Chapter 211
Hiccups POV:
Toothless and I were now in Camelot and our time here had been busy with the first three hours of our time here had been none stop work, finding out what the situation was with the war. When Arthur and his generals told me how bad things where I knew things were not going to be the least bit easy as things were not going well in Camelot's favor. Morgan le Fay's forces had been attacking villages which normally supply the food to Camelot, capturing blacksmiths so those fighting are under armed, looting any village they cross of all resources and capturing the villagers. As for those villagers that are captured, they're used for slave labor or slaughtered like animals to be used as food for by Morgan le Fays orc forces. Furthermore, their attacks against her forces had not been going all that well since they'd been taking in so many refugees there'd been a food shortage with the soldiers not eating as much, wanting the people not to suffer even more. This meant they were weaker than usual due to hunger and along with this they didn't have enough black smiths to maintain or build new weapons and with the continuous battles the weapons they did have were in bad shape meaning.
After hearing all this I got to work on making the situation a little less grave with supplies and weaponry while mentally thanking Odin that I'd brought weapons and supplies from home. I opened up my spiderpack on the round table with the mouth enlarging before it pushed out most of the weapons by their handles so I could begin unloading them. Following this I brought out the crated of food I brought with me to help feed the people and the knights since we were going to need to be strong for the future battles in this war against evil. These weapons and food were able to put a small dent in the weapons and food shortage but if things are really going to get better, we'd need to gather more supplies and more blacksmiths to help with the food and weapons situation.
Once I'd fully unloaded everything and helped take them to the armory and food storeroom I came back to the round table and went over the known places where Morgan le Fay had set up base camps and routes her forces took. This was so I could plan out raids on the camps and ambushes on the forces that are making their way to where they were going but these were not going to be easy things since the majority of camps had prisoners. With prisoners, my attacks would need to be strategic and quiet at first so I could evacuate the prisoners before I launch a full-on attack on the base. I knew the first thing I'd need to do concerning these kinds of raids is release some of my automatons to find out where the prisoners were being held so I'd be able to figure the best way to save them.
That was all last night and earlier today me and Toothless flew over some of the enemy camps that were known by Arthur and the forces of Camelot. When we were above these bases, I'd send out my Scouter automatons and have them drop jewelwig automatons so I could use them to scout out each of the bases to find out what was going on in each of them. After that we'd returned to Camelot where I sat down in my room, cross-legged and used the eye of the dragon to see what was going on in each of the camps but when I saw what was happening, I wished I didn't know what was happening. The orcs were forging weapons and armor for their forces and if one of their own died, the body would be treated like fresh meat to be eaten. Then there's what they were doing to their prisoners, they were forcing people of all ages to haul things and while the village blacksmiths were forced to help supply the army. What's worse is if a person dropped from exhaustion they'd be beaten with in an inch of their life and locked up with no food or water for a day and they barely got any food as it is.
Now it was nightfall and I was standing next to Toothless on a cliff overlooking one of the enemy camps with a group of twenty knights standing behind me, all on horseback. The plan was for me to sneak into the base using my ninja skills and get into the mines and find dungeon within it which is where all the prisoners were being held. From there I'd begin evacuating them by creating a tunnel using my digger arrows and when they're all out of the base I'd drop them off with the knights before me and Toothless begin our own attack on the base. During this attack we'd kill any member of Morgan le Fay's forces I find and looting any supplies I can find to help with the supply problems in Camelot to lighten up on the food shortage.
As I stood there I examined the base and saw it was built up against a stone cliff but it wasn't surprising since this base was where they were mining metal to forge weapons and armor in other camps with more blacksmiths and forges. Attacking this base would be good blow to some of the surrounding camps since they were forging camps and breeding grounds for the orcs. By destroying this camp we'd be able to put a small dent in the weapon and armor production for Morgan le Fays forces so we might have an easier time handling thing with some of the enemy forces under armed.
As for the base itself, it was a small one with a wooden wall made of logs with sharpened tops while the outside of the wall were multiple wooden spikes pointing out and up and tapestries with le Fays symbol hanging from the walls. There was also a catwalk around the top of the wall on the inside with multiple orc lookouts while the inside was also swarming with guards, all heavily armored and armed with large flat-topped machete like blades with a point sticking out at the top. (AN: The blades the orcs wield in lord of the rings and the soldiers look the same armor wise.) At the back of the base going into the mountain was a mine shaft with people pulling wagons full of iron ore out of it before being forced back down into it by the orcs. Knowing this was not going to be easy I took a breath even with my ninja skills I knew I'd need to be extra careful since I did not want any casualties, civilian wise. I turned to Toothless and mounted him making him growl as I gently patted his neck and turned to the knights as I said.
"Be ready for the civilians and keep your guard up, the orcs might have scouts around." They all nodded as I looked back to the base. "Let's go bud." With that said we took off towards the base quietly gliding over it while I made my grootslang coat take its tight ninja outfit form. "I'll see you in a bit bud." He crooned. "I know bud but it's better if I go in alone for now since if they see you, we might end up causing a panic and they'll start killing the people and the last thing we want is any innocents losing their lives when there's no need for it." He growled and looked down. "Don't worry bud, when the people are out of there, we'll do a full attack on the base from above."
