Chapter 98

Hiccups POV:

I had just pulled the axe of eternal winter from the ground as it ripped my armor apart only to be blinded by a bright flash blinding me. I opened my eyes but quickly shut them at the bright light that shone into them as I groaned at the pain coursing through my body. I slowly opened my eyes giving them a chance to adjust to the light before I looked around and saw myself surrounded by clouds and sitting on what looked to be a rainbow. I let out a sigh knowing this was the bifrost and it meant I was officially dead. I slowly got up and looked down at my armor or to be more precise what was left of my armor. It was mostly just a few chunks that were being held together by the leather straps that I used to hold the joints together. I then noticed the axe of eternal winters was clutched in my prosthetic and knew I needed to find some way to destroy it to prevent it from ever falling into the wrong hands. It was then a voice from behind me asked.

"Are you done taking everything in?"

I quickly turned around to see a large man in dark blue armor with silver lining, a white cape and on his head was a dark blue helmet with four white horns sticking out of the front. I had been told of this man as a child and also had a statue of him in the room dedicated to worshiping the norse gods. This man was the guardian of the bifrost the ever-vigilant god Heimdall who was now staring at me. I immediately dropped to my knees and bowed my head towards him while holding the axe in front of me to show my respect for him. He chuckled and put a hand on my shoulder before standing me up as he said.

"There is no need for such formalities Hiccup for you have earned not only my respect but the respect of many Asgardians through your great battles and deeds."

"I have?" He nodded.

"Indeed you have and now your ancestors wait for you in the halls of Valhalla along with the gods who are also eager to meet you."

"How do I get there?"

"A Valkyrie awaits at the end of the bifrost to guide you to the halls and along the way help you prepare." I nodded before he allowed me to pass.

Half an hour later

Asgard was everything I ever dreamed it would be and so much more with buildings that went high into the sky while the air smelt so sweet. The Valkyrie who was assigned to escort me was a truly beautiful woman with long golden hair braided back while laying against her back wearing golden breastplates with a brown leather skirt and silver winged helmet. She led me to a building where my damaged armor was stripped off me before a group of young women proceeded to bath me in a tub of hot water. It felt good to be in warm water after fighting the frost giants but it did feel a little odd having someone else bath me. When they allowed me out of the bath they dressed me in a simple white fur robe before leading me to another room full of armor. It was here the robe was replaced with new armor that was silver with golden edging and a red cape that had golden clips with Toothless on them holding the cape onto the armor. When I put it on it was hard to explain but the armor just felt as if it were apart of me like a second skin in some way but at the same time different. Throughout this entire process however my eyes never left the axe of eternal winter since the last thing I wanted was for that axe to fall into the wrong hands while I was being taken care of.

Now I was being lead towards the largest building of all that I was told was none other than the halls of Valhalla where I'd meet not only the gods but many of my ancestors who were all eager to meet me. I came to stop in front of the large doors with the axe of eternal winter clutched in my prosthetic hand and let out a slow breath before the Valkyrie pushed the doors open. There was a bright flash when the doors opened before the deafening sound of applause filled the air as I was lead into the halls that I had been looking forward to see for so long and they were amazing. The halls of Valhalla seemed to be giant and endless with multiple long tables covered in so much food I think there'd even be enough to fill my dads belly, wooden pillars holding up the ceiling, a large fire pit burning in the center, at the end of the hall was a long table where the gods sat and in the center of this table was none other than the one eyed god Odin himself with his sons Thor and Loki at his sides, his all seeing ravens on his shoulders and his loyal wolves at his feet. He raised his hand silencing everyone before he gestured me over and I slowly approached him in fear since this was the king of the Norse gods who I've worshipped since I was a child. He smiled down at me when I reached the front of the table and stood up as I bowed to him and in a booming voice he said.

"Hiccup Haddock, long have we awaited for you to arrive here in the halls of Valhalla and now you have come after dying one of the most heroic deaths anyone within these halls could ever die." He spread his arms. "You sacrificed your own life to save not only Midgard but also the nine realms from the threat of the frost giants who no doubt would have brought about Ragnarok so rise Hiccup Haddock for like all others in this hall you have earned the right to do so in my presence." I did so but as I did Odin stared at me. "I can see something troubles you Hiccup Haddock, what is it?" I sighed.

