Chapter145
Hiccups POV:
It's been three weeks since I brought the snake guardians and Blanca to my island and in that time so much has happened on my island with its residents including me. To begin with I'd sorted everything out by organizing my gifts from Chin Wu with the treasure including the dragon being placed in the right rooms in my vault. The silks I was given were now in the storeroom while the scrolls and books were in the library while the artwork was now hanging in the gallery. Along with this the spear the general wielded is now in my trophy room hung up on the wall while the scale of the snake demon rested on a black marble pedestal that reached my waist in height. I'd also gotten around to place the dragon eye lenses away with the others but with things being so busy I'd yet to have the chance to see what information on the dragons of China they held.
Then there's my islands new residents, the snake guardians who with the help of Blanca and I, have pretty much settled into their new lives on my island with my animals now used to their presence and knew they weren't an enemy but allies. From there things kind of just seemed to fall into place with everyone finding their own thing to occupy their days with them all finding new hobbies and activities around the island. Most of them had taken to their true nature as guardians and began patrolling the island alongside my animals and dragons. It was because of their desire to be guardians that I had spent some time forging armor and weapons for them. This armor was mostly for their upper human torsos since their tails needed to be flexible so I stuck to making weapons for the tips of their tales like gronkle iron spikes, mace heads and blades.
They took to their new weapons quiet well and I knew they'd be a true force to be reckoned with when in battle. Those weren't the only weapons I provided them with since I also provided them with swords, daggers with along bows and arrows with a few of my disk bolas. They'd carry the swords on snake shaped hilts on their backs, the daggers in hilts on their human waists, the bows on their backs with the arrow quivers and their bolas in specially designed packs next to their dagger hilts. They'd been asking me for the permission to build guard towers but I already turned them down on that idea since there really weren't that many threats that could find my island.
Along with this Zhang Yong had found his own position on the island when he saw how close I was to Blanca he took it upon himself to act as her own personal guard. I thought it was actually rather adorable and I knew Blanca thought so to since she treated Zhang Yong more like a pet than a guard animal since he followed her around like a loyal puppy. Speaking of Blanca, my relationship with her had only grown stronger and because of this I ended up seeing Verta more often and was finally able to get her to stop calling me master and just Hiccup. For this I was grateful since I didn't feel comfortable being called master by anyone, especially when it was my sister-in-law who was calling me master.
Of course, Blanca and me hadn't spent all our time together since we did need some time apart since we both had responsibilities and hobbies of our own. I'd spend time enjoying my hobbies, tending to my dragons and animals, etc. while Blanca would explore the island with Verta, cook in the kitchen, read in the library, practice her Norse while teaching it to some of the others, paint different things or make new clothes which came as a surprise to me. Turns out Blanca has a talent for both making delicious food and lovely outfits that I knew would sell for a good price on the open market as would her artwork. It was during these times of peace I'd been busy in the forge building weapons of China and of course drawing up designs for new automatons. I'd been working on one for an aquatic automaton like my fish scouts but these ones weren't going to be small fish but large sharks with a different purpose from simply scouting out old ships. These automatons would be able to drill through the hulls of old shipwrecks to get at their contents and scoop them up into their stomachs, which were storage units. I would save me some trouble of needing to go and raid the shipwrecks myself thus saving me the risk since I can't count the number of times old parts of the ship nearly fell on me.
During these times like always I ended up getting lost in thought while planning and like always I ended up losing track of time and what was happening around me. Now however I had Blanca to bring me out of these times when she'd come by my forge to check up on me and occasionally bring me a cup of tea and a snack she made. This was always something I enjoyed since it gave me breaks from working on my designs and helped me think of new ideas for my automatons and clear my head a bit. It was also during these times me and Blanca would sit down together and just talk about how things were going on the island, plans for our future and surprisingly Blanca would offer her own ideas for possible automatons. These ideas of course served as inspiration for new automaton ideas but they would take time to design and just as much time to build. Blanca seemed to just be happy that I took inspiration from her ideas, which Verta claimed were just crazy ideas that would never come to be. When she said that I just shrugged and let her know that things that most of my crazy ideas turned into major success's that benefited my island to which she just nodded and slithered off to join the patrols.
