Chapter 13:Tricks Of The Trade

~y/n pov~

Out of the looming, swirling darkness that surrounded me, I heard an eerie shrill cackle from the depths of theabyss of darkness which sent chills down my spine.

This was giving me major sociopathic horror movie vibes.

I looked around me but there was just the ever-presentblack inky darkness that surrounded me.

I wouldn't have felt as uneasy if I could actually see something but there wasnothing.

Wait why was there nothing?

Omc I'm blind.

Why am I blind?

At this point, I was completely freaking out.

Help.

I need help.

I need someone to take me to the hospital or something, maybe a doctor can fix this.

''Hello?'' I called out uneasily into the dark abyss.

Then that eerie, shrill sociopathic cackle of laughter boomed through the darkness once again.

Still creepy...

Wait.

Let's rewind a bit.

Where was I last?

I was...with Dipper and Mable...and then...

It finally all clicked, Mable read my diary, asked me why I was lying to them, and then I got dizzy, and boom darkness.

Wait, did I faint?

So this is what faintingfeels like...huh.

I thought thatbeing unconscious meant'' non-conscious."

How is my brain able to still comprehend and think in full sentences?

Maybe I won't remember this when I wake up.

Then the loud shrill ear-piercing cackleof laughter zipped through the darkness once again.

Okay...forgot about that...it's starting to get on my nerves.

So that means I'm not alone.

Wait am I unconscious or is my mind just deciding to play tricks on me?

I called out (very stupidly I might add) "HELLO?!''

I had a momentary flashback toevery stupid cheesy horror movie ever madeI've watched from birth, where they would trip over nothing when running away from a murderer, how they would hear a noise coming from the basement and decided to march stupidly towards their own death, and how I had mocked them...

Now in an ironic twist of fate, I stand here, calling out the word ''Hello'' to a potential psychopath who I cannot see as if he is in some invisible kitchen and is going to reply with something as casually as" Hey I'm In here, want a sandwich?"

The same shrill laughter pierced through the darkness coupled with "No need to fret Doll face, it's just me."

A distinct voice that I somehow recognized yet still couldn't quite place.

Suddenly out of the darkness a figure startedto appear.

I had to squint at first as it was giving off a lot of light...a bright yellow light.

Coming closer, and closer until finally my eyes had adjusted and I realized that the figure in front of me was none other than the one and the only ...Bill Cipher.

''We need to talk y/n" he said floating towards me.

I tried to run but my legs remained glued to where they were.

I tried to scream to call for help but my mouth only moved and no sound was emitted.

I was as if some mysterious force was preventing me from yelling out.

Wait a second... it's because of Bill.

He's using his powers to keep me in place and unable to speak.

"Yes, I am using my powers so you can't move or talk'' he said as though he was reading my mind.

Wait,

He can read my mind.

Huh, I almost forgot.

He cackled once more and said 'You're very beautiful, you know that?''

Huh, what's he on about?

"The Pines family is the reason your father went insane. They lured him down to thatbasement and...forced him into that portal."

What?

The Shack doesn't have a basement.

"A portal?" I mouthed.

Bill snapped his fingers and suddenly my legs were no longer immobilizedand (as I would soon find out) I could talk.

The words fell out immediately "W-what portal?"

Then suddenly another voice rang out through the darkness.

"Oh, ya don't know?"

I turned around and came to face with little ole' Gideon Gleeful.

~Gideon Pov~

I decided to use my special amulet...yes the one that Mabel broke but I found a spell to repair it.

I transported myself into y/n's subconscious...She is MY girl after all.

I decided to use the amulet to turn myself invisible as soon as I saw Bill and listened in.

Oh now I get what Bill is trying to do...he's trying to manipulate her...to hate Dipper.

Bill is no competition to me.

Dipper is.

Therefore I am going to help Bill make y/n hate Dipper.

I guess when your as brilliant as me those are just the tricks of the trade.

"Oh, ya don't know?" I asked turning visible.

"Gideon?" she asked confused.

Aaaaw she's adorable when she getsconfused.

Bill Cipher turned his head towards me and smirked"I knew you were there."

I rolled my eyes.

"Ok...if you don't believe us...fine, just think about it and remember reality is an illusion, buy gold, bye" he told y/n, then snapped his fingers, and then she was gone.

~y/n pov~

I woke up and I had about a billion questions floating through my head.

Was what he said true?

Did the Pines family indeed lure my dad down to that basement?

The mystery shack doesn't have a basement...ordoes it?

I was interrupted by my internal struggle by Dipper.

"Hey y/n," he said, with his head on top of mine.

I wasin his arms...

Okay...

Why amI in his arms?

I didn't blush or anything.

No...I think after I had that conversation with Bill and Gideon, those feelingsthat I had for him have shifted and are no longer there.

Could his family really be the reason that my dad is insane?

"Let's gofor a walk" Dipper said and stood up and offered me his hand.

I just shook my head and stood up on my own, rejecting his hand.

I noticed the hurt look in his eyes but I had more pressing matters on my mind.

My brain was still trying to piece things together like missing pieces of a puzzle...except you lost like 5 pieces and the rest of the puzzle is on fire.

Dipper and I walked in silence until we came to an old junkyard.

Isaw an oldguy with a huge white beard and huge beady eyes and he's...

-wait is he dancing around a can with a raccoon?

Dipper noticed the look on my face and said '' Oh don't worry that's FiddlefordMcgucket. He's harmless but he kind of lost his mind...don't ask.

Hold on.

"FiddlefordMcgucket?" I asked my voice cracking.

Dad?

''Yeah I feel very bad for him, not even his son will come near him."

Wait...

It took me several seconds to process what he had just said.

"HIS SON?!"I yelled out.
