Chapter 73
Hiccups POV:
My dragons and I had just confronted the Sultan Raza after he attempted to steal my dragons using a group of bandits and I'm pretty sure he got the message about messing with me. If he tried again however I'd then hold him down before branding him on the forehead just to make sure he remembered the message every time he looked in the mirror. It would also serve as a reminder to his people and the other Sultans that I was not a person you wanted to mess with but I decided against it since he seemed to now understand that my dragons were not for sale. It was then the city came into view and I smiled since it was morning so Amira and Aamin's father the Sultan Rabdule would most likely ask me to stay for breakfast to discuss what happened since we didn't exactly talk it all out since it was still early. We flew over the city and received many waves from the people who were just walking out of their houses while some merchants were preparing their stalls. When they saw me, they began pointing or in some cases holding up their wares to try and bring my attention to the stalls. I just rolled my eyes and continued my flight towards the palace. We flew into the throne room through the balcony doors and saw Amira and Aamin who was holding hands with Kaamisha as they waited for us with their father and Kadar. They smiled at me as Angel dropped the bandit onto the ground. Kadar walked up and picked the bandit up saying.
"You all talk while I throw this piece of vermin into the dungeon." We all nodded as he carried him away before the Sultan said.
"It is good to see you again Hiccup but I do wish your arrival was at a more reasonable hour and your reason was a bit more pleasant."
"Trust me when I say the feeling is more than mutual." He then smiled.
"Never the less it is good to have you back and I know you just came by to drop off the bandits and wish to return home but I will not allow you to leave without at least joining us for breakfast." I smiled at him.
"I could never say no to breakfast with friends." He chuckled.
"And while we enjoy our meal you must tell us if you have gone on any new adventures since we last saw you." I unconsciously rubbed my prosthetic bringing Kaamisha's attention towards it before she asked.
"Hiccup, what happened to your arm?" Everyone's attention was drawn to my prosthetic before they all began pelting me with questions until Toothless, Webster, Dune and Angel all roared to quiet the room.
"I'll explain everything but it's a tale best told over a good meal." They all nodded before the Sultan clapped his hands.
"Then let us not wait another moment and head to the dining room immediately so we may fill our stomachs and you may tell us what happened." He then led us all out of the throne room.
Nightfall
I was in bed going over everything that had happened today after I was invited to breakfast with the royal family. Breakfast was an interesting affair and I'm not talking about the food being served but the conversations we had. The sultan along with everyone else asked me what had happened to my arm so I told them about my meeting with the Celtic gods and they were quite surprised. The Sultan commended me for having the bravery and strength to sever my own arm and then go on fighting with such a grave wound. He told me he could only pray to the gods for his guards to have that same bravery and strength when it was truly needed. They all asked me what my arm could do but I just told them that it was a secret since the last thing I needed was word spreading of its capabilities and get people asking for demonstrations while I'm out in the bazaar. After telling my tales I asked them what had been going on while I was away and from this
I learnt that Aamin and Kaamisha's relationship had reached new heights in their romance if Aamin actually proclaiming his love to her from the balcony in front of a large crowd of the people was any indication. When he told this story Kaamisha cuddled up to him smiling at the memory. I smiled at them when they did this since everyone deserved love in their lives and I only hoped I could find the same love in my life but love like that isn't easy to find. Still in their case I could see a wedding somewhere in the future for those two. Speaking of weddings, in a week multiple suitor from neighboring kingdoms would be arriving for a grand ball to celebrate the harvest. It's at this ball they would be able to try and win Amira's heart and with it her hand in marriage.
Once I left to return home Amira stopped me in the hall and practically begged me to come to the ball since it was more than often boring. She said with me there she'd at least have someone else to talk to besides Aamin and Kaamisha and it would give her an excuse to avoid some of the more annoying suitors. Knowing how annoying some nobles could be when trying to get your attention I agreed and promised I'd be back once the bazaar on my island was done and I had let my dragons and animals know about it. She nodded and thanked me for doing this for her. I sighed hoping that this party would at least be a little peaceful since the nobles wouldn't swarm me while asking me annoying questions at a ball but knowing my luck some of them might not be so bad but still bother me with their questions. I just hoped I'd be able to convince the sultan to talk his servants into leaving me alone during my stay.
