Built For Sin (Scream 4)

Chapter 1

Five Years Later

Two teenage girls are lounging in the family room of a large house. Jenny laughs loudly pausing Stab 7."Oh god, I love it I've seen this movie five times, it gets me every time,"

Her friend Marnie rolls her eyes unimpressed, "you're kidding? I don't get it." She says confused looking at the screen. she begged her friend for a different movie but all should could talk about was Stabb so she lost that battle.

Jenny turns to her friend shocked, "it's like a Twilight zone movie within a movie." She explains.

Marnie puts her hand out stopping her, "I get that. But it's illogical. It begs the question. Is the beginning of STAB 7 STAB 6? What's at the beginning of STAB 6? STAB 5? And, if so, what was STAB 4 about?"

Jenny stares at her, "your overthinking it,"

Marnie shifts uncomfortable "You know what kills me? Somewhere, someone thought that was clever...there's a reason why I don't watch these movies,"

"I can't believe you've never seen them, we live in Woodsboro," Jenny says, shaking her head in disbelief.

Marnie sits up, "this has nothing to do with Woodsboro. I thought Stab was based on true stories."

"The first three of the trilogy were all about Amara Carpenter, her friends, and the murders," Jenny explains.

"The story doesn't add up to me, my mom went to school with them, and she's told me differently," Marnie says as a fact.

"Like what?" Jenny questions, excited to know."Like Billy and Stu we're obsessed with Amara, but she was in love with Roman Bridger" Marnie says as a fact.

Jenny scoffs, shaking her head, "No way, Billstumara for life," she states, trying to mash their names together.

"That is the stupidest name I've ever heard" Marnie says, Jenny shushes her asking her if she heard a noise.

"No," Marnie replies rolling her eyes, "I am not falling for that again," she groans, not in the mood to be pranked or scared.

"I heard something," Jenny says heading upstairs but Marnie doesn't move. The phone rings and Jenny shouts for her to get it, Marnie rolls her eyes picking up the phone to hear a disguised man's voice scaring her, then she hears Jenny's laugh.

"I don't know why you get off on this shit - AAHHHH.." Marnie screams before the line goes dead making Jenny stop laughing.

"Marnie? Marnie?" She tried again on the phone but received no response. Jenny thought for a second she was being pranked but the scream sounded real.

She headed down the stairs back to the family room completely dark and empty and the patio doors were wide open, making Jenny look around.

"Marnie, where'd you go?" She shouts out as she circles around the couch, she stumbles over something tripping over Marnie's cold lifeless body.

She screams running for the door only to open it to be stabbed in the stomach. She looks up to see a cloaked figure in a Ghostface mask.

Clutching her wound hard she kicks the killer running for her garage, she makes it inside but the killer quickly catches up stabbing her in the back making her fall down the stairs, she's able to open the garage and crawl halfway through but the killer makes it go back down keeping her in place before he drags her by her foot.

He flips her straddling her as she screams out he strikes down ending her life.

At that exact moment, miles away Billy and Stu clutch the right side of their chests feeling a familiar pain and shift of energy they couldn't understand.

Farther away an unmarked grave laid quietly still until a rumble erupted on the ground.

A now reborn killer raised from their grave inhaling deeply as their eyes flashed a quick deep yellow, he smiles darkly as he heads to Woodsboro ready to kill anyone in his path.

Back in Woodsboro

Pop*

Tatum pops open a wine bottle pouring Amara, her girlfriend and Sidney a glass, while Randy and Mark grab beers. They all toast laughing, they are all gathered at Tatum's house to celebrate Sidney's book and Randy making Detective.

Randy and Sidney kiss, making Tatum fake gag, "get a room you two," she scolds sitting on her girlfriend's lap, Amara notices a look of envy from Kincaid as he watches the pair drinking his beer.

"The nerve," Randy replies, staring at the couple that couldn't keep their hands to themselves, Amara was happy that Tatum was able to move on with her life, she spent so many years standing by her side protecting her, for her to have her own happiness makes Amara real excited for her.

