Mr. Aizawa stood in front of Class 1-A, his usual tired expression and slouched posture not doing much to make his presence seem particularly commanding. Yet, even in his casual stance, the room quieted down slightly as he spoke.
Aizawa:Today, class… Sorry for being late he said, rubbing his eyes as though he hadn't slept in weeks.
Aizawa:Today, I'll have you all…
He paused for a moment, glancing around the class as though to build suspense, but more likely because he was too tired to immediately finish his sentence.
Aizawa:...choose a class representative.
Suddenly, the room exploded into chaos.
"I should be class rep!" shouted.
"No way, it's gotta be me!" another voice chimed in.
"I've got the leadership skills for this! I'll keep everyone in line!" a third claimed confidently.
Kaminari was standing up on his desk, pointing at himself, declaring,
Kaminari;I'm perfect for the job! Think about it—everyone loves me!
Jiroh: no they don't..
She said in a dry tone making kaminari let out an almost crying expression
Kaminari:harsh Jiroh right in the feels
Kirishima grinned, giving a thumbs-up as he said,
Kirishima:Nah, you guys need someone manly for the job! I've got this!
Mina jumped up from her seat, waving her arms enthusiastically.
Mina:Hey, pick me! I'll make it super fun!
I don't think it's about having fun Mina.
Sero leaned back in his chair, casually throwing his hat into the ring with a smirk.
Sero:I mean, I wouldn't mind. Could be cool.
Even Mineta, from the back of the class, was squeaking out his plea for leadership.
Mineta:What about me? Come on, I've got a big vision for this!
I bet my love for cheese steak sandwiches nobody will ever vote for him
Meanwhile, I was sitting in my seat, completely absorbed in the manhwa I was reading on my phone, trying my best to tune out the noise. It wasn't exactly easy, especially with my enhanced senses. Every shout and loud declaration from my classmates felt like it was hitting my eardrums at double the volume. I winced as the noise level got even louder, my enhanced hearing making the chatter even more unbearable. Why did they have to yell so much?
Iida:EVERYONE STOP!
Iida's voice boomed out, cutting through the chaos with the authority only someone like him could muster. He slammed his hands down on his desk, standing as tall and straight as a soldier. The room fell into a sudden hush.
Lida:This isn't some part-time job or something you want to do to feel better about yourself!
he lectured, his arms chopping through the air with each word for added emphasis.
Lida:Being class representative means leading others, being a symbol of excellence not only to our class but to other classes as well! You need to think of the responsibility, the duty!
He paused dramatically, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
Lida:Therefore, I propose… we use the power of democracy to vote for our new class representative.
The class murmured in agreement. Even the more rambunctious students like Kaminari and Kirishima nodded thoughtfully, seemingly swayed by Iida's passionate speech.
Iida then turned to Mr. Aizawa, his hand chopping the air once more.
Lida:What do you think of my idea, Mr. Aizawa?
Mr. Aizawa lifted his head slightly, glancing at Iida before yawning loudly.
Aizawa:I don't care. Just do it before class is over, and please… do it quietly
Without another word, he pulled out his yellow sleeping bag and curled up on the floor, preparing for what was clearly going to be a long nap.
I stared at him, bewildered. Was he even allowed to just… fall asleep in the middle of class? Well, I guess this was Aizawa-sensei, after all.
The class quickly organized the vote, with everyone writing down the names of their preferred candidates. I kept my head low, assuming I was completely out of the running for something like this. I mean, I wasn't exactly leadership material. I wasn't even sure if I wanted that kind of responsibility.
But then, the results came in.
Iida, standing at the front of the class with his usual seriousness, read the names.
Lida:alright, the results are in. The class representative… will be Izuku!
My head snapped up so fast I almost gave myself whiplash.
Izuku:Wai… What? Me?!
I stammered, feeling my heart rate spike with anxiety.
Izuku:Who voted for me?!
I looked around the room, my eyes scanning my classmates' faces. Some were nodding like Jiroh and tsuyu others were smiling tooru, Mina ochaco those traitors and I could see a few of them mouthing words of encouragement. To my complete shock, it was clear that… most of the girls had voted for me. But why? I wasn't a leader. I wasn't like Iida or even someone confident like katsuki. Why would they think I could handle this?
"Okay then," Iida continued, seemingly oblivious to my inner turmoil.
Lida:The vice class representative will be Momo Yaoyorozu!
Momo seemed genuinely excited, a bright smile lighting up her face as she stood up from her seat. She gave a polite bow to the class.
Momo:Thank you, everyone. I look forward to working with you all.
Her gaze then turned to me, her eyes shining with excitement and maybe a hint of admiration.
