Chapter 142
Hiccups POV:
It's been four hours since I went to the village and told them all what I learned from Chi Metsu and my meeting with the gods. They were all shocked to learn the truth about those they thought to be snake demons but I could tell they were all still afraid of them so I figured it best not to have them return to the village. After that the villagers swore they wouldn't hurt any more snakes and even went so far as to releasing the ones they still had in baskets and I could tell they were happy to be free again. When that was done I used my forest arrows and pan flute to undo the damage the generals trap had done and learnt they'd taken the trap and locked it in the storehouse until it could be dealt with. I promised I'd come back for it when I could so it could be dealt with. All of this took me three hours before I felt like things would be all right and I began to make my way back to the cave where the snakes lived. Now I was back in the snakes' cave sitting on the bed and staring down at the box holding the rings Chi Metsu had given me wondering how to use them. The zheng lying next to me growled in concern making me smile as I gently rubbed it between the ears in a way that I knew all cats enjoyed. It was then a voice from behind me asked.
"Is something troubling you?" I turned to see Blanca standing in the entryway making me smile and shake my head.
"No it's just something Chi Metsu gave me before I left." She walked over to me before she sat down next to me as I showed her the rings. "Chi Metsu told me you'd know what to do with them." Blanca stared at the rings.
"They're magical wedding rings which would bind the two who wear them as husband and wife till the end of time." I smiled as I looked at her.
"What do you say then?" She looked at me as I took her hand. "Will you do me the honors of becoming my wife?" She blushed and looked down.
"Hiccup, are you sure you'd want me as your wife when you could do so much better and think about what others would think and say." I gently lifted her face so she was looking into my eyes.
"Blanca I know we haven't known each other that long but if I know one thing to be true it's that I love you and this time I'm not going to let you run from me or let another chance at love slip through my fingers like it has before." I squeezed her hand. "Blanca I don't care what other people will say since no matter what comes I'll be there for you even if it costs me my life." She stared into my eyes before she pulled me forward and into a kiss that I wish could've lasted forever but sadly it came to an end when she pulled away.
"I love you to!" She gently caressed my face as I smiled and took her hand. "Are you sure you want a life with me though?" I smiled.
"Does it look like I'd have it any other way?" She smiled. "I'm more concerned about how you feel about this." She frowned.
"What do you mean?" I sighed.
"Blanca, I'm an explorer and an adventurer, have been for a long time and even after we marry I'll still be travelling to new places, mostly for weeks at a time." I sighed and looked down. "I admit with my ability to make portals will allow me to get home faster but I always have to earn the blessing of the gods of those lands which is never an easy thing so I often don't know when I'd be back." I tightened my grip on her hand. "Along with this I'd be taking you away from the land you've lived in your entire life." She gently lifted my chin so I was looking her in the eyes.
"Hiccup, I know you're an adventurer and I know that whenever you do go on a trip to new lands you end up in some great adventure but you always do it to protect the innocent people of those lands." She gently rubbed her thumb across his cheek. "Your unending desire to protect the innocent is one of the things that made me fall in love with you and I'm not going to stop you from doing what you love." I smiled at her. "Hiccup I've never really had a chance to enjoy life here in China since it's always been about getting stronger to support my former master which are memories I feel are best left behind by me and the others." She rubbed her thumb across my cheek once more. "Hiccup I want my future memories to involve you and our new life together wherever it may take us and nothing is going to change my mind." I smiled and pulled leaned into kiss her, which I could tell she was happy to return before we pulled away as I smiled.
"So tell me, is there some sort of ceremony we have to go through with these rings." She giggled.
"They're meant to be used in a marriage ceremony but it's never been done before because of my former master forbidding it claiming it would weaken us."
"You ask me she just made that stuff about it weakening you all because it would have made you all more difficult to control." She nodded. "So how does this ceremony go because I want to be able to call you my wife as soon as possible." She just smiled and pulled me up before gently leading me out of the cave.
"I'll tell you when we get to the right place to do the ceremony."
I nodded and allowed her to lead me out of the cave and down the passageway but to where I had no idea, I trusted her though. Five minutes later we walked into a large cavern with a circular pool that glowed jade green and seemed to swirl as if it were alive while the walls had jade veins in the wall leading into the pool, as they seemed to pulse as if they were alive. I turned to Blanca with a raised eyebrow as she looked down before she said.
