Review Corner

I am vegito: Glad you liked the chapter

RKF22: glad you liked it

Guest: glad you liked it

Daniel6: I felt like Surge needed a bit more character development other than being a bully. He is harsh but he actually cares. Maybe they will meet. I had trouble thinking of an original middle name so I went with the original name. You're welcome, I respond to all reviews as best I can

Wrightdylen21: you're welcome

Brandoncom957: eventually. I felt like there should be more to them just arriving at the beach

Graystripe: interesting idea.

B0bbles: glad you like how I saw Meowzie.

Johnathan-Mandrake: why, I'm not hiding anything

Guest 2: here is more

StarDragon001: glad oyu liked several points of the fic. Now about the negatives. 1: usually when I write short descriptive bits, it is in the middle of the night and my brain is being blegh. I know this is an issue of mine and I gotta stop. 3: I do have some things plans that show Ash's Pokémon side, I just haven't gotten to them yet. There are several episodes where it will be far more prominent but we haven't gotten to them yet. 4: I have plans for some episodes where specified Pokémon will get their spotlight. Especially since in the show, he usually caught the Pokémon and they tend not to show up. I will bring them up more when they are training. Tyrunt though, will have to wait since it is still a baby. I want to be semi-realistic (in a fic about battling monsters :P) and wait a bit before training is taken. 5: I can be creative and descriptive in some things but when it's the middle of the night, I tend to forget to write descriptions and little tidbits. Gotta work on that.

I don't plan to abandon most of my stories. Some of them were cool ideas but I didn't think them through or plan anything. But as of right now, 95% of them are good to stick around.

Sure, I'll let you know

Mr-Luca-Wolf: well, here it is

Guest 3: interesting idea. I still gotta watch the rest of the MLP seasons so I can have more info for my MLP X DP fic.

Pinkypi: I am close to adding one of the Nido lines to the team. It will end up at the ranch but it will still be at the team. When I add a bruiser Pokémon, there could be some slug fests with sheer physical attacks. For the reproduction thing, I think the only reason legends don't reproduce is because there isn't another Pokémon that is similar enough to breed with. Lugia did so. And either way, it's a fic, I could add that if I wanted. But it isn't like I would have a scene like that (if I did, it would be separate from this). Either way, close companionship, cuddle piles, and fluffy love is exactly what I am aiming for. I'm just a sucker for romance and I am losing grip on options. So many bloody options. XP

Before we get to the story, I want to answer a couple of question that is asked constantly despite how I believe I answered it already.

Ash WILL find out eventually. Brock and Misty too

He will get his abilities eventually

He will meet the other mews

It's still early in the story so let it build. Can't jump into that yet since he still has his journey.

Chapter 16: Surprises on the Saint Anne

"Sandshrew, Fury swipe!"

Sandshrew ran forward before his claws lit up and swiped at his opponent.

"Left….right…..woah!" Buttefree spoke out the attacks aimed at him as he was doing his best to dodge. "Argh!" Unfortunately, the last swipe was able to hit him and he fell to the ground.

Ash called out to Sandshrew. "Alright, that's enough."

Sandshrew lowered his claws and looked back at his trainer. He smiled when he got patted on the head and praised for his efforts.

Ash smiled at Sandshrew before he moved over to Buttefree who was lying on his back and heavy in air. "You ok?"

Butterfree looked up at Ash. "I don't think I will ever get used to wearing this." He looked down at his body at the training jacket that he was wearing. He tried not to loosen up his tension since he knew that if he did, he would be curled up into a ball. Even on the ground, he had to put in the effort to just lay there.

Ash smiled sardonically before he reached down and unclipped the jacket.

Butterfree completely sagged onto the ground now that he was free from the jacket. "I think I need a break."

Ash gently rubbed the top of Butterfree's head and nodded. "I think we're done for the day, you can relax."

Butterfree nodded before he fell unconscious from exhaustion. He had been wearing that jacket for the last four battles. The first was against Oddish who was using bullet seed for him to avoid, there was avoiding Vine whip from Bulbasaur, after that was Meowzie using scratch on him, and finally Sandshrew. It was for him to get used to moving. So, he deserved this rest.

Ash picked Butterfree up and moved over to where Brock and Avoline were sitting while Sandshrew went to grab the jacket that was left behind.

Lucario and Avoline were out of their Pokeballs as they watched the boy's training.

Avoline smiled up at Ash as he got closer. "That was a long bout of training for Butterfree. All of them are getting better."

Meowzie was licking her paw as she looked at the young Joy. "I hope so. I've never done so much work before." She looked at her paw before flexing her claws out. She brought them back in and laid her head down. "And I never want to wear that dreadful jacket."

Ash chuckled as he sat down on the blanket that was set out and placed Butterfree down on the grass. "Well, after the Vermillion gym, I figured that I should get ready for the next gym ahead of time."

Brock nodded before looking to his left. "Well, you were inspired to do so thanks to her."

"Eevee, swift!"

Eevee jumped into the air and opened her mouth before shooting out stars at the water.

Feebas jumped out of the water to avoid the attack, making sure to keep an eye on the attack.

Misty threw her hand forward. "Keep it up, Eevee!"

Eevee nodded before launching the attack at Feebas.

Feebas kept ducking under the water, popping back up, and ducking under again. This kept going as Eevee kept the assault going. She could only get a brief look at the attack but she was getting an idea on how it was done. Once she ducked under a seventh time, she jumped as high as she could and focused her energy into her mouth. Light began to appear in front of her mouth and she closed her eyes to shoot out what she had. Unfortunately, a single star was all that came out and it fizzled out halfway toward Eevee. She splashed back into the water before surfacing with a happy expression.

Misty smiled as she ran into the water and picked Feebas up. "You almost did it! After some more practice, we can finally start battling!"

Feebas smiled at her trainer. "I can finally join in on battles!"

Avoline saw this and smiled at the sight. She leaned in closer to Ash and silently asked. "How long do you think until it happens?"

