Heather report
Hiccups POV:
It's been three weeks since the Outcasts attacked and, in that time, not much has happened besides my dad having Berks defenses upgraded. The only other thing that's happened is Mildew attempting to kill my dragons when we're in the village by purchasing blue oleander, which is poisonous to reptiles. Fortunately, I recognized the plant since I feed it to Scaulder every month and grow it in my garden behind a dragon proof cage as a protection but unfortunately some of my dragons ate it before I noticed. They're fine though since all I had to do was harvest some of Scaulders venom for an antidote. Mildew however wasn't so lucky since once I cured my dragons I proceeded to drag him by the neck to the Great Hall to tell my dad what he had done. After that he had to dig up every last one of his flowers on the island before taking them to Scaulder a mile off Berk's shores who was all too happy to enjoy them. For the last bit of his punishment I tossed him off my ship with fungus in a basket to swim back to Berk with the warning that next time I wouldn't let him off so easy. Speaking of my dragon's diet I had been experimenting with Violets diet and had been feeding her nothing but chicken and the results was her almost being able to keep up with Toothless when flying. Other than that, my father has been pestering me to help upgrade Berks defenses and pass some of the designs for weapons I have built but all I was willing to give him was some extra gronkle iron for weapons. When he asked why I just reminded him of everything the village has said about my inventions and me. That shut him up for the day but he'd be right back to it the next day. Eventually I was able to convince him to leave me alone when I'm in the village if Toothless and me did rounds around the island to keep an eye out for trouble.
On my last patrol I wound up catching five Outcast scouts who were looking for a weak spot in the defenses and any information on how to train dragons. This of course gave me an idea for a decoy I could use in case the Outcasts somehow find my island. I put together a book with a gronkle iron cover, three gronkle iron locks, multiple traps like the ones the dragon eye has and I hollowed out every page except for the first one which had a message that read 'DID YOU REALLY THINK IT WOULD BE THAT EASY?' while in between the hollowed-out pages was a powerful bomb that would release zippleback gas before a lighter would flick igniting the gas in an explosion. I made sure that I was only one who knew this book was a fake and in the great hall in front of everyone told my father that the book held everything one needed to know to train any type of dragon just incase anyone was captured and interrogated.
Right now, I was doing a sweep of Berk with Toothless, Scorch, Violet and Bones but much to my relief it seems to be a peaceful day which I was grateful for since it means we'll be able to go home sooner. It was then Scorch let out a growl to get my attention so I turned to him as he pointed his head towards a beach with a ship wreckage. I had my dragons take us in so we could investigate but signaled them to keep their guard up. When we landed I took out my sword and slowly approached the ship before looking under only to my shock find a black-haired girl laying in the sand. I crawled up to her and shook her arm to see if she was alive only for her to get up and take one look at me before pushing herself back and curling up. Seeing her fear, I held up my hand and said.
"It's okay I'm not going to hurt you." She began to cough.
"Do you have any water?" I took out my canteen and passed it to her before she took a few gulps and handed it back to me. "Where am I?"
"This is Berk!" Toothless then came to see what was going on but as soon as she saw him she backed away in fear.
"Don't worry about him! As long as you don't threaten me or him then he won't hurt you." As Toothless backed up I turned back to the girl. "Come on out and I'll show you." I backed up allowing her to leave as I signaled Toothless to back up. "Easy bud!" I turned around to see the girl coming out of the wreckage.
"How did you do that?" I shrugged.
"Before I tell you how I did that why we start with names."
"I'm Heather!"
"And I'm Hiccup now what happened to you."
"My family and I were on our way home to our island when our boat was attacked by pirates." She looked down at the sand of the beach. "They attacked our boat before taking us back to our island, laying siege to it." She walked away. "I was able to escape but my parents weren't so lucky." I put a hand on her shoulder.
"What happened to your ship though?"
"I'm guessing I crashed against some underwater rocks before becoming shipwrecked."
"Don't worry! My dad's the chief and I can talk him into helping us figure something out." I lead her over to Toothless and helped her get on before we took off to the village.