"This pool was the last gift Chi Metsu ever gave us." She tightened her grip on my hand. "She told us that it was to be used when we wished to bond with our lovers." A tear fell down her face. "It was the last time we ever saw her and our master told us we should never use it for it would only lead to pain as love weakens us." I gently wiped the tear away.
"She lied to you all." She looked to me. "Love only makes us stronger because it gives us something to fight for whether it be fighting to defend the homes we love or the people we love." She looked up and smiled at me as I smiled back. "So tell me, how does it work because when I don't think I can bare to look at you much longer," Her eyes widened in shock and hurt. "and not be able to call you my bride." Her pained expression turned to one of surprise and then a smile graced her face as she turned away to hide her blush while gently pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes, which I found adorable. "I have to say when you blush is when you're most beautiful." She giggled before pulling me towards the pool.
"For the ceremony we must place one of the rings on each others fingers while standing in the pool and hold each other in a kiss which is when we'll be pulled below the waters but we'll be fine." She looked down. "I will have to be in my demon form when we do this however." I smiled at her.
"Blanca, I told you before it doesn't matter what form you take I don't care, you'll always be beautiful to me and I'm including the form you took when you became a giant python." She smiled. "Now is there anything else I should know?" She blushed.
"Well we will both need to be free of any clothing besides the rings when we do this, cover ourselves before we enter the pool and only when we enter the pool do we shed our covers." I blushed hearing this. "You could use your coat as your cover." I nodded.
"When I remove my clothing does must it include my prosthetic and eye patch?" She gently caressed my cheek under my eye patch.
"Just your eye patch, your prosthetic arm can stay." I nodded.
"I have to warn you the thing the eye patch can be pretty intimidating at first." She smiled and gently reached behind my head and untied the leather holding the patch against my head and gently removed it as I kept my eyes closed until the patch was fully off and I opened my eyes making Blanca gasped showing the eye of the dragon to her but before I could say anything she whispered.
"The eye of the dragon!"
"You've heard of this artifact?" She nodded.
"It's a well known artifact of great power that many have heard existed but since all those who have seen it are dead it fell into legend." She gently caressed my cheek below it as she smiled. "I like it, it gives you an air of strength and authority." I smiled.
"Let's not focus on that now since for now I just want to focus on making you my wife." She smiled.
"Let's get ready then." She gestured to a large boulder behind me. "You need to undress behind the boulder and I'll do the same behind the one opposite of it." I nodded. "We'll meet in front of the pool and it best you come."
I nodded and walked behind the boulder shedding my armor and clothes before placing my grootslang coat back on to cover my body. I walked out from behind the boulder and up to the pool waiting for Blanca who walked up wearing a thin outer lair of her kimono as she blushed. I smiled at her as she walked up to me and nodded letting me know she was ready to begin as I smiled at her. She turned into her half snake form and gently pushed the parts of her kimono off her shoulders making it drop to the ground while I allowed my coat to fall to the ground. I did my best to keep my attention on her face but it wasn't easy since I was still a man and gently led her to the pool and found the water was like that of the pool at Precious Jade Workshop and we could step on it as if it were solid but made ripples in the water. We walked into the middle as I held up the box holding the rings as I asked.
"Who goes first?" She just smiled.
"We both take a ring and it begins with you placing one ring on my finger and then I do the same to you." I nodded. "You know the rest."
I nodded as she took one ring and I took the other before the box that once held them turned to dust in my hand before using my other hand to take her left hand in mine and place the ring on her ring finger. She then did the same to me placing my ring on my left ring finger before we embraced and I gently pulled her into a kiss. As soon as our lips met I felt as if my entire body was filled with warmth before I felt my body sink into the water making me feel like I was being covered in warm goo like when I jumped into lava only this warmth filled my body. I allowed the warmth to fill my entire being before everything went black and then I knew no more.
Morning
I groaned as I opened my eyes and was grateful to see that the light that greeted me wasn't too bright since that would no doubt have hurt my eyes. I looked around and found myself in the same bed I originally woke up in after my battle with the lead snake but this time I looked down to find I wasn't wearing anything except my wedding ring. I looked around and found my clothes and coat folded up next to my gifts from the gods but the one thing that bothered me was Blanca wasn't with me. This made me worry until I heard someone walking through the door and saw Blanca walking in with tray that held a bow of rice and cup of tea with a smile on her face while wearing her usual white dress. She smiled at me as she walked up and said.
