Chapter 194
Hiccups POV:
It's been six weeks since we got back from China and in that time a lot has happened besides my hearing being damaged by the Hofferson's when they saw their daughter. When they found out what happened to her they were close to throttling me for allowing such a thing to happen to their daughter, but they calmed down after they found out how I was able to save her. I think it helped when they found out the lengths, I went through to ensure her safety they calmed down and were even grateful after they found out what she could do now and what she learned. Following that Astrid's mother tried to damage my hearing even more with her shriek of joy when she found out Astrid accepted my proposal and then she brought blushes to our faces when she said that she expected grandkids soon.
Then there's my parent's reaction to my engagement to Astrid, they took it well with my mother squealing in joy and my father smiling as he slapped me on the back congratulating me. Then there's Gobber and when he found out he chuckled and slapped me on the back as he said that it was about time I proposed to Astrid while claiming he was worried; I was never going to propose to her. I just rolled my eyes at him and left him to his work while figuring it best I return to my island to check out how everyone's been, set up the new mine section so I could check out this new material and what it could do while also letting loose the new Savannah wing.
I started out by visiting Toothless who was overjoyed to see me again, pinning me to the ground and covering me in slobber while I laughed and told him how I'd also missed him. I then gave the egg an inspection and smiled seeing it was still healthy and warm to the touch since this meant that it was still healthy, so I didn't have to worry. After that I went about the rest of my day letting my islands inhabitants know I was back resulting in me being covered in dragon slobber and shed fur of my animals. While I was doing this in my savannah, I took the time to find a suitable tree to plant the new Savannah wing but before I did that, I informed Davu about what the new orb contained. When he heard this, he began bouncing around in joy while screeching as if telling me to hurry up and plant the orb in a tree so he could get a new mate. I immediately found a tree and planted the orb inside with Davu running around the tree in excitement as Mfalme sat at my side watching Davu in confusion. I just rubbed his head telling my lion, who was now up to my thigh in height with his mane beginning to come in, that he'd understand when he was older.
After that I got to work setting up the new piece for the mine which didn't take long nor did getting a sample of the diamond steel for testing in the forge at a later time. The remainder of my day was spent enjoying the peace and quiet while settling back into my home life and doing a check up on all my animals and automatons. This led to me checking up on my sand phantom dragons which was not an easy thing considering they were still living in the underground burrow with their eggs that were shaking now showing they were close to hatching. (AN: Chapter 185)
Following that day things had been pretty relaxing with me working on my automatons, tending to the island, experimenting with the diamond steel and of course making plans for the wedding. To begin with I forged a single sword out of the diamond steel and tested it against one of my gronkle iron swords and was surprised when it actually left a sizable dent in the gronkle iron sword. This proved that it was incredibly strong but sadly it was heavier than my gronkle iron weapons which lead to me mixing diamond steel with gronkle iron to see what I would get. The result was a material that was stronger than any other material I'd ever seen to the point that only my star sword could break them but also light as gronkle iron. When I showed it to Gobber he immediately put in an order for more of the same material which sadly some people heard and as Berk was a small village word spread fast and orders were pouring in within an hour.
Then there's my new Savannah wing who formed from the tree I'd placed her orb in and I had to say the female Savannah wing was a whole lot different to the male. For starters the female is about one foot shorter than the male Savannah wing and the color on the scales is in the shape of a stripe pattern with the colors of Savannah grass and grace stone most likely to help it blend within its surroundings. Along with this she has a beak instead of a muzzle while on the top of its head is one giant frill that leads all the way down the neck with two smaller files on each side's acting like ears or similar to that of a cobra. She also has a tail fin on top of her tails end and two large giant wings that has prehensile toes to on each one making it possible for her to hook them onto things. As for her abilities, she has a keener eyesight than the male like that of a hawk's allowing her to see things extremely far away from her while also able to breathe poison and acid. All in all, she was a forced to be reckoned with but despite all this she was pretty calm and peaceful and brought much joy to Davu who spent the first week trying to impress her which resulted in her being given the name Boitumelo, meaning joy.
