Well? What do you think? A bit of an odd combination I know but I just couldn't get over the intrigue. For those who are new to my style of writing, I tend to focus more on the humanistic aspects that are not really shown in most Shonen anime. I insert a new character as a "what if.." kind of thing. It's very obvious DBZ does NOT delve in human relationships while Bleach tends to sort of delve into them. I also enjoy trying to find connections…Connections are extremely important to me, especially in crossovers. I don't like changing things to the extreme where two series are force to fit, it doesn't feel natural to me. In this case, I only changed a bit of the Seireitei structure so it works. I also made it so that the shinigami are very mysterious, even for the kamis. I thought that fit well with Bleach in itself.

This story is going to start out slow, so be prepared. Also, it begins before the God of Destruction Tournament (DBZ Super) and several, several (about 20-40x several) years after the ending of Bleach.

As for how Ichigo and Rukia and all fit in…Well…You'll find out (grins).

Chapter 2: Meetings and Greetings

The next day brought a bewildered Kira to the Capsule Corporations building for a day of thousands of introductions, at least that is what it seemed like to her.

"I think I remember you grandfather." Bulma Briefs herself even spoke to Kira, something the girl never thought possible. "He was a farmer right? Out in the western country?"

"Y…Yeah…" Kira stuttered a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

"Hmmm…I think we were there looking for…things…" Bulma sighed, remembering what Chi-chi had told her. Absolutely NO mention of anything involving dragons and whatnot. Chi-chi was determined to make Kira blissfully unaware of her new family's…interests, at least for the time being. Bulma couldn't blame the woman for wanting to have at least ONE normal kid at home. However…this wasn't going to last long…Not with this group anyway. Bulma was just glad Beerus and Whis weren't currently present. Though who knew when those two would suddenly pop in.

"And your grandfather got caught in something bad then Goku helped him." Bulma continued her story. "Does the Red Ribbon Army sound familiar?"

"No…" Kira sighed. "Grandpa didn't mention much of his past…" She looked away. "He…Didn't mention much of anything…"

"I see…" Bulma smiled. "Well…Welcome to our wacky family. Goku's a big lug with a heart of gold. He'll be a good guardian for you, trust me."

"Can he get me out of going to school?" Kira asked and Bulma chuckled.

"I doubt that…Mom is very stickler about education." Gohan approached. "Hi…We haven't formally met…I'm Gohan."

"Kira…You're Goten's big brother." She said and Gohan nodded.

"Yeah. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me or Videl." He smiled. "I guess you can call me big brother if you want to, but you don't have to."

"Ne, big brother! You should see Kira-chan's drawings!" Goten butted in. "She's awesome at it!"

"Oh…So you're an artist." Bulma stated and Kira blushed a bit.

"…I just draw…" She said then saw Goten present her sketchbook to his brother. "Hey! Where'd you get that!?"

Goten just grinned. "Ha! Look big brother! It's us! Isn't it cool!?"

The picture Kira drew last night was presented to Gohan and Bulma.

"Wow, Kira…You drew this in a few hours? That's amazing!" Bulma was impressed.

"Yeah…You're really good!" Gohan said.

"Maybe we should convince Chi to get you into an art school…" Bulma deduced. "I'll pay for it."

"I…Uh…" Kira blinked.

"Say…Kira…" Gohan stared at his new sister. "What are these…lines…around everyone?"

"I asked that too!" Goten butted in. "But she said those were just mistakes…Right Kira-chan?"

Kira just shrugged, the mood in her changing instantly from bewilderment to what Bulma could only assume was 'moody teenager.' "Uh…Right…"

Bulma looked at the picture again, noticed the strange lines around the Son family. "Oh! I see…" That was kind of weird…There was no way those were mistakes. It was clear those lines were purposefully drawn. Gohan probably noticed it as well, but wasn't saying anything about it.

"And look at the shadow in the window! Creepy huh?" Ever the innocent Goten grinned. "I want Kira-chan to draw me! It'll be cool!"

"Uh…Yeah…I guess…" Kira was not used to Goten's…energy. The kid could probably bounce off the walls if he wanted to.