"I'm glad to see you've finally awakened Hiccup." I ran a hand through my hair.
"What happened?" I lowered my hand. "The last thing I remember was embracing you in a kiss as we sunk into a pool." She set the tray down before she hopped onto the bed with me while curling her legs up as she gently caressed my face with that same smile never leaving her face.
"When the ceremony ended the pool lifted us both up to the surface with us both unconscious." I nodded. "When I woke up you were still unconscious so after covering my body I brought you back to the bed to rest." I smiled at her kindness as she lowered her hand. "When I saw you were stirring I went to get you breakfast." I smiled.
"Thanks Blanca but what about the ceremony?" Her smile widened a bit as she looked down blushing before looking back to me.
"It was a success." She rubbed her thumb against my cheek. "We are now officially married." I smiled and caressed her face.
"I can finally look at you and call you my wife." She giggled. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to be able to look at a woman and call her my bride." She smiled and leaned in before we kissed gently before Blanca pulled away. "So how long have I been out?"
"Not long, just a day." I nodded. "Now no more talking, your breakfast is getting cold" She then smiled. "my husband." I smiled liking the way it sounded before she got off the bed and walked over to the tray and brought it back to me. "While you eat I'm going to let everyone know you've woken up." I nodded and watched her walk out before picking up the chopsticks and begin eating.
Eight days later
It's been eight days since I woke up after marrying Blanca and that time has been filled with mostly travelling back to the Forbidden City. The traveling started with the snake who tried to sink his fangs into me when we first met informing me of a royal messenger arriving at snake catcher village looking for me. Knowing it could mean trouble I went to investigate what he wanted and found out he was sent by Chin Wu after he caught wind of the Generals defeat. He was asked to deliver a message to me letting me know that I was expected back at the palace as soon as possible to discuss things. I told him I'd need time to settle a few things first which he accepted and told me while I solved things he'd get the transport he was sent with to return me to the Forbidden City. After he told me this I took off back to the snakes cave on my kappa shell where they were all waiting to hear what was happening.
I let them know that I was going to need to leave for the Forbidden City for a couple of days so moving them to the island will have to wait a few days but I swore that I'd be back and even opened a portal door in the cave so I could come back to talk to them when needed. This calmed some of them down but then one asked how they know I could be trusted. I gestured to Blanca and let them know that she'd be accompanying me to the Forbidden City while I left Verta in charge and that Blanca would make sure I kept my word. This pacified them before I gathered up my gifts from the gods with the help of my wife and took off back to the village with Blanca and my zheng. I could tell the messenger and the men were shocked when they saw my zheng and were even more shocked when I introduced Blanca as my wife. They quickly got over their shock and began their mission but not before the villagers gave me a snake scale from the defeated snake demon which was all that was left of her and the Generals spear which was all they had left of him since his body turned to dust shortly after I was taken. I figured they'd make good trophies so I was happy to take them and promised I'd send someone to collect his trap as soon as I could. They then told me that I was always welcome in their village before I joined Blanca and my zheng in the carriage that the messenger had gotten to help escort us.
Taking us back to the Forbidden City was a small legion of horsemen who escorted us to a ship that took us down the rivers for five days. We docked in an area closer to the location of the Forbidden City where we were carried by carriage down the roads stopping in villages to restock on food and give the horses a break while allowing Blanca and I a chance to stretch our legs. During the time we were traveling me and Blanca took the time to just talk with each other and get to know each other, enjoying each others company, playing Chinese chess with a board we were supplied, enjoying watching the land go by and teaching Blanca Norse. It was also during this time I'd given my zheng the name Zhang Yong, which means brave since his species is known for being pretty brave when defending their territory.
Now we were making our way up the road leading to the Forbidden City where I knew Toothless was waiting for me along with Chin Wu and Ling Cho. I was hoping that I'd finally be able to fully examine and try out my gifts from the gods since with everything that's been happening I haven't had the chance to examine or try out any of them. I looked out the window watching the buildings go by as I smiled while Blanca was sleeping with her head on my shoulder while Zhang Yong lay at our feet on the floor. It was then we rode through the gates of the Forbidden City and I knew it was best to wake Blanca up since I knew she would want to see the Forbidden City. I gently shook her by the shoulder and whispered.
"Blanca, we're here." She let out a slight groan and sat up before smiling at me.
