Hello everyone, here I bring you a new chapter of this story. I read the comments and saw one that caught my attention and made me reflect a bit, and it is true what he told me about the abuse of girls.
In the last chapters, as you read, I wrote that I wore maid and doctor costumes, although that makes it more restrained and gives it something of that kind of comedy in anime, I realized that what I was doing was literally repetitive and the truth is that it is true that this can get a little angry others. It's funny, but if it gets too repetitive it becomes a bit testy.
And I'll heed the request, I'm going to stop with that kind of joke. But don't worry, that doesn't mean that some jokes stop happening but I'll have to relax and sit more in my writing to avoid these mistakes.
I want to apologize if some users I know felt irritated by repeating the same joke more than once, now with nothing more to say. Here is the chapter, enjoy it.
Many times, we always have sides that we don't want to show. Sometimes we want to cry and scream but we can't, sometimes we hide our true face from the world by hiding the wounds and scars we have.
I can't lie, there were many times at night that I cried silently, times when I couldn't sleep well and sometimes after a patrol I would always sit on the edge of a building to be alone and think about everything.
I'm not lying, I love my new life. Now I am what I always wanted to be even though where I was it was impossible, but. What did it cost? My parents, my brothers, grandparents, uncles, cousins. What was the use of being in a new place, if you lose everything that mattered most to you and what always kept you happy.
The girls don't know, and to be honest. I don't want them to know, I know we're a team and teams shouldn't have secrets, but I can't let them know. I saw it in their eyes when I told them the whole truth about me, they seemed very sad and hurt. My trust in them is very great, but there are things I don't want them to see about me.
The alarm on my cell phone started to ring as I got up a little tired, I turned off the alarm before going to the bathroom to prepare for another day of school.
When I was done I went downstairs to wait for Diana but only saw a note and a plate of pancakes. When I took the letter I saw what she had written.
"Hello Benja, forgive me for not being present this morning by your side. I went to see Tatsu, the two of us are going to train together before going to class. I prepared these pancakes just for you, I hope you like them. With love, Diana." When I finished reading the letter I sat down at the table and felt the emptiness of the room.
I looked around but could only see how empty the place was. The empty chairs, nobody spoke, did not hear footsteps. To be honest, I could even hear the sound of a needle hitting the ground.
"It's still early. I think I could go for a walk." I said as I start to eat the pancakes.
After eating I left the house before starting to walk through the streets. I tried to think of something else, I tried to think of some way to control my magic but it was useless. Everywhere I saw happy families, fathers playing with their children, babies in their mothers' arms, siblings playing with each other.
"Hahaha, fine son. Way to go." I stopped to turn around to see a father and his son playing together.
"Haha, thanks dad." Said the boy while he and his father continued playing.
As if reality was altered, now in front of me there was a memory of my father and I playing together. My father's laughter, his smile and his happiness. He made it feel like my heart had been going through it hard. However he was brought out of my thoughts when I felt a drop of water on my head and when that happened again I was in Metropolis.
I saw that the sky seemed cloudy and it was starting to rain, when I saw that I only limited myself to taking out my umbrella before continuing walking but I was shedding tears while my eyes seemed off.
When I got to school I started to organize my locker before closing it, when I saw my team quickly approaching I pretended to be happy.
"Hello Benja! How are you?" Barbara asked with a huge smile.
"Hey girls, I'm fine hehe. Just a little wet." I said with a smile but Barbara seemed to be looking at my smile analytically.
"I'm very sorry to have left you Benja today." Diana said with a smile something embarrassed.
"It's okay, do not worry, I just hope that Tatsu and you have fun." I said smiling. At that time the moment was interrupted when we heard the timbre of the school.
"We'd better go to class, see you later Snowball." Kara said with a smile as we headed to class.
I stopped smiling when the girls left and simply closed my locker before walking to my classroom. I was hoping that this day would end as quickly as possible.
The classes passed normally although it was a bit difficult for me to fake happiness with my team. I know I should tell you guys how I feel, but I didn't want to be a bother. I was now finishing my math homework as there were five minutes left in class.
"Very well children. Before classes end, your history teacher asked me to please form groups of two to do a special task. You will have to make your family tree with a partner, very well these are the groups." The teacher said while he said the names.
"And last but not least, Doris Zuel and Benjamín Escudero." When I heard that I looked to the side only to get a little scared when I saw the girl looking at me seriously.