Ash smirked as he leaned in and whispered back. "With the amount of beauty stuff we got her to do, I would say really soon."

Brock looked at the whispering two and asked. He had a playful smirk as he knew the two were holding onto a secret. "What are you two hiding?"

Ash and Avoline looked at him with innocent smiles on their faces as they both answered. "Nothing."

Brock chuckled at the symmetry. "Uh-huh." He pushed himself off the ground and walked toward Misty. "I just remembered that I now have my own water Pokémon that I should train." He pulled out a Pokeball and chuckled at what he said. "A rock trainer with a water Pokémon, There's something I never thought I would say but at least it's still a rock type." He waved his hand as he called out to Misty. "Hey, Misty, mind if I train with you?"

Ash sighed as he felt like he should take a break along with his Pokémon.

Avoline pulled out the map and looked at their next stop. "Looks like the next stop is a port town. Is there anything we are running out of?"

Ash was about to grab his bag but Lucario handed it over to him. "Oh, thanks."

Lucario nodded, before looking back toward the forest.

Avoline looked at Lucario before asking. "Ash, why haven't you trained Lucario? I've seen you do some light training with your other Pokémon, even the ones of your research team but I haven't seen you train Lucario."

Ash shrugged. "I asked if Lucario wanted to train but it just shook its head. All it does is observe us during training. I don't think it is against training but I don't know what it is waiting for."

Avoline looked at the fighting steel type and she couldn't tell what it was thinking. "Maybe it will tell us when the time comes, or it is waiting for something."

Ash shrugged. "I hope it isn't mad at me for something, or maybe it wants to find a place it can go off on its own."

Lucario looked over its shoulder before shaking its head.

Gardevior spoke up from here. "You don't have to worry about that. Lucario doesn't hate you or want to leave at some point. It is just doing something in h- its nature."

Ash felt relieved about that cause he didn't want one of his Pokémon to hate him but he realized something from what Gardevior said. "Hey, wait! You know what gender Lucario is, don't you!?"

Gardevior turned her head away, not looking at either Ash or Lucario who she could tell was a little peeved at her. "Of course not."

Ash stood up and gave a betrayed look at her. "Lair! Come on, let me know. I am tired of saying 'it' every time I am talking about Lucario."

Avoline had no idea what her Pokémon was saying but based on what Ash said, Gardevior let slip that she knew the gender of Lucario. She herself could have figured it out but she would need to examine the Pokémon first, however, since it isn't hers, she didn't have the right to force an examination.

Pikachu and Eevee came up to Meowth, dripping wet, as they saw Ash and Gardevior arguing.

Eevee asked MEowth. "What is going on?"

Meowth used her paw to gesture at the three as she spoke about them. "Gardevior knows Lucario's gender but won't tell Ash. Ash wants to know cause he doesn't want to keep calling Lucario 'it'. Honestly, I don't think it matters. Lucario will tell him when it wants to."

Pikachu crossed her arms and nodded. She didn't see any problem with it but she figured that Ash just didn't want to treat Lucario in any form that would seem like he was objectifying the fighting type.

Ash finally had enough and grabbed all his Pokeballs. He summoned every single Pokémon he had before pointing at Gardevoir. "Dog pile her!"

All of the Pokémon were a bit confused about the order since they didn't know the reason for this.

Gardevior smiled as she gestured at the summoned Pokémon. "Or, you could jump up and snuggle with Ash."

The Pokémon looked from Gardevior to Ash and back again a few times before they all smiled and jumped on top of Ash.

"Aah! Traitors!"

Avoline laughed at the sight of Ash being dogpiled by all of his Pokémon. She felt something tap her leg and looked down to see Sandshrew with the jacket on. She saw that he wanted it off and took it off him before the ground type jumped into the pile. She looked at the still-sleeping bug type and figured that she should move him so he didn't get rolled over. She got up and picked up Butterfree before placing him behind her as she sat down.

Ash began to wrestle with his Pokémon with a smile on his face. "Payback!"

Lucario watched the playful wrestling before looking at Gardevoir.

Gadevior smiled at the closed eyes of Lucario and shrugged. "At least he is happy."

After the gang rested from the training they did, they made their way to the port town.

They made a trip to the Poke-mart first to resupply what little they had before heading to the Pokémon center. While there, they saw a poster that advertised the boats that were docked and they figured that they should have a look.

Lucario and Gardevior were returned to their Pokeballs so they could rest up.

Once everything was done, they crossed the small bridge that led to the dock and they were in awe at all the cruise ships that were there.

"Woah! Look at them all."

The gang looked at all of the yachts that were docked, each one being different from the other. They each imagined what it would be like to be on one of them.

Ash imagined seeing so many Pokémon on a cruise ship like these. "I would love to go around the world on a ship like that."

Brock nodded. "It would be great to see all the Pokémon swimming by as we sail."

Misty had stars in her eyes as she imagined it. "Oh, just think about it. Sunbathing on the deck of a cruise."

Avoline nodded as she imagined standing by the railing, feeling the sea breeze on her face. "It would be amazing to see the crisp air as we see the beauty of the ocean."

Meowzie remembered her time on the cruise with her old owner. "The last one I was on was truly wonderful."

Eevee wondered what it would be like as she had never been on one before.

Pikachu was unsure about it since she didn't know what a cruise might have. But she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious.

Brock then frowned as spoke up the reality. "But we could never afford a cruise like that."

The group sagged at his words and began to trudge away with a dark aura.

Ash grumbled out. "Reality sure stinks sometimes."

Avoline nodded. "It was a nice thought though."

The group grumbled in agreement.

The group trudged along, not really paying attention to where they were going. They were suddenly halted by confetti poppers going off.

"Congratulations! You guys are way lucky. You can go on a super deluxe sea crui~se!" a pair of gyarus came up in front of our heroes after they set off the poppers.

The gang parroted what they said as they were lost about what was going on. "A sea cruise?"