"How long have I been asleep?"
"Around three hours."
"Sorry if it bothered you." I smiled at her and gently caressed her cheek.
"Don't worry love, I found it to be rather comfortable and besides you looked adorable when you're sleeping." She blushed as the carriage came to a stop. "Let's go and greet the emperor and say hi to Toothless again."
She nodded as the door opened allowing Zhang Yong to hop out before I followed and held out my hand to Blanca who smiled and took it allowing me to help her out. She smiled at me as she walked out while the servants unloaded my gifts from the gods telling us they'd carry it for us and leave it in my room to which I nodded since I'm sure Chin Wu and Ling Cho would want to know what happened to me so I wouldn't have time to test them. Another servant then led us away claiming the emperor wished to speak with me immediately upon my return from my battle. We walked through the halls of the palace eventually arriving at the door to the throne room but before I could even step into the room I found myself pinned to the floor and being covered in slobber. It didn't take a genius to figure out it was Toothless who was doing this and all because he was happy to see his rider back and unharmed. I just laughed while trying to push him off me as I said.
"I'm happy to see you to bud but could you get off me since I'm pretty sure everyone here would like to know what's happened since we left the Forbidden City." He growled and hopped off me before turning and growling at Blanca who stepped back in fear as I stood up. "Toothless stand down, she's with us." He stood down as I turned to Chin Wu and Ling Cho before walking up to them and bowing but before I could say anything Chin Wu said.
"Hiccup, the emperor is pleased to see you have returned unharmed but wishes to know if what he has been told about you defeating the general to be true." I smiled and nodded.
"It's true Chin Wu, the general's no more and I also put an end to another problem." Chin Wu nodded but it was then he noticed Blanca and Zhang Yong.
"The emperor would like for you to tell him what happened but before that he wishes to know who this woman is and why there is a zheng with you." I gestured to Zang Yong who was standing at my right with Toothless.
"The zheng is named Zang Yong who was gifted to me by the gods among other things." I then took Blanca's hand in my left hand as I smiled at her. "And this is Blanca, my wife." I saw their eyes widen as Ling Cho asked.
"Your wife?" I smiled at him and nodded.
"It's a long story but yes, Blanca is my official wife, yes we are married and yes I do love her." He nodded.
"Clearly we have much to discuss." I nodded before I raised my prosthetic with my illusion spider out.
"That we do but I prefer it if I show you what happened instead of telling you." Chin Wu then said.
"The emperor permits this so please begin." I nodded and activated my spider showing them what happened after me and Toothless left.
4 hours later
I'd just finished showing them everything that happened to me after I left the Forbidden City to what happened when I gained control of the snakes. I could tell they were all on edge when they found out Blanca was a snake but calmed down when they saw her fight to protect me against the former head snake demon. I could tell they were shocked when I returned the stolen power to the snakes but when they tried to ask me about why I did it I held up my hand signaling them to keep quiet and watch. I had to say the looks on their faces when they saw me meeting with the gods and learning the truth about the snake demons not meant to be demons but guardians. I could tell they were impressed with me meeting with the gods and what happened afterwards. Now my illusions had come to an end and I looked to Chin Wu and Ling Cho as I said.
"Well now you know what happened with me and the truth about Blanca but I hope despite what you may think of her kind you'll treat her kindly." Chin Wu stared at me for a moment before he smiled.
"It is like the Snake of the Buddha said, she is not a demon but a guardian and that is something the emperor can respect." I smiled.
"Thank you your majesty I appreciate it."
"You are most welcome Hiccup but there is still much to be done to repair the damage done to my country." He then frowned and looked down. "I do wish I knew what could be done to help my people." I stepped forward.
"Hey, you don't have to do it alone." He looked up at me. "You've got Ling Cho and I'll be sticking around to help get things going until I know you can take care of things on your own." He smiled at me.
"I thank you for this Hiccup but for today you need rest from your travels and as a reward for your services to the emperor and my country you shall be given ownership of one of the guest houses in the Forbidden City." My eyes widened at this but before I could reply he continued. "I always had faith in you Hiccup so after you left I had one of the houses renovated and prepared for you so you may have a place to stay in the Forbidden City whenever you visit my country." I smiled at him and nodded.
"Thank you your majesty." He just nodded and clapped his hands before a male servant stepped forward. "He shall take you to your new house."
