That evening, Jane had returned home to find Maura waiting on her.

"Welcome home," said Maura from the couch.

"Thanks, what do you want for dinner?" asked Jane as she kissed Maura on the forehead before heading to put her bag and coat in the closet.

"I ordered chinese, it should be here in ten minutes," said Maura.

"I'm going to take a quick shower then so go ahead and pick a movie to watch while we eat," said Jane.

"May not have run the course but it was so hot today," she said while taking her shirt off to reveal her black bra and headed toward the bathroom.

"Okay, and I have something to say when you get out," said Maura.

"Same," said Jane. Once she was out of the shower, Jane quickly got dressed and joined Maura on the couch as their food had arrived.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" asked Jane.

"I'm going to be joining my friend here at the medical examiner's office," said Maura.

"You're leaving Boston?!" asked a surprised Jane who nearly dropped her food while staring at her girlfriend.

"I want to be closer to you," said Maura while blushing.

"I'm happy, but are you sure, you worked so hard to be the chief back in Boston and I don't want you throwing that away because of me," said Jane.

"Well I'll be the co-chief here and I will have you with me," said Maura.

"If you have put so much thought into it then you must be ready for everything that will come with this decision," said Jane.

"Now that I've told you my news, what were you going to say?" asked Maura.

"I was going to ask you to marry me," said Jane while pulling out a small box from her pocket and opening it to reveal a diamond ring.