When I left I decided to wait for Doris outside, the girl had told me that she had something to do. I looked at the sky while I thought about what to do, it would be very difficult to talk about my family tree without the help of my family. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard Doris growl.
"Oh hello Doris. Is everything okay?" I ask curiously but I fell silent when I saw the girl growl in a threatening manner causing me to remain silent.
"My problems shouldn't matter nerd, come on." The girl said as I took out my umbrella. When we left the school we saw Leslie laughing with Selina while the two of them were in a car.
"Bye Doris, enjoy your day with your boyfriend!!" She yelled at Doris's best friend before walking off laughing with Selina.
"Grr, fuck you Leslie!!" Doris yelled annoyed.
"Umm, is everything okay?" I asked worried. However, I fell silent when I saw Doris's murderous look.
"Shut up Nerd. Let's go, before this shit gets worse." Doris said as she and I started walking to the girl's house since she was the closest.
The walk was very long but also uncomfortable. I didn't know what to say or ask Doris, I was afraid the girl would be mad at me like the last time she mistakenly hit her butt with the ball in gym.
"This is your house?." I asked curious seeing the girl's house.
"Yeah, shut up and let's go in." Doris said as she took out a key and unlocked the door.
"Hi honey, how about your day?" Asked a woman who wore scientist clothes like her husband
"Wow, I see that you brought a new friend, we did not think you would bring someone today." Doris's father said with a smile.
"Do not bother, Nerds. Only he is here to do a task with me and nothing else." Doris said annoyed as she went up to her room and left me with her parents.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." I said with a smile as I greeted Doris's parents.
"Come on Nerd!! I didn't bring you here to talk to those idiots!!" Doris yelled from her room.
Without saying anything I started to go up to Doris's room but I could see out of the corner of my eye that Doris's mother seemed to sigh and have a sad expression while her husband was supporting her.
When I walked into the girl's room I couldn't help but be surprised to see that Doris had multiple photos of me and my team in her training gear.
"What? Are you surprised that I don't have any ponies or that everything is pink?" Doris asked with a raised eyebrow as she slammed a punching bag with a photo of Diana in her hero outfit.
"Well, I guess everyone has their tastes right? I respect that." I said with a nervous smile causing Doris to roll her eyes before sitting on her bed.
"Well, how about we talk about your family tree?" I asked with a nervous smile but at that moment Doris's mother came in with a tray full of food.
"What do you want nerd?" Doris asked annoyed.
"Well, I thought you might be hungry after a long day at school. So I brought you some toast with jam and a cup of tea." Doris's mother said with a smile.
"Agh. Don't bother nerd, when I want something I'll let you know. Now go, can't you see we're busy!!" Doris yelled annoyed.
"Oh is well honey, let me know if you need something." Doris's mother said with a smile. Doris did not know it but I do, his mother's gaze reflected sadness and at any moment she could cry. I knew it after all, I knew that look perfectly.
"What a discomfort, do not believe it nerd?. She all thinks that I need her stupid smile and above all those pathetic gestures of kindness. What a ridiculous." Doris said as she laughed. When I heard that I tightened my teeth while trying to keep me calm.
"Hahahaha, you know something nerd? My life would be much better without having these nerds storbandome, all the time wanting to teach me those silly scientific things, taking me to their boring and foolish work and wanting to spend time with me. They are only a nuisance." Doris said as she was still laughing.
"Doris, please enough." I said as I tried to be calm but it was difficult with some memories coming to my mind.
"I wish they left me. They are only idiots." Doris did not notice it, but I was listening to sobs which made my hair cover my face before getting up.
"See you later Doris Zuel." I said seriously as I left the room surprising the girl.
"Hey nerd! Where do you think you're going to go! You can not leave me alone!" Doris shouted angry as she followed me.
"I'm very sure you'll find a way to do your part of the task, I'll do mine." I said seriously before leaving Doris's house but she stopped me as we were in the rain.
"What is your damn problem!?" Doris asked annoying.
"What is my problem?. That's what I want to know about you Doris, because you're so cold and rude with your parents!? They just want to help." I said as I look at the girl.
"And what? They are bastards and just said the truth it has." Before Doris could continue talking suddenly, I gave him a slap, making the girl surprised and she stood silent.
"Shut up !!. You have no idea what you are saying!" I screamed with anger.