Now I was sitting alone in my library going over plans for the wedding that we'd discussed earlier and how we decided it'd be a traditional Viking wedding on Frigga's island. Per wedding custom there'd be a feast of four hundred boars, the chopping down of the ceremonial birch, the exchanging of rings, Astrid giving me her ancestral fathers sword and of course the exchanging of rings. I nodded as we went over the plans for the wedding and who to invite with me deciding to invite some of my comrades from across the globe such as Caesar from Rome, Cleopatra of Egypt, Rabdule and his children from Arabia, Iron Bear, Stoneface and multiple other allies of mine. Looking at the possible guest list I had to say this was going to be one large wedding with a lot of important people coming meaning security would have to be tight.
It was because of this I didn't intend to invite some of our ally tribes since if word got out into the archipelago then chances are there'd be big trouble. A lot of bandits would do whatever they could to get in so they could try and kidnap the royals for money, treasures and other such things since the royals are worth a lot. Astrid would also be a target as she could be used against me since not only do, I have a lot of enemies who'd want to get to me through her or simply hold her hostage to get my dragon training secrets and treasures. Another issue would be how some of the girls who were bridal candidates or some of the greedier chiefs would no doubt try something to ruin my wedding and possibly replace Astrid as the bride.
I sighed and threw the guest list on to the table while rubbing my head and groaning in annoyance while mentally asking myself how a wedding could be more difficult than any battle I've ever gone through. It was then I felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around me before the familiar voice of the snake guardian I called my first wife said.
"I was wondering why you hadn't come to bed yet." I was surprised when she said this.
"Is it already so late?"
"It is but I understand how when you focus on things you lose your sense of time." I could feel her smile as she gently brushed a hand through my hair. "This is one of the first things I learnt when we married." I smiled at the memories. "Now what has you so bothered."
"It's just that this wedding is a big thing and we're inviting so many important people, I'm just a little nervous that some old enemies or some crooks might show up to cause trouble at the wedding by trying to kill me, kidnap Astrid or the royal guests for one reason or another."
"Hiccup, I can understand your worry, but I believe you might be overthinking things." I sighed.
"Maybe you're right but a lot of things in my life end up being turned upside down into crazy situations." She just tightened her grip on my chest.
"You need to relax Hiccup, whatever happens you won't have to deal with it alone." I smiled and stood up.
"Let's go to bed." Blanca smiled before I lead her out of the library to the bedroom where we could get some sleep as the coming weeks would not be in the least bit easy.
6 weeks later
The suns light shone through my curtains making me groan and try to block it before I realized what day it was, and I immediately opened my eyes as a smile formed on my face. Who could blame me though as today was the day Astrid Hofferson would become my wife and this would without a doubt get loads of guys to back off and leave her alone while also getting some of my fan girls to leave me alone. Still though these benefits mattered as much to me as yak dung since the main benefit I was getting from this is my childhood crush and an all-round amazing woman as my wife. I looked down at Blanca who was still slumbering peacefully on my chest and smiled knowing that it was really thanks to her that this was possible since she was allowing me to have another wife and what's more she was the one who encouraged me to allow Astrid to join her as a wife.
As I lay there in bed though I couldn't help but think about the last few weeks which had been busy with all the preparations for the wedding and all the invitations I had to hand deliver to so many people starting with Dagur, Heather and Mala with me asking Dagur to be my best man. Along with them I invited Atali of the wing maidens and my relatives in the archipelago who were all happy to come to see my wedding and after that I went to invite my allies out of the archipelago. This alone took an entire two days since I have so many of them all of which wanted to come to my wedding but I made sure they understood they might have to use their own accommodations like tents as there was no way there was enough room to house all of them. Fortunately, they all understood and made the preparations for when they would come to the wedding with some asking how a traditional Viking wedding goes so they know what's happening.
Not all of them had to sleep in tents though as my house did have multiple guest rooms that I used to house some of the royal guest like Caesar, Cleopatra, Queen Uberta and Chin Wu. There were other places on my island that housed some of my other guests like Gukumatz and Eadrich who were sleeping in my Mayan temple. Some of my other guests preferred to sleep around the island in the environments that are familiar to them since they felt it was more comfortable for them. They did bring their own guards though since they did trust me but it was just a safety precaution that they were taking since with the number of enemies around they couldn't be too careful and that was something I could both understand and respect. It was also because of this that I increased the security around both my island and Berk since you never know who might come to cause some trouble and that's the last thing, I wanted on my wedding day. I took a breath and gently shook Blanca awake so I could get ready for my wedding which we would be leaving for in only two hours and I wanted things to be perfect.
