Ravage Rider Rumble

Spyro and Adir found themselves waking up in the familiar ground that was the Dream Realm. It was no surprise to them now as the, Chronicler must be needing to speak with them again and perhaps help them awaken more of their dormant powers.

"Here we are again." Adir sighed as he stood next to the purple dragon upon a floating rock platform. He looked in the distance across the open sky to see a piece of the temple with a pool in the center of the ground, but it glowed green this time.

Spyro nodded. "I do have some questions if the chronicler is willing to answer them." He said.

"Yes. We followed his directive in the swamp, but not only did we find out that tree was a monster now we are all stuck as gladiatorial prisoners. Something is not right about tall of this and I intend to find out!" Adir proclaimed.

"Get on." Spyro told him as, Adir mounted himself on, Spyro's back and the dragon flew over the open sky beneath him and, Adir as he landed near the green watered pool as, Adir hopped off of him.

They peered down into the pool as a mystical voice happily greeted them. "You've come far, young ones." He complimented but the purple dragon and the human were dumbfounded by that remark.

"What?! Ignitus said you would help but you've led us on a path to nowhere!" Spyro responded accusingly.

"Our paths are not always the ones we choose in life." The voice of the chronicler replied calmly. "Sometimes our paths are chosen for us and it is our destiny to follow it. Wherever it may lead."

Adir sighed disapprovingly shaking his head along with, Spyro. "Still…this path we believed it was the right one but its taken me away once again from those that I care about and those that have followed are in danger because of it! I never wanted this to happen!" Adir wheezed.

"It is a very unfortunate that in these times those that you hold dear are put on paths that are filled with unknown dangers. When walking together upon such roads it is when you must remain vigilant for the coming storm as only when you take hold of those that stand by you can any obstacle be removed." The Chronicler explained.

Adir nodded lightly as he had an understanding of it, but it still hurt him that his cousin, sister and brother are once again in grave danger. He only just got them back and already they had fought numerous creatures and once again suffer the confinements of imprisonment.

Feeling the silent call, the two of them climbed upon the pool and stood upon the water in the middle of it. "Be steady, young ones. Use the power of the earth to feel your way." The Chronicler told the two in the pool.

Shutting their eyes, Spyro and Adir felt the water tremble and shake around them. They could feel the bottom move and start to crack beneath them then they drew the power within and unleashed it as it completely shattered the surrounding area as the walls were obliterated and the ground beneath them was so cracked that the tiny floating island they were on was barely holding together to their amassment.

"The Power of Earth and Nature is a mighty one. For the earth moves as does everything in it. Be mindful when you wield it." The Chronicler explained.

Feeling the power within them the dragon and human leapt across small floating platforms to test out the returned Earth element when they reached a large floating platform and stoned sentries attacked them.

Taking the Chroniclers words to heart they both attacked using the earth element. Spyro slammed upon the ground when he was surrounded by attacking stone soldiers while impowered with the earth element sending out a shockwave that launched the soldiers into the air letting, Spyro attack and shatter them.

Adir slammed his legs so hard into the ground that caused a large crack to appear and break off in front of him sending two soldiers falling down it and when another was coming from behind him he swung his arm about turning around but then something formed just outside of his hand and creating a massive ball that was hard as a stone and it extended out from a green rope and collided with the soldier shattering it completely.

The Young warrior was surprised by what he just had down. He remembered he imagined wanting to hit his attacker with something other than his fist and that's when it happened. Spyro saw what his friend had did and quickly did the same shooting out a earth flail from his mouth turning out fast shattering each soldier that came close then he flew up into the air and with one flip forward he slammed the flail down hard enough that it shattered the entire island breaking it apart as everything on it fell but he caught, Adir with his front legs before he could fall too.

They went to the next island where they summoned their power when a couple dozen of stone sentries appeared around them. Using all their power they unleashed a fury that sound out a series of shockwaves that sent some of the soldiers launching a great distance or knocked them to the ground before being blasted off the island.

The two had once again remastered their earth element and discovered something new to it. They were happy they once again had achieved the reawakening of their power, but this didn't please them too well as they felt this was another stepping stone and there was so much they had yet to know.

