Trials and Tribulations

The Island was calm and eerie. Hardly a sound could be made out as the group walked through the caves from the entry way. Filled to the brim with glowing snow-white crystals that light up the caves more than the small torches that lined on the walls.

Zima admired the beauty that the crystals showed. They gave a calming aura to her. She had heard tales of the dragons and their relations with the crystals themselves. Legends had stated that the dragons created the crystals that could heal and provide life and power. It was fascinating. Though she stayed quiet following the others as they cautiously moved through the caves. They did not know what to expect. Their journey had led them through many perils. So much they risked to find this place and now that they were here it was a question of what they would find.

"This gives me the creeps." Shivered Sparx staying close with Spyro as he led the way through the caves. They seemed to keep going but they passed some pieces of statues that had fallen into collapse across the floors. "Not to mention the dragon who lives here probably doesn't know a thing about picking up after himself."

"Your one to talk, Sparx." Huffed Adir. "How often was it your mother had tell you to clean up or pick up an area you left filthy, and it was usually me who did that for you back in the swamp?"

"Hey! I had stuff to do!" Defended Sparx holding out his arms looking at Adir snarky.

"Enough you two! We need to find the Chronicler!" Spyro yelled behind him.

Adir shook his head at Sparx's direction. Always he starts a fuss and times they both get a lecture, but the dragon was right they were very short on time the moons were very close now and they didn't know if they had hours or days left before they eclipse. The Chronicler had the answers, and they had to hope he did and finding him on the island now was the most important.

The Group hastened their pace moving through the caves. Hoping over some pools and ponds that had broken pillars across them providing a bridge with, Spyro flying over them with, Sparx as, Adir and Zima moved over them together helping each other when it seem the distance required a quick and long hop with both giving a hand to other as they made it out of the caves coming towards another temple.

This Temple had two large statues of dragons sitting at both sides of the door. There was four round pedestals with orbs sitting on them.

"Sacred threshold…hallowed ground…pathways unfold…lost is found…" A soothing yet loud voice echoed across the area halting everyone in place.

"What is that? Am I hearing someone?" Zima asked her ears twitching looking around, yet she did not see anyone.

"Yeah. Great now me and the kitty are hearing voices." Scoffed Sparx feeling like he was losing his mind but, Zima shot him a nasty look. She had warned Sparx before about calling her that. Seemed what she was told of the dragonfly was true. He was annoying as any insect was only worse he could talk.

"Prove your worth with quick desire. Ice and Earth. Electric. Fire" The Voice said. Everyone stood in place awaiting to see if that mysterious voice had more to say but they did not hear anything.

"What do you suppose that means?" Asked Adir unsure what that voice was implying.

"Not entirely sure but maybe those orbs over there provide an answer. Four orbs. Four elements. Adir you take the two on the right. I'll take the left." Suggested Spyro and Adir ran over to the ones on the right and, Spyro went to the left. He breathed out a breath of fire on the first orb and it glowed bright red. The Pedestal lit up and it became empowered. Getting the idea Adir shot a wave of ice over the orb nearest to him and it glowed blue. Spyro shot a streak of electricity on the other orb and, Adir powered up his hands and struck the final orb with a earth blast. Each orb glowed yellow and green, and the temple entrance opened up for them.

"Wow! It seems your powers are required for this place. Puzzles that can only be solved by use of the elements." Zima pointed out running towards the two gathering at the temple entrance.

"Seems to be that way." Agreed Adir. "Let's get inside and find the Chronicler." He looked up at the sky above it snowed lightly and gave a chill, but nothing gave him more of a chill than seeing how the moons were starting to come together. Time was very short.

"Let's go!" Spyro hurried inside and the others followed him. They went through the halls of the temple. Lining across the walls on the floor were dimly lite candles that seemed to light up as they were about to pass them. It was peculiar and rather uninviting for them. Zima was becoming unsure about this. The Temple seemed to be haunted. She could her fur stand on end. She did not show fear easily but places like this were a danger to anyone who would enter. The Dreaded tales of entering a place of mystery usually ended with those who venture in would be lost forever.

