Chapter 212

Hiccups POV:

It's been two days since I met Mordred and that time had been nothing but busy with me helping to evacuate all the villages near the wall that would be attacked. The knights did the escorting of the villagers alone whenever we reached the halfway point and those who were closer to wall were sent there so they could take refuge in the catacombs beneath the mountain where the tower was. This tower was the main base connected to the wall and built into the side of the valley with a curved bridge on the one side allowing people to enter the tower. Sadly, this bridge was also on the side where the orcs would be marching from meaning they'd most likely be climbing up it to take the tower. (AN: Picture the tower and wall from 'lord of the rings Battle of Helm's Deep'.)

Once all the villages were evacuated, I was able to get to work, preparing for the coming attack alongside sirs Tristram and Galahad who'd come, leading four knight squadrons to help with the coming battle. We'd spent two days preparing the plan for the attack to defend the wall and I was confident we'd be able to hold the wall and force the orcs back. I'd been firing my void arrows at various places all over the future battlefield so we could at least do a small amount of damage to the enemy forces, going over plans with the knights on how to most effectively deal with the coming forces, preparing buckets full of arrows for archers which included my own jade warriors and so much more. All of this was leading up to this moment when me and the forces of the tower would be fighting against the orc army that was now marching towards the wall.

Presently, it was raining hard down on the land while I was standing on the wall, Tristram and Galahad at the top of the tower with the majority of knights who were archers and joining me on the wall were half my Anubis warriors and half my jade soldiers. This formation worked with there being three rows with my Anubis warriors at the back for if the orcs get on the wall and two rows of my jade soldiers so when the first rows fired their arrows, they'd step back to reload while the second-row steps forward and fires. Behind the wall a couple of feet back were my remaining jade warriors who'd fire their own arrows, over the wall at the orcs and in front of them were my Spartan warriors, ready to defend my archers if the wall was breached and knowing Morgan le Fay she had something to do just that which is why the remainder of my Anubis warriors were in front of them, ready to charge in against the enemies. Other than my own forces, the forces on the tower was made mostly of knights and archers but it was made up of able-bodied villagers since we needed all the help we could get and I'm sad to say it included some young boys, at the very least only twelve years old. It was because of this, I had Toothless, waiting at the top of the valleys wall, holding a large bag with a special surprise that was sure to catch the orcs off guard and put a small dent in their forces.

It was then I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of marching in the distance and looked ahead using my eagle eye to see the orcs marching towards us and their numbers had to be in the hundreds. I knew right then and there it was not going to be an easy fight even with my traps that had already begun picking off a few of their numbers. I released my spirit bow while signaling my archers to prepare to fire and my Anubis warriors to be ready to fight if they begin climbing the wall and since I could see they had ladders, that's exactly what they were going to do. I then took out three storm arrows and readied them to fire knowing that even just one of my storm arrows would do some damage so three of them were bound to put a small dent in their forces.

It was at that moment the orcs lined up in rows, spears facing up as they stood fifteen feet away from the wall and stared at it without moving. For a few seconds there was silence with the only sound being the rain as it hit the ground and although the sound the drops made were silent, to me it sounded like drums pounding as I stared at my enemies who stood there, staring at the wall. It was then a single orc wielding a large machete climbed onto a rock in the middle of the orc legions and let out a roar before the orcs began slamming their spears against the ground while chanting something. I glared at the orcs until a single arrow was shot from the tower, striking the orc on the rock right in the head before it fell to the ground as I looked up at the one who fired the arrow and saw it was an old man who muscles must've given in. For a few seconds there was silence as everyone looked at either the tower or the dead orc and then the silence was broken by an orc letting out a roar of anger with many doing the same before charging. This meant the battle had begun and without hesitation I yelled.

"FIRE!" I pointed my bow up and launched my arrows while my jade warriors began firing their own before stepping back to reload, allowing the others to fire as those at the tower fired their own arrows with the archers behind the wall doing firing above us but as I watched the orcs fall I could tell this was only the beginning.

