Chapter 96

Hiccups POV:

It's been an hour since I found the secret passageway into the secret library with the book resting on the desk and to say I was shocked with what I discovered was a major shock. The book was in fact a journal going back centuries to the fourth rulers of Egypt explaining how what I now knew to be the queen of the black sand came to be. Centuries ago there was a crowned princess named Ahura who gave her all to please her father and prove herself worthy of being on the throne when he stepped down, dedicating years of her life to studies, training and so much more. It all changed when her father had a son who would be named new heir and pharaoh which was something she had spent her entire life preparing for only for as she felt to have it stolen from right beneath her. She found comfort in the arms of a high priest and they fell in love but their love was forbidden as a woman born to the royal family was never to be touched by a man who she was not related to or betrothed to and all those who they were to be betrothed to had to be of royal blood. They hid their love from her family who betrothed Ahura to the prince of a neighboring kingdom who intended to bring her back with him to his kingdom where she'd never see the man she loved or her family again. Sadly, her betrothed found out about the love her and the high priest shared when he walked in on them kissing but before he could tell anyone they killed him. Once he was dead the high priest tossed her his blood-stained sword as the guards rushed in and much to Ahura's horror her lover blamed her claiming he heard screaming as he was making his way back from the library and came to investigate what was going on only to find the princess killing her betrothed.

The guards took her to see her father for her crimes but she was able to convince him that her betrothed had been raping her and she was defending herself. The pharaoh bought it and allowed his daughter to go free believing his daughter was just protecting her virtue since the prince was apparently worse than the Jorgenson's when it came to arrogance. After that Ahura confronted the high priest who showed his true colors and how he was only using her to gain power, money and to get closer to her father. He bragged to her about how she wouldn't tell anyone without being exiled to the desert as she'd need to confess to her murder of the prince not being done in self-defense. To her the cause of all her pain was none other than her infant brother who she believed stole her destiny, her throne, her father and drove her into the arms of a manipulative man wanting her to further his goals. Seeking a way to gain revenge against those who had wronged her she made a deal with the dark god Seth through a dark ritual in which she summoned Seth to the mortal plane where they formed a pact of darkness and her fate was sealed as soon as she took the dagger Seth offered her. As soon as she took the dagger the signs of Seth inked her skin and her irises turned from a beautiful brown to fiery orange as they split into two on each eye. (AN: Picture the mummy from The Mummy 2017 since that's what this Egyptian adventure is based on.) The mortal princess Ahura was no more for she had been reborn a monster who would bring forth true evil into the world destroying it. After the ceremony was complete she took her revenge using the dagger by killing her father who she believed betrayed her, her infant brother who she believed stole her destiny and life from her and the high priest who intended to use her for his own gain using her feelings for him and those of betrayal.

After she took her revenge the ceremony that would seal the pact was near complete and the only thing that needed to be done to complete the pact was to bring the demon Seth to the mortal realm in the body of a mortal man. For this ritual to be done she needed a mortal man to complete some sort of trial to prove himself worthy of wielding Seth's power and this man was none other than the captain of the guards second in command and younger brother who was passed over many times for promotion in favor of his brother. Like her he desired revenge and the power to gain it and it was through these desires a love bloomed between the two and the man willingly did the test proving him worthy of the power. It was after all this during the final part of the pact in which Ahura would plunge the blade into her chosen one killing him before he would be reborn housing the demon Seth and all his power and together they would seek their vengeance on humanity. Fortunately the guards and priests caught wind of what was happening after discovering the bodies and stopped them by hitting Ahura with darts full of mercury and killing her chosen one before they captured her. In order to prevent her from completing the pact they had her mummified alive as they built the black pyramid. A pyramid built out of the blackest stone that has been guarded by fifty guards to hold her prisoner in darkness for all eternity or at least it was supposed to until Adio released her from her prison.

It was at that moment I noticed the flame on the torches flicker, which I knew, was a sign I wasn't alone since there were no windows and my dragons were outside the library guarding the door. This meant what was here might not be human. I then heard steps behind and quickly took out my starsword and pointed it towards the sound of the footsteps only to be met with a chuckle and someone saying.

"You can put that away Hiccup since you know I mean you no harm." Out of the darkness walked an elderly man who I recognized immediately and dropped to my knee while lowering my sword.

"It is an honor to once again be in your presence Ra."

"Please Hiccup stand up for you have more than earned my respect with what you've done for Egypt and her people." I stood up.

"So, I take it you're here to talk to me about what's going on with this queen and the minions of Seth."

"Indeed, I felt it only right to worn you about a few things concerning Ahura."

"What do I need to know?"

"First thing you need to know is that you can only defeat her by stabbing her with the dagger Seth gave her and then destroy the ruby imbedded in the top of the hilt."

"Understood but where is the dagger?"

"She's already collected the dagger during your battle with Adio and three of the four minions he brought with so while you fought them one was able to break into a hidden room and steal the dagger."

