Built For Sin (Scream 4)
Chapter 3
Cinema Club
Amara sat in the back with Tatum bored trying to avoid the stares of students. She hated the attention. Sidney sat In the front and Gale leaned off to the side observing.
"Okay, Cinema Club We are now in session. Welcome, we will tell you a bit about ourselves" Charlie says walking through the aisle.
"We are a sanctioned after-school activity..one rung below the Glee Club, two above Nintendo Wii Fit." the class laughs at his last comment
"And let me say just to our guests, it's an honor," he says with a slight bow. Sidney and Tatum stand up as the students cheer but Amara remains seated, eyeing Charlie.
"Beyond Jamie Lee Curtis, forget Linda Blair, I mean, this is the ultimate," Robbie says excitedly, making Tatum roll her eyes. She didn't want to be there either; she felt she was surrounded by geeks."If you say so," she says, picking her nails.
"Thanks. I guess. Um...This? You film your entire high school experience and what, post it on the net?" Sidney asks the Robbie kid signaling the headgear he wore.
"Everybody'll be doing it someday, Sid," Robbie replies.
It's kind of the one component the killer's missing." Charlie adds.
"What do you mean?" Gale questions. "Well, you wanna be the new-new version. The killer should be filming the murders." Charlie explains.
"Yeah, it's like the natural next step in a psycho slasher innovation. I mean, you film them all real-time, and then before you get caught...you upload them into cyberspace." Robbie explains, Amara noticed Jill's boyfriend Trevor seemed to be deep in thought.
"Making your art as immortal as you." Charlie finishes.
"Not to implicate me,"
"Not to implicate him," Charlie and Robbie respond at the same time. Amara received a text from Randy letting her know he did meet Jill and that they'd talk about it later.
"So who do you think is behind the murders?" Sidney asks curious and ready for this to be done with.
"Well, it's a Stab fanatic. Working on less of a shriekquel and more of a scream-make." Charlie explains.
"Copyrighted terms, by the way," Robbie says walking away from Charlie and through the isle.
As Charlie speaks Amara side-eyes Robbie, who was getting a little too close. "Big fan of yours," Robbie whispers, trying to do a close-up but Amara stands, making him pause. "You know people call you the Ghostface Queen, since you had so many pining after you,"
"Back out my bubble or I break the camera," she warns, making him put his hands up in surrender and a little scared quickly walking away from her.
Robbie joins Charlie at the front again. "the kills gotta be way more extreme. Modern audiences get savvy to the rules of the originals...so the reversals become the new standard." Charlie explains.
"The only sure-fire way to survive a modern horror movie?...is You pretty much have to be gay." He finishes, as the class laughs Charlie and Robbie look at each other before putting space between them.
"The original Stab structure is pretty apparent," Robbie says
"Yeah, two kids killed in a house when their parents are away..." Charlie adds.
"And then the school's hot chick savaged beyond recognition," Robbie adds, putting his fingers in quotes.
"We all know where it goes from there." Charlie points out looking at Amara.
"A party," Tatum answers boredly.
Charlie smiles at her, "Exactly. A party. Guaranteed third act main cast bloodbath."
"Fingers crossed on some nudity for a change," Robbie says, crossing his fingers.
Amara and Tatum look at each other before standing up having enough. They walked up to Charlie and Robbie.
"Okay, so do you know of a party that's happening tonight?" Tatum asks, Charlie eyes her up and down before answering. "Well, there's Stab-a-Thon."
"Let me guess, you guys watch all the Stab movies back to back," Amara guesses boredly
"Exactly, every year," he replies. Gale and Sidney walk up behind them.
"And it's tonight?" Gale questions both boys nod happily.
"There's a killer out there patterning his murders after the original movie," Sidney says in disbelief that the marathon was still on.
"I know. It's pretty wild." Robbie says laughing lightly.
"You have to call it off," Gale says demandingly, both boys shrug.
"Okay, I mean, it's Friday. I'm sure we're not the only party that's going on in Woodsboro." Charlie says.
"So where is this circle jerk gonna take place?" Gale asks as both boys just stare at her.
"So who's ready for this Q ?" Charlie asks, ignoring her question.
"Ah she asked you a question," Tatum says, urging him to go on.
"You know, it's kind of an underground thing. EMail invites, pretty secret." Charlie explains.
"We don't give a damn..location..now," Amara demands walking up to Charlie while Tatum grabs her shoulders trying to keep her from hitting a student.
Charlie backs away but remains quiet, "What, you're not gonna tell me? Really? We're working together. Remember?" Gale says, trying to reason.
"So about that Q " Charlie tries again, Amara goes to step forward but Tatum grabs her arm, keeping her back.
"Fuck you, let's go," Gale says leading them out, before Amara walks away she eyes Charlie darkly then eyes Robbie before smacking off his headset.
"Never gonna get a girlfriend with that thing on," she teases walking away and out of the room to catch up with her friends.
"I love her," Kirby says laughing as Robbie picks up his headpiece wiping it off with a whine.
"That was so awesome," Charlie says practically fangirling.
Outside the School
"I am going to that party," Gale vows to turn to her.
"Count me in," Amara says, stepping up.
"Count us out," Tatum says, her voice a little shaken.
"I'm sorry guys but I feel I should be with Rose, I don't want another one of my girlfriends to be murdered" she says thinking of Hailee.
"Hey, nothing to be sorry for. You're taking care of your family." Amara consoles hugging her.
