Chapter 220
Hiccups POV:
Darkness was the only thing I could see as I went over everything I could remember happening before the darkness consumed my vision. All I could really remember was ending the Pharaohs Serpent by stabbing the ankh of calamity and my star sword into its magical core before a shockwave threw me off its head. The last thing I saw before I blacked out though was the serpents body turned to stone while the souls it had devoured and those that had been trapped in the ankh were freed. I groaned as feeling returned to my body and I was struck by multiple aches all over my body before I slowly opened my eyes and looked up to see a sky full of stars. I placed my hands against the ground feeling cold marble beneath my real hand before a familiar voice said.
"Welcome back to my barge Hiccup Haddock." I pushed my body up to look at the owner of the voice and my eyes widened at the sight of the Egyptian god Ra and on either side of him were the other gods of Egypt and seeing this I quickly got onto my knees bowing to them.
"I am honored to once again be in your presence, gods of Egypt." They all smiled down at me.
"Hiccup Haddock, please stand up as if anyone should be bowing it should be us after the great feat you've accomplished." My eyes widened as I stood up and looked at them. "What you have done is a great feat that not even we gods were able to do, as while we were able to capture its magic, you were able to not only slay the beast but free all the souls from it along with destroying the ankh of calamity, freeing the souls from it." He smiled. "Because of you countless souls are now free to make their way to the afterlife." Hiccup smiled until Anubis said.
"Sadly, that means a massive amount of work for me as I am the one who escorts them to the afterlife." Everyone chuckled at this before a thought occurred to me.
"If you don't mind me asking lord Ra, what about the snake creatures that the Pharaohs serpent released, like the one that attacked me and my family?" Ra frowned.
"The ones it released in the desert and sent out to gather souls of travelers while the beast itself attacked Alexandria all perished with their creator when it died." I let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm glad to hear that." It was then my eyes widened as I remembered something else.
"What happened to my starsword and khopesh?" Thoth was the one who answered.
"Both your starsword and khopesh have gone through some changes for different reasons with your khopesh needing to be rebuilt while your starsword took in some of the magic of the serpent." My eyes widened.
"I'm sorry but did you just say my starsword absorbed magic from that thing?" He nodded.
"When the serpents magic was being corrupted it sought refuge in the first place it could escape to and that was your starsword, however the Chronos stone mixed with the swords own magic was able to not only prevent it from taking over but also absorb it into itself allowing your sword to go through a transformation."
"So, is it still useable?"
"Not only is it still usable but has gained a new form and multiple new abilities with it which you will have to discover for yourself." I nodded before Ra clapped his hands.
"Now let us move onto other business as we cannot allow such a great deed go unrewarded so bring out the gifts." It was then the goddess Isis stepped forward.
"I shall go first." She walked forward and when she was five feet away from me, she lifted her right hand and held it out to me to reveal a small ruby that was a little bigger than the ones I'd use in the eyes. "This ruby may be small now but it has a lot of power and shall serve you well as a new addition to your prosthetic." It floated towards me and gently landed in my prosthetics palm which opened up and pulled it in before I dropped to my knees, gripping it in pain for a few seconds until the pain stopped and then stood up.
"Thank you, Lady Isis." She just smiled and stepped back as the god Nehebkau stepped forward and said.
"Hello Hiccup Haddock." I bowed to him.
"Lord Nehebkau!"
"The gift I bring you is a new addition to your arsenal of darts."
He held out a small dart belt that floated over to me before I took out a single dart and found that these darts were different to my regular darts. To begin with they were made of grey metal that had a scale pattern on them and wrapped around the darts were golden cobras with the heads resting on the tops away from the pointed ends. I was brought out of my thoughts when Nehebkau said.
"These darts are forged from the venom of the Pharaohs Serpent and because of this, they are deadlier than those arrows you have that are covered in the blood of the hydra so use them sparingly and only against those who are true threats to the mortal world." I nodded.
"Don't worry, I will be careful with them and I thank you for this weapon against only those who pose an actual threat against Midgard." He just nodded and stepped back before I felt a little uneasy as the god Seth stepped forward.
"Hiccup Haddock, I know you may not like me as I provided Ahura with power that she used to harm both you and those you care about but I am grateful to you for defeating the beast that threatened to destroy my pyramid that holds my power and for that I give you this." He pulled out a brown leather bag as Ra said.