"Don't get me wrong mighty Odin this is all amazing it's just I'm not ready for this yet, I mean I was hoping to live long enough to at least have a family and get all of my affairs in order like release my animals back into their natural habitats, spend most of my fortune to help those in need, say goodbye to all my allies, pass on all my dragon training knowledge to my allies, give Gobber the recipe for gronkle iron and so much more." Odin then much to my surprise chuckled.

"Don't worry Hiccup you'll have plenty of time to do all of that once you're back in Midgard."

"You mean you're sending me back." He nodded.

"The gods of the other realms and I have been in council for a long time about this, agreeing to return you to Midgard should you perish before you have fulfilled the destiny that has been laid out for you." He smiled. "Should have doubts about deserving to return to life then remember you knowingly gave up your life to stop Ragnarok and for that you have more than earned your life back among the gifts that shall be bestowed upon you when you leave." He sat back down. "For now though enjoy your time here in Valhalla as your gifts have yet to be fully prepared and the process to return you to Midgard shall take time to prepare." It was then I remembered the axe still clutched in my hand.

"Before that my lord Odin I must ask what of the axe of eternal winters?" He looked down at the axe and sighed.

"Such a weapon can not be left at play should it fall into the wrong hands again." He raised his hand and the axe floated into it. "I shall have it destroyed so that it may never endanger any one again but in the meantime you go and enjoy the food and some time with your fellow hero's." I nodded before turning back into the hall and walking down the tables where I was given multiple pats on the back and handshakes before I ended up surrounded by multiple warriors wanting to congratulate me until a voice said.

"Come on now men give the lad a little room to breath." They all stepped aside as a large man I recognized as my grandfather from his portrait in the great hall who smiled at me. "Hiccup Haddock the third, it's nice to finally meet the hero that son of mine sired."

"I take it you're my grandfather?"

"Axwell Haddock lad but you can just call me Grandpa."

"Alright grandpa and thanks for the save."

"Well you can't really blame them for being eager to meet you since we've all heard about what you've been up to on Midgard."

"Oh come on the things I've done are probably nothing compared to what the other warriors in this hall have done." Hearing this he laughed so hard he dropped to his knees as everyone stared before he stood up breathing heavily.

"Are you joking lad?" When I kept a straight face he went onto say. "You've seen parts of the world no Viking even knew existed, gone up against and slain beasts that would've slaughtered other warriors, you've fought demigods, trained powerful beasts, gained gifts and the blessings of foreign gods, fought the frost giants to save all of Midgard and to top it all off you befriended a dragon bringing an end to a war that's been going on long before either of our times."

"I was just doing what I could."

"Oh you're just being modest now lad but we can go over that another time." He put an arm over my shoulder. "For now though, we feast at the table with the rest of the Haddock men." There was a loud cheer from the men at one table before I was lead towards them.

Three hours later

The food in the halls of Valhalla was absolutely beyond amazing is the best description with the meat melting in your mouth, the soup going down like a warm dream, the bread outer shell was so thin but so crunchy while the inside was like a cloud and the mead on Berk never tasted as good as the ones being served. The company was great to since I met the first and second Hiccup Haddocks along with my great grandfather, my ancestors and the first Haddock. I also met the former chiefs of Berk who all told me that I would no doubt be one of the best chiefs Berk's ever seen. Surprisingly I also ran into Oswald the agreeable who thanked me for reuniting his children with each other, helping Dagur see the light along with meeting Mala, aiding them in defending their island from the dragon hunters and finding him so that his children could have closure. He then asked me to pass on a message to Dagur and Heather letting them know how he was looking forward to seeing them again in Valhalla and that when they went up against the hunters to protect their people he had never been more proud of them. I even got a whole lot of embarrassing stories about my dad from when he was a child like how he slept with a stuffed yak he named Mr Binky till he was fifteen and even then he still kept it on his shelf. I laughed so hard at this and so many other stories I was told about him when he was young.

It wasn't all good though since I also had to deal with some of the men wanting me to repeat my tales in more detail much to Odin's amusement but Odin got them to back off after his wife the goddess Frigg slapped him on the back of the head telling him to do something. After that he sent one of his wolves to drive off the men allowing me to enjoy my meal, before I did however I gave the wolf a pat on the head to thank him to which he just barked and begged for a piece of my meat that I was all too happy to give him.