He growled and nodded as I switched his tailfin into automatic mode allowing him to fly on his own before I took a breath and dropped down from the saddle and began free falling towards the base. For a few seconds I just allowed myself to drop towards the base but quickly spread my wings out slowing down my decent and allowing me to steer where I was going to land. I silently flew towards the spot between two orc guards on the catwalk who were facing away from each other before I quickly pulled my wings back into my back and landed silently on the catwalk. Before they could turn and spot me I quickly jumped down onto the ground and jumped behind and empty wagon as four guards passed by. I then heard one of the orcs let out a roar and saw a group of humans walking towards the wagon as an orc pointed at the wagon I was hiding behind. It wasn't that hard to figure out that this wagon was going into the mine next which made me smile since it gave me an idea on how I could get into the mine without any of the orcs spotting me.
I quickly dropped to the ground and rolled underneath the wagon and stopped when I was right beneath it, facing up at the bottom and grabbed onto the bottom. I pulled myself up against it while releasing the legs of my spiderpack and stabbing them into the bottom of the wagon allowing me to grip onto it. It was then the wagon began moving towards the mine as I smiled since I'd be able to enter the mine without any of the orcs knowing which is good since it gives me the chance to find the dungeon where they were keeping the prisoners. As we went along though I let out a jewel wig and let it crawl onto the wagon, so I'd be able to at least know what was happening around me besides what was happening with the legs of those around me.
For a few minutes I just kept to the bottom of the wagon while using the jewelwig to see what was going on around the wagon and what I saw broke my heart. People were mining iron from the walls with pickaxes and shovels with bloodied hands and feet while their ribs stuck out from their chests and this wasn't just the adults in this condition but also the children whose dirty faces were also stained with tears. The only good thing about this was that there weren't too many guards and those that were around had no weapons or armor, just whips they were using on the people to force them to work faster. As we got deeper into the mine though I noticed there were fewer guards and people making me wonder where this wagon was going. It was then we entered a large cavern full of harvested iron ore with people loading empty wagons with the ore under the watch of two other orcs who were cracking whips. It was then the orc that had been walking next to the wagon the entire time walked to the front and for the first time spoke by saying.
"Alright you, worthless scum, get to work and load up that iron ore." It was then one of the male slaves walked up to him and dropped to his knees.
"Sir, we haven't eaten or had any water today, please allow us a small bit of water." The orc smirked down at him before turning to the other two orcs.
"Look at this filthy waste of space, it wants some water." They laughed as I rolled out from under the wagon and silently began walking up behind them and releasing my spiderpacks top two legs as the orc pulled out his sword and pushed the man down to the ground with his foot. "I'm going to stick you like a pig for not knowing your place and I'm going to enjoy it." The orc raised his blade above his head which is when I made my move and slammed my prosthetic fist into his back with the blade going right through his body impaling him as I said.
"Not as much as I'll enjoy sticking you and your pals."
Then before the other two could do anything I had my spiderpacks legs speed into their heads killing them both instantly and leaving their now lifeless forms just standing there, unmoving and dangling from the legs of my spiderpack. I withdrew the legs allowing the bodies to drop to the ground before I tossed the one impaled on my prosthetic knife to the side while withdrawing my blade. When the bodies were out of the way I kneeled and asked the downed man.
"Are you alright?" He looked up at me in shock, but I just smiled and pulled out my bottomless waterskin before offering it to him. "Here, drink some water and don't worry, I'll make sure there aren't any orcs coming." When he heard this, he immediately snatched my waterskin and began gulping water down while the other people began to walk up hesitantly. "Don't worry, I'm here to get you all out of here by order of King Arthur." The man stopped gulping down water to look up at me with tears of joy as the others did the same. "Now I'm going to go back and free the other prisoners but first, do any of you know where the dungeon is in this place is." One of the men nodded and said.
"It's down the mine and turn down the first tunnel on the left." He then grabbed my shirt. "Please, save our families down there." I gently removed his hands from me.
"I'll do my best and make sure any orcs I encounter don't live to see tomorrow." He smiled as I reached into my coat and pulled out a large bag of dried meat and tossed it to them. "While I'm away, eat and drink to recover some of your strength."
They each nodded while I summoned my ninja and ordered them to guard the cavern and to kill any orc, they see but remain in the shadows. With everything in place, I made my way down the mine but kept to the shadows since one orc would be all it takes to alert the others in this narrow mine. It was then I saw the tunnel leading to the dungeon but sadly there were two orcs standing by it and these two may not have been wearing armor, but they did have blades. I silently made my way behind them, using the shadows and my training while slowly releasing the legs of my spiderpack and when I was right behind them, I quickly had the legs thrust into their necks killing them near instantly. I then used the legs to gently lower their bodies to the ground before making my way down the tunnel, but I kept the legs out in case I ran into any more orcs.