But she continued on she gave her word she would look after the purple dragon and, Adir. She had to risk this to fulfil her oath. She could not risk them facing any danger alone. As they continued on there were a few shelves with books on them. Some of the shelves looked poorly kept and were barely holding up. Some drapery on the walls were of many colors presumably the elements used by, Spyro and Adir, but there was another color that was spotted. It was pale white, but Zima could not figure that out. What element would that be? Or was it something else? But when she saw tapestry across the walls she could see how they lined with pictures of dragons each one presenting that of the element they represent. However, she did not see anything relating to the human. There was nothing on them with any form of Adir's liking? How does he relate to dragons if he was not one of them and using powers only they could wield?

They continued onward desperate to find the Chronicler. He was here they knew it, but Sparx was becoming frustrated. The more they went through the temple the more upsetting it was.

"Oh, come on! Couldn't this guy greet us at the door after all we have gone through? You think he would be courteous and be like. Hey! Welcome you all! I see you didn't get killed! Come on let's have a drink and chat!" Grumbled the Dragonfly.

"Don't an idiot, Sparx!" Chided Adir. "When has it been that simple? I don't expect anything to go easy anymore. Trust me. I would love for that, but I figured something like this would go. It has to be more tests we must take before we can see him. This Island alone is not mysterious for no reason."

"I may not have gone through everything you all have but I do concur with, Adir. This Chronicler you're seeking that has been a mystery even to your kind for so long and now here we are being the first to come here I would think one would take precautions in greeting those who have trespassed upon his domain." Zima surmised and, Adir smiled at her. She certainly was far more clever than Sparx. Perhaps more than most people. Least she thought straight.

Spyro nodded in agreement though he continued to lead on. They had to find the Chronicler eventually. They came upon a room that seemed similar to the room back at the dragon temple. There was a small pool in the middle of the room. It glowed snowy blue. Much like the pools he and, Adir stepped on each time they regained their elemental powers.

Around the pool were two rocky pillows with glowing insignia's on them from red, blue, green and yellow with a circle of light candles down below. The Group hoped down and stood in front of the pillow.

"Hold on. I think we made it." Spyro said looking around. There were five doors, but each one was shut. Four of them glowed each one with an glowing insignia showing their perspective element but the fifth door straight ahead was the biggest of them all and with no insignia yet it too was shut.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Called out Spyro but there was no answer. Sparx flew up in front of him with a scared look.

"Hey! If there is perhaps we shouldn't just wake up who it could be? Starting to think maybe that dragon is not here and something else could be?" He suggested but none of them would hear of that.

"He's here Sparx! I know it! We didn't go through everything just to come to an empty island." Sneered Adir.

"They have to be right. Signs indicate someone is around. Though conditions are rather unfavorable its livable and someone is staying in this temple." Zima added.

"Expose your heart to summon ghost…then face alone what you fear most." The Mysterious voice echoed in the room alerting the group but then, Spyro was the first to speak when it seemed the voice had said all that was needed to say.

"It seems we must climb onto the pool and enter it. We are all meant to go through a trial it seems." He said walking up to the pool.

"Are you sure about that?" Asked Zima unsure. She was not good with riddles but the way that voice described about facing a fear she was worried.

"It has to be, Zima. What else could it mean?" Replied Spyro.

"I knew it! The Place wants us dead! Should have turned back while we had the chance!" Sparx whinged.

"We have to do this, Sparx. It probably the only way we are going to see the Chronicler. If this is a test then so be it!" Proclaimed Adir walking next to, Spyro.

Zima came up to the dragons right side. "Then I will face whatever tribulation awaits. If this will help find who we are seeking then I will stand beside these two and what awaits us all." She stated. The Dragon and human looked at the snow leopard admirably. She was loyal and courageous. They may have only met her a short time ago but already proving to be a good friend and worthy ally.

"Oh, yeah? Then go ahead and expose yourselves and see what happens!" Growled the Dragonfly and the three stepped towards the pool but, Sparx flew in front of them fast holding out his arms. "Wait! Don't do it! You all can't leave me behind in this whacky moon temple! With the creepy voice and the things that could be crawling in the cracks of the walls! I don't want to be part of a freak show!"

The Trio did not listen to the dragonfly but his sudden worry for them was touching. They walked past him and climbed on top of the pool. Zima was surprised they didn't immediately sink into the water and walked on top of it. But then the pool let out a bright white light that consumed all three of them. In a flash they disappeared leaving the dragonfly alone in the room.

"Uh…guys?" He whimpered his teeth chattering fearfully. "Uh…whoever's voice has been talking to us. Can you bring my brothers and friend back please?" He called out but there was nothing, but silence and he was left alone and hoped that maybe the three he cared so deeply for were going to be okay.