Confirmation accepted, Goten promptly dragged his new big sister away, grabbing the sketchbook in his wake. Gohan watched Kira silently as she drew Goten, Trunks also joining in.

"There's something odd about that girl…" His mentor, Piccolo had come because Gohan asked him to. This was a big day for Gohan as well, seeing as he was getting introduced to his new 'sister'. Though Chi-chi wanted Kira to have as much normalcy as possible, she couldn't deny some of their friends were rather…odd. It also would probably be helpful for Piccolo to meet Kira, in case their paths crossed.

Gohan nodded, Piccolo's sharp eyes were already suspecting something.

"She draws…a lot apparently." Gohan told his mentor. "…I think she sees Ki but…She doesn't know what it is…" He presented Piccolo with the picture. "Or she's hiding the fact she can see it…"

"I think it's the latter." Bulma deduced. "I'm no artist…but it's obvious about those lines…"

Again Gohan nodded. "Yeah…That's certainly ki lines…I'm sure of it…"

"Hmmm…" Piccolo was silent.

"She doesn't appear to have any ill intentions." Gohan continued. "She just seems…confused and awkward." His lips formed a concerned line. "Not that I blame her really…Mom said she lost her grandfather two weeks ago…"

"And her mother and father?" Piccolo asked.

"Well, since dad is now her guardian, I'd say they are dead too. I think…we're all she has now…." The very thought of such a notion made Gohan feel a sense of sadness for Kira. The poor girl must have gone through a lot and now…well…

"You realize that girl's life will NOT be normal…" Piccolo stated and Gohan nodded.

"Yeah…But at least right now, it can be." Gohan continued to watch his new sister. She was handling Trunks and Goten's energy well. "She's probably confused and anxious. A little normalcy is probably what she needs right now." He smiled. "She didn't freak out when she saw you, so I guess that's something, ne?"

Piccolo folded his arms. Quietly he too eyed the new addition, already suspicions running high. Something was odd about that girl and he was determined to find out what.

"I know what you're thinking, Piccolo-san." Gohan knew his mentor well. "Right now let's just see what happens next? She's just a kid…"

Grunting Piccolo nodded. It was too early anyway.

Glad his mentor was satisfied, Gohan pondered when exactly this… 'normalcy' would last. Knowing their rather large group of friends and family, that wouldn't be too long.

Come to think of it, Beerus or Whis was not present which was odd to Gohan and he was rather thankful for that…

For all but five seconds.

The two otherworldly beings did as they often do…appear at the spur of the moment. No one blinked at their arrival or the fact that the god of destruction was currently pointing his nose to the vast amount of food nearby.

Bulma shook her head. "Well that didn't last very long…" She glanced over at Chi-chi who hadn't noticed the two otherworldly beings yet. At least Kira was still being preoccupied with Trunks and Goten. The two seemed rather smitten with the teenager.

"Hello, Bulma-san…" Whis's voice made her jump, something Bulma didn't often do. The towering angel was smiling at her. "Gomen nasai…I just wondered what the occasion was today!"

"Oh…" She blinked back her surprise. "Um…" How was she going to explain this?

"Ah…Whis-san!" Goku grinned upon seeing the angel. His eyes were in sparkle mode. Bulma groaned, knowing what the gentle giant was going to say next.

"Ne! Papa look! Look what Kira-chan drew!" Goten rushed over with Kira's sketchbook, presenting her newest artwork to his father.

"Hey!" Kira ran after him. She grabbed her sketchbook from little hands then pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'm really starting to not like this whole…little brother business…"

Bulma just chuckled. The two were already acting like siblings. It was kind of cute.

"Who are you?" Whis' voice brought Bulma back to reality.

"Oh! This is Kira-chan!" Goku grinned. "She's my new daughter!"

Whis raised an eyebrow.

"Well…sort of daughter…" Goku scratched his head. "Turns out I'm a godfather! Ain't that something?"

Bulma smacked her forehead and silently counted…

"WHAT!?"

Beerus' voice could be heard throughout the Capsule Corporations compound. The god of destruction was in front of Goku, eyes glaring.