"Guys I kinda feel bad not inviting Gale and Dewey," Sidney says feeling guilty as Tatum rolls her eyes.

"I'm sorry I don't want to hear them arguing all night," Tatum grumbles, she adored Dewey and Gale's relationship but they've been so rocky lately. "Wish he'd dump her and move on," she grumbles. After all these years she still did not like Gale.

"Did you guys see the Ghostface decorations?" Randy asks randomly, making everyone groan. Thanks to Billy and Stu's actions, they are the most popular serial killers that ever lived. Roman was labeled the strongest since he didn't exactly have a partner when all the murders happened, though he's labeled that way, he's not a popular favorite.

"I told you if you bring your husband, no Ghostface talk," Tatum turns to Sidney, annoyed by Randy already. "It's been five quiet years, I'd like to finally move the fuck on," she says downing the rest of her glass as girlfriend Rose, rubs her back consoling her.

"So how long are you guys gonna be in town?" Tatum asks Randy and Sidney, trying to change the subject.

"Just tomorrow," Sidney answers, they then turn to Amara for her answer.. "Oh Um..I'll probably be leaving tomorrow as well. Amara's phone rings loudly, she sees it's Billy calling and excuses herself to answer.

"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly, rushing out, "

I'm fine, what's wrong?" She asks lightly, scared by his tone of voice.

"Nothing... just wanted to check on you," he says, Amara right away thinks he's lying but before she could answer him he disconnects the call. 'He did not just hang up on me, There's definitely something wrong.

Huffing annoyed she decides to text Stu, knowing he wouldn't lie to her, he texts back immediately seconds later. "Everything's fine," She mumbles confused out loud, not by the words but the fact he said her full name, Stu never called her by her name unless he's serious or trying to hide something.

"Everything okay?" Tatum asks, breaking Amara out of her thoughts.

"Yeah...I hope so," she mumbles looking at the phone.

"Would you ever consider moving back to Woodsboro?" Tatum whispers curiously.

Amara thinks for a second, "I've thought about it alot actually but if people we're to recognize Billy and Stu,

Tatum nods in understanding, "I know keeping their secret has been weighing on you,"

"It's better to have them around me, and the twins not only do they keep them sane but they keep me sane too" she explains.

Tatum nods before hugging her tightly. Sidney appears leaning against the door. "You guys okay?"

"Yes," Tatum answers, hooking her arm with Amara's leading her back into the house.

Next-Day Town Square

Amara, Tatum, and Randy stood in the front row of the crowded bookstore as Sidney stood reading her book.

"I was playing the role of victim. The only problem? I never auditioned for the role. I never asked for the part, but here I was playing it to the hilt. Sidney Prescott, the real-life Scream Queen. Celebrity victim. It wasn't who I set out to be. It wasn't the life I wanted." Sidney read out loud explaining.

Gale sneaks in taking a spot among the crowd, she was envious yet moved by Sidney's words. "Maybe you should write a book," Tatum whispers.

"Yeah, 100 steps on how to make serial killers obsessed with you," Amara quips, making Tatum snicker trying to keep her laughs quiet.

"It was clear my life needed a rewrite, a re-imagining. I had to create a new part to play. So, I sat down and began to write a new life for myself. A life that accepted my past but was no longer imprisoned by it." Sidney finishes making the room applaud loudly.

Amara and Tatum move to hug Sidney but her power-hungry assistant Rebecca stepped in their way. "We're gonna begin the book signing in just a few minutes," she reminds Sid, pointing at her watch.

Tatum roughly pushes her out of the way, hugging Sidney. "We are so proud of you," Amara joins the hug agreeing. Rebecca scoffs at Tatums behavior but says nothing walking away.

"Can I hug my wife now?" Randy asks annoyedly, holding up a bouquet of flowers Amara laughs letting her go.

Tatum squint's her eyes at him hanging onto Sidney, "are you sure she's your wife?" she asks teasingly.

"Nice try, it's too late now," he says disapprovingly, pulling Sidney back into him and making Tatum pout. "I could've had Sidney," That might actually be true, few years back Tatum admitted to having a small crush on Sidney and at one point Amara.