Getting to the end didn't take that long with me running into six more orcs, armed with blades but they were easy to deal with since all it took was a single crystal from one of my spiderpacks legs, being launched into either the head or neck and they'd be down for the count. It was then I found myself hiding in the shadows outside the entrance to a small circle half sphere cavern where people were sitting down with their arms shackled to rings that were imbedded in the ground. Guarding them were ten armed orcs all standing against the wall with their blades facing down making me smile since it made things easier for me. I released my boomerang and stepped into the room while throwing my boomerang to the left side and watched as it circled the room before I held up my prosthetic and caught it. The moment I caught it though the orcs dropped to the ground with their heads rolling away from their bodies, completely severed from their bodies by my boomerang. I collapsed my boomerang and walked towards the people who looked at me in shock until I held up my hands to calm them down and said.
"Don't worry, I'm here to rescue you all here by order of King Arthur." I saw some of them beginning to cry tears of joy while some stared at me in shock as I walked up. "Just give me a moment to break the chains and then I'll get you all down to where the harvested ore is being kept, you'll all be safe there until I can get everyone else gathered and then we can begin evacuating." There were mutters of understanding as I gripped the ring in the ground. "Now let's take care of this weight that's holding you all down." I channeled a light green crystal, leaking acid onto the metal and doing so it easily broke, freeing the prisoners. "We'll get rid of the shackles later but for now, let's get going." With that said I lead them out of the cavern.
Getting back to the cavern where the ore was kept didn't take long and we were lucky since there were no orcs on the way, so we didn't need to fight. After everyone was inside the cove, I saw a few families share tear filled reunions, but I knew there were more reunions coming with all the people who were still stuck mining. It was then I saw the large pile of iron ore and knew this ore would be helpful with making new weapons for the knights and all those who'd be fighting against the enemy. There was also the fact that even if I collapsed the ceiling of the mine, the orcs would still be able to break through and find this cavern and gather the ore for to forge equipment for their forces. Knowing I couldn't leave this stuff behind I decided it would be better to take it with me so we could forge equipment for the army and took my spiderpack off with a lot of people backing up at the sight of it. I looked around at them and smiled as I said.
"Don't worry, this is a weapon and it is intimidating but I don't intend to use it on anyone here." I then placed it on the ground and allowed it to expand making everyone back away in fear. "Don't worry, it may be a weapon but it's also a large container that I can store things in." To prove my point, I hopped into the mouth and walked around it while saying. "It can't store any living things, so you have nothing to worry about." I then hopped out and walked over to a chunk of iron ore. "While I'm gone, I'd like you all to begin throwing the iron ore into it so we can use it back in Camelot to supply the troops and of course, get it away from Morgan le Fey and her troops." I threw the chunk into the mouth and watched it sink before turning to the men who were originally in the cove with one of them holding my bottomless waterskin. "Remember to share the water with anyone who needs it while I'm gone." He nodded before I made my way out to finish freeing everyone else.
When I got to the part of the mine where I could hear the sound of pickaxes hitting the wall along with the cracks of whips and I knew it was time to get to work. I reached into my grootslang coat and brought out my shadow sickle before pulling the chain out and activating my ox flame boots speed mode as I got ready to run while dangling the knife and spinning it around. I took one last breath right before I took off down the mine killing any orcs I crossed by either slicing the backs of their necks with my sickle, severing their spinal cord or whipping the blade at the end of the chain into theirs head. During this time, I could not have thanked Earth enough for his training with chained weaponry which included my shadow sickle since it was thanks to his training, I was able to wield my shadow sickle in such a way.
Now I was looking at an orc that was kneeling down on the ground, facing away from me with its hands swatting at its neck while the blade at the end of my chains was imbedded in his shadow at the neck. This orc was the last one in the mine and I'd caught it in the middle of it whipping a child for being too slow to work and it was because of this I wasn't going to show it the same mercy of a quick death that I did the others I encountered. I then switched on the handle before the orcs shadow was slowly drained from the orc as it let out strangled cries while its body slowly turned to black stone. When its body was completely stone, I pulled my blade back before swinging the blade again at the body with it wrapping around the body and then I pulled the blade back, shattering the stone into pieces. When the body was shattered, I put my shadow sickle away and turned to the child who was being beaten by the orc before I stepped in and saw the child had passed out from pain. I gently picked him up and began making my way back down the mine gaining the attention of those who'd been mining but were now looking at the dead bodies of their slavers in confusion probably wondering what happened. I didn't stop to tell them though, when I saw them, I just told them I was there to get them out and ordered them to follow me to where the ore was being held.
When we got to the cove a woman took one look at me and rushed over, snatching the child out of my hands while sobbing over the child's still form. It wasn't that hard to figure out that the child belongs to her, so I decided to comfort her and placed a hand on her shoulder as I said.
"Ma'am the kid's not dead, just unconscious but for now it's best we get something to seal the wounds left from the whip." I walked over to my spiderpack that the people had been loading the iron ore into and reached in before pulling out a healing salve that stops bleeding and some bandages before I tossed them to the woman. "Apply this to his wounds and then wrap them up with the bandages to stop the bleeding." She looked at me unsure. "Don't worry, I'm with king Arthur and it's not much but when we get to Camelot, we can get him the medical attention he needs." She nodded as I turned to the crowd. "Keep loading the iron ore into the mouth of my spiderpack while I make us all a safe way out of here."