One hour later
I was now enjoying a quiet lunch in the Great hall after making sure Heather was all right. The first thing we did when we got to the village was go and inform my father who welcomed her with open arms before we took her to the Great Hall to not only introduce her to the village but enjoy lunch. While Heather sat with the rest of my generation who were all too happy to accept her at their table except for Astrid but she's never been that welcoming to strangers. The guys on the other I don't think could have accepted her faster and Snotlout being who he was immediately began to flirt. I rolled my eyes at this before focusing on my meal while my dad took another swing at trying to convince me to at least make some of my weapons for the village. I just told him that whenever I did invent something that was successful him and the villagers destroyed it and I was not going to waste my time building something that the village was just going to destroy. He looked down in regret at this knowing I was throwing all their actions back at them. After that he was called away to do some chiefly duties, which brings us to where I am now. Enjoying my meal on my own while my dragons enjoyed their fish outside since when they're not exactly that good a fit in the Great hall.
At the teens table
Nobody's POV:
As all the teens enjoyed their meal they mostly enjoyed a bit of small talk as they ate except Astrid who kept silent. It was as they were eating Heather turned to the teens and asked.
"So, do you guys ride dragons to?" They all sighed before looking down as Snotlout said.
"No! Only Hiccup rides dragons."
"Why is that?" Fishleggs answered.
"He's the only one who's ever trained a dragon and he's the only one who knows how." Astrid then cut in.
"And he plain out refuses to share how with the rest of us no matter how much it could help the village."
"Why won't he tell anyone?" Snotlout looked down.
"He's just being a big baby and holding a grudge." Fishleggs then turned to him.
"Well he does have a right to hold a grudge since we all pretty much treated him like dirt for most of his life." Heather then asked.
"Was he really treated that badly by everyone?" Everyone just looked down without saying anything. "Sorry I asked!" She then looked at Fishleggs who had the book of dragons.
"So Fishleggs what are you reading?" He smiled at her before holding up the book.
"This is the book of dragons and it contains everything we know about every dragon species we know about."
"Mind if I have a look?" He held it out to her.
"Be my guest!" Heather immediately took it and began scrolling through the pages but halfway through she looked up at Fishleggs.
"I admit this is interesting but it all says kill on sight and from what I've seen Hiccup's changed that." Astrid answered.
"Well we would update the thing if he let us read his manual." Heather looked up at this.
"He has a manual!" Tuffnut answered.
"Yeah he has one he showed to the village a few days ago." Ruff then continued.
"He said he keeps all his dragon training ways in it." Heather then looked at them.
"Where does he keep it?" Snotlout answered.
"He keeps this thing on his own island where he lives."
"He has his own island?" Astrid replied.
"Don't ask! It's a long story and the only two people who have ever been there is the chief and Gobber."
"Why just those two?" Fishleggs answered
"Well the chief because he's Hiccups father and Gobber because I believe he was Hiccups mentor and the only man in the village who was nice to him growing up." Heather just nodded before they continued with their meal in silence.
Three hours later
Heather was on her way to the forge to question Gobber about a few things while he was busy pounding away at a sword on his anvil. When she arrived at the forge she walked up to the window where she took note of all the shiny weapons made of gronkle iron before Gobber took note of her. He smiled at her and said.
"Hello lass and what brings you to my humble shop this fine day?" She smiled at him.
"Well you see I was hoping to ask you a few things about Hiccup." He cocked an eyebrow. "I'm just a bit curious about the only guy who rides dragons since the teens say he lives on his own island." Gobber looked down at the sword on the anvil.
"They were telling the truth about that since the lad prefers to stick to himself."
"Why is that?"
"Let's just say when he was younger he wasn't exactly treated well by the village so he spent most of his time alone."
"Got it but I've been told you and the chief have been to his island before."
"That we have."
"Do you think you can tell me about what it was like?"
"Sure lass what do you want to know?"
"Well for starters where is it?"
"The island is about an hour away from Berk by boat and is hidden by the power of the gods."
"What do you mean hidden by the power of the gods?" Gobber then went on to explain how Hiccup came to possess his island and when he finished all she could say was. "Wow!" Gobber chuckled.
"I know lass it's impressive but nobody's allowed on his island."
"Has anyone tried to sneak onto it?"
"Oh the twins and Snotlout have tried only to be dragged back to the village and punished."
"Well if you don't mind me asking what's his island like?"
"The island, the buildings or the inhabitants?"
"Let's start with the island itself." Gobber smiled as he dipped the sword into the cooling tank to cool the red hot metal.