"I personally checked the power of the bag and its contents and can assure you Hiccup; this gift can be trusted and it will be useful to you in the future." I nodded in understanding as I took the bag before nodding to lord Seth in thanks as he walked back while I put the bag away as lord Anubis stepped forward.
"Hiccup, although you have given me a lot more work, I am grateful to you for destroying both the serpent and the ankh, freeing the souls that they imprisoned and for that I created these for you." He held out two sets of bandages meant for mummification with glowing orange hieroglyphics written on them. "These wraps have been empowered with abilities that I believe shall help you in the future." I nodded and took the bandages from him but before I could react, they each wrapped around an arm, from my elbow to my wrist, going under the gear on my arms. "The power they hold is something you will have to discover for yourself." I smiled.
"That just makes things more fun for me." He smiled and made his way back as lord Ra stepped forward holding a small square box.
"And now it is time for a gift from all of us." He opened the box to reveal a line of four masks. "These five masks have been imbued with the power of five gods who they represent and although they may just look nice, they are also powerful." I nodded and examined each mask and saw a crocodile, a lion, a falcon, a jackal and a mule before they each glowed a golden light, slowly merging and shrink down into a small golden ankh with a glowing red gem in the center that seemed to glow with power. "Each mask contains the power of one of the most powerful warriors of Sobek, Bastet, Horus, Anubis and Seth." (AN: Picture of the masks on my pinterest page.) I gently picked up the ankh as Ra continued. "This ankh contains the masks and in order to unleash their power you must simply take the ankh when the Anubis warriors' bodies are forming and throw it into the sands."
"What will happen then?"
"After that, the strength of your forces shall grow as will the size of your army but how is something you will need to see for yourself." I nodded.
"Thank you to all of you for these gifts." They just nodded before Ra reached behind his back and pulled out a long wrapped up bundle.
"In my hands I hold your star sword and I warn you that as I said before it has gone through some changes." He gently passed me the bundle. "You may unwrap it only when you return to the mortal world which is where the reason shall become clear." I nodded in thanks as he walked back while Anubis walked forward once more with a bundle, wrapped up in brown cloth.
"I have your khopesh here, but I must warn you that I made a few changes to it when I was recreating it." He handed me the bundle to me. "Its new form comes with new abilities, but they will take time to get used to." I smiled and took the bundle.
"Thank you, lord Anubis." He smiled.
"Like your starsword unwrap it only when you have returned to the mortal planes where you shall discover the reason why." I nodded as he walked back to the others before Ra said.
"It was good to see you again Hiccup Haddock but next time, I hope it is simply for a friendly visit instead of repairing the damage done to both your body and armor from a major battle against a dangerous beast." I smiled and nodded.
"Lord Ra, I could not agree with you more lord Ra but knowing my luck, that is not going to happen." Everyone chuckled.
"Until then we wish you luck on all your future adventures."
I smiled but before I could reply there was a blinding light and when it died, I was standing in the desert outside of Alexandria and the next thing I knew I was tackled from the side and covered in familiar slobber. I laughed and opened my eyes to see none other than Toothless before I gently pushed him off as I said.
"I'm happy to see you to bud." It was then Heatwave walked up, crooning and nuzzling me as I smiled and rubbed his head. "I'm glad to see you to big guy." It was then a croon from Toothless caught my attention and I turned to see Toothless nudging my wrapped-up blades making me smile as I shook my head. "Back off bud, those are my blades and I'm not sure what changes they've gone through so be careful." He tilted his head and walked away from the wrapped blades as I walked up to check them out. "Time to see what changes my blades have gone through."
I picked up the wrap that held my starsword to see what had changed and gently removed the wrapping but before I could fully remove the cloth there was a small shockwave from my blade that pushed me back. When I looked up at my sword,I saw it floating in the air and I slowly took it into my hand and could feel it was more powerful than before and the differences were easy to see. To begin with the blade looked like that of a broad sword and the metal it had been made of was navy blue with twinkling white spots that made it look as if it were made of the night sky itself, full of stars. The hilt of the sword was gold and shaped a bit like a star with four points facing outward with a blue gem at the bottom of each and the top point resembling a daggers blade resting on top of the blade with a curved vine like pattern on either side and in the middle of this star was glimmering morning star. The swords handle was wrapped in navy blue leather while the pommel was gold and made a short point so all in all it looked like a completely different sword. (AN: Picture on pinterest page.)
