Who Can Be Trusted?
Meanwhile Leo was outside walking to Penguin's limo. He noticed Mr. Penn and gave a small smile. Then the door to the limo opened to reveal Martin. He smiled when he saw Leo, but Leo frowned at him.
Martin wrote in his notepad, What's wrong?
"Martin, what were you doing back after the party?" Leo asks sitting down in the limo too.
What do you mean? Martin wrote.
"I saw you looking into the living room after the party," Leo said, "Were you spying on my mom? Were you doing it for Mr. Penguin?"
Martin had a guilty look on his face and nods and then wrote something in his notepad again. Yes. He said that he wanted to know what your mother was planning and who she was planning it with.
Leo frowns and looks down at the floor. He wanted to still believe Martin was to be trusted, but right now he wasn't 100% sure. Leo already knew that Penguin wanted to use his friend as a spy, but how far was he going to go? It was also obvious that Martin really liked Penguin and even saw him as a father figure.
Martin tapped Leo's shoulder making him look up. I'm sorry. We're still friends right?
Leo gave a small smile and nods. But he was still going to keep his guard up.
Martin then wrote to change the subject. So the man from the party with the policeman. He's your dad?
Leo nods, "Yes, I was really surprised when I found it out."
Just then the two boys saw Penguin coming with Victor Zsaz. Leo frowned confused wondering where his mother was. Penguin got in the limo with a smile on his face and Victor climbed in as well.
"Mr. Penguin where's my mom?" Leo asked.
"Oh don't worry about her Leo, she had to stay behind for personal reasons. But I can promise you you'll be okay," Penguin assures him, "You'll be coming back to the Iceberg Lounge with us for now."
"Okay," was all Leo said.
The limo then drove away from the mansion as Leo couldn't help but look back.
Meanwhile Jim and Harvey go to Arkham Asylum to confront the Pyg. Jim was a little hesitant about Harvey, but he insisted. When they arrived Jim closes the cell door, while Pyg sits on a stool handcuffed and chained.
"Captain Gordon," the Pyg greets, "I wondered if my little scuffle would bring you here. I'm so glad it did. I've missed our little chats. Though I must admit I didn't accept you to be here Mr. Dent."
"Surprise," Harvey sneers.
"You've missed our chats? Good, then you can start by telling us who you really are," Jim replied.
"Don't you know?" Pyg asked surprised, "Jim, I'm a reflection of you."
Jim leans forward and stares at the Pyg. He feigns a curious look before replying, "I don't see it."
Jim then punches Pyg knocking his cheek out of place. Harvey, not wanting to be left out, does the same to his other cheek.
The Pyg chuckles then sighs, "James, Harvey, you swine." He then pushes his face back into position.
"We're not in the mood to play your pathetic games Pyg," Harvey growls.
"We want to know who's hiding behind that mask," Jim said.
Pyg replies with a smile, "What you see is what you get."
"What we see is someone who craves attention," Jim responds.
"So why conceal your true identity?" Harvey asked.
"Don't you want to take credit for all your brilliant crimes?" Jim asked leaning close to the Pyg.
"Oh, I get all the credit," Pyg replies, "The whole town has gone hog wild for the Pyg." He snorts like a pig.
"Not since we caught you," Jim remarked.
"And I've beaten your sorry ass," Harvey taunts and adds with a look of hate, "And believe me, I would've done more if Jim hadn't pulled me away."
"You're yesterday's news," Jim adds.
"It's not true," Pyg denies.
"This is Gotham," Jim and Harvey say in unison.
"You're a second-class psychopath compared to what we've got," Jim told him, "Jerome Valeska, Fish Mooney, Penguin."
"There's also Jervis Tetch, Johnathan Crane, just to name a couple more," Harvey says.
"All of them have staying power," Jim said, "You don't."
"You're wrong," Pyg denies, "I terrified this whole city for months. People will remember that."
"No they won't," Harvey said in a taunting tone, "Or even remember your name."
"He's right," Jim said, "In fact, they've already forgotten you."
"But not you, Jim, Harvey," Pyg responds, "You're here."
"A final visit," Jim and Harvey both say.
"Now we're both gonna walk out that door and never think about you again," Jim told the Pyg.
Pyg chuckles, "Mind games. You really think that's going to work on me?"
"I told you we're not playing any games," Harvey responds.
Jim calls out, "Guard, we're done here."
"James, Harvey, we're not done here," Pyg says angrily.
"I believe we are," Harvey smirks.
"Have a nice life," Jim said.
When the guard opens the door Jim and Harvey start heading out until Pyg yells out in a southern accent. "Don't you walk out on me!"
Jim and Harvey stop and turn back to look at the Pyg.
"Neither of you will ever forget me! I promise you that!" Pyg says in an anger southern accent.
"There you are," James whispers.
"Gotcha!" Harvey smirks triumphantly.
The Pyg's eyes then shift wearing a worried look as he realizes his mistake. Jim and Harvey then leave.
At the Iceberg Lounge Leo, after exploring for a while, was sitting at one of the stools kicking his legs waiting for Martin and Oswald to be done talking.
"Hey kid," a male voice spoke.
Leo looked around to see a strange man who was bald with dark skin. Does he work for Mr. Penguin?
"Don't worry kid, I work for your mother, Sofia Falcone," the man said. "I'm here to bring you to her."
Leo was wary of the man. "Um I think I should wait until Mr. Penguin is done," the boy responds.
"Trust me kid, Penguin isn't to be trusted," the man insists, "Let me take you to your mother."
Leo still wasn't sure if this man could be trusted, then again he wasn't entirely sure if Penguin could be trusted. But he really wanted to see his mom so he walked over to the man and the two started walking towards the exit of the building.
"And just where do you think you're going with Sofia Falcone's son?" Victor Zsaz's voice asked from behind.
The man turned around to face Victor and said, "I was just taking him to the bathroom."
"Really?" Victor questioned, not believing a word of it, "Because the bathroom is over there," he said pointing in the opposite direction.
The man then took out his gun and started shooting, causing Victor to do the same. "Run kid!" the man said.
Leo ran out the exit to find a black car waiting and in it were three strange women dressed in black. One woman was blonde who had her hair cut in a weird style and was showing her cleavage, one woman had tan skin with her black hair in a ponytail and the other woman, who was a lot younger than the other two, had curly brown hair.
The blonde woman spoke, "Hey. You're Sofia Falcone's kid, right?"
Leo, too confused to speak, nodded.
"Get in," the blonde woman said.
Leo wasn't sure why or what made him do it, but he got into the car with the three strange woman and then the car drove off.
