Tony plopped down on his bed and stared up at the ceiling.

'Flowers! He sent her flowers!'

Well of course he did. They were dating after all and he did propose to her. So it was perfectly logical he would send her flowers. But was it enough for Angela to agree to marry him? He felt a cold chill travel through him. Angela married to Andy? The two of them spending the rest of their lives together? Could he handle seeing the two of them married? No, he couldn't so he would have no other choice than to move out. Though it pained him to even think about it.

But what other choice did he have? He certainly couldn't continue living here. He would just be in the way. If Angela and Andy were to get married they needed their privacy. They certainly didn't need a hairy Italian in an apron messing things up. He chuckled as he remembered the time he had told Angela that. It was after Michael had moved back in and they had decided to give their marriage another shot. So as much as he didn't want to he would have to move out.

The thought though of never seeing Angela again cut him to the core. How would he handle not seeing her every morning and then sharing their day over a cup of tea after dinner was over? He felt a shame of guilt overcome him when he realized ever since he started dating Kathleen they had barely done that. At first it was hard to even be in the same room together. He had felt shame and guilt while she had felt betrayed and disappointment Fortunately or unfortunately-however you wanted to look at it- things had been getting a little better. They were able to talk to each other without any awkwardness. Well not completely. There was still that lingering turmoil that existed between them. And he knew it was all his fault. They had become so close the past few years. Close enough that he had thought about them getting married.

He sighed as he remembered Paul and Isabelle's wedding. Angela had looked so beautiful. That had been the first time he had thought about them getting married. He never told her of course. After all, it was a silly notion. A big success like her married to her housekeeper?! He could only imagine what the Freds and Gingers of the world would say. Not to mention people like Jim Peterson and Joanne Parker.

So then didn't it make more sense for Angela to marry Andy? Someone who was on her level? He never would be. Yes, he was going to be a teacher but that was a far cry from being a doctor. No matter where he ended up she would always be the breadwinner and he would only be making crumbs. At least with Andy they would be equal partners. The same was true with Kathleen and him. And wasn't that the most important thing?!

'Love Tony. L.O.V.E.' Mona's voice echoed in his head.

Okay so he didn't love Kathleen. He knew that. Hell he had known that since the beginning. Mona was right. He had been hiding behind Kathleen. And it wasn't fair to her. She deserved more than a man who had basically just been using her to deny his feelings for another woman.

Oh God what had he done?!

And how was he ever going to make things right?

Angela opened the front door and hung her coat on the coat rack and put her briefcase and purse on the desk next to Tony's books. She felt a jolt of sadness as she realized if she married Andy Tony would more than likely move out. That was what he had done when Michael had moved back because he wanted to give the two of them the chance to make their marriage work.

"You don't need a hairy Italian in an apron messing things up."

She smiled as she recalled that day. She had been so happy. Michael had come home and they were going to try again. It wasn't until Tony had told her that Michael had let him go that she had felt her heart breaking. In just a short while Tony and Sam had become a very important part of her life- of their lives. But she also understood Tony's reasoning. But living without him those few weeks had been some of the hardest she had ever felt-even more so than when Michael had been off in the jungle. And when Tony had come back home she had felt a peace she had never felt before. It was like all was right with the world. Their family was back together.

And for years it had just been the five of them. Oh sure there had been Geoffrey, Tonya, Frankie, and Brian- Brian Thomas who had tried to come between them but none had succeeded. No one had except…

Kathleen.

She walked over and collapsed on the sofa. Even though it had been a few months since Tony had started dating her it still felt raw. Every time Tony went out with her or spoke to her on the phone or stayed over at her place she felt her heart breaking in a million places. But none more so when she had arrived home one day and was greeted with the two of them making out on the couch. She had felt sick to her stomach and so angry. But as always she didn't want to make a scene so she had quietly shut the door and then loudly announced that she was home. When she had opened the door again they were sitting on opposite sides of the couch both pretending they hadn't just been sucking face only moments before.

A part of her wanted to have it out with them. But really what would that have accomplished? Tony had chosen Kathleen over her. It hurt. It hurt like hell but there wasn't anything she could do about it. It was time to accept the fact that he didn't love her and he never had.

After all, what was that saying? If you have to choose between two people, pick the second. Because if you loved the first person you never would have fallen for the second.

So it was obvious Tony loved Kathleen. He had chosen her after all.

So maybe she should just accept that's how things were and agree to marry Andy.

Yes, that was exactly what she was going to do.

She got off the couch and went over and grabbed her purse and coat. She opened and closed the door and walked to her jag and opened the door. She slid in the driver's seat, started the car and drove over to Andy's….