"So now all she needs is her chosen one to complete the pact."

"Indeed she does need her chosen one but she also needs the ruby that was separated from the dagger when it was first taken from her."

"Where is it?"

"Hidden at the bottom of an oasis far in the desert sands but her minions draw close to it and it shall soon be in her grasp once more so she shall only need her chosen one and that is where you fit into things."

"You want me to take her down before she has the chance to find herself a new chosen one?"

"She's already chosen her chosen one Hiccup and that man is you."

"Me?"

"She sent Adio and the minions of Seth to not only collect her dagger but to test you Hiccup and I am both happy and sad to say you passed her test."

"So she wants me to be her new chosen one but why me?"

"By defeating the minions of Seth and the man who released her you have proven yourself to be more than worthy to be her chosen one." He sighed. "I do have faith in you Hiccup but even the strongest willed warriors are not immune to greed so I ask you to be careful in your battle with her and not to fall to her will for the consequences for the rest of the world shall be dire and should you wish to know what I mean by dire I shall show you what I mean."

He placed his hand over my eyes before darkness consumed my vision as if I had closed them but when the darkness faded I was frozen by what I saw. I was standing in Alexandria but the city was in absolute chaos with people running for their lives as an army of the minions of Seth and what looked to be living corpses charged the city, killing anyone they caught before the dead bodies stood up and joined the invading army. I looked up as one of the minions flung a woman from the roof of one of the buildings to her doom after taking her infant child from her. It held the crying child to its chest and ran out of sight with it to do who knows what. I then heard battle cries and turned to see a group of warriors charging against the forces while a small group of people fled but sadly they were easily overwhelmed by the much more powerful forces and slaughtered. It was a nightmare to see so much destruction and pain in a place that held so much beauty and I knew I had to stop it from becoming any sort of reality. Ra then pulled his hand off my face and asked.

"That shall be the fate of not only Egypt but all the world should she succeed."

"I won't let that happen." He smiled at me.

"I know you won't but still be careful for when she was mortal she was still a very powerful opponent as she was gifted with the sword allowing her an advantage in battle." He sighed. "Add to this she possessed incredible beauty that she was able to use in politics as it allowed her to charm any male nobles or their servants into doing what she asked of them and there's no doubt she'll try to use those skills on you." I chuckled.

"Please if I had a single gold coin for every time a girl tried to use her beauty and charm to get me to do something and failed, I'd be ten times richer than Cleopatra."

"Don't underestimate her Hiccup for she is more powerful than you can imagine and in this case you don't have to willingly become her chosen one for as soon as that dagger pierces your heart you shall lose all sense of what you promised and feel only power and desire like she did as a mortal."

"I'll be careful but for now I need to know where I can find her."

"Follow the way the sun sets and you shall come across a desert of black sand and it is there you shall find her pyramid but beware Hiccup for she shall unleash some of her forces to bring you to her."

"I'll be careful Ra but before you go I need to know if there's anyway to make the guards weapons lethal against Seth's minions incase minions of Seth attack while I'm away." He smiled.

"Your concern for the innocent is truly an admirable characteristic Hiccup." He opened his hand to reveal a ring with his symbol on it. "Press this ring against any normal weapon and it shall leave not only my mark on it but also a small bit of my magic enabling them to do harm to Seth's minions and should you wish to mark arrows just press the ring against their quivers and the lot of them shall be mad lethal." I took the ring from his hand and placed it on my real arms ring finger.

"Thank you Lord Ra."

"It is my pleasure Hiccup but now I must ask you to retire for the night as you have a long journey ahead of you tomorrow."

"I will Ra and I promise you that I shall do everything I can to prevent Ahura from completing the pact and summoning Seth's army to bring about the end of the world."

I nodded before the torches blew out leaving me in darkness for no longer than a second before they reignited showing Ra was gone. I looked down at the ring on my finger and sighed knowing I'd have to use it on multiple weapons before I left tomorrow but I'd have to do so while explaining what I discovered to Cleopatra since I couldn't waste too much time. I extinguished the torches one by one before I walked back up to the library and made my way out before heading back to my house to rest but sleep didn't come easy to me that night. I knew the reason behind this was because my mind at this time was filled with thoughts of my now upcoming battle for the fate of not only Egypt but the fate of all of Midguard. Even when sleep came to me all I could dream about were possible battle scenarios on how I could possibly face Ahura and her minions of Seth.

Afternoon the next day

I could describe my morning in one simple word and that word is 'busy' as I didn't even stop to sit down to enjoy a drink or eat anything for breakfast. I ate a simple meal of bread and sliced meat while standing up as I used the ring to enchant the weapons in the armory and ones guards asked me to bless all while also explaining everything I learnt to Cleopatra who was shocked by what I told her. She requested I take some of her men with me to the black pyramid to help me face Ahura and her forces but I turned her down saying my dragons were the only forces I needed while the others would simply slow me down. Along with that fact I also told her that should Seth's minions return to attack Alexandria while I'm away she'll need all the forces she can get to help protect not only her but the people of Alexandria and she accepted this. As soon as I finished preparing the weapons I took off with my dragons in my regular armor since I didn't bring my battle armor but I did have all my god made weapons including my spirit bow and its quiver that now rested on my back. This all brings us to where I am now which is mounted on Toothless with Heatwave at our side as we all flew over the desert but the golden sands had long given way to sand that was black as night.