Other than that, my minds mostly been full of worry about how my parents are going to react to Blanca but to be honest, I couldn't care less about their opinions. I'd been having a hard time finding a girl like her, a girl who just likes me for me and not my riches, my fame, my status or anything else. It didn't help that whenever I did find a girl like that they were taken from me in some way right before my eyes which made it all the more painful for me. It was this pain that made me all the more determined to keep Blanca at my side and ignore whatever my parents' opinion was if it was negative. Sadly, Blanca didn't feel the same way since she feared they wouldn't approve of her because she wasn't human and might feel she's not a good match for me. Because of her fear I spent hours telling her that what she was didn't matter to me nor did my parents opinion of her since she was my wife and I loved her and always would no matter what. The first time I told her this led to a repeat of what happened in the chamber where we shared our first kiss and where I first realized I was in love.
Presently I was in the Celtic fields with Toothless and Zhang Yong lying on either side of Blanca and I who was allowing me to use her lap as a pillow while I lay down on the ground with a gentle breeze running through my hair and my wife gently playing with my hair. My eyes were closed as I thought back on the past few weeks since we got back, which I admit had been pretty busy but all worth it with how things were going now. There was only one thing I was worried about and that was my parents who I could tell were worried about me from what I saw with my golden falcons. It was because of this that I sent them a letter yesterday, using Ikan letting them know I was back, I was all right and invited them to my island for dinner tonight. I was hoping that before then I'd be able to figure out a way to tell them about Blanca. I knew I couldn't keep what she was a secret forever but I needed time to think of how to put it knowing that my dad would more than likely throttle me just for keeping Blanca a secret from them. I sighed as I closed my eyes and just enjoyed the peace this part of my island offered me which was only increased by the comfort being with my wife brought me.
Wolves Forest
Nobodies POV:
Stoick and Valka had landed Skullcrusher and Cloudjumper in the Bewilderbeast nest on Hiccups Island a few minutes ago. The reason they were here on his island was he invited them to dinner and they decided to come early to find out what happened in China that would keep him away for so long. They were hoping it wasn't anything serious like another life risking adventure in which he had to go up against some sort of demon in order to protect the people. Whenever he came back telling them of these types of adventures they'd always be so worried that he'd lost another limb or fallen under the control of some sort of evil witch or demon intent on using him to take over the world. This time however they were hoping he'd just gotten swept up in the culture and lost track of how many days had passed by since he arrived.
Presently they were making their way down a path through Hiccups forest where the wolf pack lives but Stoick was on edge and kept darting his head around. This was something Valka took note of and placed her hand on his arm gaining his attention as she looked up at him in concern. He recognized the look on her face before he sighed and said.
"Sorry Val, I just can't shake the feeling we're being watched." It was then a whistling sound echoed through the trees and before either of them could react they were each struck and tied up by one of Hiccups disk bolas making them fall to the ground with Stoicks helmet falling off as he hit the ground. "Odin's beard!" Valka then asked.
"What's going on?" She struggled a bit. "I thought Hiccups ninjas were aware we're welcome on the island." It was then a hissing sound caught their attention and their eyes widened at the sight of the creatures with upper torsos of humans wearing chest plates and metal wristbands while their lower torsos were those of snakes.
"What are you demons doing?" One with a baldhead slithered up.
"We don't take kindly to trespassers on our masters island." This brought worry to them since they feared someone else had taken over Hiccups Island while he was away.
"You damn sea serpents, let me go so I can end you." Valka followed this up with.
"If you've hurt my son I'll blood eagle you and feed you to the eels." Before they could say anything else however two of the snake guardians slithered up behind them and pulled gags into their open mouths silencing them as the bold snake guardian said.
"Thank you, their yelling was giving me a headache." One of the females then asked.
"So, what do we do with them?"
"We'll bring them before the master and let him decide their fate." It was the Verta in her human form jumped down from a tree branch and said.
"You get them to the throne room and I'll fetch the master." They nodded and dragged Stoick and Valka away while Verta picked up Stoicks helmet and took off to find Hiccup and Valka.
Back with Hiccup and Blanca
Hiccups POV:
I lay there on the ground with my head in Blanca's lap but now I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong and no matter what I do I couldn't shake the feeling. When I told Blanca however she'd just caress my face and told me it was probably just my mind playing tricks on me so I should just relax and enjoy the peace while it lasted. I had to say she was right, I needed to enjoy the peace before something happens and I get pulled into another adventure since it I knew I would because that's just the way my life is these days. I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of footsteps running towards us and opened my eyes to see it was Verta and let out a sigh of annoyance as I sat up and asked.
"Is something wrong Verta?" She stopped in front of us and bowed.