3 hours later
It's been three hours since I woke up and that time has been spent preparing myself for the moment Astrid would give me her families ancestral sword to show she was now under my care. Now I was on the island of Frigga at the end of a valley in front of a cliff, standing before the ceremonial birch with Gothi in front of it while I was wearing my grootslang coat in a shirt form with it taking on a snow-white color with gold lining while wearing my leather chest plate, third arm sash with my wolf armor pendant, lion arm guards and spidepack underneath while my lion gauntlet bands were on top of the sleeves. On my back was a brown bear fur cape with two golden disk clips with a nightfury on them connected by a small chain and holding the cape onto my body as per tradition. Finally, on my head was my jaguar mask in its bandana form under a crown made of mistletoe branches as per Viking customs allowing me to look good for my wedding while remaining armed as a precaution.
Standing at my sides behind were Toothless and Dagur while the rest of the guests were standing in front of me forming a large crowd that had a large gap in its middle forming a path which is what I was looking down as that is where Astrid would be walking down. Among the guests were all of my animals and main dragons with my dragons watching from above while my animals sat on the ledges coming out of the walls. Against the walls were my snake guardians keeping a close eye on the crowd for anything that looked to be trouble calming me down a bit but I also had some of my Scouters on the wall watching things so I could keep an eye out myself for trouble.
As I stood there waiting for Astrid, I thought back on the wedding events, so far things have been going well with the events such as the rehearsal dinner a week ago, choosing the right birch tree, setting up the reception area and of course the preparing of the ceremonial weapons. The most difficult part was how I had to deal with Snotlout flirting with some of the female guests needing to drag him off most of the time before things got ugly. The only one worse than him was his father who acted high and mighty around some of the royals and I had to spend over an hour performing damage control to prevent wars from breaking out or Spitelout getting killed by their personal guards.
It was then I was brought out of my thoughts when all talking stopped leaving silence to rain drawing my attention down the path where I saw little Ylva walking down the isle with a basket full of white rose petals that she was gently throwing onto the ground. Once she reached the end of the path she walked to the side and into the side holding the brides' guest right before Astrid made her appearance and it took all my wills strength to keep my jaw from dropping. Who could blame me though as Astrid who was already beautiful was now drop dead gorgeous in her bridal attire and from the looks of the people in the crowd, I wasn't the only who thought that. She was wearing a white long-sleeved dress that reached past her feet in length with a gold belt wrapped around her waist and he jaguar bracelets around her wrists. Then there's her hair that had a light pink flower crown wrapped around the top of it and her hair that was normally in a tight braid was now flowing freely going down her back enhancing her beauty and on her back was a white pelt being held with golden clips that had a deadly nadder head on them.
In her hands was an old sword but not just any old sword, this was he family's ancestral sword that she'd present to me to show that I was now under responsible for her safety and providing for her. Trailing behind her was Blanca and Heather with Blanca holding the Haddock family ceremonial axe for cutting into the birch tree while Heather held a silk cushion that held the wedding rings. I smiled as she reached me smiling at me as I smiled back seeing the love in her eyes making me more eager to have her as my wife so we could begin our lives together. Gothi tapped her staff to the ground signaling it was time to begin before my father walked forward and stood next to Gothi and held out his arms as he yelled out.
"AS CHIEF OF BERK, I BOTH THANK AND WELCOME YOU ALL TO THIS CEREMONY IN WHICH MY SON HICCUP HADDOCK AND HIS BETROTHED ASTRID HOFFERSON SHALL BE BONDED TOGETHER AS HUSBAND IN WIFE IN A MARRIAGE THAT CAN ONLY BE BROKEN WITHIN THE HALLS OF VALLHALA!" The Vikings in the crowd cheered with the guests joining in before things calmed down and my dad continued. "SHOULD ANYONE HAVE A REASON WHY THESE TWO SHOULD NOT BE WED, COME FORTH NOW AND SPEAK YOUR REASON BEFORE THEM NOW!" I didn't expect anyone to object but was surprised when a voice said.
"I HAVE JUST ONE OBJECTION!" All eyes including mine turned to the one who said it only to see a hooded figure at the end of the path that Astrid walked down. "THE GROOMS NOT GOING TO LIVE TILL THE END OF THE DAY!" He tore off his cloak to reveal a face I never thought I'd see again.