Now however I was no longer in Valhalla but in Niddavellir, the realm of the dwarves and the birthplace of Odin's spear Gungir and Thors hammer Mjolnir. The reason I was hear was because the dwarven masters requested my presence and I was all too happy to come at his request and considered it a great honor. This surprised some of those in the hall until I explained that I myself was a blacksmith and as such I consider it to be an honor to be summoned by those who are considered to be the greatest blacksmiths in the nine realms. They all understood this before the Valkyrie who guided me to Valhalla took me to Niddavellir, which brings us to where I am now. Walking through caves where the only light was from the burning fires of the forges or the sparks made from weapons being hammered on anvils by the dwarven blacksmiths. Few of them stopped their work to look up at us as we passed but their looks only lasted a few seconds before their eyes returned to what they were doing. We eventually came to two single dwarves each with short hair with one being silver haired and the other being brown haired, both wearing simple clothes with a brown aprons over them as the brown haired one stoked a furnace never taking his eyes off the fire while the silver haired one sharpened a sword. Neither of them turned to face me as the one tending to the furnace said.

"We've been expecting you Hiccup Haddock."

"My apologies noble dwarves but you have me at a disadvantage since I don't know your names." The one with silver hair smiled and said.

"You have manners Hiccup Haddock to treat us with respect which is something the Asgardian's fail to do." He shook his head at this before facing me. "I am Brokkr." The brown haired one then said.

"And I am Eitri." My eyes widened at this.

"Wait a minute." They turned to me. "Do you mean the Brokkr and Eitri, as in the dwarf brothers who forged not only Odin's ring Draupnir and created the Gullinbursti but also forged Thor's hammer Mjölnir, one of the most powerful weapons in the nine realms?" Eitri simply replied.

"That's us, it's nice to see our work that was made in this forge is well known." To say I was stunned would be an understatement since as a Norse blacksmith meeting these two dwarves was one of the biggest honors I could ever receive so all I could do was bow to them as I said.

"You both have no idea how honored I am to merely be in you presence." They smiled.

"It's nice to be shown some respect."

"You both deserve only the highest respect in my opinion." They smiled at this before Brokkr asked.

"Do you know why we summoned you Hiccup Haddock?"

"No, I'm afraid not."

"We summoned you here because of your victory against the frost giant and how you save the nine realms including ours realm of Niddavellir." Eitri then said.

"You saved our world Hiccup and we cannot allow such a deed to go in rewarded." Brokkr then continued with.

"We wish to forge you a new weapon but we were also hoping for the opportunity to study your prosthetic arm."

"I'd be honored to wield a weapon forged by the two of you but may I ask why you wish to study my arm."

"There may be something in it we can use in your new weapon and we wish to make sure they are compatible." I released my starsword in its hilt form and hooked to the belt on the armor since I wanted to be able to defend myself if something happened before I took off my prosthetic arm kneeling down in pain as it came off and handed it to Eitri.

"Thank you for your trust in us Hiccup Haddock and rest assured it will not be betrayed for we shall return it to you as soon as we are done."

"Take your time since as I know from my experience in the forge you cannot rush art." They both nodded as Brokkr replied.

"Wise words Hiccup Haddock but in the meantime please feel free to explore our home and examine the work of our people." I nodded.

"I look forward to seeing your fine craftsmanship complete and in my hand." They nodded as I walked away from their forge to explore the home of the Dwarves with the Valkyrie following.

2 hours later

I had spent the last two hours exploring the dwarven tunnels by myself, examining the forges, the lined up weapons and armor, the blacksmiths at work and everything else the tunnels had to offer. What I saw was truly amazing and I'm not just referring to the architecture of the caves and forges. I was allowed to study some of the items that were crafted and discovered each of them to be unique in their own way by not only the inscriptions inscribed into them but the craftsmanship they were made with. Not a single item was the same, which only proved how masterful the dwarves truly were with their work and it mad me all the more excited to have my own weapon forged by two of their finest smiths. Still though despite all this I kept my hand on my sword since I was still in a foreign place and I knew from past experiences it best I keep my guard up. Now I was making my way back to the forge of Eitri and Brokkr to see if they've completed their work yet. When I arrived I found both the brothers on one side of the anvil with my arm in the center with two other dwarves on the other side but these ones were bald with the only hair being their beards that would rival my fathers in size with one having a red and the other a blond beard. They turned to face me as all four of them smiled before Eitri said.