I allowed it to be pulled back into my prosthetic deciding to try it out later since I still needed to check out my Anubis khopesh to see what changes it's gone through. I walked up to the wrapped up khopesh and began unwrapping it but the second a part of the blade was exposed it floated out of my hands as sand began to blow around me. I watched as the wrappings came undone to reveal my khopesh had gone through some major changes in appearance and it was easy to tell that its power had grown to. The blade had become bronze with small gaps in it and the bottom part had a chain connecting to the hilt that wrapped around the bottom part and lead into the curved blade that was thicker than before. The hilt itself was made of four diamond shapes with the two pointing at the blades sharpened ends being black metal while the other two looked to be made of blue crystal. The handle was wrapped up in mummy bandages while the pommel was black and shaped like a jackal's head, but I could tell there was more to it than meets the eye. I took the handle and allowed it to be pulled into my prosthetic since I needed to let Cleopatra and everyone else know the Pharaohs serpent was defeated so I'd try it out along with my other gifts later. I turned to my dragons and said.
"Well boys, we best get going to let everyone know things are taken care of and the city is safe." They each growled and nodded before I remembered something that made me gulp in fear. "And I need to face two beasts that scare me more than the beast." They each looked at me confused. "My wives when they're angry at me for putting my life at risk again." The all let out dragon like laughs as I rolled my eyes and mounted Toothless. "Let's go you useless reptiles." They just growled as we took off.
5 days later
It's been five days since I took down the Pharaohs serpent and that time had been both relaxing and stressful for multiple reasons in each case. Things have been relaxing since I was able to enjoy a few peaceful moments with my family, enjoying some quiet time playing with Chara, teaching Brant and enjoying time with my wives. Sadly, the reasons things were also stressful was because these moments were often interrupted or ended by the locals wanting to know how I defeated the Pharaohs Serpent, what I got from the gods and other things which would ruin the time with my family.
Besides that, I'd been busy with my new god made gifts, learning about them and what they're capable of and none of them were disappointing. To begin with I decided to try out the ruby I was given that got pulled into my prosthetic and I was not disappointed with the abilities the ruby had given my prosthetic. The way it works is I'd hold my palm out before the palm opens before pushing the ruby with the pointed end facing out, revealing it's grown slightly smaller than my fist as the fingers of my prosthetic take hold of each side allowing me to point the ruby. When it's like this I learnt I could shoot out a thin red light from the tip of the ruby and this light was able to coat things and then allow me to lift them as if they were nothing and I didn't even feel the weight. This was an ability I knew would be helpful when it comes to moving heavy things around, whether it be loading, unloading or moving supplies for construction and other things. I knew I could also use this in combat by lifting things and throwing them at my foes or using it to lift the victim themselves and throwing them.
Then there's the bandage bands around my wrists that I had a little difficulty using at first, but I eventually learnt how to use them and knew they'd come in handy. The first thing I learnt was the ends could extend making the bandages go out and I could then make them wrap around things for different things. This was an ability that I knew would be helpful for medical care since I'd be able to wrap up wounds with it after administering medicine to the wounds. This could also be used for attacks since I could send the bandages out to wrap up enemies that couldn't be broken easily, lift them up when I attack from above and of course, using the bandages as gags to shut enemies up.
There's also the bag that Seth gave me that I now knew to be filled with sand but as expected it was not normal sand and it could be used as a weapon. I learnt this when I pulled a handful of the sand out and then much to my surprise, it moved out of my hand on its own and onto the ground. Figuring it was meant to go onto the ground I gently poured more sand out of the bag and onto the ground till I had a good amount piled up. When that was done it began to spin and lift up as if it were in a whirlwind before it blasted out and I found myself looking at a large cobra made of sand with glowing orange eyes, inner mouth and openings within its body that closed and opened. After that I ran some tests and learnt it was an extension of my own will so I could use it for surprise attacks by keeping it in sand form and then jumping up when someone steps on it. I could also use it for simple combat by having it attack enemies, especially when I throw it and it takes form in midair to attack enemies, but the problem is it only lasts a few seconds so I can't use it for big battles.