Nobodies POV:

The orcs continued to fall as arrows rained down upon them but despite the endless rain of arrows coming from Hiccup and his forces on the wall and those upon the tower, they continued their charge. This is something Hiccup took notice of as he continued to fire his storm arrows in sets of three to kill more orcs than he could if he used them with another type of arrow. It was then the orc archers armed with crossbows made their way through the crowd and began firing arrows at those on the wall, shattering the heads of jade warriors and taking them out of the battle. When one of the warriors at Hiccups side lost its head to an arrow making him growl before turning to where the arrow came from to see an archer, reloading its crossbow. Hiccup released the rotating blade from his prosthetic and launched it at the archer before it could fire, hitting it in the head, killing it while throwing its body back.

It was then Hiccup noticed a large group of orcs holding shields above their heads marching up the bridge with the orcs in front walking with their shield in front. Hiccup knew they were going to attack the tower gate, so he rushed to the side closer to the tower and ordered the archers.

"FIRE AT THE ORCS ON THE BRIDGE!" The archers immediately changed their targets while Hiccup looked back at the front of the wall and saw the orcs had begun raising their ladders. "ARCHERS PREPARE FOR CLOSE COMBAT AND ANUBIS WARRIORS TO THE FRONT!"

The jade warriors stepped back and switched out their crossbows for their spears while the Anubis warriors stepped forward while snarling and ready for a fight and since there was an orc on top of each ladder, they were about to get it. Hiccup reached into his coats sides with both hands and pulled them out but now they were wearing his ice claw rings that he immediately activated while releasing the legs of his spider pack. Without hesitation he began rapidly firing the crystals from his spiderpack at the orcs on the ground, killing or wounding them before turning his attention to the ones on the ladders that had just struck the wall. He held up his ice claws and began firing icicles at them, hitting the ones climbing up the ladders near him making them fall to off or die instantly.

The orcs on top of the ladders who were able to make it to the wall immediately jumped off and began swinging their machete like swords around, wounding a few Anubis warriors while smashing the jade warriors. Their attacks didn't last long though since the moment they paused was when the warriors took their chances with the jade warriors impaling them on their spears while the Anubis warriors were a bit more vicious. They'd slam their axes down on the orcs, strike them in the chest, claw at their heads or simply grab the orc and throw them off the wall and onto their allies. These deaths didn't stop the orcs from climbing up the ladders though and they did it so fast that the warriors would take one down from the ladder but another would take its place, jumping onto the wall and keeping the troops busy so others could climb up.

This meant the troops on the wall had their hands full and Hiccup was no different as he was using his ice claws to kill enemies along with his spiderpack. Presently Hiccup was in battle with an orc wielding an axe before he stabbed it with his left hands ice claws making its body freeze. He quickly grabbed the frozen orc and threw it at an orc who'd just climbed up the ladder pushing the orc down before it could let go so it went down with the ladder.

Hiccup didn't get to enjoy this victory for long though as another orc tackled him from the side but with his leather chest plate active, the chains shot out into the ground, preventing him from falling. This allowed him to grab the orc from under its arm before he threw it over his shoulder and off the wall with it landing on one of its allies. Hiccup turned back to the bridge and saw the orcs who were marching up it were getting closer to the door, despite the archers on the wall doing some damage to their formation. The archers on top of the tower couldn't do anything though with the shields blocking all their arrows and the occasional rock they threw down. Hiccup quickly launched multiple icicles and crystals at the orcs at the front killing them and giving the archers on the tower a short opening to hit a few orcs from the front. Hiccup knew this was a short solution since there were more orcs rushing up the bridge to help the others, so he decided to call for help with this problem. He quickly let out his dragon call before he caught sight of Toothless from above and signaled him to help with the bridge but to be ready with the bag before he continued to fight on the wall.

