Chapter 66:

Bulu Fight

Location: Route 13

"Are you sure you want to do thizz? Roto?" We stood outside the Haina Desert.

"Yep," I replied. "I passed out the last time, but this time…"

"Hold on!" Nanu walked towards me. "Some guy named Heinrich told me to give this to you." He gave me a map. "This will get you over there. He was worried about you last time."

"Thanks!" I replied.

"Just. Be. Careful. Because I can't be bothered to get you."

Oh, okay. Wow.

Location: Haina Desert

With lots of water on hand, I headed out into the sandy wilderness.

"If things get bad, I could always drink some of Slowbro's water," I said.

"NO NO NO! ROTO! Water from Pokémon are not eligible for human conzzumption."

"Oh, gotcha," I replied. I put down some Repel and started following the map towards the next Ruins. The Ruins of Abundance.

Location: Ruins of Abundance

The archway had a red paint job here. I decided before I went in, I would sit in the shade for a bit.

"So. Roto. Team Rainbow Rocket, huh?"

"They can't be back," I said. "I mean, yeah. They came back properly once but that was YEARS ago. But why would Faba need to do all this teleportation nonsense? What is he planning?"

"Thizz izz Faba we are talking about. Roto. He'zz an evil geniuzz."

"Well, whatever happens, we will put a stop to it." I took a swig of water and stood up. "But first, we have a Guardian to catch!"

"That'zz the spirit! Roto!"

Location: Ruins of Abundance

You know the drill. I summoned Machamp to push in the blocks to make my way towards the shrine at the end.

We got to it, where red flowers were placed around the stone monument for Alola's laziest Guardian.

"Hello? Tapu Bulu?" I asked. "You there?"

I heard a grunting sound behind me. I saw it. It was black and red with horns and a ring in its nose.

Tapu Bulu (カプ・ブルル)

#385

Grass/Fairy Type

Land Spirit Pokémon

6'03" (1.9 m)

100.3 lbs (45.5 kg)

The guardian deity of Ula'ula is a lazy Pokémon. It commands plants to immobilize its foes and then deals them a savage blow with its horns.

Legendary Pokémon.

Tapu Bulu didn't seem up to it. It started floating away.

"You can't juzzt turn thizz down Tapu Bulu! Roto! Elliott came all thizz way!"

Tapu Bulu gave a grunt. "Hold on," I said. "Hey, Tapu Bulu. You remember the mall that was built on your land?" The Guardian stopped and turned around.

"What are you doing? Roto?"

"Man, people really liked it. Food aisles, toy aisles, clothing, technology and it was all built on YOUR land."

Tapu Bulu puffed smoke out its nose. "That izz the bezzt and worzzt idea you've ever done Elliott! Roto!"

Elliott Vs. Tapu Bulu

"Go Snorlax!" I shouted, just as a Grassy Terrain appeared. Tapu Bulu's horns started glowing green. "It's using Megahorn!" Tapu Bulu then jabbed Snorlax with its horns. "Now use Heavy Slam!" Snorlax landed on Tapu Bulu. It did about half. Then Tapu Bulu used Nature's Madness. This dealt half damage to Snorlax. "Okay Snorlax, Heavy Slam again!" Snorlax jumped onto Tapu Bulu a second time, almost defeating it. Tapu Bulu then used Zen Headbutt. "Enough! Go Ultra Ball!" I threw the Ultra Ball at Tapu Bulu and…

It stayed shut! That was easy!

I did the usual; I opened Tapu Bulu's Ball and let it out. "I'm not sending you to the PC. Whilst you are now under my ownership, you're duty is to protect Ula'ula Isla-"

It was already asleep.

"So, Roto. What now?"

"Tomorrow," I said. "Why don't we go check on Ryuki at his Gym? He must have gotten stronger since I last battled him."

"Great idea! Roto!"

Rotom's Move Dex!

Tapu Bulu hazz been caught! Roto! Since it'zz a Grazz Type, that will be the element we will be looking at!

Leaf Blade!

Originally excluzzive to Grovyle and Sceptile, Leaf Blade izz like Slash, but a Grazz Type attack. With a power of 90 to, it'zz nothing to sneezzze at! Zzt zzt! But it alzzo hazz a high Critical Hit rate!

Pokémon that can learn Leaf Blade include Leafeon, Decidueye and Lurantis.

I guezz you could say it'zz… turning over a new leaf?!