"KYKNOS?"
"YES, IT IS I THE SON OF ARES WHOSE LIFE YOU DESTROYED!" I raised an eyebrow.
"WHAT DID I DO?"
"AFTER OUR LAST BATTLE MY FATHER HAD ME IMPRISONED IN TARTARUS FOR A MONTH AND WHEN I WAS RELEASED, HE HAD ME ESCORTED BY GUARDS TO ENSURE I DID NOT ACT OUT OF LINE!" I muttered a thanks to Ares for this. "IF THIS ALONG WITH STEALING MY FORTUNE AND BREAKING OFF MY HORNS WAS NOT ENOUGH WITH MY LAST DEFEAT AT YOUR HANDS, I LOST ANY RESPECT MY FATHER AND THE OTHER GODS HAD FOR ME!" He clenched his fists. "YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME AND I FEEL IT ONLY RIGHT I RETURN THE FAVOR WITH ALL YOUR ALLIES HERE FOR YOUR WEDDING!" Snotlout then decided to make his presence known by walking out of the crowd while yelling.
"YOU AND WHAT ARMY?" He smirked while I felt like punching Snotlout since that's the last thing you should ever ask a villain and what happened next was enough proof of that.
"THIS ONE!"
He let out a roar before the ground began to rumble as beasts began making their way down the valley with me being able to recognize some of them from past fights. As they got closer, I saw there were cyclops, minotaur's, harpies and six armed giants all looking ready to kill but there was something else among the ranks that confused me. They looked like Greek and roman soldiers made of metal that was taking the shape of Greek and roman soldier armor while their bodies were made of volcanic rock with veins of glowing lava running through the parts of their bodies I could see. Their faces however took the shape of a skull glowing red with a helmet of a Roman and Greek soldiers and they all looked powerful and they made up the majority of Kyknos's forces. Kyknos then said.
"THIS BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU?"
Before he could give the order to charge though I quickly whistled while I signaled Adal right before he went into battle mode and let out an icy blast from where he was forming an ice wall between us and the enemy forces. My animals and dragons quickly rushed down to the ground while my snake guardians rushed forward as I watched the ice wall and could tell all it did was buy us a few seconds. Knowing this I looked at the crowd and yelled out.
"ALL OF THOSE WHO CANNOT FIGHT RUN TO THE BACK OF THE VALLEY AND ALL OF THOSE WHO CAN GET YOUR WEAPONS READY AND STAND STRONG!" I then pulled out my spiderpack placing it on the ground as it grew while pushing weapons out as I thanked Odin, I always kept a small armory in my spiderpack in case I was travelling and wanted to sell some of them. "IF YOU CAN FIGHT BUT DON'T HAVE A WEAPON THEN COME AND GET ONE FROM HERE BUT HURRY AS THAT ICE WALL WON'T LAST LONG!"
People immediately began following instructions while I turned my arm into its prosthetic form, turned my grootslang coat into its jacket form and got ready for a fight. I summoned my Anubis warriors, Spartan soldiers and jade warriors before ordering my jade warriors to the front with their crossbows ready to fire while my Anubis warriors stood behind them and the guests who could fight were behind them with my snake guardians at the front. Once all the people who couldn't fight were at the back, I sent my Spartans to the back with my wolves behind them ordering them to protect the guests. Adal and Maelstrom remained where they were, glaring at the ice wall with Amr appearing next to me ready for a fight and I smiled knowing they would be able to cause some damage to the enemy forces as I grabbed my spiderpack. It was then Astrid and Blanca rushed to my sides with Blanca in her snake form and Astrid with her leopard bracelets ready while her skirt was ripped off up to her knees. Before I could say anything, Astrid smirked and asked.
"Did you really think I'd let you have all the fun on our wedding day?" Blanca then continued.
"Or that I would allow you to do this without me at your side?" I smiled at them.
"Just be careful girls."