The gyaru with long orange hair stepped up in front of them as she held up a few tickets in her hand. "Well, it's like, you know, we have these super awesome tickets."

"Co~ol."

She then held the tickets in front of Ash. "these are tickets to join the coolest party ever, aboard the St. Anne cruise liner."

Ash looked up at the girl in surprise. "The famous St. Anne?! Really?"

"Co~ol."

The orange-haired gyaru nodded. "Everyone is gonna get together and have like the coolest party ever."

"Co~ol."

"And the party is for Pokémon trainers only."

"Co~ol."

The two gyarus then posed as if presenting them the prize. "Step right up." The blonde guru giggled. "It'll be a radical party. All the most radical Pokémon trainers will be there."

Ash leaned in toward Misty as he asked with a raised eyebrow. "Does anyone say radical anymore?"

The gyaru smiled as she held the tickets toward Ash. "Well, dudes, here you go."

Brock looked at the tickets before looking back at the girls. "We would love to go on the cruise but we don't have the money to pay for something this expensive."

The gyaru shook her head. "Woah, like you totally misunderstand. They are totally free. To-ta-lly- free."

Avoline eyed them with suspicion. "Why are you giving these away for free? These aren't something that you just give away."

"Well, like our boyfriend and friends couldn't all come on the cruise and we didn't want to go without them and so we saw you and thought you looked totally cool-"

"Co~ol."

"So we decided that you guys would put these tickets to total use."

"Co~ol."

"Just take them and have a good time."

Ash looked at the tickets before taking them. "Wow, thanks."

The gyarus smiled before they waved them goodbye. "Well, have a totally good time." they left, skipping along at a fast pace.

Ash looked at his friends. "I guess when we want something bad enough luck can give us a hand."

Pikachu rubbed her nose in Ash's hat as she grumbled. "What was that smell? It was so strong."

Ash looked up and answered as if he was just noticing something. "She must have just put on hair dye. My mom tried it once and the smell stuck around for a while."

Misty looked at Ash as they began to walk. "Your mom tried on hair dye?

Ash shook his head. "No, she made me try it. She washed it out after I told her the smell burned my nose but it stuck around for days."

The group began to walk around the port as they were trying to find the St. Anne.

"Which one of these is the St. Anne?" Was Ash's question as he couldn't figure out which one was the one they were to board.

Misty stopped as she pointed at the cruise. "That's it!"

The group looked at the one she was pointing at and were surprised to see the size of it.

"Woah, look at the size of the thing."

"I can't believe we get to ride on that."

"It was a little weird but if we get to enjoy the cruise, I guess it's ok."

Behind the group, hiding in a bush, were the two Gyarus, who were Jessie and James in disguise. (1)

Jessie smirked as she saw their primary targets going toward the St. Anne. "We did it, we got them."

James looked at Jessie as he cupped his face and spoke in a girly voice. "Like wow, don't I make like the co~olest girl?"

Jessie grew a tick mark before she slammed his head with a hammer. "Don't be an ignoramus." She grabbed him by the collar and began to drag him away.

Jessie dragged James all the way to a lighthouse at the edge of the port. She made sure they weren't seen before she tossed James in and followed.

Jessie, James, and Meowth were now standing in a computer room as Meowth pressed a button.

"We gotta call the boss."

A screen in front of them turned on to reveal Giovanni.

{Have the tickets been distributed?}

The three nodded as they gave confirmation.

A Persian came out from off-screen and sat next to the man.

Meowth was shocked by the sight. "Meowth, what's with the Persian?" He felt abandoned when he saw the boss petting the evolved cat Pokémon. "But, Boss, aren't I your favorite anymore?"

{You three have failed me time and time again. Praise is only meant for those who have succeeded in their efforts to gain me Pokémon.}

Jessie nodded. "This plan will be a huge success, with all the Team Rocket members that snuck into the staff, there is no way this can fail."

James asked the boss something that was on his mind. "But was it really ok to hand out all those tickets?"

{The price of those feeble tickets will be nothing compared to all the Pokémon that we will acquire from all those onboard. When I give the signal, the operation will commence. Don't fail me.}

The screen turned off and the three members nodded as they left to board the St. Anne.

Giovanni lifted up a remote before pressing the big red button on it. Several screens lit up as security footage of the boat's interior began to be displayed on them.

"Is all this necessary?"

Giovanni didn't look back as he answered. "When a chance to acquire what you desire shows up, you must grasp it. You may never get another chance."

Mewtwo eyed the screens for a moment before lowering his head and closing his eyes, seeing no purpose in this.

Ash and his friends finally made it to the ramp that would allow them to board the boat.

Ash was excited to board the ship as he walked up the ramp but he tilted his body to the side to look past the steps and see another ramp at the end of the boat. "I wonder what that is for?"

Avoline saw what he was looking at and spoke up her thoughts. "It might be for some cargo. A ship like this might be used for transporting goods too."

Brock nodded. "Makes sense. If something can be used for multiple things, why not take advantage of it."

Ash nodded. "Makes sense."

Unseen by the gang, several silhouettes jumped up the ramp and onto the ship.

Misty looked over her shoulder toward the front of the ship and the ocean beyond. "I can't wait for us to get sailing through the open sea."

Once the group made it to the top, Ash pulled out the tickets and showed them to the man waiting for them.

The man looked at the tickets and nodded. "Welcome aboard the St. Anne, please head into the main lobby with the other trainers."

Ash thanked the man and followed directions.

When the group made it in, they saw that it was filled to the brim with trainers, all of which were talking about Pokémon, their training methods, and the badges they collected.

Ash was slack-jawed at the sight as he could not believe what else was there. He could see stalls that sold Pokémon nick-nacks, supplies, souvenirs, and accessories. "Oh wow!"

Misty looked at all the party had to offer. "This is incredible."

Brock nodded. "Yeah, there're all sorts of things here. Looks like they even have grooming stalls."

The group would have headed to the stalls to see what they had but their attention was taken when the lights went off.