I nodded and followed the servant out with Toothless and Zhang Yong following Blanca and I while I wondered what this new house was like but I hoped it wasn't some big palace like place since that would be over the top. We walked for about ten minutes before we came to stop in front of a large single-story house. The servant turned to us and bowed before gesturing to the house as he said.
"This is your new house sir, I hope you enjoy it for the emperor arranged to have a small forge installed out back so you may continue to forge items." I nodded.
"I'm sure it will be comfortable for when I visit China." He nodded.
"During your stays you shall be well taken care of and treated as honored guests." I nodded. "This treatment shall include fresh towels and washcloths being provided for the wash room and sufficient materials for sustaining the light in your the houses lanterns." I nodded. "Your meals shall be delivered to the house regularly, as well as small snacks that shall be offered in bowls or other containers that can be located throughout the house." I liked the sound of this since I did enjoy the local foods. "The mail such as packages and letters shall be delivered to your door along with messages from the emperor." He then bowed. "I hope you find these accommodations to your liking and should you need anything please just speak with the emperor." I nodded and said.
"Thank you for your time, we should be fine now." He gave one more bow as he said.
"My pleasure sir." He then turned away and began walking but stopped and turned back to me. "And sir." I looked at him as he smiled. "Thank you for what you did for my people, my sister and her family live in one of the villages that the general took control of."
I just smiled and nodded before he walked away and turned to the house before I began examining it to see what it was like. Wide, stone steps were right in front of the houses front door in the center of the building. The steps themselves led to a tiled porch supported by stone pillars while the porch itself wrapped around the perimeter of the building. The house had four windows on the front facing out into the street with each window made of wood of a rich brown hue while each also had yellow shutters. The windows also looked to be on hinges, allowing them to fully swing open to let in the warm air of China making me smile. A white stone picket fence surrounds the building, enclosing the green grassy yard with sparsely placed trees and lining the perimeter of the house and its porch was a trimmed, evenly spaced line of shrubbery. All in all it looked nice but I wanted to first check out the interior and the back of it till I gave my final decision but to be honest I wasn't so big on having meals delivered with everything else. Blanca took my hand, making me stop my examination and turn to her as she asked.
"Are you alright Hiccup?" I nodded.
"Yeah, just a lot to take in." She nodded and looked down.
"I know how you feel." She looked at me. "I'm still having trouble accepting all this myself without." I turned her towards me as I looked into her eyes. "But don't worry, I'm here for you and I'll do everything I can to make you feel at home both here, back on my island or anywhere else in the world we stay." She smiled and giggled.
"The way you say that reminds me of when I realized I was truly in love with you." I smiled.
"You mean when we were in the Taoist chamber beneath the pagoda?" She nodded as I gently pulled her into my arms. "That was when I realized I was in love with you as well and it was also the time we had our first kiss." She smiledand caressed my face. "Let's go check out our new house." She nodded as I led her in.
Nightfall
It's been hours since Blanca and I arrived at our new house and that time was spent exploring the new house and enjoying what it offered. The main entrance opened to a large living room with a raised ceiling making it comfortable for Toothless and Zhang Yong to walk into. At the rear end of this room stood a stepped lounge, complete with a wooden railing further sectioning this area off from the main floor. The living room also leads to four rooms through elegant wooden doors, two on each side. I didn't have to worry about furniture since the house came fully furnished with things to make it more comfortable.
Each room has a large square carpet that sports a dark colored border with a light colored square center. In the living room, one of these carpets sits beneath a low-set dark wooden table. Surrounding this table are four lime-green pillows to serve as comfortable sitting areas. The stepped room at the back offers similar pillows strewn about the larger carpet in pairs of two, allowing the house's occupants to lounge around on them. Similar pillows wait in each of the bedrooms. Along with this intricate paintings are hung on each of the room's walls, each artistry different than the other. Green drapes surround the stepped lounge, all drawn back upon our arrival to the building. It is possible to lower all the drapes, the length of which would extend to the wooden banister below, allowing for the utmost privacy to encase the entire room in their dark green hues. Against the back wall of the lounge was a door leading outside to a patio while on either sides were windows looking out into the garden.
