop as well. "I plan on becoming the best hero there is." Ken blinked when he heard that as the boy looked at him. "So sooner or later, I'll even defeat and surpass you."
"Oh?" Ken grinned. "Is this some declaration of war? Unlike Izuki, I won't just let that slide."
"Far from it." Shot stated. "It's a promise to myself and to you. Be expecting a match soon."
"Okay then." Ken brought out his fist. "I'll be waiting then." Todoroki smirked slightly and met the boys fist with his own.
"Also if I win, you'll pay for my meals for a week." Ken added causing Todoroki to roll his eyes.
Flashback Over…
Musutafu, Japan
"Ah~ Shoto!"
"Shoto! You're the greatest!"
"So handsome!"
"Shoto!! Marry me!!"
Shoto sighed out a cold misty breath as he stared at the frozen for of the villain he had caught causing trouble in the city. Hearing the cheers of the many fan girls, although it was annoying, he still sent them a rather charming smile that caused them to cheer louder and swoon, further annoying him on the inside.
With the villain dealt with he blasted off using his flames, it had been another long day of patrolling and helping the people however he could do he decided to head on home.
As he flew home he thought back to the conversation he had been involved in days ago.
Flashback…
"Alright Midoriya what's this all about?" Shoto asked as he stared at the girl. Along with him where Momo, Tsuyu, Kaminari and Hagakure. The others were in busy in the cities they resided in so they couldn't come.
Izuki sighed as she switched off the TV and turned to face her former classmates. "I got a call from Shigaraki this morning."
The others froze on shock. Shigaraki had made contact with Izuki?! How?! Why?!
"What? When did this happen?" Kaminari questioned.
"This morning. But that's not the important thing right now." Izuki said.
"How is that not important?" Momo asked. "If he was able to get a hold of your contact, who knows what else he knows about you."
"Yeah Midoriya." Tsuyu added with a nod.
"I thought of that. I'll deal with that later." All Might's successor said. "But that's not why I called you guys."
"What is it then?" Todoroki askednin a deadpan tone.
"AFO's dead." She said and once again the room became silent as her guests were frozen in shock. AFO was dead?
"I was surprised to." Izuki said as she frowned. "But turns out that Ken was the one who did it." She finished clenching her fist.
The others were wide-eyed, shock and fear filled them although Todoroki didn't show his as much as the others.
Ken had managed to kill AFO. There weren't many people who could go against the man and Ken had and killed him. This means that he was too dangerous for any normal hero to go against.
Momo frowned as she thought of the older boy. Just what has happened to the boy over the past couple of years.
Shoto just stayed silent, not knowing what to say at that moment.
The situation was starting to get out of hand.
Flashback Over…
Shoto sighed as he landed in front of his home. It wasn't as big as the one he lived in when he was younger but it was still enough for a single person. He frowned as he thought of the conversation, his mind then drifting to the day it all changed back when they were still in UA.
If only…
"Icy hot!" He heard a familiar voice behind him causing him to turn and look at Bakugo who seemed even angrier than normal. What go him this mad?
"Evening Bakugo." He greeted in his normal deadpanned tone with a nod. "What brings you here?"
"We need to talk."
Flashback…
As he stood over the lifeless body, a whirlwind of emotions surged through him, each wave more suffocating than the last. His heart raced, thundering in his chest like a frantic drumbeat, drowning out the world around him. The reality of what he had just done pressed down on him, an oppressive weight that made it hard to breathe. He felt the cool air rush into his lungs, but it was not enough; panic clawed at his throat, constricting his windpipe. Memories of laughter and shared moments flashed before his eyes, a stark contrast to the cold stillness now lying at his feet. The gravity of his actions twisted in his stomach, threatening to consume him whole, and with each inhalation, his body betrayed him, betraying the calm he desperately sought.
Hyperventilation set in, a chaotic rhythm of gasps and shallow breaths that left him light-headed and disoriented. His vision blurred, reality warping into a surreal haze as he struggled to anchor himself to the ground. Each breath felt like it was drawing him deeper into an abyss, an overwhelming tide of guilt and horror crashing against the fragile shores of his sanity. He wanted to scream, to deny what he had done, but the sound lodged in his throat, silencing his cries. Shadows of doubt crept into his mind, gnawing at his resolve as he stumbled backward, his hands trembling violently. The starkness of the scene before him—the crimson stain on the ground, the empty gaze of his former friend—would haunt him forever, a stark reminder that he had crossed a line from which there was no return.
"The first kill is never easy kid." Someone said as another person walked up to him from behind. "But if you're going to continue on this road you're heading, you have to get used to it."
Ken stared at the blood on his hands as he continued to shake before he thought back to his mother, her lifeless body laying in his arms. He clenched his fist as he managed to force down his doubts and calm himself.
He already made his choice, he wasn't backing down now.
Flashback Over…
"You're not that easy to find you know." Ken said as he looked up att the night sky, gazing at the stars above. "Made me fly through three cities just to get to you."
"Making things easy is boring." Another voice said as someone else walked up from behind him sheathing one of his swords as he stood beside the vigilante.
"You're right about that Stain." Ken said with a smirk as he looked at the older vigilante. The Hero Killer, Stain.
"You've become quite the celebrity kid, especially now that word has spread of you killing AFO." Stain said. "Causing quite the trouble."
"You talk like you don't do the same thing." Ken retorted. "Still going around and killing 'fake' heroes."
"They deserve it." Stain grumbled. "Anyway, that's not why I called you here." He stated pulling outna folder from the bag he was carrying.
"Hm? What is that?" He asked glancing at the folder.
"Something that might catch your interests." The Hero Killer said as he handed the younger vigilante the folder. Ken frowned as he stared at the symbol on the folder. A clenched fists facing upwards with flames surrounding it.
"And it doesn't interest you?" Ken asked in a teasing tone.
Stain scoffed. "I don't have the time to deal with people like this. I only deal punishment to fake heroes and those that stand in my way."
"And what if I decide to go against you?"
"Then you'll face my blade." Stain answered gazing harshly at the boy. "I've given you what I wanted to give you, I don't care what you do with it." He added walking away from the boy.
"Later Stain." Stain didn't bother saying anything to the boy and disappeared into the night.
Ken's frown then returned as he looked at the folder. He then opened it and read through the first page.
'The Outcasts. At least now I know what they're called.'
His frown then deepened as he continued to read through a few more pages.
'This could be quite troublesome.'