A spotlight shone on a spot in front of the crowd and all of the trainers looked toward it,

Coming into the light was a portly older man with a captain's outfit. "Welcome trainers, to the St. Anne cruise line!" He allowed the crowd to cheer for a minute before he continued. "We will be launching soon but there are a few things that I must bring up first." He saw that he had all their attention and continued. "As you can see, there are stalls that have many different goods, please be respectful and not crowd them all at once. For all you trainers itching for battle, we will have an arena for battles to take place, but due to the abundance of participants, there will be a machine you can register to take battle and you will be given a number that will be called so that you can head to one of the arenas for your battle. There will be a time when battles will not take place, which can be found on the poster on the wall. There will be many different forms of entertainment on the many levels of this ship so please explore and find one that you will enjoy." He smiled as he was excited about this last bit. "And for those who have noticed the secondary ramp that leads to another part of the ship, there will be wild Pokémon wandering the ship." The cheering from the crowd began to grow in volume but he wanted to finish before they went berserk. "Now, these Pokémon may be wild but they are told that they are allowed to choose if they want to be caught by one of the trainers here. If a Pokémon does not want to be caught, please be respectful and leave them be. Let the Pokémon enjoy the cruise as well, that includes your own! You are allowed to let your Pokémon wander with you but I must ask that you do not let out too many Pokémon of great size and weight." Seeing that they were all about to let loose, he raised his free hand. "Now, let's get this ship and party underway!"

The whole ship erupted in cheers as all the trainers were excited to be part of this, and the cruise began to set off.

Our heroes began to move around as they wanted to explore.

Misty saw a stall that had a bunch of dolls for sale and she wanted to check it out.

Brock was interested in some grooming tools that he figured could be helpful.

Avoline saw someone selling souvenirs that caught her attention.

Ash wanted to walk around and see what there was for him to see,

Avoline saw the group looking in different directions and took a breath. "I think it is ok for us to split up from here."

They all looked at her with Misty asking.

"But what if we lose each other?"

Avoline nodded before she looked around and pointed at a pillar that had a sign on it that pointed toward the kitchen and restroom. "I say that we meet by that pillar in a few hours so we can then head off somewhere together. Is that alright for you?"

Brock nodded. "That would allow us to see what there is on the ship and not lose anyone. We can head there and wait for the others before we move as a group again."

Ash nodded. "Sounds good. And we should let our Pokémon join us. Can't leave them out of the fun."

Everyone nodded before they all turned to where they wanted to go.

Avoline looked at Ash and spoke. "Make sure you have your Pokémon close to you. I don't want any trouble from you!"

Ash rolled his eyes. "I got it! I'll see you later!" He ran through the crowd to check out what there was to see.

Avoline felt nervous as she couldn't see Ash anymore, but she pulled out her Pokeballs and summoned all of her Pokémon.

The Pokémon looked around and saw that they were at a party. Avoline explained things to them when they didn't see Ash with them.

"- and that is why he isn't here. He should be ok since he will have his Pokémon with him but in case anything happens, you are all out and ready, right?"

All of the Pokémon nodded before they all moved to see what was there.

Avoline walked up to Gardevior and asked her in a soft voice. "Try to keep track of him if you can. I know there is a lot here but try to find him and if you do find him, keep an eye out."

Gardevior nodded as she let her psychic power scan the area to try and find Ash.

Ash was walking through the stalls with all his Pokémon out except for Tyrunt.

Tyrunt became extremely nervous at all the people and buried its face in Ash's leg. After seeing how scared the Pokémon was, he returned him back to the ball.

"Boy, boy, hey you, boy, come here."

Ash turned to where the voice was coming from and saw a guy with a white band wrapped around his head. "Are you talking to me?"

The man nodded and gestured for Ash to come closer. "I want you to have a look at this Pokémon."

Ash walked over to the stall and knelt down to see a Pokémon in a water tank.

"This here is the king of all carp, a Magikarp."

Ash looked at the Pokémon and examined it. "Oh."

The man picked the Pokémon out of the tank and held it out for the boy. "See how healthy it is?"

Ash was startled by being handed the Pokémon. "Woah, easy there!"

The man saw the kid be surprised by the Pokémon and he gained a glint in his eyes and a mischievous smirk. Wiping his expression away, he leaned in and whispered to the boy. "Between you and me, this Magikarp is like a Pokémon goldmine."

Ash looked up from the Magikarp in his hands at the seller. "Goldmine?"

The man nodded. "Right, a Magikarp lays one thousand eggs at a time. Each of those one thousand baby Magikarp can lay one thousand each. One thousand times one thousand is one million. That one million lays a thousand each. That's a billion Pokémon."

Ash was surprised by the number. "A billion!?"

"You can sell one Magikarp for a hundred dollars each and in three generations, you could have billions and billions of money. With that kind of money, you can go on a Pokémon shopping spree."

Ash paused at the idea of a Pokémon shopping spree as he thought about buying a ranch of his own for all the Pokémon he would meet on his journey. He would love a place like that.

The man pulled out a paper fan and began to slap it on the tabletop of his stall. "I normally charge one hundred dollars, but for you, I'll throw in an egg-laying set, a childcare set, and an education set for only three hundred dollars! So how about it!?" He pointed at the boy with the fan as he knew he hooked the boy in.

Meowzie narrowed her eyes at the man as she could tell what the man was doing. She was about to say something until.

"Actually, Magikarp can only lay a hundred eggs, and that's if the right conditions are met. If not, then it will only lay one egg."

The man froze as the boy began to speak.

Ash put the Magikarp back into the tank as he continued. "And Magikarp, even in other places that sell Pokémon from their facilities don't charge that much since Magikarp is one of the most common water Pokémon in any region."

The man's happy smile slowly became strained as the boy was calling out his lies.

"You could fish in any pond and you are more than likely gonna catch a Magikarp so the only money that you would need to spend would be for the Pokeball, which is only twenty."