The masks are another story though which is something I learnt when I summoned my Anubis warriors and tossed the ankh into the sands as they formed. The ankh got pulled into the sand before there was a bright golden glow beneath it and this glow quickly spread throughout all the black sand, including the sand that had begun to make up the bodies of my warriors that fell back into the sand as the sand spread farther. When the sand stopped spreading it began to lift and take forms and as soon as the first one took form, I knew my Anubis warriors had gone through some changes.
To begin with, they were wearing their normal men's skirts, armbands and headgear but now they were wearing black metal shoulder pads that were held onto them by black brown leather straps that formed an x across their chests. They also had leg guards on them with golden trim and Egyptian markings representing jackals and on their faces were the Jackal masks, but they didn't cover their lower jaws. The leader still had his fan axe, but the others now had twin black metal khopesh's in either claw ready to be used on any enemies they saw.
It was then I noticed I had more troops than before and the extra's were not Anubis warriors like the others but different kinds and I realized what the other masks were to give me command over four other types of warriors from Sobek, Horus, Bastet and Seth. There were twenty-five of each of them meaning I now had one-hundred more troops under my command and from what I could tell, each type specialized in something different. This didn't bother me though since the variety would only succeed in making my forces stronger since there's strength in numbers and every role was important to keep my army balanced.
To begin with there are the warriors who were obviously from Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile River, the patron god of the military, and the protector of pharaohs, and it was obvious because of their crocodile heads. These warriors were wearing armor similar to that of the royal coat of arms that the Pharaoh wears with the only difference being that their armor looked like it was made of crocodile's scales with golden tint on it. They were also wearing the normal toga like skirt around their waists and were barefooted with their skin being covered in crocodile like scales. They were also wearing the Pharaohs Crown like helmets that were light blue and gold striped in color and the crocodile mask covered their whole face. They also have muscular bodies which explains why the weapon they each wield was an Egyptian style Mace-Ax and showed the role of these new soldiers was berserkers meaning their strength is in raw power and durability so they'd be perfect for driving the enemy back.
There are also the warriors who were gifted to me by the god Horus who were clearly marksmen due to the fact that they were each armed with golden bows. They were each wearing white chest armor that had a golden falcon on the chest plates and white metal bands on their wrists and ankles. On their feet were steel sandals and on their heads were white cloth like hats like normal Egyptian soldiers with the eagle mask on the top part of their faces while their lower faces revealed a birds lower half with the neck lower part down to the neck being covered in feathers. On their upper arms were golden bands that had golden daggers hidden beneath them and after testing their skills with them, I pity those who went up against them.
Their skills with their bows were nothing to laugh at either since when I asked one to demonstrate his skill, he shot an arrow at a passing fly twenty feet away and pinned it to a tree without killing it. Along with this I learnt that they had unlimited arrows that they could make appear by simply acting as if they were loading a new arrow into their bows and they'd form out of flames before growing solid. Along with this I learnt they could also attack from above when solid metal wings like those on statues form out of their backs allowing them to fly. All in all, they were magnificent archers who would serve well as long range hunters who would also serve as great attackers for long range and for sky battles.
There are the warriors of Bastet who wore the lion masks over the top parts of their faces while wielding swords in their right hands while their left hands were wore the same kind of armor as the crocodiles, but their armor is tan with blue tint and across their chests, creating an x with them being lined with throwing daggers that they used with their left hands. What they specialized in the most though was tracking with their sense of smell and hearing, they could track down a scorpion, miles away in the desert. These guys would be great in the future for when I need to track down stragglers from the defeated armies of enemies and when I'm hunting bandits in various environments, especially the desert.
Finally, there were the warriors given to me by Seth who were made to act as the main defense force of these new warriors with their large shields. They mostly act as a wall with their shields at the front and stubbornness of a donkey or mule, meaning they weren't easily pushed back so they'd do great with my spartan warriors. These Warriors are eight feet tall wear bronze and black armor like that of the Pharaohs war armor with the same kind of crown with their masks covering the upper part of their faces. The weapons they wield are golden spears alongside their large shields which are six feet long and four feet wide allowing them to make a strong wall of shields. These shields are a rectangular shape with a half circle on the top of them as for the with the symbols of the Gods carved into the but in the center are the symbols of Seth.
