Richie made it safely to the airport in Ohio. He was going to be talking with a murder mystery author named Bill Thompson. Richie's read a few of Bill's books and was surprised at the stories that he wrote. Bill is pretty well - known.

Richie saw there wasn't any reason to keep in contact with Bill after today, and could tell right away Bill probably thought of the same thing. Richie knew what Bill looked like because of the picture on the back of the books.

Bill immediately waved to him as Richie returned it and headed in Bill's direction.

"You must be Bill Thompson."

"Yes, I am. Give me your name again."

"Richie Cunningham. I'm from Milwaukee."

"That's a long one," Bill replied as they headed to the luggage claim to pick up Richie's suitcase.

Richie didn't ask Bill to help him carry the suitcase for him.

"Are you working on any books right now?" Richie asked.

"No, because we just published my newest book a few months ago. I'm taking a break for a while."

"That's a good idea you have there, Bill."

"What do you like to do?" Bill asked.

"I write a column in the local newspaper," Richie answered.

Bill took a look at Richie. There was no way Richie ever wrote anything for a school newspaper, but he could be wrong, which he was.

"How long have you been writing, Bill?" Richie asked.

"My whole entire life," Bill answered.

"What gave you that idea?"

"I don't know. I just sat down one day and wrote. I've been doing that ever since."

"Writing can be fun and hard sometimes."

"Yes, it sure is," Bill agreed.

"How long have you been writing, Richie?"

"Ever since I was in high school, and that was years ago."

"Same with my crazy ideas and characters."

"Bill, when I was flying over here, I thought of something to ask you."

"What's the question?" Bill asked.

"Would you like the idea of me sending the article when it's published?"

"That'll be cool. Why are you here?"

"I thought you would be interested in doing an interview," Richie answered.

"I can make it short," Bill said as they walked outside in the parking lot.

"That's fine. I'm here for a couple of days. This is why I showed up because of this interview."

"I'm fine with that. What do you want to know about me?" Bill asked.

"About writing."

"Have you looked at any of my books that gave you the idea to come all the way out here to chat with me?"

"Yes, I have. You have quite an imagination and a good writer. This isn't the first time you've heard this."

"No, I've heard it several times. I don't think I'm interested to stay in touch with you in the future, but you can still send the article and I'll share with my friends."

"I don't plan to stay in touch either, Bill."

"Who was your favorite character?"

"Good question. If I had to pick, it would have to be Lynda and her son."

"I enjoyed both myself. No way am I going to stop writing those characters anytime soon, Richie."

"Which hotel would you like me to drop you off?"

Richie gave Bill the information.

"I know where that is."

"Good for you."

"I've been here a while enough to know my way around. Is this your first time to Ohio?"

"Of course it is. I have a wife and two children myself. Is your wife still around?"

"No, she's at home. She didn't have time to put in two weeks' notice."

"I understand. Let's get together tomorrow. How does that sound to you?" Richie asked.

"I'm up for that. What time?"

Richie told him.

"That works for me also. I'll see you in the morning."

"See you then, Bill."