They all nodded and got back to work while I made my way over to a wall that was facing the direction of the place where I was meant to meet the knights who were sent to escort the people back to Camelot. I took a breath and released my spirit bow while also taking out a digger arrow so I could begin tunneling a way out for the people without the orcs knowing about it and allowing me to avoid anyone of the prisoner's lives being put in even more danger. It would take a bit of time and a lot of my digger arrows but for the safety of the people, it was worth it and when they're all safe, the orcs were in for a big surprise from the sky.
Half-an-hour later
I was sitting on Toothless on the same cliff as before overlooking one of the enemy camps with the knights behind me with three wagons that held the people I rescued while my spiderpack was loaded with all the iron ore. I took a breath and turned to the leader of the knights and said.
"Get those people back to Camelot and get them the medical care and food they need." They all nodded but one walked forward.
"Are you sure you do not wish for help, destroying the enemy base?" I smiled at him.
"Don't worry, I've got all the help I need right here." I punctuated this last part by patting Toothless on the neck as he crooned. "You just focus on getting those people back safely and we'll meet up with you when we're done here." I then turned to the base and smiled. "This won't take long." I then got ready to take off. "Let's go bud." With that said we took off towards the base.
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup and Toothless were flying towards the base from high up so they could begin their attack with from above as Hiccup used his eagle eye to scout out what was happening. It was then they turned into a downward glide towards the ones on the catwalk and as they dived the familiar whistling sound of wind being cut echoed through the sky. The orcs looked up towards the sound just as Toothless spread his wings slowing down their dive and turning into a fast glide, straight towards three orcs on the catwalk. Toothless rammed right into the one in the middle while his wings hit the other two as they landed on the catwalk, pushing all three orcs over the wall and onto the wooden spikes below, killing them instantly.
All the orcs looked up at them on the catwalk in shock for a second before they roared and charged towards them with their weapons raised. Hiccup just smiled as he released two of his scimitars throwing knives and tossed them at two orcs who were charging at them from behind as Toothless shot a plasma blast at one who was coming at them from the front. The plasma blast struck the orc in the chest throwing it back and over the wall where it fell onto the spikes, impaling it and killing it. As for the throwing knives, they quickly activated their lunar mirage ability as they flew towards the orcs before all of them slammed right into the orcs, killing them both by filling their chests with knives.
This small win was short-lived though as the orcs that were behind the two simply pushed their two dead comrades to the sides either off the catwalk or over the wall and charged at Hiccup and Toothless. Toothless immediately jumped as he turned around, swatting an orc that was running at him from the front, off the catwalk as he did so. He let out a plasma blast hitting the orc in the chest and throwing it back into the others while Hiccup brought out three of his silver Loki balls and threw them towards the orcs and as soon as they hit the ground they multiplied. The orcs didn't notice though until they stepped on the balls and began tripping over each other with most falling off the catwalk when their comrades tried pushing them out of the way with a few being pulled over the edge with them.
Hiccup looked down at the orcs down on the ground and was disappointed to see most of them were alright but quickly pulled out a small handful of light green balls and tossed them down at the forces before they could recover. The balls exploded on impact trapping the orcs on the ground with others soon joining them as Hiccup smiled and said.
"Orcs, good fighters but they aren't too bright." Hiccup then turned back to the still stumbling orcs and saw three orcs charging at them after trampling their allies, but Hiccup smiled. "Toothless, plasma blast on the left!" Toothless immediately fired a blast at the left side of the orcs, striking the wall and creating a shockwave that threw the orcs to the side and off the catwalk, onto the others. "That's those three down for now." Hiccup then dismounted Toothless while releasing his crystal spear. "Now to deal with those that are tripping over themselves." He crooned but Hiccup just smiled and rubbed his head. "Don't worry bud, this'll be quick."
Hiccup the walked up to the orcs who roared and growled at him, but Hiccup just used his spear to stab them in the neck, chest or gut or push them over the edge onto the other orcs below in the slime. When they were all down in the slime he looked down at the orcs struggling in the slime and using the eye of the dragon he saw what was happening in the mine where he saw a few orcs had fled when they saw what was happening. He did this through the boom beetles he left littering the tunnels as he was evacuating the people so he could fully destroy the mine by causing multiple cave-ins and bringing the entire mine down on the orcs hiding there and there were a few. When Hiccup saw this, he shook his head and turned back to Toothless as he muttered.
"Cowards!" He then mounted Toothless. "Take us up bud, it's time we finish off this mine for good."
They flew up as Hiccup looked down at the base, including the orcs who were still trapped in the goo, trying to free themselves from the trap. Hiccup just smiled as he released his boomerang before loading it with his prosthetics explosive gas and then threw it down towards the base. He willed the boomerang to fly around the base spreading the gas all over the base covering it in a large cloud of flammable gas before Hiccup summoned his boomerang back to his prosthetic, putting it away as soon as it landed in his hand. Hiccup then smiled and raised his prosthetic as he said one word.
"Boom!" He then snapped his fingers and all the boom beetles in the mine went off causing cave-ins that fell on the orcs who weren't standing by one of the beetles. One beetle that was set up outside the mine at its entrance ignited the gas when it went off causing a large explosion killing all the orcs who'd been trapped in the goo and destroying the entire base. Hiccup smiled at this before patting Toothless on the neck as he said.