Zima found herself standing upon a platform. Dark clouds filled the sky around filling the air with lightning and small booms of thunder. "Spyro? Adir? Sparx?" She called out but none of them were there. But then a familiar voice called out.

"Zima!" A Seething voice shouted out. A Voice filled with regret and anger. Zima looked ahead and saw a shadow turn into that of a snow leopard. But when its shape took form it was none other than her brother! Slim and tall wielding a short sword. Wearing light padded armor upon himself he looked upon her with great anger.

"Cobalt?!" Gasped Zima falling to her knees. "But I thought you were…"

"Dead?!" Zima's brother raged. "I am only like this because of you! You were weak! Insignificant! I always had to look out for my weak link of a sister! You always were slow! Feble! Reckless! How else were you always behind me instead of by my side? Being the one who I had to carry! To lift to safety! And to be the one to save you which cost me everything!"

"No! You never thought that! You loved me! You were my brother! You always looked out for me since the start of our lives! You were there for me through thick and thin!" Cried Zima not believing the cold words coming from her sibling. But could that truly be him? He certainly was dead! She looked for him in hopes to find him but never found his body. But he would have sought her out if he was.

"I should have cast you aside when I had the chance! You held me back! I saved you and for what?! For you to abandon our land? To seek and help others undeserving! Where was our help when we needed it? How dare you give charity to those who would not return that favor!" Shouted Cobalt slowly approaching Zima holding out his short sword. He intended to bring retribution upon her.

Zima gasped seeing that her brother was approaching with a hostile intent. She could not fight her own family! Her Uncle was a conniving murderer who deserved to die. But her brother was the only true family she had when they had lost everything. This could not be him. But he looked and talked exactly like her brother. She stayed on her knee's as he approached her.

"Will you not defend yourself sister? Is this the actions of a sniveling coward? I had to hold you as you wept constantly! I had to force your hand to break laws so we could eat and stay warm. You cried like an infant almost every night for years! You never took the first step to anything. I was the one who stood while you stayed on your knees. Now I am part of the land beyond when it should have been you who perished!" Ranted Cobalt.

Zima shook her head and looked down feeling great shame over her heart. It was true. Cobalt was the one who did the most work. It was his idea from the start that they had to steal to survive. He pushed for them to become assassins to get vengeance for their parents and the robbing of their livelihood. He did everything and she only just stayed behind him through it all. And when she was pinned and at the mercy of her murderous uncle it was him that saved her. And now he was gone, and she was left alone with nothing.

"Your right, Cobalt!" Whimpered Zima. "You always were the head of what we had left. We had each other but it was you who looked out for me. I was difficult and I questioned everything that we did. But despite that you helped me become who I am. You made me strong. You helped me survive in the conditions we were left in. You gave me a chance to rise up above myself."

Cobalt continued to approach her gripping his sword tighter. "And what is it now that you have done? Did you do anything more to never again feel low as we were cast out to be? Did you become the warrior you had to be to live? You help those that cannot or will not help you in return. You give yourself to the service of others and have those before you repaid your kindness? Have you done more than what you have to ensure you never feel beneath anyone again? Your time under the Skavengers has proven how weak you are! How foolish and reckless you have become after I saved you! Is this how you dedicate yourself to my memory, sister?!"

Zima fell to the floor lowering her head bowing in such shame. "Your right again. I set out from our lands to seek something new. To help those in need. I cannot say those I helped would be willing to return the favor or that if I was in trouble they may not have even bothered with me. But I still desired to see something good in others. We did what we had to do to survive. You taught me that, Cobalt. You showed me that we had to rise above ourselves if we were going to live. Many could not be as we are but in this war I found myself apart of now I see others who share that need to help others. Despite their differences they look upon and watch out for each other as we did. You gave your life for me, brother. There is not a day when I wish I was the one who died, and you did not. You were always strong and smarter than I was. But I never would allow anything else to change who I am."

"Is that so, Zima?" Asked Cobalt as he was right upon her, and she sat back up on her knee's and raised his sword ready to strike down at her. "Then why do you fight now when you lost everything?"