Momo:it's an honor to be vice representative, izuku. I hope we can work together
Is she blushing...and her hand is red
she said, holding out her hand.
I stared at her hand for a moment, my mind racing but well whatever
I shook her hand her blush deepened
"O… okay," I muttered, feeling awkward and completely out of my depth.
As soon as Momo sat back down, several other classmates came up to congratulate me, and that's when I realized something very important: I hate talking to people.
Izumi was one of the first to speak. She walked up to me with a gentle smile, her eyes warm and kind.
Izumi:I think you'll make a great leader, Izuku.
I was already not in the mood for this... I want a redo
Democracy is a scam
I quickly turned away, hoping to avoid more eye contact.
Katsuki and katsumi on the other hand, was fuming in the back of the room. They didn't say anything, but I could feel their eyes burning a hole through me. The tension was palpable, and I could almost hear katsumi gritting her teeth
Go and cry about it
Remembering what happened with Tooru
"Oi, izuku!" Katsuki finally growled, his voice sharp enough to cut through the air.
Katsuki:Don't think just 'cause you got some stupid title, you're better than me!
I snorted I am better than you even without some title
Katsumi:Yeah, well, you better not.
She stomped her foot.
Katsumi:Cause if you mess up even once, I'll—
"Kacchan," Izumi interrupted, stepping between us with a soft smile, trying to defuse the situation.
Izumi:Let's not start another fight, okay?
Katsumi scoffed, crossing her arms and turning away with a huff, but I could tell she wasn't happy. Not one bit.
Kirishima, who had been watching the whole thing from the sidelines, walked up and slapped me on the back, grinning.
Kirishima:Hey, man, congrats! You'll do great! Plus, with me by your side, we'll make sure everything's as manly as possible!
I smiled awkwardly.
Izuku:Uh… thanks, Kirishima.
Sero popped up next, leaning on my desk with a lazy grin.
Sero:Well, looks like you're in charge now. Don't worry, man, we'll make sure not to give you too much trouble. Right, Kaminari?
Kaminari, who had been half-asleep at his desk, jolted awake at the mention of his name.
Kaminari:Huh? Oh, yeah, totally! No trouble at all!
I tried to smile, but the weight of all the attention was starting to get to me. I wasn't sure I could handle this, but it seemed like there was no turning back now. All I could do was hope I wouldn't mess everything up.
Momo, still sitting at her desk, caught my eye and gave me a reassuring nod, her confidence in me steady and unwavering.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm the whirlwind of thoughts racing through my head. Class representative… I had no idea how this had happened, but I guess I'd just have to do my best. Even if it meant stepping way outside my comfort zone.
Maybe… just maybe… this could be the first step toward becoming the hero I always dreamed of being.
Timeskip Brought to you by
As I sat there, lunch tray untouched, I couldn't shake the disbelief still running through my mind. My usual calm demeanor was holding up, but on the inside, I felt conflicted. I always tried to stay composed stoic, even but this was something else entirely.
Izuku:I can't believe you guys voted for me… traitors
I muttered, shaking my head as I glanced around the table at them. My tone wasn't aggressive, more neutral, but they could sense the annoyance underneath. I wasn't mad, just... surprised.
Sitting with me were Ochaco, Tsuyu, Mina, Momo, Jiro, and Tooru. All of them were part of this grand betrayal, even though I knew deep down they had good intentions.
Ochaco, always the bubbly one, leaned in close, her head resting on her hands as she gave me that wide smile of hers.
Ochaco:Awww, come on, izuku! Don't be like that! You'll be a great class rep!
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, feeling a slight heat creeping into my cheeks. Not a full blush just enough to make me aware of it.
Izuku:That's not the point, Uraraka… I'm just not really sure I'm cut out for this. I don't even know why you all picked me.
I kept my tone even, though there was a hint of exasperation.
Mina, always upbeat and with a grin that could light up a room, threw a hand in the air.
Mina:Because you're cool under pressure! You don't freak out like some people.
She glanced around, obviously referring to katsumi and katsuki.
Tsuyu:Ribbit. Plus, you're really organized, izuku. You're always keeping track of things and helping people out
Tsuyu added calmly, sipping from her juice box. She was always straightforward, like me never one to dance around the truth.
I shrugged, leaning back in my chair and crossing my arms.
Izuku:Iida would've been a better choice. He's the one who's always keeping track of everything. I'm... not exactly a leader.
My voice stayed neutral, but I could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on me. It was a responsibility I didn't ask for.
Jiroh, who had been quietly picking at her food with her earphone jacks dangling lazily, looked up.
Jiroh:Nah, Iida's too uptight. You're calm, but you're not rigid. People feel more comfortable with you.