1 week later
I've been staying at the palace with Toothless and Dune for four days now and in the week leading up to the ball not much happened. The bazaar continued without any more problems other than the occasional pick pocket who were easily dealt with, I altered my piranha tanks so the old water would be drained out of the bottom while fresh sea water would be brought in through pipes above the tank and I had informed my dad, dragons and animals that I'll be gone a few days to help out a friend. He accepted it but told me to be careful since trouble always seemed to find me no matter where I went or what I was doing and I could not agree with him more. I just prayed to the gods that this trip would be nice and calm without any monsters or bandits for me to fight but with my luck chances are I'd be clashing swords with a bandit a day after arriving at the ball.
Now it was nightfall and I was making my way to the palace ball room where the ball was taking place with Toothless and Dune flying over the palace in case of trouble so I could call them for help. I just hoped the nobles would leave me alone for the majority of the night and focus more on the royals and less on me since I didn't want any trouble. My prosthetic arm was hidden under the robes I was given to wear to this event since the Sultan felt it would help draw less attention to me if the people thought I was a nobleman from another kingdom. The robes were crisp white silk with a black and gold belt along with a few gold accessories to complete the look. Just to be safe though I wore a thin layer of gronkle iron armor underneath it and kept my eagle shield under the left sleeve and kept my star sword in my prosthetic along with my scimitar throwing knives and crystal spear. I also had my arm fully loaded with a purple, blue crystal, light blue crystal, red crystal and mist white crystal. I just hoped I wouldn't need to use them since all I wanted was a nice quiet night but knowing my luck I wouldn't be able to have that but one can always hope.
It was then I walked into the room and saw multiple people dressed in silk robes, some of which looked like a rainbow threw up on them along with hats that were so big that Sharpshot would be able to nest on them. I rolled my eyes knowing that the fashion of some of the nobles is something I'd absolutely never understand. I saw Aamin with Kaamisha talking to some noblemen who I recognized ran a city known for having one of the largest bazaars in Arabia and always had up to twenty camel caravans roaming the desert at all times for business. They were probably just trying to discuss opening new trade routes so it could benefit the kingdoms. The Sultan was busy greeting some of the guests who had just arrived.
It was then I spotted Amira and I had to bite back a laugh since there was a guy who I recognized as a prince from the party I attended that was interrupted by the forty thieves. He was wearing robes that we a lilac and red and on him it made me want to throw up on how the outfit looked. I could tell Amira was annoyed by him since the smile on her face was so fake a wooden sword would look like the real thing in comparison but I don't think the prince realized it. From what I can remember about that prince he was more arrogant than Snotlout and had no trouble showing off his wealth thinking it made him better than everyone else. Heck once when he was entering a city on a pure white horse two kids ran into the street in front of him spooking his horse. He then tried to whip them but I stood in the way stopping it while telling him that if he tried to whip them or any child again then he'd have me to answer to. He then proceeded to kick me into the mud saying I need to learn to respect my betters. When I got out of the mud I glared at him and said that he should take his own advice before he spat on me and continued into the gates while calling me a street rat. Long story short he was shocked to find me at the party and horrified to learn who I was since he had a message from his father who wanted to discuss business with me however before we could talk though the forty thieves made their appearance. Now I would've gone to help her but I decided I'd let her suffer a bit longer like she did to me when I was being bothered by women at the last ball.
I walked over to the table where the food was being served to pour myself a drink to enjoy while I watched everyone socialize. I looked around at the people and noticed the occasional server walk by but noticed they were also serving drinks to the guards. Now normally I wouldn't put much thought into this kind of thing but there was something off about this since from what I understood the servers were never allowed to offer guards drinks as wine would numb their senses. I know I was probably just being paranoid but in my past experiences what normally looked like nothing turned out to be big trouble. I picked up a slice of apple from one of the trays and began eating it but kept my eyes open while I savored the sweet taste. It was then the Sultan raised stood up and said.
