So this fic will probably end up being pretty long. I'll be updating a minimum of once a month but hopefully more often. There won't be a great deal of plot, and if your looking for angst and smut you are in the wrong place. This is just going to be a fluffy happier version of Harry's childhood.

It was a sunny morning in July and Molly Weasley was frying bacon when she heard the knock. She made her way to the door as quickly as possible, providing she had to detour to lift Ron away from the twins' pinching fingers. Before opening the door she balanced Ron on her hip and sternly told her children she expected them to be on their best behaviour for whoever it was. The cracked coloured glass of the front door prevented her making out who it was that was bothering her family on a quiet Monday morning.
Albus Dumbledore bowed his head respectfully while waiting for Molly to get over her shock and invite him in.
'I um Dumbledore Headmaster… come in.'
He smiled.
'Thank you Molly dear. Is Arthur in?'
Hastily dropping Ron and grabbing Ginny to stop her tumbling from the chair, she replied rather anxiously.
'No he had to dash off to work. Some mad teapot has ended up in a Muggle's house. I doubt he'll be back until late. What do you need to talk to him about?'
'I need to talk to both of you rather urgently about a child.'
'I… I'm so sorry for whatever they've got involved in professor, honestly! Is it Bill?' She turned in panic to her fourteen year old son who had taken over the frying of the bacon.
He shrugged at her, nonplussed.
'Or charlie. He… he's still in bed but I can go get him! I'm so sorry for the trouble!'
Dumbledore had stood patiently waiting for her to finish fussing.
'It's not about your children Molly. I'm sure they're all angels.' He said the last part while watching the twins try to feed Ron a worm from one of their pockets, with a twinkle in his eye.
Following his gaze she reached down and slapped the worm out of Fred's sticky hands.
'Whose it about then?' She said, absentmindedly straightening her hair.
'Harry Potter.'
All six of the present Weasley children stopped moving. Even little Ginny, at three years old, knew what that name meant.
'I understand this is a huge ask Molly, but how would you and Arthur feel about caring for the boy?'
Molly flopped into a chair in shock. She didn't stay there long however, for she had parked herself on a fizzing rubber gummy bat. She kept her eyes fixed on Dumbledore in shock while she scolded the twins for leaving it lying around.
At a complete loss for words she turned to her children and ordered them into the garden to play.
'But mum, the bacon?' Bill protested weakly holding up the frying pan.
'I'll make more.' She ran over, took the pan from him, placed Ginny in his arms and then shunted her children from the room.
When she had closed the door firmly behind them she turned to Dumbledore apologising profusely for the chaos.
'Not at all my dear.' He said kindly. 'You do a wonderful job.'
Smiling a little disbelievingly, she offered him a chair.
He sat himself down gratefully after surreptitiously checking the twins had not left anything on it.
After she had thrown herself down on a chair opposite her began.
'You will of course be aware that Harry Potter was sent away to live with Muggles.'
She nodded her assent and he continued. 'I arranged for him to go to his mother's sister. I had hoped they would treat him, if not like a son, at least passably. They didn't. A neighbour called the authorities to say they had seen him being chased and bitten by a dog while the family looked on, laughing.'
Molly's eyebrows had disappeared into her messy hair. The idea that a woman could treat any child, nevermind her nephew, like that was beyond belief. Without stopping to consider she said, 'we'll take him.'
Dumbledore seemed taken back by such a sudden response.
'If you're sure…'
'Positive.' She knew she really ought to have talked to Arthur about it but really, what difference did one more child make.
'You understand I will have to place some wards around the burrow for all of your safety?'
'Yes, whatever you think is best. When will you bring him?'
'Tonight, if that's alright. I don't want to leave him with his aunt any longer than strictly necessary.'
'Alright, tonight.'
Dumbledore was not altogether surprised. He knew just how much the Weasleys loved children.
With a wave he stepped from the kitchen and disapparated.
Molly ran her fingers through her tangled hair. It seemed they'd gained another child.