"To live for the future you gave me, Cobalt. You ensured me I would live and with your sacrifice I would live on to be better. To give the chance you gave me. Those I ally with now share that same view. They want to help each other for it's the only way they will survive. We have to live for those we lost. But if my path ends by you I accept it. But as I vowed to those I call my friends I would give my life for them as they risked their own for mine. I will gladly accept what awaits me, but I will carry on even in spirit for them." Proclaimed Zima. Cobalt swung his sword down and, Zima readied herself for the end, but the sword stopped at her neck.

She felt the blade upon her, but she looked up at her brother and saw a smile on his face. "Then you are more courageous than ever before, Sister. You have risen above yourself once and are doing so again. Those you have come to know are fortunate to have you and I am proud of you. Many dangers are still ahead but you can do it. This is not your end. Its only your new beginning." Cobalt said sheathing his sword and took, Zima's hands hoisting her up.

Tears came down Zima's face. She loved her brother and missed him gravely. "I will honor your sacrifice, my brother."

"You already have. And are doing so now. Carry on, Zima. My sister. Know my love for you is always and my spirit is with you. You are now above your fears. May you face them with the sturdy heart you always had within." Cobalt leaned his head down and touched his sisters head and she wept for a brief moment. She loved her brother and missed him dearly, but he was right. She is more a warrior now than ever before. She had a purpose and duty, and she will see that through.

"I love you, brother." Zima sighed with a sadness in her voice, but she looked at her brother and grinned and he smiled at her too before a light engulfed her again having succeeded in her trial of facing her past.

Adir found himself standing on a platform with the weather as gloomy as it was when he regained his powers. It was familiar but this time it was only one big rounded platform and, Spyro was nowhere to be seen nor Zima.

"What's going on here?" He called out expecting a response from that ethereal voice or the Chronicler. "Why am I here?"

"For you are the sole reason that everyone has suffered." A Voice sounding like himself answered him making Adir look around in shock. Did he just hear himself? It was his own voice, but it sounded more dark. Even sinister like. Did he really speak like that?

"Where are you? Show yourself!" Demanded Adir. Perhaps it was a trick pulling out his sword readying himself.

"As you wish." The Voice chuckled and appearing ahead was a shadow that turned into…himself?

"What the?" Gasped Adir seeing his own self. But it was covered in shadow. It looked to him with a wicked smile.

"What are you?" Breathed Adir utterly shocked seeing himself like that. Shadows waving all over the dark being as it stepped towards him pulling out its own sword.

"I am you! Only the one who is the truth. Its you that leads all to darkness. Its you that allows those you claim to love to peril and death." Smirked the dark Adir. "I am the one who looks for only the one that matters."

"You are not real! I am not you!" Screamed Adir holding up his sword.

"Really?" The Dark Adir exclaimed before swinging his sword towards the young warrior and, Adir deflected it.

"You lost it all, Adir! You are afraid and you deny it!" Laughed the Dark Adir throwing another strike at, Adir sweeping below but, Adir jumped up avoiding it but back up. The Shadows over his dark half looked to be reaching for him and he was keeping a straight face, but his heart was feeling great fear build up.

"I am not! I made it this far!" Cried Adir taking a swing at the dark one, but he easily dodged to the side and backhanded, Adir knocking him over. Adir avoided the sword coming down on him and rolled away getting back to his feet holding his sore face for a moment before getting into a defensive stance.

"Yes you are! All you ever are is afraid of what you are meant to be! You carry so much burden and you do not share it! You hold it in and pray it not never takes you, but it is now! Who are you without those you call friends and family! You are nothing! You are meant to be alone! Embrace that fact and become what your meant to be!" Bellowed the dark Adir showing great frustration.

Adir shuddered. His dark self was right. He was more scared than ever before. That fear when he lost his family the first time. When death nearly had its hold on him and there was nothing he could do to prevent that until, Spyro and the others came along and saved his life.

"You see? Its true isn't it? You accept the fact you rely solely on others. Your achievements are not your own. Who are you without them? A Weakling! A Coward! You rely too much on power and allies! What are you without any of that?" Roared the Dark Adir coming at him jumping up and brought down his sword and, Adir lifted his sword and blocked it holding up his sword with both hands with the might of his opponent bringing him down to one knee as sparks flew off the cleaving swords.

Grunting heavily Adir tried to hold his attacker off, but it was becoming too much. He was being pushed down and was falling back he lost his footing and fell onto his back, and his sword was knocked away and a boot came down on the young warriors chest. The Dark Adir ripped Adir's sword out of his hands and held it over him crossing them over each other.