"I thank you all for coming and am grateful to the gods for allowing you all safe passage through the desert." He then lowered his head in a silent prayer to the gods before he raised his head back up. "I hope you all enjoy your stay in the palace and I wish you all luck in winning my daughters heart." He gestured to Amira who had walked up next to him when he prayed before he raised his goblet. "Now a toast to our all our allies who have graced us with their presence in the ball room this evening."
Everyone including the guards raised the goblets before taking long drinks from their goblets including me. It was only a few seconds after the toast that I heard the sound of metal hitting the floor with groans followed by thuds. I looked around and found all of the guards had dropped their swords and fallen to the ground unconscious. It was then I noticed the servants who had served the drinks were all drawing hidden weapons that they were all pointing at the guests. As one of them pointed a scimitar at me I sighed as I thought to myself 'Oh great it's Rome all over again' before I allowed myself to be led into the crowd of other guests. I would've done something but I first wanted to see who these guys are and what these guys wanted out of this attack of theirs. Once fifteen men surrounded us the one who I assumed was the leader stood up and said.
"Alright you spoiled rotten cowards just behave and you will not be harmed." I have to say I agreed with his description on some of these people since I had met a few at the last ball and the way he described them was spot on in some cases. "We want each of you to hand over your gold, jewels and other valuables along with the locations to some of your kingdoms hidden vaults and we shall be on our way."
I saw everyone hesitate before the men moved the ends of their scimitars a little closer to the point where the tips of their blades were scraping the fabric of their clothes. When this happened, the people began handing over all their belongings. I intended to let them go through this and fly after them on Toothless to where their hideout is and then deal with them where there wouldn't be any possible innocent casualties. This plan went out the window when Amira refused to give up her mother's bracelet and I could tell things would get ugly so I stepped forward drawing attention to me as I said.
"Excuse me but do you think one of you could take me outside to steal my valuables because I've dealt with a lot of these people and would rather give up my belongings away from their stuck-up attitudes." The leader looked at me and nodded.
"Understandable!" He turned to two of the men. "Take him outside!"
The men walked forward and then lead me out of the crowd and out into the garden making me smile. As soon as we were on the far side of the garden I turned to the men smiling and held out my prosthetic hand for one of them to shake as I said.
"Thanks for doing this for me."
One of them took my hand but as soon as he did I quickly took a tight hold and activated my blue crystal sending lightning into the man who grit his teeth in pain as lightning zipped around his body. I then let go and he collapsed as the other guy got over his shock and quickly charged at me with his sword but I held up my eagle shield. The sword struck it and shattered as a shockwave blasted the guy back into the wall. He slid down the wall unconscious bringing a smile to my face before I heard footsteps behind me and quickly hid behind a tree to see who was coming. I frowned when I saw it was one of the bandits. He looked at his downed comrades before looking around for me but I stuck to the back of the tree before I noticed a rock on the ground. When the guy looked away I picked it up and threw it at the wall to draw his attention there allowing me an opening to take him down quietly. I smiled as he went to investigate the sound while I walked up behind him and when he was at the wall he turned around to see me smiling as I said.
"Hey, how's it going?" I then slammed him into the wall knocking him out cold as I looked up and whistled before two familiar shadows landed in front of me as I looked at my dragons. "Keep an eye on these three guys while I deal with the others." Toothless and Dune nodded as I began my walk back to the ballroom.
When I reached the outside, I hid behind the wall just outside the door and looked inside to see the eleven of the remaining bandits still gathering everyone's jewelry as their leader watched with a smile on his face. I ripped a hole in the upper right arm of the robe and released my throwing knives before I took two out and walked to the front of the door. I smiled as the leader took notice of me before I said.
"You know you really should get better men." Everyone's attention was now on me as I walked in. "Those men were almost too easy to take down." He glared before pointing to one of the men.
"Take him down."
The guy charged at me with his scimitar raised but when he brought it down towards me I side stepped him before slamming my elbow hard into the back of his head knocking him out cold. I didn't get the chance to enjoy my victory over one of the men before two more charged at me. I ducked underneath the first one's scimitar as he swung the blade before I pushed him into the wall and threw my two scimitar throwing knives pinning him to the wall by the shirt as the other one came at me but I when he tried to before I grabbed the blade with my prosthetic and channeled my red crystal which melted the blade and also burned off the sleeve exposing my golden arm. The man looked at his sword before turning to my prosthetic and then my face only to be met by my fist knocking him out cold. I turned back to the remaining bandits smiling as I asked.