Sadly, when I first summoned my new army to see what power the masks grant them, I was in the desert with a few of Cleopatra's guards who were sent with me as she wanted a report on the strength of my new army. They were all amazed by what they saw, especially when I ran a single member of each group through some tests to see what they were each capable of. It was easy to tell the men wished they all had even half the skill my warriors had. This led to a few of them requesting the use of my new warriors for training while others were hoping to spar with them and improve their skills. Things got even worse when we got back since as expected word about my new army members, spread to every servant in the palace after an hour and by the end of the day, every noble in the city knew about them.
This led to nobles who were going on trips requesting me and my forces escort them or for me to lend them to them for parties and for their trips into the city. Now these nobles I could deal with but Cleopatra was another story since she wanted me to lend her my forces for a few of her trips into the village since she feared that with the chaos caused by the serpent some would try to assassinate her. I couldn't blame her as there were those who would take advantage of the chaos caused by the Pharaohs Serpent even though things had calmed down a bit.
Anyway, along with the gifts I'd also been busy practicing with my starsword and Anubis khopesh in their new forms along with figuring out their new powers which were very powerful and would be helpful in the future. To begin with my star sword had gone through some major improvements while still maintaining its original powers it had before the transformation. For starters its cutting ability had dramatically improved to the point where I gently press it against something, and it cuts into it as if it's not even there which as an ability I knew I'd need to be careful with. Along with this ability I learnt of another that I call the 'Star shard strike' which is a move that shocked me at first but then made me smile since it would be helpful against strong crowds of enemies. The way it worked is the blade would shatter into multiple small shards that float around me for a few seconds making them look like stars before they turn into full sized sword blades and launch themselves at the enemy. When they strike, they do so with enough force to pierce gronkle iron as if it were nothing and then after three seconds the blades shatter and turn to dust while my swords blade reforms.
Then there's my Anubis Khopesh in its new form and its abilities were just as impressive as the starsword and I wasn't just talking about its powers. To begin with I learnt what the small gaps in the blade, what the chain is for and why the blade had gotten thicker and when I did, I knew I'd need some practice. The reason for this is my khopesh's blade had gone from a normal blade to a chain blade, meaning it could split into eight joints connected by the chain and reconnect into a solid blade but while in its chain form, it could wrap around things and turn them to dust. Along with this ability I learnt the ability to paralyze people by stabbing the blade into their shadows had also gone through an upgrade. The way it goes is I stab it into someone's shadow and from there, the blaid would jump out, connected by the chain and into another shadow with each blade being sticking to one shadow, making a total of eight connected shadows. From there, the shadows could link to other nearby shadows so the paralyzing ability had been able to grow in range and as an added bonus when I pulled the khopesh back out, it would pull all the victims close, slamming them all together, hard enough to knock a man out.
Besides all of this, things had been quiet for me and my family with us only needing to deal with the regular problems of day to day life. So, in other words, enjoying some quiet time together with me enjoying time with my family and dealing with my adoring fans who were eager to learn about my adventures and my latest battle. Along with this I had to go up against a few of the local guards and warriors who wanted to test their skills against the serpent slayer as they'd begun to call me. It wasn't all bad though since when I got home after these sparring sessions, I was able to enjoy a good soak in the tub to relax my muscles and enjoy a little me time.
Along with this Cleopatra had requested that I take Toothless to some of the nearby villages and see if any were attacked by the Pharaohs Serpent or its minions and what the damage was. I am sad to say that there were a few that were attacked by the minions and some that were done in by the serpent leaving the majority of villages in runes with no survivors. The few villages with survivors would need a lot of work before they were inhabitable again while the people needed medical attention to help them recover. Sadly, not all the people I found were still breathing and what was truly heartbreaking for me was how some of those people died right in my arms when I was trying to help them. When I finally got home, I couldn't look at anyone and just flew onto the roof of my house and lay down against Toothless before looking up at the sky while just watching the clouds go by. I was there for over three hours before the girls found me and I was forced to speak to them about what happened to me that lead me to needing some alone time. By the end of my explanation I was quietly crying into the arms of the women I love who gently did their best to comfort me in my time of weakness. I skipped dinner that night and just went straight to bed trying to forget the horrors I saw that day.