"As expected without your friends and your family your easily toppled. If it wasn't for the purple dragon. The Dragonfly's. The Guardians and all you met you would have met your end each time. How pitiful that you end as alone as you always are!" Chuckled the Dark Adir lifting up the two swords preparing to bring them down on, Adir's neck.

Adir breathed in fear shutting his eyes. This maybe his end. To die alone and without others. He understood now that his fear was always being alone. He always had his family and when they were taken from him he lost it all. He had nothing until Spyro came along and all those that helped him. When he was not alone he did incredible feats. But when alone what can he do? His thoughts went to his father. A Man whom the reports said faced enemies all by himself when his company was at a loss. So many dead and most wounded and he was alone to face the hoards that certainly would have killed all his men, but he managed to hold them off long enough for help to arrive. By the time the battle was over he was found dead. Having been wounded in the fight but he held off dozens and killed nearly everyone of those that attacked. He died alone and without help. But he stood for his men and saved so many when hope was all but lost for them.

Opening his eyes realizing what he had to do now just before the two swords could come down on him he elbowed the dark Adir's leg making him collapse over the warrior. Adir rolled to his stomach getting to his feet and kicked his sword free from the dark one. He grabbed it from the floor and brought it around just before the dark Adir could strike him in the back.

"So, you do have strength in you! But what are you without your friends?" Asked the dark Adir.

"I am a warrior! I am my fathers son! He died alone but he stood for his men and his country! I wanted to follow that example he gave to me. To our family! I lost him and I once lost everything, but I have been given a chance! I may not be able to protect them, but I will do what I must! Even if I am alone I will never stop fighting!" Cried Adir pushing the fight back. He slashed violently at the dark Adir catching him off guard.

The Dark Adir tried to deflect the other ones attacks, but they were coming faster and faster. From all directions the true Adir would not allow his fears to take hold on him. He was fighting on through it until he managed to create an opening and kicked at the dark Adir with a heavy thrust of his right leg knocking him back tumbling over.

Adir ran up to him leaping up and jumped onto him pinning his arms down with his feet holding his sword at the dark ones neck.

"I am scared. I am afraid. I have lost but I regained. And I will never stop fighting be it I have my friends and family or not. I will follow in the footsteps my father did and I will never be you!" Proclaimed Adir proudly.

The Dark Adir glared at Adir but then smiled before the shadow faded away showing his real self below. "Then you are indeed the warrior of prophecy. You have a long way to go but the spirits praise your commitment, and your father would be proud." The former dark Adir smiled and, Adir above stepped off of him backing up and his other self-stood up and bowed to him before a bright light flashed and they both disappeared.

Spyro found himself on a platform in the middle of a storm above him. But then a flash came in front of him, and he saw a great dragon in front of him. He saw it bared a similar look to that of Cynder when she was an adult dragon and the monster that both he and, Adir had to stop.

"We meet again, young dragon." Hissed the Dragoness as her scales flickered from black to red, blue, green and yellow. Spyro didn't understand why that was happening but as the dragoness approached him he prepared himself.

"The last time we met you were at my mercy. How is the dragon of prophecy so easily defeated?" Snickered the ghostly elemental being that resembled Cynder and sounded much like her dark half.

"We bested you before!" Retorted Spyro.

"Yes, only due to that friend of yours. He stopped me from killing you. But what are you without him? Without your friends? Do you not know that you're a dragon of special creation?" Snorted the dragoness.

"I don't care what I am or what all say I am. I want to help everyone! I want to save Cynder, and I know that's not you!" Replied the purple dragon standing guard. He remembered how difficult the fight was with her but if he must fight alone then so be it.

"I am her! I am her destiny! I am your destiny, young dragon! You are meant for grander things than heroics that are pointless and insignificant!" Seethed the Dragoness hissing menacingly at him. She and Spyro began to circle each other each of them ready to fight only waiting on who would make the first move.

"No! I am not like you! I will not allow Cynder to become this again!" Growled Spyro.

"You are more like me than you realize. Cynder is meant to be this way. Its who she is the moment she hatched. And you are meant to take this world and make it yours." Hissed the dragoness as they continued to circle.

"Why do you care? Why do you fight? You help and bring those close to you but what is the purpose? To use them until they are no longer of use? To make them your soldiers to fight and die for your cause?" Asked the Dragoness and Spyro became more infuriated.