"You do not know, but your words hurt your parents, love you and you pay like this!. Are your parents Doris!". I screamed as I looked at the girl in her eye.
"What the hell is wrong with you!? Don't you have arguments with your parents!" Doris yelled in annoyance.
"I don't have parents anymore!!" I yelled causing lightning to strike and everything went silent.
"Do you want to know something about me, Doris? I'm alone, I don't have anyone. Do you think it's easy for me to spend every day having a smile and pretending to be fine!? You have no idea how difficult my life is! !." I yelled as she looked at Doris with tears.
"You don't know how lucky you are to have a family, Doris. Do you know how much I miss a hug from my mom? A good morning from my dad? Or even hear the voices of my brothers? I have nothing else. I lost everything. I said while looking at Doris.
"Someday Doris. You'll regret what you said, the day you're alone and no one is around to help you. Leslie may be your best friend just like Selina, Pam, Harleen and Carol. But the day you're alone and what you need is the support of a family, you will realize the mistake you made by treating your parents badly." I said coldly before taking my umbrella and opening it.
"I don't know why he told you all this. If you don't care about anything, I thought at least if you are bothered by others at school. You could show a softer side with your family. But I was wrong, good luck with your part Doris . See you tomorrow." I said seriously before leaving Doris in the rain.
Doris was clearly petrified. I never expected this reaction, much less what I told him. At that moment Doris's mother would be at the door of the house.
The night arrives. Doris was lying on her bed staring at the ceiling, my words still echoing in her mind. The girl would get up and she started to growl due to anger.
"Damn nerd. I'm going to show him he's wrong." The girl said as she got up and would walk to her parents' room to get something.
Her parents had left for a meeting a couple of minutes ago and now Doris was alone so there would be no problem getting into her parents' room. The redhead searched and searched until she found some DVDs and a family album.
"I'll prove that nerd wrong, surely when I was a child I was more gentle with these nerds." Doris said with a smile full of confidence before playing a video of her birthday but.
"Happy Birthday Sweetheart." Doris's mother said as she placed a cake in front of a girl. The girl was wearing princess clothes but her expression showed annoyance.
"Come on little princess, make a wish." Doris's father said that he was holding the camera but the girl just knocked over the butterfly cake.
Doris seeing what she did quickly removed the DVD. She didn't want to know what happened after that moment.
"Maybe this one. This one might prove I wasn't that bad." Doris said as she played another dvd.
No matter how hard she tried, the truth came out very clearly on the recordings. Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Birthdays, New Year's Eve Parties, First Day of School. All the most important moments in the city of Doris it could be clearly seen that she never showed a smile or was at least friendly with her parents.
"No, no no. This must be a lie, this must be a dream." Doris said as she now went through her family album but no picture showed her happy or smiling. She always showing a serious face and a very rude attitude.
Doris was completely frozen. Everything came to him at once. My words, the way she treated her parents, and our discussion. It was all a strong blow like the slap I had given him.
"That nerd. He's right, agh. This is incredible, now I listen to what you tell me a pervert but." Doris got up and touched her cheek remembering what happened.
"I guess so. I'll have to excuse myself, a lot." Doris said as she watched with her head lowered. Suddenly Doris's parents' car would arrive causing the girl to quickly grab the things and put them in her place before her. However, the door would be heard opening.
"Doris?. Honey?. It's too late, something happened?" Doris's mother asked concerned.
"Umm, yeah. I was just looking for some water." Doris said as the redhead had the photo album on her back.
"Oh okay, well we'll go to sleep. Don't stay up late." Doris's father said as he and his wife went to her room.
"Umm, yes. Rest." the redhead said as she watched her parents walk up the stairs.
"Shit, this is going to be harder than I thought. I'm not going to ask Leslie for help, she wouldn't stop laughing at me if I asked her for this." Doris said as she thought about what to do. Selina would laugh too, Harleen and Pam even though they are her friends, Doris wasn't crazy enough to ask them to help her. And she wouldn't call Carol.
"I guess I have one person left... I just hope he can forgive me so he can help me." Doris she said as she walked to her room and went to sleep.
I was in the kitchen cooking dinner, Diana had called me and said that Tatsu would be here for dinner. Suddenly the door opened and I heard the laughter of the Amazon warrior and the girl enter.
"Hi Benja, I'm so sorry for the delay. Tatsu and I were having fun at our fencing practice." Diana said as she and I gave each other a little kiss.
