Minerva sighed as she checked once again that she had all the papers she had been sent. Looking up at the sleeping painting of Albus Dumbledore, she wondered how he had managed to run Hogwarts as long as he did. She had been officially named Headmistress of the School following the end of the Second Wizarding War and she was having to deal with the fallout. Harry, the poor boy, had told her all about Albus' plans. She huffed, glad that he was asleep. They had many bitter words the last few weeks as her temper flared from the strain of trying to fill all the vacant spots in the staff.
Minerva regarded two files on her desk. She had replaced Binns as the History of Magic professor, allowing him to stay on as a consultant out of respect for the ghost, but she needed a staff member that was able to think in the present. Modern and ancient history needed a balance. There was also the issue of the Muggle Studies professor, Burbage. Her body had never been found but some of the captured Death Eaters had confessed she had been executed by Tom Riddle himself. And of course, there was the Defense against the Dark Arts position. There was always the Defense position open at Hogwarts.
It was for that very position she sat at her desk on this beautiful July evening, instead of walking down to the grounds. Not to visit Albus' grave mind, though her wanderings did often take her by there. She glanced at a clock with her trademark scowl. Where was her perspective employee?
"Being late to your own interview is not a good way to start out." She remarked to the room at large. A soft voice silky smooth responded.
"My apologies, Professor Mcgonagall. I noticed something unusual on the way in and stopped to investigate. Please forgive my lateness."
She looked away from the clock in alarm to find a young man, no more than a boy really, with black hair and dark eyes looking at her. He had a pleasant smile on his lips, with just a hint of mischief. She blinked, taken aback at the youthful appearance of the person before her. Before she could speak though, she met his eyes. They were not the eyes of a child. No, these were the eyes of someone older than she herself could imagine.
"I did not hear you come in, Mr. Hiiragizawa." She tried to keep her voice calm but her heart was racing. Was she losing her touch since the final battle.
"Yes, I noticed you seem distracted so I thought it best to not disturb you." Came the reply in that same tone. Serious with just a hint of mirth, honestly this Eriol reminded her too much of Albus.
"Well, I have reviewed your resume and files and find you very capable as a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I wonder though, how the students will respond to having someone that appears younger than them as a teacher."
The young man leaned on his hand as she watched him. "Due to reasons beyond my control, I was forced to stop my bodies aging for some time. That ability is beyond me now, so I will age normally. Though I have the body of an eleven-year-old, my mind is far older. I just will be growing up with the incoming group of students and will be as an adult when they are."
"I see. I suspect if I were to ask further questions on those statements, you would deny me an answer?"
"I am sorry, Professor. Now that that power is beyond me, I cannot understand it any more than you can. I was able to do it, but now I cannot. But I am as powerful as any wizard or witch, maybe a little more so. I wish to teach, to pass on my skills to a newer generation of magic users."
Minerva softened as a note of passion entered his voice. "Very well. I understand your partner, Kaho, will also be interested in joining us to teach Muggle Studies?"
"Yes, Professor, if you deem her the right fit of course."
The headmistress nodded. "Very well. I will say that Hogwarts has a reputation. You will need to be discreet with your romance while in school."
"Of course, Professor. I would never do anything of the sort when you are trusting me."
"We are also allowing your magical servants in as well. However, the Moon is not to be consuming the magical cores of any students. Is this understood?"
"No not worry about Nakuru. I can provide her with my magic to sustain her. Also there will be another here in the school who will have plenty of excess magic, should it be needed."
"Ah yes, the new student you wanted to be admitted. Well, students." Minerva flipped open another file. "Sakura Kinomoto and Syaoran Li of the Li clan. A girl from Japan and a boy from Hong Kong."
"Yes, they are blood relations of mine. I feel like Hogwarts is the best place for them to grow into their powers, but I must warn you that the magic they possess makes most wizard and witches look like squibs. Sakura, in particular, magic is growing stronger every day. She can see the future in her dreams. I am afraid her powers are going to cause no small amount of trouble. Measures are being taken to help lessen that issue and I hope as she learns Witchcraft, she will gain the control she needs. She was far too young when she came into her powers, something I regret every day. I fear now she is at that age where her powers start to truly manifest, they will run wild."
"I see. You said you will have measures to help with this?"
"Yes, that is already in motion. She will also have her own Sun Guardian with her. I know Yue would come too if he could, but distance is no issue to the Judge. Should his Master be threatened, he will tear the heavens and earth apart to get to her."
"Very well. We are trying to get things back to normal after last year and the Battle of Hogwarts. Try to make sure things do not get too out of hand."
"Thank you, Professor." The young man got up to leave.
"Oh yes, Professor Hiiragizawai, what was that thing you stopped to investigate on your way up?"
The dark eyes twinkled in a way Minerva had not seen in some time. "There was a jynx on the office belonging to the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. I removed it, so hopefully, none of those horrible things keep happening to the ones in that post. Good evening, Headmistress."
He waved as he walked out of the doors. She waited a good three minutes before checking to see if the charms against Apperation were still in place. Such a weird young man. Hogwarts going to be interesting this year.
Hello everyone and welcome to a crossover between Card Captor Sakura and Harry Potter. This will be starting with the Clear Card Arc at Hogwarts with some changes. I have decided to place this story post the Battle of Hogwarts with Sakura, Syaoran, and Eriol starting at 11. I would like to go all 7 years but we will have to see. I do not own Harry Potter or Card Captor Sakura, those belong to JKR and CLAMP respectfully. I wonder who the new History of Magic Teacher is going to be?
Next time: Sakura and the Owl. Say it with me! Release!
Remember, we all have an unbeatable spell: "I know everything is going to be alright."
