Tarvek sighed, sitting down, almost weary after the problems they'd encountered, looking at his false human polymorphed hand. Then at the apparently real and functional medical equipment in the room they were in, along with a data-slate now setup on a table display feed from the cameras of the, still seemingly empty, hospital. The empty hospital, in the empty city…yet had masked, mind-controlled humans running about as well, while like of the young female they'd collected had arrived here too. It confused him. Which, therefore, worried him.

"The computers are functional, at least the one here" Janet was saying, while their new addition now sat on a swivelling chair, starting at Tarvek, moving in jerking twists of said chair, but saying nothing as yet "But it's, ah, I can't read Japanese, so you need to update the helmet to…"

"Okay!" the young female interjected, glaring "What the fuck? No, like, how are…a normal looking foreigner now? You were a giant robot-man!"

"I am an orc" Tarvek stated in annoyance, admitting the fact, annoyed as the translation of foreigner had 'barbarian' as a secondary reference "Not a…giant robot-man as you hath phrased it. One is wearing armour, such as folk do in dangerous lands"

"Oh" the female blinked, confused perhaps, or mayhap was thinking of something as she swirled on the chair, then pausing mid-swivel "Like with tusks and the face and….orky?"

"Yes" he said bluntly, tired of this "These are your questions?"

"Are you…" she asked….awkwardly?...looking at him, then staring at Janet "You're not…going to keep me as your breeding sow or sumthin?"

Tarvek sigh. Just…

Fucking humans. Truly, must everything be about mating? Did they have no fucking boundaries?

"What kind of question is that young lady?!"

"Thank you, Janet" Tarvek had to say in response to the gasping, almost insulted sounding, response of his travel companion, though she was also forgetting the young female wasn't exactly a child of her people either. They had just met this one, and she could be anything from a naïve young maiden to a skilled courtesan, or young assassin "And, yes, girl, that is the question you give forth?"

He paused, shaking his head in annoyance "And the answer is no if that is your focus. She wished to aid you, and convinced to do so"

Relief…and was that offence?...went over the girl's face, as he heard the grumble "Fucking nerdy manga boys lied then…good. Lucky. Whew"

There descended a silence…blessed, awkward, silence. Broken far too soon though by the young one "Soo, magic superpowers?"

"Yes, we shall go with that. More advanced in such things than perhaps the plane you are from" he simply explained for now, false hands together before him "For now, it is less relevant than where we may be, where thyself came from, and leaving this plane"

"What'ya mean by plane?"

"He means this isn't your Earth" Janet answered, sitting down and trying to be helpful perhaps. Tarvek was beginning to doubt her approach with the younger human would be all that successful, but it was worth the effort to see could answers be given to questions "This is…ahh, hard to explain, beyond it's probably the city you were in, but not the same city either. Somewhere history went…different"

"That is an adequate explanation for now" he had to say, not entirely honestly, eyes glancing at the screen, looking for any change…and getting none "Now, leaving this place is intended, but your plane is not known to us, so please, give forth every detail of what occurred prior to your arrival here. Do not hold back. Any minor detail may aid in finding a way back for thyself?"

"Wait…" she answered, biting her lip, then frowning silently a moment, motioning with her hands "This is, a, what…another dimension right?"

He nodded, waving at Janet to let him answer things, the girl nodding herself a moment later "Okay, so not alien abduction to planet orc….why is the building empty?"

"We do not know" Tarvek false human form shrugged for emphasis "We are travellers passing through this realm and are here no more than mere hours more. As such there is a means to leave, but it would not be to where thy world lies. So, details, if you would"

Unfortunately there was little the young female human had knowledge of that was of use Tarvek recognised in less than a minute as a description of a 'normal day' was dragged forth from her. In truth was as he'd feared; she'd no recall of actively entering a portal, at all, with her day being unhappy, but 'normal' as she viewed it, beyond minor attempts at lying about friends and such. Seemingly her kin were unsupportive, and folk unpleasant, though that may merely be her opinion he figured after another minute of drawing forth information most useless. The most useful parts offered were that she was from a near identical realm as this one, even down to the language, with her 'cell service' apparently function even…just that there nothing in terms of contacts to be made.

He let out a breath after she finished, Janet seeming unhappy at some parts, but that was likely cultural in relation to other young females being physically aggressive with 'Mayuko Nise' as the young female was so named "Hmm, unfortunate, and your abduction is an unwelcome sign for whatever is occurring on this plane"

"Why doesn't she remember" Janet asked softly "Drugging?"

"Or some similar effect. You believe you were doing work over your…break…one moment, then here the next, no recall of the change" he frowned, false hands together, thinking "There are no indications from the sensor scan, but that does not mean it was not done, nor through other means. You are no mind controlled, not so far as one can tell, but the fact such is used via the masks indicates such could simply delete such memories or repress them….haaaa…."

He resisted running a hand over his head in a frustrated motion. That would not help matters "No. Scanning this realm, then plotting an exit is all that is left. To your plane Mayuko as would be the plan"

'Though that may not be feasible' he did not want to say yet, for the girl needed to be rested and calmed first, as his Compass needed a stealthy escape, or at least a Breach into a dimension that didn't lead back to the Waystation 'Ideal perhaps, but where she is from is difficult to Bridge potentially'

"First though…" he tapped his holo-display, bringing forth a ration pack from his Inventory "You are hungry, yes?"

"Wait…did you just magic up food and drink?" the younger female demanded startling, gesturing at him "Can he just…summon up stuff like that?"

"No…Yes…in a way, he, can…"

"It's stored in a pocket device you cannot see" he answered, cutting off Janet's likely confused answer, placing the prepared pack on the table, opening it up "Statements of not eating for many hours….well, best eat and gather your strength. Time is needed to Path a route, and weakness through hunger should be avoided the need arise to have strength"

"Is he….saying I'm too skinny?"

He watched Janet motion at the food on the table in response to the younger females aggravated sounding mutterings "You should eat. I know this is…a lot, especially at your age, but you need to keep your strength up at least"

Then turned his attention to the drone feed, or drone two, which was resting on the rooftop now, overlooking a wide area to the….well, what was marking as north for now. Distant figures moving there "As someone is investigating where we just were it appears"

"So the city isn't exactly empty then" Janet said, looking at the screen "Are we secure here?"

"They are moving the other direction…for now" he noted blowing up the screens to get a better zoom, then nodded at the food "Hence, eat, rest, while you can. Perhaps they have not seen where have retreated to"

"And the mind control magic masks…"

"After you eat and rest, when are mental refreshed even a fraction. Then there will be a blessing" he answered the youth, who was picking at the food, then actually taking a bite, watching the movement of figures on the screen. Just as he as. Three in total for now. Three more masked cognito-hazards most likely "That will offer some protection, but do not attempt to touch, or even study from a distance, the backs of these masks. Nor anything that looks strange. If so, say thy intentions and let myself with protections do so"

"Best case, they don't notice where we are. We rest up, find way out, and you go home" Janet tried to encourage the other. It was needed, perhaps, as suspiciousness was still very high of them for the youth, and Tarvek had to remain on guard as well of this Mayuko. Even of Janet to some degree should protections fail. The whole situation stank, but avoiding an emergency, loud, escape seemed best when faced with what was potentially a Slaving or Wild Hunt group. The details of the abduction hinted at such, but this whole empty city, with opening and closing dimensional rifts was less obvious in usage or intention. But…then again he wasn't a Senior Pathfinder or House Lord to have experience in such matters he could admit. Tarvek focused on getting out of here as soon, but as quietly, as possible…