"Well the island is like nothing you've ever seen before with different types of areas." Gobber pulled the sword out of the water. "Heck the lad even has his own jungle and desert and I'm pretty sure the lad kept more than a few places secret."
"That's incredible."
"You should see the buildings he has." Gobber examined the sword. "There are so many incredible things he's built." He hung the sword up. "The forge, the farm, the library, the stables and so much more. I swear the lad has enough weapons in his armory to support an army."
"And nobody's been able to get onto his island." Gobber hung the sword up.
"Not that I know." He turned back to her. "I admit that Snotlout and the twins have gotten close to the point they make it to the beach but when they get close to the forest they are either caught by Hiccups dragons, wolves or other animals."
"Thanks Gobber I was curious."
"Anytime lass." She then left the forge.
Hiccups POV:
I just watched Heather leave the forge after questioning Gobber about my island, which reminded me that the man could not keep a secret to save his life. I made a mental note to discuss secrets with Gobber but just gave me another reason not to tell him or anyone else about the dragon-training manual I showed them all being a decoy. There was however something about Heather that I didn't trust though. While I ate my lunch I listened in on the teen's conversations and felt she took too great an interest in the book of dragons and my dragon-training manual. At first I thought I was just being paranoid but then I thought about how she said she had been shipwrecked on that beach. Kal, my tidal classes and I had been there plenty of times and never once had we come across an underwater rock that came close enough to the surface to actually touch a ship let alone damage one. This lead me to go investigate her ship where I learnt that there was no damage done to its bottom and all the damage looked to be completely posed as if it were all played out. Now I find out she's trying to find information on my island. Call me paranoid but to me this meant she might be up to something so I'm going to be keeping a close eye on her starting tonight.
Nightfall
I was now in the village in my stealth armor with only Angel with me due to her stealth abilities. Right now we were outside my fathers house watching the window to what used to be my bedroom where Heather was sleeping for the time being. I had Angel blend into the building behind me while I used the cloak I made from her shed skin to hide myself by basically turning invisible. It was at that moment that I saw Heather climb out the window and make her way through the village while avoiding being out in the open. I knew this was a clear sign she was up to something so I mounted Angel and we took off after her but we made sure to stick to the shadows and remained cloaked. We kept following her for a few minutes through the forest before we came to a beach where Heather sat down on a large rock. After a few minutes past I assumed she had just came here to enjoy the view of the ocean in the moonlight. Unfortunately it was at that moment I saw a ship coming in and after using my spyglass I was able to see the insignia on one of the shields I saw it was not just any ship, an Outcast ship. It was at that moment I saw Savage disembark the ship as Heather walked up to him. I pulled my cloak on tighter and walked closer but stuck to stepping and standing on the stones so I didn't disturb the sand so they wouldn't know I was here. When I felt I was close enough Heather and Savage were in front of each other before Savage asked.
"Well are you in?" Heather nodded.
"Yeah I'm in and they don't suspect a thing."
"What have you learned about the dragons?"
"Nothing yet but there's something else. Something that's going to make Alvin very happy."
"I'm listening!"
"Hiccup has a book which has everything Alvin needs to know about controlling dragons."
"Where is this book?"
"I don't have it with me but I will! Hiccup keeps it with him on this secret island and all I need is a little more time so I can convince the other teens to help me get there."
"Alvin isn't known for his patience."
"Please you have to trust me and when I get back to Outcast Island with that book the wait will be worth it."
"You better hurry then girl because Alvin doesn't like waiting."
"I will but for now I have to go before anyone notices I'm gone."
After that I followed her back to the village and into my fathers house, as I was barely able to suppress my anger towards her for tricking us like this. It was only once she was back in bed and I was back on my island after sending Angel to bed did I allow my anger to let loose on a tree in my Mayan jungle which I continuously punched. When I had finally calmed down I was breathing heavily before I felt fur under my hands. I looked down to find Maya and Ah Tabai looking up at me with concern in their eyes before felt weight on my shoulders and found Chac and Kisa looking at me with their big orange eyes. I sighed before gently giving each a scratch behind the neck and sitting down under the tree as I said.