"Alright bud, that takes care of this place meaning they won't be getting anymore iron ore out of here." He then steered Toothless away from the base. "Let's go meet up with the knights bud." He growled and nodded before they took off.
2 hours later
Hiccups POV:
We were now back in Camelot, sitting at the round table after arriving back half an hour ago and the time we'd been here had been busy. We'd first been helping unload the people we rescued and getting them to the dining hall that had been turned into an infirmary for the injured. This was followed by me unloading all the iron ore we'd looted from the mine into the blacksmiths iron bins and they were grateful for this since they'd been running low but still wanted to help, anyway they could. After that we were summoned to the round table for some reason and this brings us to now with me simply waiting for the king to arrive while I rubbed Toothless who'd rested his head on the table, next to me. It was then the doors to the room opened and I saw Arthur walk in with Merlin at his side both smiling at me as they walked to the table with Arthur taking his usual place while Merlin stood beside him. It was then Arthur said.
"Hiccup, welcome back to the round table and I'd like to congratulate you on your victory against the orcs of the base you attacked." I smiled.
"Thank you, your highness, but it wasn't a difficult base to attack with Toothless at my side and with my weapons, it was easy to help the people escape."
"Either way, we are grateful for your help in rescuing the people, striking down the orc forces and for returning them to Camelot while also bringing back so much iron ore for our blacksmiths."
"It was my pleasure and when it comes to the ore, I figured we could use it to make new weapons, armor and more importantly, the less iron ore Morgan le Fay's forces have the more difficult it'll be for them to supply their forces." They nodded. "Any idea where that iron ore was being sent to though?" Merlin answered.
"It was being sent to a large base where they had made multiple large forges to forge armor and weaponry for the orcs." Arthur then said.
"We learnt from those that you rescued that it's where all the blacksmiths who were captured in the various villages, they come from were sent to." I sighed and turned to Toothless.
"Well I guess I know where our next attack's going to be bud." He crooned before I turned back to Arthur and Merlin who were looking at me in surprise before Merlin asked.
"Are you sure Hiccup, this base is more heavily armed than the mine you just attacked with more forces guarding it, all of which are heavily armed." Arthur then continued.
"We tried an attack on it once, hoping to free the prisoners while also being make things a little more difficult for the enemy forces to supply their troops slightly but the attack ended in disaster with many good men losing their lives and few returning uninjured." I smiled at him.
"Don't worry, I'll break the blacksmiths out and do a full-scale attack from above after dropping a few explosives into various places around the base to cause confusion among the orcs." Arthur then asked.
"And then I am to send in two legions of my knights to help finish them off?" I shook my head.
"No, I'll send in my own troops and attack with Toothless to help finish off any orcs there are and destroy all the weapons and armor their men had produced over the time they had." Merlin then asked.
"Hiccup, are you sure that your forces shall be enough to handle the orcs?"
"I'm sure Merlin, I've gained more troops along with some new weapons since our last meeting and I intend to do some damage to their numbers from above before attacking their forces on the ground." They nodded before Arthur said.
"I'll send a group of my nights to evacuate the people you free." I nodded.
"Can you tell me anything about how this place is built?"
"From what we have been able to gather it's a large pit which is where all the forging takes place and the area is surrounded by a weak stone wall with a few guard towers." I nodded.
"I'll do my best to at least put a dent in their weapon production and forces." They both nodded as I stood up and began making my way towards the doors as I turned to Toothless. "Come on bud, time to get back to work." They both stared at me.
"Surely you're not going out there again so soon." I turned back to them.
"It's a full moon tonight so it's better for an attack from the sky since I'll actually know what I'm dropping bombs on, but the orcs won't know what's happening above them." They nodded.
"Just try to return before dawn to get some rest Hiccup." I nodded before signaling Toothless to follow and we were off.
3 hours later
It's been three hours since we took off with a group of twenty knights and since then we've arrived at the base and gone through the motions of me sneaking into the base and finding the prisoners before evacuating them the same way I did the others. I did stop a few times to kill some of the orcs along the way since they were the ones guarding the blacksmiths who were in the cells. I'd already broken all the blacksmiths out and delivered them to the waiting knights who immediately began taking them back to Camelot where they'd be safe. After that I dropped a few of my void arrows into the grounds around the outsides of the walls to make sure there were no orc survivors who escape and warn any of the other nearby bases. Now I was looking down at the bas from above and smiled as I asked Toothless.
"You ready to do this bud."
He growled and nodded making me smile as I pulled out one of my bombs and pulled the pin before dropping it towards the ground where a group of orcs were loading a wagon full of weapons. The bomb landed in the wagon and before the orcs could do anything it went off throwing the orcs back while also throwing the weapons and chunks of metal everywhere, stabbing into the orcs and killing some of them. This also gained the attention of all the orcs who weren't working down in the pit with all of them wondering what just happened as I smiled. I then threw another bomb at a tall tower and saw it land at the foot of it before it went off destroying the legs causing it to fall on more orcs, killing them. I then noticed a few orcs running for the pit, so I threw a bomb towards them and when it went off, the shockwave sent them flying into the pit and falling to their doom.