I had to say this area was so much more different than the rest of the desert and not just because of the color of the sand but because there were absolutely no animals, plants or any oasis showing there was not a single trace of life in this section of the desert. Along with that there was also the clouds that were blocking out any form of sunlight so a dark shadow fell upon the desert but the heat was still there. I remember how when I told Cleopatra about the pyramid she claimed the pyramid was in the desert of the condemned where only the worst criminals were sent to wonder until death from whatever the desert section had, claimed them. It was truly a horrible fate for anyone to suffer but this is why this sort of punishment was normally saved for invaders who tried to take over Egypt. The armies of Egypt would do everything they could to drive their enemies invading armies into the desert where the chances of survival were nothing and your lifespan was at most a week and that's if you had supplies to help you through the trip. It was another reason I didn't want any of the guards coming with me since there's a high chance some of them wouldn't be leaving this desert alive and not because of the upcoming battle.

It was then I saw something far up ahead of me and using my eagle eye I was able to see it was a pyramid made of black stone with large black clouds circling around the top of it. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that this was the black pyramid where I could find Ahura. When we were close I looked down to see what at first I thought were just normal statues until I used my eagle eye and saw they weren't statues but people who'd been burned so badly their bodies had been left petrified in the positions they died in which showed how afraid they were. It was then we had dodge to the side to avoid four sets of arrows that were fired at us and when I looked in the direction the arrows came from I saw four minions of Seth aiming black arrows with blue flames lighting the tips, loaded into black bows aimed at us with one holding a khopesh in the middle who was barking and pointing his blade at us. It wasn't that hard to figure out the one in the middle was giving the orders to the archers. I didn't get the chance to think about it for long since they let the arrows fly towards us and we had to take evasive actions to avoid being hit as I released my spirit bow and loaded up a fire arrow but when I picked the arrow out the entire thing turned pure white. I didn't dwell on this for long since they let loose another round of arrows aimed at us. I let loose the arrow towards the one holding the khopesh before we flew out of the way of the way of four more arrows as my own arrow flew towards them. It was then the minion of Seth caught the arrow mere inches from its face as it growled until the arrow glowed brightly temporarily blinding me. All I know was I heard roars and then silence before the clanking of metal. I looked down at where the minions once were only to see their golden heads and weapons on the ground with the helmet belonging to the lead minion falling down the steps. We came down to land on the spot where they once were as I looked around and saw no other minions but I kept my guard up. I made my way to the bottom of the pyramid where the entrance was as I drew my spear ready for a fight with my dragons following me down the steps.

When we reached the bottom I took a moment to walk up to one of the bodies that was looking up at the pyramid in fear while holding one hand up in front of its eyes while the other held a lowered khopesh that like the body was burned. I sighed as I looked down and shook my head feeling sorry for the man and all those who also suffered his fate of such a horrible death. I turned around to face the door as I told my dragons to take to the skies and keep an eye out for trouble before I began making my way to the door. As I did though I heard what sounded like bones cracking behind me and turned back to see what the noise was only to quickly dodge out of the way of the dead warrior who tried to grab me. He made another grab at me but I slammed the pole of my spear into the side of his head knocking it off before the now headless body fell to the ground lifeless. I didn't get the chance to celebrate since as soon as the body hit the ground two more dead bodies rushed at me except this time they were both swatted back by my dragons using their tails. I smiled at them as they crooned but we didn't get to enjoy our short victory for long as the other bodies came to life and began charging at us. Heatwave immediately turned into his sandstorm form and began blowing them back as hard as he could but a few were still able to get through it but not that many of them did.

They didn't last long though since either plasma blasts or a swat to the side from his tail was more than enough to take care of them. When a few of them got past him they ran straight for me but I used the pole of my spear to whack their heads off, the spear head to impale their bodies and then fling them into the others slowing them down. When I impaled them with the crystal end I'd get the same result I got when I stabbed it into a ships hull so crystal would burst from the body destroying it. As I stepped to the side avoiding another grab from one of the corpses I began wondering how many more of these guys were left. I ducked beneath another corpse and slammed the pole of my spear into its gut before swinging the corpse back into the sandstorm that was Heatwave before its head rolled back out. I knew I had to figure out some way to stop them and looked down at my spear and smiled as an idea came to me before I turned to Heatwave as a corpse that had been ripped in two was thrown out. It was then and idea came to my mind as I turned to Heatwave and yelled.

"HEATWAVE RETURN TO YOUR DRAGON FORM!"