She gave me a half-smile, like she was trying to reassure me, but not too much.
Momo, who had been silently observing until now, nodded in agreement.
Momo:She's right. You're level-headed, Izuku. That's something a leader needs. You think things through before acting, which is why we all trust you.
She paused, adjusting her posture, looking at me with those thoughtful eyes of hers.
Momo:I think we made the right choice.
I sighed, looking down at my tray again.
Izuku:It just feels like too much… What if I mess up?
I said quietly, my voice finally betraying a bit of the anxiety I had been holding in. I didn't like showing weakness, but these were my friends. If I couldn't be honest with them, who could I be honest with?
Tooru, still mostly invisible aside from the floating food she held, chimed in enthusiastically,
Tooru:You won't mess up, Izuku! You always think things through. And besides, we've got your back!
Ochaco:Yeah! You're never alone in this!
Ochaco added, pumping her fist with a determined grin.
I felt my face heat up a little again. They were all being so encouraging, and while I appreciated it, the embarrassment was hard to shake. I looked away for a moment, trying to hide the blush that was creeping up on me. I didn't want to seem flustered, but they were making it difficult.
"Thanks," I said after a pause, my voice softer now.
Izuku:I appreciate it... Really, I do. I guess I'm just not used to being... well, the center of attention like this.
I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly, my usual habit when I wasn't sure how to handle something.
Mina, always the playful one, teased me with a wink.
Mina:Aww, look, you're blushing, Izuku!
That only made it worse. I felt my face heat up even more, and I immediately looked down at my food, trying to compose myself.
Izuku:I-I'm not blushing!
I stammered, but it was too late. They had all seen it.
Tsuyu:ueah, you totally are, ribbit
Tsuyu said, a tiny smirk on her lips as she sipped her juice.
Izuku:C-Come on, give me a break...
I mumbled, trying to recover some of my usual calm. It wasn't working.
Ochaco, laughing softly, leaned in closer again.
Ochaco:You're always so serious, Izuku. It's kind of cute when you get all embarrassed like this.
I groaned inwardly, feeling like I was losing control of the situation. How did this turn from me being class rep to everyone teasing me?
Momo, sensing my discomfort, decided to redirect the conversation.
Momo:In any case, we're all here to support you, so don't feel like you have to handle everything by yourself. A good leader knows when to rely on their team.
I nodded, grateful for her words.
Momo:You're right. Thanks, Yaoyorozu.
Jiro leaned back in her chair, smirking.
Jiroh; And if it gets too much, just remember we voted for you because you're you. Just keep being the same calm, logical guy you always are.
I looked around the table, seeing the reassuring smiles from everyone, and for the first time since I'd been elected, I felt a little less anxious. Maybe... just maybe, I could do this.
"Alright," I said, taking a deep breath, my voice more confident now.
Izuku:I'll give it my best. Thanks, everyone.
As we continued eating, I could still feel the occasional glance from the girls at the table, as if they were waiting to see if I'd blush again. But I kept my cool this time, pushing away the embarrassment and focusing on the task ahead.
Even though I didn't want to admit it, having them around made the idea of being class rep a little less terrifying. I could handle this.
Somewhere else
"NO FAIR!"
Mineta's voice rang out, shattering the relative peace of the lunchroom as he pouted, glaring in the direction of Izuku's table.
Kaminari glanced at him with a raised brow.
Kaminari:Dude, what are you even talking about?
Mineta gestured dramatically toward the group of girls sitting with Izuku, all of them chatting and laughing. "That!" he exclaimed.
Mineta:Why does he get all the girls? It's not fair!
Kaminari gave him a weird look, then chuckled.
Kaminari:You've been whining about this for days now, man. You sure you're not just overthinking it?
Mineta shook his head furiously.
Mineta:No, I'm not imagining things! Look at him! Apart from Shiori, Izumi, and Katsumi, for some reason, all the girls are sitting with him!
He folded his arms, puffing out his cheeks in frustration.
Mineta:It's like he's hoarding them or something!
Sero laughed from across the table.
Sero:Come on, dude, you're really gonna lose it over this? Maybe they just like hanging out with him. You know Midoriya's a nice guy.
Mineta:Yeah, but that doesn't explain why he's suddenly some kind of girl magnet!
Mineta countered, flailing his arms again.
Mineta:It's like it happened overnight! For the past few days, they've all been flocking around him like he's some kind of hero!
Kaminari:Uh, isn't he literally training to be a hero?
Kaminari pointed out, still amused by Mineta's antics.
Kirishima, chewing thoughtfully on his sandwich, finally chimed in.
Kirishima:Actually, now that you mention it, there has been a lot of them hanging around him recently. It's not just you, Mineta. It's kinda hard not to notice.
