Chapter 263

Hiccups POV:

It's been a week since I stood on the top of the mountain while thinking about what I should do about something that had been bothering me since my encounter with Arachne and a week since we got back to the island. When I told my parents about what happened to Chara with Arachne, they were ready to rip her legs off, one by one and then impale her body on a stake before setting it on fire. I couldn't blame them though since I wanted to do the same to Arachne at first but I think they took me taking Arachne in pretty well with my parents only dragging me to Gothi and have her not only give me a full head examination while shoving every potion she had down my throat to ensure I was in my right mind. I had to draw the line though when my dad tried to force me to open the Arabian arch so he could take me to the royals and have their mystics look me over since he feared Gothi missed something which got him a hit from the old healer. It didn't stop him from trying though which wasn't surprising since he was the most hard-headed person I've ever met which lead to his attempt to take me by force at which point I flipped him onto his stomach and twisted his arm to get my point through to him. He let it go after that but ordered me to keep an eye on Arachne which I always intended to do since my trust was not something she'd gained yet.

Speaking of Arachne, she'd set herself up a nest in the trees of the forest where she had chosen to live but it wasn't too close to the wolves or the wolf walkers to cause any issues with territory. I had to say the look on the wolf walkers faces when they saw Arachne is something that would make me smile for a good long time since it was funny how shocked they were. Anyway, she'd been supplying us with a ton of her webs that has been weaved into sheets of material that were a hot seller that the clothes makers of Berk were happy to have. To be honest, I wasn't sure who was happier, them or Gobber who now had a pair of skivvies and under shirt vest made from the material, claiming it was glorious.

Besides that, my mind was filled with the same thing that had been worrying which brings us to now, with me in the tea fields gazebo with a cup of tea in my hand and my ninja sitting across from me after listening to what my problem was. I sipped my tea while looking at them before I brought my tea down from my lips and sighed before I looked at them and said.

"So now you all know what my problem is but as you can guess, I don't know if it's time or not." I turned to Wind. "Wind, you're the one who spends the most time with her so please be honest and tell me, do you think it's time?" Wind nodded as if telling me it was time while the others gave me a look that clearly said they understood my feelings, but I was overthinking it making me sigh. "I know, I'm overthinking it, but I worry and while we're on the subject do you think Brant is ready to get some real-world training instead of training on the island?" They each stared at me for a few seconds before giving a simultaneous nod making me smile before I grimaced. "The thing is, what do I tell his mother's?" As soon as that question left my mouth, I found myself sitting alone in the gazebo with my ninja nowhere to be seen making me sigh. "Even the greatest ninja masters know when a threat is too great, you need to disappear." I then looked down at my tea. "Well better finish my tea and then figure out how to explain things." I then silently sat there while sipping my tea.

1 hour later

I was standing outside the forge while looking at Chara who looked up at me while with a look of confusion in her eyes before I said.

"Chara, do you know why I called you here?" She shook her head. "It's because I keep flashing back to when you stood against me to defend Arachne." I could see a fear form in her eyes.

"Am I in trouble?" I smiled and kneeled down before gently patting her head.

"No sweetie, if anything I'm proud that you were willing to stand up against me for a friend." I then looked down. "It just showed me how far you've come from the scared little girl I found in the storage hold of that slave ship and it reminded me you're growing up." I sighed. "It's a hard thing for any parent to accept but you'll understand when you're older with kids of your own." I shook my head. "Anyway, after discussing it with Wind who has confirmed that you've come a long way in your training, and we've decided it's time for your efforts to be rewarded." I then picked her up and took her into the forge and up to the golden dragon armory before putting her down. "Your brother went in there when he reached a milestone in his training and now it's your turn."

"Am I going to get a spear like Brant?" I chuckled.

"I don't know sweetie, it's the weapon that chooses you and although I'm hesitant to let you choose your weapon when you're so young, Wind and the others believes you're ready." With that said I walked into the golden dragon's maw and opened the door to the armory. "Alright Chara, go in and see if any weapons choose you and if they don't, then don't worry since there's always next time once I've made a few new weapons."