The Magikarp in the tank nodded. "He knows his stuff."

Ash put a hand on his chin as he thought about what else the man was selling. "An egg-laying set and childcare set are usually sold together and they can only be bought by specified areas, like the Daycare center and a professor's lab.

The man now had several beads of sweat running down his face as his smile began to twitch.

"And for education set, there are channels on TV that you can watch that explain some stuff on how to take care of baby Pokémon." He knew this as he had seen them on TV before but he had watched some of it on the Pokémon Center TV as he was taking care of Tyrunt.

Oddish could not help but smile at how Ash was talking all this info that was clearly getting under the man's skin. "Does he even realize what he is doing to the man?"

Charmander had to cover his mouth as he did his best not to laugh.

Most of Ash's Pokémon were doing the same.

Ash then looked at the man as he asked. "Why are you trying to sell this Magikarp for a hundred?"

The man could no longer hold onto his smile as he spoke in a nervous voice. "What are you, a Pokémon fanatic?"

Pikachu smirked as she nodded. "Sounds about right for Ash."

Ash frowned at what Pikachu said. "I just know Pokémon."

The man looked at the boy and could see that he wasn't about to be called out for his lie and felt more relaxed. Once he knew that the kid wasn't going to get some security, he grumbled as he leaned his elbow on the counter and propped his head on his palm. "Bah, and I thought you were a gullible sucker." He waved his free hand in a shooing motion. "Get out of here, kid, you're bad for business."

Ash frowned harder at how this man was trying to scam him. He was about to say something till he saw there was another tank behind the man, he tilted over to the side to see it. "What about that one?"

The man shifted his head to see what was behind him. "Oh, that. It's nothing."

Ash saw the Magikarp in the tank and was surprised to see it. "Woah, can I get that one?"

The man's eyes shifted from the kid and the Magikarp and his smile returned. He honestly wanted to get rid of this one since it was sick and he was pretty sure that it was gonna die soon. If this kid wanted it, he would sell it to him. 'He probably thinks it's special or something. But I can't give it to him at a high price since he blabbed all that about the Magikarp.' After some thought, he smiled at the kid. "With all the knowledge you said, I give it to you for fifty flat. What do you say?"

"I'll take it!" Ash pulled out his wallet and handed over fifty to the man. He had plenty of money since he battled almost every trainer he met on the road.

The man took the money and tried to hide his smirk, though he did a poor job at it. He reached down and grabbed one of the "golden" Pokeballs and put the Magikarp into the ball. He handed the ball over to the kid and shooed him away. "Now that you got your Karp, get out of here kid. You're bad for business."

Ash smiled as he walked away with the Magikarp in his hand. "I can't believe that I got one. Never thought I would get one so soon."

Meowzie leaned down as she was on top of his head this time. "You do realize that he was trying to scam you out of your money, right?"

Ash nodded. "Yeah, meema taught me how to look out for people like that. I just pointed out his lies but this is more than worth what I paid."

Squirtle looked up at his trainer. "You gonna show everyone else?"

Ash nodded. "of course, but let's look around and see what else we can find."

His Pokémon cheered as they began to walk deeper into the stalls.

Ash paused as he saw a few Pokémon walking around, ones he knew that weren't part of the Kanto region and he ran off to see them, with his Pokémon following him.

As they left, a set of eyes watched the boy before following.

Brock was looking at the grooming kit that one of the stalls had. He picked up one of the Pokémon brushes for Pokémon that had fur and a polishing rag that was meant for Pokémon with harder skin, like ground and rock types. "These would be good for my Pokémon. What do you think, Geodude?"

Geodude looked up at the rag and nodded. "That will be a nice way to relax."

Brock nodded as he looked back at the seller. "I'll take a set." He paid for the product before putting it into his pack. He looked at Zubat, who was on his shoulder before looking at Geodude. "I'll use it on you when we get back to land. Wonder if the others will like using it for their Pokémon. I know Ash will cause he has a lot of Pokémon under his belt."

He only let these two Pokémon out because Relicanth would prefer to be out where there is water, and Onix is too big for the area.

Once he had the set in his pack, he threw it onto his back and looked around. He didn't have to get any supplies for their trio since they already did that when they first arrived in town. So right now, he figured he should just look around and see what he could get, just for fun, or to send back to his siblings. He then saw a stall that sold Pokémon keychains. He smiled wide as he ran over to it and looked at the different versions he saw on sale. He saw several of Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Onix, and even an Omanyte. He bought one of each for each of his siblings.

Safe to say, the vendor was surprised by the amount of them. Sure they weren't that expensive but still.

Brock was happy with his purchase and hoped his family back home liked them.

Misty walked onto the bow of the ship and saw there were large patches of different terrain.

She didn't have any of her Pokémon out since they were all water Pokémon and preferred to be in the water. She could have summoned Staryu or Starmie, but with their movement speed, they would not have been able to keep up with her walking speed and they might have gotten swept away by the crowd.

But she saw there was a pool on the left side of the bow, next to a patch of grass. "They went all out on this cruise. It really is meant for all kinds of Pokémon." She ran over to the pool and threw up all her Pokeballs. "Come out!"

All of her Pokémon came out in the pool and began to swim around.

Misty smiled at the sight and sat down as she took off her shoes and socks so she could put her feet in the water. She looked in the water and saw there were so many other Pokémon in the water.

Feebas swam up to her and bumped into her leg.

Misty looked down and petted the top of her Pokémon's head. "I know my sisters laughed at me because Ash said you were perfect for me, but I don't care about that anymore. I'm glad you joined my team."

Feebas eye smiled at her before she tugged her trainer to get her in the water.

Misty felt the tug and smiled. "Why not." she took off her pack and laid it on the edge of the pool and slipped into the water. Once in, she saw so many different kinds of water Pokémon.

Dewgongs, Seals, Squirtles. Poliwags, Woopers, Shelders, Goldeens, even Mantines.