"Don't worry Diana, they're fine. The important thing is that they're okay." I said smiling but Tatsu noticed something strange in me.
"I'm going to take a shower. Tatsu, if you want you can stay with Benja. I'll be right back." Diana said as she went up to the bathroom and left me alone with Tatsu.
"Benja, are you okay?" Stop cutting the vegetables because of the Tatsu question.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked curiously as the girl sat down at the table.
"Benja. I may not be an expert in emotions, but I can see in your eyes that you are not well. Please tell me, what is the matter?" Tatsu asked as I just sighed and put things down.
"It's my family. Tatsu, there is a part of me that you don't know. Only Diana and the rest of the girls know my truth." I said while keeping my head down.
"You can tell me. I can help you." Tatsu said with a smile.
"Tatsu, are you sure?" I asked worried.
"Trust me. You have my word." The girl said with a smile.
After a few minutes I told Tatsu the whole truth. My origin until my reincarnation here, the girl's expression was one of complete astonishment and disbelief upon hearing everything I said.
"And after that Sebastián left me and promised me that he would take care of my family, so I went out into the street but some policemen stopped me and took me to school. I met the girls and my life as a hero began here. I said while looking at Tatsu.
"Benja. Me, I have no words. Everything you said is incredible and I see why I notice you differently." Tatsu said causing me to look away.
"There are things that I regret, Tatsu. Before arriving here in my other life I had many arguments and fights with my parents, maybe we loved each other a lot but that didn't prevent us from having arguments over some problems." I said while looking at everything with sadness.
"Every night I regret everything I did. Sometimes I would like to see them again even for once and apologize for everything I did and for all the arguments. But above all, I would like to be with them once again and to feel again the affection of a hug that a mother gives you." I said as I start to shed some tears due to the pain.
"I always try to be okay, but I can't. I always pretend to be happy to keep the girls from knowing my sadness, but today I can't take it anymore. I exploded against Doris, she and I were supposed to do a job but she started to act cold and it would be with his parents and when I heard his mother cry I couldn't take it anymore." I said while remembering everything.
Tatsu upon hearing this would put a hand on mine making me look at her.
"I know how you feel Benja. I know, and I'm very sorry for what happened to you. I know that the pain of that separation from your family was surely devastating, however. There is only one option." The girl said making me look at her.
"Move on. I know it's difficult because you lost the most important support, but you are not alone. We are with you, we are your friends, your team, your support and also your family. It will be a difficult path to achieve, but you never stopped. No matter the adversities and problems, you never gave up and always fought until the end." Tatsu said as she flashed a smile.
"You carry with you part of your original family, you carry their blood, their spirit, their heart, their memories and all those happy moments you spent with them. Do not let your fears and anger harm your path. Remember that even if they are not there, you family will always be by your side." Tatsu said making me hug the girl which made a small rosy tint appear on her cheeks.
"Thanks Tatsu, but what am I going to do with Doris? God, I was so rude to her." I said worried.
"It's not late yet, maybe you can apologize to her tomorrow." Tatsu said with a smile.
"Yes, it's true, thank you, Tatsu, you're incredible." I said as he kissed the girl on the cheek, which caused Tatsu to stay petrified while her cheeks blushed more and more.
"Hehehe, no problem." Tatsu said shyly but she did not notice was that Diana looked at everything with a smile. The Warrior Amazona had heard everything clearly. Diana wanted to help, but it would be best to say everything to the rest of the team.
The night passed normally. I was walking down the aisles with a box full of chocolates, I was looking for Doris but at that point the two of us would end up bumping into each other.
"Ouch, I'm so sorry." I said as I looked at Doris and would help her up.
"Oh hey nerd. I was looking for you." Doris said making me nervous.
They all stopped and looked at us with surprise making both of us nervous.
"What are you looking at so much, you sons of bitches!? Don't you know the word privacy!!" Doris yelled making everyone run away.
A silence fell as we both thought about what to say until I broke the silence.
"Doris, I'm really, really sorry. I didn't mean to hit you yesterday and I'm really sorry I was so rude to you. I'll understand if you want to hit me." I said as I closed my eyes waiting for a hit, but neither of us noticed that Leslie secretly recorded everything.
"Relax already, fool. I'm the one who wants to apologize." Doris said causing me to look at her in surprise.
"Listen. You, you're right. Last night I wanted to find something to prove you wrong but, it turns out, I realized I was doing things wrong." Doris said as she scratched her arm nervously.
