Richie joined them.
"Potsie, that's quite a crowd you have out there," Richie said.
"I didn't know you were at the show tonight," Potsie told Richie.
"I was. I thought I would have something for my column," Richie said.
He didn't pay much attention to notice Potsie's family was there also.
The two of them found their way to Potsie's dressing room. They chatted in there, since it was quieter. Richie asked his best friend if he wouldn't mind interviewing the other singer that performed that night as well for the column.
"He's getting ready for a show in Vegas, so he must be heading for the plane soon," Potsie said.
"Aren't you two doing a tour together for a record?" Richie asked.
"Not now. I was asked to perform a show at the Grand Old Opry. It couldn't wait any longer. We just recorded together, then I need to head to the Opry," Potsie said.
"How exciting, Potsie. I'm happy for you to get this far," Richie told him.
"Thanks, Richie. I'm also happy for you on how far you've gotten with that column of yours," Potsie replied.
"Thanks. Mom and Dad said the same thing. I wish you luck."
"Thanks, Rich. I'd better get going. Hope to talk with you again soon, Potsie told his best friend as Richie left the dressing room.
Now Richie was gone, Potsie thought about canceling out on the Opry. Recording a new record was good enough for now. He's performed for several years now, and starting at Arnold's probably helped him get this far. Now over millions of people know who he is now.
Richie had always enjoyed writing as much as he could remember.
Since they've stayed friends and in contact, both of them had the chance to catch up on the latest.
Potsie sighed, and decided to find the nearest phone to call and cancel the show he was supposed to perform had someone else to take over instead. Not anyone in the band could do it on their own. If they did, there's no telling what they would do.
Potsie decided this was the best thing to do. Performing his music could use a break.
He needed to get some vacation time. Maybe that would help.
What is Richie doing on connecting with a well - known author? Would Richie want to try writing books instead of the newspaper?
"Maybe I can go to Ohio and surprise Richie. I'd like to see who this author is for myself," he told himself.
Making connections like that is weird sometimes, which he already knew.
Surprising Richie was a good idea.
Now all Potsie could do was set up a time to get airplane tickets.
And that's exactly what he did.