He furrowed his brow, thinking it over.
Kirishima:But I don't think it's anything weird, though. Izuku has always been good to everyone. They probably just trust him.
Sero snickered.
Sero:you know, it's kind of hilarious seeing you of all people getting jealous over this.
Mineta stomped his foot dramatically.
Mineta:Of course I'm jealous! He's got like all the girls hanging out with him now, and they're the prettiest ones too!
He pointed an accusatory finger at Izuku, who was too engrossed in the conversation at his table to notice the commotion.
Mineta:Look at him! Surrounded by Ochaco, Tsuyu, Mina, Momo, Jiro, and Tooru! Six of them!
Kaminari burst into laughter.
Kaminari:Come on, Mineta, it's not like he's doing it on purpose. The guy barely even talks! He probably doesn't even notice half the time.
Kirishima nodded thoughtfully.
Kirishima:You do have to admit, though, they've been sitting with him more often lately. Like, apart from Izumi and Katsumi with Shiori who seem to avoid him like the plague, all the other girls tend to gravitate toward him.
Mineta:Right? It's suspicious!
Mineta exclaimed, crossing his arms.
Kirishima stroked his chin.
Kirishima:Now that I think about it, do you think Izuku and Izumi are related or something? I mean, they do look a lot alike.
Kaminari blinked.
Kirishima:That's... actually a good point. They've got the same eyes and face structure but well izuku looks older than izumi. But I dunno, man. Izuku said he was an orphan, and besides, his hair is dyed green, right? Plus, their quirks are totally different. Izumi's got that shockwave quirk, and izuku got energy manipulation or whatever.
Sero:Yeah, look at Shoto and Shiori, for example. One's got half-hot, half-cold, and the other's got frost fire
Sero added.
Kirishima:And Katsumi and Bakugo
Kirishima chimed in.
Kirishima:One's got flame ignition, and the other's got explosions. Same deal. And they're twins
Kaminari leaned back in his chair.
Kaminari:you make a good point...
Mineta, however, wasn't paying attention to the genetics talk. CAN WE FOCUS ON HOW HE'S HOARDING THOSE GIRLS TO HIMSELF?!" he whined dramatically. "It's like he's created a harem or something!"
Kaminari snorted, trying to hold back laughter.
Kaminari:Harem? Dude, you're watching too much anime.
Sero shook his head.
Sero:Nah, I don't think it's that deep, man. Izuku is just a chill guy. You know how he's always helping everyone with their training or giving advice. They probably just feel comfortable around him.
Kirishima nodded again.
Kirishima:Yeah, exactly. Izuku is the kind of guy who makes people feel safe. He doesn't push himself on anyone, and he's always willing to listen.
Mineta groaned in frustration, burying his face in his hands. "That's exactly the problem! He's too nice!"
Kaminari grinned, giving Mineta a playful nudge.
Kaminari:You're just mad because being nice works for him, but when you try it, you get smacked.
Mineta:That's because he's quiet! He's got this whole brooding hero vibe going on!
Mineta lamented.
Mineta:Meanwhile, I'm just out here trying to live my life, and bam—someone's throwing hands at me!
Sero shrugged.
Sero:Maybe if you stopped being so… you, things would go better.
Mineta shot him a glare.
Mineta:I am me! I can't change that!
Kirishima chuckled.
Kirishima:Well, for what it's worth, izuku is not doing anything weird. He's just naturally like that. Besides, even if they do like him, it's not like he's doing anything about it. The guy's practically allergic to romance.
"Yeah," Kaminari agreed.
Kaminari:I've seen that guy blush just from someone complimenting him. He's probably not even aware of the whole 'girls flocking to him' thing.
Mineta sighed, deflating a bit.
Mineta: I guess... but it still sucks, man. He's not even trying, and meanwhile, I can't catch a break.
Sero:Maybe it's because he doesn't try that it works for him
Sero pointed out.
Sero:He's not out there chasing anyone. He's just doing his thing.
Mineta huffed.
Mineta:Easy for him. His thing seems to attract people.
Kirishima laughed, giving Mineta a friendly punch on the arm.
Kirishima:Don't worry, man. You'll find someone eventually.
"Yeah," Kaminari added, still grinning.
Kaminari:Maybe you just need to work on your 'hero vibe' a little more.
Mineta grumbled under his breath but didn't argue further. As much as he hated to admit it, they had a point. Izuku wasn't doing anything intentional it was just who he was. And that, somehow, made it worse.
He glanced back over at Izuku's table. The girls were laughing at something he'd said, and for a split second, Midoriya blushed faintly, scratching the back of his neck. Mineta sighed, slumping in his seat.
"Yeah… not fair."