"Hiccup you're just in time for the unveiling of me and Brokkr's masterpiece." He then gestured to the two other dwarves. "These are the sons of Ivaldi who have brought their own gift for you." I turned to the sons of Ivaldi wide eyed and asked.

"The sons of Ivaldi who forged Odin's spear Gungnir and the ship Skidbladnir?" They both nodded as the one with the red beard said.

"That is us Hiccup Haddock and we have come to give you a gift of our own among other things." He glared at Eitri and Brokkr as Brokkr said.

"It's very rare that the four of us come together to work on a project but for the man who saved the nine realms we put our rivalry aside to work together." Eitri then picked my arm up off the anvil and presented it to me as he said.

"Let's start with the thing we all worked on together." He handed me my arm. "While we worked on our gift to you we also studied your prosthetic and were very impressed with what we found but like many things there was room for improvement." The son of Ivaldi with the blond beard then said.

"We all worked together on giving it a few modifications to help you in the future." He then smiled. "Try it on now." I put it in place and prepared for the pain, which as always came quickly and made me wince, but then the pain faded and I looked down at my prosthetic before the son of Ivaldi with the red beard said.

"Think dig and watch you forearm." I did so and was beyond amazed when my fingers sharpened before my entire forearm began to rapidly spin as the dwarves laughed. "With that new feature you'll be having an easy time mining or digging your way out of some tough situation in mines." I smiled at them as my arm stopped spinning and returned too normal. "Also we gave it another thing to pack a little more power into your punch and all you have to do is clench your fist tightly." I did so before spikes shot out of the front of the knuckles. "It's not much but it'll add a little more to your punch." I smiled and said.

"If this doesn't get Snotlout and the twins to leave me alone I don't know what will." They chuckled before Brokkr then picked up a rock and said.

"We added another little feature that I'm sure you'll find handy." He then quickly tossed me the rock that I caught in my prosthetic hand. "What type of mineral is that?" I examined it but couldn't identify it before the palm of my hand opened and pulled it in and then a small blue crystal square rose out with the name 'URU' on it along with a bit of information on it. "That there is another modification to your prosthetic, it can now identify any mineral you want it to and tell you its properties so you might better use them in the forge." I smiled knowing it truly would help with my blacksmithing before the crystal turned to dust as the uru came back into my hand; I put it down on the table as the red haired son of Ivaldi said.

"Let's start with the gift from me and my brother." I nodded. "Tell me have you heard of the ship skidbladnir that we made." I nodded.

"Large enough to hold all the gods, their horses and equipment but capable of being folded up to fit in a pocket while always having fair winds in the sails and the ability to sail smoothly on land, air and water." They chuckled as the silver haired son said.

"It's nice to see our work is so well known." The other walked forward with a leather pouch in his hand.

"We heard you love to travel to new places so we built this to help you get to those places easier." He passed the satchel to me. "We hope you will use it well in your adventures." I opened the pouch and found a small ship that fitted in the palm of my hand before I looked up at them but before I could ask them what I was thinking the one with the red beard said.

"That ship is like the skidbladnir in its ability to be shrunk down and is indestructible with many rooms to aid you along with a few other abilities to help you but it can only sail upon the waters and be docked." I smiled and put the ship back in the pouch.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." They both smiled before the silver haired son said.

"When you get back to Midgard place it in the water and it shall grow to its true size and you shall know how to shrink it back down when the time is right but once it is shrunk back down there will be another ability for you to unlock."

"Thank you so much master craftsmen." They just nodded before Eitri cleared his throat gaining my attention.

"Onto our gift now." I noticed a smooth metal box in his hands. "As you know the mineral I tossed you earlier was uru, the same type of metal that me and my brother forged Thor's hammer Mjolnir from but we used it to also create the final gift from me and my brother." He walked up to a table and took a off it before bringing it to me as he said. "Hiccup Haddock allow me to present 'The Storm Cutter'."