She nodded than slowly walked into the armory as I stepped out of the muzzle which closed as soon as I stepped out before I began waiting for Chara to come out. Two minutes past out here but for me it felt like two months for me since I kept worrying about Chara being in there alone and if something went wrong like her tripping and hurting herself, I wouldn't be able to go in and help her. It was then at that moment the mouth of the dragon opened once more followed by the door with Chara walking out with a big smile on her face and a leather sash going across her chest with a strap going over each shoulder. The one coming down from her right shoulder was wider though with three sheaths on either side of where the other strap met it with a kunai in each sheath, when she saw me, she ran up and said.

"Daddy, I got a sash with different kinds of kunai." I smiled and quickly scooped her up while spinning her around and laughing in joy.

"I knew there was something in there that'd choose you as the owner." I carried her out of the forge. "Now let's go see your mothers and Brant so we can tell them what you got from the forge." She cheered at this.

Nightfall

Night had fallen over the island and for that I was grateful since it had been a very eventful day after Chara got her weapon from my forge since she had four types of kunai, all dangerous in their own way. In addition to being incredibly sharp enough to cut through wood like a hot knife through butter, these kunai came in three colors, fire orange, ice blue and purple with the colors being brightest in the middle and darker on the ends. In addition to this they were each black in color before they're pulled out of their sheaths at which blackness would slowly slip away like vines slowly being pulled into the handles, exposing the colors which would then be only slightly covered by the black. When Chara pulled out one she could decide which of the three colors it would be, or it could remain black in which case it would be like a normal kunai. Along with this, the sash provided an endless supply of these kunai since once Chara threw one, another would form in the empty sheath in seconds.

As for the kunai ability wise, each color had different abilities related to what element they each held with orange being fire, blue being ice and purple being poison. The orange kunai's abilities were the ability to ignite in flames, cause fiery explosions, heat up enough to cut through metal and create a fire that would spread like wild when they hit their target. The blue kunai were just as powerful since they could create icy explosions in which ice would spread outwards to form icicles in every direction they went, freeze a large patch of large targets, freeze any opponent solid, leaving them alive but trapped in ice and become so cold, they freeze whatever they touch making the items fragile and easy to shatter. Finally, there are the purple kunai which had two types of poisons with one type being lethal and the other simply knocking the victims out. The abilities of these kunai are when they strike something they could either spray out a purple gas from the back which could either kill or knockout those who breathed it in with the darker gas being the lethal one, they could also spray out a liquid from the front that acts like an acid that can eat through metal, leak the purple acid from the blade to cut through things and leak both types of poison for one powerful cut that could easily take an opponent out of a fight. The thing about these knockout poisons was they lasted six hours so if someone was exposed to it then Chara would have plenty of time to deal with them. Other than that, the only other thing about these kunai is they'd shatter after being used or if someone other than Chara tried to use them but I hoped it would still be a long time before she needed to use them in a real battle instead of training.

Anyway, after she showed her new weapons to everyone Wind took her into the coliseum to train her with her new weapons since there was less of a chance of there being any major issues that could spread and damage the island. He did her training under my supervision though since I wanted to be sure no harm came to her with her new weapons but as I learnt, not even the flames of the orange kunai could harm her. While watching her though I began planning out a test for Brant to do which wouldn't be too dangerous nor beyond his capabilities since the last thing I wanted was for him to get hurt since in addition to not liking seeing him hurt like any father, I knew his mothers would kill me. It was because of this that I decided the best test would be a navigation test through a slightly dangerous environment where he could put his survival skills to the test. During this test I would be watching him through the eyes of a jewelwig I'd secretly place on him when I dropped him off to ensure he'd be alright.