I continued to do this for a few minutes causing chaos below while also killing off a lot of the orcs before we came into land outside the walls where we wouldn't be spotted since all the watch towers were destroyed. I dismounted Toothless and looked around, not liking what I saw in the least since this place was obviously once a forest, but the orcs had torn it all down and uprooted or chopped down all the trees to fuel the forges. To see such a thing was heartbreaking for me since this place was once teeming with life and now it was just symbol of what would happen to the rest of this land if Morgan le Fays son Mordred ever took the throne. Knowing I couldn't let this happen I kneeled to the ground and pressed my prosthetic against the ground before summoning my Anubis warriors. When they were all fully summoned, I mounted Toothless and pointed at the wall as I said.
"Attack that base and kill any orc you see, leave no orc alive and be careful." They each growled and gripped their weapons. "You now know what to do so without further ado CHARGE!" My warriors charged towards the wall as I smiled. "Let's go kill some orcs bud." He growled and we took off into the air and began flying towards the base.
From my position I watched as my warriors climbed the wall and attacked the orcs who were already in a chaotic state thanks to my bombing so my Anubis warriors were having no trouble killing the first few but then the orcs began to fight back. I then switched Toothless' tail setting so he could fly on his own and said.
"Alright Toothless cover me from above, I'm going to take my fight down to the ground." He crooned but I just patted his neck. "Don't worry bud, I'll be back soon."
With that said I jumped off him and free fell for a few seconds before spreading out my wings and steering towards a less crowded area inhabited by both my warriors and the orcs. I steered my glide towards an archer tower where two orcs were firing arrows at my warriors before I gave my wings a flap, launching a few feathers at them. I smiled when my feathers struck the orcs in various places on their bodies, making them stumble back and off the tower which gave me the chance to land safely. From the tower I saw that things were going well for my warriors since the surprise attack didn't give the orcs a chance to prepare so they weren't having an easy time fighting back. I smiled and released my crystal spear and unfolded my eagle shield while switching my prosthetic into its dragon claw form before I jumped from the tower with my wings spread to slow my decent and ran to join the battle.
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup ran at a nearby orc and quickly swung his sword at its head, catching it off guard but before it could react Hiccup slashed its neck, slitting its throat killing it. An orc noticed Hiccup and charged at him from the side, swinging its sword towards his head but Hiccup quickly held up his eagle shield blocking the blow while also shattering the orcs weapon and throwing it back, right in front of an Anubis warrior who made short work of it. Hiccup didn't notice though as he was focused on another orc that was charging at him but as it brought its sword down on him, Hiccup stepped back before delivering a hard kick to the orcs gut. When he did, a giant ox made of flames burst from the orcs back, dragging the orc away as it screamed while the ox dragged it towards the pit. Once they came within five feet of the pit the ox disappeared making the orc tumble back and fall down right into the pit, missing the catwalk leading down the pits wall and down into the pit.
Hiccup ignored this as he was busy stabbing an orc right in the chest, killing it as it made faces of pain before Hiccup pushed the body of the orc off his sword. Before he could do anything else though an arrow hit his left shoulder, followed by another one in the back-making Hiccup look to see who fired them while his Grootslang coat pulled the arrows into itself. Hiccup saw the two arrows had come from an archer tower he hadn't bombed making him growl as he swung his arm, launching the two arrows at two orcs who were doing battle with Anubis warriors, striking each in the head, killing them instantly.
Deciding to deal with the archer tower Hiccup switched out his sword for his African earth club and quickly slammed it into the ground making a large boulder burst from the ground. Before the boulder could fall back down though Hiccup swung his club at it, sending the boulder flying right at the tower hitting it right on the platform, sending the orcs flying as it was smashed. Hiccup didn't relax though as he quickly turned around swinging his club into two more orcs who were charging at him, sending both of them flying while Hiccup looked around and smiled. The reason for his smile is his Anubis Warriors were doing great, handling the orcs before a familiar whistling sound echoed through the area, right before another tower blew up. Hiccup knew it was Toothless, providing support from above with his plasma blast before he turned to the pit deciding it best to deal with the main reason he came here to begin with.
Unfortunately, there was a small group of orcs walking from the pit towards Hiccup, but he just smiled and activated his rhino helmet before charging at them. After a few steps the rhino formed around him shocking the orcs, making them back up slightly but by then it was too late as Hiccup slammed right into them. This threw them all over the place before the rhino stepped on them, crushing whatever it stepped on, killing them before the horn slammed into the last one, throwing it into the pit before Hiccup stopped at the edge of the pit. He looked down into the pit seeing a lot of orcs, various wooden constructs such as catwalks, small towers, piles of weapons and armor, piles of wooden logs, molds for the weapons and large holes in the walls with roaring fires with in them that Hiccup assumed were the forges since they had halfpipes with melted metal pouring down them. Hiccup then summoned his ninja and said.
"Let's go!"
Hiccup ran down the catwalk with his ninja following while he switched out his African club with his crystal spear, ready to kill any orc he ran into. It didn't take long to run into an orc since one immediately ran up to meet them with an axe raised but Hiccup thrust the head of his spear forward slamming it into the orcs before swinging it to the side, throwing the orc over the side of the catwalk. While the orc fell to the ground Hiccup and his ninja kept running down the catwalk until three arrows shot past them and into the walls before they looked up to see three orcs readying more bows. Before they could though Wind struck the two on the left with a kunai each into the neck while Earth threw the blade of his kyoketsu-shoge at the remaining orc, striking it in the neck before pulling it back and pulling the orc down with it.