He opened the box to reveal a double-headed axe with Norse inscriptions carefully carved into the blades on both ends while the handle looked to be made of a dark metal with inscriptions going down until the bottom that was wrapped in leather. I slowly picked up the axe felt immense power run up my prosthetic and into my body before I held my axe up making lightning shoot from the top. I brought it down and gave it a few practice swings that just felt so right before Eitri pointed at a target at the other end of the room and then to my axe. It wasn't that hard to figure out what he wanted me to do and I was happy to accommodate his request and threw my new axe towards it. When my axe went flying the sound of distant thunder echoed through the room until it hit its target and sliced right through the target like it was nothing. I held my hand out after I threw it before much to my surprise my axe flew right back into it. I stared down at my axe in shock as the dwarves laughed until Brokkr said.

"We imbued a lot of power into that axe Hiccup, including powers similar to Thor's such as the ability to command lightning but we did add something extra." I looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "When we first started on your axe your grandfather Axwell came to us with his an axe that he explained was his very first weapon that had seen him through many a battle." He sighed. "That axe had seen a lot of action and that is why it was in shape far beyond even our capabilities to repair but he didn't want us to repair it, he asked us to melt it down and mix it into your new axe." I looked at my axe. "We did as he asked so now when you strike an enemy with that axe your grandfather strikes them with you." I actually felt tears prick my eyes. "May this axe serve you well in battle." I looked up at them.

"You have no idea how much this means to me and I shall be grateful to all you dwarves until Ragnarok claims me." They all smiled.

"It is nice to see someone actually tell us how much the appreciate our hard work." I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sure those you forge show their appreciation." They grumbled about this before Eitri said.

"Please me and my brother forged Thor's hammer, one of the finest weapons in all the nine realms and never once has he bothered to come by to thank us." The blond haired son of Ivaldi said.

"We forged Odin's spear, a weapon that would never miss but we seemed to have missed receiving his gratitude for all our hard work." I let out a sigh knowing the feeling from Berk.

"I know the feeling about being unappreciated." They looked up at me. "I spent hours in the forge helping my mentor repair weapons, make weapons, ensure their ready for battle, handing them out to Vikings in need and I've never once have I gotten a simple thanks Hiccup or a good work Hiccup." I sighed. "Even after I became successful and started giving Gobber gronkle iron to make weapons and even help him nobody says anything." Brokkr then said.

"Looks like we're all unappreciated for all our hard work."

"Well I appreciate all you dwarves have done for me and the gods and know you all deserve only the highest respect which is something I'm going to discuss with Thor when I get back to Asgard." They all stared at me before Eitri said.

"But he's a god and son of Odin."

"That doesn't give him the right to brush off the hard work that you put into his hammer." They smiled at me.

"Thank you Hiccup Haddock." I just nodded before I made my way out of their cave and to the bifrost with the axe folding up and going into my arm so I could return to Asgard.

1 hour later

It's been an hour since I visited the dwarves and in this short amount of time a lot has happened. For starters when I got back to Asgard I marched up to the halls of Valhalla and confronted Thor about not bothering to thank the dwarves for their work. He told me that it was just a hammer but when he said this I yelled at him of the work and skill that goes into making a hammer like Mjolnir and how the dwarves deserve nothing but the highest respect for all their hard work and if he didn't understand this then he didn't deserve to wield Mjolnir. After that I walked out of the halls to calm my mind only to be intercepted by a Valkyrie who informed me that the elves of Alfhiem wished to meet me in their realm, which brings us to where I am now. Walking through the forests of Alfhiem being lead by a male elf with golden white hair tied back into a ponytail, a brown quiver of arrows on his back with a golden bow and wearing a brown tunic with gold headband. As we walked I admired the beauty the forest possessed that my forest seemed to lack before we broke through the trees to reveal a large wooden village that had incredible beauty and looked as if it were apart of the forest. When we walked through the village I looked around and saw how none of the buildings had harmed any of the trees and did so by actually being built around the trees. It was truly a thing of beauty especially the large twin waterfalls forming a river running through the village itself. Along the way many elves stopped to bow to me as I walked past to which the one leading me simply said.

"They respect you!" Before we came to a white gazebo that rested on a platform in the middle of the river with the water rushing beneath it and stopped at the front of the bridge leading to it as the elf gestured to the bridge. "Our king the god Freyr, awaits you in the gazebo."