She thought the size of the pool to be incredible and she swam around with the Pokémon. Tirtouga swam around her and she grabbed onto his shell as the Pokémon swam through the water.

Misty was enjoying her time with her water Pokémon and some other Pokémon that were there, some of which she wasn't sure if they belonged to other trainers or were wild Pokémon since the captain did announce that there were some on the ship. She wondered if she could find a wild water Pokémon that she could catch but for now, she would enjoy the water.

Avoline was looking at a stall that was run by one of her cousins. This was a cousin that she didn't know but she learned this was one that was stationed in one of the Pokémon centers that were in the mountains.

"I must say, you have a good assortment of Pokémon for on-the-field medical practices."

Avoline nodded. "Most of these Pokémon are from my mother. I am on a journey with friends and she knew that I would need Pokémon that would be good for on-field healing and to protect my friends and I."

The nurse Joy nodded. "She gave you a good team. Is there anything that you might need for your journey? There are some potions, revives, status heals, and many other products. We even have a small portable healing station, though it will take time since it can only heal two Pokémon at a time."

Avoline hummed in thought. She was sure that she had resupplied while at port but you never know. "Is there anything you can recommend? I want to make sure I don't miss anything. Especially since one of them always seems to get into trouble."

Nurse Joy nodded. "Always look out for your friends. I have a few recommendations but I won't hold you too long so you can catch up with your friends."

Avoline and Nurse Joy began to go over anything the young nurse might need.

All the while, Gardevior kept her mind focused on Ash's location. She did lose track of him since there were so many excited emotions on the ship. She did find him every now and then but she would lose it after a few seconds. Right now, she was trying to find Ash since he was running around the ship. 'Probably looking at everything Pokémon related, which probably is everything.'

Suddenly, the captain's voice was heard on the speakers so everyone on the ship could hear him.

{Attention, everyone. We will soon be coming to a stop so that many of you can enjoy the surrounding ocean. Fishing, swimming, exploring, please enjoy your time on the sea.}

Everyone on the ship grew excited about this and several of them began to make their way outside so they could check out the ocean.

Ash was one of the trainers who was about to head out to see if there were any Pokémon that would have been in the ocean, but he was stopped when he saw Misty running toward him. He noticed that she was wet but didn't know why. Once the girl was close enough, he asked her. "Misty, what's the rush?"

Misty was glad that she was able to find Ash so quickly but she was still in a rush. "Ash, where is everyone else?"

Ash tilted his head as he asked. "I don't know. I haven't seen any of them while going around. Why?"

Misty pointed back toward where she came from. 'It's Feebas!"

Ash wondered what was wrong with Feebas but he soon realized what this might be. He looked up at Pidgeotto and ordered. "Pidgeotto, find Avoline and Brock and get them to come here."

"Got it!" He flew off to find their friends.

Ash looked to Misty and asked. "What is going on with Feebas exactly?"

Misty was bouncing on her feet as she was being impatient. "She started to glow all of a sudden but she stopped doing it and started to look like she was in pain. I asked what was wrong but she didn't seem to give me an answer. When I asked if I should bring you guys, she nodded and I ran to find you. You were the first one I found and, you know."

Ash winced as he had an idea of what was going on. He really hoped that Pidgeotto got here soon with-.

"Ash!"

Misty and Ash looked over to see that Pidgeotto had brought them over.

Ash looked at Avoline and spoke. "It's time for Feebas and I think she wants us all there to see it."

Avoline paused at the news but she nodded with a smile. "Let's go!"

Misty ran back to where the pool was with the rest of them following.

Misty led the group back to the pool and saw her Feebas still there, still glowing and in pain. She assumed it was the evolutionary glow but she had never seen a Pokémon in pain when evolving and seeing the glow fade in and out.

When the group made it to the Feebas, Ash knelt down to the Fish Pokémon.

He smiled at her as he asked. "Want me to bring you to the surface so that you can be seen fully?"

Feebas nodded as she didn't want to say anything as she was afraid it might cause her to evolve.

Ash picked up the fish Pokémon and placed her in front of everyone. "Go ahead."

Feebas finally relaxed and the fading glow took over.

Misty put a hand over her mouth as she watched Feebas evolving. She didn't know that Feebas could evolve but she was in awe at the sight of the evolution.

Feebas reshaped into a more serpent form and grew in size, with a fan like tail, long hair-like frills, and two antennae coming out the side of her head

The group watched with smiles as Feebas finally finished her evolution.

With a cry to the world, Feebas had evolved into Milotic.

Misty was shocked to see her fish Pokémon evolve into this beautiful form. "She's gorgeous."

Avoline and Ash moved to stand next to Milotic and looked at Misty. They spoke in tandem as they gestured to the new Pokémon. "Misty, welcome your new Milotic."

Misty stepped forward and cupped Milotic's face. "This is incredible." She laughed when Milotic nuzzled into her,

Brock looked at the other two and crossed his arms with a knowing smirk. "You two planned this, did you?"

Ash and Avoline looked at each other before busting out laughing.

There was a crowd of people that had seen the evolution and they all applauded the new Pokémon evolution and the trainer that gained it.

Misty hugged Milotic's head before looking at Ash. "Thanks, Ash, she is incredible." She smiled when Millotic curled around, placing her head next to her own.

Ash put his hands behind his head with a big cheeky smile. "You're welcome."

~That night~

The group was walking through one of the hallways as they were looking for something.

Brock looked down at his ticket as he spoke. "It should be around here somewhere."

Misty had a big smile on her face as she was still in a good mood from having her Feebas evolve into a Milotic. She had spent a good amount of time looking over Milotic to memorize everything about the beautiful Pokémon. She followed them with her arms swinging as she walked. "Well, no matter where they are, I'm sure they will be amazing, like the rest of the ship."

Avoline smiled as she looked up at the numbers on the wall. "They should be around~... Here."

The group made it to the four rooms that were set up for the ones with their tickets.

Brock opened the door and looked inside the room. "Woah, these are some pretty nice rooms."