"I'm fine guys, just angry at that girl for tricking me and the tribe like this." Maya rubbed her head against my chest as I stroked her. "Thanks girl but it doesn't change what's going on." Chac slapped me on the back of my head. " Thanks Chac I needed that." I stood up. "Well I better get to bed so I can deal with this tomorrow." They each just looked up at me. "Goodnight guys." And with that I was off to bed.
Morning
I woke up feeling good because in the night I had come up with an idea that would teach both Heather and Alvin a lesson about messing with me while also allowing me to have a little fun at the expense of Snotlout and the twins like they had done to me for so long. The plan was to pretend to take my tidal classes on patrol of the waters leaving my island completely accessible for them to get to with Heather. From there on I would torment them for a bit before bringing Heather into my home showing her the decoy book in my library and Violets love for chicken before I excused myself to deal with Snotlout and the twins. Hopefully she would steal the book and from there on I hope she'd try to use Violet to take the book back to Outcast Island. Along the way though I would fly Toothless to intercept her and make he drop the book on the island where Alvin could get it. However when he tries to open it he would be in for a surprise if he were able to open it, which is impossible without the keys each of which was under heavy guard. With my plan in mind I got out of bed and got ready for the day which I knew needed to start with informing my dragons and animals about the plan starting with my tidal classes and Plutarach since they're the main guards of the island and Violet so she knows the plan.
One hour later
I was at my old house with my dad who was finishing off his breakfast and Jocko secretly out on the roof keeping watch for Heather who I knew was up against the wall of the houses side listening to us. My dad looked up from his breakfast as he asked.
"Hiccup what brings you here?"
"I just wanted to tell you that me and my tidal classes are going to be gone all day patrolling the waters."
"Good call son! You never know when those Outcasts might decide to mount an attack." I nodded.
"I just wanted to ask you to keep an eye on the twins and Snotlout incase they use this opportunity to sneak on my island since they'd be the only ones stupid enough to try and without my tidal classes they'd have an easier time getting on my island." He nodded.
"I'll try Hiccup but I have a busy day ahead of me so they might be able to sneak out of the village."
"I just hope they don't try to get on from the side facing away from Berk."
"Why's that?"
"It's the blind spot I suppose since none of my animals are there and most of my dragons keep away due to the rough sandy terrain." It was at that moment I heard footsteps running away from the house so I looked up at the rafters and whistled before Jocko came in through the window as I watched him.
"Heather gone?"
He nodded as I smiled before turning to my dad who was raising an eyebrow in confusion. I just told him about what I discovered about Heather and when he found out to say he was angry would be an understatement but I expected this. If there's one thing I know about my father it's that he hates being played for a fool and the worse the betrayal the angrier he gets. I had to punch him in the gut just to stop him from going after Heather and to get him to sit down. After he was back in his chair I told him of my plan and by the time I was done he looked at me and asked.
"You sure this will work Hiccup?"
"I hope so."
"You better do more than hope because if Alvin gets his hands on that book-"
"Then he's going to have a very hard time opening it and if he does he's in for a surprise."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I'll tell you later dad but for now just trust me for once in your life." He looked at me with an unreadable expression.
"I trust you son!"
"Good now just go through your day as if nothing's happening." He just nodded before he left.
Afternoon
I was in my private study laying on the couch relaxing with a bowl of my favorite nuts next to me along with my two golden falcons in front of me. I was all ready to enjoy the show that the teens and Heather were about to put on here on my island. I kept an eye on Heather as she convinced Snotlout and the twins to take her to my island along with Fishleggs when she brought up my library. Astrid however stayed behind out of lack of interest. All I know is this was going to be pretty darn entertaining with my dragons and animals keeping watch. I looked at my golden falcons and said.
"Take flight my eyes of Horus and fly to the Berkian teens approaching the island." As usual my falcon took flight and vanished as I said to the other. "Show me what your brother sees!" And the image of the teens docking in the desert was projected against the wall as I smiled. "This is going to be entertaining."
1 hour later
I was laying against the couch laughing my head off at the image of Snotlout, the twins, Fishleggs and Heather who were now in my wolves forest being chased by my wolves. Oh how I wish I could watch everything that's happened to them all over again. Ever since they came to my island they have been dealing with nothing but trouble from my animals and dragons. First I let them wonder my desert for half an hour with Heatwave making the occasional sand movement to twist them around and confuse them. After they finally found their way to the pathway in the desert and they made it to the crossroads I had Heatwave turn into a sandstorm to separate them. Snotlout and Heather wound up in my forest while Fishleggs and the twins ended up in my Mayan jungle and from there things just got worse for them except for Heather who was separated from Snotlout.