"Will you chill? Geez!" Bulma huffed. "It's just an expression! It isn't what you think!"

"Um…What's going on?"

All eyes were on Kira, who was staring blankly at the scene before her. Her eyes darted from Bulma to Goku then to Whis…When her eyes went to Beerus, she suddenly winced and shut her eyes tight.

"Kira…" Bulma was at her side. "Are you okay?"

"Uh…Yeah…My eyes just feel…weird…" She rubbed them. "Their stinging…"

"Ah! Kira-chan!" Gohan was at his new sister's side. "Why don't you come and meet everyone else? You still haven't met your niece yet." He guided the teenager away, Bulma silently thanking at least ONE of their party having some common sense.

"Oi…Who the hell was that?" Beerus snorted.

"The reason why we were celebrating." Bulma explained. "Be nice will you? Kira's new to the family!"

"What the hell is this all about Goku and some godfather thing!?" Beerus demanded. "Whis!"

Whis looked into his staff's orb. "Ah…I see…It appears a godparent is someone who is now responsible for another's offspring. Well…That makes much more sense." He looked at Goku. "I can only assume Kira is your responsibility. Am I correct, Goku?"

"Yep!" Goku grinned. "Apparently I saved her grandpa and he made me her new parent, sort of…Don't really get it myself but Kira's staying with me and Chi now. She's a good kid." He paused. "Ack! I forgot something! Be right back!" He was gone in a blink.

Celebrations continued, both Bulma and Gohan making sure Kira stayed far away from the otherworldly beings, though Whis and Beerus didn't seem to really care about the teenager anyway. When the party began to close, the Son family headed back home with new daughter in two.

"Ne, Kira-chan…" Chi-chi smiled at the girl. "Did you enjoy meeting everyone?"

A nod. "Yeah…but…" She frowned. "Not to be rude…You've got some…weird…friends…I guess…"

Goten blinked. "What's that mean?"

"It means Kira likes her new family of course!" Chi-chi grinned at her little boy. "And Kira is going to love her new school!" She frowned. "I didn't want to send you to an art school but Bulma insisted…" She shrugged. "She's paying for it so I couldn't help but accept!"

Kira stared at the woman. "Huh?"

"That's great, Kira-chan!" Goten grinned.

Once arriving home, Goten immediately went with his dad for some firewood, Kira following Chi-chi inside.

"Go on to your room, Kira-chan! It's been an eventful day." Chi-chi smiled. "There will be more to come so rest up!" She sighed. "I'm sorry you got so surprised…But it's okay…You'll be fine. I'll call you when it's dinner time."

"Uh…okay…" Confused, Kira went to her room, turned on the light. It was a simple space with a bed, a nightstand and a desk. Goten said it had been Gohan's room when he lived there. Outside the world was dark, stars lighting the night sky.

There was something on her bed…A neatly pressed package wrapped in paper. Frowning she went to it, tore the paper.

A brand new sketch book with an orange cover lay before her, a simple note upon the front cover, written in scribble she was certain only a child could make. Next to the words were the three signatures of her new family members.

"Welcome home." It said.

Kira frowned. She never remembered this sitting here when she left with the family to Capsule Corporations.

"How…Did this get here?" She flipped through the sketchbook, noticed the paper was of high quality, something she never thought she would ever see. Did they get this for her?

Setting the notebook down she went to the window, thinking of the many events that had happened to her in such a short time. She had known immediately something was…odd about her new family…What was even odder was her reaction to the strangeness that was the Son family and their friends. Most people would be freaking out about it but…Kira wasn't.

"I really am weird." She sighed, remembering the constant teasing from her previous school. The kids had all called her weirdo because she stayed with her grandfather, at least that's what she told herself constantly; the man was rather intimidating but nice when you got to know him. It wasn't the true reason for the constant bullying…Kira only hoped her new family wouldn't find out that part of her life. The Sons were a good family…She didn't want to ruin it with her…strangeness.

She took a deep breath and prayed to whatever kami or whatever was out there. "Please…For once…Just leave me alone…I…Like it here…"

"Kira! Dinner time!" She heard Chi-chi's call and went out to have dinner with her new family.