A short distance away a large temple appeared, and they were drawn to it. Spyro flew over to it with, Adir on his back and once they landed they slowly walked inside it.

They may have gotten their earth element back, but they were becoming impatient. They had done nothing but obey the Chronicler's calling and yet they were not given a true explanation.

"We want to know what is happening!" Adir demanded calling out into the temple as they walked towards a pool in the middle of it.

"We've done what you asked of us and followed your path!" Spyro added on.

"Yes." The Voice of the Chronicler agreed. "But a time will come when you must follow and choose your own path. And you both are not ready."

The two of them stopped a short distance from the pool when the chronicler said they were not ready. "Open your eyes!" The Chronicler gently spoke then suddenly a vision appeared before the purple dragon and human.

The Two could see the dark mountain they had saw in their dreams. They saw thousands of apes and every manner of dark creature walk to it as it was calling for them to come to it. "Why are they going towards it?" Spyro asked.

"It is their calling. The Black hearted creatures of this world cannot resist its temptation. The Well of Souls beckons them as the night of Eternal Darkness approaches." The Chronicler explained in slightly concerned tone.

"What is the night of Eternal Darkness?" Adir asked next.

"It is the night when the Celestial Moons come together in a great eclipse that shrouds the world in darkness." The Chronicler answered. "The Well of Souls is the pinnacle of its terrible shadow."

"Oh my god! Its as if that mountain that was there for that sole reason. That cannot be a coincidence." Adir shuddered.

"Indeed, young Adir. That very night it stirs the deceased from their eternal rest and permitting them to roam freely within the halls of the mountain. If only for a short while." The Chronicler continued on as his tone was becoming grimmer. "And soon the night of Eternal Darkness will be upon us. Find me in the celestial caves of the White Isle!"

Suddenly a white flash blinded the two then suddenly they found themselves waking up.

"Hey guys! Their waking up!" Rai who had been sitting by the purple dragon and his older sibling since they were brought back to their cell only to find them still asleep. Understanding they were not going to wake up by any means he stayed by them while, Sid and his sister gazed out the cell doors while, Sparx was mumbling a song out of tone quietly in one of the corners.

"Oh, finally!" Sparx groaned as flew up to the ones that stirred awake and, Sid and, Molly came over.

"Hey guys. Enjoy your beauty sleep?" Sid grumbled.

"After what we just learned I'd rather have been awake." Adir replied. Spyro nodded in agreement.

"For right now we need to come up with a plan. I fear the longer we are here the worse its going to get." Spyro exclaimed.

"I am inclined to agree." Molly said kneeing down next to the purple dragon. "But when we were brought back here there's so many scavengers. It is much like, Cynder's lair even if broke out what can we do?"

"There's only one thing you can do, my dear." A dignified voice claimed as the group turned their heads to see it was the scavenger captain and the two parrots that spoke for him on his shoulders just outside the cell door as it opened up with the purple parrot, Sniff flew inside and landed in front of them.

"Time to bruise not to snooze! You best be getting to it or your going to lose it!" Sniff warned shuffling his feathers.

"Fine!" Adir grumbled standing up along with, Spyro as they were about to walk out the cell but, Sniff put his right wing halting them.

"Not you too fools! You've had your chance! Time for the others to earn their shot!" Sniff shouted.

"Yes. The young lass and the small one will do nicely for the next match!" Scratch pointed at, Molly and Rai.

"What!" Rai yelled as four scavengers stormed into the cell and seized both, Molly and Rai by the arm and dragged them out.

"Oh no you…" Sid was about to retort only for four more scavengers to run in and point their cutlasses at him to keep him from trying anything. Adir was scared for his big sister and his little brother as they were dragged out of sight. They were now going to ones to battle in that arena but like what happened with him and, Spyro there was no telling what they would face.

"Come! Let us be seated quickly." Scratch insisted.

Sniff ruffled his feathers eagerly as he flew back upon, Skabb's left shoulder. "Time for pain! And it will be coming from a train!" He chuckled eagerly as, Skabb left as the other prisoners in the cell were taken by the arm and, Sparx was again thrown into a tiny cage by one of the scavengers and handed to, Sid.