"So, who's next?" That was all the incentive they needed before all of the men except the leader charged at me with their weapons raised in the air making me smile.
2 minutes later
I was still standing in the ballroom except now my star sword was in my hand, the unconscious forms of eight of the armed men surrounded me with their weapons either shattered, melted or simply broken and two more of men were pinned to the wall by my scimitar throwing knives. All the guests were staring at me with mouths agape and eyes widened but there was one set of eyes that held only fear as I sheathed the blade of my sword before it was pulled into my arm. I looked at him smiling as I said.
"So, do you want to save us a bit of time and surrender now or would you like to try and make a run for it?" He stared at me for a moment before turning around and making a break for the door as I sighed while shaking my head before muttering. "It's times like these I wonder why I even bother giving them a chance to surrender."
I then pointed my prosthetic arms open hand at him before launching it right at the fleeing bandit and grabbing him by his right leg. He fell down to the ground on his face before I began reeling him back towards me as he tried grabbing onto the marble ground to try and get free from my grip but my prosthetics grip was not something that one could easily be freed from. When he was right in front of me I let go but pinned him to the ground by keeping my foot on his back as I said.
"Running was a mistake but coming here was an even bigger mistake." I then channeled my purple crystal and prepared my stone of good fortune before I grabbed the bandit by the back of his neck and listened to him scream in pain as I branded him. "Remember this pain if you somehow go free and decide to return to a life of crime." He just gritted his teeth in pain before I let him go leaving a brand on the back of his neck as I looked up at the guests who were all staring at me. "I know I have some explaining to do." I then looked down at the bandit. "But first!" I slammed his head into the ground knocking him unconscious.
4 hours later
I was finally able to retire to my room with Toothless and Dune after three hours of nonstop questioning from the nobles about my arm, its capabilities, showing the weapons it held, being thanked for saving them and of course being flirted with by some of the visiting princesses. I was happy to finally be away from that room but knew I'd still need to deal with them since the royals from other kingdoms were sticking around for another week. I collapsed onto my bed and muttered how it was going to be a long week.
6 days later
To say I was happy to be leaving tomorrow would be a major understatement and with everything that's been happening who could blame me. I had to help Amira get rid of some of the most annoying guys I have ever met and they made Snotlout look bearable. I'd do this by walking up and telling Amira I needed to speak with her immediately when I saw one of the suitors was getting close to receiving a black eye from her. Some of the pompous suitors tried to shove me off saying it could not be more important than them but a simple glare from me was often enough to shut them up allowing me to walk of with Amira who was always grateful to get away from them. Sadly, I then had to deal with her going on and on about how annoying her suitors were with their constant bragging, talking about themselves and more.
If that wasn't enough I also had to deal with the guards who accompanied the suitors and now wanted to put themselves up against me to improve their fighting skills. Some of them were happy to just test themselves against me and accept the advice on how they could improve when I beat them but there were those who made me wager my god made weapons even though I told them they'd only work for me but they claimed once they'd beaten me they would work for them but those battles only ended with those guards unconscious and me walking away with new weapons for my trophy room. Then there was dealing with some of the servant girls who came with the suitors who constantly flirted with me despite it being clear I was not interested. After the first few girls came by and I turned them down I figured maybe I should give one of them a chance since they might be interested in me for me. Sadly, I learnt that none of them were interested in me like that when I overheard some of them talk about how I was a major catch with glory, money and an escape from their lives of serving pampered royalty and to a life of being pampered while relaxing in wealth. After that I made it a personal mission to avoid those girls at all costs but it was not easy and made me wonder if I'd ever find a girl who wasn't interested in my wealth, glory, etc.
Now it was nightfall and I was sitting on the roof of the palace with Toothless behind me as I was looking down at the garden wondering about my future since I did want my own family one-day and I definitely wanted children to pass my teachings onto. It was then I remembered meeting the naga's and how their alpha named Shesha wanted me to father her child. I was beginning to think maybe I should've accepted her offer on the condition that I was allowed to leave but be able to spend time with my child and play a major role in their lives. I shook my head knowing Shesha would never have agreed to it since it was the customs of her race and besides I was thinking about things that I still had plenty of time to gain. It was then I saw Amira walking through the garden, which was unusual considering it, was midnight. This could mean trouble so I mounted Toothless and said.