Now I was wearing pants and my alpaca fur robe, sitting in the library, in my favorite chair in front of the dying fire while using my prosthetic to manipulate the flames into various shapes while I kept thinking about the test I'd be giving Brant. I still needed to decide on the island he'd be going to and what items I'd allow him to bring besides his spear and a few rations of food and water. It was then I heard the familiar voice that reminded me of the flowers growing in my garden which made sense since this voice belonged to none other than Hadasa who said.

"We were wondering what you were up to at this time of night but you're just playing with the dying fire in the library."

"Just doing some thinking."

"Let me guess, it's about Brant isn't it?"

"What can I say, I'm trying to kick up his training a bit since he's come a long way since it first began."

"Yeah, Astrid told me why he was so desperate to become stronger."

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of how determined he was to protect his sister after what happened to them." I felt her hands wrap around me from behind and gently react beneath my robe stroke my chest making me hum in pleasure.

"How long's it been since they came into your life?"

"I think a little over a year now." I sighed. "Time flies by and the next thing you know, Brant will be off adventuring and I'll be walking Chara down the aisle to give her over to the man who will be her husband." Hadasa giggled at this making me raise an eyebrow.

"Hiccup, she's still a little girl who's attending school while Brant hasn't even had a girlfriend before so please stop overthinking it and just enjoy them while they're still kids." I sighed and nodded.

"You're right but with Brant's survival test coming up, I can't help but think of their future." She sighed.

"I know that feeling but we just need to learn to live with it, now you can deal with the problems tomorrow so come to bed and get some rest for tomorrow." I nodded and stood up before allowing Hadasa to lead me out while having the flame I was controlling go back into the fire.

5 days later

Five days have passed since my chat with Hadasa and since then not much has happened other than me going over the plans for Brants test such as location, goals, rewards for passing and punishment for failure. I had come to the decision of having his test done on Dragon Island with the test being him being dropped off on one end in the evening and needing to get to the other side by morning. He'd have a bag filled with ten strips of dried meat, two loafs of bread and two apples along with a waterskin in case he needed food, a few medical supplies if something happened and some items of his choice such as a journal and spy glass. He'd also be taking his spear with him in case he ran into trouble and needed to defend himself and accompanying him would be Twilight who'd grown to half Toothless' size, but she still wasn't big enough to be ridden yet. Despite this it was easy to tell she was worried about Brant and wanted to stay close to him on this trip since it was clear that over time, they'd been forming a bond that was like the one me and Toothless had but not as strong, yet at least.

Anyway, as for his punishment for failure, he'd have to clean out all of Berks dragon stables of all dragon poop and deliver it to the farms as fertilizer for a month but if he succeeded, he'd be bumped up to the next level of his training and also be given training under the Ancient One at his own temple and another training session in a scroll, studying under Master Shen both who I'd spoken to and both had agreed to my requests. I knew that a month wasn't long for training under either master but I know these two masters would be able to at least help Brant unlock a little more of his own potential and hopefully help me decide a better form of next level training for him.

This brings us to now, with it being early evening me standing on the beach on the East end of dragon Island, the opposite side to the one which had the volcano that the red death once called home. This volcano is also where both me and Toothless would be waiting for Brant to arrive with a hot breakfast waiting for him after his nightly excursion through the forest. I looked down at my son and placed a hand on his shoulder as I said.

"Alright Brant, you know the rules, what types of dragons to expect out there and where to go?" He nodded.

"Don't worry dad, I remember all we've gone over and have the map in case something happens that makes me get lost." I could see he was feeling that I was being a little overprotective, so I explained.

"The dragons on this island aren't like the ones we have in the nests back on our island Brant, they are wild and as such very protective of their territory so they'll do anything to get rid of intruders and in their eyes, you will be an intruder." He nodded. "Your and kung fu training to build up your speed, reflexes and senses will be your greatest tools on this test Brant, never forget that." He nodded once more before I pulled him into a tight hug. "Be careful out there in the forest son."

He nodded as I felt his arms return the hug before I slowly let go hesitantly and gave him one last look before turning to Toothless who was giving Twilight one last nuzzles. I smiled at the cute father daughter moment before I walked up and mounted him and with that, we took off into the night sky while praying for our young ones to be safe during this trip on their own.