Toothless swooped down from his place on the mountain towards the bridge and did a barrel roll while launching three plasma blasts at the orcs on the bridge. The plasma blasts exploded on impact, sending multiple orcs flying off the bridge and to their doom while Toothless flew back to his original place with the leather bag next to him, watching the battle from above and keeping a close eye on his rider on the wall. As he watched Hiccup fight, he couldn't help but give a side-glance towards the bag since his rider had told him to fly over and drop its contents when he gave the signal but he didn't tell him what was in it. Toothless had sniffed the bag and had smelt something familiar inside but he couldn't figure out where he'd smelt it before, but he also knew that he'd find out soon.

While Toothless kept his mind on the bag and eyes on Hiccup, the orcs on the bridge had recovered and begun making their way up towards the gate again, even though the archers on the wall were still firing at them with the occasional icicle shots from Hiccup. Sadly, it wasn't enough, especially since orcs kept interrupting the archers, even with the Anubis warriors helping to fight them back alongside the spearmen of their own group. Hiccup also couldn't help the archers out that much as he had his hands full, fighting the orcs who'd made it onto the wall since the number of warriors had begun to diminish, despite their strength. It was then the orcs on the bridge reached the door and parted to reveal a wooden battering ram that they slammed into the door to try and break it down. This was something those inside took notice of and they immediately pressed against the door to hold them back while those on top of the tower had begun throwing rocks down to try and slow them.

Sadly, it wasn't enough as they were able to break a hole in the door with their battering ram and the second it was pulled out, archers stepped in and fired arrows at those inside. It was then Hiccup took notice of what the orcs were doing and growled knowing he needed to help so he shot one last round of icicles at a few orcs, killing them before collapsing the claws and reaching into his coat, putting the rings away. When he pulled his hands back out, he had his mystic bo staff that was no bigger than a pencil in his real hand before he switched his prosthetic hand out for his hook. He quickly launched it towards the top of the tower, hooking it on the ledge before he jumped up while reeling in a bit and swinging off the wall and towards the bridge.

He swung right into some of the orcs, knocking them right over the edge and to their doom as he enlarged his bo staff to regular size and pulled his hook back down to him. His hook had already been covered in water by the pouring rain so the second he got it back he swung it and threw a blade of hardened water down the line of orcs, making their way up the bridge. This killed those that weren't pushed off the bridge by those who were trying to avoid the blade as the ones who were pushed off were killed by the fall. Hiccup didn't pay attention to them though as he was busy switching his hook out for his hand before he turned his attention to the orcs who were still attacking through the hole in the door. He swung his bo staff at them as hard as he could sending them flying off the side and allowing the people inside to see him as he yelled out.

"REINFORCE THE DOOR WHILE I HOLD THEM BACK!"

The people inside were quick to begin work while Hiccup turned to the charging orcs and pulled out his kappa shell helmet before placing it on the ground allowing it to hover. Hiccup then extended his staff by five more feet before hopping onto the kappa shell helmet and taking off towards the orcs with his staff held high over his head as he rapidly spun it around. When he reached the orcs he slightly lowered his body so his staff was striking the orcs in their heads, sending them falling off the bridge to their doom. When he reached the halfway point on the bridge though he jumped off his kappa shell helmet while pushing it forward, sending it forward at the coming forces. It flew at them, decapitating three of the orcs before imbedding itself in the chest of one orc while Hiccup retreated to the higher parts of the bridge, to see how the doors reinforcements have come. When he got there Galahad stuck his head through the hole and yelled.

"HICCUP, WE'VE GOT THINGS HERE SO GET OUT OF THERE!"

Hiccup nodded but before he extended his staff by forty feet and used it to pole vault back to the wall while summoning his kappa shell helmet back to him. When he landed he caught his helmet and put it away but before he could do anything though he saw an orc holding a giant torch jump into an opening in the wall that was used to let water out. When it jumped into the hole there was a giant explosion creating a giant hole in the middle of the wall while sending those on the wall, both ally and enemy flying along with giant pieces of wall that crushed a few orcs. Hiccup didn't like this one bit though since it meant the orcs had a way past the wall and with it, an easy way to attack the tower from both sides making it more difficult for the knights to defend. Hiccup saw the orcs getting ready to charge in and knew it was time to pull out his secret weapon and let out his dragon roar and saw he'd gotten Toothless' attention before giving him the signal.