"Doris, I want to apologize too. I shouldn't have yelled at you, and I'm so sorry. It's just, it's been months since I lost my parents and I miss them so much ever since." I said with my head slightly lowered making Doris a bit nervous.
"Look. I'm not good at this cheesy stuff, but I want to ask you a favor." Doris said making me look at her.
"I don't know if you want to help me after everything I did yesterday, but could you help me? I found this photo album and I can see what I was in all this time. Maybe I need to learn to be a little softer, so. Could you help me? to improve my situation with my family.?" Doris asked nervously causing me to be very surprised.
"Ugh, I knew it. Look, I'm sorry, yes? I'll understand if you don't want to help me with this shit." Doris said but before she could quickly leave I grabbed her hand causing her to be surprised.
"Doris wait. I'm going to help you, I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did." I said with determination making Doris show a small smile.
"Thanks, nerd. And that box?" Doris asked noticing the box I'm carrying.
"Oh, um. This is for you, it's a way of saying I'm sorry after everything I did yesterday." I said as I hand the box over to Doris making her blush from her embarrassment and nerves.
"Umm, me. thanks nerd. Ehh, do you expect me to give you something to apologize for?" Doris asked nervously as she was not expecting this.
"No, just knowing that we are already at peace and that everything is better now is enough for me, I hope we can get along now." I said with a smile.
Doris felt that her heart was beating very fast due to nerves since this she never thought would happen. Although, she was a little happy to know that things were better now, the redhead did not expect this.
"Doris, is everything okay?" I asked concerned when I saw that the girl didn't say a word or she made a movement. I was surprised though when she smacked me on the shoulder herself.
"Don't get your hopes up nerd, we may be at peace now but don't think I'll be your friend. Still, you'll help me make things better in my family. Promise!" Doris yelled as she looked me in the eye.
"I promise. I promise!" I said very nervous.
"Okay, make sure you don't forget or I'm going to. I'm going to hit you!!" Doris yelled nervously.
"I promise, I won't forget." I said nervous and a little scared.
"Fine, I'll see you in class nerd." Doris said before walking away with the box of chocolates. However as she crossed to another hallway she noticed Leslie waiting for her.
"Doris. Explain yourself, what was that all about?" Leslie asked seriously.
"That's none of your business, Leslie. And what the hell are you doing watching my conversation with the nerd?" Doris asked seriously as she hid the box of chocolates but her best friend noticed.
"That's the problem. Why did he give you those chocolates? I hope you're not sneaking out to him." Leslie said making the redhead nervous.
"He just gave them to me as a way of apologizing for a silly argument we had yesterday, that's all. Besides, that's none of your business and besides. I can do whatever I want." Doris said seriously.
"Very well, I just hope that doesn't affect our robberies." Leslie said as she looked at Doris.
"Relax now, will you? It was just a gift, it's not like he's going to ask me out on a date." Doris said as she left for her class.
Leslie turned to see me close my locker before I left. The girl I entered closed her eyes before going to her class. Leslie always loved Doris as her best friend, she would never accept that someone will come and change things. She wouldn't say a word to Selina or the rest of her team, but one thing was clear. Leslie would take matters into her own hands if things went too far.
Doris had gone the other way and was now in the bathroom washing her face with cold water as she tried to relax.
"Shit. What the hell was that!? He just flashed a smile and just gave me some chocolates. Because I suddenly got nervous!?" Doris yelled as she looked at herself in the mirror before slowly relaxing.
"Come on, relax. It was just a gesture to apologize. But still, what was that?" Doris asked herself before going to the classroom but when she entered she realized that I was in the same room causing her to get a little nervous.
"Miss Zuel, please have a seat. Be on time." The teacher said while Doris with no other choice sat down next to me.
I only greeted her with a small nervous smile before paying attention in class, Doris on the other hand looked ahead as she thought now what to do. She didn't understand what happened, it was a strange feeling for her, although the redhead was embarrassed to hit me for being nervous, she just wondered what it was all about. It wasn't a feeling that disgusted her, it was a feeling that made her feel good.
"I don't know what it is. But it wasn't bad at all." Doris said in her mind before paying attention to the class.
So far today's chapter. I hope you liked it and I also hope you are enjoying the story so far.
I hope everyone has a good day, a good afternoon or a good night. See you later, goodbye dattebayo.