They nodded before I turned to the ice wall and released my spirit bow while taking out three shower arrows and loading them up ready to fire. It was then the wall began to crack before it crumbled to the grown as the ice shattered with Kyknos' forces charging through and filling up the valley. When I saw this, I yelled at my Jade warriors to fire while letting my own arrows fly and watched as the storm of arrows flew down on the enemy forces. I didn't stop though and loaded up another three storm arrows and let them fly adding to the storm of arrows coming down on the enemy forces. Despite the storm of arrows, we only managed to knock half the harpies out of the sky while killing a some of Kyknos' forces but barely leaving a dent in them even with those who were injured by the arrows. I then gave the order for my jade soldiers to advance and they switched their crossbows for spears before they began marching towards the coming forces. Once they were ten feet away from the monsters, I gave my Anubis warriors the order to charge and they began running their weapons ready and watched as they clashed.
I saw monsters slam into each other, impaling themselves on the spears of my jade soldiers when they charged at them before my Anubis warriors jumped over the soldiers bringing their axes down on the monsters. I watched as this happened before I saw the enemies breaking through my forces and making their way towards us making me growl knowing this was the time me and the guests to begin fighting ourselves. I pulled my spirit bow in and released my axe while unfolding my eagle shield before I let out my battle cry and charged at the coming forces with everyone joining me.
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup charged headfirst towards the leading enemies which were five cyclops all armed with wooden clubs before he threw his axe up spinning rapidly. The axe spun like a saw blade as Hiccup willed it to fly to the side making it fly in front of their heads cutting into their necks slicing their throats before Hiccup summoned his axe back to his hand. The cyclops dropped to their knees grabbing their necks to try and stop the blood while Hiccup rushed past them and jumped up before slamming his axe down. This caused a shockwave throwing three charging minotaur's back, but one dodged the shockwaves force and ran right at Hiccup who turned to the minotaur that held its own axe high. The minotaur swung its axe down at Hiccup who dodged to the side leaving the axe to imbed itself into the ground while Hiccup slammed his axe down on the back of the minotaurs neck decapitating it.
It was then the other guests charged into the battle and the real fight began with Hiccup being quick to join in and do his best to help the people, ensuring none of them were seriously injured. The humans weren't the only ones fighting hard as Adal, Maelstrom and Amr were doing their best to kill as many of the enemy forces as they could with Astrid, Blanca and the snake guardians doing their best to kill as many as they could. The fight wasn't only being fought on the ground though as above the dragons were doing their best to not only help those on the ground but also fighting the harpies up in the sky.
While the dragons fought above Blanca slithered quickly across the ground using her magic and the blade on the end of her tail to kill any enemies she fought. She'd just dodged the strike of a cyclops using its club before she glared up at it and quickly slithered up its arm towards its neck, wrapping her tail around it tightly and then slithering off making the neck twist too far breaking it. She quickly slithered off the body and swung her tale at a minotaur that was fighting King Arthur throwing it back into another minotaur impaling it on its allies axe before it could be brought down on one of Caesars guards who hadn't seen it. She then brought her tail back swiping her tails blade across the chest of one of the strange stone being before lava gushed out for a second only for the wound to heal almost immediately. Seeing her foe wasn't dead yet she tried killing it by using her tail to cut off its head, but the lava flowed out as the head fell to the ground followed by the body that crumbled into rubble. Blanca smiled knowing this was how to kill the beasts before she returned to the battle at hand.
While Blanca did this Astrid had just jumped onto the back of a minotaur and slammed the blades of her right leopard bracelet into its head killing it immediately before she back flipped avoiding the hand of a six-armed giant. She landed on its arm and quickly ran up it towards its head and slammed her bracelets blades into its neck before pulling it out and jumping off its body as it fell to the ground. Astrid's eyes then landed on a cyclops causing some Egyptian soldiers some problems and decided to give them a hand by cutting their opponent down to size. She rushed at it jumping over the men surprising them before she hit the ground she landed on her knees sliding between its legs holding her arms out cutting into the cyclops knees making it let out a roar and fall to them while using its hands to support itself. This of course made it vulnerable to the guards who were quick to take their opportunity and plunged their weapons into the now vulnerable beast while Astrid ran to take on another enemy. She ran into Hiccup who smiled at her while catching his axe back into his hand after using it to kill a six-armed giant by slamming it into its head. Hiccup looked at her and said.
"I'm sorry things turned out this way Astrid, fighting a major battle on our wedding day is the last thing I wanted." He switched out his axe for three of his scimitars throwing knives and threw them over her should stabbing them into the neck of a passing minotaur.