Man the memory's of the things that I forced Snotlout to go through would forever bring a smile to my face. First he did an arm vault over a large boulder not knowing about the small pond in front of it. When he did notice the pit he was too late and landed into the water leaving him soaked. When he got out he came face to face with a very annoyed Scorch who was not too happy to find Snotlout there in the forest especially since when he fell into the pond he ended up splashing Scorch in the face while he was getting a drink of water. Snotlout wound up running for five straight minutes with a burning butt until he fell into another pond filled with the sam muck that I tricked him and the twins into rubbing on themselves to make themselves good at dragon training. If that wasn't enough for him when he was crawling out a large branch fell on his head knocking him back into the muck and this time his mouth was open. I laughed so hard when he came out spat it out and laughed even harder when I saw the branch didn't just break but was broken by a little acid drool from Angel. I made a mental note to give her an extra helping of fish tonight. Once he was finally out of the muck he walked for a few moments before running into my wolves that proceeded to chase him up a tree where as far as I know he's still stuck with my wolves at the base guarding him.
The twins and Fishleggs weren't having an easier time in my Mayan jungle. Soon after they entered Fishleggs immediately went on to examine and talk about the different plants along with how different the jungle was to the forests of Berk. He was so caught up in the area that he didn't notice the twins had left him as soon as he began explaining things. Now the twins torment involved them first each continuously tripping over the various roots and vines followed by Chac and Kisa staring at them from the dark spots so only their eyes could be seen which really spooked the twins. This followed with Jocko and Gina pelting them with nuts from above while staying hidden. The twins kept going on about how the jungle was out to get them before Maya and Ah Tabai made their appearance growling at the twins. The two immediately turned and ran but unfortunately for them they ran right into a tree knocking them out cold. Jocko and Gina used this opportunity to mess with their hair by tying their hair together. When I saw this I just said that I knew teaching those two how to tie knots would pay off someday. The twins were in for a big shock when they woke up and I could only hope I was there to witness it.
Meanwhile Fishleggs began exploring the forest and like the twins was having a hard time not tripping over all the roots and vines but for him it was more difficult since he kept getting distracted by everything. Eventually he tripped over a branch right into one of the rivers I have running through the jungle to help keep the plants well watered and to make sure my animals had access to water. Poor Fishleggs wound up being swept away in the current of the river. I admit I was a bit worried he'd drown but he was able to get out of the water on the far side of the jungle. It was in this area where Nimla liked to roam through the trees and nap on the upper branches as she bathed in the sun. Today though I had ordered her to be alert for anyone who entered her part of the jungle and knowing Fishleggs he'll first be thrilled before wetting his pants and running away in absolute fear. My assumptions proved correct when he stumbled upon Nimla who was just curled up on a rock napping until Fishleggs came up and stood on a branch, which snapped and woke her up. He took a look at her and said she was the feathered serpent I claimed to have before she spread her wings and roared which in turn made Fishleggs run screaming with Nimla hot on his tail. Eventually he was able to ditch her but was now he like Snotlout was hiding up a tree to avoid Nimla. Unfortunately this tree was where Ikan's nest was so he had to deal with Ikan glaring right at him and occasionally pecking at his fingers.
It was as I was getting up I sent my falcon to see Heather and saw she was approaching the wolves den meaning she'd find the hall into my home so I better go and greet her. I stood up and made my way to the wolf's den through the hall. When I arrived I saw Heather looking around the den not even noticing me so I made my presence know by saying.
"Heather? What are you doing here?" She jumped slightly before looking towards me.
"Hiccup? I thought you were out patrolling with your tidal classes today."
"I came back since my tidal classes were getting hungry and decided to bring them back for lunch while I checked up on my animals. Now what are you doing here?" Before she could reply however I held up my hand. "You know what let's take this to the library since I doubt my wolves will enjoy returning to their den to find a stranger in here." She nodded before I lead her to the library where I made sure to leave the decoy book on one of the table with all three of the locks locked next to a bottle of squid ink I had. Once we arrived I turned to face her and asked. "Now what are you doing here." She rubbed her arm as she looked down.