He did so only to reveal that there were still at least thirty of the living corpses now charging at us so I tossed my spear with the crystal end facing the corpses. It struck the lead one who was running ahead of the others in the chest throwing him back a few feet in front of the others but when he landed I smiled as a crystal wall burst from the sand surrounding the majority of them leaving most of them trapped but there were still sixteen of them coming but I knew how to handle them. I turned to Heatwave and said.

"Turn back into your sandstorm form and then scoop them all up before sweeping them all into the crystal walls with the others." He growled and turned into his sandstorm form before flying towards them covering both the crystal and the remaining free corpses and soon they were all swooped up and thrown in with the others leaving them all trapped as Heatwave reformed into his dragon form. "Good work pal but things aren't over yet." Him and Toothless turned to me. "I need to take Ahura down to end this for good so take out the corpses now so I can get my spear back since I might need it." He growled before turning back into his sandstorm form and forming a sand tornado that made quick work of the corpses before reforming. "Nice work, now I need you guys to fly around the pyramid in case there are any more walking corpses to deal with while I handle Ahura."

Toothless and Heatwaves growled and nodded before they, took to the air while I pulled my crystal spear from the ground causing the crystals to shatter and turn to dust. I looked around at the dead bodies that were now torn apart before I turned away and charged towards the entrance. When I reached the entrance, I looked back and prayed to every deity I knew to protect my dragons against the undead. I used my spear to pry the stone doors open before rushing into the dark hallway lined with basalt statues of Anubis holding lit torches lighting the black marble hall. I kept my guard up as I walked past the statues that seemed to be looking down at me with dark eyes made of black jewels that felt as if they were looking into my soul. I did my best to ignore them as I walked down the hall eventually coming to the door but before I opened it I turned back to look down the hall to be safe but saw nothing other than the statues. I slowly pushed the door open using my spear since there may have been traps behind the door. When the door was fully open I found no traps but a hallway with stone caskets lining the walls which made me all the more nervous considering what I faced outside.

I slowly made my way to the center of the room before the sound of stone breaking filled the room and caught my attention. I looked around and saw the lids of the caskets were being broken open and the bodies inside were the ones breaking out of them. I didn't get much time to think about it though since one jumped onto my back from behind and tried to pull me down to the ground with its arms wrapped around my neck. I grabbed its arms and pulled them off my neck and threw the corps over my head and into one that was just climbing out of its casket. When they were dealt with two more charged at me from the front but I swung my spear pole at the legs of one of them smashing the bones making it fall to the ground but the other just stomped over it and kept charging at me. I stabbed it in the gut with the normal end of my spear impaling it before I swung it to the side sending it flying into another one before they both smashed into the wall. I turned around and saw three more charging at me as I took out one of my scimitar throwing knives before throwing it into the head of the one in the middle shattering its skull before the body collapsed while the other two continued to charge at me. I slammed the pole of my spear into the head of one of them knocking the head off it before I unfolded my eagle shield and slammed it into the chest of the other one that had just reached me and then lifted it over my head and throwing it into the side of one of the caskets. Sadly another three just came at me but I slammed my spear into the ground and slashed it towards the corpses making crystals burst from the ground. The crystals smashed into the corpses sending them flying back into the walls, caskets and into some of the remaining corpses before the crystals turned to dust leaving no evidence of them ever being there. I then ducked underneath another one who tried to pounce on me only to fall on the ground before I stabbed the crystal end of my spear into it making crystals burst out of the body destroying it. I looked around prepared to face the next walking corpse but I was relieved to find there were no more corpses left to fight and let out a sigh of relief but I knew this wasn't over yet.

I readied my shield to defend myself and made my way towards the door at the end of the hall holding my shield in front of me and used the end of my spear to slowly push the door open only to be greeted by complete darkness. I ignited my prosthetic arm using a red crystal before the power channeled into my spear igniting the crystal end and heating up the metal head to the point it glowed red. This allowed me a bit of light as I slowly made my way into the room with my shield held in front of me and my spear raised high to both light my way and to defend myself against any foes that attacked me out of the darkness. I slowly made my way into the room keeping my guard up and listened for any type of sound that would reveal a threat. It was then torches hung on the wall lit up with blue flames shedding the room in light and showing me what was in the room. I was standing on a path with pools of water on either side; on the opposite end of these pools were pathways with basalt pillars spaced five feet away from each other with either a potted plant or basalt statue of Seth's animal the Sha sitting between them, while decorating the walls were weapons with spears spread out in a fan pattern, axes crossed together and khopesh swords pointing in opposite directions with one above the other. At the end of this path were two black marble statues of Seth that reached the ceiling in height with khopesh swords facing the ground with the curved ends facing the walls. In between these statues was a stairway leading up to two thrones that had a minion of Seth standing guard on either side of each throne. Sitting on the throne on the left was a woman with the same kind of eyes Adio had, tanned skin with strange black tattoos littering her body, black hair tied up in a formal style wearing a loose white robe that I'm sure was made of silk and in her hand was a jagged dagger with a red jewel in the pommel. (AN: Picture Ahmenet and her dagger from the mummy 2017.) She looked down at me smiling and stood up from her throne and began walking down towards me as she said.