Randy turns to his wife waiting for her to deny it but she quickly notices Amara's mom and her Aunt Kate arm in arm laughing.

"Aunt Kate, you made it," she professed happily, throwing her arms around her.

Randy looks at Amara, "She didn't answer, is it true?" he asks curiously. Amara bites her lip holding back a laugh.

"Mom," Amara jeers, happily hugging her mother and avoiding Randy's question, making him groan and have suspicions.

"How's Jill?" Sidney asks her aunt, "she's great you'll see her at dinner, it's been too long." she replies.

Sidney smiles sadly"Yeah it has, I know since dad's funeral I haven't been good with phone calls,"

"You're here now, will have a good time tonight,"

"Speaking of, Amara you're going," Christina says, hooking her arm back through Kate's.

Amara gives a puzzled look, "um okay..." she didn't understand why she was invited but she guessed since her mom and aunt were friends with Kate when they were younger.

Sidney's assistant Rebecca steps in between the group making Tatum eye her up and down."We have to keep it moving," she urges, not paying any attention to the glares her way.

"See you guys tonight," Kate says excitedly walking away with Christina, only for Gale to appear a few seconds later where they stood.

Gale eyes Amara for a few seconds debating on if she'd even want to hug her, she settles with a small "hey" before turning to Sidney.

The air was instantly tense and awkward but Sidney hugs Gale, breaking the tension. "It's good to see you, Gale, I was hoping you'd come."

"Congratulations Sidney...and to you too Randy heard you made detective," Gale congratulates both. They both nod making it immediately awkward again.

Tatum leans into Amara, "Does Gale seem different to you?" she whispers, Amara nods agreeing.

Dewey walks in easing the tension until everyone notices the look on his face, they all knew him enough to know something was wrong. A commotion erupts around the group as people pointed to the news vans and cars pulling up.

Tatum grips Amara's arm pulling her to Dewey, "what the hell is going on?!" she whisper shouts angrily.

"Found two teenage girls dead this morning, we tracked the phone here...it was in the trunk of your car Sid," Dewey says.

Sidney's blood goes cold at his words. "We also found blood and the Ghostface mask in your car, Amara," he adds, Amara looks at him like he's gone insane.

"If that's the case we're out of here," Amara jeers but Dewey shakes his head standing in her way"I'm afraid neither you nor Sidney can leave,"

"Dewey you know I can't stay here," she whispers.

"Sorry, Mara, I know you're not the killer but I have to keep you in town until this is solved." Dewey explains feeling guilty from keeping her from her kids. This was the last thing she needed right now. If she;s gone too long Billy and Stu will come for her and usually when she's caught a trail of bodies are left behind.

"Dammit," Amara groans in frustration, Tatum rubs her back consoling her.

"Anything to help," Randy nods while consoling a worried Sidney.

Police Station

(Dewey's Office.)

Amara takes her pills sipping from her cup of water as Dewey showed us his murder board. Randy stared at it amazed while Tatum and Amara eyed each other worried. It showed all of Billy and Stu's victims, one of them being Billy's father.

"See you followed my leads," Randy points out to Dewey who nods smiling. Gale and Sidney eye the board confused. "What the hell is this?" Gale questions.

"I know this is gonna sound crazy, but Dewey and I have been tracking Billy and Stu, and sometimes Roman," Randy says, pointing at Billy and Stu's pictures at the very top of the board.

"Multiple bodies have been found either gutted or throat slit from Woodsboro to Windsor College, back to Woodsboro then back near the college where they killed Amara's therapist and led a trail through California where they possibly murdered Roman," Dewey explains. Tatum looks down at her nails while Amara bites her tongue, almost drawing blood.

"He's alive, Dewey," Randy says sure of it. " Three weeks ago, money was taken from John Milton's accounts, he's the only one who had access since he was his heir.

"Why take the money now?" Tatum asks, confused.

"That I'm not sure about," he tells her looking at the board.

Gale and Sidney's mouths go wide looking at their husbands like they were insane. "Randy, they're gone, no one has seen them in years, or my brother for that matter" Sidney tells her husband not wanting to believe any of this is true.