I nodded and thanked him before making my way across the bridge to find a couch circling the edge of the balcony and sitting at the back of the gazebo sat the god Freyr and at his side was the golden haired boar the Gullinbursti. He smiled at me as he gestured me forward before I reached the middle of the gazebo and bowed to him. He chuckled and gestured for me to stand up as he said.

"Arise Hiccup Haddock for you have more than earned the right to stand in my presence with your victory over the frost giants." I stood up.

"You honor me kind hearted Freyr." He smiled.

"I appreciate the respect Hiccup Haddock but please look around at this forest." I did so before I turned back to him. "All of this would become nothing more than a frozen wasteland and breeding ground got the frost giants to create more soldiers for their armies to conquer the nine realms." He then smiled. "But you were able to stop those beasts from destroying Midgard, you also took the 'Axe of eternal winter' stopping from them, destroyed their leader and also freed the winters wings from their control ensuring they are never able to go through with their plan and freeing an innocent creature from their abuse." He stood up. "It is for these reasons I bestow upon you these gifts." He clapped his hands before three female elves wearing flowing white robes walked across the bridge two holding plates with what was on them covered while one held a small basket with a blanket wrapped around a small bundle. "Each of these girls holds one of your rewards." He gestured the first one forward and she did. "This gift is given only to our greatest heroes." She removed the cloth to reveal a bejeweled dagger sheath with a bejeweled dagger handle that I slowly picked it up and examined.

"It's beautiful."

"And it's meaning is powerful." I raised an eyebrow. "This dagger is a trophy and a sign of respect from the elves given only to the finest in the nine realms with the only others being in possession of those who rule Asgard and Niddavellir." I turned the sheathed blade in my hands before looking up at Freyr.

"Thank you." He just smiled as I put the dagger in my belt.

"You're welcome but these plants can not be grown like crops as you must fly over your forest and let the fall to the ground to grow naturally." I nodded. "Now then let's move onto to your next gift." The next girl walked forward and removed the cloth to reveal multiple bags with a small book. "These bags contain seeds to some the plants that grow is this realm while the book holds what information on what they are and their capabilities." I smiled down at the bags and book before loading them all into my satchel. "Now for your final gift." The girl holding the basket walked forward as I stared at the basket and saw the blanket stir slightly.

"You're not giving me a baby are you because I am in no way ready to be a father." He just chuckled.

"All though this creature is an infant it is not a child." The basket was handed to me and I moved the gold blanket aside to reveal a small wolf silver furred wolf pup that was snuggled up in the blankets sleeping. "That cub was the runt of a litter sired by the wolf Fenrir but as it was born a runt it was condemned to be a meal for the pack." Hearing this I felt sick to my stomach. "This cub was luckily able to escape but not unwounded however while one of the village females was out gathering herbs she found him unconscious, on the brink of death." He frowned as he said this. "Fortunately the herbs she was gathering were able to heal the cub but it has yet to awaken however we believe it would be best left in your care."

"Why?"

"In your possession you have a wolf-orthros that would've grown up to be a monster like its father however you intervened and in doing so was able to turn it away from that path and turn it into a truly noble creature." He looked down at the cub. "I hoped you'd do the same with the offspring of Fenrir and turn it away from darkness and into a beast of nobility." I smiled down at the little pup finding it hard to believe it was the cub of a beast that's said to be the most feared of Loki's offspring before I looked back up at Freyr.

"I'll do everything I can to help him become a noble wolf that shall help the world instead of ending them." He smiled.

"Thank you Hiccup Haddock now I believe you must return to Asgard to enjoy time in Valhalla before you must say your final goodbyes to your relatives until you return to the halls." I sighed hearing this but smiled at Freyr.

"Thank you for everything Freyr."

"It's the least I can do Hiccup Haddock." With that I returned to the bifrost but was careful not to wake the pup.

1 hour later

I was once again in the halls of Valhalla celebrating with my relatives with the wolf cub teething on a bone I put in its basket. As I ate some roast boar I thought back to what happened after I got back to Asgard. When I walked through town I got many admiring looks from the locals for some reason and much to my surprise I also got looks of admiration from some of the warriors all of which earned their place here in Asgard so it takes a lot to impress them. When I entered the halls of Valhalla I was surprisingly met by applause as I walked to the table where my grandfather explained everything to me. It turns out I had gained a lot of respect when I confronted Thor about him being ungrateful to the dwarves for forging his weapon. Apparently after I confronted him Thor had stared down at his hammer for a good five minutes before he stood up and left to speak with the dwarves about his hammer. Unfortunately for me it also got me a few a few Valkyrie admirers, which resulted in me getting multiple glares of envy from many of the men. I did my best to ignore them and enjoy the time I had with my family but now that wasn't the case. Now I was standing before Odin himself once more in front of his table with the other gods looked down at me. I saw Odin smile down at me as he said.