"Welcome Hiccup Haddock!" I pointed my spear at her.

"Ahura I presume." She smiled.

"Handsome, skilled, powerful, strong and smart, you truly are the perfect man to be my king."

"I'm not here to become your king Ahura, I've come to stop you from bringing forth the army of Seth's minions and the undead." She frowned.

"But why when the world shall be so much better for you, I and the people of this world."

"The people of this world would be slaughtered by the undead and the minions of Seth." She shook her head.

"Only those who are not needed and would come to oppose our rule shall die but the children shall be spared and raised to be our worshipers." It was then a wind picked up in the room before a short sandstorm passed by and the next thing I knew I was standing in Alexandria but the city was destroyed and Ahura was standing in front of me but for some reason I couldn't move. "It is true the world we know must fall but it is from the destruction we shall rebuild the world in our own image."

Another sandstorm passed and I found myself once again standing in Alexandria but it was rebuilt differently and not just the way things were built. The stone art decorating the buildings now had Toothless on them while the buildings were mostly made out of grey stone, the statues honoring the gods now only represented Seth, the minions of Seth were now standing guard at points where I knew guards stood by, people now only wore black clothing and some had tattoos of Seth, his symbol or Toothless. As strange as it may sound it was strangely beautiful. Ahura then appeared in front of me again and said.

"The world will be ours to mold as we see fit."

The sandstorm passed again and I was sitting on a throne in a throne room like the one I was in before but it was way bigger and there were large stepping-stones in the water with a large floor in front of the stairs instead of a simple wall to wall path way going around the room. Standing on the stepping-stones were minions of Seth, armed with different weapons, looking towards the path in the middle with their weapons at the ready showing their places as the guards in the room. On the floor in front of the thrones were a handful of people all bowing down towards me. I looked to my side and saw Ahura sitting in the same throne as before but when I looked down at the water and saw my reflection only to see an older version of myself wearing a black silk Egyptian tunic, pharaohs crown and holding a golden staff. I then noticed laying besides the throne on a black silk cushion was none other than Toothless except he was wearing golden bands around his front legs, he had thin golden chains with jewels at the bottom of his ear flaps, his eyes had golden eyes of Horus painted on, his saddle looked to have white silk replace the top leather and he looked to have a gold Egyptian ankh tattooed onto his fore head. He was standing proud in a way that reminded me of Snotlout after the Thawfest games when he received his medal so all in all he looked like a well pampered pet meant to be shown off to others. Sitting next to him was Heatwave but his yellow sandy scales had become black like the sand of the desert surrounding the pyramid and he had the feeling of death surrounding him as he glared down at the people at the bottom of the steps so he resembled more of a guardian beast like a guard dog except more vicious. It was then Ahura got my attention by saying.

"You shall have the power of a god and be worshiped as such and have the ability to increase the power of your dragons to new heights." The sand past once more and I was standing in a bedroom with a small pool of water full of none blooming water lilies floating in it, torches hanging on the walls bathing the room in orange light, a potted plant in the corners of the room, a bed with white silk sheets and pillows with a basalt standing torch on either side of it rested at the back of the room and was surrounded by a beaded curtain. "You'll have power over life and death."

She walked past the pool as her dress flowed in a none-existent breeze while the flowers in the pool began to bloom. She walked behind the beaded curtain before allowing her dress to fall down to ground leaving her body free for me to see but the curtain obscured my view. I blinked and when I opened my eyes I was laying back in the bed naked with Ahura gently laying on top of me and I had my arms wrapped around her waist. She leaned forward and whispered into my ear.

"And you shall have me, I will rule by your side as your loving and devoted queen and wife if you just give in." I blinked once more and I was back where I was originally before the sandstorms only this time Ahura was standing in front of me.

"I take it what I just saw was visions of what I'll get if I give in." She nodded. "I know your story Ahura, I know you killed your father along with his wife and infant son all for power so what's stopping you from doing the same to me?" She stepped back frowning.

"I loved my father with all my heart going so far as to dedicate my life to prepare to defend that which he loved most and all I asked in return was his love but when his son was born he intended to throw me away as if I were nothing." She sighed and looked down. "To feel such betrayal at his hands was more painful than anything I've ever had to endure." She looked back up at me. "I could never betray my chosen one and it's true for the ritual you will have to die but you shall be reborn a god and with our combined power we shall bring forth the army of Seth's minions to cleans this world."

"How would I gain this power?" She held up the dagger.

"I would plunge this dagger into your heart and you shall die for an instant like I once did before you shall return to this world reborn as a god but should you not be willing I will be forced to have you restrained but once you've been reborn everything shall be clear to you and you shall join me."