"Well you see Snotlout, the twins and Fishleggs were using you and your tidal classes being out on patrol as an opportunity to check your island out and steal your dragon training manual." She sighed. "I was just curious about what your island was like." I smiled at her even though I knew she was lying to me but I needed her to think I didn't know.
"It's alright Heather and besides even if they got their hands on my book it's not like they'd be able to read it."
"Why's that?"
"I keep it locked with three locks and I keep the keys under strict guard."
"Clever but just out of curiosity where is the book?" I pointed to the book on the table.
"I was just about to start writing some stuff down in it when I heard you were on the island."
"Sorry about that."
"It's alright Heather! Now did you say Snotlout and the twins were on the island along with Fishleggs?"
"Yeah! They are somewhere on the island."
"Well come on then I'll call in one of my dragons to give you a lift back to Berk while I find the others." She nodded.
"Thanks Hiccup." I walked her outside and saw Violet. "Hey Violet could you come over here a minute girl." She looked up at me and squawked before running up to me. "Hey girl I need you to give Heather a lift." She squawked. "She'll tell you where and in the meantime I have to round up Snotlout, the twins and Fishleggs." I turned back to Heather. "Just tell her which way you want to go and she'll head that way so just point her to where in the village you want to go."
"Got it Hiccup and good luck tracking down the others."
"With those I have patrolling the island it won't take long to find them." With that said I went into the stable to get Phlegon since he'd be the best one to get me around the island to collect everyone.
1 hour later
I was on Toothless flying towards Outcast Island where Heather was heading with the decoy book and Violet. I smiled to myself before I muttered to myself about how it was all going to plan. I wanted Heather to steal the book so Alvin would get it but so he would have reason to want to make a bargain with me un order to get the keys. It was at that moment Outcast Island came into view along with Violet and Heather approaching it. I gave Toothless a pat on the neck and said.
"Let's make this look good bud!" He growled before we sped towards them and when we were right behind them I asked. "Is this the way to the village Heather?" She turned to face us and I saw the look of shock on her face as I yelled out. "VIOLET! STOP!"
Violet did just that making Heather jolt forward and drop the book towards the island. I had Toothless dive towards it to make things look good but we had to dodge the catapult fire and make a retreat with Violet. As we made our way back to the island I looked at Heather with annoyance written all over my face. I saw the fear in her eyes but from what I could tell it was from something else other than me. I looked at her and said.
"When we get back to my island I am throwing you in one of my dungeon cells and trust me when I say there's no escaping easily."
"Hiccup please let me explain."
"Save it! You stole my dragon-training manual and more importantly you stole Violet and put her life at risk."
"Hiccup if I could just-" I held up my hand silencing her.
"You say another word and I will have Violet fly as high as she can before she drops you." I saw Heather gulp before she looked down.
Half an hour later
I had just thrown Heather in a cell with Maelstrom guarding the door and was now standing in front of Violet and Toothless. I smiled at them before giving each a scratch on the neck as I said.
"Great job guys! Everything went according to plan and not a scratch on us." I then scratched Violets chin. "I'm really glad you weren't hurt girl and I'm sorry I had to put you in so much danger." She just squawked before nuzzling me. "Thanks girl."
After that I went to see what Alvin was doing with the book using my golden falcons. Turns out my book had been found by a gronkle who had taken possession of it. I watched as one of the Outcasts approached the gronkle calmly trying to get the book and lets just say it did not end well for him. After three more tries and two more Outcasts Savage was able to get the book to Alvin who he informed about Heather. When he saw the locks on the book he had Savage try to pick the locks, which resulted in the traps I set up going off. First an Outcast got hit with a speedstinger dart paralyzing him and when someone shook his shoulder to see if he was alright only for him to fall over like a statue. After that they launched a small blade impaling another Outcasts helmet before they released gas that knocked out three more Outcasts. It was then Alvin yelled out.
"Where are the darn keys to this book?"
"The girl didn't drop them with the book Alvin. They must still be with the dragon rider."
"And how are we meant to get them?"
"Well if the girl's still with him she might be able to get them from him."
"If she values the lives of her parents then she will."
"I believe she does Alvin after all that's why we took them hostage when we attacked their ship."