"Forgive the intrusion but we caught two intruders in the forest." Now this caught my attention.
"Intruders?" She nodded.
"A male and a female with the male being overweight yet muscular with red hair, a large beard that was braided at the bottom and his hair tied into a braid at the back while the female is smaller in comparison with four braids going down her back." Giving her description I my heart pound in fear and felt it increase ten folds when she pulled out an all too familiar helmet. "The male was also wearing this helmet."
I quickly snatched the helmet from her hands before examining and sure enough this was my father's helmet and the blood rushed from my face knowing this was not going to be easy to explain to my parents. I'm guessing Blanca noticed my face going pale since she placed her hand on my shoulder gaining my attention. I turned to her as she looked at me in concern before she asked.
"Hiccup, is something wrong?" I nodded.
"The people they caught weren't intruders." I gulped. "They're my parents." Hearing this they both gasped as I turned to Verta. "Where are they now?"
"On their way to the throne room." I groaned as I shook my head while looking down.
"This is not the way I wanted my parents to find out about my islands new inhabitants." I then turned to Blanca. "Or about my wife." I saw Blanca look a little sad at this but I raised her chin so our eyes met as I smiled. "At least they'll finally be able to meet the woman I love." She smiled at me before Verta said.
"Perhaps introducing them to your wife till after they've calmed down a bit since they seemed pretty angry when they were taken away." I looked down in thought and hummed in thought.
"You may have a point there Verta and knowing my father it would not be wise to drop this bit of news on him when he's in a bad mood." They both nodded as Blanca asked.
"So what should we do?" I rubbed my chin in thought.
"Well we're going to need to take some time to calm them down and dinner's handled since I made sure to make their favorites and readied my mead from Valhalla." Verta then asked.
"Do you really think that'll calm them down?" I smiled at her.
"When my dad lays eyes upon fresh yak butter parfait and a cold goblet of mead, he forgets everything around him and focuses solely on getting to the meal to enjoy." They both looked at me with both raising an eyebrow but I just smiled. "How do you think he got the name 'Stoick the Vast'?" They both giggled before I frowned. "In the meantime, I think it best you two stay out of sight until dinner in an hour since it'll take some time to at least get them to begin to calm down." I gently caressed Blanca's face. "The last thing I want is for them to take out their anger on either of you." They both nodded as I turned to Zhang Yong. "Look after them boy." He growled and bowed his head as I mounted Toothless and took off to the throne room.
Ten minutes later
We'd just landed outside the entrance to the snakes cavern and let out a sigh knowing this conversation with my parents was not going to be something I was going to enjoy. I made my way through the tunnels and up the stairs of the palace with Toothless at my side while any snake guardian we crossed bowed. When I reached the doors leading to the throne room there were two guards each armed with a spear on either side with one having the torso of a human with his hair pulled back in a bun while the other had blue scales and the head of a snake. They both bowed to me before they pushed the doors open to reveal the throne room where multiple snake guardians stood with their weapons out and pointed to my parents who were on their knees, tied up and gagged. I sighed knowing I had a lot of explaining to do and walked into the room making all the guardians bow and say.
"MASTER!" It was then one with a baldhead slithered forward and bowed.
"Master, we captured these two intruders in the forest." I nodded.
"Was anyone hurt?"
"No master."
"Good but there's something you should know." He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Master?"
"They're not intruders, they're my parents."
"Your parents?" I nodded. "Forgive me master but we thought they weren't due to arrive till nightfall and by ship."
"So did I but don't worry, I won't punish you for doing this since you thought they were intruders but for now I think it best you leave since I don't think you'll want to be around when their gags come off."
He nodded and gave one last bow before slithering out of the room while I made my way towards my parents who hadn't seen me yet. I walked up in front of them and they looked up at me before their eyes widened but before they could do anything else I held up my hand and said.
"Listen, I know I have some explaining to do but first I'm going to need you to calm down a bit so I can explain who these creatures are and why they're here." My mom nodded but my dad just angrily looked down while glaring at the floor as I slowly pulled the latches on the bolas free before they pulled the gags from their mouths before my dad turned to me and said.
"Start explaining!" I sighed before I walked over to my throne and sat down before I began the tale of how the snakes came to be and how they fell under my command leaving out the bits with Blanca and just explaining how I killed their former master and my meeting with the gods.