"It's alright Hiccup, at least this day will be one both us and the guests will have a hard time forgetting." She grabbed his real arm and pulled him to the side to avoid an axe that was thrown by a minotaur before the axe hit a six-armed giant in the leg making it roar and drop to its knees. "So, who is this Kyknos guy again?" They ducked under a harpy that tried to grab them as Hiccup had his spiderpack extend a leg and fire a crystal at its retreating form nailing it in the back of its head.
"Demigod son of the Greek god of war Ares." Hiccup launched another crystal into the eye of a nearby cyclops making it roar in pain as its only eye was punctured. "As he said, we've clashed swords a few times with me always walking away in victory while he got in trouble with his father and some of the other gods from what he told me." Hiccup pushed Astrid back to avoid one of the charging stone troops before he channeled an aqua green crystal and slashed at the stone enemy with his prosthetic severing its upper torso from the rest of its body making the lava harden before the body shattered on the ground.
"And now he's back for revenge." Hiccup shrugged. "I expected this, but I wasn't expecting him to bring an army or attack on our wedding day." Hiccup quickly extended the spiderpack leg out with the pointed end facing the right stabbing a passing minotaur in the chest going right through its body and its heart killing it.
"If we make it out of this alive, we need to go over your enemies who I need to watch out for in the future." Hiccup released his golden arrow and let it fly through the head of a nearby cyclops killing it.
"You mean when we make it out of this Astrid." She smiled as she pulled Hiccup to the side to avoid a falling harpy Stormfly just shot with her spines, but Astrid pulled one out as it passed.
"So how are we going to end this?" She threw the spine at the leg of a passing minotaur hitting it in the leg making it stumble and fall as easy prey to the Anubis warrior it stopped in front of.
"You want to kill a snake, you cut off its head." He then looked around willing his golden arrow having it go through the chest of a six armed giant as he did so. "In other words, we take Kyknos down and we should be able to deal with the rest easily." She nodded as they ducked avoiding another dead harpy falling from the sky.
"If that's the case then be careful since I saw him summon some of those lava rock guys from the ground." Hiccup snapped his fingers while releasing his prosthetics spinning blade and launching it into the forehead of a nearby six-armed giant with the blade burrowing right into its brain killing it.
"That explains why no matter how many of those things we kill they never stop coming at us." Hiccup looked around until his eyes landed on Kyknos who was kneeling down with his sword in the ground glowing with the appearance of magma flowing into it before five more of the rock soldiers came out of the ground and rushed into battle. "I'll have to have him separated from his forces before I can do anything." Hiccup looked towards Adal who was ripping into a minotaur as if it were a chew toy and let out a whistle gaining his attention and signaling him to come and he did so while trampling a few enemies along the way. "Adal, do you see that man crouched on the ground." I pointed at Kyknos and Adal turned to face him. "Cut him off from the others with your ice." Adal growled and nodded before taking off while Hiccup looked up and let out another whistle summoning Toothless before he looked back to Astrid but before he could say anything she grabbed him and pulled him in for one hard kiss and when she pulled away she said.
"Kick his butt quickly so we can get back to our wedding." Hiccup smiled.
"As you wish milady." With that said Hiccup turned back to see Adal letting out another icy blast from above forming a large ring around Kyknos before jumping back into the battle as Hiccup smiled. "Time to end this."
He activated his rhino helmet before running towards the ice ring with the rhino projection forming around him allowing him to smash into any enemy that got in his path or stab with his horn any enemy he passed. When he reached the wall, he put his helmet back into the ear ring and used his combined ninja and kung fu skills mixed with the speed of his ox flame boots to run up the wall and over it before jumping down into the ring. He landed on his feet crouching down when he hit the ground before looking at Kyknos who had brought out his own sword and had it pointed to the ground as he looked at Hiccup. Hiccup examined the sword his opponent wielded and saw the blade was black as night with glowing red cracks decorating it while the handle was made of the same material with a glowing red jewel in the pommel. Hiccup did not like the look of this weapon as Kyknos smiled and asked.
"Admiring my weapon Haddock?" Hiccup looked up at him. "I wanted to forge a weapon that could match your sword in power." He then pointed his sword at him. "I forged this sword with a star for material using the flames of hell themselves while imbedding the flames and another form of magic into the blade allowing me an endless supply of my lava legionaries." He then got into battle stance. "Now let's see who has the better sword."