Now we were all enjoying a peaceful day at home with Chara swimming in the pool, the dragons sunbathing around, my wives sitting by the pool with their legs in the water while they watched Chara and I was enjoying a sparring session with Brant. We were both wearing nothing but our pants and holding wooden swords to spar with each other though it was mostly Brant attacking while I either dodged or blocked his strikes. It was then he came at me with his sword held high before he brought it down at me in a downward, curved slash but I easily slammed my own sword into it and knocked his sword out of his hand. He breathed heavily as he rubbed his hand before I smiled and gently tapped his right side while saying.
"You left your right side open to an attack with that strike." He nodded. "We'll need to work on that in future training sessions but for now, take a break and catch your breath son." He nodded before walking over to his stuff to get a drink from his water flask while I walked to the pool and sat down by Astrid who asked.
"Don't you think you were training him a little hard?" I shook my head.
"I wanted to take it easier on him but he claims that he wants to become stronger so he can protect Chara but I'm only giving him as much as he can handle." Blanca then said.
"He really is a good big brother with how strong his desire to protect Chara is." Both me and Astrid nodded.
"I just hope he'll have that same determination towards his stepsiblings when the time comes for us to have some little ones that were born from us." I then looked at Brant who had just jumped into the pool, splashing a giggling Chara as he did so. "When that time comes, I hope they understand that although we may not have as much time for them as we originally did, it doesn't mean that we've forgotten about them." The girls giggled before Astrid said.
"Don't worry, they'll be too busy trying to be good older siblings to the little ones and besides, we'll talk to them about it when the time comes." I smiled at her before she got a mischievous smile. "And now I think it's time you woke up with a good soak."
Before I could reply she pushed me right into the water and when I got back up, I spit up some water while glaring up at my laughing wives. I looked at their legs and smiled as an idea came to mind and I quietly swam up to them before grabbing each of them by a leg and then pulling them in. I laughed as they resurfaced, spitting up water before they began splashing me which I was happy to return and soon enough the kids joined us in the water fight. We were five minutes into the water fight when a shadow landed on us and we all looked up to see Asim smiling down at us as he said.
"Nice to see you are all enjoying yourselves." I chuckled.
"Just enjoying a little time with the family Asim." I then pulled myself out of the water to greet him. "So, what brings you here?"
"The queen has requested the presence of both you and your family at a grand banquet in your honor to celebrate the victory over the beast that has caused so much pain to our lands." I sighed and shook my head.
"I told her that a big party wasn't needed." He just smiled and patted my shoulder.
"You know how the queen is Hiccup, always looking for an excuse to celebrate something." I chuckled.
"Too true but we'll still be there even though I prefer a quiet night at home over an evening getting headache after headache from the nobles at a party." He chuckled and nodded.
"As would I my friend." He then turned to the sun. "I'll leave you and your family to prepare then." I nodded.
"I'll see you then my friend." He nodded and made his way out through the gates while I made my way back to my family to let them know what the plan for tonight was.
Nightfall
We were all the party wearing Egyptian formal wear with me incorporating my regular gear by keeping all my gear on top of it and having my grootslang coat in a white vest form. The girls were also wearing white Egyptian silk dresses with Astrid being a strapless dress held up by a golden ankh connected to a golden necklace that wraps around her neck while Blanca's was a strapped dress that had a golden belt shaped like a snake, wrapped around her middle. The kids were also in formal wear with little Chara in a dress like Blanca's with a light blue belt wrapping around her waist and golden bands around her arms while Brant was wearing male robes that had a red sash going across his chest, gold wristbands and a small golden ring going around his head, pushing his hair up a bit.
To describe how this party has been, I could simply use one word and that is a massive headache since women kept trying to cozy up to me and my wives while men were trying to act friendly towards me or flirting with my wives. The kids didn't have it any easier as the nobles heard I was bringing my kids and brought their own children to try and use them to get to me through my kids. When it comes to Brant the boys would try to act like they were Brant's best friends while girls would cozy up to him and with Chara, girls would act like they were her friends with the older ones claiming they wish they had a little sister like her. It was clear as day what they were up to so my kids stuck to me and their mothers to try and get the other kids to keep away which I am happy to say, worked for a short while but not long. Soon some of the kids got brave and tried to get closer to them despite being with us or have their parents come and keep me and the girls busy so they could talk to the kids. It was a pain but we couldn't just leave as it would be insulting to Cleopatra who was kind enough to start this party to celebrate my victory and the safety of Egypt. Knowing this I took a breath and got ready to endure the next round of headaches that came in the form of approaching nobles.