The rooms were a decent size with a bed on the side of the room, completely set with a red carpet floor, a set of nightstands, and a TV on the opposite wall. There were even windows that showed the ocean beyond.

Ash looked in and smiled. "There's enough room for our Pokémon to sleep in here too."

Brock chuckled. "Speak for yourself. Onix would take the whole thing and I would have to sleep outside."

They all chuckled at this before Avoline looked at Ash.

"Now, Ash, I am letting you sleep by yourself. So make sure that you wear your proper PJs, don't stray away from your room, and lock your door."

Ash sighed as she was being too overprotective again. "I know, Avoline."

"Good."

Misty looked at Ash as she brought up something they talked about before. "Hey, Ash, what say we have a battle tomorrow? I want to see how much stronger Milotic has gotten. And you did say you wanted to show us something."

Ash nodded with a large smile. "Yeah, and if the ship is staying put for a bit in the morning, we can see if there are any Pokémon in the ocean."

Misty was excited to hear that. "Ooh, I can't wait!"

The group began to separate and go into their rooms. They were right next to each other so there wasn't much of a separation.

Ash bid Avoline good night as she was in the room next to his own before walking to his room door. As he got to his door, he heard a voice talking to him.

"Would you mind if we accompany you, young one?"

Ash paused as he looked to his left at who had spoken and saw three Pokémon standing several feet away.

The one that spoke stepped forward and spoke in a cool mature female voice. "I would like to join you while you are here."

The one that spoke was an Absol while the two behind her were a Poocheyena and a Mighteyena.

All of Ash's Pokémon narrowed their eyes on the three newcomers as they didn't know what they were after. It was suspicious that a few random Pokémon walked up to them and asked to join them. Then again, several of them did something similar

Ash was curious about these three but he didn't think there was anything wrong with them being here so he allowed them to join him in the room. He just had a feeling that there was no problem. "Sure, come on in." He walked into the room.

Absol showed no reaction to the fact that Ash responded to her words as she followed after all of them entered the room.

Ash stared out the window wall as he could see several Pokémon swimming around. He saw all his Pokémon look around the room before he put his pack down before digging through it and pulling out his PJs. "So why did you want to join us? Do you belong to someone?"

"I have no trainer and the reason I wanted to come with you is….curiosity."

Ash got dressed in his PJs before taking out his new golden Pokeball and placing it on the nightstand. "What were you curious about? The amount of Pokémon I had with me or something?"

She paused when he answered her but she showed no real reaction. "...I shall keep it to myself for now." The Absol chose not to inform him as she had learned that people do not like it when you tell them there is trouble around the corner.

Ash tilted his head as he pulled out another Pokeball. He opened it to release Tyrunt from its ball.

Once it was out of its ball, it looked around and saw that it wasn't the crowded room as before. "Runt!" it ran up to Ash and nuzzled into his leg.

Ash smiled at the Pokémon before picking him up. "Sorry about earlier, I'll make sure you don't go somewhere you don't want to go." He laughed when Tyrunt opened its mouth and gently bit down on his head. It didn't hurt as it was more like nibbles.

Pikachu then looked at Mighteyna. "What about you two?" She was about to ask another question but she felt a paw on her head and looked up to see Lucario looking at her.

Lucario shook its head before tilting it up to face the two dark-type canines. It stared at them for a few seconds before looking elsewhere.

Ash yawned as now that he was in a bedroom, he felt all his energy leave him. He crawled onto the bed and laid on the sheets before grabbing a pillow. His eyes widened when he felt the bed shift multiple times and then there was a weight placed on top of him. He smiled as he saw that all of his Pokémon, apart from Lucario and the newcomers. He laughed as he hugged them. "Well, whatever your reason, I'm glad to have met you." He closed his eyes as he was ready to fall asleep while excited for tomorrow.

Misty entered her room and placed her pack on the desk that was next to the TV.

The desk was the only thing that was different from the other rooms.

She pulled out her Pokeballs and let out her Pokémon. "Come on out!"

All of her Pokémon came out of their Pokeballs and surrounded Misty. They all looked at their surroundings before they noticed the "new" addition.

Misty picked up her Goldeen and placed her on the bed so that she would be able to see Milotic. Once she was sure that Goldeen was set, she moved over to stand next to Milotic. "Everyone, I want you to congratulate Feebas for evolving into Milotic." She placed a hand on Milotic's neck as all of her Pokémon cheered for Milotic. After a minute, she looked at the rest of her Pokémon. "I have Ash and Avoline to thank for letting me have her and helping me evolve her in her unique way." She turned her head in the direction of Avoline and Ash's room and gave it a flat look. "Though they could have told me that was what I was doing."

Milotic smiled as she knew why they didn't tell her. "If they did, you wouldn't be as surprised."

Misty looked at Milotic and could see the smile she had. She smiled back and hugged her. "Well, I guess it was a good surprise." she then spoke in a serious tone. "He better not think this is good enough to pay for my bike." Getting back into a better mood, she looked at her other Pokémon. "I also think that we should do our best to become better. Once we have returned, we are gonna do some training ourselves. Can't let Ash be the only one to get better, and maybe you will all be just as good as my Professional team."

All of her Pokémon cheered as they were excited about getting better.

Brock was smiling as he was using the new polish he got from the vendor. "Looks like this was a good buy, what do you think?"

"I wish you did this earlier."

Hearing Onix's pleased cry, he assumed that it was similar to a massage. "Yeah, if we find the vendor again, we might get another one for later on.

Brock was sitting on Onix's back as the Pokémon was lying on the ground. There was just enough room for Onix to be brought out and lay around the room. He wanted to use it on Onix since he wasn't allowed to bring him out while they were in the main room. This was a way of paying back his Pokémon for missing out.

Avoline was sitting on the bed as her mind went to Ash who was in the room next to hers. This was a bit odd for her to not be sleeping in the same room but things were set up as they were. She knows she shouldn't worry so much but she had been doing it for several months now and she couldn't help it.

