For quite some time I wanted to write a crossover story on 'Naruto' and 'Demon Slayer', two of my favourite anime series. "Shinobi Who Slays" is a reflection of my long-time wish

Note: I don't own 'Naruto' or 'Demon Slayer'. They solely belong to their respective creators. I do, however, own the plot and OCs.

Remarks: I made the cover but the materials are not mine.

Synopsis: Naruto Uzumaki the the Seventh Hokage, Child Of Prophecy, Hero of the Fourth Great Ninja World War died and thought that he would meet his father, mother and beloved teacher in the pure world. He did find a mother along with a lot of siblings. He also managed to get himself a teacher. However, he was not Naruto Uzumaki anymore. He was Kamado Tanjiro, a thirteen year old boy living with his family on the top of a mountain. At first, he thought life would be good as he had a family again. However he was proved wrong within a few hours.

When the demons threatened his family's existence, the greatest shinobi decided to let the world know how much stronger one can get when they have someone precious to protect…

With most of his skills and powers intact, he will protect the innocent no matter what. That is his nindo. His ninja way.

Chapter One: I Am WHO?!

Naruto found himself in many unbelievable and weird situations. One could make a few categories of these situations. Waking up in front of something unnatural is one of those categories. Sometimes waking up in a sewer, something in the stomach of an ancient beast, sometimes in front of dead people. Sometimes legendary and mythical men wake him up… But none comes close to this..

As he succumbed to unconsciousness during his climactic battle, his final thoughts were of reuniting with his parents and Jiraiya in the Pure World. Waking up in a humble hut was far from his expectations.

"Tanjiro," a voice called out, but it wasn't his name they were calling. "Tanjiro?" The voice repeated, sounding puzzled. "Look at me."

"Who are you speaking to?" Naruto asked, confused.

"You, of course. Who else would be named Tanjiro?" The voice responded.

"That's not my name!" Naruto protested. "I am Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage, dattebayo!"

The woman before him looked concerned. "What is a 'H-O-K-A-G-E', dear?" She reached out to touch his forehead, frowning. "You don't seem ill. Perhaps you're still drowsy?"

Naruto, feeling disoriented, asked the woman, "Could you tell me who you are?"

"I am your mother, of course!" She exclaimed, almost shouting.

"Mom!" Naruto stood up abruptly. Had he died? Was this heaven? His final battle… without Kurama to heal him, it made sense. "I'm so glad, Mom, dattebayo! I missed you so much! Where's Dad and Pervy Sage? Is Neji here too?"

The woman hugged him tightly, her expression filled with sadness. "Oh, my sweetheart, you miss your father, don't you? Don't worry, I'm sure he's watching over us, happy and content."

But something was off. His mother was a fiery redhead, a tall woman with a short temper. Not this petite, dark-haired woman with soft violet eyes. He pushed her away. "Who are you? I'm not dead, am I? Where's Sasuke? Konohamaru? Shikamaru? Where are you guys?!"

"Why are you yelling like that?" The woman shouted back. "What's wrong, my son?"

"I am your son…!" Naruto whispered, disbelief creeping into his voice. And why did his voice sound so strange? Wait… this wasn't even his voice!

Was this a genjutsu!?

"Kai!" He shouted, clasping his hands together. The woman jumped in surprise.

"Kai!" He shouted again, louder this time.

The woman couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed his shoulders and began shaking him. "Come back to your senses!"

Naruto was taken aback. His eyes widened, and he began to scream. "LET ME GO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO!"

"Tanjiro!" The woman slapped him, stunning him into silence. "Calm. Down."

"Okay, then talk," Naruto finally said, his voice neutral. "Who are you?"

"Kie Kamado," she replied, taken aback by his question but recovering quickly. "I am your mother."

"How can you be my mother? You barely look above thirty?"

"Well…" She choked on her own spit. "You were born when I was seventeen."

"So I guess I am this 'Tanjiro Kamado'?"

"Of course," she nodded sadly.

"What is this place?" He looked around.