"Let's see what Amira is up to this late at night bud." He nodded before we silently took off after her.
10 minutes later
Toothless and I were sitting down on top of the palace walls looking down at Amira who was sitting on a bench in the far end of the garden and seemed to be looking around for someone. It was then I saw a figure in the shadows and got ready to intervene if I needed to but to my surprise Amira was actually smiling at the figure. When the figure walked out of the shadows I saw it was Jahid. He was the son of one of the lower ranked guards and is also one of the people who tend to the garden. It was then Amira walked up to him and then much to my surprise wrapped her arms around his neck before pulling him in for a kiss as he wrapped his arms around her waist. When they pulled away I heard Jahid say.
"I've missed you this past week my precious jewel."
"I've missed you more my gentle gardener but with all that's been going on you know why I can't come to see you." I saw him frown.
"I know why but that doesn't mean I have to like it." He then let out a small growl. "All those snobs trying to get to the kingdom or your father by using you." She frowned.
"I don't like it either having to deal with those idiotic snobs and their constant gloating when I prefer a humble man who knows the value of working hard." He smiled at her.
"Is that why you've been seeing me?" She smiled back.
"Well I can say it's one of the reasons I fell for you in the first place but you never told me what drew you to me." He caressed her face.
"It was your pure heart, kindness, willingness to help those in need and how to me you always seem to shine like the full moon while your eyes sparkle like the brightest stars." Much to my surprise Amira blushed and it was the first time I'd seen her blush.
"I wish we could be together but the laws state that I must marry a prince."
"Perhaps your father will change the laws if you spoke with him."
"I've tried talking to him about it but he refuses to listen when it comes to the law."
"Perhaps you could ask Hiccup to talk to him." I saw her raise an eyebrow as I also raised one. "He saved the kingdom from a demon, returned the kingdoms true prince to his people and family, captured the forty thieves, saved you, brought down more bandits while exposing a the ill dealings of the sultan of another kingdom and in doing so has become a hero of not only our kingdom but all the kingdoms of Arabia." He then smiled. "Besides that from what my father and the other palace guards including Kadar talk about the close relationship has with your family and how your father has come to consider him an honorary son." I was shocked hearing this since I knew the sultan and I had a good relationship but I didn't think he thought of me that way.
"I know about the relationship since at dinner father says how much he wishes Hiccup would drop by more often and I admit I wish he'd drop by more often to since me and Aamin think of him as a brother but I doubt he'd agree to help me with this." It was then I decided to make my presence known so I said.
"He might if you told him what you wanted help with." They seemed to go stiff as boards before slowly turning up to see Toothless and I looking down at them before Amira asked.
"Hiccup, how long have you two been sitting there?" I used my arm like a grappling hook to lower myself down while Toothless glided down.
"Long enough!" I looked down at my hand as I reeled my hand back into its proper place. "So tell me, when did this little love between a royal and a gardener begin?" I saw her blush before they began their tale.
1 hour later
I was now standing in front of Amira and Jahid who were both sitting on the bench holding hands after telling me their tale. Apparently they formed a friendship when they were children and as the years went by that friendship slowly evolved into love but in the beginning they were too afraid to tell each other about their feelings. The night they did reveal their love to each other was when one of the heirs from a neighboring kingdom lured her to the back of the garden where he molested her and tried to have his way with her since people rarely came to that side of the garden. Fortunately Jahid heard her muffled cries and came to investigate what was happening and when he saw what that guy was doing to her he picked up a tree branch before using it to strike him in the head, knocking him out cold. After that he held her as she cried into his chest as guards came to investigate the ruches. Once everything was explained the heir was arrested and taken back to his fathers kingdom to answer for his crimes and the last anyone heard he was stripped of his title and thrown out on the streets with nothing but a small bag of gold and the clothes on his back. However after the next night Amira snuck into the garden the thank Jahid for saving her before he told her that he would do anything for her. When he said this she couldn't hold her emotions back any longer and kissed him full on the lips. From there they'd secretly meet in the evening in this part of the garden to be together the way they wanted to but could never be in public. I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair and looked at them as I said.