"I'm really getting tired of this lantern routine." He groaned folding his arms as they were taken to the arena.

Eventually, Sid found himself sitting in the same spot with his legs chained to keep him from moving anywhere and, Adir was sitting next to him with his feet chained as. Spyro was chained by his legs and his neck to keep him from trying to move being a dragon they didn't want to take any chances.

Skabb walked upon the balcony where he stood hours ago as the surrounding crowd of scavengers all hooted and hollered eager for the next better to begin at their, Captains pleasure.

Scratch chuckled as the blood thirsty crowd's eagerness pleased him. "Are you ready for more!?" He called out to the crowd and they all howled in anticipation.

"Then without further ado. Please give a hearty welcome to…" He announced as one of the gates to the arena opened up and, Molly and Rai were marched to the entrance and with no choice they walked into the open as the crowd went wild at the sight of them. "…Hairless apes!" The Crowd cheered and bellowed in laughter at the introduction as it was suitable title for the two new challengers.

"Who are they calling hairless apes!" Molly growled as, Rai stayed close to her.

"Now I know how, Maxiumis felt." He chuckled nervously as the surrounding crowd all pointed at them growling and laughing.

Molly looked up near the balcony where her friend and friends were sitting. She threw them a quick smile to let them know they will be okay. At least she hopes they will be. She had her fire element and, Rai had his electric element with their power they should be alright.

"What are we going to do, Molly?" Rai asked his big sister.

Molly put a gentle hand on her youngest brother. "Stay close to me, Rai. I know your nervous. I am too but we must stand firm and keep our heads about us."

"Let's try to keep our heads that's what I want the most." Rai shivered fearfully.

As the crowd had enough of looking upon the challengers they awaited for the one who would be fighting them.

Scratch then pointed his wings above the arena to the cloudy sky that could be seen out of it. "And their opponent needing little introduction…"

Sniff continued. "The Captain of Crunch! The Prince of Pain himself!" He introduced with his wings pointing to the opening above the arena. A Large ship that was the size of two dreadwings soared into the arena.

The Front of the ship had a carved pointed open mouth face on it, and it had a cannon sticking out from the inside of it. The Ship was shaped like a fish with two small sails on both its starboard and port resembling fins and with a top said acting like dorsal fin.

"The One! The Only! Ravage Rider!" Scratch announced as the ship flew to a stop a short distance from, Molly and Rai.

Spyro and the others chained next to him all looked down with worry. Molly and Rai were good fighters, but this opponent was rather intimidating, and they had no idea how they were going to deal with it.

"Molly…that thing there has a cannon in its mouth and one at each side." Rai stammered looking about the fearsome foe in front of them. He saw in the back there was smoke coming from two exhaust pipes. "It may even have an engine in it too! And it can even fly! What are we going to do?"

Molly panted heavily as the situation was very bad. Facing one or a few apes or scavengers was simple enough but this ship they were about to face was indeed heavily armed and it looked look it wouldn't be so easy to burn the ship as it was made of metal.

"Just stay sharp!" Was all that, Molly could say before the ship then charged at them. Molly grabbed, Rai and jumped out of the way before the ship could hit them.

When the ship missed it began to circle the arena grounds as Molly ran for the center of the arena putting, Rai down. The Ravage Rider then began to fire at them from the cannon in its starboard side.

Rai and Molly ducked and moved out of the way before the fiery cannon balls could hit them. The Crowd roared as the ship then moved down the middle as fired from the cannon from within the mouth at them.

Molly pushed, Rai to the ground as she jumped out of the way of ship. Rai stayed close to the ground as he watched as the ship flew over him almost touching his nose but then he noticed something under the ship itself as it went over him completely.

Rai got back up and was quickly looked over by, Molly as the ship began to circle and fire at them again.

This time, Molly tried to fire back creating a fire ball and launched at the ship hitting its top side but with the top layered with metal armor it only bounced off of it and exploded on the ground.