Brant's POV:

I watched as my stepfather took off on his nightfury before turning to the dense forest in front of me and couldn't help but think back on my life and how much it had changed from the life I thought I'd live when I was a kid. I used to believe that I'd live a pretty average life, learn to follow in my father's footsteps and take over his business as a blacksmith, meet a girl to settle down with, marry and have a family and just live a quiet and simple life. Now all that had pretty much been destroyed when me and my sister along with the rest of our tribe were tricked and captured to be sold off as slaves by crooks who we thought we could trust. They were also the men who killed my parents when they tried to help me and Chara escape and for that I will never stop hating them for what they'd taken from me and my sister.

Still though, it's because of them my life had taken an incredible turn that there was no way either I nor anyone else would be able to predict but as mama Blanca told me once 'you never know where life will lead you but that is what makes it interesting'. Can't deny it was true, my life had been nothing but interesting since Hiccup and his wives took me and Chara in with all the craziness that goes on with his life. Still though, for all the craziness that goes on in this new life I wouldn't change a single thing about it since now I was training to be a warrior that'd be able to protect my family, my blacksmithing skills had improved a ton, I would eventually be able to train and ride my own dragon which is something I originally thought impossible, get to see tons of new places around the world, have new parents who love me as if I were their own and above all, Chara was happy and learning how to protect herself. I knew we both had a long way to go before we'd truly be on the same level of fighting skill as our adoptive parents but we'd make it there eventually.

It was then I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt a nudge at my side and turned to see Twilight looking up at me with a look of concern in her eyes. I smiled at Twilight since she was without a doubt my favorite dragon in all of Midgard since I couldn't help but relate to her since we'd both lost our parents and were being cared for by someone who cast a big shadow. I took a breath and gently rubbed her head, giving her a gentle scratch in a spot I know she loved making her croon in pleasure as I said.

"Don't worry girl, I'm just doing some thinking before we head out on our little expedition." I then turned back to the forest. "Well we better get going or I'll be shoveling dragon poo for a month." She gave a dragon laugh before we took off into the forest.

3 hours later

It's been three hours since we began our journey into the forest and since then there really hasn't been that much trouble other than the occasional wild dragon. It wasn't that hard to deal with them though, the gronkles just needed some rocks tossed by them to take their attention away from whatever it was they were doing so we could get past, the monstrous nightmares just needed to have their horns bent to the ground to calm them down enough to let us pass, the hideous zipplebacks just needed a long strip of dried meat tossed between their heads and they'd be too busy fighting over it to notice us, the nadders just needed a scratch beneath their chins to knock them out for a while after dodging their spines and the terrors just needed a piece of dried meat and they'd leave us alone. Besides that, things had been pretty good since it wasn't that different to my ninja training in the forest in which I had to jump from tree to tree or run through the woods at night without anyone touching a single tree.

Now I was running through the forest with Twilight at my side and my spear currently in my right hand in its long staff form as a river came into view. When I'd just reached the river, I slammed the end of my staff into the ground and used it to pole-vault over the river and landed on the other side while Twilight flew off before we continued to run as I collapsed my staff and put it back in its holder on my back. I had one target in mind as I ran and that was the top of a cliff that was up ahead of us since from there I'd be able to figure out how far we are from the other side of the island where our adoptive fathers were waiting for us. I smiled at Twilight who gave a nod and growl before we turned out attention back to the peak and continued to run up until we reached the peak overlooking the rest of the island. I took a breath and looked around to try and figure out which part of the island we'd made it to but before I could pull out the map to find where we were on the island I noticed a campfire in a clearing within the trees a little bit away from the cliff.