It was at this moment I knew how to get the dagger from her but it was risky but it was a risk I had to take so I walked up to her as I folded up my shield and collapsed my spear before it went back into my arm as I closed the distance between us. She looked at me as I raised my hand and gently caressed her face as her eyes widened in what I could tell was shock. I smiled at her and said.

"I look forward to ruling with you by my side as my queen."

"You accept my proposal and the power willingly?"

"There are a lot of bad people in this world and in order to defeat them I'll need the power you offer and like you said from the destruction a new world shall be built with us as its rulers ensuring peace and that is what I desire above all else." She smiled at me.

"I am glad you have accepted my offer without any force." I stroked my thumb across her cheek.

"For a woman of such beauty, power and vision I'd gladly give up my remaining limbs as I marched through the underworld to reach my goal." She leaned forward.

"You truly are a charmer and I to am looking forward to ruling with you as your queen."

She leaned in until our lips met in a kiss as I ran my hands down her arms until I reached the dagger and felt her grip on it relax allowing me the opportunity to quickly take it and pull out of the kiss. She looked at me shocked but before she could react I plunged the blade into her heart with my prosthetic making her gasp in pain as she looked at me with betrayal in her eyes as she asked.

"Why?" I just looked at her as I held the dagger.

"People are happy in this world without it being changed and I refuse to willingly have anything to do with the spilling of innocent blood."

"But the power I offer you-"

"Is worth nothing to me unless I've earned it myself through hard work, training or protecting those in need." I then glared at her. "You were willing to make a deal with evil to gain power and then killed those who loved you just to take more power." I began crushing the ruby. "I'd never help someone who would kill an innocent baby all for such dark power."

I then crushed the ruby into pieces as she screamed and her body turned to dust leaving only the dagger in my hand as I heard roars of pain and looked up to see the minions of Seth turning to black dust. It was then the ground began to shake as pieces of stone fell from the ceiling and things began to fall over like the weapons on the wall, the potted plants fell over as the statues fell over shattered or fell into the pool below. I immediately ran out of the room and made a break for the pyramids exit so I could hopefully avoid being crushed by the falling rubble. When I reached the pyramids exit to the outside I saw a stone door was coming down I released my crystal spear and threw it at the closing door with the crystal end being plunged into the ground while the regular end faced upwards. My spear held up the door but it didn't stop rubble from the ceiling falling down towards me so I brought out my eagle shield and held it over my head to block some of the smaller pieces while I had to dodge the larger pieces. When I reached the entrance I saw the stone door that was falling down looked ready to fall to the ground so I grabbed my spear and pulled it out from beneath the stone as I ran through the door. As soon as I did however the stone door fell like a rock but I didn't get much time to think about it since as soon as I stepped outside the sand had begun pulling me down and I noticed it was the pyramid that was slowly sinking into the sand like a sinking ship. Fortunately I heard Toothless roar and looked up as he swooped down and landed in front of me. I didn't hesitate to hop onto him and said.

"Let's get out of here bud."

After that we took to the air where Heatwave was waiting for us before we all took off away from the pyramid that was sinking into the black sands that was following it. Somehow it felt like the sand was pulling us in like one of the whirlpools made by submarippers except this was stronger than those. We were still able to break free from the pull of the wind when we got high and far enough from the pyramid to the point we could barely see it. I looked down at the black sand that was being sucked down with the pyramid leaving only golden yellow sand so it was like the black desert was being sucked down by the pyramid. We watched as the peak of the pyramid was sucked below the sands with the last of the black sand before there was a loud boom as the face of Ahura made of black sand rose into the sky screaming before evaporating into nothing. When it was done I looked around at the once black desert that was now turned into a regular yellow sand desert as the clouds broke apart allowing the light of the sun to full the desert once more. I smiled at the sight and had Toothless slowly land on the now yellow sand before I dismounted and looked at where the pyramid once stood. I turned from the sight and looked down at the dagger before I shrugged and said.

"It'll make a decent trophy from this adventure." I turned to Toothless and Heatwave. "Let's go home guys." They just growled and nodded before I put the dagger in Toothless' saddlebag and we took off.

Next day

Yesterday when I got back from fighting Ahura night had fallen and I went straight to bed but when I got up I began a very busy day with an explanation to Cleopatra. I flew to her palace where her guards immediately escorted me to her throne room. When Cleopatra saw me she immediately bombarded me with questions about what happened since merchants who passed the black desert had come and spoke how the sands were pulled away as if something was sucking up the sands into something. She feared something may have happened to me but I assured her that it was nothing to be worried about. She still had her guards carry me to her best healers and had them check every inch of my body for any form of harm. I admit it was a little uncomfortable at times but I knew they were just following orders. Once they were done the guards immediately escorted my dragons and I back to the throne room to talk to Cleopatra about what happened. When we arrived at the throne room where Cleopatra was waiting for us but as soon as we got there she immediately pelted with me questions on what happened with Ahura. I spent over three hours explaining everything to her and the guards who were present. When that was done she immediately called for a celebration to be held and that a grand ball was held with multiple nobles attending and asking me questions on what happened but it wasn't just the nobles who were asking me questions but the guards as well including Asim who was sporting a broken arm from when he was punched into the wall. They didn't just ask questions though since many of them made requests to me for a few things like giving their guards weapons the blessing of Ra, teaching their men a few of my combat moves and made multiple other requests.