"Mount Kumotori," Kie replied. "Our home."

"I've never heard of it," Naruto said, looking at the children in the corner of the room. "So… how old am I?"

"Umm… almost thirteen."

"Who are they?" He pointed at a group of children who were staring at him with wide eyes and stunned expressions. "Your kids?"

"Your siblings."

"The pink-eyed girl over there with the baby too?"

"Of course."

"That's a lot of children for a young woman like you," Naruto said, deadpan.

"Umm… thank you?" Kie replied, looking a bit flustered.

"You," Naruto pointed at the girl with the pink eyes wearing a pink kimono. "Bring me a mirror. Please."

The girl looked at him in awe, then shared an uncomfortable pause with her mother.

"What?" Naruto's voice echoed with a tinge of irritation. The room fell silent as Kie and her daughter exchanged a glance, a silent conversation passing between them.

"Etto…" Kie began, her voice barely above a whisper. "We don't have a mirror."

"Huh?" Naruto's hand instinctively reached for his chin, his fingers tracing the contours of his face. "Who doesn't have a mirror these days?"

"We can't afford one." The words slipped out from the girl, her eyes fixated on the pink patterns of her kimono.

"Seriously? It's that expensive!" Naruto's disbelief was palpable. The room was once again filled with an uncomfortable silence as Kie and her daughter shared another glance. 'Is this a THING?' Naruto thought, letting out a sigh. He crossed his fingers together and a puff of smoke materialized beside him. The room erupted with squeals of surprise.

"T-two onii-chan!?" The youngest girl in the corner stammered, her voice trembling.

Naruto rose to his feet, his gaze fixed on the clone. Average height. More adorable than handsome. A head full of peculiar reddish-black hair. Scarlet-black eyes. A strange mark on the forehead - a birthmark or perhaps a remnant of an accident. Odd earrings. A black chequered green haori. Judging from these people's facial and body structure, they didn't seem to be from the Elemental Nations. So either they were from some other continent or it was a completely different world— the former was possible and the latter didn't seem impossible. Naruto had more than enough experience to believe that this could very much be real.

"What is happening here?" Kie finally found her voice, her words echoing through the room.

"Hmm. Weird. So… I died." Naruto stated simply, his voice devoid of any emotion.

"What?" The pink-eyed girl's voice was barely audible.

"Say," Naruto began, his gaze sweeping over the room. "If I were to say that I am a 40-year-old village leader and one of the most powerful men in history, also I have a wife and children, one of whom is 17 and the other one is 13, would you believe me?"

They stared at him blankly before retorting in unison, "OF COURSE NOT! YOU ARE TANJIRO KAMADO! AND WHAT KIND OF RIDICULOUS STORY IS THAT?"

Naruto let out a deep sigh. It seemed pointless to convince them of something so unbelievable. He didn't know how, but he knew he couldn't return. The thought of never seeing Hinata, Boruto, and Hima again filled him with sadness. They were his family… but now, not anymore. Now he had these people… 'Guess I should settle down here,' he thought. 'A big family wouldn't be so bad after all. Plus they all seemed pretty nice. But I still need this boy's memories. Maybe I should meditate and see if I can find the REAL Tanjiro's memories.'

Naruto settled into a lotus position and closed his eyes. He instantly entered his mindscape. Years of meditation had granted him such mastery over it that he could instantly enter and exit his mindscape. But something startled him.

Instead of his regular sewer-like mindscape, he found himself standing in a… 'How do you describe this?'

The place was bathed in a soothing light, its source unknown. Tiny shiny particles floated in the air. There was no ceiling, instead a beautiful semi-cloudy sky. 'Shikamaru would kill to come here.' The place was warm, not irritating, but comforting. This was proof of how enlightened the boy's mind was. He must be one of those called 'pure-hearted'.

"Who are you?" A voice asked from not too far.

"I am Naruto Uzumaki," he replied as a boy came into his view. "Are you Tanjiro Kamado?"

"Yes," the boy nodded.

"We have a lot to talk about."