"I'm not going to the party either...I should stay with Jill," Sidney says, making Amara and Tatum break apart, putting their arms out for her.
"This is a weird team up, can you guys handle this without hurting each other?" Tatum asks worriedly looking between the two.
"We're fine, right Gale?" she forces out the words.
Gale stands there feeling awkward until the group opens their arms for her and she smiles hugging them tightly. "This does not make us friends, acquaintances at best," Amara tells her, pushing her off after three seconds.
"Be careful," Sidney says as they all break apart.
"We will," Gale promises as she and Amara head to the car.
On the road, Amara noticed every two to three minutes Gale would stare at her. "Spit it out," Amara says, knowing something is on her mind.
Gale takes a deep breath, "A few years ago after my first book..I asked you if you wanted me to write the truth and you said no," she says confused as Amara nods remembering.
"Why?" She asks curiously, it bothered her for a long time.
"I don't know...I guess people thinking I'm like that kept them away and out of my business,I'm okay with being an ice queen" she replies, but the real reason she knew if she wrote the truth was that someone would find out about Sam and Warren and put two and two together, she didn't even wanna think of what would happen if they found out about Taryn and Tara.
"He said Ghostface Queen," Gale says snickering, "Shut up," Amara tells her, rolling her eyes.
Gale nods in understanding dropping it
Stab A Thon
Amara and Gale walked through the entrance in Ghost Face masks. Amara quickly places her phone on silent ignoring Billy and Stu's texts. She wanted the backup but there were too many people.
Gale gives Amara half of her small cameras. "Don't wander too far, make sure you hide them good...meet me back at the car when you're done,"
Amara nods as she puts them in her leather jacket pocket walking away and blending into the crowd.
She places the cameras when everyone is distracted watching the movie. Amara makes a disgusted face at the scene that was supposed to be Casey and her about to take a shower together.
She scoffs heading to Gale's car she hops in lightly scaring Gale interrupting her recording and taking off her mask.
"Can you take notes for your book later?" Amara asks, annoyed, placing the laptop in her lap checking the footage. Gale rolls her eyes, stopping the recording as they watch the cameras.
"What the hell," they say at the same time.
One by one the cameras start being covered up. Amara tries to fix the last one but it's quickly picked up and turned around showing someone in a Ghostface mask looking at the camera and then covering it.
"Call Randy and Dewey," Gale says, shaken.
"What are you nuts?! I'm not letting either one of them get hurt," she refuses.
"Fine, I'll call him," She jeers, dialing the number. Amara rolls her eyes hopping out of the car going into her boot and pulling out her gun.
She pulls out her empty clip, tossing it before going into her other boot for her full one. Gale gets out of the car slowly closing her door as Amara cocks her gun back, he back facing the car. She didn't want Amara to get hurt again.
Gale rushes to the front angry about her argument with Dewey and determined to get her cameras.
Amara looks into the car shocked to see Gale gone and curses under her breath running inside to find her.
Recognizing her, Kirby stops Amara in her tracks, "Hey it's you... what are you doing here?" she asks curiously.
Amara laughs looking around, "you can stop pretending now,"
Kirby laughs while sipping her drink, "how's Sam? And Warren" She asks curiously...Kirby was their babysitter a few times when we came into town and the only other person in Woodsboro besides Tatum that they trusted with the secret of Sam and Warren but not the secret of her father.
"They're fine getting big," she whispers.
Gunshots ring loudly making kids scatter, "get out of here Kirby," Amara pushes her toward the exit running toward the shots.
Gale is stabbed in the shoulder before Gale kicks the killer rolling off the top floor onto the hay. Dewey shoots again hitting lights missing the killer, Amara quickly runs after him climbing the ladder, Dewey curses under his breath the door remained open the killer disappeared but Amara didn't think so.
Dewey runs to Gale's side while Amara runs out the door she runs around the barn tool shed seeing the killer in the distance she starts to run after him but She stops when she sees the killer talking to someone way bigger than them in a ghost face mask too.
Amara pulls her gun out of her boot firing at the smaller one, hearing the shots the bigger one stands in front of him blocking the shots.
The small one runs away as the bigger one heads straight for Amara.
She shoots at him but the shots go straight through him having no effect as he runs for her.
Right before he could make contact he's tackled hard into a tool hears loud shuffling and grunts before the whole thing comes crashing down. Amara moves her face away from the splinters and dust
A masked man appeared from the rubble dusting himself off.
Amara raises her gun not sure who that was or who to trust but as the man starts to lift his mask Amara lets out a breath of relief running into Billy's arms and hugging him tightly.
He grabs her neck roughly with his bloody hand kissing her pouring all his anger yet happiness into the kiss. He finally detaches his lips from hers leaning his forehead against hers. "I'll be angry later.. right now I'm just happy you're okay," he whispers in relief.
Amara looks to the collapsed tool house worried. He immediately knows what she's thinking and cups her face "Don't worry, I ripped out his heart.. he'll heal but slowly bad news is with an injury like that he has to kill,"
"I'm sorry," she whispers but he smiles lightly laughing. "What?" She asks, confused.
"You have bigger problems," he states, licking his lips and pointing behind her.
"Oh god, Randy," she says shocked to see him a few feet behind her.
Randy stares at them mouth wide, shocked, lost for words not knowing what to say at all. He knew Billy was still out there but for him to actually be here in front of him is a different story.