My eyes widened hearing this as it all came together. The Outcasts had Heathers parents and if she didn't do as they say then Alvin would have them killed. I knew I had to give the keys to Alvin to get Heathers parents back and make it look like I'm really frustrated about it. I knew if Alvin got suspicious I could just tell him I would reclaim the book later and I could easily beat any riders he had since I had experience when it came to dragon riding. Besides it's not like I was losing anything besides a bomb. First thing I had to do was deliver a message to Alvin about wanting to make the exchange of the keys for Heathers parents. I wrote the note and wrapped it around an arrow before heading out to get started on things.
Afternoon the next day
I was on my ship that I used for small island exploration in my regular armor on my way to meat Alvin along with a few of his men. Scaulder was underneath the ship so we could make a fast getaway if Alvin tried to take me down and if his name was anything to go by he would. Also on board my ship were Toothless, Maelstrom and Heather who had Maelstrom guarding her. I could tell by the way she was looking at my two-headed wolf she was afraid of what was going to happen. It was at that moment Alvins ship came into view so I turned to my dragons and said.
"Let's get this over with." When our ships were right next to each other I looked over at Alvin. "Did you bring who I asked for."
"Aye I did!"
"Let me see them!" Alvin gestured his men behind them before the Outcasts pushed a man and woman forward before Heather ran up to the side of the ship and yelled.
"MOM! DAD!" I knew that was proof enough that they were her parents before Alvin asked.
"You bring the keys?" I held them up for him to see. "How do I know they're the real keys to the book?" I just tossed him one of them.
"Top lock!" He used it before nodding to me. "Now you know that these keys are the right ones send Heathers parents over and I'll toss you the last two." He chuckled.
"It's a deal!" They dropped the gangplank between the ships and as Heathers parents began to cross Alvin held his sword out stopping Heathers father while her mother made it onto my ship. "The keys!" I tossed them to him before he lowered his sword allowing Heathers father to cross over. "You're a fool Hiccup! You just handed me the keys to Berks destruction."
"I'll reclaim it later since I have something any rider you train lacks."
"And what would that be?"
"Experience!"
"You do but not any smarts. NOW!" It was then every Outcast on the ship pointed crossbows at my ship as I rolled my eyes.
"So predictable!"
I whistled and Scaulder immediately rose between the ships knocking them apart before I signaled him to get us away which he was all too happy to do. Once we were out of their range of fire I had him stop before pulling out my spyglass to see if they would try to follow us. Fortunately they weren't trying allowing me to turn back to see Heather and her parents having a reunion with Toothless and Maelstrom watching. When they were done Heather looked down at the ground as she turned to me and said.
"Thanks Hiccup and I'm sorry you had to give up your dragon training manual to free my parents." I smiled.
"Heather I've never had a dragon training manual nor have I ever written one."
"But you just gave Alvin a-" I held up my hand silencing her before I uttered one simple word.
"Boom!" Surprisingly it was at that moment the bomb went off and after I used my spyglass I saw the ship was sunk while Alvin and his men were holding onto the remains of the ship to stay afloat. I turned back to Heather and smiled. "Did you really think I'd be stupid enough to write down how to train dragons and then hand it over to a man like Alvin?" She just rubbed her arm as she smiled and looked down.
Sunset
I was now on the Berk dock saying goodbye to Heather while my father talked with her parents. Heather was standing infront of me with Toothless and Maelstrom on either side of me. Heather smiled at me and said.
"I can't thank you enough for what you did Hiccup."
"It's alright Heather but next time you need help just ask and if you think of trying trickery again remember I've been through enough to know when someone's trying to play me for a fool."
"I'll remember next time."
She turned and boarded the ship my dad gave her family to return home as I waved goodbye to her. As she faded from view I remembered everything I've been through in my life and if it's taught me one thing it's to always be vigilant and expect the unexpected. However there are times when someone or something comes along which surprises me and I admit I like it when that happens since all it does is make my life more exciting. I admit though this was one of those times where I was surprised and it was a good surprise.
AN: Hey all I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and keep the reviews kind. Now for those of you who don't like me writing the episodes don't worry I'm not writing them all just some while the ones not written will be mentioned. Also to answer the questions of Guests I have not decided if Hiccup will train the dragons he wasn't able to train in the series and yes he will train the buffalord. In the meantime keep your reviews kind please.