1 hour later
Nobodies POV:
Brant and Chara were not having a good time in the least since although they were able to break away from those who wished to use them as a way to get to their father. The last three minutes had been worse though as they were able to blend into the crowd and avoid everyone for a few minutes until they were spotted by none other than Henite, their fathers' stalker and one of their biggest headaches. The reason for this is she would not leave them alone, trying to act all friendly and motherly whenever she could but her true feelings were clear in her eyes. They knew she didn't like them at all and only saw them as a way to get to their father and on one occasion they overheard her talking to her friends about how she intended to put them to work when her and Hiccup were married and she was able to push Astrid and Blanca out. When they told Hiccup, he promised he'd never allow that to happen to them and would never allow Henite into their family since he could tell she was just after the fame and fortune that comes with being my wife.
This brings them to now with Henite trying her best to appear friendly to them with how adorable she thought they were and how she believed that they'd grow up to be great people like their father. They could easily tell that her smile was fake as was her affection but they couldn't leave her now since she had a hand on Chara's shoulders, holding her in place and there was no way Brant was going to leave his baby sister to suffer alone. What none of them noticed however was a figure wearing a black cloak that covered their face lurking in the shadows who was watching the whole thing with a large frown on their face, seeing how Henite was trying to fool the children into thinking she cared about them when all she cared about was how to use them. The figure turned to the food table and smiled, deciding to give the children a hand in helping them escape the one who sought to use the children for her own gain. The figure picked up a single strawberry from one of the platters and threw it right at the side of Henite's head striking the target easily and the results were as desired.
Henite let go of little Chara and picked up the strawberry and looked around to find out who threw it at her but the figure who threw it, already moved away from the spot they threw it from avoiding Henite's sight. While she was distracted, Brant quickly grabbed Chara and quickly walked away from Henite and back to their parents but as they walked away Chara caught sight of the figure who threw the strawberry. The figure saw Chara looking at them and smiled before raising a finger to their lips, signaling her to keep quiet but all Chara did was smile and waved at the figure as Brant lead her to their parents.
3 hours later
Hiccups POV:
The party finally ended an hour ago and for that I am truly grateful since if I had to deal with it even longer I would have screamed my head off. Sadly, before I left, Cleopatra had me covered in gold again and presented me with a golden statue of a cobra that was coiled up with its head raised and was my size in height. The problem with this is it drew in a lot of eyes and multiple people who looked at me with desire gave me looks with of desire that were even stronger than before. I was quick to thank Cleopatra for her gifts and placed them in my spiderpack, gaining a lot more attention but I quickly told them of my spiderpacks abilities to avoid getting bombarded by questions. I quickly then said my goodbyes to Cleopatra and grabbed my family before getting out of there as fast as we could before we had to deal with the nobles.
When we got home me and the girls tucked the kids into bed after getting them out of their formal wear and into their night clothes before retiring to our own room for the evening. Now I was lying in bed with my wives on either side of me while I lay awake trying to figure out how to deal with the challenges the nobles would bring to me tomorrow since with the latest additions to my riches, they'd be working harder to get to me. I sighed thinking the time to bring our vacation might be coming but for now, I just needed to get some sleep and try to prepare for tomorrows headaches.
The Desert
Nobodies POV:
A lone hooded figure made their way towards the stones that were once the Pharaohs Serpent until they reached a large boulder and placed their right hand on it. The figure shook their head before moving onto another boulder and once again shook their head and continued this process five more time until they came to one of the smaller boulders that was about half their size. The figure smiled and said.
"Finally found a piece of the serpent that has what I desire." He placed his right hand on the stone while using his left hand to pull out a clear crystal orb that was slightly smaller than his head. "Now to get it out of the stone and into the orb." He began gently chanting as his left hand began to glow before a liquid that looked like the night sky, oozed out of the stone and into the orb where it kept on moving around before the figure smiled. "Essence of the Pharaohs Serpent, another step closer to bringing back my master." With that said the figure walked away from the sight and into the darkness of the night.
AN: And with that, another chapter comes to an end and yeah, I know, not very exciting and later than usual but I've been busy and had to deal with load shedding, for those of you who do not know what that is, it is scheduled power outages. Anyway, if you have any thoughts on what should happen next then let me know in a review and I will see if I can work it into the story but until then stay safe and review kindly.