Toothless immediately grabbed the bag and flew over the orcs until he was behind their troops before he let the bag open and dropped its contents to the ground. The contents were one hundred and fifty teeth belonging to Damen, all pouring down to the ground and sinking in but the orcs were too busy charging forward to take the tower to notice. The orcs never saw the fully armed, skeleton warriors sprouting out of the ground and charging at them from behind until it was too late. The orcs at the back of the army were attacked by the skeletons that had begun slaughtering them from behind as if they were nothing and did a bit of damage before the orcs took notice and the ones at the back tried to fight back while Hiccup looked at it with a smile and said.

"I knew saving Damen's teeth would pay off someday."

He then turned to the orcs that had begun getting through the wall and growled before he released his spirit bow and took out three fire arrows before firing them in front of the orcs that had made it through the wall. A giant wall of flames sprouted between the orcs and Hiccups troops but some orcs at the front weren't fast enough to stop and went through the flames, burning them alive. Hiccup jumped from the wall while activating his ox flame boots speed mode and ran towards his forces behind the wall of fire before he signaled them to fire. The jade warriors launched their arrows at the wall of fire lighting their arrows before they struck the orcs on the other end killing them as the flames died. When the flames were down, the orcs continued their charge as Hiccup pulled his bow back in and replaced it with his Anubis khopesh before he pointed his weapon at them and the Anubis warriors charged.

Hiccup watched as the Anubis warriors ran past him at the coming forces and smiled since he'd let a scouter out before the battle began and knew that the orcs were losing numbers fast from both ends thanks to the skeleton warriors at the back and his forces at the front. He turned to his Spartan warriors and Jade warriors before signaling them to join the charge which the Spartans were all too happy to do, not being happy with being left out of the battle and ran past Hiccup with the jade warriors following behind. Knowing that standing around wasn't doing anything, Hiccup joined his forces and charged at the orcs, ready to kill any orc that dared to attack him.

Half-an-hour later

Hiccups POV:

I slammed my Anubis khopesh into the stomach of one of the few remaining orcs killing it before I took out three scimitar throwing knives and threw them at a group of orcs, fighting with the skeleton warriors, filling the orcs backs with them allowing the skeleton warriors to finish them off. I then turned to slice the head off another orc before ducking under the blade of an orc that had run at me from the side and then slashing at its leg making it fall down as its body rapidly aged. I then looked around hoping to see where my next opponent was but much to my surprise and joy I saw that there were barely any left and those that were left were being finished off by my warriors. I smiled and made my way over to the skeletal warriors who were now looking at my own warriors before I took out a gold coin and tossed it at them and as expected they began fighting over it. With that problem taken care of I took a breath as I looked at the summit and saw the sun was beginning to rise before I heard the sound of footsteps rushing towards me and turned to see Tristram and Galahad running towards me. When they reached me Galahad looked at me and asked.

"Hiccup, are you alright?" I grinned and answered.

"I'm fine but glad my wives aren't here." I chuckled. "They'd let me have it for being out all night." They both chuckled. "Any casualties in the tower?" Tristram answered.

"A few wounded from when the door was breached but fortunately no casualties thanks to you using your own forces on the wall." I let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good to hear." It was then a familiar whistling sound echoed through the area and I smiled as Toothless came to land in front of me and rushed to nuzzled my chest making me smile and rub his head. "I'm fine bud and glad to see you're alright to." I then turned back to the knights as Galahad placed a hand on my shoulder and said.

"Hiccup, we can never thankyou enough for this day as you are the one responsible for this victory." I smiled but before I could reply a familiar voice said from behind me.

"It is quite an impressive victory for you Hiccup Haddock." We all turned to the voice and my blood ran cold as the knights brought out their swords, Toothless growled and I switched out my Anubis Khopesh for my star sword while unfolding my eagle shield and glaring at the owner of the voice who was also the one who took my arm.