"Well I'm happy to see you've found love Amira but I must ask why you haven't just told your father about this."
"It's against tradition for a princess to marry a royal who shall be the future sultan."
"Well he's your father first and he knows this so you should tell him." She looked down as I sighed. "Amira I'll be there to help you and let your father know how I can tell Jahib loves you for who you are unlike those stuck up nobles and heirs who only want you for your looks, wealth and power they would gain by marrying you." She smiled at me.
"Thanks Hiccup."
"Before we do though we need to let Aamin in on this since we may need his help to convince your father."
"I think your right but I think it best we only tell my father after all the heirs return to their own kingdoms or we'd have a riot." I nodded since I couldn't agree with her more on this.
3 days later
It's been two days since the heirs left and Aamin was told of his sisters' relationship with Jahib. The heirs leaving was definitely a thing of beauty to me since with them they took their stuck-up attitudes, their questions, their guards and of course their female servants. I wouldn't have to deal with anymore of their guards wanting to fight me, them asking me annoying questions that I've answered twenty times before, them thinking they were better than me because of their money and status but most importantly I would not have to deal with their female servants again. Seriously on the last day here I was never alone since one of those girls always took a place at my side and when one left to do Thor knows what another would quickly take her place at my side. Heck when I got back to my room after finding out about Amira's relationship with Jahib I found one girl laying on my bed on her side with her head propped up on her arm while she wore a purple version of the outfits Madhimaran forced women to wear when they fell under his control. She asked me to join her in bed so she could show me how she feels a true hero like me should be treated while in a palace. I called the guards on her but as she was dragged away she told me that there had yet to be a man she'd been able to get and those who presented a challenge just made things all the more fun for her. She then blew me a kiss before telling me that I'd see her again soon. I didn't like the way she said it and it was later I found out she was named Sadira and was known as the Seductress of the Sands since she was known to woo men no matter their status before leaving them all wanting more. She had apparently gained a reputation for turning even the most strong willed men into nothing more than puddles of goo who'd do anything she desired. I was just glad she was now out of the city since I didn't know what she'd try to do to me given the chance but I had the feeling I'd see her again in the future.
I was standing in the throne room watching the sultan for any reaction after Amira just told him about her relationship with Jahib who was standing next to her with me, Aamin and my dragons to the side. As he sat there, staring at his daughter while absorbing the new information I couldn't help but fear for Amira's relationship. It was at that moment he sighed and said.
"I am grateful you have come forward with the truth Amira but I am afraid I cannot allow it to continue as the rules of royalty states that you must marry one of royal blood." Seeing the heartbroken look in Amira's eyes I couldn't stop myself from yelling.
"FORGET THE DAMN RULES OLD MAN!" Everything in the throne room went so silent you could hear a pin drop as everyone slowly turned to face me as the sultan asked.
"Excuse me?"
"I said forget the rules." I sighed. "There's a good reason why you should."
"And what would that reason be?"
"You're a father before a Sultan and as such your daughters happiness should matter more than some ridiculous old rules." I gestured to Jahib. "If you're worried about him just using Amira for power than forget it because I've seen the way he looks at her and he doesn't see what those stuck-up nobles and heirs see when they look at her."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm saying when those suitors that came here look at your daughter they see and only see wealth, riches, power and a pretty face to have at their side and don't try to deny it because I've seen that face far too many times not to recognize it." I then gestured to Jahib. "Now Jahib here is a man your daughter has known from childhood and I can tell from the way he looks at her that he doesn't see what those suitors see but sees a kind girl with a pure heart who has truly captured his heart and who he'd be happy just to be able to sit with." I then looked the sultan in the eye and said. "If you have any love for your daughter you will allow he to be with Jahib and tell anyone who comes forward to complain to go bother someone else because your daughters happiness matters more to you than some ridiculous traditions." Everyone stared at me for a moment before much to my surprise the sultan began chuckling and said.