As soon as the words left his mouth Kyknos charged at Hiccup full speed before swinging his sword right at Hiccups head, but Hiccup ducked below the strike and tuck and rolled behind Kyknos. Hiccup slashed at Kyknos back but Kyknos turned while swinging his own sword to meet Hiccups with the blade slamming into each other making the sound of metal hitting metal echoed through the ice ring. Kyknos quickly shoved Hiccup back and tried to strike Hiccup with another hard swing from the right but Hiccup jumped back avoiding the strike. Hiccup was quick to return this with a quick slash towards his arm that was holding the sword intending to sever it from his body but Kyknos pulled his arm back resulting in him only getting a shallow cut.
Despite the cut being shallow and barely leaking any blood whatsoever it enraged Kyknos to new levels making him slash, stab and cut at Hiccup like a mad man. Hiccup was able to dodge and block the strikes with a little difficulty before he ducked under another one of Kyknos' strike and then delivered a punch to Kyknos' stomach using his prosthetic that held his swords handle. Sadly, it only made Kyknos take a step back due to the fact that Kyknos had muscles that were hard as rock thanks to his hard training and demigod blood. Still this gave Hiccup the chance to begin his own counter attacks which Kyknos was able to dodge or block the attacks except for a single strike to his lower leg slightly above the ankle.
Kyknos hissed in pain before slamming his sword into the ground making a large crack form towards Hiccup with burning red flames that were letting off a heat that Hiccup could actually feel despite his immunity to flames and heat. Knowing these flames were not normal he quickly dived out of the way of the coming crack just as it reached where he was before a giant pillar of flames burst from the ground with heat that was so intense it melted the surrounding ice halfway through. Fortunately, the heat didn't last too long and the flaming pillar slowly died down giving Hiccup a chance to breath as the ice wall may have thinned but it was still intact. Kyknos then brought his sword down on Hiccup in a downward slash but Hiccup held up his sword blocking the blow using both hands to push Kyknos' sword back. Kyknos smirked and decided to use the opportunity to taunt Hiccup by saying.
"You know that bride of yours is quiet a beauty as is that snake you call a wife." He pushed down harder. "When you're gone, I think I'll take them as slaves and make them my bed warmers."
Hiccups blood boiled when Kyknos said this and he decided it was time to pull a dirty move right before he kicked his leg up kicking Kyknos right between the legs and for a brief moment it was as if time froze. Kyknos loosened the grip on his sword allowing Hiccup to quickly stand back up while throwing his sword back pushing Kyknos' sword right out of his hands and flinging it behind him and out of either of their reach. This resulted in all the lava legionaries turning to rubble where they stood leaving only the cyclops, minotaur's, harpies and six armed giants whose numbers had already rapidly dwindled. While this happened Kyknos fell to his knees grasping between his legs with both hands right before Hiccup pulled his sword back into his arm and then delivered a strong swing kick into Kyknos' face sending him to the ground. He didn't give him the chance to stand back up though as he quickly jumped onto Kyknos pinning him to the ground right before he began punching his face in as hard as he could while continuously chanting out.
"HOW DARE YOU!" This lasted for three full minutes before a voice that echoed through the valley stopping all battles, making the walls shake and the ice shatter yelled out.
"ENOUGH!" All eyes turned to the being who just appeared only ten feet away from Hiccup and Kyknos but Hiccup just glared at him.
"STAY OUT OF THIS HERMES, WHAT'S HAPPENING DOESN'T CONCERN YOU!"
"I'd say it does as it's my nephew who you have pinned to the ground while you pummel his face in." He walked up to them. "Alright Hiccup, Kyknos must have done something pretty bad to anger you to the point that if you were a god this island would be nothing but rubble at the bottom of the ocean."
"He brought an army and attacked all of my allies, my family, ruined my wedding and worst of all tried to kill me while claiming he'd make my wife Blanca and my fiancé Astrid his slaves that would warm his bed." Hermes let out a whistle.
"That is bad and now I can understand why you're acting this way but what I don't understand is what's with all the lava rock laying around." Hiccup got off Kyknos and pointed at him.
"You can thank Kyknos for that since those piles of stone are his former soldiers." Hermes raised an eyebrow before Hiccup pointed at Kyknos' sword. "He claimed he forged that sword from a star and imbued it with the flames of hell with some other form of magic that I'm not sure about since he didn't talk much about it." Hermes rushed over to the sword in the time it takes a person to blink and picked up the sword, checking it out before his eyes widened before he turned to Kyknos who was slowly pushing himself off the ground.