1 hour later
It's been an hour since I found began telling the story to my parents about the snake guardians and how they fell under my control and since then not much has happened. When I finished telling them the story I could tell they were shocked that I now had a small army of snake guardians under my command who were now patrolling my island. I had the ones who ambushed them come forward and apologies for the confusion to which my parents forgave them though it took an ear yank from my mother to get my father to accept the apology. We all had a laugh at seeing who wore the pants in that relationship before I offered them a tour of my islands new section, which they were happy to accept. While we walked through the forest my parents explained to me that they decided to come early and see how I was doing which, is why they were here before dinner. They also asked me a few questions about my trip like what else happened but I just told them I'd show them my adventure with everyone else tomorrow.
Now we were all walking into the dining room where the table had a total of five seats set up with yak butter parfait along with multiple other dishes waiting for us. My dad took a deep breath through his nose and let out a sigh of pleasure as he looked at the food on the table. He licked his lips as he said.
"This all looks delicious son." I smiled at him.
"Only the best for my dear hard working parents dad." I gestured to the table. "We've got yak butter parfait, sugared dates, fruit salad made from fresh fruit and more including my mead from Valhalla." My dad smiled with his eyes on the food but my mom raised an eyebrow before she let out a sigh bringing my dads attention to her before he asked.
"Val, is something wrong?" She looked at him.
"He invites us to his island for dinner instead of coming to Berk to show everyone what happened and provides us with our favorite meals and compliments." She let out an annoyed groan before turning to me. "Alright Hiccup, you've given us the honey so just give us the hatchet?" I pretended to look offended and asked.
"Why do you assume I'm giving you the honey and the hatchet?" I gestured to myself. "Can a man not just do something nice for his dear parents who work so-" My mom held up his hand.
"Hiccup!" I sighed.
"How'd you know?"
"Hiccup, I've pulled the same stunt on your father when I needed to tell him something he didn't want to hear." My dad turned to her.
"You have?" She nodded.
"Yes, but we'll discuss this later." She then turned back to me with her arms crossed. "Now what are you trying to butter us up for?" I sighed.
"Well you both know about Mizore and Hadasa?" They nodded as my dad said.
"You told us that those were two women you believed you might be able to share your life with but they were taken from you." I nodded before he sighed. "Don't tell me it happened again." Before I could reply he placed his hand on my shoulder. "I never want you to feel the loss of losing someone like that again." I smiled.
"Thanks dad and to answer your question it did happen again but this time it ended differently." He raised an eyebrow.
"This time I didn't let my chance at love slip through my fingers." They each raised an eyebrow.
"I fell in love again but this time I let the girl I fell for know how I felt and wasn't going to let her slip through my hands." My parents frowned.
"You better have not forced her to do anything like come back with you and be your wife." Before I could reply a voice from behind us said.
"Actually, he didn't force me to do anything." We all turned to see Blanca standing there with Verta and Zhang Yong. "I fell for him myself and wanted to be with him and still do." She walked up next to me. "The story of how we fell in love is one best told over dinner but first, please allow me to introduce myself." She bowed to them. "My name is Blanca and I am the wife of your son." I took her hand and for a few seconds there was silence as my parents absorbed what she said before my dad asked.
"I'm sorry lass but did you just say you're my sons wife?" She nodded. "As in you two are married?" She nodded and for a few more seconds there was silence before my dad turned to me. "You two are married?" I nodded.
"Yes dad, I believe we've established I married a girl I fell in love with despite the fact that she thought we couldn't be together because I'm human and she's not." They both stared at me before turning to Blanca looking her up and down before my dad said.
"She looks human." Blanca looked down in fear.
"This is merely my human form." She slowly turned to her half human half snake form but I never let go of her hand as my parents stepped back. "I'm really one of the snakes that ambushed you." My dad shook off his shock and turned to me.
"You married a snake?" I didn't like his tone.
"Yeah, I did because I fell in love with her and I wouldn't change a single thing about her." He glared at me.
"Watch your tone son and why couldn't you've fallen in love with a human girl." I glared at him as I stepped towards him.
"The only human girls I attract were only after my money, fame or an easy life." I gestured to Blanca. "Blanca saw past all that stuff and simply saw me and on our travels together I saw past what she is and fell in love with the real her." I stepped up to him. "I don't care what she is but who she is."
"Oh is that so?" I glared at him.
"Yeah because unlike you I look past these things and see who people really are."
"You think I don't do that?"