I knew dad wouldn't have set up a camp for me to rest at since he made it clear that this test was something, I needed to do on my own, so it was someone else. I pulled out my spyglass and got a closer look at what was going on down there and I did not like what I was seeing one single bit and knew my dad wasn't going to like it either. There was a small group of men down there, all armed and sitting around a small campfire but the thing I knew would anger my dad was how they had seven cages with dragons locked up in them. There were nadders, gronkles, zipplebacks, nightmares and one cage even had seven terrible terrors shoved into it but the thing that caught my attention the most was the helmets the men were wearing.

I recognized them as the same helmet types that my dad had in his trophy room, telling me and Chara that they were worn by a group called 'the dragon hunters' who as the name implies hunted and sold dragons alive or dead for a fortune. Their business was ended though in a major battle with my dad leading the charge against them, capturing many of them but a few were able to escape. It was clear that these guys were some of the men who escaped, and they were trying to pick up where they left off, capturing dragons to sell. I growled knowing my father wasn't going to like this one bit and I'd need to let him know so I began making my way down, figuring it best to scout out the camp first.

Half-an-hour later

I'd been able to do a full checkup off the camp and I did not like what I was seeing since the dragons were clearly in bad shape with multiple cuts on their bodies. To make things worse these cages were made of green metal which I'd been told was dragon proof so there was no chance of these dragons escaping. What made my blood boil though was how the men were treating them since if they made so much as a growl, they'd bang their weapons against the bars while yelling at the dragons to shut up or they'd kill them. It was because of this I'd written a letter to my father telling him what I'd found and tied it to Twilight's leg before having her fly off to deliver it to him while I stayed behind to make sure the hunters didn't try anything. It was clear she wanted to stay and help me but I felt it better she deliver the letter since if we were caught, they'd most likely kill her or send her off immediately and I was not going to put her at risk like that. Thankfully it was only a crescent moon tonight so there wasn't that much light in the sky, meaning she wouldn't be that easily spotted by any other hunters around the island and would get to my father who I was hoping would make it back before the hunters did something.

Now five minutes had passed, since I sent her off and I was standing on a tree branch while looking at the camp and leaning against the trees trunk while waiting for my dad. It was then one of the men stood up and clanked his dragon proof axe against the bars while insulting the nadder within it and it made me growl. He then begun walking into the woods while muttering something about needing to use a tree making me smile since it meant he wouldn't be bothering the dragons anymore. He then turned back to the men as he ordered to begin getting the dragons ready to be moved since they'd be shipping them down to the beaches when he gets back. I knew this meant I'd need to stall them and as luck would have it, the man giving the orders had just made his way over to a tree that was only ten feet away from the one I was standing in giving me an opportunity.

I silently leapt from branch to branch until I was in the tree he'd stopped at just as he'd finished using it as an out house and was in the process of pulling his pants up. That's when I made my move and jumped down from the tree with my spear in hand in its collapsed form with the blade still out but currently blunted since I didn't want to kill the guy incase he had information on their operations my dad would want. He turned around to face me as I smirked and spun my spear around in one hand to build up speed but just as he opened his mouth to what I assume was to call for help, I swung the blade into the side of his neck, knocking him out cold. I smiled as his body hit the ground before giving it a scratch with my blade, paralyzing him for an hour, just to make sure he didn't go anywhere while I dealt with his comrades until dad got here.

I pulled up his body and laid it up against the tree before I heard the sound of someone approaching and quickly hid behind one of the trees. I saw it was another one of the men who was most likely looking for his superior to let him know about something but when his eyes landed on his downed friend, that was when I struck. I slammed my spears bottom into the back of the guys neck, knocking him out while leaving his body to fall to the ground as I gave his arm a gentle cut. I carried him over to his friend and sat him up against the tree alongside his friend before going back to the camp to see how many more men there were to deal with. I snuck over to the bushes by the camp and peaked out from behind them to see the camp and saw there were still eight more men left.