"Or..or hear us out, Billy,Roman and Stu are," he pauses for effect, "Supernatural,"

"Dewey tell me you don't believe this," Tatum turns to her brother who jumps surprised.

"Dewey, don't answer that," Randy demands, pointing at him. "Billy fell into a coma after the house fire right? Everyone says killed Bill's father but what if Billy did it and when he tried to cover it up something went wrong," he goes through his files pulling out a folder.

"Remember the massacre at the hospital near the old college? Billy was staying at that hospital and got this, down the hall from another serial killer, coincidence? Not!"

"I looked into him.. Well of what's left of him to look into, and guess who his half brother was?" before anyone can guess he yells out, "Billy's father,"

"He never mentioned a brother though,"

"If you had a family member that checked up body's would you be mentioning it?" he asks his wife, who shakes her head deep in thought. "There's footage of him leaving out the backdoor of the hospital covered in blood and at that exact moment you could see Billy leaving out the front,"

"So?" Tatum says annoyed.

"So that means they woke up at the same time, another coincidence ? yeah right, I think this Danny guy, recruited them and made him do his bidding," Randy reveals another board, that has other past ghostfaces

"In college, at the sorority party I'm assuming Roman took Amara's blood, and since Mickey was driving the car that took Sid based on Roman's physique," he mumbles, everyone stares at him like he's gone crazy, Amara finds herself spacing out at the picture of Cotton on the board.

She missed him.

"Nancy Loomis tried to look for the very book Billy found, guessing where? a serial killer's house. I think they made some kind of deal, that keeps them alive as long as they spill blood, and if I'm right, Roman and Mickey could be out there with the very same abilities,"

"Micky died Randy," Tatum states dryly.

"Or did he?" Randy questions back.

"If that's true, then why leave us alive? Why not come for us," Sidney asks him with irritation standing up.

"I have two theories, One being they know we're important to Amara and that she'll hate them forever if they killed one of us or they've been stalking us from a distance planning something.

"So you think it's all four working together?" Gale says in disbelief.

"No way, pretty sure Billy hates Roman," he says like it's a fact, Amara raises a brow impressed, she knew Randy was smart but this is dangerous.

"You think something supernatural is going on?!" she asks in disbelief at what she was hearing.

"Yes! When stabbed Amara something threw her off of her... it's hard to explain but I know the woman flew through the air," He describes with his arm.

"I've spoken to multiple witnesses, and they're all saying the same thing, they come out of the shadows, I have one witness who survived and fought him off, she swears on her life his eyes glowed."

Everyone goes quiet not answering. "Victims are gutted from groin to sternum, I recall knowing two guys who loved doing that," he states in an obvious tone, making Sidney look down.

"Okay say they are alive... are they doing these things?" Gale asks.

Randy shakes his head, "I've noticed their kills become more gruesome the more they kill it's like...they get stronger and more creative..but they're not in Woodsboro."

"So copycat?" Dewey asks to clarify.

"Yes...for now," Randy adds a little unsure. He's known Billy and Stu his whole life and he knew if they were alive they wouldn't let Amara out of their sight.

Deputy Hicks knocks on the door interrupting the conversation. "Your aunt and niece are here," she alerts Sidney, making her stand. Tatum and Amara follow her deciding I'd be better to just stick together.

"Will talk about this later." Sidney says to Randy making him gulp, Tatum laughs at his fear.

Amara stands looking over the board. "You said the more they kill the more gruesome?" She asks Randy.

"Yeah, it's like their humanity gets further away. Better hope they have an anchor." He mutters.

"Anchor?" She questions confused. "Something that keeps them from fully going dark...they must have one." he explains.

"Why do you think that?" She asks curiously.

"I've noticed the people they've been killing recently aren't innocent like they usually would be," he says, almost not believing it.

"Mara, let's go," Tatum whispers, hooking her arm with Amara's pulling her out of the room and into the conference room where Sidney's aunt, Kate, stood against the door and three unfamiliar girls sat down.