She felt the bed shift and saw her Pokémon sitting around her. They were all giving her supporting, understanding smiles. She let out a sigh as she understood what they were trying to tell her. "I know that I shouldn't worry like this since I feel like I should start giving him some more space. This is his journey." She let out a sigh as she got up and undressed herself. She moved over to the window and looked out to the ocean. "Am I being too overbearing?" She felt her Pokémon surround her and she knew that she was being silly for this. She had a solid reason and there was nothing that would convince her that she didn't have one. She put her hand on her chest and nodded. "Yeah, I am being silly." She moved to her bed, and got dressed in her pajamas, instead of her nurse outfit, before laying down. She sighed as she looked up at the ceiling. She lay there for a few seconds before she sat up, moved to the edge of the bed, and reached down to her pack before pulling out her notebook. She opened it before using the pen inside to write some things down. "Ash doesn't show any signs of being seasick. Perhaps this is a sign of equilibrium that is capable of quick movement thanks to his tail and different body structure. Tomorrow will do an examination during his sleep to see if there is any change in his fur due to the sea air."

Each of her Pokémon rolled their eyes as Avoline was trained to be Ash's guardian and personal physician. They each set themselves in a comfortable spot so they could get some rest.

Gardevior's eyes shifted to the side, at the wall that separated them and Ash, using her abilities to see if there was anything to be concerned about.

~Elsewhere~

Giovanni looked at all the screens in front of him as he smirked at how his plan was going smoothly. "Perfect, it won't be long now." The footage showed several of the main areas that had trainers wandering around. They were recordings of the entire day, when all of the Pokémon were there. There were barely any cameras in the residential cabins and none in the personal rooms, but it was enough to see where everyone was. He was interested in all the Pokémon that trainers had walking beside them, even witnessed the evolution of a Pokémon not from this region.

"Is there a reason you must watch these surveillance footage?"

Giovanni nodded. "I prefer to keep an eye on my investments."

Mewtwo hummed at that before he looked at the screens. He himself didn't see why this man would try to capture Pokémon that belonged to others when he was capable of capturing Pokémon. But this did not concern him so he will let Giovanni do what he wishes.

Giovanni then thought about another investment that he had not checked in on in quite some time. But at the moment, he already had an all-powerful Pokémon, and letting it know that there is another of his kind has some risks. So for now, he won't pester those scientists. When he is sure there would be no harsh reaction from the Pokémon, then he will bring in the other one.

Getting back to the matter, he pressed a button and spoke. "Are all agents ready for my mark?" He heard several confirmations from different squads of Team Rocket members. "Good, make sure all equipment is functional, I expect no failures."

{SIR!}

Absol stared at the sleeping legendary on the bed with her eyes only slightly widened.

The funny thing was that he was almost buried in all of his Pokémon on the bed. The only one not on the bed was Lucario as it was sitting on the floor with its back on the edge of the bed, almost as if it was guarding Ash.

"I am surprised to see that he is a young legendary."

Pikachu looked at Absol, who was sitting by the window wall. She whispered out. "So why did you want to hang around us? Is it the feeling that he is giving off?"

Absol shifted her red eyes at Pikachu before shaking her head. "It is not his presence that is why I chose to ask to stay with him. There is trouble coming, and I can feel it more fiercely around him…. And it is in my nature to warn others about oncoming danger."

Lucario shifted its head to face Absol with Pikachu bristling.

Pikachu did her best not to shout. "Are you saying that there is something that is gonna harm Ash?!"

Absol shook her head. "It is a general danger that I sense but it was more prominent around him. He may be the cause of the danger or he will be closest to it when it happens. Either way, I will stick around in order to warn him when it happens. Right now, I do not detect anything but I wish to be cautious."

Pikachu wasn't sure about this but if Absol is able to detect danger, it might help them be ready. She then looked at the Mightyena and Poochyana. "And why are you two here? Why did you want to follow Ash?" Lucario may have vouched for them but she still wanted to know.

Mighteyena spoke up as she layed in the corner with Poochyena lying on her. "We have our reasons. Let me just say that the boy….interests us."

Absol saw the untrusting expression on Pikachu's face and tried to ease the tension. "Don't worry, they are not the threat I felt. They joined me when they saw that I was eyeing the young legendary, but I did not sense them to be a threat. So you can be sure that they pose no threat while here."

Pikachu sighed as she would have to trust her word. And besides, Ash was covered in Pokémon and Lucario is almost always on alert. She decided that she should just get some sleep. She snuggled into Ash's side and shifted her portion of his tail to be over her as a blanket. "Just know that we will all protect our trainer no matter what." She slowly closed her eyes as she was ready to fall asleep. The last thing she saw before joining her friends was the golden Pokeball. 'Wonder what Misty, Brock, and Avoline will say when they see our new friend.'

~elsewhere~

Within a tank, a pair of ruby eyes opened to see the white coats walking around, speaking about things that she didn't care for. Her eyes shimmered blue before they closed up. 'Ash.'

End of chapter

Rest in peace, Rachael Lillis

Originally, Feebas wasn't going to evolve until the next chapter but in honor of Rachael, I decided to let it evolve now.

As you have noticed as you read this, the time on the ship is gonna be longer than the original anime. I liked the ST Anne episode and I want to extend it. Not to mention that there are so many things to do on a cruise and a cruise with Pokemon obviously will have so much to it.

New friends! Because there are so many pokemon that are so cool and I just can't stop. Don't stop me now~ I'm having such a good time. I'm having a ball.

For the Magikarp vendor, I really wanted to do something with him as that kind of sleazy man deserves to be hit with karma. But there wasn't much I could do so I decided to just have Ash call the man's bluff. Along with something else but that will be for later.

Absol, I just can't help but see her as a cool beauty. I have a voice in my head for how she sounds but tell me what you hear when you read her section.

Hope you look forward to the next chapter of the Saint Anne