"What are you doing her, Morgan la Fey?" She smiled.

"I simply wished to come and enjoy the fruits of my victory but it seems, thanks to you, I have no victory to enjoy despite my son telling me that he'd dealt with you." I smirked at her.

"It's times like these I wonder when you villains will realize I'm not that easy to get rid of." She smiled.

"I'll give you that much." She looked around at the bodies. "Still you have done me a favor by slaughtering so many of my forces." I raised an eyebrow and did not like the look she was giving the corpses one bit. "I was hoping the corpses of my brothers' forces would be mixed with my own forces but you put an end to those plans." She shrugged. "It doesn't matter though as I still have what I need for my ritual." I raised an eyebrow.

"Ritual?" She smiled.

"Allow me to demonstrate a part of it."

Her hands ignited in dark green flames as I got into my battle stance before she slammed them to the ground sending the flames all over the land engulfing all the bodies of her fallen warriors but surprisingly the flames missed us entirely. When she stood back up the flames pulled back into her hands before forming a flaming ball in her hand but I noticed that the battle field had been stripped clean of the dead but there was also a mark in the flames. We all turned to Morgan la Fey who just smiled as she said.

"These corpses will do for my plans." She then looked at us. "Give my best to both my brother and former mentor you fool." She thendisappeared in a giant burst of flames before I turned to Tristram and Galahad.

"We need to talk to Merlin." Galahad replied.

"You go ahead and warn them, we'll evacuate the people back to Camelot." I nodded before I mounted Toothless.

"Let's go bud." With that said we took off back to Camelot.

2 hours later

It's been two hours since the meeting of Morgan la Fey and half that time had been spent travelling back to Camelot and the other half had been spent telling Arthur and Merlin what happened. Now we were sitting at the round table with Merlin and Arthur sitting across from me while the other knights sat around us, all absorbing what I'd just told them. It was then Merlin broke the tense silence when he asked.

"Hiccup, would it be possible for you to draw the symbol you saw in the ball of flames." I smiled at him.

"Already done Merlin." I reached into my grootslang coat and felt the paper pushed into my hand. "I drew it before I came here." I pulled out the rolled-out paper before Merlin used his magic to levitate it to his hand.

"Thank you Hiccup." When he unfurled the paper and saw the symbol, all color drained from his face as he looked up at me. "Are you absolutely sure this is the symbol you saw?" I nodded and the look on his face looked grim.

"What's going on Merlin?"

"Morgan la Fey has dabbled into a form of magic that should never be in this brought into this world by mortal hands." I did not like what I was hearing one bit.

"Merlin, what has she done?" He sighed and looked down.

"From what I can tell, Morgan la Fey intends to use the bodies in a ritual that shall bring about the four horsemen of the apocalypse." As soon as those words left his mouth chaos broke out around the table and I couldn't blame them since I'd read about the horsemen and knew they would bring nothing but horror and doom to this world.

"Are you sure Merlin?" He nodded.

"I'm sure."

"But why would she do that since they'd destroy this world?" He shook his head.

"No, that is only possible if they are at their full power." We all turned to him wanting an explanation. "This ritual will only summon them in full form but with only a sliver of their true power while also binding them to the one who summons them using a powerful item as an anchor."

"So, she'll have the four horsemen as her minions with their power at her disposal?" He nodded sadly as I stood up throwing my chair back. "We need to stop her before she can complete the ritual?" Merlin sighed as he looked down.

"I'm sorry Hiccup, once the ritual has begun it cannot be stopped and soon the horsemen will rise under her control." I sat down and took a breath as Arthur asked.

"What do you advise we do now Merlin." He sighed.

"There is nothing we can do besides ready for battle so we may buy the citizens time to evacuate." Hearing this there was an uproar around the table until Arthur said.

"Silence!" He turned to Merlin. "What do you mean Merlin?"

"Sire, there is no way to defeat the horsemen so all we can do is allow the citizens to escape while we hold the forces back." It was then an idea struck me.