"Hiccup Haddock I trust you have enjoyed your time here in Valhalla." I nodded.

"One of the best times I've ever had in my life lord Odin."

"Good to hear now I understand that both the dwarves and elves have given you their gifts of gratitude."

"Indeed lord Odin they have."

"Good for now it is time for you to receive the gifts from us aside from the armor you wear." He gestured one of the Valkyries behind him forward with a large beer barrel. "The first gift is this barrel containing Asgardian mead, clean drinking water, beer and wine in an endless supplies of the drinks." He then gestured to the tap on the top of the barrel that had a ring around it with runes on it. "To switch the drinks just twist the ring to the rune representing the one you want and the barrel will give you that drink."

I knew it would no doubt come in handy and I was definitely going to be bringing the barrel to celebrations since I loved the taste of Asgardian meads. The Valkyrie smiled at me and placed the barrel at my side while giving me a flirtatious wink. Odin raised his hand calling her back as the next Valkyrie holding a desk walked forward but this desk seemed different and once she placed it in front of me I could see the details that made it unique. It seemed to be made out of wood that looked to be made out of gold, on the legs seemed to be carvings of the nine realms while on the tops edges were golden ruins that read 'TO THE ONE WHO SHOWS RESPECT TO ALL MAY KNOWLEDGE BE YOUR GOLDEN TREASURE', on the side of the table top were symbols of the gods, sitting on the four corners were blue candles, in the middle was a single sheet of paper with golden symbols around the edges and on either side of the paper was a book with one that had a green cover that had Toothless imprinted in the center of the cover while the other book had a black cover with red markings was a red eye that seemed to look out at me. The thing on the desk that caught my attention however was the nest made of golden branches sitting on the back of it where a raven was nesting.

"This desk was carved out of golden oak has been infused with Asgardian magic to aid you in your quest for knowledge while the raven is a hatchling of my own ravens and shall aid you in your quest by flying to the places you've been and gathering information from scrolls and books before returning and creating copies for your library." He then looked from the raven to me. "This raven shall also write the story that is your life that shall separate into different books showing the different lands and chapters of your life along with a journal of every beast you face with information on that beast." The desk was placed in front of me and I knew it would help me in the future. "And now for your final gift, I give you the true blessing of the Norse gods." He raised his hand before I felt pain from my prosthetic that came and went before I looked and found the symbol of Odin engraved with my blessings and then turned back to Odin.

"Thank you lord Odin."

"It is my pleasure Hiccup Haddock but before you go there is something you must know." I raised an eyebrow. "When you pulled the axe of eternal winter from the ground you absorbed a small piece of its power giving you an immunity to the cold but do not take this gift lightly for it may save your life one day." I nodded.

"That is good to hear and now it is back to your mortal body so it you better begin saying your goodbyes to your family."

I nodded knowing the time with my relatives who had passed was coming to an end but it would be nice to return home however it won't be easy to explain what happened to my father or the rest of my tribe. My goodbyes to my family ended too fast for me and then in there was a bright flash. When I opened my eyes I found myself standing in snow in the same spot where I pulled out the axe of eternal winter. I looked around and found myself surrounded by my gifts from the gods including the cub that was snuggled in his basket. Before I could do anything though I heard a roar and was pounced on from the side and covered in slobber by none other than Toothless. I laughed at this until I heard two familiar voices one yelling 'HICCUP!' and the other yelling 'BROTHER'. Toothless got off me as I looked up and saw my dad with a small group of men along with surprisingly Dagur, Heather and Mala rushing towards me. I stood up and smiled as I said.

"Hey everyone how's it going?" My dad scooped me up in a hug before pulling away with both hands on my shoulders.

"What in the world happened here?" He gestured to me. "Where did you get that armor?" He then looked at my gifts. "What is all this?" He then looked back at me. "WHAT IN MIDGARD HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?" I just chuckled.