"Your past actions speak for themselves considering how you treated me when I was a child when you only saw a runt and not your son and how when you saw how the others treated me you saw Vikings in the making and not bullies."
"Don't you bring up the past now."
"I'll stop bringing up the past when you actually decide to learn from it."
"I learn from it."
"Yeah, you learn what you choose to learn but leave the other lessons until it's too late like how you refused to learn the lesson about pacing yourself when it comes to food." He glared.
"You keep my weight out of this and what about you keeping things hidden from us?" He gestured to Blanca. "Were you too ashamed to admit that you're in love with a demon to invite your own parents to your wedding." Hearing this I turned my arm into the dragons claw form.
"Don't you ever call my wife a demon or so help me I'll blood eagle you myself." Before he could reply two voiced simultaneously yelled.
"QUIET!" I looked around to see it was both Blanca and my mom who had yelled before Blanca walked up and gently caressed my face.
"Hiccup, I love that you're willing to go to such lengths to protect me but I don't like to see you so angry." I gently took her hand on my face and smiled at how she was able to calm me down so easily.
"I'm sorry love but I don't like how my father was talking to me or about you." She gently rubbed her thumb across my cheek as I smiled before turning to see my mom smiling at me as she held my dads left ear in her hand.
"Although I'm hurt that we weren't at your wedding I can see she makes you happy and that's more than enough for me." She then turned to Blanca. "I'm Valka, Hiccups mother and I am looking forward to getting to know you in the future." I smiled at how kind my mom was being and saw Blanca smile before my mom turned to my father with a glare and yanked his ear. "Is there something you'd like to say to our son and new daughter-in-law Stoick?" He sighed as my mom let his ear go allowing him to stand back up straight before he said.
"I'm sorry, I was just shocked that my son got married while he was away and didn't even bother to invite his own parents." Blanca just smiled.
"Don't worry, I understand and Hiccup already warned me about your fierce Viking temper." He chuckled.
"Just promise me you'll try to do something that me and my wife couldn't do." She raised an eyebrow. "Try to keep him out of trouble." She giggled.
"I don't think that's possible." She rested her head on my shoulder. "My husband seems to attract it like panda's to bamboo." To this I replied.
"Hey it's not my fault I get pulled into so much danger." It was then Verta made her presence known by saying.
"Yeah, trouble just seems to find you." My parents looked at her as she bowed. "My name is Verta and I'm Blanca's sister and if it makes you feel any better, I didn't get to attend the wedding either." They nodded as my dad said.
"Well it's nice to meet you lass and I don't mean to sound rude but can we get to the dinner now." We all looked at him as if we were all asking him if he was serious. "Don't give me that look, that yak butter parfait has been calling me since we walked in." We all chuckled before I said.
"Leave it to my dad to think with his stomach at all times." Everyone chuckled as my dad asked.
"Is that a crack about my weight?" I just rolled my eyes.
"Come on before it gets cold." We all then made our way to the dinner table.
Four hours later
Dinner was an enjoyable affair with my parents asking Blanca and me all sorts of questions about our relationship, how we met, what made us fall in love with each other and other such things. After dinner we all retired to the library for some quiet conversation where I was caught up on everything that's happened on Berk. Snotlout the twins had been trying to convince my mom to show them how to train dragons and she'd actually began considering training new riders since it would be helpful to the Berk guard along with helping others on Berk. I agreed with her on this but advised her to keep a close eye on Snotlout and the twins when they get their own dragons since chances are they'd be causing major damage with how they were. She agreed on this since she'd seen how they acted and the amount of property damage the twins had done in the past for fun and in Snotlouts case trying to impress everyone. I shook my head when I heard about Snotlouts goal knowing he might not have been as bad as before but he was still arrogant as any other Jorgenson. After talking with each other, sharing a few laughs, discussing the past, plans for the future and explaining to them why they weren't brought to our wedding. When they left I promised them I'd drop by Berk tomorrow sometime to show them all my adventures in China to everyone and of course introduce them all to Blanca.
Presently I was lying in bed with Blanca laying on top of me wearing the outer lair of her kimono with her head on my chest as she gently breathed while I held her. I knew tomorrow I was going to have a long day since I wasn't blind to how some of the girls looked at me while Ruffnut made her intentions clear as day. This of course meant that Blanca might not be too well liked among some of the female populace but hopefully some of them would be able to look past this and make friends with her. The last thing I wanted was for my wife to feel hated whenever she visits my hometown whether the reason is to visit her in laws, pass on messages or just do a little shopping. All I know is tomorrow was going to be a very difficult day for me so for now I just needed to enjoy the peace I had now with my wife in my arms.
