"James! Jamie! Where'd you go?" Sirius yelled, turning around in the woods. They had been plotting for the full moon, the first since they graduated, and had split up to lay out wards and other protections.
All he heard was bird calls from the tall, tall trees. He walked around a little more. The forest was more than a little creepy despite being on Potter property.
He must have walked around the woods in circles for a good thirty minutes before he frowned and came to the conclusion he was lost.
Then, "Oh duh." He changed into his animagus form and chased James' scent. That wanker had gone back to the house on the property. Sirius met him halfway across the lawn and changed back. James smirked and adjusted his glasses.
"Took you long enough."
Sirius smacked him in the arm. "You're such an ass sometimes, but I love it because I'm just as bad." He snickered.
They smiled at each other, knowing they often were on the same brain wave.
James grinned at him. "Come on up to the house! I had Tofty get your favorite snack–"
" –Kippers and yeast rolls!" Sirius finished. He sighed happily. "You really know me."
Then they walked back to the large house arm in arm, discussing their friend, Remus, and James' girlfriend, Lily, and how they needed to get together even though times were fairly dangerous now that they weren't protected by Hogwarts.