When they were down Hiccup and his ninja continued down their way down until three more orcs charged at them before Fire threw his naginata at the one in the middle, piercing its chest. The other two didn't pay attention to their downed comrade and continued to run before Water ran ahead with his hook swords ready. Both orcs swung their blades at him, but he just dropped to the ground and hooked them by their armpits, pulling them both down onto their backs. He then quickly turned around slammed the blades on the bottom of his sword hilt into their necks killing them both. Hiccup and the other ninja ran past the bodies with Water following and Fire grabbing his naginata from the dead orc as they did so before four more orcs blocked their path. Metal ran ahead while bringing out his katana and in the blink of an eye he was behind the orcs with their blood staining his blade as the orcs fell to the ground. Hiccup and the others met up with him quickly before they all arrived at the bottom gaining the attention of multiple orcs as Hiccup said.
"Split up and kill any orc you find." They nodded and split up as Hiccup smiled. "Time to get to work."
He charged at the nearest orcs who happened to be the ones in front of the forge before he jumped and slammed the crystal end of his spear into the ground. Green crystals burst from the ground towards the orcs who dropped the logs they were about to throw into the fire to try join in the attack against Hiccup. Before they could do anything though the crystals slammed into them, throwing the five orcs into the forges themselves as they screeched in pain while Hiccup pulled his spear back, shattering the crystals. Hiccup looked around while slamming the head of his spear back, stabbing an orc that came at him in the stomach, slowly killing it.
While Hiccup did this his ninja were taking care of multiple other orcs using their own weapons from their various places around the forge. Wind was on a high up ledge using his kunai as ranged weapons, killing any orc that tried to flee or get the drop on Hiccup using their bows and arrows. Water on the other hand preferred to get up close and personal with the orcs using his hook swords curves to hook the orcs and trip them or throw them into each other. Fire was using the pole of his naginata to trip the orcs before stabbing them with the blade or using the blade to stab or slash any orc that dare cross his path. Then there's Earth who was rapidly spinning the chain of his kyoketsu-shoge with the blade at the end before he'd thrust the blade forward at any orc he saw, stabbing them in their heads or necks killing them or swinging the chain, wrapping it around their necks before the blade slits their neck but no matter which execution method he uses he'd pull it back and keep spinning the chain. As for Metal, he was using his speed to his advantage to wield his katana and end the lives of any orc he saw in the blink of an eye with none of the orcs able to stop him.
Back with Hiccup, he'd just impaled another orc with his spear while slamming the orcs body into the ground, killing it before Hiccup swung his spear up sending the body sliding into another orc, tripping it. Hiccup then raised his eagle shield to block an axe that was swung at him by an orc, causing the axe to shatter and creating a shockwave that through the unfortunate orc, right onto a pile of swords, killing it when the swords fell on it. Hiccup then stabbed his spear into the ground while folding up his eagle shield and then reached into his coat and pulled out a handful of orange Loki balls that he threw onto the weapons that covered the dead orc setting them ablaze and melting the weapons, merging them together and making them completely unusable.
Hiccup then turned to the forges and decided it was to destroy them fully and pulled out a hand full of his Loki balls in each hand, loaded with his explosive gas. He threw each hand full into each forge right as a few orcs were running past the forges towards him but it was just as they did this the forges exploded throwing all the orcs to the side while the forges collapsed. Hiccup then pulled his spear out of the ground and looked around for his next target only to realize the majority of orcs had been wiped out by him and his ninja. He then turned to one of the few remaining orcs who was trying to make a run for it and threw his spear like he would a javelin, striking the orc in the back making it fall down. Hiccup then ran up and forced the spear deeper in the still living orc, finishing it off before he pointed his spears crystal end at another orc and launched multiple crystal shards at its upper body, making it fall back, dead. It was then things fell silent and Hiccup looked around to find the last of the orcs had been finished off by his ninja who'd just approached him and were now bowing to Hiccup. He smiled at them as he said.
"Good work, I think we're done here so we can leave now." They bowed to him, but their enjoyment of victory was short-lived as the sound of slow clapping caught Hiccups attention and they all turned to see a man wearing black armor walking out of the shadows clapping as he said.
"Bravo Hiccup Haddock, you and your forces have done quite a bit of damage to this base." I took this time to fully examine this man and saw his chestplate had the same symbol that was on the orcs armor, along with this going down his back was a blood red cape that was being held onto his armor by skull shaped shoulder pads, he had long dark brown hair that went down to his neck and brown eyes that were tinted red and he was six feet tall so my best guess is he's in his twenties. "You're just as skilled as I was told." Hiccup immediately readied his spear while his ninja got into their battle stances.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
"I am Mordred, future king of this land and I am here to check on the production of armor and weapons for my army only to find you and your forces here with all that was produced, destroyed and my forces slaughtered." He looked at a dead orc in disgust. "Worthless beasts really." Hiccup just glared at him.