It was then two men were walking by the bushes I was in and when I saw one was walking behind the other, I knew that this was an opportunity to narrow their numbers down by two more men. When they passed by, I pulled the blade back into the pole and held out my spear between the lead guys legs, tripping him over with his friend who was close behind him fell onto his friend as I pulled my spear back. I quickly released the blade and cut their arms as they began to get up making them collapse again which was what caught the attention of one of their friends. He quickly rushed over to see what was wrong with his friends but the second he leaned down to shake them but the second his body was lowered I slammed my spear down on the back of his head, knocking him out cold. Although this took out another one of the remaining men, it tipped off the remaining five men that I was here and as expected, they all grabbed their weapons and pointed them at the bush before one ordered.

"Come out, we know you're there." Pulling the blade back into the pole and slowly walked out for the men to see me and had to hold back a chuckle at the looks on their faces. "You're the one who took my men down?" I nodded as the man walked up to me. "But you're just a kid with a stick." I smirked at him.

"Appearances can be deceiving." I quickly extended the pole right into his throat before pulling it back as the man grabbed his throat while falling to his knees and gasping for air. "And appearances can be deceiving." I then swung my spears pole, slamming it into the side of his head, knocking him out before I turned to the remaining four men. "Want to see if you guys stand a better chance then your friends?"

They all stared at me in shock before one holding an axe growled and charged at me but when he swung it down at me, I stepped to the side avoiding the strike. I quickly slammed the end of my spear into her gut, making him let go of his axe before I used it to lift him up and then threw him down into the ground, headfirst. This was all the remaining three men needed to snap out of their shock and charge at me with, sword, axe and mace in hand making me think back on my training and remembered how I had been taught to use my environment to my advantage. I looked behind me and as luck would have the cage holding the zippleback and backed up into it, giving the men the idea that they'd cornered me. I quickly collapsed my spear and stabbed the blade into the ground while holding the other end tightly and when the men were six feet away, I extended it which pulled me up above them as I pole-vaulted over the men who looked in shock as I collapsed my spear.

Unfortunately for the men they'd been so distracted that they didn't realize how close they were to the cage and ran right into it as I fully extended my spear and charged right at them before jumping and slamming the entire pole into their faces. This slammed the back of their heads right into the cage bars, right before their bodies fell to the ground unconscious while I backed up, smiling at the sight of my handy work. I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of clapping coming from behind me and turned to see my dad walking out of the bushes with Toothless on his right and Twilight on his left as he said.

"Brant, that was impressive."

"You were watching?" He nodded.

"Yes, I wanted to see how you'd deal with them and you in no way disappointed me son."

"You got my letter?"

"I did but I knew about these guys before you sent it." Before I could ask how though, he walked up and held out his hand before what I recognized as one of his jewelwigs crawl out of my satchel.

"You were watching me?"

"Your mothers wouldn't let me take you on this test without a way to keep an eye on you." I nodded knowing how protective my adoptive mothers were. "Anyway, the test is still happening so you better hurry and continue while I clean up things here." My eyes widened at this.

"Can't we call winning this fight a pass." He smiled at me.

"Not if you want the training sessions under the masters." Hearing this I quickly took off with Twilight right on my heels.

Hiccups POV:

I smiled as I watched my boy take off knowing it was little mean to have him still continue this test after what he'd just done but I wanted to see how determined he was to complete the challenge and train under two of my former masters. I sighed and turned to the men before I extended my shadow and pulled them all into it while Toothless calmed the dragons within the cages. Once the men were imprisoned, I gathered up their belongings before releasing the dragons and checking them all over and after a full examination, I couldn't let them go back into the wild since they were in bad shape. With this in mind I pulled them into my shadow so I could bring them back with me to the nests where I could tend to their wounds and make sure they were alright. Once that was done, I turned to Toothless and said.

"Alright bud, you go back to the campsite where we're meant to meet Brant and Twilight while I check out the island for anymore hunters." He crooned in concern making me smile. "Don't worry bud, this won't take that long." I switched my prosthetic to my plant prosthetic and walked up to a tree. "Time to see what's going on in these woods." I placed my prosthetic against the tree and allowed myself to be pulled into it.