Afternoon the next day
I was making my way up the steps of the Great Hall with Toothless and Verta on my left and Blanca holding my hand with Zhang Yong walking next to her. When we reached the doors I let out a breath as I squeezed Blanca's hand and pushed it open to see the Great Hall full of people eating lunch with their friends and family. I sighed and made my way into the hall and as expected we gained a lot of attention like when I always walked into the Great Hall after returning from an adventure. As usual I took my position at my parents table with Blanca and Verta at my sides and as soon as I sat down people rushed over asking questions with the main one being who Blanca and Verta were. None of them could get too close though since Zhang Yong stood in front of the table pacing with his eyes never leaving the people and when someone got too close he'd leap in front of them and growl making them back up. The thing that silenced them all however was Verta standing up roaring out.
"QUIET!" Everyone shut up as I smiled and turned to her.
"Thank you Verta." I then turned to the villagers. "Now that that's out of the way I'll gladly show you all what happened with me on my latest adventure so save all your questions till the end but before I do I need to make one thing perfectly clear." I activated my dragons' claw form while igniting it and glaring at them. "If any of you raise a weapon, fist, threat or even just look at either of these two women the wrong way THEN THE BLOOD EAGLE WILL LOOK LIKE A SLAP ON THE WRIST COMPARED TO WHAT I'LL DO TO YOU!" Everyone stepped back in fear but I was brought out of my rage by the feeling of Blanca placing her hand on my real shoulder making me turn to her with a gentle smile that always calmed me down making me smile as I turned back to the people. "Alright, let's get on with the show." With that said I showed them what happened in China from when I first arrived while I took out my dragon pipe and began puffing it to relax my nerves as I focused on my illusion.
Three hours
I'd just finished showing everyone my tale of what happened and I could tell they were all shocked when they found out Blanca and Verta weren't human but a glare from me shut them up. Through it all I just smoked my pipe and enjoyed going down memory lane but I did leave a few parts out like what happened in the Taoist chamber and when me and Blanca got married since I was not going to allow anyone to see that. I did however allow them to know that Blanca was my wife and we were bonded in a ceremony that made it official and bonded us together as husband and wife. When this was shown I could see multiple glares directed at Blanca when this was shown but Blanca ignored them in favor of watching my illusion. When it finally ended everyone turned to ask questions but before they could I held up my hand and said.
"Yes I know I married a snake but to be honest with you all I couldn't care less what she is but who she is and that's a wonderful and kind hearted woman and as I said before if any of you cause her trouble I'll feed you to my wolves after I set you on fire and watch you burn." I then took a few sips from my pipe before blowing out the smoke. "Now if you have any questions please your hand and wait?" There were multiple arms raised but I pointed to the most surprising one, which was Gobber. "What's your question Gobber?"
"Lad I admit I'm happy ya finally found a nice lass to settle down with but I have to ask why didn't you invite me te your weddin or show us the ceremony?" I smiled.
"Gobber I would've been honored to have you there but the ceremony wasn't like your typical wedding Gobber, the only ones who were to be present were me and Blanca and as for why I didn't show the wedding." I wrapped an arm around Blanca. "and I wasn't going to give everyone a look at my bride or me without clothes." Everyone stared. "The ceremony was for us to embrace each other as we sunk into a mystic pool where we were bonded as husband and wife." He nodded before he smiled.
"Well either way I'm happy for you lad." I nodded as I turned to Blanca.
"Almost forgot introductions." I gestured to Gobber. "Blanca this is my old blacksmithing mentor Gobber." She bowed to him and said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Gobber, Hiccups told me so much about you." She then stood back up. "I am the white snake and Hiccups wife Blanca." He smiled at her.
"Nice to meet you lass and do me a favor." He then gestured to me. "Try and keep the lad out of trouble." She giggled as I frowned and gestured to Verta.
"And this is my sister-in-law Verta." She bowed.
"It's nice to meet you." She stood back up as I said.
"Don't let the pretty face fool you, she's one of the most fierce warriors I've ever met." She smiled as Zhang Yong walked forward growling. "And this vicious cat is my new zheng Zhang Yong who's taken up the role of Blanca's bodyguard." They all nodded as Blanca gently pet him. "Now any other questions?" Tuffnut quickly raised his hand. "What is it Tuffnut?"