"So, you're the son of Morgan le Fay, the dark witch who took my arm." He just smiled.
"Indeed, she is my mother and she was merely dealing with you as you would stand in the way of my destiny." I raised an eyebrow.
"Your destiny?"
"My destiny to take the throne from my weak uncle and rule this land with an iron fist before extending my reach to the lands across the ocean."
"Sounds like you're just another power-hungry psycho who wants to take over the world." I smirked. "Only difference to the other one's I've faced in my life is you've got a mommy to hide behind." He growled as Hiccup smirked at him.
"I don't need my mother to deal with you now as I had a little surprise prepared for any who decided to cause me trouble at one of my bases." He then held up a hand and a fire ball formed above his palm and smirked. "It's a shame you shall not be able to watch the slaughter of the knights who guard that ridiculous wall in the valley when my forces march against it in four days nor will you be around to see me unleash the power of the horsemen upon this land." He threw it into a hole in the upper wall and there was immediately a burst of flame from the hole. "Goodbye, Hiccup Haddock."
He then disappeared in a puff of dark greenish-yellow smoke just as there were large explosions inside the upper walls which then began to crumble before Hiccup could even try to escape. Knowing he couldn't get out of this pit in time, he unfolded his eagle shield and held it up just as the rubble came down upon him and his ninja, burying them alive. From above Toothless could only watch in horror while dropping an orc he been carrying before he flew to the pit that had been fully filled in by the time he got down to the ground. Toothless landed on top of the filled in hole while listening for any sound of his rider, hoping to hear even the smallest sound to let him know that Hiccup was alright.
He let out one more croon right before there was a glow between the cracks making Toothless back up, away from the pit right before there was a giant shockwave, throwing boulders everywhere and leaving a large hole in the filled-up pit. Toothless ran over to the hole to see what was happening just as a familiar giant hook flew out and hooked onto the ledge making him bounce around in joy. A second later, Hiccup was pulled out of the pit by the hook which he immediately pulled back to his prosthetic arm and switched it back to his hand while he muttered.
"And I thought le Fay was the biggest psycho in Arthurs family tree." That was all he could say before Toothless pounced on him from his side and began licking him in joy as Hiccup laughed and pushed him off. "Easy there, bud." Toothless got off him making him smile and rub his head as a serious look formed on his face. "We have to get back to Camelot to report to Arthur, Merlin and the others what's happened and what we've learned." He growled and nodded as Hiccup mounted him before they took off for Camelot.
2 hour later
Hiccups POV:
It's been two hours since we took off from the now ruined base and since then things have been busy with us helping the blacksmiths get some food and water into them to help them recover. I knew these guys had a tough time ahead of them since when they were back at full strength, they'd be forging armor and weapons for the knights to help us defend Camelot. Now I was sitting at the round table with the other knights and king Arthur at the head with Merlin behind him after giving them a full report on what happened at the base. For a few moments there was silence as everyone processed what I'd told them what happened before Arthur said.
"By the sound of things, when Mordred spoke about a wall in the valley, he was referring to the wall within the valley of Avalon." I nodded. "What confuses me is why they'd attack that wall when their forces are already within the kingdom." As he said this I thought about its location and realized what they were planning.
"If I may your highness, I think I know what they're planning." He nodded as if telling me to go on. "They most likely hope to weaken our defenses by attacking the wall and then marching onto our lands so they may take over all villages in their path, gaining more slaves and resources for their army while also enabling them to attack Camelot from both the West and the East." The knights began discussing what I just said before Merlin said.
"I believe what Sir Hiccup has said to be true and I believe it best we send forces to aid the knights who are posted there and scouts to find out what it is we are dealing with." Arthur nodded before I stood up.
"Your highness, I volunteer both me and Toothless for this mission to aid the knights at the wall in defending it against the enemy forces while evacuating those of the nearby villages to Camelot and out of harms way." All eyes turned to me.
"Are you sure Hiccup, the chances are her forces will be immeasurable." I nodded.
"I have a few tricks up my sleeve that could do a lot of damage to their forces and even if I cannot defeat them all, I can at least buy some time for the people and knights to escape while putting a dent in the enemy forces." There were nods of agreement before Arthur nodded.
"Very well Sir Hiccup but I ask that you take some time to rest before leaving as you spent the night attacking the enemy bases." I nodded.
"As you command sire." With that said Arthur stood up once more.
"With that said, I bring this meeting to an end."
Everyone stood up including me before we each took our swords out of the hilts on the chairs and raised them up and then sheathed them once more and then took off to do our own thing with me and Toothless going to rest a bit for the coming battle. As I left though, I noticed a troubled look on Merlin's face, and it made me worry since there is very little in this world that can trouble a man of his age and power. I knew I'd have to talk to him about it later but for now me and Toothless needed to rest for the long journey ahead and the coming battle.
AN: And here's another chapter for you all to enjoy but I have to say I was rather disappointed with the reaction to the last chapter with it only getting two reviews. I know it was a rather boring chapter, but I wanted to do something sweet with the kids bonding with their new parents before Hiccup went off to war. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and will review kindly to this one since I would like more than just two reviews for this one. Now please remember to review kindly, stay safe and until next have a nice day guys.