"Dad it's a story best told in the warmth of the great hall in front of a roaring fire with friends and family." He was about to reply but Gobber placed a hand on his shoulder cutting him off.

"Stoick, don't bother trying to get it out of him now." He pointed at me with his hook. "He's got that look in his eye from when he gets back from one of his adventures meaning it's better to wait till we're in the great hall." He sighed as I greeted my ice loving dragons before he said.

"You have a lot of explaining to do." I then smirked at him.

"To you and Gobber or you and Mr Binky?" His eyes widened at this before he sputtered.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I just chuckled.

"Come on the sooner we get to the Great Hall the sooner I can explain everything." I had my dragons pick up my gifts as I carried the wolf cub before we took off to the Great Hall.

5 hours later

I collapsed onto my bed sighing heavily as I stared up at the ceiling with the wolf cub that was now named Adal was curled up on my chest as I gently stroked his back while going over everything that happened after we got to the Great Hall. I was sat down in front of my dad and when I did he ordered me to start explaining what happened starting at the beginning. I told them of how I saw the light and went to investigate what it was, how I was captured by the frost giants, what their plan was, how I stopped them and ended up in Asgard. I then went onto tell them about the gifts I received from the gods along with meeting my ancestors and the gods themselves. My dad explained to me that Toothless along with my ice loving dragons had come flying in freaking out and carried my dad and Gobber to where I was when I battled the frost giants. They found my khopesh still stabbed into the ground along with pieces of my armor, which was the clue something had happened. They searched all day and came up with nothing before heading in for the cold night but came back the very next morning to continue the search.

Gobber was practically begging me for the chance to study an axe forged by the same dwarves who forged the mighty Thor's hammer. I released my axe and placed it on the table for him to study since when he tried to pick it up he couldn't even move it an inch so he settled for studying it on the table. While he did that I talked to Dagur and Heather who told me they decided to visit for Snoggletog but then found I had disappeared and with their dragons helped search for me. After that I told them what their father said to me and saw tears in their eyes before they both hugged me tightly for delivering the message and told me I'd never know how much it meant to them.

Not everything went smoothly however since they didn't take the fact Fenrir sired Adal that well with multiple people claiming he was a beast that needed to be put down. When they said this I held Adal against my chest and summoned my axe to my hand before pointing it at them while saying that if they harmed one hair on his head I'd have their heads. They all gulped at this but one man didn't stand down and claimed the thing was the son of a monster and deserved death. When he said this I threw my axe when it was sideways facing him and pinned him to the wall as I told him never to say those things around me or I'd execute him myself. If the floor beneath him getting wet was any indication I'd say he got the message.

After that little rough patch things went pretty well with my beer barrel being a big hit with people lining up for the mead, the beer and when it came to the children water. Along with that it was also Snoggletog so I had to go back to my island to pick up the gifts for my dad and Gobber while also making sure my dragons and animals were all right along with checking up on the winters wings. The Winters Wings had built a small nest next to the island using its breath and kept it nice and cool but it was happy to see me again when I walked into its nest if the heads nuzzling me was anything to go by. I assured the heads I was fine and just ended up going on a little trip and needed to go once more but I would be back later to talk. I returned to Berk and celebrated Snoggletog with my dad, Gobber, Toothless and the rest of the village with my dad and Gobber loving their gifts but I wish Gobber didn't use his gift so publically. On another bright note the dragon eggs had hatched so now there were hatchlings running around the nests and they were all absolutely adorable but the Bewilderbeast egg had yet to hatch but I knew Alpha class eggs take more time to hatch.

Other than the party I went back to where I battled the frost giants and had my dragons use their heated breaths to do some excavation incase any of the frost giant survived. All I found was the golden buckle that was on the loincloth of Aegr showing that was all that remained of the frost giants. I took it as a trophy from this battle and a reminder of what could've happened if I had failed giving me more incentive to train hard. I let out a sigh knowing I didn't have any idea what this coming year held for me but I knew I had to take on whatever challenge I faced head on and not ignore it or it would just get worse for me when I actually dealt with it. This meant all I could do was enjoy the little things and the moments of peace that I had since I never knew when they'd come to an end and with these thoughts I let myself drift off to sleep.