Sadly during this time Henite had once again taken to latching onto my arm and walking around the room with me as if she were my date and this got more than a few nobles talking. Mostly saying we looked wonderful together, how we'd do well together, how there might be a wedding in the future and more annoying comments like those. This brings us to where I am now and that's walking into my house late at night after a long night of dealing with the nobles. I walked through the halls looking at the artwork as I made my way to the bedroom where I knew Toothless and Heatwave were waiting for me. I walked in and smiled at the sight of their heads perking up before they both walked up and nuzzled me. I chuckled at their antics and rubbed their heads as I said.

"What a night guys." Toothless tilted his head. "The nobles and guards wouldn't stop asking me questions about my battle with Ahura, some nobles made requests to bless their guards weapons and to train their guards, asking me to accompany them on trips to other cities as their personal guard, asking if we could give them a lift to the cities, trying to set me up with their daughter or nieces and so much more." I let my armor drop to the ground as I collapsed onto my bed sighing. "If that wasn't bad enough Henite took to latching herself onto my arm as if we were husband and wife since she refuses to accept that I'm not interested." I let out a sigh. "I'm beginning to wonder if saving the world was really worth it." I lay back on the bed. "I need a nice long nights rest."

I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep but when I opened my eyes I was standing on what looked to be some sort of marble ship. There were floating glass sails at the front, golden statues of the gods standing near the edge facing in, golden waves splashing at the side and at the back were stairs that looked to lead up to a throne. I looked around at the waters until a voice asked.

"Do you like my barge Hiccup?"

The sound of that voice made me freeze and turn around to see Ra standing there and not in his old man form but in his true form towering over me, hawk head and all as I realized I was standing on his solar barge Atet as I dropped to the ground bowing making him chuckle. (AN: If you're having trouble picturing the barge then picture the one from 'Gods of Egypt'.)

"Ra lord of the Egyptian sun, you honor me by showing your true form and allow me the great honor of standing on your barge."

"You earned the right with this battle Hiccup for should you have failed millions of lives would have been lost and Seth would rule over this world so rise and face me Hiccup." I did so.

"Thank you for the honor and I was just trying to do what needed to be done."

"Never the less you shall be well rewarded for your deeds starting with this."

He raised his hand making a black metal cage float out from the lower deck but it wasn't that hard to figure out something was in it. The cage door slowly openedto reveal some sort of dog with a black upper body, red lower body, curved snout, a tail that split into two at the end, red front paws with black hind legs, a gold and blue striped collar, bracelets of the same kind on both its front and back legs, two rings on its tail and large rectangular ears. (AN: If you're having trouble picturing it then google 'egyptian Seth's spirit animal' and you can find the image I'm describing there.) Seeing this creature I was stunned to the point where all I could say was.

"A sha!" It's ears perked up hearing my voice before it turned and stared at me for a few seconds as I stared back until it began slowly walking to me until it was five feet away and then much to my surprise and shock it bowed down towards me before I turned to Ra. "What's it doing?" He replied as if it were normal.

"It is bowing to you."

"But why, I heard it was meant to be the guardian of Seth?"

"Now that is a fine question Hiccup and the answer is, you are its master."

"How, since I highly doubt Seth would give me command over one of his guardian animals after I killed his servant and prevented him from being brought into the mortal realm to begin his conquest of humanity."

"I wondered the same thing when I first found this creature making its way across to the desert tracking you down." He looked at it. "I feared it may wish to cause you harm but then I studied its connection and found it had a connection to you but not one of hostility but one of complete loyalty." He turned back to me.

"How could one be formed between us when I've never seen it before?"

"That's where things get interesting, as it seems when you crushed the ruby in the dagger a small part of Seth's power flowed into your arm and was absorbed into our blessing connecting it to you." He turned to the sha. "We were worried at first but after we checked its mind our worries were put at ease when we found only the desire to find and serve you." He turned to me.

"Why though since I doubt it was just, the magic that made it choose me?" He smiled.

"This is true as it was the power that brought your presence to its knowledge but it was your strength, pure soul and the knowledge that you will treat it with kindness and respect which is something Seth felt it was unworthy of being treated to." He looked me in the eye. "These qualities are what drew it to you and it is these qualities that have earned you its loyalty." I looked at the sha who was staring at me intently obviously wondering if I'd accept it. "I ask you Hiccup, will you accept this beast into your care." I stared at the sha and saw a familiar pain in its eyes and then I realized it was the same pain I saw in Maelstroms eyes when I first freed him from his cruel master and I couldn't let any other creature suffer like he did so I nodded.