A small chest of drawers sits just beside the wall beneath the corner of the stepped lounge on either side, a simple lantern resting on its surface. Similar small desks sit in opposite corners of the room, but they carried either potted plants or finely crafted vases and pots. At either side of the living room's main double-doorway, and in the back corners of the lounge, tall blue vases stand elegantly with dragons painted on them. Stylish lanterns hang from the ceiling, providing vibrant lantern light to illuminate the warm colors of the interior. Wooden chairs can be found in the neighboring bedrooms set against the walls, should the guest prefer to draw them out in lieu of the room's current layout. To describe the bedrooms, there's a total of three with two being guest rooms that looked identical and one main bedroom.
The entrance to the two guest bedrooms were on either sides of the room looking opposite to each other with both holding a single queen sized bed at the end with yellow sheets covering the majority of the bed and silk pillows at the end. On the left sides of the rooms are windows looking out to the street and under each window was a desk with a chair, on either sides of the beds was a nightstand and above them lanterns hung on the wall. In the center of the rooms in front of the beds were large carpets that matched the one in the middle of the lounge and against the walls facing opposite to the windows were cupboards to hold clothing.
In the wall opposite to the one with the doors leading to the guest rooms were the ones leading to the master bedroom and the washroom. The room on the left is the master bedroom and it is a large room with a king sized bed in the center with yellow silk covers and matching pillows with a large window against the left wall looking out into the garden. On either side of the bed was a nightstand with lanterns hung up on the walls above them and like in the guest rooms there was a desk and chair under the window with pillows in front of the bed. Against the wall opposite to the window was also a large wooden cupboard that had a stand for my armor, which I was grateful for.
The entrance to the washroom was opposite to the door leading to the bedroom. On the wall where the guest room was on the other side was a tall mirror mounted to a large, wooden desk. This desk had a small number of wooden bars to hang washcloths on after use. Next to this desk against the wall was a rack with towels and a basket for used ones next to it. On the other side of the room was a large marble tub that could be filled with hot water that would be poured in via wooden pipe after the water was heated up outside. The way it works is the water is heated outside in a cauldron using a fire and when it's reached a good temperature the pipe inside would be pulled down opening up the other end in the cauldron so the water pours into the tub for a nice bath. Next to the bath were a few bowls to be used for rinsing or just washing a persons face.
The back yard is a decent sized, open grassy field so plenty of room to train in or just run around in with rocks jutting up from the ground, perfect to lean against if desired. I used the one in the center to create a portal door since it was big enough to hold the door. At the back of the garden was a large shack like house, which turned out to be the forge the servant, told me about when we first arrived at the house. It had a well-made forge at the back that looked like a Chinese dragon with its tail as the chimney and the head holding the forges flames. In the middle was a forging anvil with a water bucket next to it so I'd be able to cool the metal after it's finished being molded into whatever I like. Against the right wall were forging tools including molds and against the opposite was a weapons rack with a bin for metals I forge into things. I knew that with the coming days this forge was going to see a lot of action since I'd need to forge tools and nails for rebuilding homes, forging weapons to resupply the warriors and forging farming tools to help the farmers regrow their crops. I was going to be so busy I wondered if I'd have time to test out my gifts from the gods but it's like they say 'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift'.
Now I was lying in bed shirtless with my prosthetic arm holding my head as I watched Blanca lying next to me softly breathing as she slept while I gently stroked her hair with my real hand. While me and Blanca enjoyed the peace of our own bedroom, Toothless was sleeping on a slab of stone out in the garden while Zhang Yong was sleeping in the living room on the pillows. As I gently stroked Blanca's hair I couldn't help but feel guilty since I promised her a new life for her people and her but with the destruction caused by the general and her it was going to take a few weeks maybe months before I could give them this new life. I gently stroked Blanca's hair once more feeling it in the palm of my hand before I whispered to her sleeping form.
"I promise you Blanca, I will give you and your people the life I promised no matter how long it takes for me to get there." With that said I lay back into bed making it shift before Blanca cuddled up to me making me smile and just hold her knowing that tonight would be my last moment of peace since tomorrow is when things are going to get crazy for me.
AN: Hey all I know this was a bit boring but I did my best and was originally planning for this chapter to a lot longer but then I ran into the problem of what I'd put into the next chapter. I decided that without a doubt Hiccup will be getting his hands dirty, the gifts from the gods shall be used and their abilities revealed. For those of you who are wondering how I finished so fast the answer is the top bit was originally going to be in the last chapter but I cut it out and put it here at the beginning. Now please for the love of HTTYD review kindly and actually review since the past few chapters I've barely gotten anything.