"Can you show us an illusion of your wedding?" I saw the perverted smile and glint in his eye and knew he just wanted to see Blanca naked so I took a few sips from my pipe till the eyes of the dragon glowed orange. "Are you going to answer me or are you just going to stand there smoking your weird pipe." I lowered the pipe from my lips and breathed out a stream of flames at him making him let out a yelp and drop to the ground to the flames until I stopped before he looked up at me. "Is that a no and how did you do that?" I looked down at him.
"It's a 'if you ask me that again I'll fry you' and the pipe gives me the ability to breath flames for a few seconds." I then looked back at the crowd. "Any other questions?" Multiple hands went up. "Questions that do not involve seeing me or my wife without our clothes." Over half the hands went down with a few of the men getting slapped by their wives as I pointed to Snotlout. "What is it Snotlout?"
"I was just wondering what you're planning to do with all that gold you got from that kid emperor?" I shrugged.
"I'm not sure, probably just going to save it for a rainy day." He then rubbed his hands together.
"You know if you're not going to use it then you could always give it to me." I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.
"Nice try!" I then turned to the people. "Any other questions?" Before anyone else could ask the doors opened and Ragnar came running in and up to my parents as he said.
"Stoick, the replies from the other tribes have just come in." He held out some rolled up scrolls to my parents' eyes widened making me raise an eyebrow so I asked.
"Is something wrong?" My dad scratched the back of his head while looking everywhere but at me.
"Well you see son three weeks after you left we got to talking about the future and decided to send word out to the other tribes letting them know you were looking for a wife and-" I held up my hand.
"You sent out the letters when you told me you'd wait till I got back."
"We didn't think you'd get married while you were away." I sighed as I looked down and shook my head in annoyance.
"Well you're going to have to send word to them that the position of wife has been taken." While I said this my mom read the scrolls and lowered them before she said.
"I'm afraid that's not possible Hiccup." I turned to her.
"Why not?"
"I just read their replies, they'll all be here in a week so there's no time to call them off." Gobber then asked.
"Well that's a problem since I highly doubt Nigren's going to be happy." My eyes widened as I turned to Gobber.
"Wait a minute." He turned to me. "Did you just say Nigren, as in the chief of the Grown Hills tribe?" He nodded. "The father of that spoiled brat Freya and arrogant jerk Ulrik." He nodded. (AN: Chapter 74 guys.)
"You remember them?"
"I could never forget them since they're some of the worst people I've eve met."
"I couldn't agree with you more lad." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"So what are we meant to do since I highly doubt any of our visitors will be happy to see they came here for nothing and the chieftain and his wife resting due to severe head injuries?" They all looked at me confused as my dad said.
"Hiccup, neither me or your mother are injured." I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Clearly you do if you invited them here and actually believed I'd ever be interested in such a brat." I then smiled. "I'm guessing your head problems can easily be fixed though." I released my African club and gestured for them to come forward. "Come here a moment." They backed away from me as Gobber stepped in front of me.
"Now lad calm down a moment and think this through." Before I could reply Blanca flew in front of me.
"Hiccup, I know your angry but remember they're your parents and they were only thinking about what was best for you." I growled as I looked down, tightening the grip on my club before I sighed and looked at her.
"I understand Blanca but wait until you meet these people, you'll want to turn into your full snake form and strangle the life out of them." Before she could reply Gobber said.
"He isn't wrong, I'm pretty sure all of Berk will thank you if you do." There were multiple murmurs of agreement but Blanca ignored it and said.
"We'll see later since for now I think it best we go home so you can calm down a bit." She wrapped her arms around my real arm.
"I think you're right Blanca." I pulled my African club back into my arm and turned to my parents. "We'll talk later." With that said I allowed Blanca to lead me towards the exit with Toothless and Zhang Yong following as I heard Verta say.
"You two are lucky my sister stopped him since if it were up to me," She shrugged. "I would've just allowed him to use that club on you two." She then followed us out as I began to think of ways to avoid a war breaking out.
AN: Hey all I hope you've all enjoyed the chapter and are keeping safe during these dangerous times. Good luck to a reviewer who simply goes by hello whose sister has been exposed to covid-19, which I can say from experience, is not pleasant. Anyway I'll try to get the new chapter on time but I make no promises since my ideas for the chapter aren't plentiful so it might be a little late. Anyway I hope you'll all remember to review kindly and stay safe till next time.