"I'll take it in but I don't know how to care for it."

"It's like a normal dog with abilities that you shall discover in time but its main home is the desert so that's something to remember."

I nodded until I felt something rub against my leg and looked down to see the sha looking up at me with its ears folded back. I smiled at it before kneeling down in front of it and gently scratched it behind the ears making its tail wag and lean into my hand. It was then Ra cleared his throat and I looked up at him. He was smiling down at me and said.

"I hate to break up this touching moment but I have a few other gifts to give you before I return to my home in the sky." I looked up at him.

"There's more?" He nodded he raised his hand and a tablet with a small golden ankh with a black gem in the hole at the bottom came out floating towards me until it was right in front of me. "The ankh imbedded at the bottom of the tablet was created by the god Anubis as a gift to you for saving so many souls from traveling to the underworld before their time which would have ended in Chaos." The tablet floated towards me. "It has also been imbued with a small piece of his magic and the tablet shall tell you what this power shall allow you to do but save that for when you return to the mortal realm." I nodded and placed it under my arm as he raised his hand before the image of a giant sphinx formed in the air before it turned into a small ball of light that flew into Ra's hand before he held his hand out to me to reveal a small yellow crystal sphinx. "This beast is a desert guardian and you shall need him in the future." He handed the sphinx to me. "Bury it in the sand and it shall be awakened as your loyal servant." I nodded as I examined the sphinx in my hand before I looked back up to him as another tablet formed above his hand before it floated down to me. "What is on this tablet may seem familiar to you but what it brings forth shall not be the same as the last." I nodded as he took out a vial and walked to the edge of his barge and filled the vial up with the golden waters of creation before walking back to me and handing the vial to me.

"Ra these are the waters of creation."

"Indeed they are Hiccup and with this small amount you shall create a spring flowing with them."

"But how?"

"When you return to your island you shall know."

"Thank you Ra."

"It is my pleasure Hiccup but before I return you to the mortal realm I have one last gift to give you."

There was a small flash and Heatwave was standing next to me looking around confused until his eyes landed on me and he ran up to me most likely hoping for an explanation. I rubbed his head assuring him everything would be all right as I looked to Ra hoping for answers as to why he brought Heatwave here. He smiled at me before he said.

"This gift is directly from me." He turned to Heatwave and pointed his staff at him before a yellow light shot out and struck him making him roar in pain shocking me.

"What are you doing to him?"

"Raising him to his true potential."

It was then Heatwave let out one last roar and then there was a bright flash that made me cover my eyes before silence. I opened my eyes and found myself back in my room with Toothless rubbing his eyes, the sha looking around and on my bed laid a simple rolled up scroll but what caught my attention was the dragon that was now standing where Heatwave was. He was looking down breathing heavily before he looked at me as I slowly walked towards him when it hit me and I whispered.

"Heatwave?" He raised his head and tilted it and that confirmed it. "What happened to you?"

His sand like scales had been turned to glass to the point where I could see through him, his eyes resembled sun stones, his wings looked sharper and he had five sharp spines running down from the back of his neck down his back. He looked down at his body and growled as he let out a shocked roar and began flailing around while roaring and growling. I ran up to him and grabbed him by the muzzle making him look me in the eyes as I said.

"Calm down big guy, I know this is a shock to you but we'll figure this out together." I turned to Toothless who was staring at Heatwave. "Right bud?" He shook his head and walked up to Heatwave before crooning and nodding as I turned to the scroll. "We might find a clue as to Ra did to you." I walked over to the tablet and picked it up before I read.

Dear Hiccup

What I have done to your sand phantom is nothing to be concerned about for I have simply evolved him into what your people refer to as titan wing stage of his life. With this stage comes the some abilities to aid it but these abilities are things that Heatwave must discover with your help. As for your other gifts they now lay resting on your bed along with instructions on what to do with some of them but as for the others, you will have to figure it out for yourself. Till we meet again Hiccup remember will always be watching over you and never stop fighting for the people of this world for you are a champion and in many cases their only true hope.

Ra

When I finished reading the scroll turned to dust in my hands and fell to the floor where the sha sniffed it until the dust blew into the winds. I turned to Heatwave and smiled as I said.

"Don't worry pal you'll be fine you've just gone through some changes that I'll help you with in the morning since right now I think we all need to just get some sleep to night." He growled and nodded before walking up to the wall, curling up and going to sleep as I turned to Toothless who tilted his head at me. "I'll tell you everything in the morning bud but for now it's been a long day so let's get some sleep." He nodded before looking at the sha as if asking what to do about it. "Just leave it be for now since it's not going to be causing any problems for either of us tonight." He didn't like it but walked up to the side of my bed and curled up while the sha lay down at the foot of my bed and went to sleep before I walked up to my bed and placed the tablets, the sphinx crystal and the vial on my side table to deal with them in the morning and went to sleep.