"No! They are my friends! I do not use them! I will never cast them aside! It doesn't matter what they are! I will never think of using them just to fight! They have lives and families! Many of them have lost their homes and many of their people because of this war! I may not know who I am entirely, but I know one thing those I know, and love gave me a chance to be who I am. They each taught me to be something more. They taught me right and wrong. My parents and my brother. Adir and his family. Ignitus and the Guardians and all those I met as I took my steps into becoming a dragon. Prophecy or not I will be there for those who need me. I will be there for those who stand by me. Wither they can fight or not I will never look down on anyone. I will fight for them all. Alone or not, I will carry on and save Cynder and stop the darkness that is coming. You can fight me, and you may win or not, but I will never stop being who I am, and I will never look down on those that need help!" Roared Spyro flying up and powered himself up he let a massive shockwave of fire, electricity, ice and earth turning the entire platform into mix of flames, crashing boulders, electrical streaks and ice shards utterly annihilating the dark remembrance of that what, Cynder once was.

Exhausted, Spyro flew down on the platform breathing deeply as his emotions ran very high in that ordeal but then a flash of light enveloped him and within it he disappeared.

Sparx was still in the room feeling very nervous with all the eerie creaks and crackles that were coming from all directions. Shivering fearfully, he wanted to fly back the way he came in with the others but by himself just how far could he go without getting into trouble which usually his brother and friends had to help out of it. He could not go anywhere.

"Come on! Why did they have to leave me alone? Am I really not that fun to be around?" He asked himself but then a flash came from the pool, and he saw after he blinked a few times from being blinded it was, Zima, Adir and Spyro.

"Guys! Hey! How was your trip to spook town?" He asked trying to hide the fact that he was scared for all of them.

Each of them having faced heavy tests of their own fears weighed on them and their faces showed that their trials took a lot from them.

They all got down from the pool and took a few more breaths before one of them finally spoke. "Is everyone alright?" Zima asked holding a hand over her heart. Her trial facing her brother and having saw her own errors and remembering just how much she missed him she quickly wiped away one last tear before anyone noticed.

"Yeah. That was…something." Adir replied taking a few deep breaths still trying to calm himself. Facing the reality that he feared of being alone and letting all down was trying but as he told his dark self he would face it head on and without a second thought.

"Agreed. I don't know what you all went through, but I am glad its over with." Spyro said happily but the ordeal with that dragoness made him question many things. But perhaps the answers he needed would be around should the Chronicler finally present himself.

The large door with no insignia opened up getting everyone's attention. They saw within a were rows and shelves of books that lined the way and at the far end of them there was a large hourglass pouring not sand but something blue, but it was too far to make out with.

"We have passed the tests we were given. I think we are meant to go that way now." Spyro pointed out.

"I think so too." Agreed Adir.

"And that is fortunate." Zima said but then she looked at the dragonfly realizing he did not come on the platform with them.

"But I wonder why did he not have a test too? He didn't come onto the pool with us!" She asked pointing at the Dragonfly that flew up to them.

"Well perhaps I am quite special." Gloated Sparx moving a hand over his head making a pose flexing an arm. "I am the god of Atlawas after all. Maybe my greatness has given me some privileges?"

"Oh, god not this again!" Groaned Adir putting a hand over his face.

"God of the Atlawas?" Zima asked both amusingly and curiously.

"We'll explain more later. But let's head further in. The Chronicler must be close now." Spyro told them walking over to the open door and the rest followed him into what had to be a library so vast that the chamber was filled with countless scrolls and books on shelves and a rows on the walls. It would take years to read through a fraction of them but as fascinating as it was to see such an array of knowledge that could be learned from each one they made for the hourglass down the row they saw.

But their gazes still were fixed on the books that lined the rows on the shelves. "Incredible! The Entire history of the dragon race has to be here." Marveled the Purple Dragon.

"It is! Well…mostly and of the human race and of many others." A Gentle voice called out to the group.

"Is that…" Adir asked as they came towards the end of the shelves and sitting near the hourglass was an ancient dragon grey in scales with four horns two curving out the side of his head with two curving slightly up the back of his head and his body was covered with a dark grey robe with a book and two scrolls latched onto his right side.

"The Chronicler!" Gasped the purple dragon and the group stood in awe of the very one they have set out to find and their journey had finally come to an end.

"Yes, Spyro. It is I." The Chronicler nodded. "I have been waiting for you all."