"Kyknos, please tell me the magic you infused this sword with isn't the kind I think you used." He just spat out some blood.
"There is nothing I won't do to get my revenge and claim my proper place among the god in Olympus." Hermes glared at him.
"After doing this, the only place you'll have a place in is Tartarus in a small cell." He then looked around at the battle that had begun again shortly after his arrival. "But first I better clean up this mess."
Hiccup didn't know what he meant but in the blink of an eye Hermes was gone followed by multiple roars and Hiccup turned to see all the monsters that were still fighting dropped dead with slit throats. Hiccup blinked oncemore and all the bodies of the beasts were gone as if they were never there to begin with before Hermes reappeared by Kyknos. He grabbed Kyknos by the back of his neck and lifted him up with a glare and Kyknos' sword in the other as he said.
"You'll be brought before Zeus and the other gods upon Mount Olympus where you shall be judged for your crimes." He then looked up at Hiccup. "Sorry for all the trouble Hiccup but don't worry I've dealt with all the beasts and cleaned up the mess while also tending to the wounded which fortunately was limited so you can get back to the wedding."
He then gave a single salute and then vanished with Kyknos and the sword before Hiccup could even ask why he had come in the first place and what was wrong with the swords magic. He was brought out of his thoughts when King Arthur walked up behind him and asked.
"Hiccup, who in the world was that man and what did it just do?" Hiccup turned to him.
"That was Hermes, messenger of the Greek gods and as for what he just did." Hiccup gestured around. "He took care of Kyknos remaining forces along with the clean-up of the bodies and healing everyone before heading back to Mount Olympus with Kyknos who was also the one responsible for this attack."
"We clearly have much to discuss but that can wait till later as right now I believe it best we return to the wedding." Hiccup smiled and nodded. "Before we do so I recommend you explain to the other guests what's happened and explain to them that this was not part of the wedding." He then looked unsure. "It isn't part of a Viking wedding, right?" Hiccup just rolled his eyes.
"No but there is the occasional brawl from time to time." He raised an eyebrow. "We Vikings enjoy a good brawl from time to time." Hiccup shrugged. "Live in a Viking village for a week and you'd understand." He nodded before we walked into the crowd to handle things and explain what happened.
4 hours later
Hiccups POV:
It's been four hours since Hermes finished the battle with Kyknos and an hour of that time was spent explaining what happened to the guests and checking everyone for injuries. After we made sure everyone was alright we got back to the wedding with Astrid handing me her ancestral sword, slamming the ceremonial axe into the birch, Astrid and I putting our wedding rings on before holding hands while Gothi wrapped the ceremonial cloth around our hands and giving our marriage her blessing. We then shared our first kiss as husband and wife while the crowd cheered for us with the exception of Gobber and Fishleggs both of which were crying their eyes out. Now we'd just finished the dinners main course of the dinner and moved onto the traditional dance between the bride and groom in front of the guests. This brings us to now with me smiling as I held Astrid in my arms as we waltzed around the dance floor as I said.
"I'm sorry about my past coming back to bite me on our wedding day and ruining things." Astrid giggled.
"It didn't ruin it Hiccup, it just added a bit more excitement to it and besides that" Her smile grew a bit. "there's just something incredibly romantic about fighting monsters with the man you love." I chuckled.
"Despite that I hope my life doesn't pull you into any more dangerous situations." She giggled.
"Blanca told me that being pulled into dangerous situations comes with the territory of being your wife." I twirled her around.
"Then you should also know I'm still going to travel to new lands and more than likely get wrapped into more adventures to save the land and possibly the world." She just gently caressed his face.
"As long as you come back to me and Blanca." I smiled.
"I always will." I pulled her into a kiss and knew our lives together were going to be wonderful and that I could take on any challenge as long as I had Astrid and Blanca waiting at home for me.
AN: And Astrid is officially Hiccups wife and this draws this part of the story to a close and for those of you wondering what Hermes was doing here, you'll have to wait and see. Now onto the Persian adventure which one on the polls and I'd just like to clear up that although things for this adventure will start up in Greece the main things shall happen in Persia.