"That might not be necessary Merlin." All eyes turned to me. "I think I have something that might be able to help us fight against the four horsemen." He raised an eyebrow. "Have you heard of the wolf, Fenrir?" He raised an eyebrow.

"The wolf who was chained up by the gods and is said to one day break free and bring about the apocalypse?" I nodded.

"Hiccup, I hope you do not believe we should release that beast to face the horsemen." I smiled.

"Not when we can use the wolf he sired that I raised." He raised an eyebrow before Arthur ordered.

"Explain!"

"A few years back I went up against a group of frost giants who wanted to freeze the world to breed an army to take over the nine realms but I defeated them and one of the rewards I was given from the elves was the unwanted runt, fathered by Fenrir." I took a breath. "The elves believed I could raise him to help fight evil and eventually go up against his father, stopping him from destroying the nine realms." They nodded before Merlin asked.

"How fast can you get him here?" I smiled and then yelled.

"ADAL!"

Everyone looked at me confused until a howl echoed through the room right before a portal opened up above the round table and then Adal jumped right through. He flew over our heads and landed right behind me before looking around for any threat and growled at the knights before I raised my hand signaling him to calm down. He did so and lowered his head next to me making me gently stroke his large head as all the knights and Merlin stared at me and him in shock. I decided to break the silence and gestured to him as I said.

"Everyone, this is Adal, the unwanted runt who was fathered by Fenrir and raised by me." Everyone looked uneasy until Arthur asked.

"Are you sure this wolf can be trusted Hiccup?" I nodded.

"I've raised him from a cub your majesty, as long as you don't threaten me or him then you have nothing to worry about." He nodded.

"Alright Hiccup, I trust you." It was then Merlin said.

"Hiccup, I trust you as well and can see your wolf is powerful but are you sure he will be able to handle the horsemen as he does not seem that powerful." I smiled at him.

"Right now, the collar around his neck is keeping his power restrained and him in this form but when he's in his battle form, his power goes through the roof as does his size and abilities." I looked down at my wolf. "He can at least handle one of them or at least buy us some time and put a dent in the orc forces." He nodded before Arthur said.

"Very well Hiccup." He then turned to Merlin. "How long will this ritual take to complete?"

"A week at the least and month at most sire." He nodded.

"Then for now I believe it best we continue our attacks on the enemy bases, rescue the slaves and bring them to safety and continue to prepare and strengthen our defenses." Everyone nodded as he turned to me. "Hiccup, today I want you to get some rest, you have been out all-night fighting and I need you in top shape for the coming battles." I nodded as Arthur stood up. "Meeting adjourned."

With that said everyone stood up and left the room with me leading Toothless and Adal out but as I walked I couldn't help but worry about what was to come since. The horsemen of the apocalypse were forces on par with Fenrir with each representing thing that meant big trouble and carrying a name to show the coming of the apocalypse. Their names told of what they brought upon the land, conquest, war, famine and death, the symbols of what comes with the apocalypse. I knew this was not going to be an easy fight, even with Adal helping us but I knew that if I fall in battle, I was at least going to take as many of the orcs and other dark beasts with me. Along with this the fact that Morgan la Fey and Mordred had gone so far as to summon the four horsemen proved that they're too dangerous to let free so they need to be taken out of this world before their madness and hunger for power destroyed it all. The problem was, how was I meant to do so since I stabbed her right through the stomach with my star sword and from what Merlin told me, I'd only succeeded in wounding her slightly. I knew killing them was not going to be an easy thing to do but I'd been in tougher situations but the question is how I was meant to defeat this enemy. For now though I needed to rest after the night I had so I left for my room to get some sleep.

AN: Yes I know it's short but I needed to save some things for the next chapter and for those of you who are wondering why Arthur is Mordred's uncle and not his father like in the stories, the reason is I hated that part as Morgan and Arthur were half siblings and I do not do incest. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter despite its shortness and will review kindly so until next time have a nice day, stay safe and review kindly.