The Crowd continued enjoy the battle at hand as, Adir and Sid grew increasingly worried for their family as, Spyro and Sparx shared the same concern. Even, Sparx was biting on his fingernails as, Molly continued to try and damage the craft, but it was useless as the armor was too thick to burn and she could barely make a dent.

Rai continued his best to avoid the ship as kept going after them all over the arena grounds. If he and his sister were in the middle it would try and shoot them from the sides. Once again it turned and came out at them from the middle.

"Get down, Rai!" Molly screamed as she was behind the ship trying to find a weakness as, Rai was in the middle of the arena as the ship came after him.

Again, Rai threw himself to the ground but this time he kept his eyes peered for something he believed he had saw under the well armored craft and went it flew over him he smiled when found what could be the key to beating it.

Once it was over him, Molly quickly ran over to, Rai. "Are you alright?"

Rai nodded. "Molly! There's a hatch under that ship. If I am right the one piloting that thing must get in from there!"

Molly quickly looked at the Ravage Rider as it again circled the arena grounds. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! I saw it! There's a hatch just under it from the stern. Just out of sight if you can't see from under it" Rai explained.

"Then how can we access it!" Molly asked while dodging more cannon fire along with, Rai.

"Not sure! That things moving too fast for me to grab the hatch handle!" Rai replied as the ship continued to circle them at high speed.

Then an idea came to, Molly. "Then we just have to get it to stop for a moment!"

"How?" Rai inquired as they watched the ship was getting ready to make a sharp turn straight at them from the middle again.

"If there's a pilot in there then he has to see out of somewhere. We just got to blind him so he can't make his turns at the right time!" Molly shouted taking a quick look at the front of the ship and could see two glowing eyes at each side of the mouth of the ship.

"Rai when then that thing comes at us use your powers and aim at the eyes that must be how he sees!" Molly pointed out.

Rai nodded and readied himself as, Molly stood close as once again the ship made a sharp turn down the middle straight at them trying to run them over. But this time, Molly sent out a streak of flames at the left eye and, Rai sent out a cackle of yellow electricity that streaked to the right eye of the ship.

They did so for a couple of seconds before jumping out of the way and this time the ship did not make any turns as it couldn't tell how close he was to the wall and then the menacing craft collided straight into the wall to the shock of the entire crowd as the craft became lodged into the wall as it careened upward showing the hatch that, Rai had talked about.

"The Hatch!" Rai pointed at the tiny compartment where the pilot could enter from. Molly ran up to it and opened it up as its collision shattered the interior of the ship letting her open it up easily. She saw something from within groaning in pain.

Not taking any chances she unloaded more flames into the opening and then was met with screams of excruciating pain from within. Molly ran back to, Rai and they both watched as a scavenger pilot engulfed in flames climbed out of the interior and tried to dose the flames by hitting and rubbing his enflamed clothes but it was useless as the pain became unbearable as his body dropped to the ground and soon enough he perished as the flames continued to burn its body to ask.

Molly and Rai took breathes of relief as they actually had done it! They successfully beaten something that at first glance didn't seem like it could be beaten but thanks to, Rai discovering the hatch and, Molly's plan of blinding where the pilot could see from it helped in their efforts and they had won.

Though the death of another champion was shocking to the crowd they roared in cheer as the battle filled their blood lust and the prisoners that were still shackled down in their seats all smiled each of them glad they did not lose a family member and friend.

"See? I always knew they had a chance. I wasn't worried at all." Sparx gloated and acted confident in his cage as, Sid rolled his eyes and, Spyro and Adir didn't listen as they were greatly relieved to see, Molly and Rai were alright and that they had won the battle.

Molly looked down at her little brother giving him a quick rub on his face. "Great job, Rai."

"You too, big sis." Rai smiled as they were soon seized by scavengers that came out from one of the gates to take them back to their cell.

Spyro and the others were unlocked their seats and taken away by the ones that guarded them. "Hopefully, we can get a room upgrade after this." Sparx hoped as, Sid couldn't wait till they got back to their cell and he wouldn't have to be holding, Sparx again as he was becoming increasingly annoyed by the dragonfly's arrogance and pigheadedness.