"Never lose that fire in your heart Hiccup for it will serve you well." I raised an eyebrow. "You are correct in how the nobles look at my daughter and I have never been blind to it but I hoped in those pieces of stone we'd find the diamond that was meant to be." He then turned to face Amira and Jahib. "Now I see the diamond was in the garden this whole time." He then stood up smiling and announced. "FROM THIS DAY FORTH PRINCESS'S SHALL BE ALLOWED TO WED THOSE THEY WISH UNDER THE CONDITION THAT THE PRINCESS AND HER SUITOR TRULY LOVE EACH OTHER!" There was silence for a few seconds before Amira let out a squeal as she began running to the sultan and pulling him into a hug while continuously thanking him while he just smiled and gestured to me. "It's Hiccup you should thank for he was the one who reminded me that your happiness matters far more than any old rule." She smiled before walking up to me and giving me a kiss on the cheek before returning to Jahibs side as the sultan stood up. "I better go inform the public about the rule being ended." We all nodded as he left before Jahib walked up to me and said.
"I will never be able to thank you enough for what you have done for me and Amira Hiccup Haddock but if there's anything I can do to repay you just name it." I smiled at him.
"Don't mention it but unless you can somehow get me a vacation where I can just relax with no bandits, no fan girls, no nobles trying to buy my dragons and no mystical beasts for me to vanquish in order to save the people of the land." I took a breath. "Just a nice peaceful vacation where I don't have to worry about anything besides relax and enjoy myself." He raised an eyebrow.
"Do you often fight mystical beasts when on vacation?"
"Nearly every time I visit a new land I've yet to explore for the first time."
"Yikes!"
"I know!" It was then Kaamisha walked up and asked.
"Why don't you use the mirror you wished for to have some time off?" I raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" She smiled at me.
"When I showed you the mirror I didn't mention everything it could do before you said and I quote 'Kaamisha I wish for the mirror' unquote." She took a breath. "I figured you'd find out what else the mirror could do on your own."
"And what can the mirror do besides help me train by providing me with different battle scenarios?"
"It only does that because it knows that's what you want it to provide you but it can create so much more."
"Like what?"
"Well if you recall the wishes I offered you it can create worlds like those along with anything else so technically speaking the only limit would be your imagination and to exit those types of scenes just say fantasy end."
"And you're telling me all this now?" She smiled and shrugged.
"I didn't tell you when I was a genie thinking you might not want it if you knew and also I figured you'd figure it out yourself." Aamin then chuckled as he walked up next to her and said.
"That's my Kaamisha!" Heput an arm around her shoulder. "Cunning and sneaky yet beautiful and kind all at the same time." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair as I looked at him.
"Agreed!" I then turned to Kaamisha. "Just to be clear the mirror will allow me to take vacations without any battles, annoying girls or egotistic nobles."
"Not unless you want there to be." I smiled.
"I think I'm going to enjoy the mirror even more now then I did before."
"Oh and if you want the fantasies and the training to stay separate you can split the mirror into two separate mirrors." She gestured separation with her hands. "Just place your hand on the mirror and think about separating it into a training mirror and a fantasy mirror." I rubbed my chin.
"That would make it easier since I won't have to walk into my training room when I just want to relax a bit and then be tempted into training." Kaamisha then walked up and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Hiccup I've seen you fight and to put it bluntly you kick major butt, no doubt because of your hard training but you also need balance so keep that in mind when you use the mirrors or when you're pushing yourself too hard."
"I'll keep that in mind."
At nightfall I returned to my island through my portal door with the weapons I got from my fights with the guards who challenged me for my weapons. I got a few hugs from my friends or kisses on the cheeks in Amira and Kaamisha's cases a kiss on the cheek. The Sultan told me that he'd send word to me through the bazaar when the weddings were coming but this got him a slap on the shoulder from both Amira and Kaamisha but he only chuckled. When I got back I received the usual happy greetings from my animals and dragons before I made my way to the training room to check out the mirror, which is where I am now. I stared at the mirror for a moment before I placed my hand against it and thought of what I wanted. Sure enough the mirror began to shine brightly before a copy of the mirror appeared except this one had a white marble framing instead of black. I pick it up and shrugged figuring I might as well give it a test run.