1 hour later

It's been an hour since I cleaned up the hunters Brant had taken down and in that time I'd captured another fifteen of them who were out hunting in the forest, used my ship to capture their own ship, transported the dragons and hunters I had in my shadow onto my ship and returned to the campsite where me and Toothless were originally waiting for our adoptive children. I looked out at the ocean and saw that there was only half an hour left till sunrise which was the deadline for Brants test and although I was worried, I had faith in my son and just lay back against Toothless. It wasn't five minutes later that I heard the sound of someone approaching and sat up just in time to see Brant running through the bushes with Twilight right behind him. I smiled at him as he came to kneel down in front of me and asked.

"Did I make it?" I smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You made it!" He gave me a smile before collapsing on the ground while panting.

"I never want to do that again."

"Don't worry son, you passed the test with flying colors and now it's time for us to go home so you can get some rest and so your mothers don't worry even more than they usually do." He smiled up at me before I picked him up and lead him over to a portal door I made in the mountain side so we could go home.

3 days later

It's been three days since Brants test and in that time not much has happened besides me dropping off the hunters on Outcast island for interrogation, tending to the wounded dragons, melting the hunters gear down to use for something else later and Brant preparing for his trip. Now I was in the middle of my garden with Brant after allowing him to say goodbye to his mothers, Arachne and the wolf walkers. When he said goodbye to Chara she hugged him so tightly with tears pouring down her face that I thought she'd never let go. I found it rather sweet how much she loved her big brother but it was then when she pulled away and went back to her mother's did something surprising happen. Robyne walked up to him and much to the surprise of everyone in the room, kissed him on the cheek making him blush and stare at her as she quickly backed up with her own blush and shy smile. I decided to save him the embarrassment and dragged him out into the garden where we were to meet Asami who would take him to meet the Ancient One and it was at that moment she appeared as she said.

"Hello Hiccup, it's been a long time." I smiled at the kitsune.

"It is good to see you again Asami." She smiled before turning to Brant.

"I take it this is your son?" I nodded before she bowed her head to him. "Nice to meet you." Brant replied.

"Nice to meet you to."

"Now you both better say your goodbyes for now as the Ancient One is waiting." We nodded before turning to each other as I kneeled and placed my hands on his shoulders.

"Brant, training under the Ancient One is not going to be in anyway easy but I know you can do it if you just remember why you want to become stronger."

"To protect those who I love." I smiled at him.

"That's my boy." I then pulled him into one last hug.

"I'll make you proud dad." I let him go and allowed Asami to fade away with him as I whispered.

"You already have son." With that said I made my way inside.

The Ancient Ones temple

Nobodies POV:

Brant found himself standing outside a large temple with the Ancient One standing outside the doors with a smile on his face as he gestured to Brant to enter the temple which Brant was happy to do. Ten minutes later Brant was sat down at a table across from the Ancient One who poured him some tea and passed him the cup as he said.

"Now Brant, tell me why you wish to get stronger?"

"I lost my parents because I was too weak to help them go up against the slavers who kidnapped us and-" He was cut off when the Ancient One hit him with a stick and said.

"You are just like your step-father, using far too many words."

"I want to become stronger to protect those I love." The Ancient One nodded.

"Much better." He sipped his tea. "Now we shall begin your training in the morning so for now drink your tea and I will tell you what you can expect in the coming year of training." Brant's eyes widened.

"Coming year of training?" The Ancient One nodded.

"Indeed, however what shall be a year to you will be a day to your family like when your step-father came to study under me." This served little comfort for Brant though but he remembered why he was here. "Now then, here's what you can expect for training." The Ancient One then began explaining what Brant could expect and from what he was told, it was going to be one tough year for him.

AN: And another chapter is done with this one ending with Brant being taken in by the Ancient One for a year of training and when this is done, he'll be training under master Shen taking both his ninja and kung fu training to the next level. Along with this, Chara now has her own weapons from the Golden dragon armory, images of which can be found on my pinterest page. Anyway, till next time, review kindly and have a nice day.
